The Parable of the Lost Sheep:
Redemption and Restoration
In the parable of the Lost Sheep, Jesus conveys a deep message about the relentless pursuit of redemption and the boundless grace of God. Let us delve into this timeless story and explore its significance in our lives today.
A certain shepherd had a hundred sheep, yet one of them strayed from the fold. Undeterred by the ninety-nine, the shepherd embarked on a relentless search for the lost sheep. He scoured the hills and valleys until, at last, he found the wayward sheep, weary and alone.
Filled with compassion, the shepherd tenderly lifted the sheep onto his shoulders and rejoiced, calling together his friends and neighbors to celebrate the sheep's return. In the same way, Jesus explains, there is more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance (Luke 15:3-7).
This parable reminds us of the depth of God's love and his unwavering commitment to seek out and restore the lost. Just as the shepherd pursued the lost sheep, so too does our Heavenly Father pursue each one of us with relentless love and compassion.
No matter how far we may have strayed, God's arms are always open wide, ready to welcome us back into His embrace. His grace knows no bounds, and His forgiveness is freely offered to all who humble themselves and turn back to Him.
The parable of the Lost Sheep challenges us to reflect on our own lives and consider those areas where we may have wandered away from God's path. It beckons us to return to the fold, to repent of our sins, and to experience the joy of reconciliation with our Heavenly Father.
Just as the shepherd rejoiced over the lost sheep's return, so too does God rejoice over each one of us when we turn back to Him. Our repentance brings joy to heaven, and our restored relationship with God brings fulfillment and purpose to our lives.
Broader context:
Parable of the Lost Sheep (Luke 15:3-7):
This is the main passage where the parable is found.
God's Pursuit of the Lost:
Ezekiel 34:16 - God seeks out the lost and brings them back to safety.
Isaiah 53:6 - We all, like sheep, have gone astray, but the Lord laid on Jesus the iniquity of us all.
Matthew 18:12-14 - Jesus' teaching about the shepherd who leaves the ninety-nine to seek the one lost sheep.
Psalm 119:176 - Like a lost sheep, seek your servant, for I have not forgotten your commands.
God's Rejoicing over Repentance:
Luke 15:10 - There is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.
Luke 15:32 - It was fitting to celebrate and be glad, for your brother was dead, and is alive; he was lost, and is found.
Acts 3:19 - Repent therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out.
God's Unfailing Love and Faithfulness:
Psalm 23:1-3 - The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul.
Psalm 36:5 - Your steadfast love, O Lord, extends to the heavens, your faithfulness to the clouds.
Psalm 136:1 - Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever.
Lamentations 3:22-23 - The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.
The Shepherd's Role as a Metaphor for Jesus:
John 10:11 - I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.
Hebrews 13:20 - Now may the God of peace who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the eternal covenant.
Call to Repentance and Restoration:
Joel 2:12-13 - "Yet even now," declares the Lord, "return to me with all your heart, with fasting, with weeping, and with mourning; and rend your hearts and not your garments."
Revelation 3:20 - Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me.
The Joy of Salvation:
Romans 15:13 - May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.
Psalm 51:12 - Restore to me the joy of your salvation and uphold me with a willing spirit.
Questions:
Have I strayed from God's path, and if so, am I willing to humble myself and turn back to Him?
Do I fully grasp the depth of God's love and His relentless pursuit of me, even in my moments of wandering?
How can I share the message of God's grace and redemption with others who may feel lost or disconnected from Him?
What steps can I take to deepen my relationship with God and experience the fullness of His joy and restoration in my life?
Let us pray:
Heavenly Father, we thank you for your unwavering love and grace, demonstrated to us through the parable of the Lost Sheep. Give us the courage to humble ourselves, repent of our sins, and return to you with open hearts. May we never forget the depth of your love for us and the joy that comes from being reconciled to you. In Jesus' name, amen.

“You will grieve…”
Think of all of the sources of grief in life. Some of them have to do with things. But the ones that hurt the most? The ones that involve people.
Whether it’s death, divorce, betrayal, abandonment, it really boils down to the loss of a relationship. Whether it’s the end of something genuine, or the realization that someone wasn’t who we thought they were. The things that hurt the most involve the loss of a relationship.
Because those losses hurt us so deeply, it’s easy, kind of natural, to think that we’ll always feel that way. That we’ll always be grieving.
In the Gospel, Jesus tells the Apostles about His own impending death. Jesus is very blunt about what His death is going to do to them – “You will weep and mourn, while the world rejoices.”
If you were trying to pick a way to make something hurt even more, this would be it. Having other people rejoice at your loss.
But Jesus tells them something else – “You will grieve, but your grief will become joy.”
Even though it hurts. Even though people are trying to make it hurt even more. It won’t always be that way. Grief will end. And it will end in joy.
Jesus is telling the Apostles how grief will work for them with His own death and resurrection. But Jesus is also telling us how grief will work in our lives. That we will have grief. But that grief is not eternal. That if we draw close to God, God will replace our grief with joy.
That can be hard to see when you’re in the middle of grieving a loss.
On the Saturday morning after the Crucifixion, the Apostles weren’t saying to themselves “I can’t wait until Jesus comes back tomorrow.” That Saturday, the Apostles had no idea about Sunday.
Even though Jesus told them what would happen? Yes. They were too lost in their grief to remember any of that.
We’re no different. When you and I are in the middle of grieving a loss, it’s easy, kind of natural, to think that we’ll always feel that way. That we’ll always be grieving.
Thank God we’re wrong. Grief is unavoidable. But it’s not permanent.
It can be hard to see that while we’re lost in grief on Saturday. But the truth is that God has already prepared a Sunday of joy to follow our Saturday of grief.
Stay in faith. Saturday’s almost over.
Draw close to God. He’ll bring you through to Sunday.
“You will grieve, but your grief will become joy.”

Tell Them The Truth
“I tell you, No; but unless you repent (change your mind for the better and heartily amend your ways, with abhorrence of your past sins), you will all likewise perish and be lost eternally.” Luke 13:3AMPC
Someone came to Jesus with a ‘did you hear’ message. Whomever the bearer of tidings was, they came not only with the message, but evidently had a question….. ‘Were these people evil to have received this horrible death?’
In verses2-5 Jesus proceeds to tell them, ‘people are going to die. It’s satan’s payoff for serving him. You’ll get the same payoff, if you keep sinning and not turning to the Lord.
Society today is riddled with auto accidents, murders, death by disease-neglect-lack of help. Death is everywhere we look. There’s also sorrow, grief, and pain causing seemingly decent people suffering without relief. We can mourn with those who are mourning. But much kinder to them is whenever possible tell them the truth. Jesus chose to tell those listening to Him— ‘repent. If we don’t repent the same fate awaits everyone who sins— death and hell for eternity.’
I know I’ve been hitting the negative hard lately. It’s become more and more astounding to me as I discover that much of the church-going-Christians don’t believe the Bible is totally true. Some don’t believe in satan being an actual being: in hell being actually a real place: in the fact God will allow people to enter hell by their own choice: in the anti-christ trying to takeover planet earth: nor that God’s love doesn’t supersede and override a person’s choice to sin and not caring about heaven or hell.
Recently a family member— a lady I highly regard and love— lay in the hospital dying, unless she had a miracle. All I could see was, if she didn’t live, she’d end up in hell. Sweet, kind, generous, loving, helpful always didn’t add up to being born again. Often I’d tried to tell her about Jesus, to lead her to salvation. After God so graciously heard my prayer and allowed her to live, I became very up-front-in-the-face — ‘Sweet lady, had you died you would be in hell. God allowed you to live in order to give you another chance to accept Jesus as your Lord.’ I gave her the sinners’ prayer. Her choice for Jesus isn’t an option to me— it’s a necessity.
What will we do when we see war on our soil? We’ve got a Chinese and terrorist army both right here in our land now. This week they were given the right to bear arms as illegal aliens. War is a perfect way to prevent an election.
What will we do when we see people dropping like flies with the disease X? The WHO has already announced it’s going to be a major player in deaths this fall. They ruined one election with a disease.
Wake up. Pray! “If My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” 2Chronicles 7:14NIV. When we repent and seek the Lord, He promises to remove the evil consequences from our land. We will be able to speak to the lost in order to not see as many of those we love die, knowing they’re going to a sinners’ hell.
Are the lost important to you? Is this nation important to you? It’s your choice. You choose.
LET’S PRAY: LORD God the world is lost and dying and we’re not caring for the lost, trying to win them as we should. Help us to awake from our apathy, to repent, to pray, and to live with You, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

Salvation Prayer
Heavenly Father, I come to You in the Name of Jesus. Your Word says, "Whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved" (Acts 2:21). I am calling on You. I pray and ask Jesus to come into my heart and be Lord over my life according to
Romans 10:9-10. that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
If you have prayed this prayer. Tell someone this great news. Find a good church that will help you grow in the Lord. Read the Bible so you can begin to understand God’s voice. If I can be of any help in finding the right resources to get you started, please don’t hesitate to comment below.

Western Mythological Cinematic Universe
A lesson for Christian artists from King Arthur In American culture, for the longest time action / super heroic entertainment consisted of characters that were neither religious or nor not religious, but just safety secular. Meanwhile religious entertainment has God-believing characters but had to always have a moral, not be too violent or too ridiculous, with the result that religious…

Cry out to Him
He hears your every sound.
Call out His name
He won't let you down.
When you're sinking fast
He won't let you drown.
Jesus doesn't ever leave one behind
He searches until the one is found.

I have gone fully non-verbal today. I have never had it been this bad before. I literally cannot utter a word.
It’s because God has put me through so much recently. God has given me so many challenges that I could barely handle individually and yet he has given them to me all at once. I could hardly drag myself out of bed today. I ditched all my classes, I couldn’t risk being called on while being unable to speak. Instead I have taken the day to try and heal. I walked outside, I went to my church to think, ponder, and pray, soon I will be at the gym, and soon the NBA season starts. Those are things I am looking towards to keep me alive.
I never asked to be disabled. I don’t know why god made me this way. Sometimes i feel angry that he made me this way, even though i know i shouldn’t. Sometimes I feel angry god is putting me through so much and has put me through so much in the past; even though I know I shouldn’t. I don’t know why god is putting me through so much in so little time. I can’t take it anymore. I pray god knows I am at my limit and that he grants me reprieve soon. God has given me so many good friends and family to lean on and they have opened their hearts for me. They grant me comfort but I somehow I still lack the comfort I need from the humans I need it from most. I pray every night but even with god’s help and gifts I can only live through so much; I am towards the end of so much. It feels like i have spent the past two months taking 5 steps forwards then 6 steps back. I will strive on and persevere, but I pray god sends relief. I don’t know what I’ll do without it.

Atonement, part 1
Lately we have been reviewing some of the bigger key doctrines in the Bible, and today we are beginning a study on the topic of the atonement. This is a very complex and involved concept to present, not because it is so extremely difficult to understand, but because we have had a certain view over the centuries that may not reflect what the Bible actually teaches about this critical aspect of the…

Matthew 18:12-14
King James Version
12 How think ye? if a man have an hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, doth he not leave the ninety and nine, and goeth into the mountains, and seeketh that which is gone astray?
13 And if so be that he find it, verily I say unto you, he rejoiceth more of that sheep, than of the ninety and nine which went not astray.
14 Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish.
