Flowers | The Series | Chapter Ten | Afternoon Tea

Summary | Queen Rhaenrya invites you to have tea with her but your mind is still running wild. the conversations you have today end up being more important to you than you thought.

‘what is happening?’ you think to yourself a you trail a couple of paces behind the queen.

we're you in trouble? she seems far too happy for you to be in trouble. Maybe she finds delight in punishing people? no she does not seem like the type.

Your mind races as the two of you end up in a private room to where you see a gorgeous arrangement of snacks and a fresh hot pot of tea waiting.

“Sit sit please.”

You two take a seat and a servant rushes over to pour your cups. You sit up straight and tall, your mothers words ringing in the back of your head.

“Relax please i am not here to interogate you.”

You smile but dont relax, what if she was testing you, “Of course my queen.”

A moment of silence passes between the two of you as you take a sip of tea. Its rich, must be one of the finest drinks you'll ever put in your mouth.

“So its lady y/n is it?”

“Yes my queen.”

“And you are from the reach?”

“Yes my lady, the soil lands queen.”

She hums with a thought look, “Yes the soil lands, ive never been myself but i've heard it's gorgeous there.”

You smile as you think of your home. “It is my queen. The fields are always full of flowers, though it does rain often but it is beneficial since it leads to easier watering-” You pause as you notice yourself trailing off.

“my apologies my queen.”

she laughs with a fond look, “No no please continue.”

And you two talk for awhile. She continued to ask more and more about your home life to which you are more than happy to answer. Though you try your best today’s conversation with joffery lingers in your mind. It must be showing on your face because she ends up questioning you.

“May i ask you something?”

You tikd your head confused why she would ask as she had been asking you questions this whole time.

“of course my queen?”

“is something bothering you? you seem troubled.”

Would it be wrong of you to admit your troubles to her? You shouldn't. But you cant lie to her what are you supposed to say then? Youre quiet for a moment.

“do you believe one can truly be happy in a loveless marriage?”

She seems taken aback by the question, she opens and closes her mouth like a fish for a moment before she composes herself.

“why do you ask?”

You feel embarrassed as you look down at your hands, “i fear i may find myself in one, i simply wanted to ask i apologize-”

“theres no need too.” she soo’s away the servant in the room who gives her an odd look before leaving.

Rhaenrya readjusted herself and gulps. She looks as though she is thinking over something. “For starters, i do truly hope you shall never find yourself in such a position.”

She frowns slightly, “i do not believe it is possible.” She looks you dead in the eyes, “Even if you two respect and care for each other there will always be that mourning for what you cant have. There will always be that what if, that lingering desire for more. It will never make you truly happy.”

You sigh. Thats not the answer you wanted. But maybe it was the answer you needed to hear. You open your mouth to thank her but the door opens. “apologies for interrupting ladies but you are needed my queen.”

You quicker stand and bow, king consort daemon had a smirk on his face as he greeted you. “I take it you are the infamous lady dunn?”

“Yes my king.”

Rhaenyra moves to stand by his side and smiles at you.

“This was lovely lady y/n. We should do this again.”

You bow, “I thank you for your time my queen. I would be honored.”

They walk to the exit but she turns to you before they walk out, “You should remember what i told you.”

The two walk out, you can almost hear daemon ask what she was talking about to which she doesn't reply.

You're left feeling more confused than you were before. You walk out of the room and roam through the halls. What were you going to do?

Theres only one person who comes to mind who can help you make senses of all this and youre praying hes there waiting for you.

As soon as you open your door you see your father there waiting for you.

He smiles and stands from his place on your bed, “i havent seen you all day, haven't forgotten about your old man just yet have you?”

His smile drops slightly at the look on your face, “Whats wrong pumpkin?”

You move towards him and wrap your arms around him. You sigh as his warmth consumes you. “Take all the time you need pumpkin, your old man will be right here.”

“Joffery has asked me to enter a courtship with him.”

He tenses. “Oh.” He coughs and you pull away from him with a confused look.

“Thats great no?”

He’s looking away from you will a far away look, like he has too much on his mind.

“You do not seem happy father.”

“Of course I am sweet.”

You sigh and sit on the bed, he follows quickly after you and presents you with a fake smile.

“You are the one who seems unhappy my sweet what is it?”

You lean against his shoulder.

“Do you promise not to tell.”

“I promise.”

“He does not find comfort in women.”

You look at him to see his reaction. Your father closes his eyes and sighs.

“you..” You trail off as you watch your father closely, “you do not seem shocked.”

He finally at you with a sad look, you frown and open your mouth to question him but the door to your room opens.

The two of you turn in shock to your mother who closed the door behind her.

“you would not believe the delusion these women live in. That woman had basically called me a peasant how dare she-”

She freezes at the sight of the two of you.

“What happened?”

She and your father share a look. She tenses and your father stands, “give us a moment.”

The two huddle together and seem to be having an argument. Theyre talking too low so you can't her them. You watch them with confusion, what could they be talking about? You almost regret bringing this up.

They both turn to you and your mother rushes to sit next to your and grabs your arm.

“We have something to tell you sweetheart.”

Your father moves over to your other side and sits down.

“What's happening?”

They look at each other once more before your father places his hand ontop of yours making you face him.

“Me and your mother were best friends as children. We were never apart. One day when we were older your mother had confessed her love for me… but…..”

You place your other hand on top of his and squeeze it, “But what?”

“I did not love her like she loved me. And i still do not.”

You gasp in shock. Your parents were the epitome of love to you. They never showed affection like some couples did but they were were so loving with each other. Theyre faces would light up when they see each other. They would have these smiles on their faces that they would show no other. What could they possibly mean?

“What?”

“i do not find love in women either.”

You feel like your head is about to explode. “What?”

“I found out when i was young, actually only a couple days before your mother had confessed to me. I love her but not like a man loves a women. Not like a man should love his wife. She is my best friend. Thats all.”

Your mother nods, “I understood, i did take awhile. He actually had accepted my confession and pretend for a good while but i found him ot quickly. He had been crying like a baby when i confronted him,”

she laughed and he pouted at her, “There was no need to point that out.”

You watch in wonder as the two laugh at each other and playfully shove each other lightly.

“Im sorry you felt like you couldn't share this sooner with me father.”

His smile dropped and he put his hands on your shoulders, “do not blame yourself pumpkin. I am a coward, a coward who wants his daughter to see the best in me.”

“The best of you is the real you father.”

“Youre gonna make an old man cry youre a monster.”

You hit him as he brings a hand up to wipe a tear from his eye.

Your mother grabs your attention and gives you his lecture look, “I wish i could tell you you could end up like us but many are not as luck.”

You fall back onto the bed as your mind is racing.

The queens earlier conversation played in your wmind. She claimed there could be no love in a loveless marriage but you can clearly see your parents were happy. They were happy why couldn't you be?

“You alright sweetheart?”

you parents had laid down at your side, your mother placed a hand on your cheek as you smiled at her.

“I just have a lot on my mind.”

You move to face the ceiling, “I love you guys.”

“we love you more.”

A sharp knock interrupts the sweet moment between you three. Your father shoots up and gives you two confused looks to which your mother shrugs and urgers him to open it.

Who could possibly be here right now?

Your father opens the door and is taken aback.

“Prince Jacaerys?”

My Favorite Comics of 2023

Sometimes I think I should review all the comics I read as I read them. Then I realize I read like...40 comics a month and decide to not do that. But I figured I could at least round up my favorite books of 2023!

So as not to bury the lede...

My Favorite Comic of 2023: Green Arrow

Was there ever any question? All I have ever wanted for like 20 years at this point is Arrowfamily shenanigans, and this book has been all about reassembling the gang and letting them romp through the DC universe. This is an Ollie who is overflowing with love and bad ideas, and that's perfect. Every character and relationship has gotten a chance to shine so far, and I can't wait until they bring the girls in. I especially love how clear it is that Roy is Williamson and Izaakse's favorite. ME TOO, GUYS, ME TOO. The fact that this is now an ongoing instead of a limited series is the best gift DC could have given me.

The rest of my faves...

Alan Scott: The Green Lantern: I did not expect to be as moved by this book as I am. The overall plot is a bit hard to follow, but that's not really the point of the comic. What blows me away every issue is how unflinching and occasionally brutal the book is in its portrayal of 1940s-era homophobia, including Alan's internalized self-hatred, and yet how simultaneously incredibly kind the book is. The love and validation, especially in #2 and #3, is so generous and beautiful. Also, it's the best and most beautiful I've ever see Cian Tormey's art look - he gives everything such a hazy, heartbreaking softness here. Please read this book.

Batman/Superman: World's Finest: This continues to be one of the most enjoyable books DC is putting out right now. Mora is one of those artists, like Doc Shaner, who draws the DC universe exactly 100% the way it looks in my hindbrain, and Waid is absolutely in his sweet spot of classic heroes, Silver Age lore, and extremely comic book-y adventure. Plus, Tamra Bonvillain is doing that thing she does with colors that taps directly into the happiness center of my brain - they are so rich and sunny and joyful.

Birds of Prey: I love everything Kelly Thompson writes and I'm so glad we finally have her at DC. She is the absolute perfect writer for this book, too - she gives such good superheroine. The banter! The action! The way she mixes and matches her cast in such fun combinations! Leonardo Romero's layouts are so kinetic and fun, and Jordie Bellaire's colors, YOU GUYS, JORDIE BELLAIRE'S FUNKY SEVENTIES COLORS! I can hear the soundtrack of this book. Love love love.

The Flash: To be clear, I mean the Jeremy Adams run that ended earlier this year with #800. I will forever be salty that DC canceled this delightful book, which was all of the action and humor and heart and love of continuity that I crave in comics, in favor of the so far completely mid Spurrier series. RIP Adams run, you were too good for this world.

Fire & Ice: Welcome to Smallville: This book got off to a slightly slow start, in my opinion, but every issue just gets better and better. It is so funny, and I want Natacha Bustos to design every outfit I ever wear for the rest of my life. Plus, Tamra Bonvillain is doing the color thing here, too! I want to live in her world.

Poison Ivy: I trust G. Willow Wilson with my life. This is such a good, complex, nuanced take on Ivy. (Also messy and poly and queer.) I have no idea where this story is going but I'm on this ride 'til the end.

And finally...

Favorite Backlist Title: Starman (1994): You guys. YOU GUYS. I mainlined all 80 issues of this series this year at an absolutely blistering pace because I did not want to stop reading it for even a single second. It's everything I love about comics: truly serialized storytelling with a huge cast and lots of intertwining subplots, tons of twists and foreshadowing that pay off in immensely satisfying ways, a deep dive into continuity that's still accessible to people who know almost nothing about Starman (me), a love letter to a fictionopolis, and one funky little dude trying his best at the center of it. I am BEGGING you to read Starman. Please.

sometimes i wonder if mike truly thought the painting was commissioned by el because, like, it contradicts with how mike has seen el behave and yet he doesn’t question it?

i mean, the day after rink-oh-mania we get a scene between mike and el where mike wants to talk about what happened and el doesn’t want to. mike says he can understand her because he’s been a victim of bullying his entire life so he doesn’t understand why el lied and el says that no he doesn’t understand. she then goes to explain, clearly still in distress and hurting, that she doesn’t belong anywhere, she is different and people looked at her as if she was a monster and mike too had also looked at her that way. from this we clearly understand they are not in the same page. and then when el gets taken by the police, el barely looks at mike when he tells her he will fix this. not only that, but right after rink-oh-mania mike pulled that asshole move when he said “she didn’t look fine”, which only solidifies that mike did make el feel like a monster and a mistake for what she had done.

but then, when will delivers that beautiful monologue, we get him telling mike that “el” is different and when you are different you feel like a mistake, but that mike doesn’t make “her” (him) feel like a mistake at all, that mike makes “el” (will) feel “she” (he) is better for being different, and that gives “her” (him) the courage to fight on.

so, did mike really not figure out what will was saying? because mike heard el saying to him that he had looked at her as if she was a monster. and then, when el was taken by the cops, she went willingly and looked defeated, not like she was fighting on. mike witnessed all of this and mike is not a dumb character. granted, his internal homophobia towards himself could play a part in this, but will’s words are still a big contradiction with el’s actions, so how could mike not see right through will’s monologue and understand those words came from will? is he really blinded because he doesn’t believe will could say those words and meant them by himself? or is he simply choosing to believe el did say all those things because then el still needs him and that’s the reassurance mike is asking for?

what if mike did see through will but then will pushed mike to say i love you to el and now mike is confused as how to feel and how will and el both feel about him?

M: mentions of sex, a pinch of angst, internalized homophobia, romance prevails

As their sweat cooled, Draco curled on his side, knees tucked high, and tugged the blanket over his hips. His eyes shut on a satisfied sigh.

"I've never made love before.”

He confessed it quietly to the night air. Harry had never seen him so drunk with pleasure. He rubbed his cheek against the pillowcase as if it was woven from the finest silk. It caught his hair, a gossamer mess.

Harry lay on his back and scratched his stomach. He watched Draco watch him. How he lazily traced his gaze down past his navel, his hand, towards his nudity. He didn't mind.

He thought of the romantic films his aunt watched. Making love happened there, amidst lace and weddings.

He thought of his cousin’s gang of friends hurling words at Harry, and each other. Words punctuated with spitting and fists. Making love never entered the picture.

"I don't think what we do is called—that."

Draco head rose from its burrowed comfort. His nose wrinkled.

“Why not?”

"I only meant that I don’t know that we can—if that's what it's called."

Draco relaxed and made a considering hum. Harry turned to face him. He hadn’t meant to ruin the moment. He reached out and brushed the straw-coloured strands fallen over his cheek behind his ear. They lay like that a while, knuckles to the sheets, fingers playing lazily. Harry watched as sleep claimed Draco’s slowing blinks and held his eyelids shut. His fingers curled softly towards his palms.

"If that wasn't making love,” he murmured sleepily into his pillow, “I don't know what is."

All right the English major in me is coming out to bat, and I can hold it in no longer because my whole darn Honors thesis is on Shakespeare.

So while acknowledging that this is all speculation bc we can't actually know unless Tom and Owen tell us what's up, here's my two cents on the weird Two Gentlemen of Verona thing Tom and Owen evidently have going on.

First of all, y'all should know that it's Hella Weird that this is the play that Owen can quote the first line of. And the reason is that it's Shakespeare's literal worst play. Like not even kidding it's so bad. It's an important play for Shakespeare scholars bc it's his first play, and in it you can see the precursors to his later, much better works like Romeo and Juliet. A sandbox of sorts. But especially in comparison to the rest of his work, it's Really Bad. And because of this, it's not very well known at all, and my Shakespeare professor actively recommended that we not read it for our optional comedy to study.

Let me break it down for y'all.

Basic plot is you've got Valentine and Proteus who have a very homoerotic relationship (if you recall Owen quoting the first line, it's literally Valentine saying "cease to persuade, loving Proteus") but one which is Toxic As Hell, for which Proteus is at fault, stemming from some intense internalized homophobia imo. Valentine leaves Verona, inviting Proteus to come with him, but Proteus is too busy with his fiancée Julia and says no. So off Valentine goes, and he meets the beautiful Silvia and falls in love with her instantly, as you do, but her dad doesn't like it much. Proteus decides he misses his Bro and ditches Julia to go after him. Upon finding Valentine with Silvia, he gets pissed and decides he wants Silvia for himself (tho you could argue this is out of internalized homophobia fueled jealousy) and purposefully gets Silvia's dad to banish Valentine. Sucks to be Proteus tho bc Silvia is Not into him and says as much to a disguised Julia who's followed her deadbeat fiancé and found him with this other girl. Silvia loves Valentine tho so she goes off with Proteus and disguised Julia to go find him where he was banished. Proteus doesn't like this tho and right before they find Valentine, he tries to force himself on her. Thankfully he's stopped by Valentine, but there's a really weird line where Valentine either says "whatever if you want her that bad take her" or "all the love I have for her is yours" depending on how you read it. Either way, it's not great bc it glosses over the whole non-con issue from like 2 minutes ago, Julia also reveals herself and then they go "oh yay we're all here now let's get married" and then Valentine ends up with Silvia and Proteus ends up with Julia.

And like, people have mentioned before that you could technically draw a parallel with Sylvie and Silvia bc their names are similar, and that it's kinda like Loki and Mobius bc Valentine leaves Proteus to go after Silvia, and there's the homoerotic implications for Lokius, but really that's where the similarities stop, and comparing Mobius to Proteus is just an insult to Mobius' character tbh.

If we're gonna draw Shakespeare parallels, we could make a much more compelling argument with Twelfth Night (the m/f twin connection is right there) or even Hamlet or Much Ado About Nothing than with Two Gentlemen, so it doesn't make much sense for Tom and Owen to have this inside joke directly related to the Loki series.

And not only is the play deeply problematic as I've illustrated above, it's also poorly written. It's a bad play y'all. That's why nobody knows it. So there is No Way that of all the Shakespeare plays to want to do, Owen Wilson, who has himself said that he has no real familiarity with the Bard other than a college Shakespeare class, would pick Two Gentlemen as his dream Shakespeare production. It makes exactly zero sense whatsoever. (He'd be much, much more suited for a role like Benedick in Much Ado imo)

We do know, however, that Owen is excellent at improvising and likes joking around and messing with people. So I imagine that rather than being a secret lokius joke, it came into being by way of an interaction along these lines:

Tom: So have you ever played Hamlet?

Owen, shook and kinda laughing: Nah, it's not really my typecast so I've never had the opportunity.

Tom, wanting to be encouraging: Aw I'm sure you'd be great in the role! Though I am curious, if you were to be in any Shakespeare play, what would it be?

Owen, wracking his brain for buried play titles from college like thirty years ago: uhhh Two Gentlemen of Verona, maybe???????

Tom, a Shakespeare nerd who knows the play, suddenly Very concerned but polite: oh,,,, is that so?

Owen, noticing the confusion but deciding it'll be funnier to roll with it: yeah I think it's a really compelling story. One of Shakespeare's finest works if you ask me.

Tom, visibly shaking and in a cold sweat: r-really?,,,??,

Owen, busting up laughing: sskdjskksk no not at all! I know like nothing about Shakespeare, cmon. I was Lightning McQueen! I just vaguely remember reading that play in college.

Tom, sighing in relief: oh thank God I was so worried. That's the worst one!

Owen, amused: is it?

Tom, going into professor mode: well you see--

And so it probably became like a "I'm pretending to be pretentious and cultured" sort of inside joke that played a part in their bonding as coworkers and snuck its way into the documentary bc they thought it'd be funny, and they were right. Tbh the way they talked about it sounded a lot like my and my friends riffing on plays in my Shakespeare class, so I'm inclined to believe that that's what they're doing here.

lesbian kyoru thoughts

because i’ve gotta start living up to my url sometime. so consider:

kyo. yes, my lesbian fave. and it’s just so easy to read kyo as a lesbian while changing very little about the story. have we considered how inherently queer the “monster inside you trope” is? and especially because kyo’s arc in canon is largely about learning self-acceptance, forgiveness, and self-love through falling in love with tohru, i think the true form arc serves as an excellent allegory for kyo coming to terms with her sexuality, since in both cases it’s all about tohru staying by kyo’s side unconditionally, in spite of things that kyo views as “monstrous” about herself. it’s the monster lesbian story i want please give it to me!!!!!

for this AU, i’d have kyo already out as a lesbian at the beginning of the story, in sort of an open secret way. the sohmas definitely know that kyo is a lesbian, and it’s looked down upon by the sohma clan. the notable exception would be tohru, who doesn’t know that kyo is a lesbian—and same with true form, kyo does not want tohru to find out that she’s a lesbian because she thinks that, if tohru sees this part of her that she has no control over, it will ruin everything and completely disgust tohru

along with just fitting kyo’s overwhelming lesbian vibes, i think this creates a really good dichotomy between yuki, who is the golden boy of the family and deeply closeted, and kyo, very aggressively not in the closet and the black sheep/outcast of the family. wlw mlm hostility at its finest

and now we have tohru. while kyo is already out as a lesbian, tohru is deeply closeted, deeply unaware that she’s closeted, and also just. deeply repressing that she is a lesbian djjdjdjdjdkdj. i really like having this contrast in tohru and kyo’s experiences with coming out and realizing their sexualities because i think it fits their different personalities + upbringings, and also it just would be nice to have more than one Coming Out Narrative in a single piece of media. tohru is that girl in high school who absolutely knows what being gay means, grew up around queer people (kyoko’s girl gang hello…..), her entire friend group is made up of queer people—but she’s still like no i’m just the token straight friend in the group :) until…..lmfao

this mirrors tohru’s canon arc really well because she struggles so much with repression, particularly with repressing what she considers as “ugly” parts of herself, as well as her true feelings for kyo a lot. you can also draw a really neat parallel in the way that tohru accepts kyo’s true form in a very loving, non-judgemental manner, but it’s a lot harder to accept her own “ugly” qualities. i think that makes such a perfect connection to like, she’s obviously not homophobic and accepts that kyo is a lesbian no problem! but then when she falls in love with kyo, it’s a lot harder for tohru to accept that she is also gay because of intense internalized homophobia that she’s directing at herself

also bringing up our favorite gay yuki again, something that would be super fascinating in this is AU would be how yuki still envies how kyo embodies a lot of hyper-masculine, boyish traits, which yuki feels he can’t present in the same way. in this AU, there’s another layer to yuki’s jealousy though because kyo is a girl doing that. so yuki almost resents that kyo can pull that off and innately have those qualities come so easily to her (like being more brash and confident, getting along with groups, being more typically aggressive and “boyish”), when yuki is the one who is male and feels like those traditional masculine behavior expectations should come more easily to him

this would also tie really nicely into how yuki loves tohru like a mother, where it adds another layer to kyo seeing tohru in a way that yuki can't. not only does yuki agonize over how he doesn’t love tohru romantically when heteronormativity makes him feel like he should—now, you also have kyo being able to see tohru “the way a man sees a woman” when kyo is a woman but yuki is a man, adding even more to yuki’s big bad comphet struggle

this just adds so much to yuki and kyo’s already very complicated dynamic, because now you have yuki’s internalized homophobia making him hate himself and directing that at kyo, scapegoating her as causing all of their problems with akito and the sohma clan by being out herself. meanwhile, kyo would struggle even more with eventually acknowledging that yuki isn’t the perfect, straight sohma prince that she views him as, and that hating yuki won’t fix her internalized self-hatred. all of this makes even more prominent that underlying theme of “you have everything i have ever wanted when you don’t deserve it, and i hate you but why can i not be more like you.” again, mlm wlw hostility at its finest

yes, yuki and kyo did hate-makeout once. yes, it did confirm for both of them that they are in fact homosexuals

one last thought: i know a huge facet of canon is that people of the opposite sex hugging triggers the zodiacs’ animal transformations, which is heteronormative lol. but honestly, i would keep the curse being activated by opposite sex hugs even in this AU—because i think it would be super interesting to explore how girls touching each other is a lot more socially accepted as “platonic” even when it is definitely not platonic lmao. but on the flip side of that, you can also then explore the Lesbian Experience of feeling like you’re evil and weird for thinking a girl is pretty and wanting to hold her hand, and therefore never so much as looking at a girl no matter what Ever

it’s already iconic how takaya accidentally Invoked Gay in canon by making kakeru the only friend of yuki’s that he can experience touch and physical affection from because they’re both male.....that’s gay shit.....but there are SO MANY LAYERS when you add lesbian kyoru to the mix. miss deeply closeted tohru is falling hard for kyo and slowly testing the waters with touch—brushing up against kyo, tapping on her shoulder, holding her hand….because they’re both girls and just friends right? it doesn’t mean anything because tohru is straight right? LMFAO meanwhile kyo is convinced that her crush on tohru is absolutely evil, and even though touching her wouldn’t trigger kyo’s transformation, it still terrifies her way more than touching a guy ever will

it just would be such a power move, in a story where opposite sex hugs are a magical taboo, to have your main lesbian couple not dealing with any problems because of the magical taboo that doesn’t apply to them—but because of the much more understated taboo of their queerness, coming from internalized homophobia and fears of “transforming” into something inhuman and monstrous if they ever gave into their true feelings!!!! i just!!!!! ahhhhhh LESBIANS!!!!!!

Wizards Hearts Smut Recs: Dub Con

Wizards Hearts was a four-month-long Drarry reading fest. Players were given a playing deck of 52 tropes, and were asked to find 52 different fics to read and comment on to fill their decks. i’m just gonna. dump my rymin fic ideas here that i’ve started writing but haven’t finished because i have 0 motivation

FIRST ONE:

coming out. so like. min-gi is panicking and suddenly blurts out “i think i might be gay” and ryan’s like “oh. ok”

min’s just “oh fuck oh fuck oh fuck” while ryan tries to comfort him because the INTERNALIZED HOMOPHOBIA IS STRONG. eventually min is calming down and ryan says “yeah uh. i’m bi so like. it’s fine dude” and they talk about it. asking stuff like “how long have you known” and all that jazz. eventually min sighs and keeps asking “but are you sure you’re ok with me??” and you know the drill if you’ve ever read a rymin angst fic. hurt/comfort at its finest

SECOND:

ok this one is just really self indulgent because i love love love nd ryan and every time he stims i cry /pos

min-gi reflecting on ryan’s stims. how he always moves his hands, how he jumps up and down, how he acts when he gets super excited. then him thinking about how passionate ryan gets when talking about music and guitar, how he can talk for hours about it and never get bored. min just sits there in awe as he rambles on and on, until they get tired and fall asleep.

but min also thinks about how sometimes ryan just gets too overwhelmed with stuff (i saw an amazing thread on twitter about ryan during the last few episodes of b4 and i cant stop thinking about it skfghh). sometimes he gets unusually quiet and at one point he will crack and break down. min gets worried for him. it isn’t often this happens, but it does happen every once and a while. especially when they were younger, with school being kinda hard for ryan (and this is where i start projecting uh oh). it isn’t that he gets horrible grades, it’s just. hard. he yearns to get out of the classroom and sometimes tries to skip school. the only times he didn’t feel miserable were when he was with min n stuff

THIRD:

ok ok this one is such a drastic change from the last kinda angsty one. uh it’s just min-gi waking up and ryan is directly on top of him and he just kinda. lies there. honestly kinda uncomfortable but ryan is sound asleep and he doesn’t want to wake him. i think they’re in that phase where they aren’t dating,,but they’re definitely dating, yknow?

AND FINALLY*:

haha back to the angst. yknow how i was saying ryan had a tough time in school? WELL. this idea is just a huge vent honestly. i’ve already written something a lot like this for a different comfort character, but guess who went through a ’holy shit i hate school so much i am in pain’ phase again?? so of course i had to project on ryan.

this takes place the week between the battle of the bands and graduation. there’s one last test, and ryan isn’t able to focus on studying. his thoughts keep drifting to min. maybe he could call him? oh, wait. yeah, nvm. he’s just sad. and very confused. min would always help ryan in their classes, but within 24 hours, everything has changed. and it’s painful.

idk where this would fit in the story, but i also imagine that after min-gi bailing on the battle of the bands, ryan goes through one of these break downs. he just can’t handle all those emotions.
