Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi welcomed counterparts from Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Egypt, the Palestinian National Authority, and Indonesia, as well as the head of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation for a two-day visit to the Chinese capital, the start of the delegation’s expected tour of several world capitals. “The international community must act urgently, taking effective measures to prevent this tragedy from spreading. China firmly stands with justice and fairness in this conflict,” Wang told the visiting leaders in opening remarks ahead of talks, where he reiterated China’s call for an immediate ceasefire.[...]

“Israel should stop its collective punishment on the people of Gaza, and open up a humanitarian corridor as soon as possible to prevent a humanitarian crisis of a larger scale from taking place,” Wang was cited as telling the delegation during the talks, according to a readout from China’s Foreign Ministry.[...]

Beijing dispatched a peace envoy for a multi-country tour of the region last month and has acted as a strong voice pushing for an immediate ceasefire at the United Nations, including the Security Council, where China now holds the rotating presidency.

My first friends online were Wheel of Time websites where people would update their theories sites (blogs before blogs existed) and it took 23 minutes to load each text page and the pleasure of it was just to nod along going “Yes, this!” in the early days of the totally decentralized internet where your personal URL was your domain and people visited for your niche fandom opinions and forums were an innovation. I learned how to closely read text as a 12 year old in 1999 chatting with presumably 40-something epic fantasy fan dudes about whether Robert Jordan’s comma placement in book 6 out of 15 (each 1,000 pages, keep in mind) might mean such and such character was lying and therefore a Dark Friend.

This was my first and most unhinged fandom. I’m so excited that the show is changing everything and thus doing the actual story true justice.

A Lifeguard's Loyalty (Bondi Rescue)

Third Person POV

Once a member of the notorious Bra Boys, Jesse had finally decided to turn his back on the gang and start a new life. Little did he know that leaving the Bra Boys would come at a high cost.

It was a sunny afternoon at Bondi Beach, with the waves crashing against the shore and the moon turning the sand silver. It was five in the morning, and Jesse was opening. Jesse, now a full-time lifeguard, was about to start his shift at the lifeguard tower. As he approached the tower door, he sensed an eerie presence behind him.

Before he could react, three angry Bra Boys surrounded him, their faces contorted with rage. One was Koby Abberton's brother, Jai. Another was a kid named Andrew, and the other a 23 year old kid named Jordan. Jesse's heart raced as he realized the consequences of his decision. The gang members unleashed their fury upon him, leaving him beaten and bloodied right in front of the lifeguard tower door. They didn't stop until his blood was pooling over the cement, his eyesight fading, and his breath rattling in his chest, and they fled, not looking back and laughing, "That's what blood traitors get!"

As Jesse lay on the ground, struggling to regain his composure, it was Singlets, his fellow lifeguard and friend, who discovered him. Singlets gasped in shock, his worry for Jesse evident in his eyes. Without hesitation, he scooped Jesse up and rushed him to the nearest emergency room. "Shit, shit, shit," He kept repeating, scrambling for the phone as he took a sharp turn, hearing Jesse whine. "Hello?" Hoppo asked. "Emergency, Jesse's out, someone attacked him. I'm taking him to the ER." "What? Shit, I'll gave Reidy and Mouse open, then, and meet you there." Hoppo hung up.

Time Skip...

Singlets' heart pounded with fear as he watched the medical team attend to Jesse's injuries. He couldn't bear to see his young team member in such a state. Thoughts of revenge against the Bra Boys (because really, who else would it be? Everyone loved Jesse) filled his mind, but he knew that Jesse's well-being was the priority.

Hours passed, and the medical team worked tirelessly to mend Jesse's wounds. Singlets never left his side (when allowed to stay, anyway), providing comfort and support throughout the ordeal. As the night wore on, Jesse slowly regained consciousness, his battered body a testament to the price he had paid for leaving the Bra Boys.

The first time he woke up, it was only six=thirty and still dark outside. Hoppo was at his bedside, reading a thick book, and Jesse felt safe enough to drift off. When he woke up again, it was around noon, he guessed, and Harrison and Maxi were sitting in chairs, facing each other with a tiny table between them, playing cards. "Shit." Harrison sighed, making Maxi giggle.

The third and final time Jesse woke up, he saw Mouse in the hall, talking to the doctor, and Jethro and Joel on the small couch, fast asleep. Or, he thought they were, until Joel glanced up, dark eyes shining in the minimal light, and smiled, gently easing from under Jethro's legs and sitting beside Jesse. "Hey, how you feel?" He asked, and Jesse didn't reply, just grabbed his hand, eyes fluttering shut. He heard Joel whisper, "Okay, I'll stay right here."

In that moment, Jesse realized the true value of loyalty and friendship. Singlets' unwavering dedication had saved him from a fate worse than he could have imagined. Maxi and Harrison had come to visit, knowing Jesse didn't really like hospitals. Hoppo cared, Mouse cared. The team cared.

Plus, Joel let Jesse hold his hand. That was an upside for sure.

From that day forward, Jesse vowed to leave his past behind and embrace the new family he had found among the lifeguards of Bondi Beach.

Moore condemned China’s treatment of Muslims in 2017 and wrote an open letter to the Chinese premier alongside of Rabbi Abraham Cooper from the Simon Wiesenthal Center.[8] In May 2021, the People's Republic of China issued retaliatory sanctions against Moore that banned him from entering the territory that it controls the United States issued sanctions against a Chinese official for the official's involvement in the detention of Falun Gong pratcitioners.[9][10][11]

Middle East:

In 2017 Moore joined the Los Angeles Museum of Tolerance Press Conference calling for tolerance and the end of bigotry.[12][13] Moore played a key role in the release of the historic Bahrain Declaration calling for rights for religious minorities in the Middle East. Days after the move of the Jerusalem embassy more led a multi-faith peace delegation from the Kingdom of Bahrain on a pilgrimage in Jerusalem.[13] Moore’s Bahraini trip to Jerusalem prompted his being listed on the electronic intifada for allegedly forging and alliance between Bahrain and Israel in defiance of the Arab boycotts of Israel.[14][15]

Moore met and raised awareness of human rights issues with the Saudi CP within weeks of the death of Khashoggi.[16] He also visited the country on 9/11 and is an advocate of the Crown Prince’s Vision 2030 reform agenda.[17] Moore participated in the announcement of the first ever Chief Rabbi for the United Arab Emirates[18] and held meetings with heads of state throughout the Islamic world with the Crown Prince of the United Arab Emirates in 2018[19] as well as advocating for persecuted Hindus in India.[20] He now serves on the ADL Task Force for Protecting Minority Groups in the Middle East.[21]

Moore praised the Kingdom of Jordan for its interfaith efforts[22] as well as praising the President of Azerbijain as a model of peaceful coexistence.[23] He has also met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and various Palestinian leaders,[24] the President of Azerbaijan,[25][26] and twice with the Crown Prince of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in 2019 and 2018[27][28] and he has met with the World Council of Churches.[29]

Moore referred to the ISIS threat against Christians in Iraq and Syria as a “once in a 1000 year threat to Christianity.”[30] He chartered a private jet and organized the evacuation and resettlement of ISIS victims from Northern Iraq to Slovakia over Christmas in 2015, a first in a series of efforts that eventually resettled over 10,000 Christian and Yazidi refugees displaced by ISIS.[31][32] On September 11, 2019 he joined forces with Muhammad Alissa of the Muslim World League to issue a joint statement calling for cooperation between evangelicals like Moore and Muslims with a focus on protecting Christian holy sites.[33] Moore is a critic of Iran and has called for the Iranian people to take back their religion from their supreme leader.[34][35] He praised Pakistan’s prime minister for the arrest of a leading terrorist[20] and in 2019 his advocacy was credited for the release of an 82-year-old Muslim prisoner of conscience in Pakistan, Abdul Shakoor.[36][37]

18. Do any of your stories have alternative versions? (plotlines that you abandoned, AUs of your own work, different characterisations?) Tell us about them.

I can think of two.

1. Sirius Black Doesn’t Care was not going to have a jegulus subplot but it was peak jegulus time and I was reading a lot of those fics so I added it in.

2. TORCH all caps was meant to have another chapter where Ronan visits Declan and Jordan and the kitten was supposed to fall in looooove with Declan, like purring and falling asleep in his lap. Then Ronan went over to take her home and she turned into a fireball again like “no thanks, middle lynch, im good right here” and thats how jordeclan got a cat. 🐱

23. What’s the story idea you’ve had in your head for the longest?

Hmm it’s actually a songfic based on Saw You in a Dream by The Japanese House. I have thought of ways to write a fic for this for multiple ships including but not limited to johnlock (bbc sherlock) back in 2017, reddie (It) in 2019/2020, wolfstar (harry potter) in 2021/2022 and now pynch in 2022/2023.

It is such a good YEARNING song, seeing a lover, friend in a dream and waking up to realize they aren’t there. I recommend giving it a listen and that band. here’s some of the lyrics and a link to the song:

The T9S Gang at 56, a package of my post for the T7S Gang in my verse.

Nikki: Married to Gwen for 36 years, have two dogs: Sam & Julia (2 and 7/15ths in human years). Still working as a journalist and editor, but has a different boss since Midge is dead. Sam and Julia are still alive and well. She's trying to chill out more with work since she's getting older. And she comes back to Point Place more often to see the gang and her family. She also uploads some covers on Youtube and Instagram.

Gwen: Married to Nikki for 36 years, have two dogs. She's still working as an activist and radio host, along with doing some rock covers. Sam and Julia are happy and healthy. She visits Point Place to see her her family and the gang.

Leia: Married to Jay for 36 years, has triplets: Margie (37), Anne-Marie (37), & Lizzie (37). And has one granddaughter: Elsa (11). She's still thriving at being assistant mayoress but has been thinking of retiring so Margie or one of Sarnate's kids could work there. She and Jay still go out with Nate and Sarah and consistently communicate with Gwen, Nikki, Ozzie and Etienne. And due to them all getting older, they spend more time together in person more often.

Jay: Married to Leia for 36 years, has triplets and one granddaughter. He still travels for directing plays but Leia would also come with. Even though Point Place is Leia's home, so is Jay. And as I said before, the gang all keeps in touch. He also makes sure to visit his kids and granddaughter as much as possible.

Nate: Married to Sarah for 35 years, has quadruplets: Jazzy (25), Sammi (25), Jordan II (25), Connor II (25). Still does stand up comedy but also tries to take it easy so he can be in his kids' (and grandkids'?) lives more. He and Sarah are still happier than ever and still have Miriam with them (one of the caretakers).

Ozzie: Married to Etienne for 31 years, has one daughter: Josie (23). They're on a reality show called 'The Stick' together. He ended up leaving the lifeguard business to do something more ambitious. Also comes back to Point Place to visit friends and family.

Spanning three decades in the entertainment business, MERRILY WE ROLL ALONG charts the turbulent relationship between composer Franklin Shepard (Jonathan Groff) and his two lifelong friends—writer Mary (@lindsaymendez) and lyricist & playwright Charley (Daniel Radcliffe).
