The time has come for the Memento Mori Chapter 1 release!

Chapter 1 (~15,000 words) is now up on itch.io. ⋆˙⟡♡⟡⋆˙

With the prologue, the game is now at about 24,000 words in total!

Aside from advancements to the story, the update features new UI and other cosmetic changes. You need to restart your game. If you play from your prologue save, the game will not work.

OKAY RANT TIME!

Y'all, I have NEVER recommended such sus stuff, let alone FANFICS, but this one deserves it, okay?

I've been staying up until 4am the past 3 nights in a row to read an ongoing Hazbin Hotel fanfiction with 32 chapters and 145,000 words that I have now finished catching up on. To put it plainly, it is an absolute MASTERPIECE. Somehow, the author has perfectly captured how it would feel to form relationships (both platonic and romantic) with the characters and not make it feel like their personalities were manipulated.

I don't usually like stories that use such sensitive trigger tags, but it was recommended to me by a fellow Vox simp and OH MY GOD, IT'S NOT EVEN JUST THE VOX CONTENT THAT I CARE ABOUT ANYMORE, IT'S LITERALLY EVERYTHING ABOUT IT! THE PLOT IS GENUINELY GOOD, AND I WANT TO SEE HOW IT ENDS!

PLEASE, if you're into sus Vox/Readers, SUPER slow-burn Alastor/Readers, or stories with mild Baxter/Reader content on the side, GO READ The Medusa Complex over on Ao3!

I feel like no one talks about how medic is probably the only one who knows what pyro's face looks like under the mask. I mean he is the team's doctor after all, he'd have to know pyro's biology or genetic makeup at least to some extent to be able to heal them properly.

Even if medic hasn't gotten pyro to take their mask off, he's probably collected their dna and can come up with a rough guesstimate off of that alone

I actually only just got a chunk of this WIP done tonight! The main premise of this fic is that Hell attacks the Dreaming, and part of Dream's defenses includes automatically reabsorbing the essence of any killed nightmares and dreams. It has...some side effects.

Here's a quick snippet:

When the last of the demons fall, and the Dreaming is once again safe, Dream collapses onto the floor of the throne room, crying in agony as he tries to soothe the hurt of death for a thousand different entities residing within him. The dreams are loud in their sorrow, and it is so much, so much, too much. Fiddler’s Green is the first to be resurrected, and then Gault. It is all he can manage before Dream is reduced to a sobbing, useless mess. Lucienne holds him throughout the night, whispering words of comfort to Dream, and all that reside within him. It soothes the ache by the tiniest fraction, and he is grateful for her embrace.

Happy Memento Mori Demo Release Day!

With writing being one of my passions, you would think that I would have better words to articulate how excited I am for this demo release, and how grateful I am to everyone who has been nothing but supportive.

One month after creating the Memento Mori intro post, I'm releasing the prologue. I think that's pretty cool.

You can consider this to be Part 1 of the demo, as I anticipate the demo to be all the way up to Chapter 2 or 3.

The prologue sits at about 9,000 words, including all choices and branching.

Reminder that Memento Mori is rated 18+ for violence, gore, explicit language, sexual themes, drug and alcohol use, and other material that may be disturbing to some readers.
