I am back from the dead! And I am proud to introduce a new series of drawings I am titling: “Cat knows Nothing (capital ‘N’) about fashion so she’s stealing looks from Pinterest and putting them on characters she’s hyperfixating on!”
I’m also trying to switch to Clip Studio Paint! It’s definitely been a tough adjustment, but for my first fully rendered piece on the program, I’m really proud of the result! The brush I used to shade was very unyielding, but the texture was too good to use a different brush. And the SPARKLE PATTERNS! I have way too much power now lmao
I will give my firstborn child to anyone who recommends good CSP brushes. I’m specifically looking for paint/watercolor brushes with lots of texture and/or can blend well, but I’m also open to other brushes! And don’t worry, multiple people can suggest. I have multiple children. Who are all firstborn. It was a rough pregnancy.

all the needlessly homophobic complaints about alan’s sexuality we see crop up every time comics dare show him are always terrifying to me because i live in fear of something this wonderful this major this legitimately significant being taken away from us but also it’s worth noting. as i’ve done a million times before. that alan scott being canonically gay is not a retcon but an acknowledgement of the way he’d been written for 45 years of his existence! forty-five years of comics with no romantic relationships with women whatsoever!
you don’t even have to know comics to realize that that’s basically unheard of for any superhero anybody can name and it’s in that context that alan’s relationships with molly mayne and rose/thorn (both ‘revealed’ in the infinity inc annual #1 with a cover date of aug 1985) must be looked at as the true retcons and the work of one sole author (roy thomas).
in the 1940s, alan has no romantic relationships (no, not even with irene miller despite common misconceptions) and shared a bedroom & a bathroom with a male best friend (doiby dickles), he frequently accompanied doiby to family reunions, the pair even babysat doiby’s nephew, adopted a dog together and often vacationed together. in the 1950s and 60s, throughout his rare appearances in the silver age green lantern title, alan again has no romantic relationship and the biggest change in his life -- other than doiby’s eventual departure when he gets married -- is career-related. in the 70s, throughout the then-newly revived all-star comics, alan again has no romantic relationships and the co-author of the book (paul levitz) very clearly states in an interview in the amazing world of dc comics #16 (↓) that without doiby alan only has his career. by that point, in-universe, alan scott was in his late fifties and had dated no women despite nearly the entirety of the jsa settling down. instead, he clearly continued to prioritize male friendships in his life.
it’s ridiculous, it’s simply completely ridiculous, to be hung up on some great injustice being done to molly -- an effective ghost in alan’s life past that one annual considering how thoroughly she’s been ignored unlike, say, joan garrick -- by the canon confirmation of alan scott being gay and the subsequent exploration of his sexuality. he’s always been gay!

hi! i'm glad :] trying to focus on the small nice things in the world helps me get through the day a lot-- where i live, i'm able to wake up and see the sun through the windows, and i think that's enough to know the world is so much brighter and full of life than it sometimes feel like. and earlier i was drawing with my sibling and i used a colored pencil and the texture came out SUPER even and nice which is kind of hard with crayola colored pencils that are as old as me-- and that made me smile a lot :]
i dunno! i think this is the best thing i can do for myself and for other people because it's hard to see all the good things out there when you're going through a lot of shitty things. so pointing them out for myself is like a little checkpoint to keep pushing on!

we need to destroy the idea that girls should wear makeup. normalize bare faces on prom queens and flower girls and cheerleaders. no products at all instead of '7 product simple makeup routine.' no more 10 step skincare and regular facials and dermablading and gua sha just to be comfortable with yr natural face. i want to see eye bags on the funny librarian and acne on the swim coach and wrinkles on all our adult role models. i want to see a 16 year old girl that has never tried putting on eyeshadow. i want to see a 7 year old girl who doesn't have to go out and buy powder for her dance recital. i want to see trans women and girls everywhere to never have to wear makeup, regardless of how well they 'pass.' no more 'contouring to look masc' either. a post-beauty industry world is possible
