ITS LIKE A WEEK LATER BUT HERE, COSWAVE RAMBLINGS UPON YE DURING THESE TRYING TIMES

Soundwave associates food with comfort and security because of his time in the Dead End where Ravage (as well as Buzzsaw and Laserbeak, but usually by order of Ravage) did the majority of finding energon and keeping Soundwave fed (to the point where ravage would sacrifice her rations to keep soundwave fed because he’s much bigger than her and needed more energy). Then, when he joined the Decepticons it became his job to make sure his cassettes were fueled (now Soundwave was the one who sacrificed rations in order to make sure all his cassettes had fuel).

SO. Soundwave associates fuel with love and comfort because that was a key part of showing his cassettes that he loves them bc and vice versa .

Wartime is over, Soundwave has his station where he makes sure everyone has enough fuel, and Cosmos has been freshly added to the list of mechs Soundwave cares about very much.

Soundwave starts preparing Cosmos’ morning energon at the beginning of every cycle. He always makes sure cosmos has his energon, and once they start sharing a hab he makes sure he’s the first up to make the energon for them (on the rare chance he’s not up first, Cosmos waits until he’s up to prepare the energon. That’s Soundwave’s special thing—if Cosmos tries to do it, Soundwave gets stressed at the change in routine. Soundwave struggles with verbal displays of affection, so he is very serious about displaying his love though acts of service) He sees food as comfort and warmth and security and that is everything he wants to give Cosmos.

Eventually, Cosmos started bringing Soundwave a bit of fuel during the day when he seems tired to return the special gesture of love (an added bonus, it does wonders for his health. Soundwave has never been properly fueled in his life, so he has always been on the leaner side. Once Cosmos starts bringing him small amounts of fuel during the day, Soundwave begins to noticeably look much healthier and filled out).

(Based off of this post! TFP Soundwave, IDW Sunstreaker, IDW First Aid, IDW Ravage, and IDW Cosmos have all been asked for! Feel free to send in an ask for any character that isn't one of these five 🌸❗️Not limited to followers or mutuals, so go wild!)

First Impression: Oh shit, First Aid! I read MTMTE before I read most of IDW, and I was fucking stoked to see him appear in the Delphi arc- ESPECIALLY with how he was introduced with his report that doubled as the issue's intro narration. Aside from that, though, I didn't focus on him much during my first read-through. Pharma and Ambulon immediately stole the show away from him, and it wasn't until my second read a few months later that I really focused on Aid. Aside from being happy to see him, I LOVED how he was drawn in MTMTE. He's always been cute, but something with how he was drawn in the first half of MTMTE really cemented for me that he has one of the best designs. He somehow manages to be boxy and round at the same time and I love him for it.

Impression Now: You are ENTIERLY responsible for how much First Aid means to me now, I hope you know this. One of my top ten IDW faves. His design remains one of my favorites, and I wish we got more canon content digging into his POV of things pre-mutiny. I wish he stayed on the Lost Light instead of being called away, too! There is so much focus on Ratchet passing over the title of CMO to First Aid, but then Aid leaves so quickly after. Idk, I wish we just got to see him more pre-mutiny. Aid is such a tragic character to me but he's another background tragedy and it makes me want to shake my screen a bit when I think about him. A somewhat vaguely odd thing to say, but I wish we got to see more of First Aid's grief over Ambulon and his feelings towards Pharma. Honestly I wished we got to see more interactions between Aid and the rest of the medical cast in general- including Ratchet, Velocity (ESPECIALLY Lotty (is not biased)), and Rung.

Favorite Moment: Speaking of Pharma, my favorite moment of First Aid is this one right here:

I think Aid should be shown like this more often. I NEED him to be angry. I need him to be murderous. As a treat for myself. I hate the idea in media where the good guys refuse to kill a villain because they'd be "letting the villain win". It's good to see that narrative challenged by Aid here.

... Even if the consequences aren't easily forgotten.

Idea for a Story: Someone put First Aid and Rung into a therapy appointment, I need to pick their interactions apart under a microscope. I do not thing going to Rung would be able to help Aid. In fact, it might just make an already shitty situation worse. But I want to see First Aid sit down and talk about what he is experiencing. And maybe I want to see Rung unintentionally making his grieving process more difficult. We already know from Rung's own admission in Lost Light that he does not know who he is without his patients. He banks his entire identity and self-worth on trying to assist other people. But what happens when nothing he does seems to help First Aid, and therefore his own self-image begins to crumble for it? How does his own perceived failings affect his treatment of First Aid?

Unpopular Opinion: 🤔 Not sure if I have one. I'm allergic to the idea of Aid being really nice and nervous 100% of the time, ig. All things considered, the First Aid we have in IDW isn't nervous at all. But I don't actually know how prevalent this is in fandom or if this is even an unpopular take 🤷‍♂️.

Favorite Relationship: Canon-wise? It's a toss up between him and Ambulon and then him and Ratchet. It is devastating how hard Aid takes Ambulon's death, and his desperation to help save Ambulon when Ratchet wouldn't let him was heartbreaking to read. At the same time, I NEED more of First Aid and Ratchet arguing with each other and Aid calling Ratchet out on his bullshit. It is rare that anyone steps up to Ratchet like that and succeeds in affecting him. I would like more, thanks.

Non-canon relationships? Another toss-up between Velocity and Ravage. Put these three in a blunt rotation, I'm sure they'll be fine.

Favorite Headcanon: First Aid is extremely tactile. There is not a word or phrase that could properly describe how touchy First Aid is. He has the capability to turn someone who is touch-starved to touched-out in the span of thirty minutes. While this is in part due to just him being an affectionate person in general (or at the very least, more physically affectionate than most other Autobots), it is also partially because of his intense focus on Autobot brands. He is so used to checking everyone he comes across for their brands in the case that they might have a bullet shot through them that the process of checking someone over is compulsive. This extends to people who fall outside of the Autobot ranks who do not even have brands, like Ravage, Cyclonus, and Ten. It's earned him more than a few strange looks and awkward silences over the course of being on the Lost Light.

Relationships Headcanon in the Ark & Nemesis

- Ratchet, Velocity, First Aid, and Minerva bitch about everybody after a long day. They have a group chat called Tired Medics

-Bumblebee, Rodimus, and Windblade act like siblings.

- Jazz and Blaster are best friends and they have a very strong friendship, very supportive of each other’s relationships with Prowl and Soundwave respectively… despite sometimes worrying about each other’s happiness.

- Bumblebee, Jazz, Blaster, Blurr, and Mirage are also hang out a lot as their jobs connect together and they are often giggling together.

- Rodimus, Springer, Blurr, and Arcee are conjoined together and have their own little friend group.

- Perceptor, Nautica, Brainstorm, Wheeljack, Greenlight, Lancer, and Skyfire are a chaotic bunch and you should run if they are in the lab together… especially when it’s Brainstorm and Wheeljack.

- Ratchet and Wheeljack are amiable exes who raised Dino bots together.

- Blaster, Windblade, Bumblebee, Sandstorm, Blurr, Cosmos, and Lightbright sigh over the fact that the love of their lives are the enemies… Soundwave, Starscream, Blitzwing, Octane, Swindle, Blast Off, and Sparkstalker think of them often.

- Same group of cons are glaring daggers at Breakdown and Knockout whenever the couple are canoodling.

- Cyclonus and Thundercracker bailed and are living their life with Tailgate and Marissa. Misfire and The Scavengers bailed too and Misfire canoodles with Swerve.

-The triple changers from both sides go drinking together.

- Don’t let Tracks, Powerglide, Blurr, Sunstreaker, Slingshot, and Mirage work together at Once… nothing can be achieved.

- Drift and Ratchet, Prowl and Jazz, Soundwave and Blaster, Hound and Mirage, Breakdown and Knockout, BW Silverbolt and Blackarachnia, Tracks and Raoul, Starscream and Windblade, Blitzwing and Bumblebee, Swindle and Blurr, Arcee and Greenlight, Dinobot and Optimus Primal, AND SHOCKINGLY Ultra Magnus and Rodimus are all the “PLEASE GET A ROOM” Couple.

- “Shameless but Cute” couples are Blast Off and Cosmos, Sparkstalker and Lightbright, Dust Up and Jumpstream, Powerglide and Astoria, Cyclonus and Tailgate, Road Rage and Náutica, Roadhandler and Cecelia, Skids and Charlene, Seaspray and Alana, Crankcase and Cons4Eva, Misfire and Swerve, Thundercracker and Marissa, Afterburner and Lightspeed, Octane and Sandstorm, and Tigatron and Airazor.

- First Aid has feelings for Springer and gets all flustered when he is around while Firestar stumbles and crushes hard on Velocity. Slingshot yearns for Silverbolt while there is a love triangle between Red Alert, Inferno, and Smokescreen as the two long for Inferno but Inferno loves Red Alert.

- Couples that are mostly “on the downlow and fuck like rabbits behind close doors” are BW Megatron and BW Inferno, Megaempress and Flowspade, Loudpedal and Exhaust, Perceptor and Brainstorm (but it seems mostly one sided… or is it?)

- Need “love advice”? Ask the sexiest not there is… KUP.

-Seaspray, Beachcomber, Hound, and Skids talk nature together and they with Alana and Charlene go on nature expeditions. Mirage would come but he doesn’t like getting dirty.

- Sunstreaker, Sideswipe, and Bluestreak are a chaotic bunch and are up to any antics.

- Swindle and Smokescreen drunkly gambled together… once… no one knew what happened that night afterward.

- Onslaught is just tired, Vortex and Brawl share a brain cell but Blast Off holds it in tight custody.

- Grimlock enjoys spending time with the Scavengers and could be seen napping together.

- Prowl and Jazz spar a lot together. Jazz being the better fighter as Prowl can’t help but feel… drawn to it. His conjunx finds it adorable.

-Ratchet and Drift are conjunx and they practically had a los Vegas wedding, Ratchet finds it amusing and cute that Drift laments on giving him the ‘proper’ wedding,

- Rewind has bad taste in men.

- Mirage and Sunstreaker don’t like each other.

- Mirage likes to get dirty… with Hound. Poor Cliffjumper walks in on them a lot.

- Ratchet does the same with Rodimus and Ultra Magnus, Blaster with Jazz and Prowl, and Wheeljack with Ratchet and Drift. The Stunticons with Knocoout and Breakdown. Nautica HEARD Perceptor and Brainstorm but that’s it.

- Bumblebee and Windblade once asks Optimus about dating the enemy (regarding about Blitzwing and Starscream) and Optimus sighs thinks of Megatron.

- Ironhide would fuck Optimus in a heart beat. Chromia would gladly sleep with Elita One.

- Thunderclash has a crush on Rodimus but it’s one sided… my poor man.

- Rodimus thinks it’s a bit funny, adorable, and amusing Springer’s sheer obliviousness but tells him to keep his eyes out for potential lovers… you’d be surprise who you might fall in love. *nudges First Aid*.

-Fort Max and Cerebros comfort Red Alert and try to figure put how to help him woo Inferno.

- Mirage has an amusing relationship with Sideswipe… a good one though.

- Arcee and Lancer don’t get along. Greenlight is sighing heavily in the back as her conjunx and ex glare daggers at each other.

- Hardhead, Brainstorm, and Highbrow are estranged and talk trash about each other behind each other’s backs.

- Tracks, Road Rage, Loud Pedal, and Needlenose talk trash about each other too while Raoul and Nautica stare nervously at Exhaust and Horri Bull as they glance suspiciously at each other.

- Raoul, Astoria, Marissa, Cecelia, and Charlene are all beside Alana and Cons4Eva and sighing heavily at the chaos.

Soundwave

HELL YEAHHHH THE BOYYY. oh god picking a favorite version of him is honestly so hard, he genuinely steals the show in whatever he's in. cyberverse said "actually soundwave is the main character of transformers" and they were so right for that like i genuinely think my fave continuity for him is a three-way tie between g1, tfp, and earthspark g1 i love because...it's the og. he has such a soothing, satisfying voice to listen to, could legit listen to him read aloud the phone book and i'd be happy. i really wish other continuities went that heavy on the filters tbh because when g1 did it you got some truly unique voices out of it, and soundwave's is absolutely the most iconic one tfp purely because of uniqueness. there really never has been a TF character QUITE like TFP Soundwave, it's such a DIFFERENT and unique take on the character and on a TF in general; the flat long arms, the screen-face, the tentacles, him being essentially mute and communicating via playing back recordings (...ok bee also does that in some things but i'm sorry but its just better when soundwave does it). his overall silhouette and the fact that laserbeak is a part of his armor. tfp leans so much into the idea that Soundwave is an omnipresent, intimidating figure. I would be scared of TFP Soundwave and I genuinely can't say that about a lot of TF characters oddly enough and then Earthspark because...again, a very pleasing voice to listen to. you have no idea how often i watched the one episode he had in the first batch of episodes just to hear the like 3 lines he had LOL. there is just 🤏something about his delivery of "it already is." and "autobot scum" that really scratches my brain JUST right you know. also really good design, i am not immune to TFs with incredibly snatched waists uhh my favorite ship with him now...honestly that's hard, bc i don't really actively ship him with anyone? i guess either megasound or soundstar, megasound because of That Good Devotion stuff or soundstar bc i love them being petty assholes that hate each other but also can't resist each other LOL. soundwave/cosmos is also very cute but i don't think i've read the comic that they're in yet

🏷 Is there a tag you like to search for when looking for fanfics to read?

I normally directly search whatever character/pairing I'm looking for, and tags i'll include/exclude directly correlate to how many fics the subject has (like, if I was looking for Jazz/Prowl I could be much more picky about filtering fics than if I was looking for Cosmos/Prowl). If I have the choice I normally go by exclusion rather than inclusion.

Astrotrain vs. Blaster Astrotrain. I will never marry someone who wants to kill Soundwave, and I like to travel in style.

Bluestreak vs. Skids Skids, because he would learn everything you need him to know about you.

Blurr vs. Misfire Misfire, because he's an incredibly sweet person, and he also won't come 3 times before you do and then pass out.

Brainstorm vs. Nightbeat Nightbeat, because I feel that he would try “telling you he’s interested in you” before resorting to building a time machine and trying to kill Megatron.

Breakdown vs. Ten Breakdown; they're both himbos but Breakdown is less insistent on getting his way and communicates better.

Bumblebee vs. Chromedome For my sanity I am going with Bumblebee, provided he is not the asshole Bumblebee from either Earthspark or TFA. I do not want to die horribly and then become Episode 5 of “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind” and also I don’t approve of mnemosurgery and Chromedome is also the guy who tried to lobotomise Soundwave at the Institute so fuck that guy.

Cosmos vs. Crankcase Crankcase. While he is not nearly as “nice” as Cosmos, he also knows what he likes and wants and does not retract his trust at the first sign of trouble.

Cyclonus vs. Dominus Ambus Cyclonus, because he can fall in love with people who are not his slaves. I also don’t trust anyone who can blend in with the DJD enough to work with them for years and years before getting caught. He wasn’t a medic like Nickel. He had to do that job.

Censere vs. Megatron Censere, because he is kind, and also because Megatron is still obsessed with  Orion Pax and would only be fun to marry if you could get both of them.

Depth Charge vs. Ultra Magnus Depth Charge knows what fun is and can even say the word without flinching.

Dinobot vs. Ratchet Ratchet, because he has an unerring moral compass and takes care of what he loves.

First Aid vs. Perceptor This is a difficult choice because I love science guys. In the end I chose Perceptor. I think First Aid would find me rather vanilla. If you’re more like Tex than me, though, Aid is your mech.

Fulcrum vs. Blitzwing The real question here is “how many husbands do you actually want?” I think polyandry could be fun, but not with the Three Faces of Blitzwing.

Hoist vs. Drag Strip Drag Strip. At least he's pretty.

Impactor vs. Mixmaster Mixmaster, because I’d rather have a husband who makes things, than a husband whose goal in life is to break things as impressively and thoroughly as possible, which is what Impactor does; also, he grew up in a mine with Megatron and he still joined the Autobots, wtf.

Knock Out vs. Powerglide Knock Out, because he moved to another planet to make his conjunx happy.

Meteorfire vs. Alpha Trion Meteorfire, because he knows how to have fun and can just say what he means.

Optimus Prime vs. Soundwave If you think there’s anyone I would choose over Soundwave you haven’t been reading this blog very long. If you think OP has a chance over Soundwave, you have clearly just now arrived here through tags or “recommended for you”.

Optimus Primal vs. Drift Drift, because he's so fucking beautiful, and even when he’s a wreck, he’s interesting.

Prowl vs. Swerve Swerve is sweet and will binge TV with me. Prowl thinks All Cops Are Bastards is an ideal to aspire to.

Rattrap vs. Starscream Starscream, because Starscream would be a difficult husband, but he’s an even more difficult boss, and you probably don’t want to deal with being married to someone who actually works for him.

Rewind vs. Hot Shot Hot Shot is entertaining. Also, if I disappear, I want my husband to hire the best detective in the universe, not watch snuff films obsessively to see if I am in them.

Rung vs. Predaking Predaking, because dragons are that fucking cool.

Rodimus Prime vs. Cheetor Rodimus, because Cheetor’s executive function is even worse than his, and I do not need any help making rash decisions, losing track of time and getting sidetracked.

Sky-Byte vs. Swindle I’m going with king shark here. Sky-Byte would write you poetry and pay for your dates. I feel like Swindle would be hot in a sleazy way and a great candidate for the fuck thing rather than the marry thing, but Sky-Byte would feed your ego and I would like that a lot.

Snarl vs. Shockwave Snarl. Unless you really want to be one of Shockwave’s experiments.

Spinister vs. Bulkhead A difficult choice. Bulkhead is stable and caring but Spinister is endlessly entertaining.

Star Saber vs. Smokescreen Smokescreen, because he doesn't have a vibranium rod up his aft.

Tailgate vs. Jazz Jazz, because he is smooth, chill, and sexy. Tailgate is cute but not sexy. He also makes dramatic painful decisions about relationships based on his terrible self-esteem without considering his partners’ likely wishes.

Tarantulas vs. Rhinox Tarantulas, and this is 100% the fault of @breakdownsbuttlights.

Thundercracker vs. Fortress Maximus Thundercracker writes fanfiction and screenplays and he dotes on his dog. What more do you want?  Meanwhile, Fort Max was the warden at Garrus-9 before Overlord took over, and even after seeing everything that had happened to Grimlock, he still wanted to throw him back in jail when he found him with the Scavengers. And he only wanted to capture the Scavengers just because he thought they were Decepticons and therefore had to have done something wrong, and he can’t keep from petting the beastformers no matter how many times they say not to.

Wheeljack vs. Thunderclash Wheeljack is full of fun and mad science. Thunderclash is full of himself and supported Getaway’s mutiny.

Whirl vs. Tracks Tracks, because Whirl is exciting, but not in a good way, and you’re not as tough as either Cyclonus or Tailgate. Tracks is also a pretty good dancer.

Ambulon vs. Dreadwing Beachcomber vs. Rampage Fireflight vs. Quickstrike Heatwave vs. Hardshell Metroplex vs. Sideswipe Seaspray vs. Runamuck Springer vs. Skyfire Wasp vs. Chase No opinion. Campaign to me for your choice.

If we are talking Transformers, imma say Chromedome and Rewind. sure theres a lot and i mean A FUCKING LOT of angst and tragedy involved, but all the moments they are just being sickingly in love? thats sume good shit righty there.

Hummm ok so first off im gonna go with:

1) World building! I love sitting around planning out how aspects of society would work in AUs. Religions, cultures, mixing my lore in with canon lore, gender and sexuality norms and customs etc. Actually now that I think about it, world building anthropology lmao. I never really post my world building, but in high school I filled up sketchbooks expanding on the Shapeshifter people in LotR and how Magic would work with different cultures in Harry Potter that didn't use wands or magic words and I've rambled at my friends loads of times about transformers world building ideas lol

2) Angst! My therapist told me its good to write my feelings and I often projected them onto my blorbos to do so and its really cathartic. For my job (and with my family) I dont often get a lot of outlets to showcase negative feelings, so when im feeling low i tend to write, which means that a lot of my stuff has angst in it. Sometimes I'm making my characters go through my hurts or just the feelings, but either way I enjoy writing it. I'm trying to be kinder by including more happy endings or hurt/comfort, but the comfort part never feels as good to write as angst -shrug-

3) story retellings! My culture has a lot of oral storytelling, and I personally see myself as a storyteller (i teach history, which are just stories) and so I love taking a story and ploping my blorbos into it! This is why a lot of my metas/ficlets are just retellings but with something different, like a concept from my culture, or a piece of history that I really like, or a trope that I really enjoy. Sometimes they're just straight up crossover aus like my transformers/velveteen rabbit fic. Sometimes I dont get to the part where its the actual story retelling, but I've done a lot- raven steals the sun (silm deamon au), Greek tragedies (that one ficlet i have about mae and nienna actually was a retelling of achillies grief over patcrolus), The Cat Came Back (i made it that huge coswave idwxtfp crossover), etc. I got a bunch more that I forgot and/or haven't posted

4) Song Fics! I grew up on old 2000s amvs and I love spinning the blorbos in my mind while listening to something. I'm pretty sure I have adhd or something but taught myself to make up fantasy stories instead of moving around to stay still like my parents asked so I always have to have music on. Almost all my ficlets/metas/actual fics are written to the plot of 1 song, or a playlist. You can actually tell with some of them what song I was listening to lol

5) Devotion. There is something nice about writing people who just, will stay by you. Or come back because they realized they csnt be without you. Or what happens to that person when the person/thing they devoted themselves to is Gone. Maedhros/Fingon hits all my buttons for that, and so does cosmos/soundwave, and grantaire/enjolras, or remus/sirius, or steve&Robin, and I've made tracks/raoul that lol. Devotion whether its platonic or romantic im so fond of know that my characters have or has had someone that sees the world in them

Record Street Brewing, Reno NV

Summer 2022 Trip, Day 8

Last year when I was in Reno, I'd stopped at Great Basin Brewing (great beer, great food, horrible service) so of course I wanted to try somewhere different. So many choices ...

After reading about everything online, I decided on Record Street Brewing. It turns out that's in Brewery Row (or something like that) -- there are three breweries, a distillery and a mead maker within the space of two city blocks! If only my stomach were bigger ... but I was certainly happy with Record Street.

It's an industrial-style space with an attached room for events and concerts, but it really works. They do flights of either 4 or 6, and of course there's a story behind this flight of "6":

The bartender took my order without writing it down (always impressive) and when he brought the first five, he said that he had, sadly, forgotten the sixth. I was a little confused by what was there so asked him to name them, and he'd actually missed two and given me the oatmeal stout by mistake. I said that was no problem as I love that type, so I'd drop the lager and to just bring the pale ale to make up the flight. He insisted that it was his fault, so brought me both of those, and that's how I ended up with 7!

Although it doesn't really make sense based on style, for the sake of simplicity, I'll mention these left-to-right, top-to-bottom, but with the caveat that they were all something I'd drink again -- there wasn't a loser among them!

High Rollers Pale Ale - 5.2% - The bartender had said he'd ask me to pick a favorite, and in the end, this was it. And he said it was also his favorite of everything they brew! Wow, this was just a superb pale ale, absolutely something I would want to drink over and over.

Common Science Lager - 5% - Also very good, easily one to drink all day.

Devil's Haircut Brown Ale - 5.5% - An interesting name, and a very palatable yet not terrifically outstanding English Brown.

Kingston Oatmeal Stout - 6% - And this is the "mistake" of the lot, but a very tasty mistake. I do love an oatmeal stout (although prefer them in winter, not summer) and this was a very good example of that type.

Wam! Weizenbier - 4.8% - I've sort of gone off wheat beers lately as they all taste alike ... but this one stands apart. It has a slightly different quality to it that I really enjoyed, and I wouldn't ever say no to a repeat of this one!

Soundwaves NEIPA - 7% - This hazy IPA was very tasty, but as good as it was (and it certainly was good), it just couldn't quite overcome the flavor of the High Rollers.

Wam! Blood Orange - 4.8% - This is the former wheat beer with Blood Orange added, but not enough of it in my opinion. I've had a better Blood Orange at Barley's Brewing in Cleveland.

Of course, when drinking beer one has to also eat, so there was this "Cosmo" pizza with fennel sausage, roasted tomatoes, broccolini, and fresh mozzarella. It was really good but just way too much for me to finish, I'm afraid.

I had expected this to be my last-ever trip to Reno, but between the great beers at Record Street and the lure of the other establishments around it, I may have to do this drive again some year :-D

Tomorrow, I’ll arrive in Oakland where I’ll be for four nights for the wedding. There may not be any updates appearing here until Monday the 13th, but tune back in then!

TOP FIVE TRANSFORMERS SHIPS FOR VARIOUS CHARACTERS ON AO3

Based off of data pulled on 12/17/2020, because I was very very bored. I went through and pulled data on the Top 10, then chucked any ships that were under 50 stories listed. This was very quickly done, so I may have missed some data points.

MEGATRON:

Not surprised in the slightest by these results, though I did think that Megatron/Soundwave would be a bit higher of a percentage than this.

OPTIMUS PRIME:

Again, I am absolutely not shocked in the slightest. Optimus Prime/Elita One is the only M/F Ship to make the Top 5 for any of the characters I’ve looked at.

STARSCREAM:

I am, however, shocked that Megatron/Starscream is not at least 55% of this chart. I am also surprised that Starscream/Wheeljack is more popular than Starscream/Bumblebee.

PROWL:

Water is wet, the sky is blue, and Prowl is perpetually shipped with Jazz. Nothing is new here. That unlabeled orange slice at the top is Prowl/Lockdown at a whopping 2.4%, wow.

JAZZ:

Do you see that orange sliver? Do you? That’s Jazz/Sideswipe and it technically falls 4 stories short of the metrics I used to get these charts but it’s the only other Jazz ship that came close to the mark.

BUMBLEBEE:

Pretty even distribution here. Surprised that Bumblebee/Wasp or Bumblebee/Prowl didn’t meet the mark considering how popular those were when TFA came out. To note - Bumblebee is thus far the only one to have a Bot/Human pairing make the Top 5.

SOUNDWAVE:

Another pretty even distribution. Soundwave/Cosmos just barely did not make the cut, it came in 22 stories under Soundwave/Blaster.

RODIMUS:

Another pretty even distribution and very unsurprising.

DRIFT:

Oh, is Drift paired with Ratchet a lot? I did not know. How very shocking.

RATCHET:

Not really that surprising.

I’d like to think when Cosmos asks to carry Soundwave, SW says yes teasingly thinking how his little boyfriend is going to lug him around, before Cosmos undos his mass displacement and just swoops him up. When they cuddle like this Cosmos complexity dwarfs Sw and it’s like a weighted/heated blanket for him.

Soundwave isn’t used to being little so he’s very alarmed and charmed. When they cuddle Soundwave likes to wedge himself under cosmos bc cosmos is warm and heavy and soundwave likes that. He feels secure and happy

Looking for Transformers RP partners

Been looking around for peeps to roleplay some Transformers stuff with for a while now, figured I might as well just bite the bullet and make an add.

I’m f/25, looking for 18+ only, preferred 20+, semi-lit to full lit. I tend to get pretty wordy with my responses, usually multi-paragraphs, but I really prefer quality over quantity, so don’t feel like you need to match my length if you don’t want to. 

Looking for something longterm/slowburn like, with heavy focus on how the Cybertronian war actually effects character dynamics/friendships/relationships. Ships and NSFW are perfectly fine, but not necessary. I’m more than happy to discuss ideas for plot, or at least vague directions we’d like to take things. Cosmos zipped through the night sky, humming a happy little tune to himself as he went. He’d planned this night with Soundwave a week in advance and he wasn’t about to let anything get in the way, Autobot duties be damned. This was a rare opportunity to catch a sight as beautiful as what phenomena was about to hit Earth. The Autobots could deal with not having the regular reports for one night. Like anyone but Prowl would notice.

He was nearly to the place that he had agreed to meet Soundwave at. A cozy little roll of grassy hills in the upper midwest of the US. The little UFO checked the clock built into his visor. Nearly midnight. Almost show time. He hoped Soundwave was there already. He’d hate for his courted to miss out on the beginning of the show. Upon reaching the designated meeting place, Cosmos transformed and landed on the tallest hill, then looked around. Soundwave wasn’t there yet. Anxiously, he tapped his fingers together and waited.

Soundwave wouldn’t be late. It wasn’t like him. But what if something came up and he was? Or worse, he wasn’t able to make it at all? Sure, he could commit the experience to memory and let Soundwave watch it through his mind next time they met, but that wasn’t the same type of experience. A soft thud from behind him broke the nervous thoughts and made him turn to see Soundwave approaching him.

“Am I late?” He asked.

“No!” Cosmos assured hastily. “You’re just in time! Boy, but you sure had me worried.”

“I would have arrived sooner, but I had a difficult time convincing Frenzy and Rumble to sleep outside of my compartment tonight.” The communications officer glanced around curiously before redirecting his gaze back to Cosmos. “What is the plan for the evening?” He queried.

“Ah, well!” Cosmos gestured to the ground next to him, his spark pulsing with anticipation. ‘Butterflies in his stomach’ as humans would say. “If you’ll have a seat beside me? The show is about to start.”

Soundwave tilted his head slightly, but took a seat beside him as requested. He made himself comfortable as Cosmos joined him on the grass. The minibot checked the time again. A few minutes past midnight. Any moment now.

“You are nervous,” he observed.

Cosmos looked to Soundwave with surprise. It was always a little jarring that his courted could read his emotions so easily. That said, he had given Soundwave permission to use the powers that allowed him to do so, so he could hardly complain. “Maybe just a bit,” he admitted. “I’ve just been really excited for tonight.”

Soundwave took a breath as if to say something in return, only to hold that thought when a sudden bright light appeared in the sky, drawing his and Cosmos’ attention to it. They both widened their optics and made quiet sounds of wonder and awe as they took in the large curtains of dancing lights high above them. It was gorgeous. And unexpected. Who knew the Earth’s sky could hold such beauty like this? This was better than that human source described them to be.

“This is a sight to behold… Heavenly…” Soundwave whispered. “I’m trying to think of a song that could capture the beauty of this phenomenon…”

The minibot slowly turned his head toward the tape deck without taking his gaze off of the lights before finally being able to wrench it away to look to his courted. He was glad he managed to do so, else he would have missed out on the magnificence beside him. The bright greens and blues cast their light down on the bots below, making them glow with a radiance they didn’t usually have. Cosmos felt himself melt at the sight that Soundwave had become. He always looked stunning to the little UFO, but this. The lights dancing and decorating Soundwave’s armor. And though the communications officer still had his mask and visor in front of his face, Cosmos could just picture the look of amazement on his facial features beneath.

Primus, Soundwave was so beautiful… Cosmos couldn’t believe how lucky he was to have landed himself in a relationship with this mech. He really hoped the Decepticon would never wisen up and go for someone bigger than him. Better at fighting. More capable at protecting him. The little mech slowly moved his hand to rest over Soundwave’s gingerly, and was surprised when the Decepticon shifted his hand to grasp Cosmos’ firmly in return.

Soundwave left his visor down, but parted his mask and turned his head to look at his courted. A fond smile formed across his lips. “I am glad I did not miss out on this opportunity to be with you, little Cosmos. I will commit this to memory so I can look back on it again and again.”

Cosmos returned the look and shifted closer to lean against the tape deck’s side. “I’m so glad you like it. That you’re here with me…” He felt Soundwave shift to a lying down position and followed suit, only to have the larger mech pull him into a cuddle. The two gave each other a little nuzzle before turning their gazes back up to the curtains of light above. And then Soundwave finally thought of a song and began softly humming it aloud for them. If only the two of them could stay like this. Happy and away from the war. But for now, this temporary escape would have to do.

The night carried on.

Is Shockwave part of the CFau? If so, will he be getting a redesign??

He is in the AU yes, though I haven’t put too much thought into his role other than him still being a die hard con and a parent to Tremor

Shockwave is just one of the few bots still left in the high ranks to hold the Cons together outside of Lugnut and Strika (Soundwave is not with the Cons anymore;) Cosmos has smth to do w that haha) so basically he’s just tucked away in his labs pulling at the strings of the faction as best he can to keep it running—Megatron is still kicking ofc, but he underwent a Triple Changer procedure prematurely and ended up w less than ideal results.

Everyone is struggling in the last remnants of the faction. It’s leader is hardly stable anymore, and has slowly started to behave more like the trigger-happy and honorless mecha he hated the most—Megazarak. The Cons have never been more decided in both space and ideals than they have ever been, yeahh uhh,,the gang is not looking too good

BUT!! Lucky for them their beloved DJD is having a field picking off the deserters and traitors as gifts for their Lord Megatron—that and Overlord’s overtaken Garrus-9 outpost is still holding strong and well defended. The Cons may not have ALL the recourses they need at the moment, but they’ve lost a war once before and still rose up to meet their challengers and they’ll do it again no matter how many millennia this time around

2. Big spoon/Little spoon?

They switch! Usually Cosmos is the big spoon (obviously) but sometimes he wants to be held and his boyfriends are happy to oblige. It's also important to know that I have a strong and persistent mental image of Soundwave clinging to Cosmos' waist in an attempt to stop him from waking up.

6. What is their favorite feature of their partner’s?

Cosmos: There is something Very compelling (hot) about how devoted Soundwave is to sanctuary and while it's a little overwhelming, he sees a bit of that devotion directed at him, and the fact that Soundwave asked him out of all Autobots to live on sanctuary. For Prowl...Cosmos likes the bits of Prowl he sees when his guard is down (a part of him thinks he would've liked to know Prowl before the war. He might be a little jealous of Chromedome if he ever finds out they dated.) He also thinks Prowl's scars are hot.

Soundwave: Cosmos was able to put aside millions of years of war and trust him. Him! And he's witty and funny and cute and he could go on forever. Prowl's way of thinking is very attractive when it's not directed at the Decepticons. And Prowl's scars are hot.

Prowl: He likes that Soundwave is on his level! Soundwave is familiar, and he can keep up with Prowl. This is a bit deeper than either of them are aware of, but Soundwave offering him mostly-unconditional sanctuary at a time he needed it most earned Soundwave a lot of points. For Cosmos, he likes that Cosmos cares and isn't afraid to stand up to him. Part of it is motivated by the guilt he was feeling at the start of the series, but as their relationship progresses he likes that Cosmos just...mostly accepts him as he is.

Requests are open?? Sweet! Can we request a fluff scenario( that follows Coswave breeding kink ) where SW is waiting outside the medbay, and then hours later, he gets to hold his and Cosmos’s sparkling for the first time? Bonus points if there is more than one sparkling, please :3

Soundwave paces the hall of the hospital, his footsteps echo loudly in his audials as his pedes land on the white linoleum. The occasional doctor or nurse would pass by him and give him knowing smiles and reassuring gestures but that didn’t stop the worry in his spark. It didn’t matter that they were in the best hospital with the best equipment and none other than Ratchet overseeing the emergence, he still worries because his Conjunx and future sparklings are in there. He had researched and re-researched every possible outcome, every possible outcome, and every estimate for a twin emergence so he knows that now they were approaching the averaged maximum length of a standard emergence. Too much longer and there would be the risk of complication just from taking too much time to complete the emergence. He goes through his mental checklist again for what must be the twentieth time in just the past ten minutes, checking he has everything to make Cosmos comfortable during his recovery and to take care of newborn sparklings.

Soundwave paces again, going through the actual physical space of every item in their home, mapping everything out in his mind and feels a bit calmer. He stops and checks his chronometer to find it to be twenty-two minutes from the maximum average and starts pacing again. Terrible thoughts of the very worst outcome flood his mind, panic settles in as he suppresses the urge to activate his combat protocols in the middle of a hospital. Every piece of his programming is screaming at him to go in and protect his family but he knows, logically, that the doctors know exactly what they’re doing, they certainly know better than him. Even if something does go wrong there’s no way he could help. Soundwave knows communication systems, code, programming, hacking, and several alien languages but there is nothing in his repertoire that would be of any use to his family right now. Feeling defeated, he finally sits on the empty chair that had been provided for him tries to clear his mind. For the first time in a very long time, Soundwave feels completely and utterly useless.

The door opens and he looks up to find Ratchet, smiling warmly down at him, and in a moment, all the fear in Soundwave’s spark vanishes. He really is grateful that former Autobot CMO agreed to oversee the emergence for Soundwave truly believes that if any other doctor had stepped through and smiled, he would not feel the same comfort, the same assuredness that he does now. With a friendly pat on Soundwave’s back, Ratchet leads him into the room where Cosmos rests, exhausted from what Soundwave can tell from his field but undeniably happy while holding two bundles in his arms. He steps to stand by the side of the bed and embraces Cosmos in a side hug, looking down at their sparklings. They’re too young to even begin telling what their altmodes might be but he can see that they’re both a muted green with dark blue highlights and when one opens their optics to look at him, they’re a soft blue. In this very moment, he decides he’s never seen more perfect beings, more perfect transformers than his little sparklings.

“Identical twins,” Ratchet calls over with no small amount of mirth, “that’ll be tricky. You won’t be able to tell them apart half the time and they’ll always be getting some kind of trouble together.”

Soundwave shakes his helm, reaching down to pick up on of his sparklings from Cosmos. He can feel the quiet in this one, how all they wish to do is listen and rest while they’re sibling wants nothing more than to be able to walk already so they can see and explore. There is no denying the stark difference between the two if you can see the world as he can.

“They’re not identical,” he says softly, petting the helm of his newborn, “not to me.”

Cosmos smiles and nods, “Well, I’m not as attuned to that sort of thing as you are so I may need your help sometimes.”

Soundwave removes his mask and takes Cosmos’s free hand to kiss it, “Always.”

As relieved as he was when Ratchet had first come to fetch him, that could never compare to the joy and relief he feels now seeing his Conjunx and sparklings well, actually holding his healthy and whole sparkling. The sparkling in his arms reaches up and stretches their little arms to blink open their optics to look up at him. Very softly, almost too soft to hear, they let out a long note that’s not unlike the synths from Earth and an immediate wave of affection comes over Soundwave for his sparkling. He ducks his helm as he’s absolutely overcome with a tide of love for his little sparkling. Before he can hold it back, his shoulders are shaking and his optics fritz with unrelenting delight. He helped make this small being and they and their sibling are all his and Cosmos’s, nothing could be better, the universe could gift him no greater joy.

“So,” Comos calls over, smiling warmly at how taken Soundwave is with their sparkling, “what should we name them?”

The question makes Soundwave freeze as his mind draws a blank. He’d prepared for everything, every contingency, every possible thing they would need…

“I don’t… know,” Soundwave replies softly and flinches at Ratchet’s bark of laughter.

Cosmos, to Soundwave’s mortification, joins Ratchet in a peel of laughter, one of Soundwave’s favorite sounds when it isn’t directed at him.

“Well,” Cosmos finally manages to say as his fit of laughter dies down, “I was thinking maybe Echo and Logos. How does that sound?”

Soundwave straightens up and rather grumpily stares at his Conjunx, “If you already had names picked out, why did you inquire as to my decision?”

Cosmos tries to fight back a broad smile but fails, “I just wanted to see the look on your face when I asked. I know you’ve been too worried to think of anything like that.”

Sighing, Soundwave returns to Cosmos’s sides and gives him a quick kiss, “I think those names are wonderful.”

“Good,” Cosmos smiles up at him, making Soundwave feel like the luckiest mech on Cybertron.
