🧡This was an absolute shock for me. I expected to like this book but damn that twist. I came into this book with the idea that this was a half romance half sci-fi. But, I would personally describe this as a sci-fi thriller with a queer romance. This is a YA with what I would describe as a blend of hinted at sex scenes and fade to black. This is what I would consider a medium tier sci-fi aka can be somewhat challenging for some people but the world building isn’t a lot.

🔪The romance was good but at the same time the ending part of the romance wasn’t it for me. I needed more than what we received. To be honest even though the romance was good I would of preferred it to not be so physical based. My only other criticism that I can remember is that I wish we had seen a bit more of untrustworthy behaviour or an outburst towards something after we were showed a certain scene that was recorded.

Choujin X volumes 1 & 2- I couldn’t get into Tokyo Ghoul but this series got me. 4 Stars for volume 1. 4.5 Stars for volume 2.

Inuyasha VizBig volume 1- I can’t believe it’s taken me so long to start reading the manga. This was the first anime I ever watched and I just adore this series so much. 5 Stars.

I'm sad that I couldn't bring myself to write journals lately, because fun stuff happened! But I can't write them now, it's too late and I forget stuff easly. So let's write about today.

I had silly dreams today. First one was about me, my best friend and our friend A at a book store. I was buying Noragami, Hanako and something else and one of our schools PE teachers was working there for some reason?? It was funny. Than we walked out of the store and a boy from my class was walking around the shopping mall eating icecream. He walked up to our geography teacher who happened to be there too and told her that another boy from my class works in America and that he earns 50 dolars a month. My secound dream was about me going back home from school I suppose. I wanted to take a bus to my village but I took a train??? I have NEVER been in a train before. So I sat in the free space in a train, in something that reminds me of a small room, with 4 to 5 different people and the ride had begun. I was looking outside the trains window and I was figures of deers, in different poses and they were looking like real animals, but like, frozen? It made me creep out a little bit. And after some time bizzare things started to happen. Some kind of a weird monster got in the train and we had to fight it. At first everyone froze and were scared to move but I got so scared that I bit the monster. It had multiple heads and I started to bite them off. And so I defeted this creature with help of other people. I think that the monster attack had more stages/phases after this but I woke up soon after so I don't remember much.

When I woke up I've eaten breakfast that my dad did for me and soon after that a mailman came to our house with a package for me. I was very happy because it was my package with Sailor Moon Eternal Edition volume 1. I love Sailor Moon, and it's a very sentimental anime for me. I was happy that it's avaible at my country as a manga again. I started to read it imidiately. I really liked it. I really want to rewatch first 2 seasons and continue on watching Sailor Moon but I'm too busy watching other anime right now. Maybe after I will finish Inuyasha.

I also cleaned around the house today. It's Christmas soon and I had a mess in my room so I had to take care of it. I rearranged my furniture a little bit. I like the way it is now.

I've played minecraft a little bit today too. My best friend made a server with their friends so I was invated to play with them. I wandered around a little bit and I need to start building my house tommorow.

Today was due for my school powerpoint project but I think I'm to tired to do it at night so I will just leave it for tommorow. I feel bad about it but oh well. I hope my teacher won't be mad.

What are your opinions on Ranma 1/2? Which do you like more, the anime or the manga?

I read the manga of Ranma 1/2 some years ago but I've never seen the anime. In fact, the only anime adaptations of Rumiko's works I've seen are Inuyasha, some episodes of Kyoukai no Rinne and now Urusei Yatsura (2022). I think the Urusei Yatsura reboot might actually be my favorite so far 😅 (But maybe that's because I haven't finished reading UY)

Ranma 1/2 is a weird series because I remember thinking it was good but.... I don't remember much about it. I don't think I can name more than 5 characters. I barely remember what happens in the story. It doesn't help that it's very episodic so there isn't an overarching plot beyond "will Ranma and Akane actually get married?". I remember getting really bored around 20 volumes in because the gags were pretty much copy and pasted at that point (the same could be said about Inuyasha but at least Inuyasha has a plot). The characters were fun, but again, not very memorable to me. If it was a shorter series like Maison Ikkoku (15 volumes) I probably would I loved it but it was stretched out for too long. Maybe reading it each week in a magazine back when it was being released was more enjoyable than trying to binge read it like I did.

That being said I think RT's art style peaked during Ranma 1/2 (and until middle of Inuyasha). Her characters are super expressive and cute and I like their designs a lot.

I can't comment on how well the anime adapted the manga obviously since I haven't watched it, but I heard the anime did Akane dirty like they did Kagome is the Inuyasha anime. That's a shame if true because I thought Akane was great!

I heard that the Ranma 1/2 anime was actually very influential and partially helped making anime mainstream outside of Japan, so that's really cool. The manga also sold better than Inuyasha by a couple millions, and I often see it being recommended. So there's clearly a lot to love about the series but personally it isn't one of my favorite from Takahashi!

Three ships that have been on my mind lately are Obi/Shirayuki (Snow White with the Red Hair), Hyoma/Botan (Malevolent Spirits: Mononogatari), and Gin/Rangiku (Bleach).

2. First ship

Goodness, let me think. As a child I remember shipping Ash/Misty (Pokémon) and Mamoru/Usagi (Sailor Moon), but I think the first one I got super invested in was Inuyasha/Kagome (Inuyasha).

A sharp bark from the open window woke Inuyasha from sleep. He blinked open golden eyes to find their bedroom lightening with the first hints of dawn. The barking grew more shrill, pinning his sensitive ears to his head in annoyance as he groped for his phone on the nightstand, careful not to jostle the woman at his side. Inuyasha glanced at the screen and almost threw the fucking thing at the wall. Six in the morning! On a Saturday! Their neighbors had to be fuckin joking with this shit.

He rolled away from the window and wrapped an arm around Kagome’s waist.

The persistent bark continued, making his brow twitch in time with it. Beneath him, his girlfriend lifted her shoulder and jostled him in a silent demand.

Uh-uh, not happening.

He nuzzled deeper into her neck, inhaling the scent of spring rain and orange blossoms.

“Inuyasha,” she moaned as the barking continued.

He grunted in response, refusing to leave his place in the bed.

Kagome jiggled her body up and down. “Come on, Inu, close the window. It's on your side.”

“So,” he mumbled into her skin. “I did it last time.”

She groaned and rolled over, slipping her fingers into his hair while the barking reached a new volume. “Please, Inuyasha. I don’t wanna get out of bed. It’s chilly.”

“So, it’s fine if I’m cold?”

“You won’t get cold,” she said, kissing along his jaw. “You’re my big strong hanyou. You’re not affected by temperatures like this poor little human, remember?”

Inuyasha moaned when her lips found a sensitive spot, arms tightening around her waist. He rocked his hips against belly. “Kagome.”

“Please, Inu. I’ll make it worth your while.”

He gave an exaggerated sigh of displeasure and threw his legs over the side of the bed. Inuyasha rolled the stiffness out of his shoulder while Kagome’s hands roamed across his back. Inuyasha looked behind him and cupped her cheek, pulling her in for a lingering kiss.

The barking shifted to a piercing howl.

Kagome broke into a fit of giggles mid-kiss and fell back to the sheets with her dark hair splayed around her.

Inuyasha growled under his breath and stood, stomping the few steps to the window before slamming it closed.

The howling became more muted and he nodded, turning back to the bed when a cracking noise brought him up short. Inuyasha looked back in time to watch spiderwebs fork across the glass surface before they fell to the floor with a crash. The howling resumed its deafening volume and Kagome raised up on her elbows, mouth hung open in shock that didn’t last long.

Her eyes narrowed on him, dark brows twitching with irritation. “INUYASHA!”

OMG, WE'RE TRENDING! It's been a while 😮 Inuyasha Moroha reunion got us talking 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Inuyasha and Kagome back on screen must have also helped, speaking of, anyone else feeling nice to see them, I feel it's been so long since we properly saw them and now there's also Moroha so it's just such a sweet family picture 🥺❤️😭

OMG, OMG, OMG! IT HAPPENED! I swear I thought that's how Yashahime s going to end, but the REUNION happened earlier and it's still going on and I'm in tears because Moroha finally met her parents or for now at least one of them and look how happy they are too see each other and slightly awkward but so happy OMG 😭😭😭❤️❤️❤️ I'm so glad they didn't mess up with the Moroha Kagome reunion it was so heartwarming and the InuKag theme started playing and FEEEEEELS 😭❤️🥺

15. Rec a fic you wrote or posted in 2023

Since most of my Inuyasha fics were posted in 2023, I’m going to pick a non-Inukag one: “A Most Peculiar Family”. I greatly enjoy writing the family dynamics between Toga, Inukimi, Izayoi, and their boys. We know so little about them in canon and how the three parents interacted with each other that it’s so much fun to play around with them.

22. Share an excerpt from your favorite scene.

I have a couple, but I have to go with Miroku showing up to pick up his cousin Kagome in the most ridiculous prom suit in “The Prom Conundrum”

Kagome’s jaw dropped as she stared at Miroku. This had to be a nightmare and a bad joke, all wrapped in a prom suit. An utterly hideous prom suit right out of some tacky 80s movie. And she would have to walk next to that.

Her dear cousin was wearing a powder-blue tux—cummerbund, bowtie, and ruffled tuxedo shirt included—that made him stick out like a sore thumb and would no doubt make him the butt of every joke.

And she was his escort. Why did the universe have it out for her? Who did she piss off in a past life to be punished in this one in such a way?

“You're joking, right? Right?!” She tried and failed to control her tone and volume; Miroku gave her a sheepish smile, and she lost it. “What the heck is that?! You look like you just hopped off great-aunt Kikyo's wedding cake! You remember the pictures, right?! Those cake toppers were ridiculous!” She gestured wildly with her hand, taking in the fashion tragedy in front of her.

25. What did you use to write? (e.g. writing programs, paper & pen, etc.)

I use Google Docs because it automatically saves into Google Drive and it has a great grammar/spelling checker (plus I use Grammarly on top of that. I used to use Microsoft Word long ago, but the autosave failed me a lot and lost fics in the past.

30. What’s something that you want to write in 2024?

I certainly would like to finish my 3 current WIPs (2 Inukag, 1 kid Inu and soon-to-be adopted mom), but there are a couple of ideas I’d like to publish. One is already in the process of being written (A crossover of Inuyasha and Rurouni Kenshin), and the other is only in the stage of notes taking and plotting (A canon divergence where after 5 years the well opens for Inuyasha and he crosses to her side one last time. I honestly love the idea of him ending in the future, but most fics have him go through 500 years until finally meeting her and that scenario is a slippery slope for me).
