ok. elephant in the room or shit i thought about a while ago but didnt post, my going theory on the rise cancellation which idk if its a theory more-so as reading the room and putting the pieces together.
it seems like playmates fault to me on account of the toys being shit and then cancelled outright. like waves of toys ready to go in 2019, none saw the light of day.
obvs a lot of them were shit, not the point. the point being theres up to 6 waves of toys on the table at 2019 toy fair, only 1 and 2 were made. compare to the last toyfair showing the mutant mayhem toys.
playmates made both of these era of toys. do you see how much more effort went into one than the other. you can say movies are more popular blah blah blah. but playmates has made ALL tmnt toys since they ever existed, and comparing the rise toys to even the previous shows toys it seems obvious where they put the money.
anyway my theory here is playmates got told (or given or offered or whatever) mutant mayhem. they immediately went. oh. yeah this will make us money. lets start prepping moulds for this now, lets get ready to sell a shit ton of different stuff. and they just left all those rise things on the cutting room floor. they didnt tell anyone on the team they were gonna do that. they didnt say "yeah it doesnt matter what you do cuz we have this NEW thing coming" they just abandoned it. they pretended theyd give it a chance to come back if their movie went well just to appease them and us, cuz they saw more money elsewhere.
the dumb shit about that is like imagine saying that about like. batman or the avengers or something. yeah we wont make this cartoon anymore cuz we have a theatrical movie coming in 3 years. like. you can have more than one iteration YOU DID IT WITH 12.
truly this is nothing against mutant mayhem by all accounts it looks amazing, my point here is that im sick of playmates fucking over each tv show with their stupid hunks of plastic. it has in fact happened each time, rise was just faster
87 was good, then there were the 90s movies that got popular enough that the show needed to be closer in style to.
03 was good, then it got dark, told to be more fun (cuz kids like ben 10 now) so they made fast forward, which was also good but in its own way, but then tmnt 2007 came out and playmates literally said "nope nope, we want to save on moulds so change your show to look like this movie" then 07 didnt go well cuz warner bros didnt fucking market it (what i heard from a podcast w nolan north was that they were super preoccupied marketing the shit out of 300 at the time. which. ok very weird choice for kids toys)
then we have 2012 after nick buys the franchise. and 12 has the weird tonal dissonance of dark stuff and kid stuff, with the most "designed to be toys" characters in it, clearly messing w things in the show itself while it was going.
then bayverse comes out along side it and once its over we get rise, where the designs clearly take inspiration from that movie (donnie and raph specifically)
then mutant mayhem is announced and rise just. fades out of existence. planned seasons cut and cancelled. planned toys disappear.
anyway. none of those shows are bad. none of the movies that come out along side them are bad. its just the dumbassery of like. not being allowed more than one iteration at a time, and its nOT on account of popularity or brand synchronizing like youd think, its literally to not have to make as many DIFFERENT SHAPED hunks of plastic! its fucking stupid. rise's downfall seems to be POOR FUCKING PLANNING on playmates part for THEIR shitty toys and then also being cheap/unwilling to have TWO DIFFERENT KINDS OF TOYS AT ONCE (proof being the 03/07 thing)
anyway. thats my theory or whatever that fills me with rage. i hate playmates and i think its insane that the downfall of rise literally comes down to two stupid companies and their desire to sell garbage to children.

I love it when you tag Lewis as king Arthur 😘
<3<3 what's wild is that I had that idea in my head before I'd even gotten into f1blr bc of my F1 obsessed family members - they've been die hard Lewis fans literally since I can remember and they still talk about him as like a young phenom and changing the culture of F1 for the better. so the 'king' part was always there (esp when he did the Wakanda Forever thing) and then in my head it developed that he's ushered in a Camelot era to the sport (or trying to) and was like oh man this is gonna be my Lewis tag.
I mostly get all my knowledge from my history nerd friend or movies and wikipedia so obv this isn't extremely literal but:
I've got Lando tagged as 'heir apparent' sometimes bc Lewis adores him so much and I think sees a lot of himself. it cracks me up when ppl try to stir up drama about them when both of them will remember how much the press and fans loved taking Lewis' unfiltered early comments out of context for drama. BUT he is absolutely not Mordred from the later stories, he'd be the extremely early version who was a brave but complicated nephew of Arthur's and also Gawain/George's cousin (that fits so perfect). I don't want to use the name for his tag tho bc most of the associations are bad. so I use heir apparent as Lando becoming more like a reincarnation of King Arthur himself when Lewis leaves the future of Camelot to him.
I also love that there's literally a Lord Percival in Charles and I especially love that he's the character who was originally said to have found the sangreal for King Arthur after enduring many trials - which drives me absolutely insane since Ferrari means he always dresses in symbolic holy/royal blood red. even il Predestinato like ?? it all fits
I know they don't interact much at all yet but Oscar was already tagged by me as 'Galahad' for his bravery, chivalry and love for being a knight above all else - and the lore was changed to have him be the one to discover the grail which I could also easily see.
I've got a real thing for possibly naming Fernando as Lancelot bc he charms the royal court and I could also see him bedding someone he shouldn't and causing absolute chaos asjgfljas (that's coming up next!!) also him being Oscar/Galahad's father makes SO much sense narrative wise. the son has so much of the father's power but without the flaws/complexities.
I've got a wild idea that Nico is Guinevere and Fernando seduced him away from Lewis and that nearly caused the downfall of Camelot. Nico took himself to a convent/Sky Sports for redemption and healing asflgjasgfsla. I even love that I can pretend Lewis tried to summon Fernando back to Camelot after the whole affair but Fernando refused.
George's role keeps escaping me bc he's beautiful enough to be Lancelot but none of the rest of the narrative works as well as it does for Fernando. Gawain seems the most likely since he is Arthur's nephew and a powerful knight who also has a close friendship with Fernando/Lancelot and is cousin to Lando/Arthur's heir (2019 rookies brotherhood).

to make everyone feel better about the supposed “5 year break”
1. this tour isn’t selling as well as ATVB it’s obvious that they would market it as the last tour for a while to gather hype.
2. the only person to say a “few years” was Jamie once in a group chat with fans, and we know that man isn’t always true to his word. most people on reddit have said it’s just a marketing technique, cause only jamie has said that once. people were going crazy to get ticket for the eras tour cause people on twitter started a rumor on twitter that this would be taylor’s last album/tour before retirement. and she’s just recently confirmed that she’s still working on music at the moment. maybe jamie just wants to build up hype around this being the last tour for a few years and after the tickets sell well they will confirm that they aren’t going anywhere.
3. they’ve already started hinting at the next album with deleting all their post and showing a more green color scheme before archiving everything.
4. they’ve done albums every two years since 2016. so probably another album mid - late 2024.
5. most of notes was made during touring abiior. it’s not impossible for them to already have majority of the album done, specially cause matty has talked about being in studio with george (and jack) multiple time. (first time he mentioned they started their 6th album was in february i believe.)
6. matty has said something to the effect of “your favorite band, throughout every era of your life we will be here, no matter what.” at most shows.
7. after SATVB ends they will probably take some time off maybe releasing their album later 2024 nov - dec. and touring it 2025. (which would be almost two years since SATVB started, kind of boosting the “few years theory” isn’t as long as you think.
8. other possibilities is matty releases a solid album 2024/25 and tours it on his own but i doubt he could sell as well without the 1975 name behind him (no offense obvs.)
9. they’ve been best friends since they were 13, they might take a break from touring (a well deserved one) but their not splitting up entirely. why would they have already started album 6, months ago if they had any intention of breaking off in to a hiatus for 5 years.
10. (just a bonus theory)
it could be their last tour as THE 1975 (for a few years.) matty loves to be cryptic. it’s possible they might tour as drive like i do since it’s been implied heavily that he wants to return to that name one day.
i know some of these are a little delusional but i hope it put a end to some of your anxieties (everyone)
we know matty is insane sometimes, he fully well could announce his solo record or the next 1975 record in the next few months if he wanted to. plus People was released in like 2019 while on tour, it’s possible their next era will start soon or as already started (with them deleting all their post and stuff.)

yes, they've talked about the sixth album and i'm sure you're right about most of it being done too but then again i won't be surprised if they did take a break longer than 2 years or didn't immediately go on tour for the sixth album?? like adam's kid is still so young and i'm sure he wants to be much more involved. g and charli have talked multiple times about getting married.
their schedule is so insane that sometimes it feels like they have been putting their personal lives on hold for it which is obvs not good.
if matty does decide to release a solo album and tour it, i'd be really excited to see how that goes like even if he does it on a smaller scale it would certainly be an experience <33

hey, this is my first time using tumblr so im not exactly sure on what to do but i decided to come in here to explain why i would like the 22 hat when i go to the eras tour 2024. this is my first time ever going to a taylor swift concert and my parents didn't received any presale on ANY of the uk tours but my aunt who lives in canada by chance got the presale so she managed to buy three tickets and my parents are going to fly to canada with me in novemeber 12 so i can go to the concert on the 14. i will be missing 5 days of school and it is during mock season but i will catch up hopefully because obvs this is more important:) if by any chance taylor or her team sees this could you maybe consider me for the 22 hat and ive been a hard core swiftie since 2019 and i know that doesnt seem long but that was since i was 9 years old and my room is full of your posters and ive got all you cds even i have pre ordered TTPD. lots of love from Abigail. xx

idk how open you are about answering about ghostie p and marz mitzi asks but i'll give it a shot
What are your opinions on Ghost's old OCs (eg. Poppy, Macy, The Queen of Teeth, Fall, basically anything that predates Communications)? Do you have any headcanons about them? Do you prefer them to Ghost's new OCs? Would you want to see a sort of remake with those characters? share yo thoughtsss
I'm okay with the ghostiep and marzmitzi characters. I don't interact with ghost anyways so the dni thing doesn't really matter to me and I certainly dont mind if ghostiep and marzmitzi fans interact with me.
Also, I'm not like an expert on the ghost timeline. In my mind, the ghost eras are separated like: everything before communications is ghostie/marz, communications up to the 2020/2021 break is ghost and pals to me, and then everything afterwards is GHOST. Idk if the distinction between ghost and pals and GHOST is really a fandom wide thing, but I like to make it, because, to me, there's a notable difference, but some people may disagree with that and that's okay 👍
Um. That's all to say that I don't really know a whole lot about the ghostiep and marzmitzi eras. I got into the gnp fandom around 2019, so that's the era I'm most familiar with. There are definitely songs I think are interesting. I like Mad Psychology, Crazy Town, Dance with the Dead. I also really like Fall. I saw ship art of them and Teatime from the Distortionist once and its my favorite image ever. And obv the original Chattering is better. But I don't really have much to say about any of them lol sorry. Wish I had something more interesting to say.
Answering your question abt how I feel abt them compared to ghosts newer ocs. I'm kinda a hater of everything new ghost has made. I would rank it worst to best as: ghosts new ocs, marz/ghostie, then ghost and pals. I don't really think the marz/ghostie characters were like super fleshed out which is why I rank them lower than gnp, but if they had something more going for them they'd probably be equal to the gnp characters.
Um and idrk if I'd want to see a remake of any marz/ghostie stuff. As I said before, I really don't like anything new ghost has made. I think the thing about the marz/ghostie characters that people like is the uniqueness of them and the style ghost had in that era. Ghost's style is so much different now, and frankly pretty bland, that I think if ghost remade any of their older stuff it would just flat out suck. They already remade Chattering and Spider on the Wall and I don't think either of those remakes have as much charm as the originals.
Um anyways this is getting long. Sorry I didn't really have much to say abt the characters themselves. I'm sure I would like them if I knew more about them. It's just the nature of any marz/ghostie characters that the lore is hidden on the dark web so it's kinda hard to learn unless you find someone knowledgeable.

the way i've been paramore fan since riot! era but never really paid much attention to fandom stuff so now im trying to pick up some tayley lore. when did they start to live together? i think it was 2021 when hayley sold her house, right? and taylor in 2022 i believe... but saw somewhere that they started to renovate their new house back in 2019?? is it for real
2021 was when they started to live together. i think it was 2021 bc she posted a couple of a pics from a house and it clearly wasn't the little bat cave house she lived in (and then obvs sold) but taylor sold his in 2021 (want to clarify that someone told me this around the time it happened) and then yeah in 2019 they did that, it was talked about on reddit but not in the paramore one bc tayley talk was banned there lol

Soo.. been thinking. Do you think Taylor’s whole focus right now is her trying to go out with a bang if you know what I mean? I keep thinking about her 2019 doc where she basically said that women in the industry have an expiration date (about 35). At the time she was like 29/30 and now she’s 33. Since than she’s gone from releasing an album every couple years to releasing one or two albums per year which is honestly insane.. also this whole eras tour looking back at her career and celebrating all her achievements and all her fans. I know there’s obv other reasons (covid, scooter Braun) but lately I’ve been thinking she might be doing it now as she feels over the next few years she’ll slowly start losing relevancy.. not straight away but maybe she feels it’s her last real chance to have this level of fame and this insane level of hype.
i think she's always going to have this fear about losing relevancy like from the very beginning of her career with "nothing new" to more recently like what you mentioned with her 2019 documentary.
with that being said, i don't think she's doing this to finish loudly. she's always wanted to release her re-recorded albums as quickly as possible because the faster she releases them, the faster they lose money. and i genuinely believe she just released midnights because she felt inspired to release a new album she's been working on since march 2021.
i do believe she still has that fear about losing relevancy, but i also think that she's just working this hard and releasing music this quickly because she has the passion and drive for it!!

Thoughts on New Agent 3? (Or at least your version of them?)
hm... neo 3...
i will be real, until this past year i honestly didn't really think all that much about the agents? like. the canon guys. this of course changed the instant that i turned them into ocs for my writing, as i'd assume is not a rare occurrence for most people. when you personally craft a little guy out of the mold that a franchise gives you, its hard to NOT care about them at least a little bit!
ironically, my neo 3 is sort of ?? an exception to that?
not in the sense that i'm not attached to her! but like. in the sense that i did the total opposite to the whole "take the mold of canon and fill in the gaps with your own special little guy." rather, i did the reverse.
(new) agent 3 is, canonically, born and raised in the splatlands. they're from splatsville! they're FROM this shiny new setting for us to explore in rotm!
my neo 3? yeah no i just used an already existing oc concept for her LMAO
originally, she was gonna be my agent 8 oc. as in waaaay back in 2020/2021 when the rerun splatfests were happening and i was getting back into the game a little bit!
this (obv) did not happen, but i still ended up using her for neo3!
her whole jist (whether you havent read cracked snowglobes, or just want a refresher) is basically this; average octarian army child soldier who hears the inkantation ends up running away after working up the courage. goes MIA for a few years, from mollusc era 2019 until 2022, when she shows her face again in splatsville, joined by a silly little fishy guy, only to be recruited to be a child soldier AGAIN by an old man. time is a flat circle for neo3.
i have like. a thousand more things i could say about my specific iteration of neo3 but 1. this post is already long as hell and 2.i honestly wanna save them for a oneshots collection that ive had planned for. a while. specifically to go more indepth on all of my agent ocs' lives!

I mis the 2017-2019 shawnmblr era so badly 😭 don’t you reckon though that if he eventually starts touring and interacting with fans again people will come back 🤞

I WISH. But I’m not confident it will play out like this.
I think Shawn lost a little of his credibility in the last two years doing a lot of things only for the sake of promoting stuff. And obv because of Shawmila 😅 Also his team just really lacks creativity (not musically but promotion wise) so it’s not exactly a super fun time to become a Shawn fan hahaha
Also idk how interacting with fans would look like because some fans are just vile and so so so rude. I would LOOOOOOVE for him to do Q&A sessions again and everything. That was so fun to watch and such a nice way to bond with fans but like idk.
I have no idea how the future will play out. He might do the wonder tour next year and also drop a new album and go on tour again in 2024 but that just sounds exhausting.
Or he will drop an album next year and only do a tour in 2024. I think this one is more likely. Cause otherwise there would be like 4 years in between two albums which is insane. And he can’t go on dropping one single after another Selena Gomez style.
Or he might find someone and become a husband and dad and completely disappear from the face of the earth hahha idk

Just me things!:
Hi! My name is Rose or Rosie, either one is fine by me! I am an Aquarius ♒︎, I am a whopping 20 years old, I really like writing and ateez (if that weren’t obv by my whole blog) but I also really like a bunch of other k-pop groups. I work full time and still have some kind of energy for writing. K-Pop has been a part of my life since July of 2018 and I have listened to Ateez since the summer of 2019. Wonderland era was what really pulled me in, but I listened to Pirate King first and that caught my intrigue! Favorite era has to be The Real and favorite songs are Illusion and Sunrise. My ult groups are Ateez, Stray Kids, and Dreamcatcher. Biases are Mingi and Yeosang from Ateez, Lee Know from Stray Kids, and Dami and Gahyeon from Dreamcatcher. This is a writing blog where I can go wild and write whatever comes to mind or someone asks for, sfw or nsfw. It is mainly Ateez, but I do have a full list of kartists that I write for which I will link to here. As I am 20 and do write quite a bit of smut, I would greatly appreciate if minors did not interact here. I understand you may like to read some of my things, but I am not comfortable with minors interacting with my stuff. I currently do this not expecting an income of any kind. All I truly ask is that you give my posts some interactions. Likes are appreciated, but comments and reblogs are what I really am looking for. So do you think the rainbowsz/gay pride makes me ME of the lover era were misinterpreted, used for marketing/promo, or Taylor is just a dumb bitch (affectionate)? Or some combo ?
I honestly don’t think it was nearly as overt as Gaylors do but it wasn’t not there. Did no one who worked with/for her point out this might be a little suggestive given how she had trained fans to do the Easter egging nonsense?
I think a combo of all of the above: Taylor is a dumb bitch for sure (v affectionate), GAY 🌈🌈🌈 like she did it absolutely does sell in pop and I do think it most likely increased her queer man following substantially (she’s still not as beloved by that community as many other female pop stars) and obvs her queer woman following (which she courted with shit like the lover bestie necklace thingie so that wasn’t accidental), and obvi got misinterpreted to a point because like we all see what we wanna see lol and we all project stuff onto media we see.
I also frankly don’t think Taylor would care if someone said “this is in poor taste” because 1) no one would ever say that to her in person because as I said she’s surrounded by yes men and wtf would Scott, Andrea and Joe know what is and isn’t poor taste in the queer community 2) fwiw Todrick was super on board and I’m sure she was like “ok cool so the gays™️ think this is awesome” so if like idk Cara D was like “this looks like a bi wig r u sure you wanna wear one” Taylor would be like “yeah it’s so cool we’re doing all the flags Todrick loves that idea” and Cara in 2019 would likely be like “mmkay do you have ❄️ here or must I call my guy” lol. She did get pushback on it from media but she wasn’t that online at the time and also did ditch that marketing shortly after so maybe she did realize it was a bit off.

OMG SO GLAD U ASKED TEEHEE ill give the condensed rundown (pls note not everything might b 100% accurate bc im spit balling from memory BUT its still fun to think n research more bout) ((double also also , im only looking at like mainline console releases or media relating to mainline games, w the exception of movie sonic, sonic boom, and prime bc i NEED to talk about it))
so here's a REAL TLDR of like the notes in my head:
1. the concept of cool hinges on both being a deviation of societal norms but also following trends as well
2. the definition of cool is constantly changes bc what's once a societal abnormality becomes the norm and so cool must evolve
3. this is largely through a western/American lens of what cool is because sonic was marketed and geared towards American audiences
4. early sonic is like peak 90s cool with the attitude and the radical counter culture behavior, he's based on like the core idea of what cool is
5. early 3d sonic (3d blast, SA1 + 2, and partially heroes) cool is hinged on the cool of technological advancements (ie 3d) and how to use 3d and showing off characters and stories in 3d
6. Whatever is cool to an older audience, will always be seen as cool to kids (ie gear marketing to teens, the kids will follow bc they see the teens as cool)
6. Shadow the hedgehog: largely a need to fill in the coolness of 3d shooters that were prominent at the time, shooters are cool to kids, essentially filling in the void of accessibile shooters (and untapped market) to kids
6.5 sonic 06: again over arching storylines and melodrama become cool as well or at least become prominent in games , obv this was essentially meant to become the new face of what sonic is and what sonic is as a brand (we all know how that turned out)
7. The sonic storybook games: shaky footing as to what cool is and instead of making sonic an enjoyable icon first and letting the cool come second, theres still a need to make sonic cool first a priority, manifests into making sonic become a werehog and having combat similar to God of War and other similar styled games not usually acceptable to kids, or giving him a sword, similar idea to shadow the hedgehog
8. 2010s - 2019s: ok so this era is so complicated as to what cool is bc so much happens that I gotta like break it down into sub categories
a. Sonic Colors: leans more into the absurd of sonic w the campy dialogue but simple premise (beginnings of being self aware as a form of cool)
b. Generations: again adding onto that self awareness as being a form of cool, trying to find a balance between celebration and being campy
c. Lost World: honestly I need to research more bc I never played lost world akdksldlfm
d. Forces VS Mania (yes I skipped boom bc its gonna get into its own point): forces again looks towards like the coolness of the multiverse that's popping up and the combination of melodrama VS mania returning to the original games and rather than following what's cool as a trend, simply let's it follow and come through in the attitude of sonic as a character rather than a brand
9. SONIC BOOM (both the game and the TV series): whew,,, ok,,, boom was meant to be as like another soft reboot of sorts with it being given a TV show, now a lot of what boom sees as cool is very self aware/self depreciating humor that came as a result of the low ratings of the games that came out before, and the combination of meme culture, and sonic in general as a brand was super self depreciating at this time and this is clearly seen in boom and especially the show where its meant to laugh at itself and that is "cool", essentially trying to get into the punchline before anyone else can
10. THE SONIC MOVIES: ok the reason I'm bringing this up is mostly to compare it to boom because it doesn't try to be cool or rather making sonic cool isn't the priority but rather making him a fleshed out character with growth as this is a theatrical release and likely many peoples first connection with sonic, so rather than make sonic cool, it simply allows sonic to be cool on the premise that it's a blue hedgehog with powers, like there's so much more confidence in sonic as a concept that it doesn't need to try to be cool
this is also seen in like the fact sonic is coded to be a preteen vs an older teenager, bc remember point 6? preteen age is not usually an age that defines what cool is, its usually the trend followers rather than the trend setters, he's just meant to be a kid to makes silly references and flosses but sonic is still cool because of how humanized he becomes and so we are drawn to sonic in the movie and cheer for him when he wins and has his action moments bc we are invested in sonic as a character vs a brand idea
10.5: tangential point here but id love to discuss how a lot of what is seen as cool stems from black culture and how the sonic movie seems to celebrate that wholeheartedly
11. the future (prime and frontiers): ik prime has been described as well as another take on an origin story for sonic (iirc) where he learns to use his powers and what it means to be a hero so I feel confident that sega/sonic team are starting to realize that they don't need to force coolness into sonic but rather allow the premise of an alien hedgehog who can run at the speed of sound be enough to stand on its own and focus on developing sonic as a character so that the audience feels invested in his highest of highs and we then see sonic as cool and I hope frontiers is good so my hypothetical thesis could have a sexy conclusion to wrap up too
