a/n: indeed i can my friend here's a healthy amount of (very mild) angst just for you. i'm so totally gonna use this idea in a future chapter for the silly lil scenarios book as well because uh angst. maybe the prompt got away from me just a little bit i won't lie.

how do they react after an argument?

includes: jeff the killer, laughing jack, slenderman, nina the killer, eyeless jack, jane the killer, candy pop, clockwork, ticci toby, nurse ann, x virus, kagekao, jason the toymaker, the puppeteer, homicidal liu, sully, the bloody painter, the doll maker, zalgo, and hobo heart.

warnings: the aftermath of an argument, relationship disputes, some of these are healthy and some of these are not, inconsistent length.

JEFF THE KILLER would honestly be more upset if you walked out after an argument. he's already upset enough as it is, so you turning your back to him and storming out just makes his blood boil. he won't follow after you, but he'll definitely disappear for the next few days. he really isn't the best at resolving arguments, no matter how small they are. and unless he really fucks up, then he isn't going to apologize even if he is in the wrong. he's jeff the fucking killer, what the hell does he have to feel sorry about? you should consider yourself lucky that he didn't gut you for pissing him off.

if you want to have any form of resolve to this argument, you'll have to force the conversation because he will actively try to shut you down. he can't. he literally can't. resolution is not something he is good at, and unless you're the one to apologize, even if you aren't the one who is at fault, he's just not going to let any of this resolve. does that make him an asshole? yeah, it does. does he feel guilty? just a little. does that change anything? no, not really.

LAUGHING JACK, similar to jeff, would feel more upset over you walking away from the fight rather than the fight itself. he can come off as pretty scary during an argument, especially if it's one where he feels like he's in the right. he gets frustrated easily, and he's just overall a very expressive person, so. and he can get pretty fucking mean if he wants to, so yeah honestly you needing to walk away makes complete and total sense and he knows that it makes sense but that doesn't make him any less upset.

he'll just blame it on his abandonment issues or something because seeing you leave just to go and calm down should not have hurt as much as it did. and he debates going after you but he ultimately decides it would be best if he didn't. he wants to resolve this though, and he'll try but it'll be painfully awkward because, i mean, yeah.

SLENDERMAN is, by default, a pretty scary being the begin with so i imagine an argument with it would be pretty unnerving. it isn't used to people arguing with it, that's for sure. i think it would be more amused than upset, seeing such a small being stare up at it as if trying to intimidate it... it's a cute sight to see, that's for sure. it'll keep that thought to itself, of course. it imagines that saying such a thing out loud may only make things worse.

slender won't be upset when you walk away. it understands that you're just going to cool off. it'll take this time to clear its own thoughts until the two of you are ready to talk again and clear up the tension.

NINA THE KILLER would be immensely frustrated seeing you walk away. she'll probably let out a groan and tell you to come back, but she won't follow after you. she understands that if the two of you kept arguing any longer, things would only get worse. she knows that, so she'll use this as a chance to calm down herself. nina gets over things easier than you would think, and if this argument wasn't over anything major then the next time you see her, she'll most likely be back to her usual self.

she'll probably be the first to apologize as well, even if she feels as if she's not the one at fault. she can't stand when you're upset at her, so just accept her apology so the two of you can move on, yeah?

EYELESS JACK is always viewed as mature and in control of his emotions. and he is. a little too in control if we're being honest here. for most arguments you guys may have, he'll keep his cool and will try to understand your point of view and where you're coming from. there are times, however, when the control he has over his emotions slips, and you get reminded that oh. your boyfriend is a cannibalistic demon that can literally kill you in the blink of an eye. he really doesn't mean to scare you, but it's definitely a good thing you choose that moment to walk away to cool off because he has to physically force himself to not go after you.

and once he calms down, he will apologize. it's a genuine apology, one written all over his face. he never wants to or means to invalidate you and your emotions, and he never wants to make you scared of him.

JANE THE KILLER would probably be the first to walk away from an argument, if we're being fairly honest. if this is richardson we're talking about, then she's definitely more mature about it and politely suggests that you both take fifteen minutes to cool off before continuing the conversation. she does it because it's one, a healthy thing to do for your relationship, and two, while she is heavily in control of her emotions, the liquid hate running through her veins enhances her anger and it would be really bad if she genuinely got angry.

if this is arkensaw, i think she'll be a little less mature than she would like. she portrays herself as someone in control of her emotions, but her emotions and her hatred are what drive her. she does her best to her burning-hot anger in check but if you two have an argument, then it's fairly difficult. if you walk away first, then it'll only serve to upset her more, but she won't go after you. honestly, she'll probably even avoid you in the coming days because her anger lingers. it always lingers.

CANDY POP thinks it's cute that this little argument of yours got you so worked up that you had to walk away from him. honestly hell yeah if i were you i'd walk away from him as well because there is simply no winning with this guy. worst man you could ever argue with, to be honest.

but as we all know, his mood can change in an instant with no warning so. one moment, he thinks you walking away from him is cute and adorable. the next, he's getting frustrated and following after you because you don't get to walk away from him, silly. haven't you realized that he owns you?

CLOCKWORK, while she has her own anger issues and tends to get easily frustrated by the smallest of things, does try her best to keep her emotions in check if you two ever have an argument. it's not easy, and there have been times when she's snapped at you, but she always apologizes immediately after.

you walking away would make sense. she understands, she knows that you both need to take time to calm down before things get too heated. she gets it. but depending on what you two are arguing about, doing so could only serve to make her more angry. it's... frustrating, really. she won't follow after you though, because she knows it's what is best.

TOBY would want you to walk away. he needs it, to be honest. he tries to avoid getting into arguments with you for various different reasons. arguing with you stresses him out more than he would like it to, and it reminds him of the hold you have on him. you walking away from the argument would give him time to clear his head and cool off.

once you've both calmed down, he'll probably be the first to approach you because he cannot stand the awkward tension that always lingers after arguments with people. he wants to clear the air so this can all just be water under the bridge. it'll be a painfully awkward conversation though. he's not good at... resolving arguments. never had a positive example, to be honest.

NURSE ANN struggles to speak, so i think she would try to avoid getting into an argument because she feels as if she won't be able to properly get her point across. but arguments are bound to happen sooner or later, even in the healthiest relationships. and ann, to put it simply, is a very angry person. she keeps that anger in check when you're around, but it's literally impossible to not slip up a few times.

since ann rarely ever vocally speaks, her anger is typically conveyed in her stares and her jerky gestures as she signs. you walking away is the smartest thing you could do in that moment, leaving her alone to stew in her always-burning anger that she'll choose to take out on any nearby destructible objects or some sad poor soul that just so happens to trespass at her hospital in the coming hours.

X-VIRUS seems like the type of guy who has never really been in any arguments, to be honest. maybe when he was at the orphanage he got into a few petty arguments between the other kids, but nothing that would warrant needing to walk away, y'know? and i definitely don't think he'd treat the argument seriously, brushing off your words and whatnot.

he only realizes that you were genuinely angry with him when you walked away. it's definitely like... a slap in the face that oh. i'm a fucking asshole. he's not really sure what to do in this moment, and he waits until you come back on your own to try and apologize. but he's not the best at apologies.

KAGEKAO wouldn't treat the argument seriously at all. at least, not at first. honestly, he'd probably purposefully get you even more upset just to get a reaction out of you. does that make him an asshole? oh, most certainly. he just likes seeing you feel anything towards him, even if it's anger. he likes getting a reaction out of you because it's him you're reacting to. and it's entertaining as well, though you don't need to know that.

when you walk away, he'll feel a little frustrated at not being able to see you but he won't follow after you. he knows when to stop his antics. shocking, i know. and, if you're lucky, he may even hold you in his arms once you calm down. it's his way of an apology, i suppose.

JASON THE TOYMAKER fucking hates arguing with you. you're his other half, so arguing with you makes him feel sick to his stomach because what if... what if you aren't the one? he likes you too much to lose you, so you have to be the one. he definitely seems like he'd try to keep the argument short, and he'll be relieved when you walk away to cool off.

you don't try to leave him afterward, even if he was at fault for whatever you two may have been bickering over. that's good, really. that means you want to stay with him, even if you two have arguments like this. that's... that's so good.

THE PUPPETEER can't stand when anyone argues with him, so yeah, any argument you may have with him will be horrible and tense and it will not be pretty. he has to be the one to get the final word. he has to be the one in the right, even if he isn't. you must be aware of this, right? i mean, you're (hopefully, i assume) willingly sticking around this guy, right? so you should know that there's no winning with him.

and you walking away is simply not something he'll take kindly to. it's something that'll more than likely get a how dare you reaction out of him. you're a fool if you think he's just going to let you walk away. no, he'll either follow after you, or he'll pull you back with his strings. the conversation isn't over until he says that it's over.

HOMICIDAL LIU definitely does try to avoid any potential arguments with you. to be honest, most of your arguments with him will more than likely stem from his almost blatant disregard for his health and safety when he's injured as well as his almost suffocating habit of needing to protect you and keep you safe. it's inevitable, even if it's something he tries so desperately to avoid. that desperation is what tends to lead to arguments as well, if we're being honest.

he's not upset when you walk away. honestly, he's glad that you do. he always feels pretty damn awful whenever you two fight, and he patiently waits until you're ready to pick things back up so you two can resolve things and move on.

SULLY listens to everything you say with rapt attention. the only thing that matters to him at that moment is whatever you two are arguing about. hell, he doesn't give a shit about the argument itself rather than what you say, the expressions you make, and your tone of voice. every little gesture or movement you make catches his attention. honestly, if you asked him what you two were arguing about, he'd just look at you with a slightly confused expression because he's already forgotten.

and when you walk away to cool off and get some air, he has to restrain himself from following after you. he forces himself to sit down and he bites his fist as his mind hyper-focuses on every word you said and the way you looked at him and just... yeah, he's already moved on from the argument he just wants to see your face and hear your voice again.

THE BLOODY PAINTER is definitely not someone you want to have an argument with, honestly. not because he's an angry person or scary to get into an argument with or anything like that, no. he's just... very apathetic. it'll feel like you're arguing with a brick wall rather than a person, and you'll maybe even feel as if he doesn't care about you or your feelings. he just stares at you, blank-faced and monotoned.

once you realize that this argument is going literally nowhere, you leave to calm yourself down and he stays behind. it's not that he doesn't care about you and your feelings, he does, truly, he just... well... i could go into heavy heavy detail about his apathy when it comes to arguments but to spare you the length of that, just know that he does care, he's just absolutely horrific at showing it. once you come back, he will apologize for not better expressing himself and for unintentionally invalidating you and your feelings. he'll be better, though it will take time for him to become expressive.

THE DOLL MAKER seems like the type of person who wouldn't handle arguments well, i think. he's a fairly closed-off person and has some trouble conveying his thoughts and feelings sometimes, so i think it would stress him out a bunch if he got into a fight with you. depending on how bad the argument is, he'll either try to diffuse the situation or he may get angry and make things worse.

the moment you walk off, vine will be throwing himself into work to both calm himself down and distract himself from any potentially needless thoughts. he'll certainly try his best to resolve the conflict with you once you've both taken time to calm down but it'll definitely be stiff.

ZALGO would be very amused if you try arguing with him over something. you, a silly little mortal that somehow managed to catch his interest, are trying to argue with him, an eldritch horror beyond human comprehension that literally creates chaos for shits and giggles? how adorable. he's not going to take you seriously at all, i hope you know that.

and even if you walk away, you won't exactly be alone. zalgo is always there with you, even if not physically. a part of him is stuck with you, so he's always able to watch you, to talk to you. he thinks you're being dramatic for getting upset over something that he deems to be so utterly insignificant. there won't be any form of conflict resolution with him, so don't expect any form of apology or empathy or anything of that sort.

HOBO HEART you gotta be careful with, i think. the last time he felt as if he'd been wronged by the person he loved, he tore her heart out. not to say he'd tear your heart out over a minor argument or anything like that, no, that would be pretty petty and... he doesn't really think he's a terrible enough person to do that. maybe. depending on how serious the argument is.

he'll be a little disheartened when you walk away because he would rather clear up the air and tension immediately rather than wait but he understood, somewhat, that it'd be better if you both took time to cool off before either of you tried to resolve the conflict hanging in the air.

Derin, you once said that posting consistently in a web series is very important for the growth of audience. But how do you keep yourself motivated to create stories on schedule? Whenever I try to do it, I just lose motivation and get stressed out or bored with my project

My answer is to have a big buffer. I aim to have a buffer of at least one year's worth of chapters. That way, I can take a month or two off every now and then to avoid burnout. It is also far, far less stressful. Not having a buffer is the most stressful thing a writer can do, do not do that.

So far as long-term sticking to projects goes, there's a few skills involved here and all of them involve a lot of practice. The first thing is what I call the Shiny New Fruit problem. This is something you see pretty much every newbie writer doing -- they get a great idea for a story, they know how it's gonna start, they have a cool premise and a twist that's gonna BLOW EVERYONE'S MIND, it'll be great! They start writing! Their first chapter is cool and unique and full of promise, and they get great feedback, and they move onto the second chapter and it's also great, and...

Quite quickly, they run out of "great chapters". Most of the time, the start of your story is low hanging fruit, so far as writing goes -- it's where you get to introduce all your cool concepts and you're not weighed down by anything established yet and all the Cool Stuff That's Gonna Happen is still in the future, it's your perfect imagined version of it and not the (usually worse) version that ends up on the page. Then you run out of low hanging fruit, and it gets slower and harder, and you have to do a lot more actual work and it doesn't feel so new and exciting any more, and a newbie writer thinks, "oh, this isn't as fun, the story feels more boring to write, that part didn't come out as well as I'd hoped -- this story must be bad". And sometimes they might give up right away. Or instead they might continue... but they're distracted, because solving the issue of how to get those two guys out of prison in chapter 6 just gave them the BEST idea for a different story, it's gonna be so much better, the characters are great and they can already feel the words pouring out of them and...

So they run off to pick the low-hanging fruit for their new story, and before they know it, they have nine unfinished stories on their hard drive and not a completed story to their name.

Every writer will get distracted and enthused about new ideas for projects. This isn't a newbie problem. The newbie problem is letting them tempt you away from the viable projects you're already working on so that nothing gets done. My solution to this is very simple -- I am not allowed to write my future projects until I finish my current one. This way, all that enthusiasm for the future project is transmuted into motivation for the current one -- I can write that cool story about a bug alien who adopts and astronaut but first I have to push through the slow part of this story and get this story finished. This has always worked really well for me.

The second reason that you might lose motivation for a story you're working on is that the story is indeed bad, or at least, the version of it incubating in your mind isn't ready yet. The problem with this is that every story feels bad when you're bored or frustrated with it, and it takes a lot of practice to tell the difference between a genuine dud idea and one that your brain is lying to you about because it wants to play computer games instead. My advice on these is to push through anyway -- it almost certainly isn't a dud idea, and if it is, you'll learn way more by completing it than abandoning it.

The third reason is burnout. Now, it's important to note that everyone is bored and frustrated with their stories sometimes. I got sick of writing space intrigue and took a month off to play Subnautica (I could afford to do this with no stress because of my massive chapter buffer), then came back when I felt like it -- that isn't burnout. I've procrastinated for weeks before because I'm up to a really complicated scene with a lot of emotional beats and new information and it's hard to write so I don't wanna -- that isn't burnout. Burnout is what you get when you don't manage these things properly for way too long and grind your brain to paste. I have a lot of tips for avoiding burnout, but they'd take a long time to explain, so all I'll say here is that learning to recognise and avoid burnout is a skill that you will gain with experience.

The fourth reason that people get bored and frustrated is that writing is a skill, and it's a lot harder to do than it looks. Writing when you're not in Full Inspiration Mode is exhausting. It's difficult. It almost always looked worse on the page than you expected; your favourite authors do so much better than this, why doesn't your work look like theirs? It's just words! You know words!

This one trips a lot of newbies up, because in Full Inspiration Mode, writing is easy. someone can have five chapters pour out of them in that mode, and then look at their page two days later and go, "huh, writing is so much harder today". then they'll call that "writer's block" (that is NOT writer's block) and decide to write again when they "feel inspired".

Do not do this. It's a trap. If you only write when you're inspired, you will not succeed as a writer. Take advantage of your periods of inspiration, obviously, but writers must learn to forge ahead without them, because they're going to get fewer and smaller as the low hanging fruit all get picked and you simply will not keep up with a schedule relying on them, whether it's a web serial update schedule or a deadline given to you by a publisher or simply the desire to have a manuscript ready to pitch to an agent before you die of old age. The world is full of people who are "writing a book" and have been doing so for thirty years with almost no progress. If you want to finish, you need to write when it's a bit tricky, when it's a bit boring, when you're not inspired at all and aren't entirely certain where things are going. Fortunately this, like everything else here, is a skill that is honed with practice.

So, yeah. That's my advice. Have a chapter buffer, the bigger the better. Make sure that your writing pace is faster than your publication pace. Avoid these quitting/stopping pitfalls. That's pretty much it.

Who do you think apologies first after a fight and what are their arguments like. I’m pretty sure bucky is a lot softer and mellow now with her but does he ever loose his cool and regret it later☠️🤧

I'd say Bucky definitely apologizes first a good 85% of the time and she apologizes first the other 15%. In my mind, reader will only apologize first if she believes she started an argument unnecessarily or if she thinks she reacted unfairly.

When they argue it's normally nothing serious, they just go back and forth a lot with their banter about stupid stuff lol. If they do have a serious argument, it's probably about their future. Reader not feeling comfortable or ready to meet his family or introduce him to her own, for example.

She knows it'll happen eventually, whether she wants to or not, but as of right now, it's a point of contention.

I don't know what would make Bucky lose his cool after everything they've been through and how insanely obsessed, he is with her. it'd have to be something that would make him feel really insecure like something that would make him doubt her wanting to be with him. Let's say she goes out late and doesn't answer when he calls or texts, or she leaves somewhere without telling him - I think that would trigger his abandonment issues and cause a fight for sure. Whether he realizes it or not, I think he does, he's terrified of losing her.

I don't know that she'd ever purposely try and hurt him like that since the realization she came to in the last few chapters of the series, and I definitely think he's gotten more secure in their connection since then, but if anything would make him lose his cool, I think it'd be him getting scared she was leaving for good.

That would probably either upset reader because he would think she'd do that now, and anything that would rehash the dark times in their story for sure would be painful and cause a lot of issues for them. It might go something like this:

"You left?" he accused the moment you answered his call.

"I'm not gone, I'll be back," you responded with a small chuckle at his words.

"You didn't think to tell me?" he questioned harshly.

"It's not a big deal, Buck,"

"The hell it's not," he stormed.

"You need to calm down," you said, growing agitated at his attitude.

"Don't fucking tell me to calm down, as if I have no reason not to trust you,"

"Are you being serious right now?" you scoffed.

"Does it sound like I'm laughing?"

"You know damn well why I tried to leave back then. Don't accuse me of doing something you know I'm not fucking doing," you whisper yelled as you walked to your car, passing a couple as you went.

"You need to tell me where you're going and when,"

"Oh fuck off, you don't get to dictate when I can and can't go somewhere. You don't own me, I'm my own person,"

"This has nothing to do with being your own person, it has to do with me coming home expecting you to be here and finding you gone without a goddamn trace. What the fuck am I supposed to think, huh?"

"Maybe you could try taking a minute to check my location, which I know for a fact you have, instead of being paranoid and going to your worst case scenario," you shot back as you got into your car, throwing your purse down on the passenger seat.

"You can't get mad at me for being worried about you,"

"That's just it, Bucky. You know I'm fine, you can feel it. So don't try and spin this to put it on me. You weren't worried about me, you were worried I left. And yeah, it pisses me off you'd think that. After everything. You wanna talk about trust?" you asked incredulously.

He knew he fucked up when he said it. He didn't think he was entirely wrong in his worries, but he shouldn't have thrown that out there. He did trust you. He was just..scared. Fear always had him acting like the worst version of himself. He shouldn't have called you so accusatory. he knew you were fine, but when he realized you weren't home, he wasn't. Memories of you leaving, or trying to anyway, resurfaced and sent him sick, his stomach dropping and a sense of panic rearing its head at your unexplained absence. Even still, you didn't deserve his hostility.

"I don't wanna fight with you," he conceeded.

"Wonder why," you snarked before taking a breath. "I'll be home soon," you said before ending the call.

"I'm sorry," were the first words you heard when you opened the door, looking over to see a pitiful Bucky sitting at the bottom of the stairs where he had been waiting for you. You exhaled deeply, sighing as he stood and walked to you. "You were gone, and you - you never leave without telling me where you're going. I just- I lost it a bit. I shouldn't have called you the way I did, I'm sorry."

"I didn't think you'd get home before me or I would've told you I was out. I just hate that that was your first thought, that you could think I'd do that to you. Because I wouldn't. I mean, before, when we first.." you trailed off, "I would have before. But things are different now, they've been different, we're different. Better, I thought,"

"They are, we are," he agreed, taking your hands in his. "I'm sorry. I got scared," he admitted aloud. "And I let it get the best of me. I wasn't thinking. I trust you and I love you with everything I have, heart and soul," he said as he leaned down to press his forehead against yours. "You're everything to me. The thought of losing you," he shook his head. "You have no idea what you do to me," he breathed against your lips.

"If I was gonna leave, I would've done it already. It's you and me, no matter what.. I mean this soulmate thing, it's forever, right?" you quipped, a small smile on your lips, "'M not goin' anywhere."

When you looked to meet his eye, you were taken aback by the tears in them, your hands immediately going to cup his face.

"Babe," you cooed gently, thumbs stroking his cheeks. The sound of your voice so soft and concerned had him wrapping his arms around you and burying his face in your neck, your own arms winding around him in return. After a moment, you pulled away and grabbed his hand, leading him to the couch. You kicked off your shoes and laid down, pulling him along with you so he was laying comfortably on you with his head on your chest as you played with his hair.

You could practically feel the tension slipping from him as he melted into you.

"I really am sorry," he said again.

"I know," you whispered in response. "It's okay."

There was a brief, comfortable silence between you before you spoke again.

"You know I love you, right?" you breathed.

"You don't really have a choice, though, do you?"

Your heart clenched at his somber response. That was all you. You recalled those words you'd thrown at him over and over again during those first few weeks. It wasn't a lie. You didn't have a choice, neither of you did. But you meant it as a jab and he obviously still reflected on the pain of it. Your nose started tingling as you felt your eyes welling. You swallowed thickly.

"No.. I guess I don't," you took a moment. "You have to know, when I said that, I was hurt. And confused and angry," you cleared your throat, not wanting to bring up the past again. "But with you, right here and now, with this Bucky, I've never felt so protected, cherished... loved in my life. And I mean it, I'd chose you a thousand times over if I could," you finished, trying not to choke as your throat tightened.

You held him against your chest, cuddling him close, wanting to bring him the same comfort he so easily provided to you. Assure him of your feelings. When he finally looked up, his blue eyes were gleaming beautifully. He lifted himself up so he was hovering over you, holding your gaze.

"In every lifetime," he said softly. You nodded lightly, a small smile on your face before he leaned back down to kiss you gently. It was soft and sweet before he pulled away slightly, his lips brushing yours as he spoke, "It's always you."

Bucky lowered himself back down into the comfort of your embrace, your presence just as soothing to him as his was to you. As you cuddled into one another, you couldn't help but whisper out a delicate apology.

"I'm sorry I hurt you," you breathed. He squeezed you, rolling onto his side and pulling you to do the same, both of you now chest to chest, nuzzling into each other.

"I hurt you first," he responded, anguish clear in his voice.

Another beat of silence.

"I'd rather you hurt me in every lifetime than ever have to live one without you. I don't deserve you. But I love you so much. I'm sorry I hurt you, I hate that I did. Might never be enough, but I'll spend every day of the rest of my life trying to make it up to you."

This Milgram stuff on your page

The Milgram and the Rain Code stuff I mean and

Can I ask, are you planning to write either of the AU's? Like into a story?

The Raincode Cellblock and the uh. The other one. The AU that goes the other way around.

No worries obviously if not, I'm just wondering because they both sound really fun and cool to read if they were a story

Im considering it!! Right now I'm working on a different thing that will be around 14 or so chapters. I wanted to write all of those chapters first before posting the story because I have the tendency to drop stories and leave my readers with unfinished WIPs... So I want to focus on that first, and if I end up being unable to finish it no one will be disappointed.

As for my two AUs I think it would be fun to do both of them! I'd have to develop things more past just Fortes and what crimes they did.

For my Rain Code Cellblock AU if I do that, I have a few different ideas as to how I'd like to go about doing that. Like if I just want to make it a regular fic or if I want to go the Milgram route and have readers be able to affect the story. So if I go that way it'll be kinda new for me and I want to plot that whole thing out. I'd also have to think about how I'll translate music videos into like. Stories without it giving the crime away so obviously.. Also things like if I want the warden to be one of the characters or if I should go full Milgram and have the warden be just the readers.

Also not sure which characters I want to make into inmates. I was thinking just all the detectives, including the chapter 0 ones. Buuut if I decide to go the voting route with this story, there's a very BIG chance that everyone will get voted innocent because those are our faves. And while that'd be very very funny, it wouldn't be super interesting to read. So I could also include Amaterasu people, but then I think the exact opposite would happen. And I can't exactly blame people for wanting to vote their faves innocent. We all know these characters, so it's not as mysterious as actual Milgram where we're still learning who exactly everyone is. This thing is probably the biggest concern of mine if I decide to go for the interactive story route.

As for the Master Detectives Milgram AU, it wouldn't be interactive, but it would probably be very long. And I don't mind long fics, but if I decide to do it I don't think I could write all of that beforehand so there is a chance of me going dark on readers... Still if I do decide to do it, I'll have to plan out cases and how I think everyone's Fortes can be used together as well as like a different ending. There's also the fact that Milgram isn't finished so we don't even know who Es really is or if the prisoners are hiding more about their personalities/crimes.

Writing about things that aren't finished is just a slippery slope in general. I don't mind doing it, though! I just know if I decide certain things for characters and especially whatever the hell is going on with Es that it will probably end up outdated. Which isn't something I really mind but I know future readers would probably be confused.

BUT to make a long story short the big thing is just: Maybe. Both will require some planning, and they'll probably be long projects. I think they'd be really cool to do! But they're both concepts I'm not really used to writing. I will definitely be talking about them more however!! They're very fun to talk about and it's cool getting asks with everyone's ideas. Kind of like a big group project! But I'll keep people posted on if I decide to tackle these or not :]

Yuki: I don't know what you've had on your mind lately--but don't you think that in times like these, it's both a friend and leader's role to lend a hand?

vi. double firsts

☁️a/n☁️ this chapter has a couple lil blurbs (i say 'lil blurbs' as if i didn't write 500 words for each of them) bc i didn't wanna make them talk about these moments retrospectively over text. i tossed around the formatting w the readmore so this is where it landed, i hope it still reads clearly enough. i'm having a lot of fun w this series i just wish i could have a full free day to mass produce n schedule future chapters. maybe if i keep saying it'll happen, i'll manifest it eventually

the long awaited jangling of keys in the front door has you leaping off the sofa with two fussy babies in tow. you bounce them in your tired arms as you make your way down the hall to greet your husband.

an exhausted but relieved sigh escapes your lips at the familiar sight of the blonde hair you helped him touch up a few days prior when you were blessed with a quiet night.

before atsumu could lean down to kiss you like he always did when he came home, your daughter excitedly babbles, "dada!", big round eyes bright with recognition.

the two of you freeze, eyes wide with surprise, and look at her leaning against your shoulder.

"baby, can you say it again?" tsumu asks softly, almost as if he couldn't believe what he just heard. "who am i?"

"dada!" and with her answer comes a flurry of bubbly giggles, followed by the setter's megawatt smile.

"that's right! i'm your dada! dada's home!" he plucks hana out of your arms to spin her around. then he stops mid-turn and looks you dead in the eye. "that was her first word, right?"

you sigh again, unsuccessfully suppressing a smile of your own in an effort to seem exasperated and jealous, though the latter felt easier to portray for some reason. "yes, tsumu. that was her first word."

the man is ecstatic at your confirmation, cradling his pride and joy to his chest and whispering sugary sweet praises that cracked your half-hearted facade with ease.

apparently, you aren't the only one envious of the exchange as your son begins to wriggle in you grasp. fully expecting ryuki to crawl towards his father like he had before, you set him down on the floor. but of course, the little bugger has a surprise of his own in store; he shakily gets to his feet and wobbles across the small distance until he crashed his face into atsumu's paint leg, grabbing the fabric in his tiny fists for dear life.

this time, tsumu doesn't miss a beat before scooping his son up with his other arm. you laugh at the visual of your husband blubbering into your children's tiny necks as you coo at them internally, still kind of a little bit butthurt over their blatant betrayal of favoritism.

once he calms down, atsumu kisses you properly and leaves you a little more breathless than usual despite your kids sandwiched between you.

“jealous, babe?” he smirks, knowing the answer even before you crossed your arms and pouted at him.

“not at all. and even if i was, i think i’m entitled to be. you aren’t the one who carried them for nine months and gave birth to them after hours of labor.”

“but i am their amazingly cool professional athlete dad. huh, my little prince and princess,” he murmurs as he rains dozens of kisses against their pudgy cheeks.

tinkling laughter fills your ears and your heart with content.

“yea, you really are the best dad.”

“i’m home!” osamu calls from the front door as he trades his outdoor shoes for a pair of house slippers.

“hurry up and bring the food in here! i’m starving!” you holler back amidst your sons’ gurgles and the snapping of plastic against plastic. osamu walks into the dining room, muttering something about no welcome home, and finds you getting ryo and takumi situated in their high chairs so they could eat with you at the dinner table.

“please tell me you didn’t only bring home your funky test fillings. there better be regular fillings in there or so help me, osamu-”

“relax, love,” he interrupts you with a warm hand splayed across your lower back and a reassuring kiss against the side of your head. “of course i made your favorites, too. just in case these testers turn out to be inedible.”

“samu!” you exclaim, mildly worried for your kids’ safety, but ultimately you had full faith in your husband’s cooking. he never fed you anything you didn’t end up liking before, so you entrusted him with your heart and stomach, certain that you could do the same with your sons’.

“it’ll be fine. besides, look how cute the little ones are; i only used three fingers to shape them.” chest warm with affection, you watch osamu’s eyes light up as he eagerly demonstrates his technique for you with an imaginary onigiri. you were the one who helped him open up and express his emotions better, and now, the excitement for his passion clear as day on his face convinced you that you were reaping what you sowed for years.

“i can’t wait to see them, love. though, i still don’t think meatball onigiris are gonna taste the best.”

“see, this predisposed bias is why you aren’t one of my taste-testers anymore.” he sticks his tongue out at you, which you playfully roll your eyes at, while unbagging the riceballs wrapped in parchment paper, saving the few minis for last. peeling away the brown wrapping, you set one in front of each of your boys, watching them take them in the chubby hands and pick off grains of white to shove in their mouths, fingers popping out covered in drool.

ryo pauses his thoughtful chewing, staring at the filling peeking out from underneath the rice. “oni,” he says, almost too quiet for you to catch.

“oni?” you and samu look at each other in confusion as you try to telepathically determine whether ‘demon’ was really his first word or if he just mispronounced ‘older brother,’ which would’ve made for a much cuter story.

your unsaid questions are answered when takumi pipes up beside his twin with a bright and cheery, “giwi!”

“they really are your boys, aren’t they?” you shake your head in amusement.

finding the situation too funny to register the weight of the moment, your mirth-filled gaze finds the stars in osamu’s eyes when the two of you realized their first words were ‘onigiri.’

“yea, they are.”
