AU where after the ninjas achieve their golden dragon forms in Crystallized, instead of the golden weapons being destroyed/dissolving, the ninjas fuse with their weapons. They BECOME their elements.
What does this mean for them? Well, for one, they are much more connected to Lloyd. Their destiny was to protect the Green Ninja and now their instincts have been dialed up by hundred, so now they see Lloyd much more as their elemental leader than just the leader of the ninja.
This also means:
Jay can turn into lightning
Kai can turn into fire
Cole can merge with the earth
Zane can merge with the cold/ice

Why Donald Duck is a Duck Centaur
Or rather, a thorough analysis on the anatomy of anthropomorphic ducks.
So I'm playing a certain Nintendo game ahead of time, and a duck character's anatomy caught my eye. It was interesting, and ripe for the ol’ art brain to overthink to the logical extreme.
Naturally, I don't want to get struck down by the Nintendo ninjas, so today we'll be talking about Donald Duck.
Tumblr media
Behold.
Standard cartoon duck anatomy, right? Well, there’s more to it than it seems.
We’ll be breaking down his anatomy using the human anatomical structure, since he’s anthropomorphic, and going down from there.
Tumblr media
And for reference, we’ll be using a diagram of a real duck skeleton.
Tumblr media
I will also be adding on with my own diagrams, though the skeletons illustrated are in no way perfect. I also do not claim to be an expert on animal or human anatomy, and this is purely for fun and morbid curiosity.
Let’s start with the head.
The Head
Donald Duck’s eyes are front-facing, and from existing material, we can conclude that his neck connects to his skull from below, not from the back (as with real life ducks).
Tumblr media
Therefore, it’s safe to say that Donald has a mostly-human skull structure, minus the beak. Since his eyes are so large, he likely doesn’t have much of a forehead at all.
Tumblr media
The Body
We can conclude that his ‘chest’ area is similar to that of a human’s. His arms are very identical to human arms (besides the four fingers), and is stylized to look like wings. There should be a ribcage to give his chest that shape, as well as to connect to his arms.
In many animals, the clavicle/scapula helps articulate the forearms, and is located next to the ribcage, so we can conclude this is the same for Donald.
Tumblr media
Now, moving on to the lower half of Donald’s body. It looks something like this.
Tumblr media
It does kind of look like Donald has a thicc booty, but we can see something similar in the bodies of real life ducks.
Tumblr media
They don’t have a human upper-body, so it’s less like a fat ass and more like…a duck.
So, how does this look like in the skeleton?
Tumblr media
…uh oh. It’s another ribcage.
But wait! If Donald’s anthropomorphic, maybe it’s just a pelvis? Well, maybe, but that distinct shape is hard to replicate with *just* the pelvis of a duck.
Tumblr media
The duck pelvis, if you will. ^
Maybe it could be fat. Maybe he does have a really fat ass. Maybe it helps cushion his weird duck spine when he sits, or keep him warm while swimming. Well, maybe. But it would be odd to have such a fat distribution without a skeleton to give it that shape.
For context, the blue whale has the most body fat out of all animals, and you can see how its skeleton guides its shape:
Tumblr media
(Unfortunately I had to get this diagram from Shutterstock, which is not a very accurate anatomical resource, but just look at a blue whale skeleton and at an actual blue whale.)
But I digress. Since we’re taking this essay to the logical extreme already, it stands to reason that, if we’re comparing to real life ducks, Donald Duck does, in fact, have two ribcages.
Tumblr media
Excuse how tight the drawing is. I’m not very good at ribcages. You can tell I’m the kind of artist who uses shorthands whenever they sketch a ribcage.
Anyway.
A centaur has a human upper body and a horse lower body. Donald Duck has a human upper body and a duck lower body. Therefore, he is a duck centaur.
However, we are not done with this analysis yet. We still need to talk about his legs.
The Legs
So, duck legs, right? Well, we already know they connect to the pelvis the same way as a duck. They’re kind of shoved to the back, because that’s where the pelvis is located. Still, they’re not quite actual duck legs.
Tumblr media
From existing material, we see his knees bend the same way as a humans, and therefore, we can conclude that Donald is plantigrade. What does this mean? Well, his ankles stay planted to the ground, basically.
Tumblr media
Here’s an example diagram, going in the order of: Plantigrade, Digitigrade, Unguligrade. Plantigrade is mostly primates, like humans. Digitigrade is most common amongst animals, like dogs or birds. Unguligrades are stuff like horses. (Unrelated, but did you know that this means that horse legs are just advanced fingers?)
Anyway, the advantages of being plantigrade is a better balance as a tradeoff for speed. (Source, because I am a cool person: https://www.nsf.gov/news/news_summ.jsp?cntn_id=190923)
This aids animals in fighting, as opposed to fleeing.
Which checks out, because Donald has canonically been shown to fight, especially since he’s not very good at healing:
Tumblr media
The Conclusion
By analyzing Donald’s anatomy and comparing it both humans and ducks, we get this:
Tumblr media
Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.
Image Citations: Well, I was actually going to cite my image sources, but Tumblr only allows me maximum ten links per images, so I'm just going to leave what I put into Google Images.
"digitigrade vs. plantigrade"
"duck"
"duck skeleton"
"indian runner duck"
"donald duck"
"donald duck kingdom hearts"
"blue whale skeleton"

Okay, a little bit about Dragon Kai because brain is SCREAMING:
-Kai knows he's partial dragon, but thinks only that: Partial. Wings, tail, claws, and ears. He doesn't believe he's a full dragon
^Nya ALSO knows this and thinks the same of partial rather than full.
-It's almost.. Separated? Odd way to explain, but there's always two little voices in his head, one that's his sunconcious and self preservation (barely there), and the other, much louder one, is the dragon side that craves to let the oghers know.
-The Pilot would also be a good factor of funny, from Cole's fear alone:
"I'm not scared of anything in this world." "Except for dragons!" "Uh.. I said 'in this world', Jay. Dragon's don't exist." Kai's standing there trying not to look suspicious while also really wanting to scare this dude he's barely known because come on, the opportunity is right there!
-During season 1, he's just casually talking with the dragons and understanding them and not realizing that he looks just a little bit not there to the others.
-Jay making some sort of remark of "Hey! We all got inhuman things except for Kai!" And both Nya and Kai have to hold back grins because if only you knew, Jay.
-Yes, Wu knows. Yes, Garmadon knows. Both keep the secret because honestly it pleases the oni side to watch the chaos of a dragon stirring shit up and still being secretive about it.
^To that point, Wu allows Kai to stretch his wings out after a long while of them being pent up, giving off the excuse to the other's of him 'needing fresh air'. It's not wrong, but it's not fully right either.
-I'm not sure what I like better: Kai being slow aging in human years or fast aging in dragon years.
-Honestly, I love the thought of Kai just being so Huge as a dragon and then the second shortest ninja.

So, you remember the plans for that Ed Edd n' Eddy (Assassin AU) fan comic series? Well, I think I've finally gotten it figured out, and I'd like to make this post to help ensure I don't forget (and maybe get people interested). Click "keep reading," if curious.
I've decided to forego the concept of "werebeasts," but only for the comic of C2ndy2C1d's AU idea. For a different and fully original series involving assassins, I'll utilize it 'cause it'll feel less jarring and all then. I mean, I'll give myself points for trying to give a reason why animal-hybrids existed in the AU's world, instead of basically telling the audience just to accept the fact; but let's face it, good excuse/reason or not, it always felt off and more a likely turn-off to viewers than anything.
If you really wanna know the whole "werebeast" ordeal: the organization's lab managed to reach a breakthrough, in form of living tools that combined animalistic and humanistic abilities, and they planned to offer these new creations to the more interested assassins for better/easier job completion. If you want an example, the best I can describe is to think of it like a "Kiba and Akamaru" situation, from the Naruto series, except with some animal/human-hybrid than a ninja hound. Again, it can be an interesting concept and idea, assassins working with animal-hybrid partners that serve them as needed, just perhaps not fitting for the "Assassin AU" of EEnE.
I'm still using Claire and Yami, though, they're just normal full-humans now that utilize a respective wolf/fox theme to them. However, there are a few extra changes: Cio will be added to the cast and HE'S the one with the Eds, Claire is now with Sarah and Jimmy (pray for the kid), and it's a concept of apprenticeship than being assigned to some "master." Yami and Nazz will still be paired up, as a dynamic Japanese-styled duo of swordsmanship and Ninjutsu (NOT like Naruto but the actual art).
Why apprenticing? Well, the organization decided its... "recruits" would have a higher success rate in "graduation" and the like, if they were given prior field experience, before the time comes to prove themselves. Yeah, let's just say, the resulting numbers weren't meeting the demand, with how they currently ran things... So, for some extra financial compensation (cue Eddy immediately dragging his friends into this), the veterans have a chance to train a greenhorn; but that means they share the consequences, if a pupil fails to properly graduate. If the pupil graduates, it's really up to them and their mentor whether they'll continue partnered up and all.
Mentors get to choose one candidate from a list of "most compatible" ones, and then that trainee will be under their wing for a bit. Nazz picks Yami because of her Japanese-based interests (more technique than racially-related), The Eds pick Cio because his brains are sure to pair well with Double D's (thus Eddy can make HIM do all the mentoring and rake in easy bucks), and Sarah and Jimmy pick Claire because I hate the kid and enjoy seeing them bully her.
... Okay, that's just the OUT-of-story reason I have, aside from her fighting style working well with theirs. The two will claim it's because they wanted a little extra spending money-- specifically, they want this giant plushie that'd be a great addition to their base. They also, especially Sarah, enjoy the idea of having someone to boss around and all, and you could "practically see [Claire] trembling in her photo~"... However, Claire's predictable meekness/timid-ness, making for a fun and obedient "toy," doesn't convey their full reason for choosing her specifically, nor are "serving toys" the main reason why they even entered the apprenticeship program... Sorry, but THAT isn't getting spoiled here.
As for Kevin, Rolf, Jonny and the Kanker Sisters, they won't be getting apprentices for their own reasons: Jonny and Plank already have to worry about getting just THEMSELVES safely out of their explosions, Kevin is more of a lone wolf and only partners with someone when necessary, Rolf would have rather passed on his knowledge of farming than assassination, and the Kankers probably would "be busy enough, without having to watch some helpless twerp" (perhaps as Lee would put it).
So yeah, I finally feel good about the fan comic now, and I can't believe I hadn't thought of it sooner! Heh, sometimes it's the simplest of solutions, like learning to get over Claire not actually being half-wolf... Aw well, I'm excited to start work on it, in between my fully original works, so I hope you all are, too!

Okaaay, I always wanted to write or for someone to write a fanfic where they change everything in Naruto The Last movie.
Keep Naruto’s hair the same way he had it before the 4th Great Ninja War ended.
Completely erase the NaruHina ship.
Make Toneri Ōtsutsuki be interested in Naruto.
Make SasuNaru the main ship.
Tumblr media
And like, it was 8 years too late. But, if I were to show this to someone who hasn’t seen the time travel arc in Boruto. Well, they’d probably think that this Ōtsutsuki was a pedophile who was after Naruto. Just like how Toneri Ōtsutsuki was after Hinata.
I mean, he kidnapped + bound + chained Naruto up. And will you look at the way he’s touching him? I mean, he even has a nickname/pet name for Adult Naruto, Fox. Can you imagine what the Sasuke from this time period. I mean, 13 year old Sasuke would do if he were to walk in on this?
Say what you want about Sasuke. But, he’s always been rather overprotective and possessive of his beloved loser. If he were to walk in on this scene. I think he’d get the the wrong impression and all hell would break loose.
Sasuke: Naruto, I heard that you were kidnapped by some random guy who is after your 9 Tails. Orochimaru filled me in and I’m here to res- *sees a chained Naruto and an older man caressing his whiskered cheek*
Naruto: Sasuke!
Ōtsuki: Ugh, another pest has come to try and take Fox away from me?
Sasuke: Fox? How dare you give Naruto a nickname?! I’m the only one allowed to give him one! Which I already have. Loser. Take your filthy hands off my Loser before I cut them off!
Naruto: Cut them? I thought breaking them was more your style.
Sasuke: Oh no. I wasn’t actually that angry about Zuko hurting Sakura. I just used it as an excuse to let out a bit of pent-up rage I had and to test out my new powers. But, anyone who targets you? That’s a whole other story. I’m not just mad. I’m furious! *starts transforming into Curse Mark Winged Beast mode*
Ōtsutsuki: *This younger Sasuke appears to have had an even bigger obsession with, Naruto Uzumaki. Interesting. Very interesting.* Fox, don’t worry about him. I’ll deal with him and then I’ll return to you. *caresses Naruto’s cheek*
Sasuke: YOU’RE DEAD!!!

The WNBA is probably one of the easiest leagues to dive right into, if you’re American. The games are pretty easy to access if you have cable, even then a decent number of them are on league pass (which is $17!!!!!! For the whole season!!!) and there’s only 12 teams with 12 roster spots to keep track of. Compared to the NBA, where their league pass is stupid expensive, there’s a million teams and a revolving door of players, and a toxic fan base…. Idk there’s just not an excuse for it. People say they want to support gay women, black women, well, here it is… there’s no easier opportunity
This is such a good point. It's the easiest thing in the world. The games are 40 minutes. The broadcasts run about an hour 20 minutes. You get 4 quarter breaks, commercial breaks, fouls, and timeouts to rest your attention. It's so much easier to watch than soccer.
I always tell people if you want to dive in and get hooked, start following the Dallas Wings. They're a young team with a ton of on-court chemistry and they play a fast transition offense. It's all the stuff that looks cool on TV. Arike Ogunbowale plays with a lot of style. Satou Sabally's a unique 6'4" perimeter player. And you're guaranteed at least 5 viral fight clips a year from Marina Mabrey. The entire roster is young players who are all capable of break out performances. When they're all on the same page and they're having a good night, they can challenge and beat the best teams. You don't need to know much player history or league history to get into Dallas. All you need to know is Arike and Marina were Notre Dame champions together. And the younger Notre Dame players have drama with Skylar for some reason.
youtube
And if you're following for #couplegoals, get into the Connecticut Sun! It's the gayest professional sports team on earth. Coach Miller is the only out gay man in professional basketball. He doesn't follow the "token straight girl" rule for team rosters. He just does not believe straight women can ball out. He definitely doesn't discourage teammate relationships because half the team is dating each other. Sometimes I worry he's underestimating the power of lesbian drama, but for now his team is very united. He coaches a defensive style of basketball which isn't always that flashy. But Jonquel Jones is there and she's the human embodiment of sunshine. Alyssa Thomas is so hot I don't even care that her arms don't work. She's so intense on the court that she doesn't even care that her arms don't work. She plays like Tamika Catchings. Briann January is a real life ninja. And these two backcourt cuties are engaged. If you want content, they've got content. Jas has a baking blog I think? And T is so bored in central Russia right now she's dropping a mixtape.
youtube
I talk so much about the Storm and Mercury but those teams might be difficult for new fans to follow. There's so much going on with free agencies, retirement, and coaching shakeups. You've really gotta get geeky to get into those teams. But Connecticut and Dallas are just fun teams to follow.

Remembering a Mortal Kombat one, what about Pletonic Hanzo Hasashi having only one of his daughter survive the massacer from the Lin Kuei?
Before and Now? What the difference?
( like an au where he has two children instead of one )
👩
Broken Truth (Looks at the ask): Hm, If Hanzo had a daughter that survived the Shirai Ryu Clan Massacre. Hm... Since He still has a family member, he would be overprotective of his daughter. Let's find out how protective by letting the words weave together!
SUBTITLE: DAUGHTER OF THE SHIRAI RYU
When Sub-Zero attacked the Shirai Ryu with the aid of the Lin Kuei, Hanzo was utterly destroyed when he watched Sub-Zero freeze and crush the neck of his son before attacking him, leaving him in a critical place to die.
But that night - there was one more survivor because the Head of the Shirai Ryu and that was the 13-year-old Heiress of the Clan.
[Reader] was the eldest daughter of Hanzo Hasashi and was a very skilled ninja since a young age, she was able to hide from Sub-Zero & The Lin Kuei while her clan was being slaughtered, she stuck to the shadows and watched as Sub-Zero killed her brother and injured her father before leaving with the fragments of his clan. That's when she made her move to save her father and look for any kind of survivors.
Hanzo woke in the Medical Wing of the Clan House with another member of the clan keeping an eye on him, who explained that his elder daughter was the one who saved him, patched him up, and went to find other members that could be saved - she was about the save 10 members of the clan.
At the mention of his daughter, Hanzo shot up and ignored his wounds before pushing himself up to find her - she was located in the clan house, bandaging another member of the clan before he snatched her up to her feet and hugged the girl as if she was going to disappear in the next minute.
While the Shirai Ryu was rebuilding, Hanzo kept the closest eye on his daughter - he would find any excuse to keep his daughter at his side or keep her in her room, guarded at all times. He began calling her 'The Shirai Ryu Treasure' and he wanted to keep that treasure safe.
When [Reader] reached the age of 16, she explained to her father that she was tired of her father cooing over her and coddling her - she was a Shirai Ryu - the Heiress of the Clan - but she was being treated as if she was a gem of some kind and it was getting to her. She begged her father to treat her the same as any other member of the clan and train her to be the next clan head or she was going to train herself to hone her power.
As much as Hanzo didn't like it... he agreed to his daughter's wishes and began training her to be the next head. She was strong and calm in her power but it still scared Hanzo that he would lose his daughter the same way he lost his wife and son.
[Years Later - When Kuai Liang revealed the truth]
When the letter of peace came from the Head of Lin Kuei to speak to the Head of the Shirai Ryu, it was [Reader] who convinced her father to listen to what he had to say because something about the massacre was not right.
When they arrived and Frost attacked, it was [Reader] that put her down until Kuai froze her and explained that it wasn't him that killed the Shirai Ryu that night but the dark wizard - Quan Chi - that pretended to be him and controlled the Lin Kuei to attack Hanzo's Clan. This confirmed that [Reader] was right and they decided that they were going to get revenge on Quan Chi.
While Hanzo was away, he trusted his daughter to rule over the Shirai Ryu and she did so with kindness and power, never skipping on her training and creating new techniques to add to the Head Family Scroll - she even learned how to use her fire to heal those in pain.
Hanzo was happy that his clan was growing again and was in good league with his once enemy and his daughter was growing into a promising Clan Head with a rival of power and moral - Frost.

WARNING:  This post contains yandere themes (unhealthy relationships and mentions of dubcon) and mentions of other toxic behaviours and sensitive issues (such as abortion) that can be triggering and uncomfortable to read. So, read at your own risk. This work is purely fiction. I do not condone this toxic behaviour irl.
Fandom: Naruto
Pairing: Sasuke x Reader | Itachi x Reader
Status: Headcanons, requested.
Ask:  Can I request hc for Yan Naruto, Sasuke and Itachi having their first son with their darling? Would it change the way you treat your darling at all? What would your relationship with your son be like?
Thoughts, head not empty: Weirdly, I don’t see Yandere Sasuke wanting any kids to be frank. He’s more on the selfish and possessive side and would want to keep you to himself. But at the same time, Sasuke is a versatile yandere. He has the potential to be a manipulative asshole,  clingy and possessive, or all of these. Assumingly, from the different fanfictions I’ve read, people do / did have this notion that Sasuke would have many children to “restore” his clan and etc. But I just think that given his background and personality (such a lone wolf), he would probably just keep his s/o around and not care about anyone else.
This is just a bit irrelevant to this ask, but for my own want to do a bit comparison. For the Uchiha clan, characters I believe would have kids with their s/o would be: Madara (this bloke has a huge breeding kink and you can’t convince me otherwise), Shisui, Obito, Izuna, and maybe Itachi. I think with Itachi and Shisui they would probably just one or two child/ren and no more. Madara and Izuna, given the era they grow in and the family they, themselves are from, might want a big family. Obito is a huge simp so I can see him wanting a big family too.
Anyway, on to the ask:
Sasuke

~He is more of the type to use his son as leverage over you in order to keep you in check. If you come to care about your child and have a rebellious streak with him, then he finally has something he can use to make you more obedient to him.
~It would not be evident because other than what he wants with you, Sasuke is a subtle person. He is not outright affectionate or susceptible to being too emotionally attached. Therefore, it would take a long time but eventually, he would come to care for his child in his own way. Especially considering that your son is proof of your love and the living evidence that you belong to him. Additionally, having your son did make you more submissive so he is appreciative of that.
~He won’t be too involved in his son’s life. Given that’s how Fugaku was like that with him (and more focused on Itachi) that would be mirrored in Sasuke’s parenting, particularly when he didn’t care about the child being born that much anyway. As long as his son doesn’t do anything to tarnish your relationship and his image, he can do whatever.
~In the instance your son, when older, tries to protect you from him and etc, there will be two things: he will either kill him or take him away from you and under his wing. Train him to be a shinobi like himself, and actually brainwash them into becoming his tool to watch over you in his place when he’s not there.
Would it change the way he treat his darling?
Yes. Like I said, his son will be become a leverage against his you so in the way he has something he can manipulate you with. Also, Sasuke is possessive. So to keep your son alive, you better not prioritize him over Sasuke. Sasuke should still be your priority, and all the duties you have to fulfill for him cannot be excused. He doesn’t care about the child. You choose to keep it so while he will help you, you can’t that as a reason to spend less time with him. And once the baby is born, its like you’re dealing with two kids because you need to give Sasuke the time he requires from you and anything with the baby comes second.
What would the darling’s relationship with their son be like?
Sasuke’s son, again, in my opinion be a mirror of his childhood self prior to the annihilation of the Uchiha clan. Happy go lucky, and a cute little mama’s boy. Your son will love you because if you choose to have him, it evidently means you love him a lot. He’ll probably be one of the only things in your life left that you have because you choose to and not because Sasuke forced you to. So, for the reason to love him and have him give that back to you. Of course when he is old enough, he will question you, his sweet mummy about the dark bruising on your skin and why papa doesn’t love him like you do, and why papa glares at you if you end up spending too much time with him. And the only thing you can do is hold your sweet innocent little boy tightly.
Itachi
Tumblr media
Headcanons
~Similar to Sasuke, a child with Itachi is not planned. It’s something that just ended up happening because he’s more than happy to just have you by his side. But unlike Sasuke, you conceiving his child is not something he is against. If you are more on the rebellious side and he sees that you come to care for his child, then the more manipulative and sadistic part of him is not against threatening to hurt your son to make you more obedient. However, if that was the case, Itachi wouldn’t actually hurt or kill his child. He will use genjutsu, showing you vivid imagery of violence of what he could do, to make you submit. And we all know what a great illusionist he is so there is no way that would not work. Additionally, the chances of this scenario are almost non-existent though because he would be too good in mind-breaking you and getting you to return his love at an early stage.
~Itachi would know you’re pregnant with his child before you’d know. And in case you don’t want his child and try to get rid off it, he won’t let you.
~Itachi would be a loving father. He will fall in love with his child, no matter the gender, the moment you know you’re pregnant because that’s a life; that’s a life him and you have created together and nothing else would declare your shared love for each other to the world than your child.
~Itachi will be involved with his son’s childhood. He will train him in the ninja arts asap and make him an exceptional prodigy like he was so other than him, your son is also there to protect you.
Would it change the way he treat his darling?
Not really. If you’re a good girl then he’s good to you before your son, and he will be good to you after. He loves deeply so may be after you have his son, he might come to love you more. After your son that’s like him, he might be tempted to want another kid, but this time, a daughter who’s like you.
What would the darling’s relationship with their son be like?
Your son is influenced by his papa a lot so he will love you a lot. In the situation when you didn’t want Itachi’s child, Itachi would make sure to communicate his expectations of you clearly: you need to be a loving and nurturing to his son or else he will kill your loved ones. So whether it be by choice, or against your will, your son will see you as the best mother because you will be required to be nurturing towards him and raise him with lots of love.

Destiny
It's been almost a week since the dark lord has been defeated, the ninja have been too busy helping citizens of ninjago rebuild the damage done by their last battle.
Dareth was heading towards his dojo carrying repair equipment when a hooded figure approached him.
"Excuse me sir I was looking for someone, do u know where I can find a person by the name of Lloyd garmadon?"
Dareth tried to get a look at the mysterious person but his carriage was getting in the way.
"Oh Lloyd, yes I know him"
"Do you need help with that?"
"Oh yes, thank you very much, Lloyd is helping me with stuff in my dojo come with me I'll show you where he is"
"Thank you"
"And if you want my autograph don't be shy to ask, I am quite popular"
The stranger kept quite.
"Not much of a talker eh? It's ok most people are left speechless when they see me"
The stranger continues to say nothing.
After a long moment of silence the dojo is finally within sight, they both enter and put the equipment on the ground.
Dareth grabs the stranger and rushes to the other room.
"Here he is my friend! Lloyd garmadon, thy green ninja!"
Lloyd left what he was doing and went to greet the stranger.
"Oh hey, big fan?"
"Something like that"
The stranger takes grip of Lloyd's neck pining him against the wall.
"But I think "your worst nightmare" is more accurate"
Dareth rushed to help Lloyd.
"Don't worry green ninja I'll sav-"
The stranger delivered a punch to Dareth's face dropping him unconscious.
Lloyd kicked the stranger away and got ready for a fight.
"W-who are you! And why are u here?"
The stranger took off their hood to reveal themselves.
"my name is Morro, and I am here to defeat you"
In a blink of an eye Morro has already reached Lloyd punching him with great force sending him out the window.
"Yeah everyone says that, too bad you'll be the one getting defeated!"
Morro follows Lloyd outside the dojo.
"We'll see about that"
Morro tried to land another hit on the boy but luckily Lloyd was able to block the hit.
Lloyd tries to punch him but Morro disappears before his eyes.
" what the-"
He feels a grip on his shirt and a force pulling him to the ground.
" too slow"
Morro kicks Lloyd in his chest pinning him to the ground.
"Wu should have trained you better"
Lloyd was crushed by the weight on his chest but his surprise allowed him to get out a few words.
"Y-you know sensei wu"
"Life is full of surprises"
Desperate Lloyd tries to use his powers against Morro, unfortunately the man managed to jump away before getting hit.
Lloyd took a deep breath now that he can breath again.
"H-how do you know sensei wu?"
"So you wanna bring powers into this? Fine whatever you want"
A strong stream of wind started blowing at Lloyd, he tried to grap onto something to not fly off.
"What's going on!"
"Didn't dear sensei wu tell you about me? How sad I guess he wants to forget about me"
The wind kept getting stronger and stronger, Lloyd could barely hang on.
"Why do you wanna fight me so bad"
"Because you weren't supposed to be the green ninja, you're simply too weak! That title should have been mine! WU SAID THAT IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN MINE!"
"WELL TOO BAD! I AM ALREADY THE GREEN NINJA"
"That won't be the case when I get rid of you!"
The wind gets stronger once again and Lloyd's grip loosen sending him flying, but at the last moment he manages to hold on to the side of a building.
"Woah there buddy why don't you calm down"
"Calm down? CALM DOWN! HOW DO EXPECT ME TO CALM DOWN WHEN THE THING I HAVE BEEN TRAINING FOR MY WHOLE LIFE IS TAKEN AWAY FROM ME LIKE IT'S NOTHING! YOU ARE THE GREEN NINJA! THE REASON MY WHOLE LIFE WENT TO WASTE!"
"I NEVER WANTED TO BE THE GREEN NINJA"
"NONSENSE!"
"I AM TELLING THE TRUTH! I NEVER WANTED TO BE A NINJA LET ALONE THE GREEN NINJA! I- I....I just wanted to reunite with my father"
Morro took a step back as the wind got less intense.
"I wanted to spend time with him it didn't matter that he's evil, I always dreamed of destroying ninjago with him, but then uncle wu took me under his wing and teached me to be good"
"You think you can stop me with a petty story? Wu also took me under his wing years ago, he told me- no convinced me that I am the green ninja.... ONLY TO CRUSH MY DREAM THAT I'VE WASTED MY LIFE FOR!"
The wind is now faster than ever the air streams began circling around Morro forming a tornado.
"He then went on to choose YOU as the green ninja! He really thought a street rat would be a better fit for the green ninja than me!? LOOK AT ME! I AM FAR MORE POWERFUL THAN YOU!"
"HE NEVER CHOOSE ME!"
Morro's expression changed drastically, it was a mix of surprise and confusion,
Lloyd didn't believe his eyes but Morro looked .....hesitant?
"W-what do you mean he didn't choose you?"
"Wu doesn't choose the green ninja! The golden weapons do"
Morro returned to his senses,
He blamed wu so much he had forgotten about the golden weapons.
"Oh yeah those"
The wind got strong again.
"I don't think he should have relied on those stupid things, clearly it made the wrong decision"
"Did you forget that I defeated the dark lord? I don't think it made a half bad decision"
"I do remember that, I also remember that you allowed the dark lord to come here and destroy half of the city, if I were the green ninja like I should I would have defeated him before he could harm anyone!"
"And don't you think that you are also causing harm right now?"
Morro paused for a moment and looked at the buildings around him,
His powers where destroying them even more.
"Morro! Calm down let's just talk"
He finally gives in,
The wind stops and Lloyd is finally able to stand without having to hold on to anything.
"Look I am sorry you didn't become the green ninja, but that doesn't mean your work has gone to waste you can still do good, green ninja or not"
"Easier for you to say, you're thy green ninja"
"Hey look! My friends also wanted to be the green ninja but they're ok with just being regular ninja now"
"They didn't want it as much as I do"
"They did! They never wanted anything more than to be the green ninja, but by time they accepted that none of them was the green ninja, they realized that they didn't have to be the green ninja to be special"
"Humf, dump"
"Morro, the green ninja is just like you said, a title it's doesn't correlate to you being the best in fact I am the worst green ninja ever"
"I would have been a better choice"
"Exactly! You are more fit for being the green ninja! But fate choose me, fate can be annoying and confusing sometimes but maybe fate had better plans for you than being the green ninja"
"Like what?"
"That question is yours to answer"
"Now you're talking like wu"
"Ugh, I know I'm also freaked out"
"...... fine, I guess I won't be defeating you.... today"
"Good to know"
"But I'll come back! So you better be ready"
"I will"
Morro then felt a grip around his neck and a weight pushing on his back.
"POWERS OF THE KOALA! Quick Lloyd run I'll hold him off"
"Dareth it's ok he's not gonna hurt anyone!"
"RUN YOUNG LLOYD I AM READY TO SACRIFICE- ....... really?"
"Get of me or you're gonna be the exception"
Dareth jumps off of Morro's shoulders.
"Heh fine but it's not because I'm scared! I am just listening to Lloyd"
"Yeah sure...... hey Lloyd, can you do me a favour?"
"What is it?"
"Don't tell wu that I was here"
"Why"
"He..... he thinks I am dead, I wanna keep it that way..... I am not ready to face him yet......"
"Don't worry your secret is safe with me"
" Thanks, and if you ever get in trouble you can really on me, I am the only one who's allowed to defeat you!"
"Heh ok"
"And you can rely on me too!"
" Thanks Dareth, I'll consider it"
" I gotta go now before anybody sees me, a big tornado is kinda hard to miss"
"Will I ever see you again?"
"Only time will tell"
"You can come take a picture with me whenever you want!"
Morro ignored dareth and stormed off.
Now that he's not dead set on becoming the green ninja he needs to figure out what he wants to do now.
Whatever it is he's not going to fail this time.

Curse of the Clans part 35!@scentedcandlecryptid
Content warning!! Blood, anger, minor injury.
The very sudden departure of the turtles left April feeling alone and vulnerable. The lair seemed painfully empty, even with the usual drone of Splinter’s cartoons, so the first chane April got to go to the surface, she took. She made up the excuse to visit the post office; she was expecting mail, after all, and more importantly it was a good distance away from the lair, so she could take her sweet time getting back. She didn't expect the letter to be there so soon, but it was. Opening the letter, she was so confident and sure that the position would be hers-- she had planned everything out so perfectly! She opened the letter the moment she got outside, too eager and excited to wait. Then she wished she had waited when she started to read the short letter of rejection.
“O’Neil!”
April looked up and saw Cassandra Jones making her way across the street, expertly dodging cars without a care as to using the crosswalk that was less than a few feet away. A few of the cars honked, but Cassandra didn't care beyond flipping a few of them off on her way across.
“CJ, did you not notice the crosswalk less than two feet away?” April gave an exasperated sigh.
“I noticed it! But I also noticed you, so I had to choose.”
“Did you? Did you really?”
April still couldn’t believe how much Cassandra had changed over the last few months. She was starting to grow out her hair; though it was only a few inches, she was certainly showing improvement. The oily, black scruff was held out of her face by a black bandana. April wasn’t sure she could ever get over the kunoichi wearing street clothes instead of her normal ninja uniform, even if Cassandra hadn’t worn it since that last stand against Shredder. She still had her red mask, however, wearing it over her mouth like she always did. Without the constant strain that training and patrols and battles put on her body, Cassandra seemed brighter and healthier. The muscles built from years of hardened labor were still defined, but now joined with some soft fat that was starting to form around her hips and stomach.
As April started to walk, so too did Cassandra, eager to learn about what she was sure was her friend's victory. April was smiling now, so that must have been a good sign, right?
“So I see you got your letter~” Cassandra practically purred, “When’s your first shift?”
April shifted her face mask higher up her nose, bending it a little further so it would stop fogging up her glasses. She couldn’t think of a verbal response that wouldn’t leave her in tears, so she just passed the letter over to Cassandra so she could read it. Cassandra only managed to get a few lines down before she gave a loud gasp that made April flinch.
“REJECTION?! No no no no! This has to be some sort of mix up!”
“It’s not…”
“Maybe some other April O’Neil applied for the job and this letter was meant to go to her!”
“What are the chances of that?” April sucked a shaky breath between her teeth.
“It could happen!” Cassandra insisted.
“WELL, IT DIDN'T!”
April hadn’t meant to raise her voice, but she did. It was loud enough for some of the closer pedestrians to stop and look before they continued on their way, and enough to make Cassandra stop dead in her tracks with a look not unlike a wounded puppy. Then her hurt expression turned to wide eyes as her gaze turned to April’s chest and shoulder as both seemed to glow bright in a green fire. Even the dark of April’s eyes held a sudden ring of emerald, if only for a second.
April didn't notice the flash. She felt an uncomfortable heat searing through her chest and her shoulder ached worse than anything else, but she didn't care. She took a deep breath and as her chest raised it only served to further feed the fire burning through her heart and lungs.
“It… didn't.” April kept walking.
Cassandra stayed where she was at first. Then she noticed that April was rapidly disappearing from her sights and she hurried to keep up.
***
April didn't know what was happening to her. One minute she was fine and getting ready for bed, and the next she was crumpled over, clutching her chest as gumdrop-sized tears forced their way out of her eyes. She saw endless green stained with blood and then she was back in the lair. Then with another bolt of intensity, the pain show from her chest to her stomach and her hands moved to clutch the new area of agony. The lair was on fire, she was sure it was, and the orange heat licked around the walls and smoke forced its way down her throat… but then it was gone, and the floor was cold, but she was not. Her skin glistened with a thick coat of sweat that dripped down her arms and drenched her locks flat to her face. It wasn’t right. Leonardo said the pain should’ve gone away by now, but it was only getting worse! And now she had to wait weeks before he could come back to help her.
April let herself enjoy the coolness of the floor for just a moment longer before she used the bed to pull herself to a kneeling position. She had to pause for a breather from the strain, resting her head on the comforter and using it to wipe some of the perspiration off her face. Then she sucked in another breath and held it as she straightened the rest of the way. She was undeniably thirsty, and right now she wasn’t sure she could even sleep if she tried. Walking usually helped to get rid of the pain, if only for a short while. So that’s what she was going to do.
When she got to the curtain that acted as the door to the kitchen, she stopped. She could hear voices, which wasn’t too unexpected. When Cassandra had been told that the turtles would be gone for two weeks, she had immediately offered to stay at the lair so that Splinter wouldn’t get too lonely. Splinter was more than willing to let her stay with the promise of a friend to converse with. April couldn’t help but to eavesdrop on the conversation.
“Blew up at me in the streets!” Cassandra was saying, and April immediately knew it was about her.
“She was probably just upset that she keeps getting rejected, Cassandra.” Splinter offered, “I know the feeling all too well from my acting days.”
“No, Splints-- she literally blew up! Her chest and shoulder were like… like green fire! And so were her eyes!”
April’s eyes went wide. Green fire? She looked at her affected areas and bit her lip.
“She’s been getting worse, ever since Shredder--”
April didn't know what it was about that sentence that made her furious, but she couldn’t ignore it. She threw open the curtains and announced herself to the duo quite violently, making both Splinter and Cassandra snap their heads to look at her like startled animals.
“April!” Splinter gawked, “I thought you went to bed!”
“I got thirsty, sue me!” April snarled in such a way that Splinter recoiled away from her. “You would’ve just loved for me to stay in bed so you could talk about me all night, wouldn’t you?!”
“April--” Cassandra tried.
April didn't care to listen. “Well, whatever you have to say about me, you can say it to my face!”
Cassandra and Splinter looked at each other, neither of them seeming willing to be the one to talk next. With a hushed and quick encouragement from Splinter, Cassandra finally stood up.
“April, we’re really worried about you--”
April didn't stick around to hear it. She threw the curtains shut as hard as she could as she stormed off, tears returning to her eyes, though these were of rage and not pain. She needed to do something, to blow off some steam before she did something that might hurt Splinter or Cassandra.
April found herself in the dojo with no real intention of what she wanted to do. She was blinded by her tears, but her body guided her first to the weapons cabinet to collect her bat and then to one of the many dummies that lined the left side of the dojo. April wasn’t even sure where Donatello kept getting them!
She swung at the dummy, but the impact was hardly felt as her mind grew wings and took her further and further away from the actions of her body. She wasn't hiding this thing as well as she had thought-- she still didn't know what it even was. And if Splinter and Cassandra were already talking behind her back then April had no trouble believing that the brothers were too. Her friends. All her classmates at school. They were all talking about her behind her back and laughing at her and making fun of her-- she knew they were!
When April came back down to earth and out of the dissociative rage, she had to push her hair out of her face because she couldn’t believe what she was seeing. The dummy laid broken and beaten in front of her, shattered in several different places with wood splintered and stuffing spilling out. For a moment, all she could do was stare at it before her better judgement kicked in and she quickly fell to cleaning up the mess she had caused. They were talking bad about her already, she didn't need them adding unnecessary violence to the list of things to mock about her!
April stopped. Her hands were shaking so badly that every piece of scrap she picked up just fell right back down. So she stopped her attempts and simply stared at her hands, both of them hurting and one cut from the violence of her actions. She pressed her thumb into the wound and winced as a small amount of blood squeezed out of it.
“What is wrong with me…?”

Kai in wonderland
Kai was falling
but that wasn't knew
he's been falling for 15 min
"Give me one reason to not roast you alive." Kai grumbled to the small white dragon he had followed into this never ending hole.
The small dragon gasped as they adjusted their tiny wings allowing them to fall further from the angry ninja's wrath. "Don't blame me! You didn't have to follow me!"
"I thought you where in trouble!"
"You should be more concerned about yourself, noseybody."
"Excuse me?!"
The little dragon blew a raspberry chanting, "Noseybody! Noseybody! Lil fire head can't keep their curiosity off nobody!"
". . . Did you just rhyme noseybody with nobody?"
"Give me a break, I usually don't greet strangers to wonderland from the back door, I'm improvising here!!"
"Wonderland? Nothing about this seems wonderful to me."
"Well maybe if you came through the FRONT DOOR, you could see its wonder." The little dragon grumped and the two fell into angry silence as they continued to fall in the seemingly endless hole.

ROTTMNT Donatello x reader
Note: Sorry I have been gone for so long! I have been wrapped up in school and I also know that this isn't my normal fandom... This is completely self indulgent because he popped on my feed on youtube and he was my first comfort character. And now I found ROTTMNT and I got hit in the face by my best friend on exactly my type... Intelligent, gremlin, cocky, and emotionally unavailable... So this is a complete callout to everyone who has the same type no matter the gender and please enjoy this drabble. And fully expect on several different fandom releases on Halloween including a oneshot for His World. But enough of my rambling! To the story!
Tumblr media
You had been in quarantine for nearly an entire year and now your favorite month had been ruined by the hussle and the bustle of your closest aunt asking you to come to New York. Her explanation was that she was taken ill and she needed someone to look after the house and your youngest cousin April O’Neil, much to your distaste.
It was not that you hated your youngest cousin, opposite in fact you adored her, but you two never exactly saw eye to eye on most things. You two were so close up until about five or six years ago and then she changed and you felt as if for the worst. This change caused you both to drift apart.
Since she was your only friend and family member that got you; this distance caused you swirling into an unhealthy mind set. And you got caught up with the wrong people at the worst time in your life as your younger brother disappeared and your mom got distant.
Which lead you here, packing all research that you had gathered over the past few months since the shredder accident, your Bo staff, and other essential items. Taking the time to slide the delicate frames of your glasses up every few minutes. Your boss Baxter had called you a few minutes ago saying that he set you up an apartment and a plane to New York and expected you be ready for training with Rocksteady as soon as you landed. Thinking about it made you flinch.
Grabbing the metal case with your research, your duffel with clothes and toiletries, and your backpack filled with snacks your Bo and training clothes you headed down stairs. You kissed your mom on the head who was on the phone at the couch; gently leaving a large stack of cash that should last her awhile. You slipped out the front door and slid into a sleek car that Baxter had sent for you.
During the car ride you stayed silent, typing away at your computer, jotting down the breakthrew that you had made. Your specific specialty in his company was the idea of spirits and how to harness them, extract them, and even switch with them. Baxter had found out about you and what people and even yourself, at the time, believed as a silly project about four years ago. You had proven that spirits were real and that there was a possibility to do something with them.
He accelerated you through highschool and college, easily making you apart of a team and gave you everything that you needed for your research. You honestly didn’t care what he would do with it as soon as you had perfected everything in your now extensive project. All you cared about was getting your mom and brother back and he promised to keep the investigation open if you handed all research over to him as soon as you were done.
You barely slept on the plane. Fear creeping up your spine and turned your veins icey as you mulled over what was waiting for you when you landed. The training with Rocksteady was not normal. As he was a huge hog and the training was to get you faster, but it would inevitably end with a concussion and a broken bone as it normally would. Then Baxter would inject you with some green liquid that, yes would accelerate the healing process and you would no longer have any broken bones, but it would feel like your entire body was on fire and your back feeling like it was being ripped to shreds.
You eventually drifted into a fitful sleep. You felt like you had barely closed your eyes before you were woken up by the gentle but cold hand of Baxter. You were in a car now just outside of headquarters.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Oh MAh Gawd! Y/N! What happened to you?!” You winced at the worried yell that came from April. You had just gotten released from the lab and your head was pounding from the lack of food and water.
“Just a little scuffle just outside the office. Don’t worry about it.” You croaked out and offered a, what you hoped to be, a reassuring smile. You tried to swallow against the sandpapery walls of your throat.
You felt her soft but calloused hands cup your face as she looked at you. You winced as she prodded at the dark bruises on your jaw and forehead. She lead you to the kitchen where she started to clean the bruises and cuts up.
After several cups of water and an entire pizza, which you had devoured, she was now questioning you.
So you are working for Baxter?” she asked, you gave her a quizzical look as you swallowed another bite of the second pizza that she had ordered. You had heard the slight tremor of fear in her voice and now it set you on edge.
“Yeah..” You answered slowly and pulled out your laptop. “He is funding my research. Take a look.”
You pushed the computer over and let her skim through the many pages of work as you dumbed down what she was reading.
“So... what you are saying is that you could put someone in a comatose state and do whatever you wanted to them but at the same time you can still talk to them in a spiritual state?” she summarized. With a soft smile you nodded, your eyes heavy from the long two days you had.
“However there are some side effects. With the trials that I ran at home it is extremely difficult to put them back in and more often than not their mind can completely erase one or multiple people from their memory. They will always remember the time they were, what I call, Ghost. There are still kinks in it but i'm pretty sure in this state there is a possibility to redirect this targeted amnesia to get rid of trauma.” You said excitedly.
She gave you a terrified look and excused herself and ran out the front door into the dim light of the dawn. You felt like you had been punched in the gut. Tears formed in your eyes and you fought down the urge to sob and throw up your food. You slammed the computer closed and stormed into the guest bedroom. You had honestly thought that she was going to be proud of you. She seemed genuinely excited about your research. But it was April, you shouldn’t have expected anything less from her.
A few weeks drifted by lazily and October was slipping through your fingertips. April was avoiding you, especially after you caught her in the act of trying to steal your laptop. So today, as a way to get away from the dreariness of the apartment and the fearful glances of April you were in the lab. You were in a loose hoodie and had a stack of pizza boxes next to you along with a large jug of water on your other side. You had just gotten done with another training session and were now working on a new test. it had gotten dark out and Rocksteady had volunteered for the new test.
You scraped your hand roughly through your hair in frustration as the program refused to start for the third time. You huffed in frustration, and looked up in alarm as the security alarms started to go off. You heard an explosion from behind you. Reaching down and grabbing your Bo you didn’t notice the jug being knocked over causing the computer to go haywire. You panicked as you tried to shut down the computer and the large machine pointed at whatever caused the explosion.
However you were too late to stop it from going off once you were able to press the emergency shut off just in time to prevent it from happening again. You heard a shout and roars from Rocksteady. you tried to reach for your more enhanced staff but were swiftly knocked out. All you saw as the world started to darken was green and a ghostly purple figure.
~~~~~~~~
That was a couple of days ago. You were now with 6 foot tall turtle ninjas. They had explained, with the help of April, what Baxter was going to do with your research. The person that you had shot was their brother Donatello. The genus out of the group who was allowing you to use his lab as you tried desperately to keep his body stable and fix his state with what little tools you had.
Your own paranoia had shot through the roof as any fast movement caused you to flinch very heavily. You and Donnie had found out that Baxter was injecting you with mutagen after a nightmare filled night caused wings to sprout from your back.
You stayed away from the other three turtles and only finding solace with Donatello. You both could ramble on and on about different projects you both were working on and the other would listen intently.
You hadn’t noticed how comfortable or how hard you had fallen until you reached the end stages of completing the ray that would make him right.
Neither of you two had noticed that you had started to flirt with each other. But everyone else knew and were eagerly waiting for him to return to normal. They were excited to see him finally kiss you and actually take you out on that date that he had been teasing you for a month with. April was happy to see you smiling again.
You didn’t realize how much you loved him or he you until you both were going over some of your note s to make sure everything was in order.
It was the end of November, just before thanksgiving. Donnie was excitedly telling you that he had been working on a surprise for you with Shelldon. That he wanted to give it you in person. And that he was excited to finally eat something instead of just watching everyone else eat. He was also rambling on how he was totally going to spar with you.
“i'm excited to finally get an infamous hug from you Don!” You chuckled barely paying attention to the notes and more on him. He laughed and he floated closer to you.
“I’m excited to give you one Angel.” he said cheekily. You glared lightly at him and the nickname that he gave you after your wings came to be.
You however stopped in your tracks as you read the small but major detail that you had mentioned to April all those weeks ago. The air ran from your lungs as a soft. “Oh.” escaped your lips.
“What?” he asked worried. He turned to the computer that had your notes on it and read through it and his face dropped. Tears welled in your eyes and the amount of hurt that ran through you was like that day that April ran.
And something inside of you knew, even as Donnie tried to think of anyone, anyone at all that he could possible forget, you knew it was going to be you. You stared at him tears running down your face and it was then you realized how hard you had fallen. And how much you will lose.
Two days before Thanksgiving was the day that was planned to fix him. You were in a room alone with his Ghost. You couldn’t look him in the eye.
“Here,” he said softly, and gestured for Shelldon to bring a small box forward. “This is for you... don’t open it until my eyes do.. ok?” He said leaning down and trying to catch your eye. You looked up at him, willing the tears back and smiled brightly.
“Will do Don! I will see you for that hug ok?” he smiles back softly and nods. He hovers his hand over your cheek, you lean into it until you feel the cool radiating off of him and you closed your eyes.
That unspoken ‘i love you’ rang through you head as you heard the machine wurr to life. You only stare at him as he floats by his sleeping body and you pray, you hope, and you plead to whatever god is listening. To allow you to have him, to allow him to remember you. As you slowly nod your head and you hear April press the button.
~~~~~~~
You try to stifle the sobs in your throat as you hear him and his brothers enjoy their thanksgiving meal that April and you had prepared for them. He didn’t recognize you as you sobbed in happiness when you saw his eyes open. He thought of you as a threat.
You carefully pulled out the small box as Shelldon floated beside you. You looked at him and he bobbed his head in acknowledgement. Slowly opening it you tried to steady your shaking hands. Inside was a locket, a bit larger than one you would find in a jewelry store. You carefully opened the locket and you saw a picture that you had taken with ghost Donnie and the music box version of your both favorite techno song. Engraved on the other half was the french translation of I love you. A loud sob ripped its way from your throat as you clutched it to your chest.
Donnie was leaning against the wall closest to where you had ran off too. He was watching his brothers laugh and eat with their father and April. He had heard sniffling from the tunnel and quietly escaped the celebration to see where it had came from. He was surprised to see you covering your mouth and Shelldon with you. He was going to call to his creation until you had looked at Shelldon and pulled out a velvet box.
He waited a moment, watching you open it and something inside. He had to nod his head to the song that played. He did not expect the loud sob or the wail that came out of you next. He heard his brothers stop laughing and heard a soft.
“They opened it...”
“Yeah...”
“Poor Y/N... I can’t imagine.”
“Why can’t we tell him my sons?’
“Because he wouldn’t believe us.”
“Yeah! And he already distrusts Y/N... and they asked us not too.”
“A broken heart is something that can kill my children. Especially with a love that deep.”
Donnie didn’t hear anymore from his family. And confusion seeped into him. What happened while he was out?
Palutena Guidance: Yukimaru
Tumblr media
 Yukimaru: “Excuse me.”
Pit: “Hmm? Who are you?”
Yukimaru: “Pardon my intrusion, zam. My name is Yukimaru. By any chance, can you please tell me where I am right now? I was training in Snow Melody only to suddenly appear here.”
Pit: “You’re in Skyworld right now.”
Yukimaru: “Skyworld? I never heard of that place before. Considering the clouds and your wings, I take it that this is an alternate Celestia?”
Palutena: “You could say that. Your friends, Adell and Rozalin requested to bring you here, Yukimaru.”
Yukimaru: “Sir Adell and Miss Rozalin are also here? That would explain why I haven’t seen them lately, zam. That’s a relief. I was starting to get worried about them, zam.”
Pit: “Why do you keep saying zam?”
Viridi: “Yukimaru is one of the surviving kunoichi from Zenon’s attack on Snow Melody. Young ninja say “zam” as a way to focus their chi.”
Yukimaru: “That’s right, zam. My brother and Sir Adell say that I have matured, but I still have doubts about my capabilities, so I still say “zam” sometimes though not as often as I used to.”
Pit: “Really? So, if I start saying “zam”, will I be able to concentrate my chi?”
Viridi: “I think you’re too innocent to be a ninja, Pit.”
Palutena: “Well, Yukimaru isn’t much better. While she has undergone all the extreme training with her older brother, Fubuki, Yukimaru prefers not to fight unless if she has to. Not to mention, as you’ve seen earlier, she’s also very kind and polite. This isn’t surprising since the people of Snow Melody are known for their warm hearts, allowing them to withstand and master the toughest of colds. It wasn’t until she met Adell that she started becoming more determined.”
Yukimaru: “Sir Adell taught me the importance of having a strong will, to never give up no matter how bad things become. It’s for that reason that I swore my blade to him, zam. I can’t thank him enough for everything he and his family has done for us.”
Viridi: “Well that and you being attracted to his manliness and cologne.”
Yukimaru: *blushes* “Wh-Who told you that, zam?!”
Pit: “Well Yukimaru, if you were training, then how about we go a few rounds? As the captain of Lady Palutena’s army, I have to keep practicing myself!”
Yukimaru: “Hmm...Very well. I accept your challenge, zam.”
Palutena: “As a ninja from Snow Melody, Yukimaru relies on ice-based attacks, meaning she has a chance of freezing you if you’re not careful. She can also trade places with a snowman in order to evade and counter attacks and has learned the art of the henge, which is the art of transformation, though she hasn’t fully mastered it yet. She can only temporarily make herself look like someone else, but is unable to copy their voice or abilities. As with any speedy tricksters like her, timing will be crucial in this battle, Pit. With enough focus, you can achieve anything.”
Chapter 12 [FF | AO3] of Whirlwind (SQ fic): Jake should be used to ominous predictions by now. Randy should know better than to blindly follow McFist. Adrien should think twice before sneaking away. And Danny should’ve expected something like this when he got that phone call.
7:46 PM
“Don’t come here,” Gabriel hissed. “If you’ve captured Chat Noir, simply take his Miraculous! I want that ring.”
“Bringing him to you while he wears his ring is the same as bringing his ring to you,” was her infuriatingly mild response. “Unless you care to revise the terms of our agreement and specify that you would like only his ring?”
Gabriel ground his teeth. He knew what she was trying to do. “Take his Miraculous,” he repeated. “I have no use for the boy. If you bring him here, his fate is on your head.”
He thought that would give her pause. Instead, she asked, “Are you so afraid of him?”
“I know you don’t like needless death, Dracona,” he snapped. “If you believe bringing him to me will save him, you are sorely mistaken.”
“You don’t want to know who he is?” she asked lightly. “For the next time he foils your plans?”
“There won’t be a next time if you give me his Miraculous this time.”
“How can you be so sure of that when he could face you using a different Miraculous?”
Gabriel stilled. How did she know that? He had never told her of the Miraculous beyond asking her to fetch Chat Noir’s, and he didn’t recall naming the ring as a Miraculous until now.
She must be guessing. She couldn’t know more.
He wasn’t willing to bet on that, though. She’d surprised him by having that blood magic of hers; he wasn’t about to assume she was ignorant of other magics. “We’ll meet on the rooftops, then. The former venue.” He didn’t want to make this concession, but she’d use a refusal against him. It was far better to meet her away from prying eyes than to have her find him where he stood now. Besides, he knew to be careful. She’d only captured Chat Noir; the other heroes he’d seen acting earlier were still out there, as was her son.
He suspected this was her new way of opposing him. She was still trying to bargain with him, trying to find loopholes in their agreement. Still thinking she could get the upper hand. No matter; he’d prove her wrong soon enough.
“No.”
“I beg your pardon?” He spoke slowly, letting his threat soak through the words at her audacity of trying to dictate more terms.
“Go to the roof of your hotel. I’ll find you.”
“I’m afraid—”
“You’re not from here, and this is hardly a residential district. You’re staying at a hotel nearby. Your first choice tells me that much.”
Gabriel let out a growl, and Dracona added, “Or would you prefer I come straight to your room?”
The cane in Gabriel’s grip trembled slightly, and he forced himself to relax. He didn’t want to let her know how much her insubordination irked him. “Very well.” Once he had Chat Noir’s ring, he could recall her akuma and be done with this. She may have inside knowledge of other magical artefacts that might be useful to him, but it was abundantly clear that she wouldn’t part with that knowledge if he didn’t have some leverage. He’d hoped Nooroo’s magic would be enough to keep her on a short leash, but if she could push back this much, he was better off declawing her.
Fortunately, while she wouldn’t remember the incident, he’d know everything she’d told him. That would have to be enough for him when he found his next target.
“Dark wings fall, Nooroo,” he said, letting the magic wash over him.
Nooroo appeared in front of him. “Is this wise, Master?”
“Are you questioning my judgement?”
“No, Master.”
“Then what more can you tell me of her magic? How she could possibly know about the Miraculous?”
Nooroo hesitated.
“Answer me.”
“These things are not meant to be spoken of, Master.”
“Consider this an exception.”
Nooroo swallowed. “Dragons believe themselves to be the protectors of the magical world. While the Order of the Guardians have striven for utmost secrecy themselves, it is likely the dragons are aware of the Miraculous.”
Dragons.
“And you did not think to mention this before?” Nooroo would have known that from the beginning. It was highly unlikely he’d known she possessed blood magic without recognizing its kind, especially after Dracona had unlocked her own power. Gabriel did not appreciate being taken for a fool, yet they all seemed intent to try it—though it did make Dracona’s protection of her family make so much more sense. Her son, especially; as she’d said he’d fought and won his own battles despite still learning, Gabriel had no doubt that her son also considered himself a protector of the magical world.
“You forbade me from speaking, Master.”
A convenient excuse but not likely the real reason. Nooroo’s reluctance to speak of this at all would have been obvious even if he had met Gabriel’s eyes. “Then speak now. What can you tell me about the others? The ghost, the ninja?”
“I do not know specifics,” Nooroo admitted in a whisper. “I believe the Ninja is using magical artefacts to achieve his powers—”
“Then we shall have to see if we can take those away from him.”
Nooroo flinched. “That would not be an easy thing to do, Master. I do not know what the artefacts might be or if they are connected and must be used together. I cannot even guess if they are bound by magic my own cannot unravel. I would have to see them to discern that, as was your plan for any other artefacts we find here.”
“Then we shall see if you can properly evaluate those artefacts once we crush the Ninja. What of this Phantom?”
“Spirits are not uncommon but rarely pose a serious threat to the living realm. They…. The strongest are capable of possession, but—”
“Possession?” That was not a threat that should have gone undisclosed. “Can you counter it?” When Nooroo didn’t answer, Gabriel repeated himself slowly, letting his anger at Nooroo’s delayed response simmer in every word. “Can you counter it?”
“It’s not the same as when my magic is used to overtake another Miraculous Holder. The spirit magic—”
“I don’t want an explanation. I want an answer. Can you counter it or not?”
“I-I don’t know, Master. I can try.”
He couldn’t afford to expose himself if Nooroo wasn’t certain. “You can shield me from other threats,” he said, keeping his voice deliberately mild. “You said it’s not the same as when other Miraculous Holders are overcome by your magic, but unlike Ladybug and Chat Noir, there are no constraints on how much of your power I can safely access. If you used all your power to fight a threat such as this, could you not protect me?”
“I don’t—”
“Could you not protect me?”
“I could,” Nooroo breathed, not meeting his eyes.
“Then I command you to do so. Protect me regardless of the cost to yourself.”
The kwami nodded and had the sense to hide in Gabriel’s breast pocket instead of arguing.
Gabriel reached up to touch his earpiece. “Nathalie, I’ll be delayed further. Relay to the security team that everyone is to stay off the rooftops for their own protection.” Enough people had seen Dracona that such an order wouldn’t be questioned, and with any luck, Dracona’s presence would be enough incentive for the other buildings where he had no influence to follow suit.
“Of course, sir. Would you like me to see if I can have a lockdown instituted?”
Gabriel considered the idea and then dismissed it; if worst came to worst, he’d need to blend into the crowd quickly—and that would require there to be a crowd in the first place. “Not within the building. I want people to be free to move about inside, but talk to security about getting the streets cleared. There’s no benefit in stalling that any longer.”
“I’ll see to it right away, sir.”
He didn’t need to ask how her negotiations were going. She would be doing an exemplary job; he didn’t pay her for anything less. She knew what he wanted and she’d find a way to get it—most likely while making others think they were doing precisely what they wanted.
As Adrien knew better than to leave his room, Gabriel had no need to check the adjoining suite to know that everything was in order.
Much as he hated letting Dracona choose their meeting ground, he wasn’t going to argue with results. With Chat Noir out of the picture, Ladybug would be easy enough to defeat in the future, even without any other magical artefacts.
7:47 PM
This was not going according to plan. Clearly, there was a reason that Ladybug was the one to come up with their plans. Adrien didn’t even have the room to squirm in Dracona’s talons. The suit protected him from being sliced to bits, but that didn’t mean he couldn’t feel the amount of pressure she was using to keep him in her grip.
The suit also protected him from the cold wind, and he hoped that wind wasn’t going to rip away his words. He needed Dracona to hear this. Even if he could only get her to hesitate, it would give the others time to catch up. “You’re worried about your family, aren’t you?” he asked, thinking that was a fair assumption when they were clearly involved in the magical world and Hawk Moth wanted something from that world enough to put in an appearance. “I’ve met your son. And your daughter. They love you very much.”
Dracona said nothing.
Maybe she couldn’t hear him; he wasn’t whispering, but he couldn’t draw enough breath to shout over the wind.
Or maybe she was just ignoring him.
“I’m someone’s son, too. And if you give my Miraculous to Hawk Moth, you’ll be endangering so many more kids just like your own. You’ll be endangering everyone. He won’t stop until he gets what he wants, and he doesn’t care who gets hurt in the process. It won’t just be your family or mine; it’ll be anyone who’s even remotely in his way.”
Everyone was insisting that Dracona was different because she was part of a family of dragons, but she was still akumatized. Most akumatized people couldn’t be reasoned with, but some of them— Some of them fought back. And from what he’d heard of the dragon earlier—of how no one had been hurt—he was pretty sure that she was one of those people who was fighting back.
She might be like Nathaniel had been as the Evillustrator. From what he’d seen and what he’d heard from Marinette, Nathaniel had tried to resist Hawk Moth more than once. If Susan could keep doing that….
“I heard what happened earlier at the fashion show,” he continued. If he hadn’t begged off shadowing Nathalie, chances were very good he’d have been caught in the middle of it. As it was, everyone seemed to have assumed that he’d never left his room. Perhaps they’d left a message for him and told him to remain there; he hadn’t looked in the brief time he’d been back there, too focused on other things, monitoring Plagg’s cheese consumption included. He could always claim to have been in the washroom when the message came, maybe say he’d needed a shower to wake up.
As it was, too much had happened for Adrien to feel tired. More likely than not, he’d crash once this was over. They had to get this sorted out tonight. Soon. Now. He couldn’t afford to give Hawk Moth more time to find what he was looking for, especially when he had a connection to someone who would know exactly where to procure what he wanted, providing he could convince her to do that.
“I know this night didn’t go like you’d hoped, and I can’t fix that—” Not like Ladybug could have, anyway. “—but that doesn’t mean we can’t begin to make it better now. And better includes keeping your family safe, doesn’t it? You might think that will happen if you give me over to Hawk Moth, but it won’t. Your son and I….” Adrien hesitated, not sure if he could call this a proper partnership, let alone a friendship, when he hadn’t told them his real name. “We’re working together. Sacrificing me—and sacrificing my Miraculous is sacrificing me—won’t make him give up; it’ll make him fight harder.”
“I know.”
Adrien blinked, not expecting to get a response. At least, he hadn’t been expecting that response. An argument, maybe, if not continued silence, but an acknowledgement? It was going to be a lot harder to sway her to his side if she already knew what he was going to say.
“Then why are you doing this?”
“It’s the only choice I have.”
His heart sank at her words, and as she banked towards the site of the gala, he thought it might have skipped a beat entirely. There was a figure on one of the rooftops—and unless he was completely disoriented, it was the rooftop of his hotel. Hawk Moth was staying at this hotel? Surely he wouldn’t have had time to go to a different one. But if it was this one, then if Plagg could get a look at the registry so Adrien could check names once he got back to Paris—
He could discover Hawk Moth’s identity. At the very least, he could narrow it down.
He just needed to get out of this first.
7:49 PM
“Why are you slowing down?” Randy asked. “They’re there! We can see them! We need to go!”
“Danny’s gotta get Chat Noir out of there before we completely lose the element of surprise,” Jake reminded him. “If he can do that without Hawk Moth realizing, all the better.”
“Yeah, that’s not gonna happen.”
“I like to be optimistic sometimes.”
“Really didn’t seem like that earlier.”
“I said sometimes. Besides, it’s better if I drop you here and we hit them from different angles.” He wheeled towards the same rooftop where he’d talked to Randy earlier that day. “I wanna check on Trixie and Spud, too. Make sure they caught up to Haley. If I tell you the number, can you call them for me?”
Randy snorted. “With what, my broken phone that you left in pieces somewhere? Or did you give them one of those earphone things?”
Oh. Right. Jake had used his cell phone as a dragon before, difficult as that was when it came to precise handling and not, well, accidentally gouging out buttons or scratching the screen or completely smashing it, but if he didn’t specifically try to keep the phone with him when he transformed, it stayed safely with his human clothes.
“Sorry,” Jake mumbled as he landed and crouched so Randy could slide off.
Randy flipped onto the rooftop instead, missing Jake’s transformation but turning back in time to watch him dig his cell phone out of his pocket. “You didn’t talk angles with Danny,” he said as Jake started dialling. “Shouldn’t you have done that if you wanted to hit them from all fronts? And, I mean, not to say I don’t have some pretty bruce moves, but is it wise to pretty much divide and conquer ourselves against someone we know is strong, especially when she’s with the shoob who’s manipulating her?”
“Now you’re questioning me? Really?”
“You decided to stop before fighting. That means I get to criticize, doesn’t it? Since I’m not doing anything else. I mean, I don’t usually get the luxury of a breather in a fight. You seriously do?”
Jake rolled his eyes and was about to retort when Spud picked up his phone. “Hello?”
That wasn’t Spud.
“Trixie? What’s going on? What happened to Spud?”
“He’s fine. We’re both fine. Don’t worry about us.”
Jake frowned and turned away from Randy, who had pulled off his mask in order to make increasingly silly faces at Jake in what was undoubtedly an attempt to get a reaction out of him. “Then you guys found Haley already? Have you dealt with Rotwood? And, um, McFist?”
“Not exactly.”
“What do you mean, ‘not exactly’? Where are you guys?”
“Cool it, Jakey. Spud had an idea. I’m helping.”
“Wh—? I need you here! Haley needs you here!”
“We’re trying to save your butt. And Haley’s. Let us do this.”
“Yo, do you have any idea how crazy you sound right now? Spud doesn’t have time to build another thermos if he can’t find the first one!”
Trixie let out a low whistle. “You would be surprised what ya boy can do under pressure.”
“But—”
“Just trust us. We got this. I think. And Haley can hold her own. Chill.”
Jake just groaned as Trixie hung up on him. He turned back to Randy, about to explain Trixie’s side of the conversation, and then realized that Randy wasn’t there. Jake spun and finally spotted a flash of Randy’s red scarf the next building over. He was steadily making his way towards the building—hotel, Jake realized—where Hawk Moth stood with Susan, who was still in her dragon form and using it to very effectively pin Nino to the rooftop.
Evidently, Randy’s suit had repaired itself just fine.
Jake hoped that wasn’t the only bit of luck they’d have tonight.
7:48 PM
“Magic exists,” Haley said. The words were a bitter betrayal. It didn’t matter that Rotwood already knew about the magical world or that McFist had to be aware of it if he fought the Ninja; the point was that she was never supposed to confirm that knowledge, and now she was.
“Of course magic exists,” sniffed Rotwood. “You are a dragon. I know you are a dragon. Therefore, magic exists.”
Haley glanced at McFist, who shrugged. “I work with a sorcerer. It’s not news to me.”
“Still,” she whispered, “that’s not the same. This magic isn’t like that.”
“We do not have time for games,” Rotwood said. “If you think we do, perhaps I should just phone one of the news channels?”
Ordinarily, Haley would think Rotwood had cried wolf too many times for that threat to hold any water, but after tonight?
She wasn’t willing to make that bet after tonight.
“You have to swear that you won’t tell anyone if I explain this,” she said. Jake and Rotwood had called truces in the past, so he might keep his word, but she had no idea about McFist. Frankly, she didn’t trust either of them as far as Fu could throw them. But, hopefully, if she made this sound important—and told them a little bit of what was important—they might not realize what she left out.
Or how much.
McFist frowned at her. “Any of this going to blow up in our faces?”
“Not if I tell you,” she said carefully, “so you’re warned.”
“Good enough for me.” McFist hesitated. “Except I don’t want to lie to my wife. I don’t lie to her. I’ll have to be able to tell her enough so she knows she can’t push me on this. You good with that?”
Haley blinked.
“And Viceroy sometimes just knows things. Man’s not a mind reader, but he’s good at tricking you into saying things. Not sure I can make any promises with him, either, and expect to keep them. But if you’re worried about this whole magic thing, he knows it’s real, too. Helps me help the Sorcerer. And I can’t keep anything from the Sorcerer. I think he really is a mind reader. Maybe. Hard to say. He hasn’t caught the Ninja yet, either. But he knows things. The existence of magic included, obviously. So you okay with me promising not to tell anyone but with the caveat that those people might find out?”
“You have our word,” Rotwood said. “He won’t intentionally tell anyone, and I won’t tell anyone who doesn’t already know—unless you try to trick us.”
She wasn’t going to get a better deal than that, and it was as much as she’d expected anyway. Rotwood has given himself the out he wanted—he could claim trickery and tell the media—and given McFist the out he’d wanted, and she was left with little more than she’d started with.
“Okay.” What was the best way for her to put this? “The dragon you saw earlier was created with magic.”
“How?” McFist demanded. “Can it be replicated?”
“Not by any of us. It’s not a magic I understand. The person doing this…. They’re not from here. And that dragon? She’s not much more than a distraction.” That wasn’t exactly true, but they wouldn’t know that. Besides, it wasn’t entirely a lie, either. Things would be simpler if it were. “If you—if anyone—kicks up a fuss over the dragon, you’ll be playing right into their hands.”
Rotwood frowned. “This other person, what game are they playing?”
Haley shrugged. “We figured it was better if we could cut them off before they could set any more rules.”
“So you, what, saw me talking to him and figured you had to get us out of there before we messed with your big plan?” McFist crossed his arms. “Gotta be more to it than that.”
“It’s my job to protect people from the magical world, including those who go poking their noses into trouble,” Haley shot back. Rotwood sniffed, maybe because he knew that was supposed to be more on Jake and Gramps and Sun than her at the moment, but she ignored him. “The Ninja’s heard of you,” she said, looking at McFist, “and what’s happening in Norrisville. He gave me some weaponry to help me, um, convince you to leave. If I can figure out how to use it to distract more than just you, all the better.”
“Wait, are you asking us to help you?”
She wasn’t, but Haley nodded anyway. If McFist was going to offer, she wasn’t going to turn him down. She didn’t have a plan—not anymore, anyway—and she doubted Jake had come up with anything yet.
“And what are we supposed to get in return? Are you willing to take me back to the Magus Bazaar?”
“The what?”
“Magical market,” Rotwood said to McFist. “Filled with magical creatures and magical things.”
“Could I get something to take down the Ninja there?”
“I can promise to ask if someone will take you,” Haley said, “and I can promise that you’ll remember this when it’s over.”
“Why wouldn’t we remember this once it’s over?” McFist asked.
Haley cocked her head. “Why do you think so many people don’t believe in magic anymore?”
“If you could do that, Jake would have already done this to me. To Brock. You are stretching the truth, little girl.”
“Ordinary humans aren’t supposed to know about the magical world,” Haley said. “You might know it exists and keep looking for solid proof to share with others, but that doesn’t mean you remember every encounter you’ve had with it. Even Jake knows how suspicious it would be if you suddenly stopped poking around until you saw something that made you suspect the truth again.”
“But…but your brother’s friends—!”
“I don’t know,” admitted Haley. “I think Jake defied direct orders and Gramps smoothed it over. You’ve met my family, Rotwood. If it were perfectly fine for humans to know about the magical world, don’t you think our lives would be easier?”
Rotwood opened his mouth but paused as her words sunk in. McFist raised his eyebrows at him, and Rotwood’s expression sunk into a glower. “It’s Professor Rotwood. But very well. I see your point. However, if you are not able to get me entrance to the Magus Bazaar again, you must do something else for me in the future. I am not going to give up on an opportunity like this without good reason. There is footage of a dragon out there now. Proof. Which means redemption for me as all those who have mocked me realize they were the ones who were wrong. You must think me a fool if you believe I would give this up for nothing.”
She did think him a fool, but she shook her head anyway. “I can’t make an open promise like that.”
“Then I will add the caveat that, whatever I decide, it will not directly endanger the magical world or your family. Or directly expose them. Is that satisfactory, Miss Long?”
Haley bit her lip. She knew this wasn’t what anyone had intended when they’d asked her to distract Rotwood and McFist. It might very well be the opposite of what had been intended. Still, they needed help. And Jake had struck deals with Rotwood before. She wasn’t sure about Randy and McFist, but….
“Okay. Yes. I agree. Help me protect the magical world now and don’t ever tell anyone the truth about what’s going on, and I’ll do something for you later if I can’t get you into the Magus Bazaar.” She looked at McFist, waiting to see what he’d ask for; he didn’t strike her as someone who would let Rotwood take a better deal than him.
“You don’t have anything that’ll grant me the superpower of my choice, do you?”
She shook her head. “There are some potions that grant temporary effects for something specific, but—”
“Like what?”
Haley swallowed. “Invisibility. Flight. Shapeshifting. There are a lot of—”
“Could you get me a bottle of something?”
She wanted to say no. Giving magic to a human, especially one with questionable intentions, was just asking for another situation like they one they were already facing. And if McFist intended to misuse magic and she gave him the opportunity to do so, chances were good Randy would pay the price for her decision later. Still, if she warned Randy and gave him something to allow him to counter whatever she gave McFist, then maybe—?
“No, wait— Have you got anything that will stop magic from affecting me?”
“You’re worried about that sorcerer you mentioned?” she guessed. “I might—”
“No, he’s going to give me a superpower when I destroy the Ninja for him,” McFist said, “and if you can’t give me one, too, then I want something that’ll stop swamp magic in case Booray gets any ideas.”
“Swamp magic?”
“It’s, y’know, swamp magic,” McFist said, waving his hands in vague motions as if that made his point any clearer. “Little pouches of mind-controlly stuff. Freaky. Don’t want it anywhere near me.”
A protection spell, then, or something that would cancel out this other magic. Gramps and Fu would have an idea of what would be best, but she was sure there was something. “All right.”
“And you have to tell me about the NYC Ninja.”
Haley agreed to that condition immediately. If McFist had just said the Ninja, she would’ve had more trouble justifying that grey area, but as he’d specified, she felt no qualms about agreeing at all. It was hardly her fault that he wanted to know about a Ninja that didn’t exist—at least, not to her knowledge.
She wasn’t going to tell him that until he asked, though.
McFist grinned and stuck out his hand. She shook it, then shook Rotwood’s. “You want us to find a way to convince everyone that things are not as they seem, yes?” he asked. “That this new dragon is a hoax? As everyone has always believed of my proof?”
McFist grunted. “People were already muttering about it being some kind of publicity stunt. Better to lean into that. I can even sponsor something if I need to.” He glanced at the bulging pocket of her hoodie again and said, “Let’s have a look at what the Ninja gave you first and see what we can come up with.”
Given that a lot of us are stuck inside with all this COVID-19 stuff, do you have any good TimKon fic recommendations to keep us more happily occupied?
Haha yes! I have this list from years ago but it is way past time for an update.
Disclaimer: these are just things I like, please heed all tags and warnings etc. I'm also not reccing any WIPs because unfinished fics kill me every time.
Crystal Clear by Merit andAnd I'll Tell You No Lies by caecily
Two short takes on soulmate tropes that have to go first because I love them so much, I love soulmate aus, Tim and Kon are soulmates, the end.
Where There's a Wish by LeeayreBeing Robin’s vessel is hard enough: the exhaustion, the life-threatening late night activities, the bruises and bullet holes and broken bones. Trying to hide all that from his incredibly suspicious, incredibly hot new roommate while maintaining his studies and placating his parents? Tim has never had it so hard. Especially since said roommate doesn’t actually know he’s Superboy.
So the setup for this is unusual, I'm not sure if it's based on anything but: superhero identities are Personas, independent (basically magical) personalities created by the wishes of a person or groups of people who act through hosts that have the will to manifest whatever that persona does. Basically: Robin is an independent persona, Tim shares his body with him and when Robin manifests the costume and all the gadgets appear. It's explained throughout the story, but just in case you start it and are like wtf is happening. This possibly should go in the thirds section because the actual pairings in this are: Robin/Tim, Red Robin/Tim, Tim/Kon, Red Robin/Tim/Kon, Red Robin/Superboy, and Red Robin/Superboy/Tim. Red Robin can also be kind of dubconny so watch out for that if it's a concern.
Wing Beats in Reverse by firefrightJason Todd is the third Robin, not the second, growing up in shadow of Tim Drake's death. Despite this, he still manages to form strong bonds with his new family. Especially Damian, who wishes to atone for his past mistakes with Jason's predecessor. But when he's fifteen, a mysterious red hooded figure kidnaps Jason from the rooftops of Gotham, and after that his life will never be the same again.
A Robin reversal AU (ie Damian is the eldest, Dick the youngest) that's Jason-centric but of course that doesn't lessen the Tim angst. Or the Kon angst when he finds out Tim is alive. Hopeful ending, but it doesn't fix everything.Other pairings: JayRoy, StephCass (barely)
Time Flies by by LaroyenaJon Kent is Superboy. Tim's gut instinct tells him that's wrong.(Timkon fix-it where reboot!Tim misses Kon like a phantom limb. And then he gets him back.)
Sometimes you just need to cry over the lack of Kon in your life and this fic provides the PERFECT excuse. Heartbreaking and then happy. (Also brings Colin back UNLIKE DC.)Other pairings: implied Clex
Not Completely Powerless After All by ChimaeraKittenNobody was quite prepared for the kid who runs the company to visit, but they manage, in fact, they might be pleasantly surprised; they weren't expecting him to be nice. Of course, they weren't expecting him to be a possible ninja either, but you gotta take the good with the bad.
Outsider POV!!! I have never watched Powerless so you definitely don't need to be familiar with it, this is just a glorious casefic told by someone who doesn’t know it’s a case.
Matters of the Heart by DMWith Clark off-world as an ambassador to Earth, Conner has to watch over Metropolis. Though it should be straightforward, there appears to be something amiss with seemingly random crimes happening around the city. Conner has a hunch that they’re connected and calls in his best friend to help. But as the two of them spend time together working the case, Conner realizes that his feelings for Tim might not be what he had thought.
A long casefic with feelings, basically everything I ever want.
Stumbling Home by bewaretheboojumIn his mid-twenties, Tim moves back to Gotham City after several years living abroad. He's feeling adrift, unfocused and a little off balance as he tries to re-establish a life in his home town.Kon is a fireman by day and superhero by night. When mysterious fires start cropping up in Metropolis, all signs point to arson. Who better to help him get to the bottom of this arson case than Tim? And really, it seems like Tim could use the distraction...
Another casefic with older TimKon. I didn't like the initial setup with Tim having abandoned his friends for years but it won me over in the end.
the honesty in your body by LaroyenaLuthor's tech saved Kon's life at the cost of his mind. Tim must take a feral Kon across space to restore his humanity... which is just as difficult as one may think.(Batman Omegaverse AU: unabashed TimKon porn detailing their original get-together in their early teens to their definite get-together in their late teens. But mostly porn.)
Yep, this is mostly omegaverse porn and it's excellent and I love it, I really don't know what else to tell you.Other pairings: BruDick
I'm Alone Here, I Think by unluckylokiSuperboy is fighting robots in San Francisco and remembers something that wasn't.There's a new priest in the Naxos temple appointed by Dream of the Endless.Kon is missing something. Tim is missing everything.One day Krypto practically drags Superboy to a remote island in Europe and there's a dark haired guy smiling at Kon like he knows him.Maybe he does.
Sandman crossover but I haven't read Sandman in 500 years so you don't need to know most of it. Kind of identity porn, but more...fraught. Excellent Tim angst (there...might be a pattern here) and I'll be honest I'm not very into all the witches and stuff but overall very enjoyable.
Nowhere But Forward by MishaBerryIt shouldn't have happened the way it did.When Kon finds Tim in Paris, it leads to a night that neither of them will ever forget, for better or for worse. Tim is then forced to confront something he's been denying about himself for a very long time, and Kon begins to question some things about himself. The road ahead is full of twists and turns, but there's nowhere to go but forward.
I really love long fics, but tbh I found this started to drag a little towards the end. I still enjoy it overall with delicious Tim angst.
Plus One SectionSometimes when pickings are slim we can try food we wouldn't normally eat, and sometimes it's delicious. Which is to say these are fics with Tim/Kon/Another Person. Don't go any further if this upsets your OTP soul, I completely understand.
TimKonBartTroika by glitterandlubeThis is kind of written like crack and definitely won't appeal to everyone, but it's a fix-it of preboot where instead of living with the Kents in Smallville and becoming the country boy of Teen Titans (2003) Kon moves to Gotham and then scores with Tim and eventually Bart. Follows the previous canon's timeline almost to the start of Red Robin. Some (honestly warranted) bashing of Steph but also of Lois Lane (???).Also contains explicit Tim/Dick.Other pairings: Clex, JayDick
TimKonCassieTrymmetry by glymrWhy do they feel like something's missing?
Set in a universe where Kryptonians form triad soulbonds. Kon and Cassie have both always been thinking about Tim when they're together, and after Kon comes back they can no longer deny it. They have to find Tim. I wish this was ten times longer.
Heart of the Hoard by firefrightJason is a knight on a mission to save a captive young woman from a cruel and vicious dragon. However, when Jason reaches the keep the girl is kept in, it quickly becomes clear that not all is as it seems with his quest. For starters, Lady Timothea is actually Lord Timothy, and - as Jason soon discovers - he's hardly a prisoner in his tower.
Perfect because Kon is an ACTUAL DRAGON though it does lean on his YJ cartoon characterization.
I (Don't) Want to Believe by chibinightowl and strikeyourcolors
FBI agents Tim Drake and Conner Kent are sent to Arkham Heights High School to investigate a series of unexplainable incidents that have both staff and students on edge. Tim's firmly of the opinion the school is haunted while Kon is positive the occurrences can be explained in a more reasonable manner. After all, he doesn't believe in ghosts.Right? Right?
Horror casefic where Tim had a previous thing with Jason but also a thing with Kon so sharing is the way to go, especially when you're more (or maybe just equally) concerned about being murdered by ghosts in a haunted former asylum.
Okay I am stopping now because otherwise I will continue forever. I hope this satisfies some hunger.
A mostly quiet day in 7th Heaven as Tifa idly cleans around the bar and some of the tables. You have to keep your place of bar and grill nice and presentable!
She hears the door open and the bell rings at the top! Hey, look who it is! It’s Cait Sith! Oh, not just him, but also Vincent and Barret? What are these three doing here together?
Oh, of course, it’s Friday! They’re here for Wing Night! She smirks as she heads back to the grill, having already prepared a round for the boys! She puts it out on the table and kindly reminds that napkins and coasters are perfectly acceptable utensils for eating and drinking as much as they’re going to. She gets a delayed sort of nod from Barret, remembering last time as he nudges the other two to do the same. A pleasant smile from the barkeep as she goes back to cleaning another table.
----------
Soon enough, after some antics and rabble-rousing from the table of friends, Red XIII and Cid manage to make their way in. However, unlike the lads at the other table, they’re strictly looking for business. They’ve got a bounty that they were hoping they could recruit Tifa, Barret, Cait Sith, Vincent or Yuffie for.
Tifa gently refuses, using the bar as an excuse. Cid scoffs and looks down and to the side, before looking over to Barret, Vincent and Cait Sith. Barret looks him dead in the eye and slowly shakes his head. Not Friday night. Not Wing Night.
He looks over to Vincent, who’s eating the wings bone and all. The vampire cares not for societal norms, especially when among friends. He simply arches a brow at the other man idly. Cid shakes his head and doesn’t wish to bother him.
That leaves Cait Sith, who is simply there. He cannot eat the food as he is a puppet, but he tries to fit in and enjoy his time with his friends. He simply looks to Cid with puppy-dog-? Errr, kitty-cat eyes to convince him not to pick him. He simply grumbles and throws his cigarette to the ground to put it out in frustration.
Nobody remembers blinking, but Tifa is right behind him by the time he snuffs it out. She kindly reminds him to pick it up or suffer the consequences. Everyone, even Cait Sith, shivers with unease as she says this. Cid grumbles and bends down to get it, flicking it into the nearest bin, before taking out another and lighting up. He looks to her to make sure she’s fine with it first, but her smile seems less sinister. Sooooo, yeah.
He curses audibly to the ceiling, griping that Yuffie was available earlier until she heard they were using the Highwind again and she ran off. How can a ninja get both seasick and airsick? He huffs and just joins the others at the table, pulling up a seat for Red XIII, even. The lion-wolf creature thanks him kindly and gladly helps himself to the wings, the other men quick to try and stop him from making a huge mess.
-------
Tifa sighs as she has such a handful for friends, but she wouldn’t have them any other way! She waddles her way back behind the bar, humming as she idly leans over it and watches them all have a good time together.
“Ya know, if he wasn’t gonna use the ship, I wouldn’t have had to resort to this.”
“Yuffie, did you even ask him or did you just assume he would say no, again?”
“.................Shit.” She grumbles to herself as, once again, her jumping to conclusions has led her to an unfortunate situation. “So, uhhhh, you’re not gonna tell him, are ya?”
“Nah, that would ruin the fun.”
“Oh, cool. How long do you thi-?”
“Seven hours. Minimum.”
“Why the fuck sev-?!”
“You are the one who decided that you wanted to hide somewhere completely unguessable, by even Cid, in the bar with me on Wing Night of all nights. These boys will be partying into the wee hours, you know~?”
Tumblr media
“Shiiiiiiiiit!!”
“Yes, very. Now, will you quit squirming so much? You are going to make me slip and hit my face on the bar. And I just cleaned it.”
“Whatever...damn these stupid impulse ideas!!”
“Good girl~. Now shoosh, I’m trying to hear the TV.”
Pat, pat, squirm!
“HIC~?!”
