OKAY. SO YEAH. BEEN THINKING ABOUT THIS FOR UH, QUITE SOME TIME. PLS STOP ME IF I GO OFF THE RAILS THOUGH LOL
i guess i kinda went over it in my last fic, but i think when it comes to the belt and its curse, it's not gonna leave easy. like, no. not happening. losing isn't a "get out of being cursed free" card. it gave them fame, power, prestige. it tried to eliminate every possible distraction to ensure complete focus on retaining the title. if someone were to lose the title, there has to be repercussions.
so when one loses the title, i think at first, they need to appear okay. like back to normal, everything's fine, the belt's gone and they lower their guard enough to think that they can finally move on from this nightmare. but then after that false sense of freedom, that's when the real effects kick in. like the hallucinations, which i've been tying to their fears and reasons for wanting the belt. so like for oc, wanting to be taken seriously, afraid that maybe he just got lucky in his career and he is more of a joke, the orange punch failing him because of his arm injury etc. for kip, i know he's talked about that injury and other health issues being a dark time in his life, so incorporating this fear of never really recovering and wasting away, being outcasted for his "weirdness" in the company, wanting validation for his efforts in overcoming all of that.
and of course the more graphic ones where these events are perceived by oc and kip as someone else doing something to them, whether it's enemies, friends, or even themselves or something not even of this world. but from an outsider's perspective, it always looks like they're doing it to themselves (and i tried to be clear on this in my fic but they don't actually want to hurt themselves or anyone else. it's the damn curse of the belt doing this because if you're gonna lose it, it is going to make you suffer for as long as it can, even if that means destroying friendships/relationships).
and then the senses thing. i like to think that the belt sort of dulls things while holding it to make it easier to focus or fight through the pain, so without it, it just turns everything up to 11. sight, sound, smell, taste, touch, everything. it all just goes through the roof and makes even the buzzing of lights sound like a fireworks show. it was probably already enough of an adjustment to go back to normal those first few weeks, but it only gets worse instead of better.
i like to think after they acknowledge that this was the belt's doing and they're not crazy or sick or anything, the hallucinations die down as the message got through, but everything else just comes and goes and it's a matter of adapting to it. like kip says, time doesn't heal you. it changes you. and it's going to change them with how they interact with people, how they interact with each other now knowing what happened to them and that no one else gets it, getting back in the ring and whether they accept opportunities to go after gold again or not (like, could you imagine oc and the best friends getting a chance at the trios titles and oc being the only one hesitant because god. what could those belts do to him or his friends? life isn't the same anymore). it's just a journey to learn how to cope at this point. it's not going away. that belt will forever be around haunting them in one way or another, but they learn to live with it together, helping each other out to keep living as much as they can.

IM SO LATE TO THIS (and right now probably not in the best condition to reply to this but i finally remembered it existed cause theres so many things in my inbox OH GOD) BUT
first of all. absolutely yes to the normal period after losing the title before the real repercussions, cause ive been thinking about that too. there needs to be a false sense of normalcy for a while, as if its because the belt is gone - the adjust period, but its more or less framed under the sense of them just not being a champion anymore, and not actually the true meaning of losing the belt, which is being free from the curse and corruption. i really love the added layer of it directly targeting the corrupteds fears tho (especially through ones self, seeing the one doing the damage being someone they love), that is a really good touch and tbh im just gonna steal that one for the canon of this au now lol
YEAH YEAH YEAH THE SENSES THO!! ive always thought about the dulling pain part tbh, how it makes sure the host fights through everything no matter what, cause holding the belt is what keeps the curse alive and as the challenges get tougher and the champion more worn out, the stronger the curse needs to be and that means feeling less about the punishment you are going through. so it would absolutely make sense to have it be the opposite after its all gone, and especially during the adjust period that would just be. absolute hell. god yes i love this
also i had absolutely not thought about the part about how going after other belts afterwards would feel like oof. but that would be so true tho. for both of them, single and in teams, that would be such a hard task to undertake and i love the added drama of that tbh. even tho no other belt is cursed (as far as we are aware of? idk house of black is holding the trios titles rn and we know what happened with the elite before), thats such an interesting take to it and absolutely something both of them would think about really hard before going for the titles, or letting their friends go for them. absolutely love this one OOF
i wanted to touch the 'time doesnt heal it changes you' part last cause this is an important topic to me personally, but like. thats so true for this tho. how time wont heal their wounds, physical or mental, about this and what they had to go through, it WILL change them. and it does over the course of the time/story too, as they do both learn to cope with the aftermath of this, both together and separately. they do understand each other better now, they can hold each other up and survive on their own. but its a positive change, they cant stop to dwell on healing wounds that will always be there, but they can move on, learn how to change things. and thats just. thats just what this is about in the end, i think. i just hope they, too, realize this on the way

ok short (or not so short idk yet) rant about 2022 / 2023 season in my driver dr
background ive been in a rs with charles at this point for 2 and a half years (since mid 2019)
so basically in 2022 i win my 8th championship and yk its a big deal bcs its the one that breaks the record and for charles it sucks even more in 2022 than another year bcs this was the year he had a realistic chance at the championship for the first time before ferrari (binotto and carlos im sorry but they developed the car closer to carlos so im gonna blame carlos too) fucked it all up so theres a lot of frustration obviously and i now already scripted that we get into a big fight over it all and charles (bcs he doesnt deal well with confrontation) posts the famous breakup story on insta (we didnt breakup but he thought so bcs i was like 'i cant do this anymore' and stormed off but i just meant i cant do this fight anymore right now not the fucking rs) and follows alexandra bcs idk frustration or smth idk and then (shes a morally grey person in my dr im sorry but i dont see her as the good person here i feel kinda bad making her the villain but i need one and she fits the persona well) alexandra (im gonna call her alex bcs its easier to write lol) spreads the rumour of her and charles being in a rs (if youre not into f1 gossip, basically on the day that chacha broke up there was a tweet on insta saying 'yeah look out for alexandrasaintmleux charles just followed her with his private' and more tweets hinting at a rs between alex and charles) and basically puts herself on the map and then ferrari makes charles do a pr agreement with alex bcs it makes sense for him to have a gf (and she has ties to apm monaco one of his sponsors anyway) and also hes been getting hate for breaking up with me (fans love me lol im sorry but he kinda deserves it too in this situation) and ferrari cant have that for one of their drivers ofc so they try to take the attention off that (it doesnt really make sense but then again, ferraris actions never do so were good i think) and i did script charles and i get back together but the question now is when and how bcs i have some scenarios
Scenario 1: we get back together over the winter break and talk it out but the contract is already signed so we need to keep it secret
Scenario 2: we get back together after singapore (which charles wins in my dr) and have to hide it
Scenario 3: Alex is just a rebound (so no pr rs but used for pr purposes and no real genuine feelings more like a hookup gone wrong bcs no one can tell me these two are in love) and we get back together after singapore anyway and they break up
Scenario 4: we get back together somewhere in the 2023 winter break after the pr contract ran out (its for 1 year in my head)
any other ideas are welcome lol bcs maybe im just overlooking the obvious here :)

ok so for clarity im making this post in two parts because i had originally saved the original post as a draft but now something else has happened to complicate the situation but i feel like you still need to see the original post to know my feelings over time
[original post, drafted on august 29th:]
anyway i need a bit of a reality check on this like am i being weird and overthinking it or what
so my store has traditionally been all or almost all entirely women. the most we ever had was like 1, at most 2 guys working replenishment. we’ve had several long stretches where there was not a single male employee
my new SM is, well, a man. and we have many many problems with him for reasons that i wouldnt say are sexism but is mostly just that he’s a bad manager and the store is falling apart because of it and we’re bearing the brunt of it. especially weird dynamic because hes a 50 year old man and the entire rest of the store’s staff are all young women, at most mid 20s, and a sizeable number still literally in high school. our two full time managers, one in her mid 30s and the other in her 60s, have left for various reasons, which means that there is no sort of mediator to advocate for us anymore. its just this middle aged man overseeing a bunch of young women. add on how overbearing and bad he is as a manager in general and its like toxic lol
and so now hes finally started hiring for seasonal and its…. As far as i can tell, literally the only people calling the store saying they have interviews, have been guys.
and so i feel weird, and i feel weird thst i feel weird about it, that we’re now hiring like 5 men. but i also feel kinda justified in feeling weird because i almost feel like this is the SM pulling more weird shit. that he doesnt like this all female dynamic and is now trying to like, idk
IT FEELS WEIRD verbalizing it but hes a very condescending guy and the store is falling apart and so it almost feels like hes now giving up our current all female staff and trying to bring men in to fix it?? like he cant fire any of us women bc we’ve been here longer than him but now hes gonna bring in his own people for the first time and its all men? fundamentally changing the dynamic of the store that has been here for years longer than he’s even been with the company, and to further establish a disconnect between him and his young female staff ?????
am i overthinking it and reading condescension/superiority/whatever the word is into this. like i feel weird for being put off over hiring more than 1 dude per season but also this SM is backhanded like that so i really cant discount that there might be some weird vibes or motives behind this

so now i just found out that this guy, who was literally the guy in the break room having his first day on august 29th, is being considered to be promoted to a manager
which is killing me because theres been all this talk among the managers for literally almost a year now about making me a manager and ive been indecisive because i dont know if i want to or not but ultimately its just been a “what if” situation to me because the actual SM hasnt said a word to me about it! he has never given me an offer. he has never even vaguely mentioned it to me. the only reason i know about it is bc im friends with the other managers and they tell me that hes been thinking about it for a while now
and my framing manager told me that this new guy was being considered as a new manager and i said “well. im actually kind of offended now that hes only been here for a week. meanwhile here i am” and she said “didnt SM give you an offer though?” and i told her that no the SM has not uttered a word to me about this and she was shocked
and its just. this kid has been here literally five fucking days? what the fuck? what the hell is going on. like yeah i am kind of offended actually. i still dont know if i would accept if given the offer but my indecision comes from whether i’d get an adequate raise and i cant come to a final decision without being able to negotiate my raise, which i cant do that if i havent been given the offer !!!! ive been here over two years i know pretty much everything in this store im cross trained on everything and everyone else in this store looks up to me as a non-manager superior and ive been told multiple times by the non-sm managers AND my non-manager coworkers that i should become a manager. meanwhile this guy has been here five days, ive interacted with him for two minutes, and of those moments i spent near him he barely spoke a word to me, and im sure he doesnt have the trust + camaraderie with my other coworkers yet as well, and yet SM wants him to become a manager like five days into him being hired ?!?!?
and again i dont know if i’d accept so thats why i feel kind of stupid for being offended but also like it’d still be nice to have offer ! especially compared to the guy who just started five days ago!!

im not comfy with this going on my main or whatever so im digging out my unused kin blog for it. i just. i forgot how... odd the main kin community is. and how some people interact with the world and each other in a very unhealthy way. there's a reason i dont use this blog or actively participate in kin circles anymore. i mean first of all, im not the original owner of this blog, im a new host with new kins (oopsies). and ive been hurt in too many kin spaces to really. i dunno. i hate seeing people hurt each other or themselves. and on top of that im a fictive, which is a whole other can of worms i wont get into.
anyway, im just. reeling. i didnt think people still made kin posts in main fandom tags. its a small fandom so an even smaller community (ive seen maybe 1-3 other people on that popular confession blog from this source. rip me, no friends lol). but why on gods green earth would you post in character in a main fandom tag, and then turn around and try to police how people interact with the media and characters. it sucks if youre uncomfortable with a specific ship because YOU are aro/ace/any variation therof, but you cant fucking police other people especially when its the most popular ship (and only real ship) in the fandom. thats just. thats not ok. dont tell people to stop, just move on.
im not trying to start shit, but this is something that's always made me really uncomfortable. if you're kin, thats great, me too. but keep that shit to yourself and the kin tags. even if they dont exist. make one. seek out other kin blogs rather than just going to the wider fandom who arent going to understand. if you put out to the main fandom you dont get to complain when they do shit that makes you personally uncomfortable or squicked out or whatever. im not gonna come running in saying "sorry, hamilton/jefferson ONLY who the FUCK is *reads smudged ink on my hand* june loren". silly example but you get what i mean.

i walked quickly around my room in my towel, trying to figure out what to wear. i had done my makeup and hair already, fairly natural so it could match anything, but i still didnt know what i wanted. the company Christmas party was tonight and i wasnt exactly sure if i should go more casual or not. i pulled a few dresses out and tossed them on my bed before flipping through my shirts. when i heard a knock at the door i drew my brows, jogging into the Living Room and looking through the peep hole. to my dismay chris was standing there and i immediately smacked myself mentally. i opened the door slowly.
"hey chris."
i said bashfully and his eyes went wide.
"well thats an interesting surprise."
he said through a laugh and i stepped to the side to let him in.
"if im being honest i forgot you were coming over today."
i said nervously, trying to keep my towel tucked under my arm.
"oh, well uh, do you want me to go? we can hang out another time."
he said pointing to the door and i shook my head.
"no, no, its fine. i could actually really use your help."
i said, grabbing his hand and dragging him down the hall to my room.
"okay?"
he said a little skeptical. when we got into my room he stopped and drew his brows.
"the company Christmas party is tonight and i am at a loss. you always like my looks but i have no idea what to wear."
i said in defeat. i looked to him and watched him stroke his chin, staring down at the bed. he picked up the one knee-length royal purple dress and held it against his chest.
"ya know, if you wore this one, we would match."
he said and i raised a brow.
"Chris, If i wanted a date to the Christmas party i would've asked."
i said and he gave me a suggestive look.
"hey, you asked for my help, we were supposed to hang out today. im just saying, i could go with."
he said, holding out the dress for me with a knowing smile on his face. i sent him a look before sighing and snatching the dress from him.
"so it that a yes?"
he asked as i walked into the bathroom. i stood there and thought for a second.
"...yes"
i said in defeat, watching him fist pump the air as i closed the door.
"i cant believe you even wore a black button down for us to sit on the couch and watch movies."
i said through the door as i pulled the dress on. i heard him laugh a little.
"well i guess i just know you. you always pull something out and i thought i should be prepared. you still have that tie laying around?"
he asked and i opened the door.
"yeah, its hanging in the back of my closet but could you zip this first?"
i asked, turning my back to him.
"who wouldve thought your ex leaving one thing behind would actually help us."
he said and i laughed, watching him disappear into the closet.
"does this count as a friend date?"
i asked, pushing earrings into my ears as he came back out into the room, fixing the tie into place.
"yes, yes it does."

"y/n! glad to see you could make it, a few of us have been waiting for your expertise on something."
my boss said, rushing to the door of the large house as one of my coworkers greeted me.
"oh, uh, okay."
i said lightly, surrendering my coat to the hostess and following carol into the living area. there, a few members of the accounting team were sat around the coffee table, a board game in front of them.
"and whos this?"
Des asked, nodding to chris as he came into view behind me.
"chris."
he said, stepping forward and offering his hand to shake.
"So, is this a boyfriend?"
my boss asked as she sat back on the couch, picking her glass of wine up off the side table. i laughed lightly, looking to him in confusion as he slipped his hand into mine.
"only just."
he said with a smile and i sent him a look.
"oh, well you two watch out for the mistletoe then, wouldnt wanna get too caught up."
jerry said, raising his glass to us. i laughed nervously.
"right."
i agreed, taking my hand back from chris.
"hey, you wanna go find us something to drink?"
i said suggestively at him and he nodded.
"ill be right back i guess."
he said to all of them before taking off down the short hall to the kitchen. i turned and looked back at all of them.
"so, what was it that you needed me for?"

as i walked with chris back out to the car he held my hand tightly. i could feel him shivering as snow started to fall around us. if anything the temperature dropped significantly since wed arrived and you could definitely tell.
"m'lady."
he said, letting go of my hand and opening the door for me.
"thanks."
i said as he shut it, me watching him jog around the car to the driver side.
"it is way too cold out there."
he mentioned, starting the car and rubbing his hands together. i turned the heat up and did the same, trying to warm up.
"agreed."
i said as he pulled slowly out of the driveway.
"hey,"
he said after a while and i turned to look at him.
"thanks again for letting me tag along."
he said and i smiled.
"no, im glad you did. im sure things wouldve been much more awkward. i am sorry for all the questions though."
i mentioned and he shrugged.
"its no big deal, i shouldve figured it would happen when i told them we were dating."
he said with a smile and i laughed.
"yeah, now im gonna get questioned around the office about my non-existent boyfriend."
i said and he shook his head.
"eh, it seemed like the most logical reason for me to be there."
he said and i nodded slowly.
"yeah i guess youre right."
i said with a side nod.
"besides,"
he said, drawing my attention.
"ive been wanting to ask you to be my girlfriend for a while but it just never seemed like the right time."
my eyes went wide as i stared at him, him looking to me quickly before turning his gaze back to the road.
"you want me to be your girlfriend?"
i asked and he let out a nervous laugh.
"i mean, if you want to."
i nodded quickly, taking his free hand into mine and interlocking our fingers.
"id love that chris."
he sent me a quick smile.
"great cause this wouldve been one awkward drive home if not."
i laughed, nudging his arm with my elbow.
"good thing you dont have to worry about it anymore then."
i said and he nodded.
"you are absolutely right. and now you dont have to worry about lying to your coworkers."
he said and i shook my head.
"no i dont."
i said leaning over the console and kissing his cheek quickly.
"what was that for?"
he asked and i shrugged.
"just a thanks."
he looked to me with a brow raised.
"thanks?"
he asked and i nodded.
"for making this Christmas a special one."
i said as he pulled up to the stop light slowly, finally looking at me fully.
"its the least i could do."
he said and i laughed.
"merry christmas chris."
i said, leaning in and giving him a quick but proper kiss. he smiled at me before turning back to the road and taking off as the light turned green.
"a merry christmas indeed."

okay this is literally the same story ive seen before at least three times. its word to word the same. youre not even trying
reblogs only from original posts. they have gotten "smarter" tho as this blog followed me in attempts to try to show its "real". and yet they havent reblogged from blogs they supposedly follow, only from probably the top posts from some popular tags and only from the original posters. also please note literally all the posts in their blog have been reblogged today within the past three to four hours (apparently im so loopy i cant read times rn, its been about the past 15 to 16 hours but the point still stands, they are all reblogged within the last 24 hours)
also they try to act more human with a decent description and likes and follows turned off. dont try hun
their only original post as far as i scrolled (which admittedly wasnt very far as its obvious this is a scam lol) is the donation post. unsurprisingly

1. top 3 ships: uhhhhhhhh, im gonna say currently rather than all time, glimmer x adora x catra, idk lol its a cute idea and theres a bunch of cute art of them together lol. ive been rly enjoying my next life as a villainess, the mc, catarina, doesnt realise she has at least 2 girls in love with her with a 3rd on the way. i wish i could believe it will resolve in polyamory but. maybe we'll at least see her get a gf. bc. its been very blatant about her friends being in love with her. one of them, mary, has been in love with her for years and is trying to sabotage anyone else falling in love with her, and the other, wont say who bc spoiler, is her reincarnated best friend (its an isekai show) but doesn't realise it, and in the last episode some magic made her speak without inhibitions, and the first thing she does is tell catarina she loves her in like, the romantic way. so you know, fingers crossed. other than thaaaaaat... uhhhhh.... oh i guess poppy and barb from trolls 2. i like that movie. wish it was as gay as it clearly wants to be. also i need to keep watching rwby, ruby/weiss/penny is rly cute.
2. last movie i watched: i watched. half. of osmosis jones with friends earlier today. very gross movie. last complete movie was probably the cgi tintin movie..?? good but idk. before that was trolls 2, for the 2nd time. those movies are great.
3. last book i read: i cant read. well i have adhd so i dont read much anymore. i miss novels but i do listen to audiobooks. currently listening to interesting times by terry pratchett with my gf. last physical book i read was uncaged vol 1, a book of queer dnd adventures with a focus on like, uhhh, monstrous women iirc. its good. def recommend. havent read the whole thing tho.
4. food im currently craving: idk how to answer this lol. i could rly fuck with some mcdonalds or burger king. anything salty spicy and deep fried.. im a glutton and i have sensory issues with food. i tend to eat mostly comfortable or safe foods with good textures and tastes. anything outside my comfort zone usually bad stims me, which is like. horrendous. it makes food hard but also like. good food is rapturous. i like stir fry a lot. my gf cooks stir fry a lot and i always love it. and i like putting condiments on things. bbq sauce, soy sauce, and like, if i can get it theres this rly good peri peri salt they sell at nandos. god i love salt and spicy things. i had a korean burger once that was so spicy i couldnt finish it in one sitting and god i want another. it had a black bun and the chicken was bright red with spices, it was great i miss it. theres this spicy burger mcdonalds did once that had like. battered and deep fried jalapenos on it and spicy salsa and chicken and it was godly. oh and the spicy shaker fries. miss those. dream burger would be something like, korean spicy chicken with some kind of sweet tangy spicy sauce, battered jalapenos, bacon, salad, and a hashbrown coated in some kind of spicy salt. i used to like subway a lot but idk now. i also love donuts. and pastries. and oranges and citrus fruit in general. pears are great too. im not usually into like, candy or chocolate tho its too sweet. oh i love chinese food. noodles and rice and meat and vegetables and sauces, all packed with flavour and amazing textures... chinese food is so good. sushi and japanese food in general tends to be my jam too. most things with rice are rly good. not curries tho i cant eat many curries, i like butter chicken tho thats always good. i could keep going lol i love food. oh turkish food is good. and greek? lots of good meats. tho i cant deal with uhhh... tabouli, parsley kills me on contact idk. and cilantro. but i love souvlakis those are great. pasta is alright, i like tortellini and ravioli and gnocchi with lots of cheese. oh and pizza. with everything on it. especially anchovies. i love anchovies and olives and feta... and pepperoni... and garlic bread. cured meats in general are very good. root vegetables too. capsicum and chillis are yummmmm. im sure i could go on... food is. so good. its euphoric. oh i love ramen too! and uhhh, ramyun i think its called?? i think its korean? its spicy and very good. thicker noodles too. anyway i should stop this is too much lol.

I watched Skam France first bc I’ve been around since og skam lol... skam france was the first remake that came out and i watched the clips as soon as they came out... for the first little while lol. i was originally really excited bc i speak french so it was a skam i could finally understand but s1 was meh for me. my favourite remake is druck bc they said trans rights (also like... the storytelling, cinematography, etc)
3. If you could have anyone’s wardrobe from the original who would you have?
Isak for sure bc he’s probably the closest to what i wear generally

about a week later and i was itching to get back into it. i felt useless sitting at home healing, and bucky new that. so when sam called, though he was hesitant to let me go, he told me what was going down anyway. he helped me get dressed and we made our way to the meeting spot.
when we got there it was easy to tell sam was uncomfortable with me being there. he made it known i should be at home resting. but i made sure he knew i could be useful in other ways. bucky and sam both knew it was a losing battle to argue with me, even if i had a hard time doing anything by myself. so when john showed up again, this time by himself, we all were angrier than we were the first time.
"what is it gonna take for you to actually piss off?"
i asked and he faked hurt.

i held my hand against my abdomen.
" as much as a bullet wound?"
i asked and he sent me a look.
"you know i didnt do that on purpose."
i side nodded.
"do i?"
bucky stepped in front of me.
"what are you doing here john?"
"im here to help."
"i think youve helped enough."
i could tell bucky was on edge. if anything he was shielding me as best he could incase anything else happened or progressed.
"we both know you need me-"
"just like that?"
same asked, shaking his head and also stepping forward.
"we can just move on, work together-"
"you shot my girlfriend john! you think im just going to move on from that?!?!"
bucky yelled. i could tell he was getting tense. i touched his shoulder gently.
"bucky let it go."
i said calmly, just to him.
"no! i wont! and i find it weird that you arent as upset about this as i am."
he was almost in hysterics, looking from me to john.
"she has done nothing but try to be nice to you and this is the thanks she gets."
he said with a harsh tone, stepping away from me and getting into johns face. i breathed deeply, wincing at the pinching feeling in my side. sam looked worried as he tried to study me and make sure they didnt lunge at each other.
"ive only ever just been doing my job. i cant help it she got in the way."
"oh sure, cause youre job is to hurt innocent people. steve would have never even carried a gun."
john looked away for a second, clenching his jaw.
"im not steve."
"yeah no shit."
"bucky."
i warned and he shook his head.
"youre not steve and youre not captain america."
"i am whether you like it or not."
he quipped back.
"back off john."
i warned but they were still face to face, fuming at each other.
"youll never be captain America."
Bucky seethed. sam hated him just as much and i knew if it came down to it he would protect bucky but he wouldnt get between the two.
"neither will you."
he said and i looked to the ceiling. that was a mistake.
"steve was my friend. you didnt even know him. he was a good man, not some self righteous ass-hat parading around town doing photo ops and signing autographs."
john went to open his mouth until i stepped between them and put my hand on his shoulder.
"we dont have time for this."
i said sternly, placing my other hand on Bucky's shoulder and pushing the two apart. john shrugged my hand off his shoulder, his eyes never once leaving buck.
"i dont see why you all defend him. hes not worth it."
john said and now it was my time to fume over him. before i could even think about what i was doing, my hand was leaving bucky's shoulder and colliding its way into johns jaw.
"y/n!"
sam yelled, bucky holding my arms lightly as john stood back upright.
"hes twice the man youll ever be."
i said loudly, stumbling over and placing my hand at my side my side. bucky tried to keep me steady.
"youll never be captain America because you are the difference between a good man and a good soldier. you only ever do what you think is right in an act of duty, not what you think is right for the good of the people. ive seen it, steve only ever thought about others. he never cared about the title, he only wanted to do what was right."
i was starting to feel light headed
"bucky."
i mumbled out, feeling my legs give out under me.
"shit."
he said and i looked down as he guided me to the floor. i was beginning to bleed through my bandages.
"you dont deserve that shield because you lack empathy john."
i struggled. he just looked down at me with a guilty look on his face. he knew exactly what i was talking about and he could see it now, the consequences of his actions sat on the floor bleeding.
"i hope you get better soon y/n."
he said, gripping the shield tighter against his arm and walking away from us. i looked up at bucky who had his hand over mine, putting pressure against the wound.
"i guess you were right, i should've stayed home."
i labored.
"but god was that punch worth it."
i said and he laughed a little through a few tears.
"youre stupid sometimes but i love you anyways."
he said and i smiled, wincing as i tried to sit up.
"i love you too buck, now help me stand. we have some people to save."
i said, bracing myself against him as he lifted me off the floor. i stumbled into him and he held me tightly.
"maybe we should get you to the hospital-"
"im fine buck, just help me over there."
he did as told, sam coming to help out.
"you guys go make sure he doesnt hurt anyone else. ill be here when youre done."
sam nodded, moving to leave but pausing when bucky didnt move.
"its okay buck. ill be okay."
i touched his face gently. for a split second i passed my vision to him, to let him know i meant it. when it was over he nodded at me, a small smile on his face.
"dont die before i get back."
i laughed a little as he pulled my hand from his cheek.
"ill be right here, alive and well."
he kissed my forehead before looking to sam and taking off.
"make sure you get him back to me sam!"
i yelled and he held a thumb in the air for me to see as they ran around the corner. i sighed, falling back onto my back with a thud and a loud groan. i felt like i did when i had been shot. i was losing a lot of blood but i didnt want anyone to worry about me anymore. but i knew id get out of this, even if i passed out like i felt i was going to. all was going to be alright in the end. like i told him before he left-
"ill be right here."
