I’m doing a special fundraising stationery sale to raise money for two really important charities that support queer folks in the UK and children in Palestine so I need your help! If you want a cute Valentine’s Day card, envelopes with customisable faces, or a skull with SNES controller eyes, I’ve got you covered.

I live in the UK and it breaks my heart how much fear and despair there is for trans people living in my country. Our government are not only not supporting trans folks but are actively trying to roll back already existing laws that protect trans people. Any time they need to distract from some other awful policy targeting immigrants or disabled people (our government really sucks), they’re quite happy to throw trans people under the bus and stir up hate. We’re yet to get a ban on conversion therapy that includes trans (or asexual!) people. Trans kids are actively being targeted and put in danger by new laws saying that teachers have to out kids to their parents even if that’s not safe for them. That’s why the first charity I’m raising money for is Spectra, a UK charity who run health and well-being services for underserved communities. They do LGBTQ+ youth groups, trans led peer support services, HIV testing and advocacy training. Organisations like this are doing really important work right now!

On the topic of the UK breaking my heart, our complicity in Israel’s occupation of Palestine and the tens of thousands of Palestinian people Israel have killed has to be stopped. I have been in the streets protesting whenever I can but unfortunately I’ve been ill and in hospital a lot lately, so I want to try to help another way. That’s why the second charity I’m raising money for is the Palestinian Children’s Relief Fund. We can’t lose sight of what is STILL HAPPENING in Gaza and the decades of trauma it will cause in the future.

If you’d like to buy something just send me a message 😊 100% of the money for the stationery goes to the charities (split equally between the two). If you live in the UK I can post things to you for free, if you’re outside the UK I will need to charge postage. Like, I was out here thinking jetpacks were gonna be more common than they are, but it’s just some parts of the military??? And they cost thousands of dollars??? And most of them aren’t good for long flights??? We need to start discussing this, man!

Wonderful Things That May or May Not Be Wonderful!!! The power of flight. Something humans have dreamed about ever since they looked up at the sky. Yet now that we have achieved this power with planes and their ilk, we pretty much take it for granted...or have we? We still have not gained the powers of true flight like the kind birds and bats are capable of. Flight represents freedom and the restrictions on today's air travel methods do not reflect this in any way. What our hearts truly want is the superpower of flight. A more personal way of touching the atmosphere and telling birds "HA!" Superheroes know it. Reindeer know it. Even secret agents and interstellar bounty hunters know it through the jetpack. Will we ever travel to work and/or go to far away places without being constrained by the earth and/or airplane fees? Only ingenuity, imagination, and time will tell. Until then, we still have a fantasy that has led to some of the most memorable and heart-pounding scenes in art and creative media. A dream that has lasted millennia. So once we reach the day of personal flight machines and/or powers, it will be a wonderful day indeed...just as long as we invent/bring something that can deal with temperature fluctuations, wind blowing on our eyes, oxygen deprivation, air friction and other such horrors and bothers airplanes keep us safe from.
