what's the threshold theory

There was a post about how Tom is the only crew member who isn't really affected by the Borg, and there's a theory that he has so much luck because he saw the past and the future when he crossed the transwarp threshold. He saw the past and the future, all of time and space. There's some subconscious part of him that remembers that experience. In fact, Tom refused to play a part in Chakotay indulging Annorax's temporal incursions, probably because a part of him knew nothing good could come of it.

If we extend that same theory to Janeway, some of her wild luck with time travel and other crack plans starts to make sense. She doesn't verbally hate time travel until after the events of Threshold, since it happens in Time and Again without complaint. Janeway has an uncanny knack for time travel, as evidenced every time she deals with it. She hates time travel, but it might be because part of her knows exactly how to manipulate the timeline. She manages to avoid the "inevitable" temporal explosion in Future's End, saving both Voyager and Braxton. She resets the entire timeline in Year of Hell, and no one else followed her reasoning. She pulled it off flawlessly. In Relativity, she senses the incidents are all related, despite it being just one reading that connects them. By the time she's involved, she has a temporal incursion factor of .0036 and a time travel protocol named after her, even if that may just be Braxton's personal grudge. Then there's Endgame, where she intentionally changes the timeline. Up until this point, she has been dragged into time travel, but for the first time, she jumps in on purpose. How does Admiral Janeway know how to get them home sooner in a way that completely avoids the Temporal Integrity Commission? It's because she has seen all of time, and part of her knows exactly what needs to happen so she can get Voyager home and do it in a way that becomes baked into the prime timeline. Maybe she doesn't consciously remember what happened during her transformation, but the experience lives in her mind somewhere, guiding her decisions.

a/n : omg a double upload from user babysungs :o my brain was going crazy about writing this part and i coukdnt help myself!! bit of a longer written chapter but i think its worth it :) i didnt edit it too much so i hope there arent many mistakes!! enjoy :)

Opening the door to the restaurant you were expecting many more people than there were, only seeing two people, but you supposed that it was for the better. Big crowds werent really your thing anyway.

I guess its to be expected, you were here about thirty minutes earlier than you were supposed to be. He was probably just leaving his apartment. Still, you couldnt help but be weary at the fact that he hadnt bothered to read your message.

Thirty minutes. Thirty minutes had gone by without a single message from changbin. Surely he should be here soon, unless he wasnt planning on coming at all. You were confused and a tiny bit hurt, failing miserably at not jumping to conclusions way too early. Were you being stood up? Could you even be stood up if this wasnt a date? Had he found out about your affection towards him and now wants to make a joke out of you? What exactly was going o-

Ding.

The door had opened. You looked up in anticipation, praying desperately to see Changbin walk through the clear glass door that you had been watching like a hawk for the longest thirty minutes of your life.

… Jisung? you thought to yourself

Great, first you get stood up then the one person who manages to make you feel like shit at every encounter shows up. Just fucking great.

“What are you doing here?” Jisung questions, putting an emphasis on the “you” as if you werent allowed to eat in public. “Waiting for your little boyfriend I assume.”

“What? What boyfriend?” You had never been more confused in your life. Since when did you have a boyfriend?

“Yeah. Your boyfriend. Changbin?”

You couldn’t help but become a bit flushed at the thought of Changbin bein considered your boyfriend, though it like would never happen.

“Jisung what the fuck are you talking about right now? Changbin is not my boyfriend” you shoot back starting to get annoyed.

“Oh dont act like you two arent together. I should have known since the first day I saw you guys on a date at that stupid cafe.” Jisung was also starting to get annoyed. How could you and Changbin keep denying your relationship when he had seen it for himself?

“Dude we had JUST met that day. We didnt even know each other”

“Yeah I call bullshit but sure.”

“Okay you know fucking what Jisung-“ you started, completely ready to rip the taller brunette to shreds at this point though you were interrupted.

“Alright calm down lets not overreact please.” That voice was all too familiar.

“Changbin??? What the fuck are you doing here I thought you were standing me up!” you were completely enraged at this point. Not only had Jisung riled you up but now Changbin was standing here acting as if he hadnt kept you waiting for what felt like hours?

“Y/n, I didnt stand you up I promise,” Changbin starts, “please just let me and seungmin explain before you chop my head off.”

“Seungmin what the fuck dude??” Jisung was equally as stunned and not-so-equally as enraged as you were.

“Ji just shut up and listen to Changbin please.”

Everyone got quiet allowing Changbin the floor to explain what kind of weird misunderstanding they were in now.

“You and Y/n have some weird beef with each other that you need to talk about. I think you both have some misconceptions about each other and you need to work them out now because constantly being in the middle of this is so tiring. I hate fighting with either of you to defend the other when both of you are my closest friends.”

Friends. Right. The word stings in your chest as you had almost forgotten what you were to Changbin. His friend, nothing more nothing less.

“Oh whatever you cant force me to talk to them.” Jisung spits, pulling you out of your own head.

“Trust me I dont want to be here more than you do.”

“See. That right there. It needs to stop” Changbin continues visibly aggravated, “youre both staying here until you can work out whatever weird fucking tension there is between you.”

Changbin and Seungmin walk towards the door leaving you and a very confused and peeved Jisung standing closer than you realize at first.

“We’re locking you in. Please try talk it out and try to get along” Changbin says as hes locking the door.

“Where did you even get the key???”

“I rented the place out for a day. Good luck!” He throws two thumbs up and walks away with Seungmin.

Great.

“Dickheads” Jisung mutters under his breath, “why do I have to be stuck here with you.”

Now you were seriously getting upset. It wasnt even anger, just pure sadness at the fact that one of your biggest idols, the man you looked up to and loved most out of any musician to walk the earth, hated you so much he regarded you amongst the trash of the earth. He held such disdain for you and you had no idea why.

“Jisung. Why do you hate me so much? What have I done?” you ask desperately trying not to let the tears slip

“Are you serious?” he scoffs, until he looks at you and sees the deadly serious expression on your exhausted face. “.. Fine. I hate you because not only did you completely ignore my existence when Changbin first brought you to the studio, you also stole him from us. He stopped hanging out with us to hang out with you all the time until I called him out for it. I get youre his partner but fucks sake he needs to make time for his best friends and music partners too.”

Jisung watched as your face went from serious to utterly confused when he started explaining. It mad him even more mad at you, how could you be such a terror in his life and act like you dont know anything about it?

“I think Changbin was right when he said there were big misunderstandings between us.” Jisung scoffed loudly at your start, not believing you for a second. “Jisung let me finish before you blow everything im about to say off. Please.”

You saw Jisungs expression change as he settled himself into the booth you were both sitting at. “Alright fine. Go ahead.”

“Thank you. For starters, I didnt ignore you. I said hi to you and tried to talk to you several times but you either just didnt answer or couldnt hear me. But I tried really hard to make conversation and get to know you, I would never in a million years pass up the chance to befriend my favorite musician in the world”

Jisung did not expect those words to come out of your mouth in a million years. He could feel his heartbeat pick up a bit, choosing to ignore it as if it werent happening. “And Im not dating Changbin. At all. We’re honestly just good friends and even if i were dating him, strong if, I would never take up all of his time especially when I know how important your friendship is and how busy you guys get. That is not the type of person I am at all and maybe you could never come to like me or be friends with me but please dont think of me so harshly. I really didnt mean to make you feel that way about me. Im sorry.”

He was dumbfounded. Truly blown away at the fact that he was so quick to judge you and hate you for something that was completely his fault, and that you were the one who felt bad and even apologized. Jisung realized what an asshole he had been to someone who did not deserve it in the slightest.

“Y/n I-“ you quickly cut him off, not prepared to be berated by him again.

“Please dont say anything I understand you dont like me but I cant take-“

“Let me finish.” Jisung had gently rested his hand on your forearm, which had been laying on the table. His hands were so soft and he was holding your arm so tenderly- wait. Why is your heart racing so fast? He noticed your flushed face and eyes that kept glancing at his hand on you and he couldnt help but smile to himself a bit.

You nodded your head, signaling to Jisung that he could continue.

“I was going to say Im sorry. I had no idea that I was the problem this whole time and treated you so badly for nothing. Truthfully I felt bad about being mean to you because I thought you actually could be nice but I was stubborn and felt like you deserved my hate. I am so sorry.”

“Oh … its okay. Thank you for apologizing.” Your voice had gone quiet, not expecting Jisung to be so warm and kind to you. You tried relentlessly to ignore the roaring butterflies in your stomach.

“Of course. So ..” the man started, smiling to himself a bit, “your favorite musician in the whole world huh?”

Shit. You didnt even realize you said that. You could feel his confidence dripping from that stupid smirk on his face.

“Pffft whaaaat who said that that wasnt me I dont even know you who are you again?”

“Yeah okay whatever at least I have something to brag to Changbin about when we leave here.” he laughs, “Friends?“

Jisung mentally curses himself for sticking his hand out when he feels the warmth from yours meet him in the middle, the motion only making his heart beat faster. He prayed desperately hoping you couldnt hear it thumping out of his chest.

“Friends.”

You both shake on it with smiles, both trying to ignore that fluttering feeling in your chests growing bigger the longer you held hands.

Though neither of you would never admit this, you both were overthinking the rest of your time together waiting for Changbin and Seungmin to get back with the keys. You kept on with your conversation, talking about any and everything to keep yourselves from dying of boredom and hunger, but neither of you knew that the other was having the same thoughts deep in the back of their minds.

oh ye of great coswave knowledge do you have any ramblings or headcanons to share today (im horribly coswave deficient)

ITS LIKE A WEEK LATER BUT HERE, COSWAVE RAMBLINGS UPON YE DURING THESE TRYING TIMES

Soundwave associates food with comfort and security because of his time in the Dead End where Ravage (as well as Buzzsaw and Laserbeak, but usually by order of Ravage) did the majority of finding energon and keeping Soundwave fed (to the point where ravage would sacrifice her rations to keep soundwave fed because he’s much bigger than her and needed more energy). Then, when he joined the Decepticons it became his job to make sure his cassettes were fueled (now Soundwave was the one who sacrificed rations in order to make sure all his cassettes had fuel).

SO. Soundwave associates fuel with love and comfort because that was a key part of showing his cassettes that he loves them bc and vice versa .

Wartime is over, Soundwave has his station where he makes sure everyone has enough fuel, and Cosmos has been freshly added to the list of mechs Soundwave cares about very much.

Soundwave starts preparing Cosmos’ morning energon at the beginning of every cycle. He always makes sure cosmos has his energon, and once they start sharing a hab he makes sure he’s the first up to make the energon for them (on the rare chance he’s not up first, Cosmos waits until he’s up to prepare the energon. That’s Soundwave’s special thing—if Cosmos tries to do it, Soundwave gets stressed at the change in routine. Soundwave struggles with verbal displays of affection, so he is very serious about displaying his love though acts of service) He sees food as comfort and warmth and security and that is everything he wants to give Cosmos.

Eventually, Cosmos started bringing Soundwave a bit of fuel during the day when he seems tired to return the special gesture of love (an added bonus, it does wonders for his health. Soundwave has never been properly fueled in his life, so he has always been on the leaner side. Once Cosmos starts bringing him small amounts of fuel during the day, Soundwave begins to noticeably look much healthier and filled out).

Request: Hello! Are you still doing ROTTMNT requests? If you are can you please do jealous headcanons for the turtles or mud dogs? Or both? I really like your style and stories btw ♡

A/N: My god, I finally watched the movie after a year of it being out. I blame college & work. We do a little trolling ♡ Turtles in this one!

Includes: Raphael, Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo

Leonardo

7/10 at worst, 2/10 at best.

Leo is… complicated. He’s not possessive by any means, and he trusts you a lot! But he lives to be in the spotlight (ESPECIALLY when it comes to you). So when your attention is taken away from him, he gets a bit huffy. Like come on babe, they can’t be that funny.

But usually, that’s as far as it goes. He’ll usually just come up and throw an arm around your shoulders, make a few goofy, Leo-esque quips here and there. He’s a pretty friendly guy, and he’s honestly more likely to make friends with the other person… so long as they’re not crossing any boundaries.

But when someone’s actively hitting on you? That’s when he gets jealous. He doesn’t like to talk about it often, but he’s really insecure. I mean, that’s why he acts the way he does all the time: He doesn’t want to be forgotten, doesn’t want to be seen as useless, or incompetent. There’s a quiet part of him that thinks you deserve better, and that it's only a matter of time before you realize it. That voice gets damn-near deafening in moments like these. (Nevermind the whole mutant thing. What he wouldn’t give to take you out to your favorite restaurant top-side, or bask in the sunshine with you, or meet your friends-)

So yeah, people hitting on you freaks him the hell out. He tries not to show it, so instead he kicks up the PDA to 11.

Arm around the shoulders, obnoxious kisses to the cheek, etc. He tries to play it off nonchalantly, while still showing off that hey, you’re spoken for.

“Hey baby, been looking for you everywhere. So, what’re we talking about?”

Please kiss him later and talk it out. He trusts you so much, but he’s terrified that someday he’s not going to be enough anymore. A little bit of reassurance goes a long way though, and he’ll be back to his goofy self almost immediately afterwards.

(Jealousy with his brothers is different, but only by a little bit. That’s when he decides to show off his physical prowess and such, and dials the PDA up to a casual 14. The PDA dial is broken off the damn station, with him. He doesn’t hold any hard feelings over this regardless, he just likes to show off that you’re his. Dork.)

Raphael

Raphael is big on communication, and he trusts you immeasurably. It’s honestly really hard to make him jealous! I mean, you’re the greatest person he’s ever met — it’s only natural that other people wanna be around you too, you know?

Although, it doesn’t help that he doesn’t always pick up on when people are actually hitting on you. He wants to believe in the best in people, and sometimes he doesn’t pick up on when people are being just a little too friendly.

But if someone points it out, or if you seem uncomfortable? Raph has entered Protective Boyfriend Mode.

If someone is making you uncomfortable… he knows he’s big, and he’s not above squaring his shoulders back a bit in a silent, knock-it-the-fuck-off threat. If they keep pushing boundaries, he’s not afraid to make a scene.

Now if they’re just flirting? There’s a very quiet voice of insecurity in the back of his mind (Raph hates being alone, after all), but he pushes it down in order to hang out near you, and hold your hand. He trusts you to shut down the advances yourself, but if you don’t feel comfortable with speaking up, he’s pretty okay at finding an exit for the situation.

By which I mean, stumbling over his words, screaming, or hustling out of there. Sometimes all at once.

He’s not very subtle, unfortunately.

Any insecurities he’s got can be soothed over with a bit of love and communication, but in all honesty, it’s rarely ever a problem for you two.

(Jealousy with his brothers is different. Again, it’s a rare occurrence, but when it happens he gets very whiny. The couch, and your ribcage, have been crushed by a whining snapping turtle. RIP.)

Donatello

Jealousy central. He would rather die than admit it, but he is the most insecure member of the family. He’s confident, sure, but that can come crashing down at the drop of a hat. He craves praise, and he always feels like he has to earn his keep, in a sense. If he isn’t the best, then he’s nothing. You’re one of the few people that indulge him in his interests fully, and see him as he is. And he can never express just how much he values that!

When someone else captures your attention, he’s pretty blaise about it. He’s confident, maybe to the point of not really caring about said person. Like okay, they’re kind of bland, but whatever. Nowhere near as cool as him, uh huh. Good on you for taking the time out of your day to entertain the masses, my love. The peons need to keep up hope, I suppose.

But when someone’s actually flirting with you? Oh, oh boy.

He’s not big on PDA. He just isn’t. But he’ll make an exception, loosely intertwining your fingers with his. It isn’t much to outsiders, but it's huge for him.

Usually, it ends there. But if it doesn’t?

He gets pouty, and passive aggressive. Not necessarily towards you, but sometimes that bleeds through a bit without him realizing it. Loudly typing on his phone until the other person gets the hint, rolling his eyes, the verbal scoff, etc.

If he’s really jealous, he’s not above removing the two of you from the situation entirely. Something about a project that really needs to be finished — the fate of New York depends on it!

He’s still a bit pouty when you get home, but he’ll deny any feelings of jealousy vehemently. Kiss along his shoulders, offer to play his guilty-pleasure game with him, and dedicate the night to him. When it gets late in the night, and the two of you are wrapped up in each other, he might confide in you that he’s just afraid that someday you’ll realize you don’t need him anymore. In hushed whispers, he’ll bear his heart to you. Listen to him, give him all the praise he’s been deprived of his whole life, and tell him that you love him.

He won’t mention it in the morning, but make no mistake — he’ll carry that memory with him until the sun burns out.

(Jealousy with his brothers is a completely different story. He is so above them in his mind that its hardly even worth the energy, but he’s not above a little showboating. Oh, who is he kidding? He loves showing off. And he’ll take any excuse to hit Leo over the head with his staff.)

Michelangelo

1/10

Michelangelo, despite the occasional homicidal tendencies, is a very social guy. He really only gets jealous if you’re laughing with someone else — not because you’re not allowed to, but because he likes being the one to make you laugh.

He doesn’t take it too personally, though. Hell, 9 times out of 10 he ends up making friends with the other person!

On the rare occasion he actually starts feeling some genuine jealousy, it’s all smoothed over by communication later on. He might get a bit pouty in the moment, but once its all over, he’s got a powerpoint presentation loaded on how it made him feel, why he felt that way, etc. Communication is everything, baby.

(Jealousy with his brothers, though? He turns into a total brat. Flopping at your feet, whining, etc. There’s very little genuine emotion in it though, he just does it to get a laugh out of you.)
