Can I ask where u usually get your plushy guys? They’re super cute!
If it’s like a local store u don’t need to say but like if it’s an online store, can u drop some recommendations? (/nf)
funny enough, i get them at the drugstore when i go to get my testosterone injection 😅 however! both Finnegan & my sugar glider are WWF brand (World Wildlife Fund) and Yam is Wild Republic. Dune (my silver fox) is from the Douglas brand!
WWF is definitely my favourite affordable realistic plush brand, plus they support a great cause

I had a question about T injections under the cut.
I'm back on T after being off of it for two years and forgot how itchy the injection site can be. Does anyone else deal with this? How can I remedy it? Benadryl is great but only at night, because it makes me drowsy. And will every injection be like this? I can't remember but it's been itchy after every injection so far. And it's a DEEP itch, given that it's intramuscular, so it's extra annoying.

would it be possible to get a positivity post for transmascs who were forced to stop tesosterone, whether it was for mental health or family or insurance/money , and still being super dysphoric off T? i was on patches and gel for 1.5 years on and off and i hate to quit because i got super super unstable. i know id benefit and not be as Bad if i were on weekly T shots, but my parents outright refuse and would k!ll me for injecting myself w anythinf :( thank u soo much
im really sorry to hear you had that experience, sometimes HRT can be started during a period of your life where you're not quite ready for the emotional changes it can bring. hormones affect our mental health way more than we realize and it's okay that you were affected by it for a while and had to stop. i'm sorry that that happened, though and i'm sorry that you're not in an environment where it's safe for you to use your medication like you'd like
i hope you feel better soon, i'm sorry to hear you are going through this right now, best of luck getting bad on your medication and taking things into your own hands when ever possible. take care of yourself. stay safe.

Im gonna be entirely real with you guys when I started testerone I kind of thought the "Your skin gets Rougher" thing was bullshit and then like a month after I switched to needles and things started happening faster injecting got significantly harder as my skin has gotten hard and difficult to pierce much like a lizards hide and I am very mad about it actually

Hey y’all! Weird question time!  Can getting an injection that includes something you have a food allergy to* make you more sensitized/reactive to that thing, or to your allergies in general, for a while afterwards? I’m allergic to acetic acid, and there’s acetic acid in the Moderna vaccine (and booster). I still got the vaccine (and boosters), even though I had an allergic reaction every time**, but some things with tiny amounts of acetic acid I used to be able to eat were an issue for a while after each shot*** Oh wait side note: same question but for taking the thing you are allergic to as in inactive ingredient in pill form (found out the hard way that some inactive ingredients in pills are made from acetic acid! still trying to figure out if that’s the thing I was allergic to in that pill, or if I’m just separately allergic to one of the inactive ingredients in it) *like, not those desensitization shot things allergists can do, but as an inactive ingredient in a different thing **it was kind of a “better the devil you know” situation. The allergic reaction I had to the Moderna one was unpleasant but handleable. I have no idea if I’m allergic to the Pfizer one, or how bad the reaction would be ***generally not a good idea to eat a food you know you’re allergic to, but I’m on a lot of antihistamines and sometimes you just want refried beans in your burritos even though you know vinegar is on the ingredients list. It’s the last ingredient on the list, and vinegar is only like less than 10% acetic acid, so I can usually tolerate it just fine

I got a toradol shot today because it’s day 14 of ever present low grade migraine and my arm hurts in that really sore way IM injections can be, I’m really drowsy and vaguely dizzy (common side effect for me) and just. So tired of being in constant pain, even if its low grade this time. Really hoping this breaks this headache 🤞 so tired of functioning with chronic pain. The RN today who gave me the shot was new and was like “Damn it’s been *fourteen* days?!” And I just kind of smiled weakly at her like yeah. It’s been worse than that before ma’am please just jab the needle in my arm. Then my PCP dropped in and checked on me and was the sweetest. Gently reminded me that yes this fucking sucks, but we’ve gotten my migraines so far down in frequency and intensity since starting the topamax a couple months ago so. We’re getting somewhere just. Gotta keep pushing through.

I have a lot of chronic joint pains, due to Undiagnosed Bad Joints Syndrome. At the moment, gold and silver medals for the worst joint awards go to: hip (the baddest) and other hip (the wannabe).
Since a few weeks after starting T, my hips have gotten notably worse, with no other factor I could think of to explain it. I got worried. I spent the next several months continuing to be vaguely worried. Was it some sort of heretofore unknown side effect of testosterone injections? Would I have to go to the doctor about this and maybe get taken off HRT indefinitely? Could the UDBJS be catastrophically interacting with my hormones, causing all the connective tissue in my body to unravel like a cheap sweater?
Just as mysteriously, a couple weeks ago the pain in my hip joints started to ease up. (Partly because the weather warmed up and all my joints liked that.)
The other day I finally realized there's a much simpler explanation for why my hip joints were struggling. I was thinking, "man, I should start lifting weights! That would be a good way to exercise and keep up with the unreasonable speed at which the Niblet is growing."
And then it hit me. I've gained over 30 pounds since starting T. Ergo... my frickin legs are heavier.
🤦

Helloo, could you explain the diffrent types of testosterone like as in androgel, sustanon, all that stuff. I'm thinking of going on sustanon but I don't see quite alot of info except for cis guys using it for bulking and im afraid it's not quite a good comparison for ftms
i am not familiar with sustanon, so i will have to do some research and return to you at a later time, as well as see if any other anons or anyone in the comments can help for the time being. also i typically tend to recommend the subreddit community r/ftm, they are great for asking questions about different forms of T since so many guys use it =)
i have personal experience with androgel, and injectable testosterone cypionate. i used injectable T subcutaneous, meaning I injected into fat/skin tissue, and not intramuscular/into muscle tissue, due to my intersex condition and natural testosterone levels. I'm not sure how commonly this method is prescribed to people, but I have always been instructed to do it this way, as I've been told it will lead to less prominent up-and-down spikes and fluctuations of hormone levels. I'm not a professional though so I can't verify as to whether or not this was just that one professional's advice, or if that's 100% accurate.
again, for me as an intersex person, I don't know how applicable that is to perisex trans people, as i know most perisex transmascs inject intramuscular. that being said, testosterone cypionate is generally the go-to, it's strong, it's effective, it's kind of what everyone pictures when they think of T. the only thing to keep in mind about injectable T is pharmacies don't always give you the correct gauges of needle. generally you want 2 different gauge of needle, one larger and thicker to draw the T from the vial and a smaller thinner one for injecting, but pharmacies are really bad at giving you both, and giving you the correct gauges of both. this is easily the biggest pain with injectable T. if you have needle trauma or just don't want to have very strong spikes of testosterone and very strong drops in your hormone levels leading up to injection day, a gentler option is topical.
i've personally used androgel and i really like it, that's actually what i'm using right now, as i've been injecting for 7 years and my doctor wanted me to move away from that to avoid potential tissue damage from years and years of poking my skin. i really like androgel, although for some people it is less effective. if you have very low natural testosterone, or, your body is just poorly receptive to the hormone and doesn't take to it easy, it make struggle to benefit as much from topical testosterone, however nothing is stopping you from asking your clinician to try the topical T at a slightly higher dose to see if you just need a boost when using it transdermally. your dose isn't going to be the same on an injectable format as it is on a transdermal format
i get a generic version of androgel that comes in a bunch of pre-measured tubes so i don't have to measure anything out. i just apply 1 tube two days a week. i find that super handy as measuring my dose with injectable T was sometimes time consuming, especially if the pharmacy gave me the wrong gauge of needle, which they did often. my only complaint is that it's an alcohol based gel, so it smells very strongly when applying it. it literally just smells like rubbing alcohol, which doesn't sound bad, but it smells like about 1 gallon of it at once. that's hyperbole of course but it's just very concetrated smelling. the two areas they suggest applying it are on your abdomen (belly) and on the outside of your biceps (between shoulder and elbow). you can pick what works for you, i typically tend to do it as far away from my face as possible so i'm not dying from the smell but some of my alters put it on our arm because they're too lazy to put it under our shirt so (shrug)
always wash your hands directly after using topical T because you can in fact transfer testosterone to other people by touching them. you're not going to cause them to transition but it's just important to wash your hands to make sure you're not getting it on anyone else. it's recommended to avoid showering or getting into a pool or getting wet or anything for at least 45 minutes, i'd wait at least an hour or more if you can, just to make sure you're getting the most out of it you possibly can. it does leave a residue on your skin, but i notice it's more annoying on your hands than anywhere else. i think some people probably use a glove to apply it but i am broke as hell rn and don't
that's about all i can think of at the moment, anyone else please feel free to weigh in about any other kinds of testosterone or to throw in anything else i missed, like i said, these are the only two forms i have direct experience with. hope this helped some!
