Your opinion on vampires. Are they actually real?
Is this one of those situations like Santa Claus where if I say I don't believe in them then they'll stop giving me presents every St. Walpurgisnacht?
Really, though, my answer is a mostly no, at least as far as the supernatural aspect of them goes.
I believe that most legends of vampires boil down to superstition to explain such things as plagues and serial killings, and the more modern interpretations due to good old fashioned Christian superstition used to villify people they didn't agree with and or wanted a reason to invade.
Many of the non-christian myths can be used for the reason of sickness that couldn't be comprehended at the time be that disease such as a sudden outbreak of a virus or chronic conditions like someone who was pale due to a lack of iron or the like.
Where the blood drinking comes in is due, perhaps not solely, but largely, to the Christian movements starting with Constantine and continuing around the time of the crusades and such things as the Spanish Inquisition and similar things throughout history as they were trying to find work arounds for their own texts and original teachings to give them an excuse for violence, most likely as a means of revenge for their persecution during the Roman era, especially the reign of Caesar Nero. Sort of "an eye for an eye" at it's most extreme, becoming the very thing that persecuted them. One of the ways they did this was try to accuse peoples of sin that the teachings of Jesus and the reappropriated Jewish Torah had to speak of. They would accuse non-believers of a sin or multiple sins to get unknowning common folk who didn't have the means of travel to verify, thinking that they were actually helping by taking over and restructuring these "savage" cultures. Then, when people started to realize that the people from other countries weren't committing these sins, the powers that be changed the sin being accused until they ran through almost any one they could think of, including the sin of drinking blood, which some cultures might have actually participated in, but in the same way as killing an animal to eat it's meat for survival and not for some sick enjoyment.
They didn't just accuse people of being sinful, as if your still a person the human nature to understand would still be prevalent and people would look into the culture as well as they could before accusing of wrong doing, and sin, even by the Christian conquerers' standards could still be atoned for in some way or another. So, they had to say that they were irredeemable monsters, people that sold their souls to the devil, descendants of the witch Lilith who was the first human to disobey God, who would eat your children from their cradles if they were destroyed as soon as possible. So, fearmongering was so burned into the common zeitgeist that it never truly went away and morphed into legend. And, legend in turn, was romanticized with the coming of disproving knowledge.
History lesson aside, I would say my answer is a, "Mostly no." I think that it is most likely legend, but it is foolish to count those legends and their information as completely false; much like how many people scoffed at the idea of vikings claiming that the bones of animals blessed their forging and at the native people of The Easter Islands for saying the heads walked to their spot, only for both of them to be true by means of bone forging being proved to add density to the metal it was striking and the stone heads being moved side to side while being pulled as if they were walking, and mysticism being added by misunderstanding.
tldr: they probably don't, but the chances are not an absolute zero.

GRIMDARK mode is described by Doc scratch as “going completely off the deep end in every way”.
It turns your skin an unnatural dark gray, and in rose’s case to be surrounded by a dark aura, while jade had a spacey green aura.
It’s basically a black magic power up deeply connected to the horroterrors, a state of mind that comes from letting them influence a broken mind.
For Rose, it was the death of her mother, and then trying to reveal the horror terror’s secrets.
For Jade, she was heartbroken, but also she got mind controlled into entering the grimdark state by the condesce, who is also connected to the horrorterrors.
As an extra, Hussie described Eridan as also going into grimdark when he began murdering people, tho his case must’ve been more symbolical, as he presented the perfect scenario to become grimdark, the complete loss of hope, waiting for Jack to kill them all (due to his title being prince of hope, ergo Destroyer of hope) added to Feferi breaking their moiraliance talking with Sollux, being the detonator for his broken mind, and him being a Derse player, so his dream self was around the horroterrors and had interacted with them prior, he was also interested in magic like rose, had a wand just like her and sought for answers about, like her. He just lacked the connection to the horroterrors in that crucial moment.
So Grimdark is basically when the horroterrors cause the player's most primal and violent tendencies to be pushed to the forefront
The grimdark is also described a “the fabled blackdeath trance of the woegothics”.
So a dark trance that people like Rose and Eridan are inclined to fall victim of (in my opinion)
TRICKSTER mode, in the other hand, is described by Calliope as something that brings out your full potential, that brings all your walls down and puts all your inner thoughts in the outside and all your creative power in your hands. It strips you from all social and mental barrier.
It gives you reality altering Powers, allowing you to jump from place to place, probably dimension hopping, manifest objects and makes you super happy and candy colored to the point of losing grip in reality
The problem is that cherubs are very different from humans.
For a cherub, who is supposed to fly around in the endless space protecting/destroying a certain part of the void, and its inhabited planets, feeding of black holes, fighting entities to death to ultimately mate in the shape of a big ass snake, a juju that’s basically drugs that can make you forget every wall you built up floating around space alone, and move forward as a happy missile ready to find a mate sounds good.
But humans are social creatures, and cherubs are not. Cherubs don’t answer to anyone and don’t have Friends, they don’t need to follow any social cues.
Humans built their relationships carefully, and they have secrets and barriers to protect themselves and others.
They hide things like crushes and resentment and problems, because well, for the sake of peace, for the sake of not braking every relationship they have. That’s something that Calliope and Caliborn never fully grasped and understood why the kids came to hate the juju when they woke up
So that’s all I could gather. Essentially they are different kinds of power ups, opposite to one another at their core, BUT in both the person isn’t fully there and is being guided by primal instincts, be it rage/sadness or Hope/happiness and they both have consequences in the user because neither is supposed to be used on humans or even trolls.

Who is your favorite driver?: it's Charlie, sue me. There's just something about this man that intrigues me too much, something so tragic, so poetic, etc. etc.
Do you have other favorite drivers?: Yuki and Lewis 100%!!!!! I generally like most drivers though if their vibes aren't too abysmal.

BI for the writer ask meme! (that I picked those two questions was a coincidence, but appropriate nonetheless lol)
B- What was the first fandom you read fic in? Which was the first you wrote fic for?
First one I read fic for… probably Sailor Moon? Or Chrono Trigger? That would have been back in, like, 1998 hahaha. Those were the two I would have sought out on my own, that’s for sure. And writing, definitely Chrono Trigger for some small things, but the first fandom I was REALLY into the fandom of, like had a community, read fic, wrote fic, was super active—that was Ronin Warriors. Probably 1999-2000 or so. My fanfic from this time was abjectly the most terrible shit ever created AND I STILL HAVE IT. Someday I should do a dramatic reading of some of the worst parts, it’s HILARIOUS.
I- How many fandoms have you written in? Do you have a favorite?
I had to check AO3 for this, and the answer is: over 30. Favorites… hm. Back in the day, Gundam Wing was a HUGE fandom for me. I remember that was when we had shit like pairing-specific websites, and personal sites, and webrings (lol) and despite me being a baby in high school who was NOT a good writer yet, I got put on a lot of rec lists simply, I suspect, because I was writing very long, plotty fics (nothing has changed). I felt sooooo cool!! Haha and then after that, I suppose my favorite was my JPOP idol fandom from 2010-2012. That fandom was A DUMPSTER TRASH FIRE and honestly I HATED it by the end, but while it was good, I was so fucking involved in it. We had anon memes, and running jokes, and I moderated some large communities on Livejournal. When it fell apart, it was like detonating a bomb on my life, so the love/hate relationship with that one is strong. But I really did love it, for a time. I hadn’t been super in a fandom since then, due to how badly it all ended, until wrestling. I like this fandom, but it’s gotten really splintered and fractured and the engagement issue persists like the plague; however, being on tumblr is something I really like about it. It feels like we can find each other easier than the LJ days.

You know, I’ve been writing — creatively, for the sheer love of it — since I was about nine years old, and I still have no idea how to answer this.
Writing is... freedom. It’s a compulsion. It’s stepping out of my own head, and stepping deeper into my own head, and running away from my feelings, and pinning my feelings to a page and making them squirm a little harder. I love the rush of it, when the words are simply tumbling out of me (when I feel like I have nothing to do with them at all, like I’m a conduit, a vessel). I love the satisfaction of it, when the words have — in contrast — being nothing but endlessly fucking difficult, and then I suddenly-finally-Christ reach the point where I can sit back and go, “yes, now it’s finished! this is the story it was supposed to be!!”
ngl, I do also really love that something so wildly escapist — so very intentionally Not About Me — is still somehow one of the best ways to make me feel more like I actually exist as a me outside of, I don't know, the me-everyone-else-needs-me-to-be me.
16. What’s the weirdest thing you’ve ever used as a bookmark?
I do try to use Actual Bookmarks these days (or, well, scrap paper, at least), but — to be honest — I’m always been so prone to Grabbing Whatever Is At Hand that I’m not actually 100% sure what counts as weird. Like, leaves and feathers and ribbons and (unopened) band-aids and things like that don’t seem particularly weird. Cup coasters maybe are?
The probably-weirdest thing I can remember using to be on purpose strange was a piece of (found) dried snake skin, which I know was my bookmark of choice for a little while. (Yes, I have a genuine and inconvenient phobia of snakes; yes, it made me feel some kind of tough; yes, being a teenager is honestly hard.)

Pretty sure I mostly break writing rules by mistake, rather than on purpose, haha. Though, yeah, I do get a whole lot of pleasure from making the conscious choice to allow myself to select what I think of as poetry-choices rather than grammar rules. Unfortunately, I then also feel like a pretty big wanker/poser, which means I don't let myself do it as often as I probably should. :joy:
If we’re talking specific rules, though… IDK, I have been having some fun lately poking the odd hole in “show, don’t tell”. Sometimes, it turns out, it’s actually really kind of nice to simply say the damn thing.

🧑🦰 - Have they ever dyed their hair? Ever cut it themself?
Hmm this is probably a more loaded question than people might think. On the lighter side I've joked that oh yeah didn't ed dye his hair black because of that meme a while back remember when your whole city had a goth phaseeee. I would also assume he cuts his own hair because he is cheap af.
But it's loaded because growing up Ed did have long hair and was forced to conform to a certain image upon becoming capital. Having long hair would have been culturally significant to him and having it cut and keeping it short has a painful cultural impact that still affects him to this day, so his relationship with having long hair has become... complicated to say the least.
🗣️ - How do they handle public speaking?
Ed has had over a century to practice public speaking and I think while he has improved he's rarely been good at getting people to listen to him or take him seriously. He was a lot more withdrawn near the turn of the 20th-21st centuries and only within the last decade or so has he actually taken more of an interest in a leadership role (though less of the province and more of other big and mid-sized cities across the country). He's trying to get away from the lecturing approach he usually took in the past but it's hard to shake sometimes.
🤔 - What’s something they’ll never understand?
the rest of the province, lol. how he condemned himself to lead such a contrary annoying bunch and whether it was worth it.
💖 - How and how often do they try to impress their partner(s)? How and how often do their partner(s) impress them?
This is something that depends on which of us is writing the canon probably hahaha. I only vaguely gesture at Ed's romantic history on the blog and generally leave it for others (read: Quatsch and Windex) to interpret and explore haha.
when he was younger he definitely tried changing a lot about himself to be whatever he thought someone wanted, which i suppose is understandable because his time to figure himself out was strewn with obstacles anyway. he has a tendency to get stuck in uneven relationships where one person is the object of admiration and the other is bending over backwards to be acknowledged (and has probably been on both ends of that spectrum)
Nowadays I like to think he's sort of growing out of that and is focusing much more on figuring himself out and that has the happy side effect of impressing people without having to try as hard. He still gets flustered and self conscious when he realizes something he's doing is "lame" or "stupid" though, even though he's trying harder not to hide pieces of himself under bad habits.

Fan Fic Writer 20 Questions
I was tagged by @unmaskedcardinal! Aw yissss I love these thank you! Putting this under a cut because I never shut up on ask memes, sorry
How many works do you have on Ao3?
Just 10! And at least uh... 6? Of those are drabbles or shorter fics. It probably should be 11, because years ago I deleted an unfinished fic, not because I didn't like it anymore or was ashamed of it, but just because it was unfinished. But we'll talk about that more later I think.
What's your total Ao3 word count?
63,621. Not bad, I suppose.
How many fandoms have you written for and what are they?
On AO3, only 4, but more than that, I assure you. On AO3 it's Overwatch, Rise of the Guardians, The Adventure Zone, and Legend of Zelda. But during high school I wrote a LOT of Kingdom Hearts fic, and before that I wrote some Avatar: The Last Airbender fic. And there have been various little oneshots or drabbles in assorted other fandoms, but those are the big ones!
What are your top five fics by kudos?
Gonna do it in countdown mode because that's fun:
5: Familiarity, a collection of Bunnymund/Toothiana drabbles that originated as my answers for them for a domesticity meme. I'm actually pretty surprised this is within the top 5, haha!
4: Costume Change, a short Symmetra/Pharah drabble I wrote for @5idestuff once upon a time!! The two of them being flirty cuties at a Halloween party.
3: Triptych, a 3-part D.Va/Lucio/Junkrat soulmate AU fic! Only 2/3 done unfortunately. The first part is how the three of them meet and the second part is how the three of them come together, learn more about each other, and how their ideals clash. The third part if I ever finish it will be... well, it's hard to really say without spoiling stuff but it'll be essentially how they come back together and reconcile.
2: Old Habits, a very (currently) unfinished attempt at making a Symmetra/Genji slow-burn long fic that's also a globe-trotting adventure that emphasizes platonic relationships. I absolutely know how it ends, and I have a LOT of scattered ideas of what happens in-between where I left off and there, but I don't know the exact ORDER it all goes in. And also, Blizzard sort of took a big ol' dump on my enthusiasm for Overwatch related things but fuck do I still love this ship, haha.
1: Heart to Heart to Heart, a The Adventure Zone: Balance kind of 'missing scene' fic about Tres Horny Bois being each other's found family and BEST FRANNNNDS 4 LYFE. I'm actually really happy that my most highly kudos'd fic is the one about the totally platonic/familial relationship. Don’t read unless you’ve finished listening to The Eleventh Hour arc of the podcast.
Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
ABSOLUTELY I DO. It can take me months but I just gotta thank people for taking the time to write something. (also, you can make friends through commenting on fic. Take it from me and my bestie of 10+ years.
What's the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?
Overall? Probably some of my Kingdom Hearts fics from back when I was a teenager and I apparently hadn’t figured out Everyone Lives/No One Dies AUs existed yet. But in terms of what's on AO3, I'd say where Triptych is right now (end of chapter 2) is probably the angstiest.
Do you write crossovers?
Kiiiiiiind of? I mean, Kingdom Hearts is a giant Disney-Final Fantasy crossover, and I think it greatly influenced my taste in crossovers. It think I can only really write fic for it if a) the original canons take place in similar enough settings or b) it's complete crack and I'm not taking it seriously at all.
Have you ever received hate on a fic?
Not hate, to the best of my memory, but I remember I once got a probably like... overly harshly critical comment on an A:TLA fic way back in the day when I was like a very young teen. And someone being like "um actually I do NOT like this extremely self-indulgent crack ship of yours and preferred THIS OTHER one you wrote."
Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Only in VERY rare and occasional circumstances. I kind of jokingly call myself demi-smutual, in that I need to be very emotionally attached to a ship to write porn of them. And uhh... what kind? Not sure what that means exactly, but I'd probably say I'm only capable of writing what I've seen called 'safe, sane, and consensual'. And I will almost certainly be too embarrassed to post it publicly SORRY Y'ALL.
Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not.........exactly I don't think? I seem to remember back in my FF.net days checking if a crackship I had in the Twilight fandom (TWILIGHT of all things y'all) had any fics besides mine, and there was a drabble that I think used some of the same... phrasing as mine? It was weird. I could probably look it up to see if it's still there, but I'm too lazy for that.
There was one time on Livejournal when I remember someone used a lot of the same songs as I did on a fanmix in the same fandom as me, but I was even more allergic to confrontation back then than I am now, and I probably figured "well I can't PROOOVE they copied me! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯"
Luckily no straight up word-for-word plagiarism, as far as I know.
Have you ever had a fic translated?
No! I'd be honoured if it ever happens though.
Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Not really! Triptych is connected to the same fic universe (ficverse?) as a couple of @noirsongbird‘s soulmate Overwatch fics, but we didn't cowrite any of it, other than like, checking that they're canon to each other sorta!!!!
What’s your all time favourite ship?
Honestly my go-to answer for this question is Okikurmi/Amaterasu from Okami, but I've never really written fic for them!
What’s a WIP you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?
The mysterious 11th work that I mentioned earlier was a Bunnymund/Toothiana slowburn fic that was basically me taking what I knew of the book lore from what I'd read on the internet and transferring it into the world of the movie, but I eventually decided I didn't really want to trust just internet summaries and would want to read the books myself. Ever since then I've thought maybe I would return to it if I ever actually read the books, but that hasn't happened yet! Although... I have been sort of blanking on anything for my Christmas list. I, a 30 year old woman, can ask for a series of children's novels for Christmas right??? Maybe? Anyway.
What are your writing strengths?
Fuck. Shit. UHHH. My inner critic always makes this and the weaknesses question difficult. But I'm going to go with characterization. I've been cursed to fall in love with incredibly minor characters since I was at LEAST 12, and been making up their personalities and backstories whole cloth for them. I just really enjoy thinking about characters and what they are consistent about and what they are more flexible about! Thinking about their interactions and shit.
What are your writing weaknesses?
UHH. SHIT. Fuck. Does confidence, or rather, lack thereof, count? Sometimes, especially recently, I think I just overthink too much while I'm writing and get worried about like... "have I used said to many times. has this character smiled and nodded too many times. this is probably so BLAND". I used to be a lot more confident as a teenager but that was probably at least partially due to the fact that all teenagers are at least a little stupid. (If you are a teenager and you reading this, it's true. You'll realize it eventually. Hopefully.)
What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in another language?
Not sure what this question means, exactly? Like, writing a character sometimes saying dialogue in another language? If a character is canonically bilingual, I imagine it only makes sense for the character to sometimes shift languages, especially if they aren't thinking about what's coming out of their mouth. I think I've only done it recently in a couple of Overwatch fics, and they're generally short phrases of greeting, or in one case a prayer. Idk, I think it's fine, but like most things in writing, be careful not to overuse it.
What was the first fandom you ever wrote for?
I think it was Neopets!
What’s your favourite fic you’ve ever written?
There's actually a couple of Kingdom Hearts fics from my Livejournal days that spring immediately to mind. I haven't reread them in years but just the process of writing and finishing them was something I was very proud of. In terms of what's on my AO3, Heart to Heart to Heart is probably my favourite - it came out pretty much exactly as it was in my head. I'm also really fond of at least the first three chapters of Old Habits. The fourth is okay, but in my mind it's very clearly written after my enthusiasm for Blizzard and thus Overwatch waned. idk maybe it's just me!!

Honestly? Definitely my Jay/Nya work. I pretty much never draw any sort of ship art (other than Cry/Cole), and it sorta surprised me how I spontaneously created a piece on it. It wasn’t until I listened a Hozier song that the inspiration struck me and I started working on it. Also I suppose I love s15 and that contributed as well.
🦅 If you were to create something Zane-themed, what would it be?
This is tough LMAO. Zane’s gone through so much traumatic situations it’s really hard to pinpoint just one thing. It would probably most definitely be ice emperor related, though. The Ninjago writers underutilized this plot point so much so it’s only fair that I bring it some justice, eh?

1. Art programs you have but don't use: Clip Studio Paint!! I pretty much ONLY use it for the grid and text feature, otherwise I don't like the workflow haha
2. Is it easier to draw someone facing left or right (or forward even): Drawing in profile is the same to me from either direction, but for 3/4 view, I naturally gravitate towards / find it easier to draw people facing left
3. What ideas come from when you were little: Since I've been into Aveyond for so long, and that's what I mostly draw, I have a lot of ideas that pretty much originated as "I wanted to draw this as a kid and didn't have the skill to"!

5. Estimate of how much of your art you post online vs. the art you keep for yourself: Finished art I'd say I share a good 90% of it! Once we get into sketches... hoo boy, maybe 40%?
6. Anything that might inspire you subconsciously (i.e. this horse wasn't supposed to look like the Last Unicorn but I see it): Whatever this is, it's either too specific to the piece or too subconscious for me to think of it
7. A medium of art you don't work in but appreciate: traditional illustration, painting, watercolor...

What's an old project idea that you've lost interest in: A heads up that my answer to this is sad but I'm trying to talk about this type of stuff relatively openly, so: spring 2021, I watched Willy's Wonderland for the first time w/ Ishti + Moonie; we kept talking about a Galahad & Mel AU for it. I had two pictures for it planned, and I drew one of them, and... the timing worked out where Moonie never got to see it, and I've lost the motivation to do the second one. But I like the first one and I'm glad I drew it and I take some comfort/peace in the fact that I was working on something I was excited to share with her at the time.
9. What are your file name conventions: I have a folder for all my art, a subfolder for every year, and then a subfolder for every month, which means there isn't that much overlap! so unless I have a funny title idea my file name conventions are generally pretty straightforward: "mella1.sai", "teijalahad.sai", "teijalstudy.sai" etc etc
10. Favorite piece of clothing to draw: Does armor count? If not, gambesons.
11. Do you listen to anything while drawing? If so, what: Yes!!! Pretty much always music, occasionally video essays. Usually I'll pick a song and play it on loop, or if I'm in the mood for more variety I'll pick a playlist or an artist and listen through that. I also really like drawing while on call with people.
12. Easiest part of body to draw: I'm so sorry for my answer. Boobs.
13. A creator who you admire but whose work isn't your thing: I'm not sure I have an answer for this one, actually - there's a lot of artists I like the work of who I wouldn't want to emulate, but that feels different to me?
14. Any favorite motifs: Not really, in theory I really love flowers but I almost never draw them
15. *Where* do you draw (don't drop your ip address this just means do you doodle at a park or smth): I used to draw pretty much everywhere, but post chronic pain it's my desk only because using a tablet hurts wayyy less than a sketchbook!
16. Something you are good at but don't really have fun doing: Landscapes / natural areas from photographs lol
17. Do you eat/drink when drawing? if so, what: Water ALL the time, coffee if it lines up properly
18. An estimate of how much art supplies you've broken: Very few!! Probably less than 10. I mostly draw digitally

21. Art styles nothing like your own but you like anyways: Honestly the art styles unlike mine that I like tend to be ones... I wish I had... I'm really drawn to realistic, somber, softer stuff

27. Do you warm up before getting to the good stuff? If so, what is it you draw to warm up with: I tend to warm up by drawing a headshot of the character I'm going to be drawing, but lately I've been trying to shift to warm ups that are more focused on like, the action of drawing and loosening up
28. Any art events you have participated in the past (like zines): I participated in a zine that ended up not happening, and I've done several fandom exchanges!! Mostly the Aveyond Winter Exchange, but also the Oneshot Podcast Network exchange on AO3 (yeah it was AO3 but I did art for it)
29. Media you love, but doesn't inspire you artistically: Infinity Train!!! absolutely adore it, the art style doesn't really inspire me at all & because I got into it in the thick of my hand pain I never got used to drawing it

Hooray for more uncensored swearing! Sorry, this took so long! It’s hard to think of things for the Autumn Troupe since I don’t know them super well!

Whenever it's time for practice, Banri begins by smacking the back of Juza's head! (Not super hard, but enough for it to piss him off)
Diluc main, that is all. Before he got Diluc he was an Amber main, and somehow was good. Still uses her every once in a while!

Plays the ukulele! He wanted to play guitar because he saw someone serenading their partner with it at school! He borrowed Masumi's guitar but bar chords suck and his hands are kinda small, so he settled for the uke!

This is basically a huge infodump on my thoughts about the first episode, because I doubt y’all want to sift through my trauma-ridden ramblings. I’ll make another post for the rest. This is just everything not related to the IW stuff/my reaction to that. It’s general thoughts, theories, musings.
1. When Loki gets first taken into the TVA. Is that Peggy Carter in the background? Others have suggested it might be. What would that mean??? Will we see the TVA fix the mess the Russos made with Steve/Peggy (not likely) or is it just a lookalike? Who knows..
2. A skrull at the main intake desk! Idk not super relevant just interesting!
3. I’m kind of glad they changed the... uncomfortable scene... with the robot burning his clothes off. He gets more time to react to seeing the machine itself, and he seems more shocked (”Now.. H-hang on just a minute.”) than angry (”Now hang on just a minute!”) i still feel.. horrible for him, i’m glad nobody Saw him and that the machine didn’t grab the clothes off, but still. Ehhh.. uncomfortable.
He is beautiful though, don’t get me wrong - I’d just prefer a shirtless Loki scene where he wants to be shirtless? let him do what he wants with his body?? he’s probably felt so out of control of his body, from being jotun to falling through space that any invasion of privacy like that hits extra deep...
That being said, I recognize the utility of the scene for the narrative - his lack of control, his literally being stripped of what he was before.
4. WHO IS THE MAN WITH THE CAT. What is his name. I love that he has a mug with his cat on it. But I want to know more. Who is he?
4.1 WHY DIDNT YOU LET LOKI PET THE CAT Please,,, I am begging you,,, let loki pet the cat and have something react kindly to him and purr all happily at his scratching behind their ears plea s e
5. The info sheet. Now this is just a little nitpicky tidbit, but in a previous promo they listed Loki’s height as 6′4 ft and weight as 525 lbs. This is taken directly from the comics if I’m not mistaken. However, in the actual show he’s listed as 6′2 (Tom’s height and Loki’s presumed height) but I don’t remember if his weight is the same. Is Loki 6′2? 6′4? please let me know i want to know how smol i am in comparison
6. His little aggressive shaking of the ticket at the guard makes me giggle each time.
7. The fact the turnstile hits so low on him reminds me,, I am short compared to him. Those things hit my stomach/waist. That one hit his legs. I am once again asking Loki to pick me up.
8. The cartoon with Miss Minutes introducing the TVA is wonderful, I love the art style especially. But it raises questions about Variants... I guess Variants can just, pop out of nowhere? Any action could be the wrong one? And then once you commit the wrong action you either get returned or pruned? Yikes??? And THIS ties into another thing later!
9. The trial scene. I have a hunch - a feeling, a suspicion. That one of three things may be true.
A. The Time-Keepers never actually existed. They’re fabricated, and now whoever runs the TVA is actually using the excuse of “The Time-Keepers decree it so!!!” to carry out whatever They think is right. The fact we haven’t seen the Time-Keepers makes me.. suspicious...
B. The Time-Keepers existed, but they have since passed on, however that may have happened. Now someone is doing the same as above, using the excuse of the Time-Keepers apparent dictations to run things.
C. The Time-Keepers do exist, and do run the timeline/TVA, but maybe they’re not infallible? Maybe the TVA info video is lying or incomplete in some way? Idk I just feel like, something about the TVA and how they run things has to be wrong. It has to? Something is off. Again, this will tie into another thought later...
I have no idea if any of these are actually true! But Loki’s questions of “Who’s in charge here? What do they do? What do you do?” punctuated by laughter leads me to believe he’s suspecting something too, or perhaps just trying to figure this mess out.
10. Seiðr/Magic. We see in this scene, Loki’s magic (”powers”) don’t work in the TVA. (and a quick side note, did he have to Flex like that? do you have to make me see Loki’s bare arms Flex like that? be still my heart. anyway please get that collar off of him and let him rest for five minutes) This makes me wonder.. Why isn’t Loki in his Jotun form? His pale skin and blue eyes are decided by magic, are they not? I suppose this is 2012, so perhaps Odin’s magic is keeping Loki looking like that. But if magic doesn’t work in the TVA, why would his spell reach so far? Clearly Loki’s magic isn’t what’s doing it. How is Loki not appearing as a Jotun? Is his Jotun form repressed - is pale skin his default now, rather than something hidden by magic? I need answers!
11. he sounds so scared about being “reset” please dont hurt him,,
12. cALLING LOKI A PUSSYCAT? (lokitty confirmed) I think Mobius was goading him (Mobius strikes me.. As extremely clever. He’s trying to push Loki’s buttons to see who he’s dealing with. At least, I hope so. Because if he really meant that “You were born to cause pain and suffering and death... All so that others can achieve the best versions of themselves.” and that line about killing Frigga??? No no no he is not guilty. He had no way of knowing what would happen. It wasn’t right to send Algrim up to Asgard (i think algrim wouldve found the way up anyway) but there was no intent to hurt Frigga. I really hope you’re trying to goad him, Mobius, because if you believe that I trust you much less. anyway i digress) but wow is he pushing Loki’s buttons a lot. I can’t... Blame him entirely, I understand he’s trying to make sure Loki’s on his side, maybe I’m just too soft for Loki idk. But some of that was very cruel to say. /:
12.1 AND ANOTHER THING ABOUT MOBIUS. That scene with the girl in the church?? Did that little girl kill the men? Is that young Sylvie? Or is she using an illusion to make herself look young and innocent? What’s going on!!!!
13. LOKI SNATCHING THE LITTLE TIME-TWISTER DEVICE AND STOWING IT IN HIS POCKET.... POCKET....... sorry sometimes i get so caught up about loki that i just say random words in between little noises and squeals,,, i am a silly thing
14. CASEY. CASEY??? That whole exchange is funny. Poor Loki, just trying to intimidate this guy so he can escape but - Casey doesn’t know what a fish is. to be fair.... thor doesn’t seem to know what a raccoon is... right?
15. That bit with the infinity stones is kind of funny until you realize
A. Natasha died for a paperweight
B. Tony died from paperweights
C. Loki was tortured for paperweights
D. Oh, and Gamora died for a paperweight too. And Vision. Need I go on?
Then it becomes less of exclusively “haha funny” and now it’s a mix of funny and pain and gosh, is that a good way to sum up being a Marvel/Loki fan sometimes...
16. Loki gazing at the timeline all “Is this the most powerful thing in the universe?” or something, i’m sorry i don’t remember exactly... made me think of a meme and i shall make it presently.
17. I love that Loki got to see examples of how his family loves him but the fact he’s all “I can’t go back.” really just breaks me. It’s like he can finally see they love him after all of this mess, and now he doesn’t have the chance. Please, please let him be happy. Give him some relief. This is the Loki that just came off finding out about being Jotun, falling from the Bifrost, encountering Thanos, attacking Earth, facing defeat, and now he’s being thrashed around in this wild place and has just found out he inadvertently caused Frigga’s death (he did not kill her: his actions, by mistake, lead to her murder, let me be very clear) AND Odin will die AND all the rest... And he wants to be with them.
18. Loki’s reaction to Thor suggesting the hug makes me soft. Please I want to hug this little mischief man so so so bad-
19. Skipping over the iw parts! That’s for another post because this one will be grossly long anyway.
20. “I don’t enjoy hurting people.” and “It's part of the illusion. It's the cruel, elaborate trick conjured by the weak to inspire fear. A desperate play for control.” was all so, so validating. I’ve been trying to argue on Loki’s behalf for almost a solid decade. Seeing the show recognize that Loki’s not all just violence and hurting for “fun”, that he’s not unhinged and bloodthirsty.. Is so nice. It’s just so, so comforting. and it gives me hope for future episodes that they won’t go the route of “oh haha loki bullied and mistreated and stabbed thor for years!!! :)” loki cries during basically every fight with Thor and you want me to believe he stabs Thor for fun? absolutely not.
21. Theory.. Just another hunch.. So we know a fugitive variant, aka Loki, is running amok. Refer back to 8 and 9.C. What if the Time-Keepers never actually fixed the timeline into a single timeline? What if there are other timelines, and these different Loki variants have hopped over to the current one? Or, maybe the Time-Keepers did fix the timeline into a single one, and these Lokis are remnants from that huge time-war at the beginning? Time runs differently in relative spaces, they may have Just Left that war from their perspective!
I say Lokis and not Loki because we’re pretty sure there’s Female/Lady Loki, Old Man/King Loki, and possibly Young/Kid Loki. That’s at least three. From the peeks of Asgard and NYC we’ve seen from the trailers, I think we’re also getting an Asgardian King!Loki and Midgardian King/Vote!Loki. (unless our dearest variant is hopping into timelines and situating into them, but I doubt Mobius would let that happen..?) That’s five.
To further support this, keep in mind, I believe recently six (i think 6 regular and 6 rare...) different funko pops were announced for the series? I’m not sure if they’re in addition to the Loki and Mobius already released. If they are, there’s enough room for each Loki and maybe a TVA agent. One of the pops is supposed to have a buddy/companion I think? Maybe they’re making the cat guy into one, or maybe there’s something else (Throg, anyone?).
22. That is totally Lady Loki/Sylvie at the end by the way. Has to be. But why does she want the reset devices? Why did she snatch that TVA Hunter? Again, WHAT’S GOING ON

🍄 How do you get yourself in the mood to write?
Getting in the mood to write and actually wanting to sit down and start writing are two very different things, but they're connected, so I'll explain both.
To set into “creative mode” it helps me to do these things:
Listen to music that makes me think of a character/situation in my story/stories. I've got playlists separated by character and pairing. Sometimes I also just work on curating those playlists for fun and get my brain going.
Bounce overall ideas off of my friends and husband/editor (but he's my best friend, too 💗)
Reread old chapters or recent ones and future snippets based on what I want to do.
Once I actually want to put words down, I get a little more strict with myself. I get distracted verrrry easily sometimes and I have to fight the urge to open a million more tabs when researching a small detail.
I move to instrumental music (I have playlists for different moods like “emotional”, “soft”, “sad”, etc. I usually listen to “soft” as a general soothing background sound, as I can get pretty dang emotional when I write, especially with the stuff I've been churning out lately.
So, yeah, I need tissues within reach if I get upset. (Wow, I'm not making this sound fun at all, lmao)
After sound has been established, I like to eat a snack (something with protein) because I can be under for hours, lol. Eat it and finish it. Otherwise, I get distracted.
I also like to have drinks available. I always have a bottle of water, but I also like having a hot cup of tea. I think it's the time of year for me to switch to cold barley tea.
I write while seated on a recliner with my feet up. I have my laptop on a lap desk and it's a pretty cozy setup.
I basically try to remove any excuse I have to get up once I start writing, because I am the worst procrastinator I know.
🍑Do you/would you write smut?
Heheh... heck yeah, I do. Waaaaay more than most people realize. Stuff I've actually posted? It's pretty limited. I posted a couple pieces (Let Me Love You and You're Like the Sunshine) a few years ago, but I've been practicing ever since. One of my planned stories literally has what I refer to as a “smut dump” in the draft where I've been experimenting with writing different moods. I like the intimate scenes to play a role in the overall plot or have it be a bonding experience.
Despite that, I do have a shameless Gray x Mary story I should just get out there that has zero plot, just two cuties in love. In my mind it's so naughty and kinky and I get flustered thinking about it (Mary is hot, okay?), but it's probably hella vanilla, lmao. I really am grateful that people have been really supportive about my writing smut despite what I usually write, and they've been so encouraging, too! I honestly feel like the smut I've posted is really stilted because I was so self-conscious about it. I don't feel like they are terrible for first attempts, but I have definitely grown more comfortable writing it.
Will The Shy Newcomer become explicit? I kinda really want it to, but I might separate the chapters for those who don't care for that content. Overall, I'd like to write more and post more, and I want to write more than just male x female smut as well. I have some of those in my planned pieces (more about them later).
📒 Any Fics Planned?
Firstly, I'm super tickled more than one person was interested in this. I copied the answer I wrote earlier.
Short answer: Yes. I also plan to bring more of my stories over from ffn to Ao3.
Long answer under the cut, heheh. I rambled quite a bit.
Ask me about my writing processes and stories!
I have so many WIPs that haven’t been touched in years that I’d like to finish, so new planned fics aren’t posted yet. Some of them have more adult themes than most of the stuff I’ve been writing, so I get flustered sharing them. I’ve been at a crossroads, as I feel that you can’t have growth without changing things up. On the other hand, I feel like a lot of my readers associate my works with a specific “wholesome” feel-good mood. It’s kinda nice to be known for something, although that might just be my ego talking, thinking that people recognize my work as a “type”.
Regardless, in the end, I feel growth is necessary.
I don’t want to leave a lot of unfinished WIPs waiting because they stress me out and I have too many of them already, so I’d like to have a bulk of my new stories with a good chunk written before I decide to post them.
Among those include:
A longfic featuring Pete’s farm in Forget-Me-Not Valley (A blend of HMDS with the FoMT plugin and AWL). It takes place in the same universe as The Shy Newcomer (Claire in Mineral Town) and there are a few overlapping moments, although Pete’s story starts first. Pete’s personality is verrry different from Claire’s, and his story was kind of supposed to be the yang to TSN’s yin. Pete’s best friends in his story are Ruby (not sure if I’m adding Tim yet), Nami, and Rock. Readers will be treated to a poorly-socialized pre-Mineral Town Cliff (if you think he was bad at the beginning of TSN, well… heh… he’s a wreck here).
Another planned unpublished story is a crossover of Harvest Moon and the movie “In This Corner of the World”, based on a manga of the same name by Fumiyo Kouno. It was written as a gift for a friend. I have the entire outline figured out and have slowly been filling it in. My friend asked for an AU where Claire and Cliff have an arranged marriage and live with his family in Akiyama, the hometown I had created for Cliff in The Shy Newcomer. I took the opportunity to expand the characters in his family. I have it written during the same time period and society as “In This Corner of the World”, but had decided to write a spreading disease as an allegory for war, but then COVID happened and some parts of it just got really hard to write. There are also a lot of sexually explicit content as Claire slowly grows and learns from her spouse that it’s okay to express what she wants despite sex being a taboo issue. If there’s enough interest in the story, I’ll post it, but I worry it’s a little too niche for there to be many people into it.
Pastor Carter and Doctor Trent are one of my favorite rare pair ships. I’ve had a partial draft for a story about them for a few years now, especially focusing on Trent growing up and acknowledging that he has an unhealthy addiction for things that he knows he can’t have. There are some more adult/sexual themes in this piece, too, including the main character lusting after a married woman (who also happens to be his patient) and some lemons. (Does anyone call it that anymore or is it just referred to as “smut” nowadays? Haha) I always feel so bad for neglecting the folks at the clinic in-game and wanted to write a piece that focused more on them, Trent specifically. It’s a multi-chap fic, but I don’t think I’m going to let it get as long as some of my other pieces.
I also really want to write a short romantic oneshot for every marriage candidate in Mineral Town, around 1,000 words each. So far, I have one for Cliff and one for Gray. I want to write Claire with everyone, because I think it would be fun to explore all the different personalities.
I have more installments planned for A Single Day, including a day in the life of the following characters, all with drafts in varying degrees of progress:
Anna
Doug
Nora (yes, I’m writing from the point of view of the cat living at the inn)
More to come – I think Lillia and Thomas would be especially interesting to explore
I do still have that Legend of Zelda Majora’s Mask piece I’ve been pondering where Link befriends the soul of the deku scrub child while possessed by the mask. I don’t have much written about it, but I really love the world of Majora’s Mask. Such a fun game.
I also think about the lead carpenter’s son in Ocarina of Time and that weird side quest involving the blue chicken and the son being lost to the forest. Then that unique-looking kokiri girl explaining that all who get taken in the lost woods become stalfos. Like, did the guy die? Was he sick? Did he want to die? There’s just so much going on there that would be fun to explore.
I also have played OMORI recently and have like… A LOT of feelings about it. I don’t know what I’d write, but I’m still damn impressed at how well the characters are developed in such a short game.
Other games I’ve had vague ideas about writing for include the following:
The Flame in the Flood: I’m thinking a survivalist/action story fleshing out Scout’s backstory a bit more and her thoughts as she’s traveling. I feel like she’s a very lonely person, but isn’t given the chance to really dwell on it.
Night In the Woods: I’d love to write more about Mae’s dreams and what they mean to her. She doesn’t really talk to anyone about them openly, so it’s really hard to tell her feelings about them in some regards. We know that she’s distressed about them, but I’d like to dive a little deeper. Do the nightmares end after the games does? What about Bea’s new nightmares?
Hades (Supergiant Games): I think it would be fun to write more about the events that take place before the game starts, like Zagreus’s duties in the house of Hades, and expand on the strained relationship with his father.

The restaurant is fancy. Perhaps too fancy for a first date. There are glad chandeliers hanging from the ceiling and wall to wall fish tanks filled with all the fish to be slaughtered. The lighting is dim and people are quiet, only the sound of bubbling tanks in Seokjin’s ears.
Maybe this was a bad idea. After all, a year isn’t too long to still be hung up on someone is it? Is it?
Deep down he knows that it’s time to move on. Lana made it very clear to him that she never cared for him at all , and was only with him because he was in medical school. But Seokjin was entirely blinded. Lana was so beautiful that her coldness did not faze him, did not cause any alarm bells to go off in his head even when his friends warned him that she was no good. It caught him by complete surprise when he came home early one day and saw her in the midst of cheating, with one of her male friends she told him not to worry about.
He’d been in tears but Lana didn’t even have the decency to look ashamed. All she did was roll her eyes and pull the covers tight around her body, sending her man out the door and telling him that she’d meet him in a second while Seokjin lay on the floor sobbing.
It’s embarrassing every time he thinks about it. Seokjin was content to die alone, no longer believing in love. After many months of his moping, Seokjin’s childhood friend Jungkook convinced him to get back into the dating scene.
“Come on, hyung,” Jungkook said to him one day after knocking on his door to find Seokjin still in his pajamas, “This is getting sad.”
“I am sad, Jungkook,” Jin said, “My heart has been shattered.”
Seokjin slumped even further down in his chair. His mother would be furious if she saw his awful posture.
“Lana isn’t worth all this. She’s already moved onto her next victim. It’s been months, hyung! Months! You are much too good looking, young, and rich to be giving up on life this soon. Why don’t you at least try dating?”
“I don’t know, Jungkook . . .” Seokjin said, hesitant.
“I know this really nice girl in one of my classes. She saw you pick me up last week and asked about you.”
“That’s nice, Jungkook, but I’m really not -”
“I kind of already gave her your number,” Jungkook interrupts, a bashful smile on his face.
“Jungkook!” Seokjin scolds.
“I’m sorry!” Jungkook says, tossing his hands in the air, “But she’s really sweet! And pretty! And you’ve been so lonely lately, it’s bringing everyone down. Just give her a shot, hyung, please. For my snake.”
Jungkook hits Seokjin with those infamous puppy dog eyes he always gets his way with. And just like always, Seokjin relents.
“Fine!” Seokjin says, “But if I don’t like her, I don’t want you to bring it up again!”
“Deal!” Jungkook says, locking his pinky around the older man’s even though they both know he’s lying.
Later that evening, after Jungkook left Seokjin’s apartment, Jin gets a text from an unknown number.
Unknown: Hey! This is Seokjin, right? Jungkook gave me your number.
Unknown: I hope that’s okay
Unknown: I’m YN
Jin frowned, looking at his phone. Does he really have to answer? If he ghosts her, this YN chick will probably tell Jungkook. Deciding to play along, at least for a little while, he replies.
Me: Hey!
Me: Yeah, this is Seokjin. Kookie told me he gave you my number.
Unknown: Kookie? That’s such a cute nickname haha.
Unknown: Have you guys been friends for long?
Me: Ever since we were younger. His older brother was in my grade.
And just like that, interest sparks. The two of them don’t text much for the first couple of days but soon it evolves to being on the phone for hours. They send memes back and forth and have long discussions about their favorite shows. For the first time in a long while, everything doesn’t seem quite so awful.
Seokjin snaps out of his thoughts, looking at his phone.
Did YN stand him up? She was supposed to be here twenty minutes ago. Maybe she doesn’t like sushi. Maybe she was just playing with him. Maybe this is some elaborate prank played by her and Jungkook.
Seokjin thinks he’s going to be sick. He should have known better.
“Sorry I’m late!” A familiar voice calls.
Seokjin looks up and is faced with one of the prettiest girls he’s ever seen. Even though her hair and outfit look a little untidy, she’s absolutely gorgeous.
“I wasn’t waiting long,” Seokjin mutters, lying.
He’s captivated. He’s seen her picture several times but it’s another thing altogether to see her in person.
“Really?” YN asks, sliding into the booth across from him, “I’m glad! The bus broke down on the way here and I didn’t have any signal so I couldn’t tell you. I was worried that you thought I’d ditched you.”
“Oh, no,” Seokjin says, shaking his head, “I figured you were just a little behind.”
He laughs nervously. He hadn’t really expected things to go so far. He’s actually on a date.
“I’m glad!” YN says, straightening herself out a bit, “I’d never leave you hanging like that.”
Jin smiles.
“So,” YN says, grabbing the menu, “Have you been here before? Any recommendations?”
“This is the first time I’ve been here too,” Jin admits.
“Let’s get something different and then share,” YN suggests.
“That sounds good.”
As they look through and make their decisions, Jin can’t help but stare at her. He’s really pretty, from her face to the clothes she wears. She’s so opposite of Lana. Where Lana was stiff, YN looks relaxed and easy going.
“Is everything okay?” YN asks him, placing her menu down on the table.
“Yeah, sorry,” Jin says, “You’re just so pretty.”
YN blushes, a shy smile on her face.
“Thank you. You’re really handsome, Jin.”
His ego is now boosted. For the longest time, Jin wondered if maybe Lana dumped him because she wasn’t attracted to him. Maybe she left because he was ugly.
He can tell that YN isn’t lying. She’s so bright and honest.
“Did you decide what you wanted?” he asks her, not wanting to stare at her again and possibly make her uncomfortable.
“I’m getting the Tiger Roll,” YN says.
“I’ll get the Dynamite Roll,” Jin says a few moments later.
With their order placed, conversation flows naturally. YN talks about her family and her childhood and listens intently when Jin talks about his. In just this one date, Jin has learned so much more about YN then he ever did Lana.
And the sushi is delicious. It’s the best thing he’s ever eaten, even. Or maybe it’s just her.
When the plates have been cleaned and the bill has been presented, Jin offers to pick it up.
“Are you sure? I don’t mind splitting it,” YN says.
“Absolutely. I’d love to,” Jin says, trying his hardest to be gentlemanly.
YN smiles at him and he swears his heart stops.
“I really appreciate it,” YN says, standing up and brushing off her outfit, “This was fun.”
“Would you like to eat out again next week?” he asks her.
“I’ll have to see what my schedule looks like,” YN says.
The two of them make their way to the exit. Jin holds the door open for her.
“Make sure you let me know!” Jin says, hoping she doesn’t sound too eager.
“I will,” she says.
The moment is a little awkward. Jin wants to lean in to kiss her but she takes a small step backward, putting some distance between them.
Jin isn’t bothered. Maybe YN isn’t a kiss on the first date type of girl. Now that he thinks about it, that makes him like her even more.
The two walk down the sidewalk in front of the restaurant for a bit. It’s gotten much darker now than it was when Jin first arrived.
Jin pauses when YN stops in front of the bus stop sign.
“Would you like me to drive you? It’s gotten late.”
“I’ll be okay,” YN says, “But thank you, though.”
“Are you sure? I really don’t mind.”
YN thinks for a moment, looking at him before glancing at her watch.
“I’d really appreciate it -”
YN doesn’t even get to finish before Jin grapes her hand in his and strides towards the nearby parking lot, unlocking his fancy car and opening the door for YN. Jin doesn’t notice the slightly uncomfortable look on YN’s face, much too excited.
Today has been so much better than he could have ever hoped.
“Which way to your place?”
YN quietly gives him instructions to her dorm.
Honestly, she just wants this night to be over. When she asked Jungkook about Jin, she did it as a conversation starter, hoping to find more info about Jungkook. He’s so cute and she wanted to try and shoot her shot with him but their conversation went haywire and before she knew it, Jungkook was setting her up with his “lonely and desperate but I swear he’s attractive” friend. Trying to make the best out of the situation, she decided to talk to Jin. He’s fun to text and to chat with but she just doesn’t feel any chemistry with him.
“We’re here,” Jin says a few minutes later.
YN gets out of the car before Jin can rush to open it for her.
“Thanks a lot,” YN says, turning away from him.
She walks into the building swiftly, unaware of the gaze on her back.
Back at his apartment, Jin texts Jungkook.
Me: She’s a dream
Me: an absolute angel
Me: I think she’s the one
Kookie: the date went that well, huh? ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Me: Not like that. She’s just really sweet
Kookie: I’m happy for you! I hope things work out well for the two of you!
Me: I think they will
Jin flops on his bed, sighing like a schoolgirl. It’s only been one date but he knows she’s going to be the one for him.
Opening up a different conversation, Jin clicks on the second newest one, taking a moment to change the name.
Me: I think I’m going to marry you one day
Across the city, YN’s stomach drops when she reads the text. She doesn’t know what to say to him. How do you tell someone that you’re just not into them?
Deciding to deal with it later, YN turns off her phone and heads to the bathroom. That sushi is not agreeing with her.
For the next couple of days, YN and Jin text back and forth, but it doesn’t have the same energy as it used to. Instead of replying instantly and really moving the conversation forward, YN gives short responses and takes forever to respond.
Two weeks later, she stops responding at all.
Worried that something may have happened to his love, Jin amps up his texting and calling, hoping to get through to her. He sends her a new text every hour, and then every half hour, and then every fifteen minutes until he’s texting her over a thousand times a day. At this point Jin is worried that she’s hurt.
But according to Jungkook, she’s just fine.
Me: Are you sure, Kookie?
Kookie: I just think she’s not into you Jin
Kookie: I’m sorry. I would have never set you two up if I thought it would go like this.
Jin sits on his bed, his mind swimming. Not into him? She couldn’t be! Not YN! Not after the magical time they’d had together?
Kookie: Don’t give up, I’m sure that you’ll find someone
Jin, sick to his stomach, dials YN’s phone again.
She answers.
“YN -”
“STOP CALLING ME! I DON’T LIKE YOU! I DON’T WANT ANYTHING TO DO WITH YOU!”
The last straw. His back is finally broken, he’s caving into himself.
“Darling,” he says after a moment.
YN quiets down. She had half expected for him to have hung up.
“Let’s go out to eat again, shall we? I’d hate to make sushi out of you.”

so they get married in the woods, obviously, or a field! maybe they can find a cute clearing. or! they can pull an aj and get married when it's just the two of them. like an evening together in their cottage by the candelight. omg. i kind of love that. i picture the season as winter, because winter is their thing in my head. and that also really suits the warmth of getting married in the candlelight. frost on the windows, fire is going, they're just together saying vows and deciding to be married now. maybe afterglow isn't about the soundtrack of trial 3. maybe it's the soundtrack of their wedding. consider that, maybe.
i don't know that they'd have any traditions, but maybe there's something paladins do and arrivans do and they do neither of those things. because the point isn't where they're from; it's their happy ending together and they can make their own traditions.
wedding cake is really small and humble. they made it themselves. one layer. luke wanted to do a second layer but he sucks at baking so it failed. haha, maybe they have two cakes then: one that's the main layer and another that was supposed to be a second layer but is now just the secondary-cake™. maybe it's a spice cake. idk fits the vibes.
leah smashes cake in his face first.
he proposed. actually idk who would suggest running away together first (maybe him even because he's so idealistic and would think it's a possibility first? idk), but. i think he'd initiate marriage. being like "let's be married," if they did the just-them-in-their-home-wedding. im gonna cry. plus, he's a super romantic so i think he'd really want it. he'd want to say she's his wife and have a ceremony even if its just the two of them. dude im actually gonna cry. im crying.
no walking down the altar cuz they dont have one. but just picture like both of them getting dressed in separate rooms and then, yk, walking out at similar times. or luke goes into the den (or whatever you call the main room of a cottage - living room?) and waits for her and she comes out and he's like. just speechless and smiles all slow. and he's like tearing up but trying not to. dude asdlkfjadsklfj my heart.
where would they even get a dress idk. maybe westwood has tailors. but i picture a very simple dress, like in that one pinterest photo. this one. very simple - like it's literally just a long white dress and luke is still floored. i think he'd just have a white button down and pants lol. cuz where is he gonna get a suit idk.
wedding colors... eh? earthy tones. cuz they're in a cottage dude idk. just picture the glow of the candles on their faces as they do a forehead touch okay. that's all you need. the color scheme is love LMFAO.
the flowers are wildflowers, mostly white. some in her hair. some scattered around. :')
vows are very... idk whatever they wanted to say to each other. he'd have been writing them for a long time. but he'd scrap all of them every time and probably just end up talking about how much she meant to him in the moment. and i imagine leah would try to come up with something poetic and nice for him, but anything she said would be meaningful to him, even if it wasn't poetic.
talon's very late to the wedding. so late that he never shows can you believe that, haha! just big brother things.
no bridal party or anything. it's just them. i said what i said.
they wouldn't have pictures of the night, huh? that's okay. memories are the best pictures.
luke cries first for sure. that moment when he first sees her in her dress, flowers in hand, and the warm glow of the room is reflecting off her hair, which falls over her shoulders. he'd be like 🥺 immediately. has to do the looking up at the ceiling trying not to cry thing. SLKDJFSLKDFJ
please them getting a bit drunk together is really sweet. i imagine leah has a way higher tolerance than him. so at the end he's just drunk and saying he loves her. and that's how the night ends is with them falling asleep really warm and drunk lol.
RINGS OH MY GOD. would they even??? i forgot people do rings. maybe they find some at an old store, i dont know. or ig he could ask lien to get them some. that'd be pretty sweet. i imagine he'd still see lien sometimes during the solstice. which ik technically means she could come to their wedding but i like them having a small one just together.
something memorable that happens, idk. maybe they have like a foot of snow fall outside or something. or maybe the next day is inexplicably really warm and nice, even though it's the middle of winter. something magical yk. just because it was them who got married.
they officiate it together they dont need no one else :triumph:

(Henry:) Haha that's quite the list there Lizzy Borden. I think it’s your turn to settle down. :P
(Henry:) Well then Lizzy with a Y, it's nice to finally talk to you, even though it's over text.
(Henry:) So I have to ask, I take it they were cracking the whip pretty hard in wardrobe today?
(Lizzy:) You know, I was doing what I thought was a pretty damn good job of avoiding that subject.
(Henry:) Nope, you can't slip past me. This brain is like an iron trap.
(Lizzy:) If you MUST know...
(Henry:) I really do. I'm sitting on the edge of my seat in anticipation.
(Henry:)
(Lizzy:) Okay well that just sounds sarcastic. I don't HAVE to tell you... :P
(Lizzy:) I'm kidding, kidding. Well, since you MUST know, I spent at least half of my day mending clothes, particularly the crotch of multiple pairs of your pants. Also a few pairs had the butt blown out.
(Henry:) The crotch?
(Lizzy:) Yes, the CROTCH OF YOUR PANTS HENRY. :P Honestly I'm used to it at this point though. It's not the first time, or I'm assuming the last, that I'll have to mend the crotch of your pants. It’s not your fault the studio wants you in tighter fitting clothes that can show off how muscular you are. It’s just my job to fix it. ;)
(Henry:) I guess I never really thought about who it was having to mend them when that happens.
(Lizzy:) And it’s not just your crotch area I mend, it’s your inseams as well. I think your thighs got a little bigger since the initial fitting. :P

(Lizzy:) I mean, if your muscles didn’t rip through clothing on a regular basis I’d be out of a job! How rude.
(Henry:) Well I mean in that case I COULD make it a habit. ;)
(Lizzy:) All I have to say is I’m SO glad we don’t have to worry about shirt buttons on you during this. I’ve seen the stress you put on buttons during press junkets. The anxiety I feel, Henry. So much anxiety.

(Henry:) Yeah, those shirts never seem to fit my chest right. I taught myself how to sew buttons on my shirts so I could stop asking others to help.
(Lizzy:) Okay, the fact that you taught yourself how to sew on buttons because it’s a CONTINUING issue is both hilarious and adorable. :P

(Henry:) So I’m curious about something, costume wise.
(Lizzy:) Yes? I’m sure I can answer, costume wise. ;)
(Henry:) How long does it take to sew together a shirt from scratch?
(Lizzy:) Well, it all depends on the type of shirt, and what it’s for. For the sake of film, there are so many steps. Design, pattern making, grading, construction, fitting. That’s just a fraction of it. It’s a very long process.
(Lizzy:) But if I was at home making a shirt for a friend, I could do it start to finish in a couple of hours. They're not hard. I can sew them together in my sleep.
(Henry:) A few HOURS? That's amazing.
(Lizzy:) Eh, it's what I went to school for. ;) It’s not that impressive to me.
(Henry:) Well, to me it is at least. ;)

(Henry:) Unfortunately, it's time for me to go to bed. I have an early call time in the morning.
(Lizzy:) You're going to bed at 6 in the evening? I’m assuming you have a super crazy call time? One time I had a call time of 1 am because there were things that had to be fixed by the time you and Anya got to set at 4 am. Although it does have it’s advantages. I get to have the first pick of craft services, and sunrises are always nice to watch.
(Lizzy:) But I’m sorry, that sucks. :(
(Henry:) Some days it does, especially when I can't seem to fall asleep. But today was exhausting so I don't think I'll have any issues tonight. Plus Kal has been extra cuddly tonight so I definitely won’t have any issues.
(Lizzy:) Well then, I guess this is where we say goodnight. I hope you sleep well. :)
(Henry:) Thank you. I hope you do, too. Hopefully tomorrow will involve less bleeding onto garments. ;P
(Lizzy:) Haha, I mean it really doesn’t matter. If anything it makes the garment just look THAT much more legit. I hope you have a good day on set tomorrow. :)
