That’s right— the Star Wars Secret Santa Exchange is back for 2023!
The basics: submit any ships or found families you like along with at least one winter theme: winter fun, New Year’s, Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Solstice, etc.
Fanfiction, fanart, playlists and/or photo edits are all welcome in this event 🎨

General requirements:
All gifts will be related to Star Wars. This includes all three movie trilogies, all television series, and any games or Legends related content. No NSFW content is allowed. This event is open to all ages. Joining the fest Discord will be required for mod to distribute updates and pairings.

Multi-Fandom Event: Holiday Cheer 2022
The Multi-Fandom Postcard Exchange is pleased to present its annual Holiday Cheer event where everyone 16 and older who is interested can receive physical holiday cards and/or postcards in their mailbox–all without having to share their mailing address with everyone! And this year, you don’t have to be a member to participate! ❤
The Basics
You do not need to send cards in order to receive them! We believe everyone deserves to be included, regardless of funds/ability/etc.
You also do not need to receive cards in order to send them.
You do not need to be a member of the Multi-Fandom Postcard Exchange.
Your address is PRIVATE–it is only shared with the MFPE’s two mods (not our volunteers).
Senders only have to pay the postage to get their package of cards to us; we pay the postage to get everything to the recipients.
Every effort will be made to have the cards delivered to the recipients before the 4th weekend of December.

Card Ratings
Everyone who signs up to receive cards will choose an overall content rating threshold for the cards they receive. The two ratings are these:
I am comfortable receiving family-friendly cards only. (No cursing, adult themes, etc.)
I am comfortable with cards featuring cursing, adult themes, adult humor, etc.
Card Categories
Recipients will also mark which categories of cards they are comfortable receiving. This year, our categories are:
Hanukkah cards.
Both secular and pagan Winter Solstice cards.
Secular holiday cards, excluding "Merry Christmas." ("Happy holidays," "season's greetings," etc. only.)
Secular holiday cards, including "Merry Christmas."
Christian Christmas cards. (These may include crosses, Bible verses, nativity scenes, etc.)
New Year cards.
Random fandom holiday cards (of any fandom, with the exception of those listed by the recipient).
Card Requirements
After sign-ups have closed, we will announce how many cards of each category have been requested. Sender sign-ups will then open and the submission period will begin. Senders are NOT required to create enough cards for everyone–they may create as many or as few as they like.
You can either use commercial cards/postcards or create your own.
You must write at least one sentence of your own text and sign the card with either your real first name or your fandom name.
You can include a personalized insert if you’d like. When sending holiday cards, some people send out family photos/updates/etc. You can choose to include anything you’re comfortable with. Photos of pets are always welcome!
Cards do not all have to be the same.
Sending Cards
After completing the Sender Sign-up form and creating their holiday cards, senders should read through the following:
Before sending your package, you MUST complete the follow-up form to let us know how many cards you are sending, what categories they fall under, and what date they will be mailed.
All of your holiday cards should be packaged together and sent to the MFPE’s PO Box. (We love it when you separate the cards by category with rubber bands or other means and then put a post-it note on each stack stating which category they fall under. We love it, but it’s not necessary!)
You do not need to include envelopes, but if you have envelopes you’d like to donate to us, we certainly appreciate it!
You only have to pay the postage to get the package to us; we pay the postage to get everything to the recipients.

Card-making social with ASL interpretation (Dec. 10th, 2-4:30pm)
We have an in-person card-making social scheduled
Sunday, Dec. 10th from 2-4:30pm at The 519
ASL interpretation is confirmed!
(we now have a regular monthly booking for the 2nd Sunday of the month 2-4:30pm)
• we'll start with some get-to-know-you games and
• we'll move onto card-making activities for holiday cards.
(Want to make some last-minute cards for Hanukkah before it's over? Some cards in preparation for Christmas, Kwanzaa, the Solstice, New Year, Maple Syrup Day, etc.)
Card-making supplies provided! (includes blank cards and envelope, decorative paper, scissors, glue, ribbon/tape, and googly-eyes, etc.)

• The building has a large ramp to enter, power doors, an elevator inside and accessible all-gender washrooms
• we'll bring unscented soap

Something I didn't realize would have such a profound impact when I offered it were some digital greeting cards for the winter holidays - and there are a bunch of them! Kwanzaa, Hanukkah, Yule/Winter Solstice, Christmas, etc.
I had people fill out a little form that would only go to me and asked preferred holiday or general seasons greetings, favorite color (so I could do a cool color theme), pronouns and preferred name. They were digitally delivered and only I would see the information, and a few folks I previously didn't know were questioning or getting ready to come out put it in the form.
It was our little secret until they "knew" and were ready to socially come out.
This time of year when sometimes home feels like a strange place, I gave 'em a little family. A little something personalized and affirmative because it's what they deserve. To be included and acknowledged, even in a little way.
If you dig this idea, I did it with Canva and a Google form for the info - there are a lotta templates on Canva you can use for free for greeting cards, and you can even make little animated gifs with sparkly stuff or falling snow!

We are requiring sign ups for this zine as we’ve found this works best and also allows us to better prepare for the zine’s launch being in the midst of the Holiday season (being shortly after the end of Hanukkah and just a day before Christmas). If you do not know if you will be able to complete your piece in the timeline provided, please still sign up and request a half-way check in. You can drop out at any time.

When you sign up, you will be asked if you would like a “mystery moodboard” to be created for your piece. If you say yes, this moodboard will include images that relate to your piece and a short tagline as well as your username. The point of this moodboard is to encourage people to get excited about the zine and your piece in it. After the zine launches, the post will be updated to include the title and a link to your piece.
Deadline & Extensions
By the deadline, December 20th, you must have submitted your piece by midnight EST. You may request an extension of 24 hours, but you must request this before midnight EST on December 20th such that we can post the completed zine by December 24th.

Chopped: Holiday Trope Exchange!
Welcome to the Chopped: Holiday Gift Exchange! A Secret Santa style gift exchange, but with a Chopped Twist! If you’re new to this event, welcome!! We hope you choose to join in on our festive fun!!
The Chopped: Holiday Trope Exchange is a double blind fic exchange, meaning you wont know who you’re writing for, or who is writing for you! Here’s how it works:
First, take a look at our list and pick four (4) tropes that you’d like to be included in your gift!!
Then, sign up here!!
Remember, this event is double blind!! This is to help preserve that truly quintessential Chopped experience, where any writer can take the tropes and make something unique and surprising! Because of this, you wont be able to reach out to your recipient for any more info, and that means what you give your writer is all they have to go on, so try to be clear! If there is something you really want, or really don’t want, make sure to tell them during this stage of the exchange!
Then...wait! We will have a two week sign up period, so after you’ve signed up, just keep your ask box open and be prepared to get your prompt! We will send out your prompts between December 1st and December 5th to your ask box, and then the writing period begins!
Fics are due on December 24th at 11:59pm!!! Submit your fics to our AO3 collection, which can be found here! Please be sure to have them in on time, because we will be reviewing them to make sure all your tropes are included! This AO3 collection is unrevealed, which means once your fic is submitted, you won’t be able to see it until we reveal them! If you’re worried about whether we received it or not, you can always DM us to ask!
We will review all the fics and then we will reveal them all on December 27th! (We like to enjoy the holidays with our families too guys lol)!

Theme Explanation:
For this Holiday Theme, fics must be set sometime between November through January. They may be centered around certain holidays like, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanza, Winter Solstice, Boxing Day, Las Posadas, Diwali, New Year’s Eve/Day, etc. Or they may be centered around holiday type activities like, Christmas Tree Lightings, Ice Skating, Polar Plunges, Family/Friends’ Gatherings, Work Parties, Traveling, Religious Celebrations, etc.
Rules:
Our rules from the previous iterations of this challenge have worked out really well for us, so we are going to stick to them! If you need a refresher, the rules are as follows:
The requirements for the fics entered into the competition will be:
Must be The 100 Characters
Must fit the theme
Must use ALL of the tropes selected by your recipient. If you don’t use the tropes, we will contact you and ask you to remedy the issue. Please remember, these are a gift for someone else, and by signing up, you’re agreeing to include the tropes your recipient has asked for!
There is no maximum word count, but your fics must be at least 2,000 words.
All ratings G through M are welcome. E ratings are not permitted for this round. [M ratings are permitted to allow for sex scenes in your fics while also ensuring that people who do not enjoy smut fics won’t end up with a gift including smut. For sex scenes in an M rated fic, think of it like a pg-13 rom-com, where the scene starts, gets a little hot and heavy, but fades to black before any explicit sexual content occurs.]
You will be disqualified if you include:
Rape!
Underage! (This means no high school AU with sex, no teacher/student if the student is underage, zero adult/under 18 relationships!)
Incest! (incest includes adopted siblings, parent/child, step siblings, biological siblings, or any familial relationship, blood related or not!).
Negativity towards any character or ship! (This includes any sort of abuse perpetrated by a character intending to paint them in a negative light, negative statements about a character intended purely to express your dislike of a character, or things of that nature.)
Smut! For this round only, smut is also not permitted. Sex scenes without explicit sexual content are permitted, but genitalia and the description of sexual acts are not permitted.
This event was created to help get creative and different fics out into the world, and to create a fun, positive fandom experience for everyone! In order to ensure that we achieve that goal of a positive experience, we reserve the right to disqualify anyone if we are reading and we think it violates any of our rules.
Please remember that we will reveal the fics all on the same day, and until then this is a secret gift exchange!! Please only submit your fics to the AO3 Collection, and do not post them on your personal blog or on your AO3 account until the fics have been posted by us, and do not reveal what tropes you were assigned before the reveal.

Be sure to indicate which theme/prompt your content is for. You can put it in your tags or on your piece, just let us know so we can reblog appropriately.
We also have an AO3 collection. AO3 has a really great tutorial on how to post to a collection! Check it out for in-depth instructions. The easiest way to join is to go straight to the RIVERDALE REINDEER GAMES collection on AO3, and click the “Post to Collection” button. That will take you to a screen to upload your fic as normal! That button fills out the specific collection for you, so you know your work is going to the right place. Your fic will still show up under your works, and you will be listed as the author of your story.

Absolutely! We support all fandom events! Holiday Movie Challenge Prompt and Badge lists
Hellooooo shippers of all Marvel ships!
This marks the kickoff to HEA (Happily Ever After) Marvel’s Holiday Movie Challenge! If you don’t know us, we’re a group of crafty mods under the direction of our own personal Pepper Potts ( @betheflame ), so really, this is going to be great fun, and we hope that you’ll join us!
A brief intro to our event:
At no point do you need to sign up for this event. You are not beholden to post anything, even if you say that you will. This is a guiltless, fun event!
Pick a prompt, any prompt!
Interpret the prompt any which way you wish. We have prompt examples available for people to peruse on our blog and on our Discord, if you’re in need of a few examples.
Write (or art, podfic, or moodboard, etc.) any ship you want, even polyamorous relationships of any number or type (even if the prompts contain just two characters!).
Include additions from our badge list if you wish! They function like video game achievements (think World of Warcraft, or Xbox) and you will be rewarded with little achievement badges designed by the wonderful @kocuria that you can display anywhere you please.
The collection will open on November 1st and close on December 24th.
Around then we will provide a Google form to submit the badge info and other info for your fic.
BUT REMEMBER! All contributions to this event must have a Happily Ever After as per holiday movie standards (doesn’t mean there can’t be tons of angst and pain in the middle, though).

Prompts
1. Character A is a big city lawyer who swore to never go back to their hometown. Suddenly, their grandfather dies and leaves them the family Christmas Tree farm. They’re determined to go back and shut down the farm. Character B runs the farm and is determined to save it.
2. After losing their job as an au pair in New York, Character A accepts a position as a nanny in the castle of a small European principality no one has ever heard of. Character B is a single parent & ruler of the country.
3. When architect and Christmas amateur Character A finds themselves hosting their family for Christmas, they recruit holiday coordinator Character B to bring holiday joy to their home.
4. A high-powered executive reconsiders their priorities when car trouble leads them to Christmas Valley, a town in love with Christmas.
5. Two new students at nearby university, Character A and Character B, meet the first day of classes and become study partners. A local bookstore becomes a close part of their lives as their relationship grows.
6. Character A - a famous author who writes about how to stay single - is forced to look after their niece and nephew over the holidays. With the help of their Christmas-loving neighbor, Character B, they learn to find love and the Christmas spirit.
7. A young royal (Character A) escapes their entourage to explore New York City over Christmas. They meet Character B who shows the beautiful stranger their side of the city.
8. As Christmas approaches, Character A (the Lizzie Bennet character), a New York event planner, is sent to a quaint, small town to organize their holiday festival. When they arrive, they find Character B (the Darcy character), a high-profile billionaire lacking in holiday spirit, in the process of selling the charming estate they hoped to use as a venue.
9. An anxious bride-to-be (Character A, “bride” is non-gender assigned) throws in with broken-hearted and cynical Character B and a happily married couple for an emergency ride to NYC from New England.
10. Character A has to go to their cousin’s holiday wedding that’s taking place a year to the day they were left at the altar. Unable to face going alone, they con Character B into going “just as friends.”
11. When a restless young married Character A is granted a wish by a Christmas Angel to be single again, they soon discover their new life isn't what they bargained for, and embark on a quest to win Character B back.
12. Character A and Character B have been archrivals ever since a memorable fight over a coveted Christmas recital solo in elementary school. Now adults, they work side-by-side at the same school where they still constantly compete over everything. As the holiday season approaches, the entire school is getting into the spirit with the annual fundraising festival, which will feature an exciting new event - a teacher Christmas Cookie Bake-Off, judged by a tough five-star chef.
13. Character A inherited a toy factory. The town needs the factory to stay open, but they have no interest in being tied to their hometown. Especially when they find out that Character B - who broke their heart in high school - is the town’s mayor.
14. A WWII era nurse (Character A) is transported in time to 2019 and meets Character B who helps them discover the bonds of family and that the true meaning of Christmas is timeless.
15. Stranded at an airport at Christmastime, Character A accepts a ride from Character B, who has just rented the last car in town.

Looking for a way to spread holiday cheer to your fellow fans this December? We have 26 people who would love to receive cards from you!
If you’re interested in being a sender this year, take a look at the recipient requests below the cut, get all of your cards ready (because we’ll ask you how many of each type you’re sending), and then sign up here! Sender sign-ups are open now through November 7th!
(Why do we need you to send out your cards to us by November 7th? So that the cards have time to reach us and then reach the recipients!)

Heroes of Winter Prompt Fest Guidelines and Rules
* Heroes of Winter is a prompt based holiday fest for the Marvel fandom! If you can not find something that inspires you from the list of prompts, you can use any winter holiday themed idea!
* Submissions can be any rating, any pairing/moresome or gen fic, any universe, and any genre. This applies to both fic and art.
* All submissions must have a winter or holiday theme. This includes any holiday held during December, such as Christmas, Hanukkah, Traditional Yule, Winter Solstice, or New Years celebrations.
* Prompts are available for use by everyone and can be used by multiple participants.
* You can use as many prompts as you want, in any combination you want.
* You are more than welcome to submit more than one entry. The more the merrier!
* Fic submissions must be at least 100 words long. There is no upper word limit.
* Art can be any of the following: Traditional art (pencil, painting, digital etc.), photo manipulations, graphics or handmade crafts. We also welcome podfic, and more. If you have a question about what is allowed, please just ask!
* You must get explicit permission from the author before you can start podficcing their work.
* All content is allowed, providing it is properly warned for.
* Participation is through registering your interest on the sign-up post and giving an indication if you will submit Fic, Art or Other. Sign ups will close one week before entries are due.
* There will be scheduled postings throughout the month of December. The goal is to have enough submissions to post every day of December. Depending on how many submissions I receive, some days may have double (or more) postings, or some days may have no postings at all.
