"It's rotten work," Ren says. His tail swishes nervously. He has the demeanor of a sad scolded puppy even though no one's scolding him.
False looks up from where she's placing down mud blocks in accordance to the roads that Ren lined out. Ren's theatre kid behaviour must be kicking in now, because to call her work rotten is dramatic and almost insulting.
"It's not rotten to me. There's stuff I would call rotten work, but this is no where near it."
False places down another block. Ren obediently shuffles out of the way.
"Rotten work is when I'm at a tourney and no one's listening to my strategy so I'm left all alone, but then they use my strategy and we actually win while everyone ignores me. Rotten work is when someone sabotages me and I'm the one left to sweep away the pieces. Rotten work is when someone attacks me on purpose and I'm the one who has to apologise for being mad and pacify everyone else. This?" False pulls out another mud block, "is building. And building is not rotten work."
Ren cautiously observes what False is doing, then also pulls out his mud blocks. He moves a few steps forward so he's placing blocks, but out of her way. "It's still work," he admits. "A lot of work, in fact."
False is nonplussed. "But that's what builders do, don't they? And I am the Minister of Transport."
Ren laughs, but it's a quiet laugh. He pauses like he's hesitating, then he mumbles,
"I'm a lot of work."
Now it's False's turn to pause. Her hands continue with placing the blocks, because that's what she does. Building. Grinding. Helping friends out. So on and so forth.
"It's peculiar work for sure," False says, her tone light. "Picking up your stuff when you spontaneously explode. Bugging you about MCC. Teaching you basic colour theory. You can't get orange from blue, Ren. It sadly doesn't work that way."
Ren chuckles at the jab. "Worth a shot, eh?"
False coughs. "Yeah, like I said, peculiar work. But it's fine. I like doing peculiar work because I'm a peculiar person and you're a peculiar person. But together we are normal. Very normal indeed."
Ren considers it. "What if I don't want to be normal?"
"Then we won't be normal."
"What if I want to be normal?"
"Then we'll be normal. Or at least pretend to be."
Ren laughs. "That doesn't make any sense."
False smiles wryly. "Come on now, Ren, when have I ever made any sense?"
He shoots her a grin. "But you're like the most sensible person in the Neighbourhood!"
False lets the silence hang between them for comedic effect. "... No."
"No?"
"If I were sensible, I would've left the Neighourhood long ago."
"Hey!"
"Just kidding. That's why I'm not sensible. That's why I like not being sensible. Besides, I'm not the one who organised the ministry or planned the roads. You did. You're the one with the vision. I'm just following it."
Ren looks around the paths and his tail wags in excitement. "But you're contributing to the vision! I saw the bits and pieces you added! It looks great, by the way!"
False nonchalantly continues placing. "Yeah, you see, that's part of the peculiar work. You draw up the canvas and I edit in the details. It's like how we did the raceway last time."
"Yeah, but I haven't grinded as hard this time around. Too busy with my permit, my dude."
False giggles. "Would you call getting the beacon permit drawing a short straw?"
"I mean, I was the second to die in Demise, but you won and everything worked out in the end, so I don't mind." A pause. "Also gives me a chance to kill those dastardly withers as revenge for all the times they defeated me."
"Right, it's a lot of work to kill them, never mind farm them."
Ren sighs deeply. "There's definitely a lot going on. Especially those buttons, man."
False glances up. They're both still doing the roads. She watches Ren shift up a step and place down a mud brick slab.
"Yeah, but it'll be worth it. I'll buy your beacons. Actually, you can go do your buttons. You can kill some withers. I'll take care of this."
She can almost hear his apologies— sorry that she's doing the roads that he was supposed to do, sorry that he didn't reply to her messages, sorry that he's the way he is.
(And maybe he picks it up too— the way she actually means "I'll take care of you". He always seems to instinctively know what she means under her contradictory and confusing words. In the same way she instinctively knows what he means.)
Ren softly chuckles. "It's peculiar work."
"It's peculiar work especially if it's me, and especially if it's you—"
False sets down a mud brick slab right next to the one Ren placed. Just one slight push, and the pattern of the bricks align like they'd been inseparable from the get go. The corner of her lips quirk up.
"— but that's why I do it."

a/n: this is a rewrite of a blurb i did a while back that i edited to fit mr bob!! while y’all wait for my first bob fic enjoy this in the mean time <3 this is for you @mayhem24-7forever <3
As they said in the olden days, it was hotter than a witches tit outside. But none of that matters in Disney world, because it’s the happiest place on earth, right? That’s exactly how Bob felt right now. As soon as his leave approval hit, Bob had decided easily where he wanted to take his first vacation with (Y/N), after a small altercation revealed the meaning behind the trip.
“You’ve never been to fucking Disney World Robert?” (Y/N) had said, a look mixed between shock and slight anger on her face.
Bob threw his arms up in self defense. “I’m grew up on a farm in rural America in a house of 5 kids! No I haven’t been to Disney world.”
“Being a cowboy isn’t a valid excuse here this time.”
“Ok fine. But blame my parents for this one.”
And so that leads us to now, where they stood in line for Haunted Mansion.
“You want me to go on that?” Bob said, after learning what the ride was truly about.
(Y/N) rolled her eyes affectionately. “Bobby, it’s singing and dancing ghosts. It’s really not that bad I promise. But, I’m not scared but if you are, you can hold my hand.” They teased.
Bob rolled his eyes with a smile and replied, "I’m not scared. Why would I be scared?”
Tell that to the photo the ride captured of Bob’s head in his hands and (Y/N) cackling after Bob let out a shriek when he saw an unexpected ghost.
Later that night, they stood near the sidewalk as the firework show began to play. (Y/N) stood in front of Bob, his arms wrapped around her and his head resting atop her head.
The environment was a bit overwhelming, and the firework show was beautiful, and (Y/N) couldn’t help but let a tear slip out.
Bob noticed as he looked down, and his eyebrows furrowed with concern as he twisted (Y/N) to face him.
“Hey, what’s wrong? Please don’t cry, because if you cry, i’ll cry ─ and that won’t be fun for anyone.”
In awe of his concern, (Y/N) smiled and let out a laugh to let him know it was ok. "No, i’m not crying- well, I am, but it’s ok. Happy tears. I’m just really happy to be here. It reminds me of coming with my family s a kid, but it’s so much better with you. This is the happiest place on earth and with you it really feels that way.”
Bob smiled at her confession. “I love you. And i’m really happy that my fist time here was with you. Thank you for bringing me here.”
“I love you too. Always.” (Y/N) whispered back.
Bob leaned down to press a soft kiss to their lips, and the light of the fireworks reflecting off of them couldn’t have made it anymore picture perfect.

I am begging for more of ‘The Dollhouse’. Butcher is so mean and I love it so much.
Thank you so much, and I'm sorry I haven't updated yet!! Work has been awful the past few weeks, with regular 15 hour days plus work on Saturdays and Sundays as well, so usually all I can do when I come home is eat, and maybe check tumblr for a bit or watch one episode of something, and then I collapse. Sometimes I stare at a document for a few minutes, but I just can't write right now. Things will get better in a few weeks though, and then I'll hopefully get back into writing!

did you just delete all your fics off the archive?? i can't find any of them and i'm freaking out
I didn't delete anything, anon. I did, however, limit my fics on AO3 to registered users so if you're logged out, they won't show. Log into your account and they will all be right where they have always been.
I explained why I did this here, but long story short, AI is ruining everyone's fun yet again. My hope is that this is a temporary measure and as soon as we get some kind of legislation protecting artists from their work being scraped without permission, I'll be able to make everything public again. Just a quick scan through the SPOP tags on ao3 reveal I'm far from the only person who's done this.
To avoid confusion, I have temporarily set a couple of old one shots and one ongoing fic back to public with a message about logging into see the rest. I strategically picked ones from each of my biggest series so hopefully that will catch the stragglers who missed my post so they understand what is going on.

Are Donald Trump and Coriulanus Snow the same?
An essay (or smth) comparing Donald Trump and Coriolanus "Coryo" Snow
Bc I only got one lesson and very specific conditions, so i couldn't really write what I wanted to.
(Just a warning if necessary; this essay contains spoilers for The Hunger Games series, including A Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes)
I think you have seen the memes and posts comparing President Trump with the president from The hunger games that has been circling around the Internet over the past year. Like, the twitter post by @hurncamille that went viral about Rue's death and the riots in district 11, as a response to the controversy surrounding the Black Lives Matter movement. You must at least have seen all the post similar to "were you on the capitols side when [similar thing] happened in The Hunger Games?"
As someone who was a pretty big fan a while back, and has gained new interest after the new book, I thought I could go over it.
Let’s start from the election and go backwards. Trump handled losing pretty badly, I think we could all agree on that. Going to Snow, we don’t know if he actually ever lost an election. In The ballad of songbirds and snakes it seems like the country was somewhat democratic for the people in the capitol. The general feeling about the few comments made about the president and the cabinet was that they were democratically elected, though people did not seem very politically active. They do not seem to have a congress.
There is no way of knowing if there actually were any courts, though I would guess not. Since the arrest and execution of Sejanus Plinth as far as we know was handled by the peacekeepers, it could mean there never was any. Although, it could be argued that since it was about an escape, and therefor maybe a potential rebellion, it was a job for peacekeepers rather than a court for "normal" crimes. But on the other hand, the peacekeepers are the police force and they take care of the prisoners, so having them take care of the entire process could just be the most efficient. It seemed like the school was mainly taking care of the things that went down in the games, since Sejanus and Coryo still were students.
So where was I going with that? Well, the way the US government is built, the Supreme Court can stop laws from happening, meaning that they can stop laws that are making the country go further towards a dictatorship (tho tbh the new judge would probably support a Trump-dictatorship). And also, the congress can stop a president from being president with the process of impeachment. What this means is that it is very hard for someone to gain full dictatorship over the USA. Panem is far less democracy, and does not have anything to really protect the country from a full-on dictator. This means that even if Trump would try his best to become the sole leader of the country, it would be very hard and he would like not live long enough to finish the process.
But let’s play with the thought that he could. We can see how he has done this far in an attempt to keep the power. He accused Biden and the Democrats for voter fraud, which made twitter put warnings on almost every single one of his twitter posts, telling people to not believe it. On the contrary, when Finnick Odair was asked to make propaganda for the rebellion, he started telling a story about poison. According to the rumours Finnick had heard, Snow gave the enemy a poisoned drink and to not wake suspicion he would drink it himself as well. Because of the medicine not always working perfectly, he would always carry roses and use a lot of perfume. In the movie we see a scene like that, but we also know that he killed dean Highbottom using morphine, and the former game leader was forced to eat nightingale berries -- though he chose a different, unspecified way of suicide. Other than that, Katniss mentions that he always smells like a combination of something sweet and metal, further proving the rumours to be true.
Moving on, there was a scandal a while back where Trump used the campaign money to buy a lot of copies of his own book, meaning he used donated campaign money to give himself more. There has also been a lot of things about him trying to sue people for criticism about his wealth (and other stuff). And then there is also the small amount of taxes he has paid during his presidency. This does point at money being the driving factor of the things he does, contrary to it being power.
This is something that could possibly be argued about Snow as well, since he in a ballad of songbirds and snakes was very poor due to the family’s factories being in district 13, which had been destroyed completely. The thing about this is that he hides it by simply saying what others want to hear, and lying of course. He also tries to become an officer among the peacekeepers, which gives more power. Although, it’s probably better payed as well.
In the main book series, Snow seem more concerned with keeping the power, and he tries to scare Katniss into obeying him. Personally, I think it would've been more effective to give her money, since she never wanted to be the face of the rebellion (I could probably write an entirely new essay on how Katniss never really did anything to save anyone besides herself and the people closest to her and somehow is praised like a hero, and Mare Barrow from Red Queen always tried to do what’s best for everyone but is always met with scepticism). Allthough, he was probably scared that the money would fund them, whether directly or indirectly. And if he lost his position of power he would probably lose the money aswell. He would die, obviously, but that might not be the case with his granddaughter.
On the other hand, he is only really seen caring for her in the movie, and part of his character development in ABOSAS is that he doesn’t allow himself to get attached to anyone, which is the reason he marries Livia Cardew. So, he might not actually love her. And therefor, since he was close to death, didn’t care to much anymore.
Lastly, my personal opinion. I HATE Trump, and I can’t say i like Snow either, but there is a difference. A lot of the things I read in A ballad of songbirds and snakes made me respect him. He was at the absolute bottom, but he became the most powerful person in the entire country. I obviously do not respect his morals, but his dedication and intelligence. But just to be clear, I would not have liked him if I actually lived in Panem. Trump on the other hand, does not seem to have ever worked for anything. He got the buissness empire from his dad, and the only reason why he won the election is because he somehow is charming enough to have collected a bunch of stans (and people disliked Hillary Clinton too).
We dont know if Suzanne Collins had Trump in mind when writing The hunger games series, and i find it unlikely. On the other hand, you can absolutley use it against him! I would not advice it though, because at this point it’s probably more of a compliment.
TL:DR; Trump is a stupid piece of shit, and Snow is an intellegent piece of shit.

is marble hornets related to creepypasta?
all i remember is the jeff dude
Hi! So, that's actually a really strange topic because of how weirdly complicated it can get, and I'm probably not the best person to explain it, but I'll try my best!
Tldr:
Marble Hornets is an ARG that based around the Slenderverse but isn't exactly a Creepypasta. Since it's based around the Slenderverse though, people in the Creepypasta fandom tend to take inspiration and use some concepts from Marble Hornets in their own universe. So it's pretty related to Creepypasta, especially when it comes to Slenderman himself because people tend to use two characters from the ARG frequently with him by making them work together.
~ More detailed explanation under the cut. It got a bit long so I'm sorry about that- I swear I tried to keep it short to the best of my abilities ~
(Also please keep in mind that my last fandom interactions were around like three or four years ago before I left the Creepypasta/Marble Hornets fandom to go to PKMN, so take what I say specifically with what has to do with the fandoms with a grain of salt as these things are prone to change over the years and I haven't really gotten back into the fandom side of things with MH or CRP yet <;3)
So-
Marble Hornets is a Slenderverse/Slenderman Mythos ARG (Alternate reality game), that, it in itself, is not actually a Creepypasta and the majority of the MH fandom keep to their own tags/the ARG tags rather than the Creepypasta tags.
But because of MH being heavily influenced by Slenderman, who is a Creepypasta, Creepypasta fans tend to take inspiration or even just use the same basic plot points that MH does, also sometimes using the same characters. A prime example being the side effects of Slendersickness and the characters Masky and Hoodie.
Although Masky and Hoodie are where things get very complicated and weird at this point, and it's like the characters have two different versions of them when it comes to what side of the fandom you're on- I can go into more details about the differences the creepypasta fandom had with the characters VS the canon characters in Marble Hornets later if you'd like, but I won't do that right now because that'd be a long side tangent as it's this whole other thing to get into.
Anyways, while the Marble Hornets fandom doesn't really mix with Creepypasta that often, if you ever go into the Creepypasta side then you'll see tons of things inspired or referencing Marble Hornets, lots of things that is deeply embedded in the 'canon' lore of creepypasta with Slendersickness and all that that originates from MH, and also characters who are from MH being used in their universes (Which, last I checked, the MH creators are okay with MH being used in CRP, so that's all good-)
So I'd say, Marble Hornets is pretty relevant and related to Creepypasta all things considered-
It's also a good ARG. If you have like nine hours to spare, I'd recommend watching it if you're interested-
