My sweet heart,
I’m visiting my family right now but I promise I’ll be home soon. I know it’s been so hard recently but I love you and I’m so proud of you. I know how hard it is when people dismiss you. Tell you you’re not good enough, ignore you, tell you your problems aren’t significant and you’re being dramatic. I’ve been in Thor’s shadow all my life. My father has told me I’m not good enough, drove me to the point of insanity. I did everything to win his affection but it wasn’t good enough. But you, my love, have never given up. You’re still here, and I’m so proud of you. I’m sending you all my cuddles and kisses. And trust me, I’ll make it up to you when I get back 😉
Love,
Mischief

this is important
listen to me. It is not your responsibility to make everyone happy. It is not your responsibility to please everyone. It is not your responsibility to stay in a position you hate because ‘no one else will do it’.
it is not your fault that someone else can’t get their shit together. It is not your fault that someone else didn’t have a backup plan. It is not your fault that leaving will upset them.
you do not deserve to be yelled at. You do not deserve to be told cruel things. You do not deserve abuse.
if you made a commitment, then fulfill that commitment and leave. If you made a promise, keep that promise and leave. if leaving is imperative, fuck that commitment and fuck that promise.
your mental health is the most important thing. Your safety should be your top priority.
You will disappoint some people, and make some people unhappy, that’s just part of life. You shouldn’t try to please everyone
But if you disappoint yourself and make yourself unhappy due to someone else’s stupid decisions, leave.
Surround yourself with people who love you and who treat you with respect.
you deserve love
you deserve respect
and above all, no one has the RIGHT to damage your mental and physical health.
I love you

Idk who needs to hear this but I definitely do so here we go.
You can't be perfect.
There's no such thing as perfection. There will always be be room for improvement. This can apply to a lot of things: who you are as a person, things you write, draw, whatever. It will never be perfect. So keep growing and learning and improving.
if you keep telling yourself "I'll wait until I get better at this" you'll never do anything because you were only waiting. So do it now.
You can look back and see how much you've grown. Even if it seems like barely anything, it's better than nothing at all.

bored at work and Unusual Weather came up in my AO3 browsing so i'm rereading it for just the second time i think and it's soooo hard not to grin at my computer like a maniac with every line. This is the kinda fic you save in your back pocket for when you're having a rough day, it's so good and fun and sweet and rounded out with real angst in the context of Bucky's post-WS headspace. Just so fucking smile-inducing 🥰🥰🥰

Hey I don’t know which of you needed to hear this but
University is not unanimously going to be “the best time of your life”
If it sucks, that’s completely fine! I had like three friends in my undergraduate, and it took me through senior year to get to the point of like actually being comfortable in my skin there; admittedly I had COVID affecting it in the middle of my undergrad but like even the years unaffected by it just. Kinda sucked? Mental health in my freshman year especially was at an ATL, I felt like I never had friends; I have repeatedly told people if COVID had hit during my freshman year instead of when it did I would have just fuckin Left the uni. I was miserable, and it took midway through sophomore year before I was fully willing to even give it a shot.
That said? I’m a masters student now, applying for PhD, and this is genuinely the happiest I’ve ever been. I have friends I genuinely like. Projects I genuinely want to work on. A place I actually want to be. Money is tight (isn’t it always) but I have places to go midday that I enjoy. I have a favorite cafe; a favorite library. My course load is heavy, but I’m not drowning in it. I’m genuinely happy.
Don’t let people tell you you should just be happy in college. College can suck. But it gets better. I promise you it gets better.

You can forgive someone even if they aren't sorry.
It's a gift you're able to give to yourself. A form of release where you do not allow hate to churn your heart, and instead make room for love to expand it.
It doesn't mean you're required to forget and pretend something didn't happen or not retain the boundaries you need, but forgiveness can be an important stepping stone on your healing path. And I hope you allow yourself that gift as you move forward with love and clarity.

My personal headcannon is that Turo suffered from a neuro degenerative disease. Something he was aware of... slowly poisoning his mind and making thing worse. There is no cure in his current time era... but in the future... in the future he had hope. Even then... he didn't want to leave arven behind. He had to find a way to go, and then return to him... a way forward and then back. He stayed away from Arven... fearing in his episodes he might cause harm. But it would be alright. When he returned from the future he would just return to when he left him. It would be like he never left. While he toiled away in Area zero... he would also be in cabopoco. With his son and all the time in the world.
That disease of course is hereditary.
He doesn't even know of Arven could also someday suffer from it when he's older.
But it doesn't matter. He will go to the future... and bring back the cure. Arven could get a happy... disease free life, in the paradise of area zero.
Oh my god this is almost worse than my hc of Turo being bipolar!
I love it... but I'm also super sad.
But this is maybe why I love it??
Does Turo die in this AU? If he dies, at least I hope Arven is not sick?
I need a moment

i do unironically think the best artists of our generation are posting to get 20 notes and 3 reblogs btw. that fanfic with like 45 kudos is some of the best stuff ever written. those OCs you carry around have some of the richest backstories and worldbuilding someone has ever seen. please do not think that reaching only a few people when you post means your art isn't worth celebrating.

*through gritted teeth* you are not a child taking a test with the purpose of getting the highest score, you are an adult trying new things and finding ways to enjoy your life, make mistakes, be a beginner, be mediocre, be where you need to be, be unlikeable, just. be.
