There is a cyclic tragedy inherent to Mori's character wherein he's actually a deeply lonely man, but it's mostly because his resolve to do morally reprehensible things and think of people as pieces on the game board is something he prioritizes over his relations with those very same people, and this inevitably pushes them away (for very understandable reasons). And it kind of sucks honestly because the most frustrating thing about Mori is that he 100% has the potential to be a fantastic teacher and mentor, and more than that, I think he loves it! Just look at Beast! But for as long as he decides he needs to be the one to make "the hard calls" to "preserve peace", then Mori will inevitably continue in this cycle of alienating all the people he has a fondness for.
I do feel as though Mori's loneliness is something he views as a necessary sacrifice that he is making for the greater good (and if he is so willing to sacrifice, then Dazai's unwillingness to do the same comes out of left field because - "what do you mean? you're supposed to be just like me!").
Anyways.
Mori voice: "I'm so alone"
Also Mori: *continues to prioritize pure logic over the emotions of his people and himself*
The people: *get rightly angry and/or become extremely traumatized and leave him*
Mori voice: "I did what needed to be done"
Mori: "..."
Mori: "..."
Mori: "I'm so alone"
Sir. You are doing this to yourself.

People blaming Price for getting Soap killed are forgetting that, if I’m remembering correctly, Shepherd wanted Makarov alive. Price couldn’t let Soap kill him right in front of Shepherd and considering he’s the man that basically let the entire task force exist they would all get fired

That Rhys didn't tell Feyre about the risk of pregnancy as soon as he found out, and that Nesta told her in a fit of anger, just to hurt her
And that they both regretted doing it that way afterwards

the power falin has, for good and for worse. For holding similar traits that Laois does, she's loved instead of hated. People band together for Falin. People are repulsed by Laois. Except Falin of course. Do you think if laois had been the one eaten in the dungeon, that the gang would have united to save him? Falin would have tried, we know she would. Falin was saved because the two people who loved her more than the entire world risked everything to save her. Did Laois have that much?
When the going got tough, would the others have stuck around? Thought it worth it?
Would just Falin have been enough?

Supervillain gets sick. Very, VERY sick. Will someone help him or is life about to get much, much worse for the master criminal?
Supervillain is sick
The air feels cold against their clammy skin, sending chills down their spine and arms. Their chest movements are uneven as they try to suppress another fit of coughs choking on their throat. Supervillain squeezes their eyes shut, waiting for it to pass. Their eyelids are heavy as lead when they try to open their eyes. They attempt a deep breath but end up wheezing through another cough.
Superhero be damned.
That ice-cold bath in the frozen river must have been the last straw. They had landed on the bridge to wipe the perspiration off their forehead and run a hand through their damp hair. Meningitis was the last thing they wanted to die from, not after such a brilliant career as a master criminal and head of everything underground. Superhero didn't entirely mind the state of affairs in the city either. Their battles were nothing more than a warning. A display of power on both their ends to ensure no one attempted to defy the balance they had achieved.
Supervillain huffs out a shuddering breath, pressing a palm against their chest. It hurts all the way up to their throat and head. Their back feels stiff despite the softness of their couch. They did not expect the push and had to regroup under the surface, loosing precious time and, apparently, their lungs to the water.
The room is getting too hot, so they throw their blanket off, allowing the air to touch their burning skin. They inhale sharply at the sensation before realising they are no longer alone in the room.
"That's not a good idea," Supervillain glances in the general direction of the voice. What an astute observation. Had they not been this exhausted, they would have jumped up or searched for a weapon. Superhero shakes their head, walking out of the shadows.
"I'm not known for good ones," Supervillain admits, earning a low chuckle from their nemesis.
"How long have you been burning up like this?" Superhero asks, seizing them up. Supervillain raises an eyebrow watching Superhero point at their eyes. Ah, yes. Thermal vision.
"What day is it today?" They ask. Their mouth is dry, but when they take a gulp of water, it feels stale against their tongue. "I've been down since Monday night."
"Are you out of your mind?" Superhero's voice goes unusually high. It must be about a week then, Supervillain assumes. They suspect it is pneumonia, and judging from the frown in Superhero's brow, they must be correct in that diagnosis. They want to ask how bad it is but opt for a safer route.
"I didn't exactly throw myself into a goddamn frozen river, did I?" They retort before going into a violent coughing fit. Superhero pulls them into a sitting position, rubbing circles on their back until they calm down. "You did."
"I know," Superhero looks ashamed, which they thoroughly enjoy despite the fever and weakness. They lean back against the couch, resting their spinning head. Dehydrated, Superhero mutters under their breath. "What do we do?"
Supervillain has to suppress a laugh at the risk of going into another uncontrollable fit. Their chest hurts from constant coughing. "How would I know? You're the ex-doctor here."
"There's no such thing as an ex-doctor," Superhero smiles, collecting their thoughts. They need ibuprofen, coughing syrup, some antibiotics, rest and lots to drink. "I wish I could listen to your lungs."
"Can't you do that with your eyes?" Superhero can't help the laugh that escapes their lips.
"Just how clueless are you?" They don't wait for a reply, marching into the kitchen only to come back with a new glass of water and some medicine in their hand. "Take this. It'll help you sleep while I make run for the pharmacy."
For some unfathomable reason, Supervillain obliges without question. They must be really weak, Superhero figures. They drape the blanket over Supervillain's form and find another for when their fever drops and they start shaking. They make a cup of lemon tea and place it on the coffee table, ordering Supervillain to drink it before their return.
Superhero knows who is to blame for the ice water bath, yet they can't help but wonder why there's no one taking care of the master criminal. No henchmen, no followers, no minions. Just them, alone in their lair. Their life behind the curtains feels eerily identical to Superhero's.
They glance back, wondering who and what they are fighting for and find no answer. Would anyone notice if one day Supervillain went missing? Seeing them now, they could as well be gone, and no one would come looking for their lifeless body. They could die alone in their living room, and no one would know. Would anyone notice if it were Superhero? They didn't know. They didn't want to know.
Hi, lovely anon! I might have taken this into a slightly different direction from what you expected but I hope you still find it fun. Thank you for the request :)

i have been listening to Numb - Linkin Park on repeat these past few days and to me, it literally sums up pretty well the relationship of the second House of Lancaster (John of Gaunt, Henry IV, Henry V, Henry VI, Edward of Lancaster) with each other pretty well

not to be a gatekeeper unironically but i genuinely feel a very, very small percentage of people actually understand crocodile. and if you think you're in that small percentage you're probably the exact kind of person I am talking about. Not to be mean but to be mean.
this is mainly directed at genderbenders and dofuwani shippers. neither of y'all understand crocodile and do not deserve access to him
#I could rant for forever about how much dofuwani shippers COMPLETELY misunderstand Crocodile as a character#Talking about (Omg twice divorced dofuwani) as if Crocodile would ever lack the self respect to marry or even datd doflamingo#In the first place#I have that damned tag filtered out but it still gets on my page#and before anyone comes at me with (Ugh can't you just have fun hes just a character) no im autistic and i rarely take shows as seriously#As I do One piece#And I take crocodile even MORE seriously#(omgggg dofuwani scene) and its a scene of crocodile telling Doflamingo they arent on the same level and that he'll kill him#That isn't Crocodile playing coy or hating him but loving him#When crocodile hates he HATES#Crocodile doesn't stand for disrespect! He doesn't stand for bitches like Doflamingo! I genuinely doubt you understand the first thing#About Crocodile if you ship Dofuwani#ok rant over#don't bring dofuwani on my posts#Crocodile genderbenders are a whole different can of worms ive already talked about#1pc#sir crocodile#DONT EVEN GET ME STARTED ON THE FACT DOFLAMINGO IS A CELESTIAL DRAGON#why in GODS fucking name would crocodile EVER want someone who was a celestial dragon and actively lusts for the power he had as one#And you know#I actually did ship dofuwani before I actually got to Crocodile and Doflamingos intros#Then I got to it and was like wow. this ship makes zero fucking sense#Also like Doflamingo is implied to be a rapist and a very canon human trafficker but. whatever!

I tend not to get into “WOF meta” that much since I tend to find that stuff kind of cringe. However I came to the realization that part of what made the original books stand out, at least in my experience, was how “morally grey” the conflict was. Not in the way that morally grey characters are prominent in the conflict, but in that every obvious solution for a conflict and every side of the conflict kind of sucks. There’s a lot more obvious “good vs evil” in arcs 2 and 3, or at least a more definite “morally good” end goal. Over half of the first arc was the central characters just trying to survive, something darkly reflected with more villainous groups like the Nightwings. Nevermind the actual goal the protagonists are supposed to solve, of which there is no obvious good solution. The one group that should be outright helpful to them, the Talons of Peace, is probably one of the most dangerous groups they could encounter. Almost every authority figure, from their parents to queens, the dragonets encounter are at best unhelpful. The only ultimate message is one about the strength of friendship and that war is hell.

hey girlie it’s me, sam winchesters gay lover, your mootie 🥰🥰🥰 i just wanted to let you know, that your tags on the post about that wincest video are based and i agree with every word, hashtag slay couldn’t agree more i loved reading your essay in those tags heart ❤️
omg thank you!!! i'm basically only capable of talking in essays whether people want me to or not, unfortunately
i just have a lot of feelings on this topic and the whole "canon or not canon" argument is weird to me; the themes are pretty darn clear in supernatural (it is NOT known for its subtlety) so idk man. they don't have to kiss to be canon. and they don't have to have a romantic relationship to be canon either. how many times do they get into relationships with other people only for it to be treated as cheating/betrayal/abandonment, only for them have to give up that relationship in order to reaffirm their devotion to their brother
that's just what the text says. i'm not under any kind of delusion that they have some secret sexual or romantic relationship, but that doesn't change that sam and dean are each other's most important person regardless of that. which is really awesome imo, that romance isn't treated as more important than whatever horrible thing they have with each other, and that they don't have to consummate their relationship with romance/sex in order for it to be the most important one they have
(and of course there's romantic/sexual subtext, like parallels and metaphors and misunderstandings and jokes, but to me that just provides a solid foundation for presenting this relationship between them as the most important even though it's not romantic or sexual—because this language of romance is the only one we know, really, when it comes to writing important relationships between characters. it's the only one we know in our own personal lives, to a large extent. so you use the romance/sexuality to symbolize the actual bond they have. which is so much worse lmao)
anyway i think spn is fairly unique in this way because of how no other relationships can really ever stand parallel to the one they share; even in other shows that center male friendship, romance is allowed to coexist with brotherhood. for sam and dean, it's not, and that becomes a point of tension and conflict and resolution many, many times over the course of the show. so like yeah!!! just because it's not romantic or sexual doesn't mean it's not canon, in the sense that their relationship is the point of the show, and it is the most important relationship they have. they chose each other above all else, every single time. yknow, it's "the epic love story of sam and dean" and all that
#ask#sorry. i did not intend to write another essay about this#but as i said i am only capable of talking in essays. my apologies#to be honest the only reason i have so much to say about this is because i have seen some truly baffling takes about what sam and dean are#and every time i see one i have to sit here and think about it. like how did you arrive at that conclusion. what are you watching#mostly in terms of like. people saying sam and dean are not weird and codependent and enmeshed with each other#that's just blatantly not true because again. this show is about sam and dean and their relationship. textually subtextually metatextually#the concept of even having to defend their relationship as canon is as confusing to me as having to defend umm rubysam is canon#or something#like it happened. they were together in canon. we saw them have sex. you can't say rubysam isn't canon because it's right there#same thing with sam and dean. the difference is the nature of their relationship and the fact that i guess people don't want to like#think of it as canon when it's not romantic????#it's such a no-brainer kind of thing. like the fact that i'm sitting here trying to explain myself is embarrassing me bc it's like#no shit sherlock#but again the only reason i am thinking about this so much is because i keep seeing people trying to deny or downplay their relationship#in the first place#which is BIZARRE to me#like idk i don't see people trying to deny that ummmm fuck. killua and gon hxh aren't canon friends#that they don't even like each other#wow i'm seriously rambling. apparently i have more to say about this topic than i originally conceived#idk man i get people are uncomfortable with incest but the point is that it's like. not. their canon-ness is not related to incest#they're just insane about each other and they are each other's most important person. they are more important than romantic pursuits#the uniqueness is that it trumps all other relationships and cannot coexist with any others. that's what's so canon about it#it's not just friendship. it's not just brothers. it's not just husbands. it's everything and nothing and so much more all at once#shrugs. sorry for rambling AGAIN#i hope i'm making sense here#supernatural#wincest#spn posting
