"Would you make room for my love in the mess of your heart?"
Disclaimer:
I wanted to use this scene of "Swing kids" to illustrate a specific feeling, so please don't take the phrase too much to heart, it is mine.
Based on a deliciously achieved frame of "Swing kids", directed by Kang Hyeong-cheol.

THE SWING KIDS (2018)
In a world absorbed by war...North Korean prisoners living in a camp, trying to survive in this violent, destructive armed conflict. Filled with hate for communism and enemy. Crying at night, longing to see their family again....
One day new commander ordered one of the sergeants to create a tap dance band from the prisoners. It doesn’t seem like the best idea. However, forced to do it any way he opened a small hall and organized a casting. He didn't expect that it will be the start of the most memorable journey and even bigger tragedy...
This is a story telling about life's of many, however, mostly focusing on this person named ROH KI SOO. He is called commander among the prisoners. His brother is called a Hero after many clashes and wins with an enemy.
One day, while breaking into the enemy's storage, the music from another room reached KiSoo's attention. It was sergeant Jackson playing the piano. After a few minutes, he STOOD up and started to dance. But what was it? What KIND OF DANCE IS IT?
KiSoo's mind was very confused as he felt both jealous and thread. The next day after being caught, he was ordered to repair the destroyed hall. Then, the newly formed group of dancers came for the first session. And he was there! The guy who played the piano! KiSoo will show him who is the real thread....but why can't he keep up the tempo?
This movie has many stories to tell. Starting from the war. The guy who is looking for his wife. A Chinese man who looks like he ended up as a prisoner by mistake. A girl who is desperately trying to feed her relatives after their parents passed away. Jackson, came as a sergeant in the enemy's army but was treated by them same like other prisoners. He found the only family in those people who he should despise. His story was very dire. Then we have many other characters whose both situations and personalities are unique in their own way. And we have KiSoo, who suppose to be the most full of vengeance against the US, the enemy, and the war....but he feels in love... with the Yankees dance...becoming a traitor in his own people's eyes. He can't sleep anymore, he can't sit down anymore. All the sounds around him are creating music and he is running to the hall where he can finally be himself. Until no one will find out...
Personal thoughts
I hated historical, war-related movies. But this one got me straight into my heart. KyungSoo not long ago became one of the best actors I have ever seen and in this role, he won this title. I hate musicals and hopefully, this movie has almost only dance scenes. The music is just in the right place. The actions and many plots put into one movie in such a brilliant way - I can say this movie is a masterpiece.
I always have at least one moment which I don't like, so here it goes:
- Sam-Shik as a villain was good but I think his plot could be written better. He was annoying from the start and not convincing at all
- Brother KiJin's appearance is a little too much. I mean, I get the idea and it could be perfect but when I saw him in the first scene I was like: "Am I watching Marvel now?" and when he pushed KiSoo in the last scene: "Did he suddenly become superhuman?"
But in general, it doesn't affect the movie and I can accept it in the end.
I am very much in love with this movie and if you are immune to blood and war then I recommend this! Except for war, we have a lot of GOLD COMEDY here, wonderful dance and performance developed by amazing actors ❤️
So that's it! I know it was long but this movie cannot be described in a short sentence🔥🤣
If you survived till the end of this post, please leave a heart❤️
Have a great evening/morning ❤️

‘Funny Girl’ the Broadway Revival Starring Beanie Feldstein, Ramin Karimloo, Jane Lynch, Jared Grimes
Jared Grimes and Beanie Feldstein in Funny Girl (Matthew Murphy)
Funny Girl has been successfully presented in the UK’s West End in revival (2016, book by Harvey Fierstein), in Paris, and in regional theater. However, producers have been loathe to consider a full-on Broadway revival until now. This is so for numerous reasons, not the least of which Barbra Streisand, who originated the role as a…
