Day 1 of Stardew Valley 1.6 (in game day)
SPOILERS FOR 1.6 IF YOU OWN THE GAME PLAY IT YOURSELF PLZZZZ
Im sharing these as I go, I did not look at patch notes and do not intend to until the first year of the farm is over at least. This is just what im finding and my opinions on it!
The new farm type: Meadow Farm! Its beautiful, and gives a completely new way to start the game. I adore the animals in this game, so being able to start with them is the best. Getting hay from Lewis instead of Parsnip seeds was certainly a surprise, but it makes sense. Also, epic waterfall.
The Map: First thing I noticed was all the cherry blossoms were recolored on the map. Very pretty! Not sure if these are new, but you can see the Flower Dance place and a path into the higher mountians. Could be old and im just forgetting. Theres now a waterfall coming from the mountain lake into the town river. The cliff above Joja Mart is now accessible and has some objects, one of which appears to be a bottomless crate that is interactable, but I dont know with what. Also, were the huge ass trees above the Jas jump-rope tree always there?
Animal and Special Items tab: new tabs to show relationships with animals and wallet items as well as other things.
Secret in the not-so-secret woods: Above where you would normally find Robin's axe, theres a stone sign on a slightly hidden indent that says something along the lines of "only master of 5 can do" whatever the sign said i forgot sorry. Im assuming this is something that unlocks after getting to 10 at all skills. Looking forward to it!
Town Events: I checked the calender and there seems to be a bookkeeper event marked with a hot air ballon and a secret 3 day event in spring. I wasnt expecting it so soon!
New dialogue: I gave Linus a leek, as I always do, and he actually acknowledges the fact your giving him a foraged food item! He appreciates it.
Marnie has 1 sink now. Nice.
Super loving the update so far!

lapvona 🐑🧺
a story about love, lust, and love.
literalmente based on ottessa moshfegh’s lapvona.
cw: heavy religious themes, mentions of abuse, death, mentions of bodily fluids (just vomit i know im sorry).
armin loved the quiet of the forest.
nothing, save for the occasional birdsong or the swaying of the sycamore trees, manifested to bother him while he prayed.
his ivory knees, jaded with ruby-red scarring and amethyst-purple bruises, pressed against the roughened surface of the cliff's rocky edge. across his view was the waterfall; the constant stream constant, yet hushed. to the right of it, carved naturally by the seasons and time, was the face of Jesus Christ himself.
that's what the sunshine-blond boy found himself praying to every sunday.
he prayed for his mother and father, singing soft hymns to himself as he pictured what he could remember of their soft, doughy faces. he prayed for his grandfather, the knowledge of him being devoured by titans caused a shiver to run down his spine. armin never prayed for himself, because in doing so he'd be committing the third out of the seven deadly sins.
"God has given you what you need," armin could hear pastor erwin's voice ringing in his ears. "God has given you what you deserve. what, my dear child, could you possibly be pesting God for if naut for earthly, petty whims?"
an icy breeze rushed through his tresses. opening his eyes, the lone boy was quick to discover how the once river-blue sky had shifted to that of a tangerine-orange hue. the birds had stopped chirping, their brawny wings streaking through the clouds as they flew.
armin knew he would have to return to his village, his belly rumbling in both hunger for supper and anxious thoughts. desperately wanting to recite a prayer for himself as he would make the short travel back home, he ultimately thought against it. it wouldn't be wise to anger God right when nightfall would arrive soon.
his scrawny, little legs stood up from his knees, his tattered shoes crunching the leaves and twigs under his soles.
-
his sapphire eyes squinted at the amber lights of his village's torches.
not a lot of villagers remained out, save for a few adults who'd been smoking rosemary cigarettes as they watched the children run around and play.
entering his own home, a tiny home made of ivory cement and olive-green wood finishes, armin shrieked as he felt a smack landing on his right cheek.
"where've you been?" eren's cool, baritone voice questioned. when armin didn't answer, the brunet was quick to give the blond another blow.
"you can't answer me now?" eren hissed, his cyan-blue eyes focusing on how iridescent tears rolled down armin's ballerina-pink cheeks.
"i was with God," armin sniffled, his hand soothing his aching face.
"and you didn't bother to let me know?" eren chastised, his head cocking as he endulged in the other boy's agony. "don't think God would find that pleasing, would he?"
armin anxiously shook his head, his babydoll eyes wide and glossy from his suffering. how pathetic, eren thought. he strode towards him, nonetheless, his lengthier legs pausing right before armin's shaking form. his rough palms cradled the lamb's warm cheeks, a cruel smile emerging on his lips as his tongue peeked out to lick the remaining tear droplets.
salty, eren internally voiced. yet tastes like honeysuckle. there was a sudden swell in his chest, his shoulders subconsciously straightening in pride. he had a certain hunger for seeing the shorter boy like this; a teary mess underneath his hands. his cock hardened at how armin hiccuped, how armin sought the comfort from eren as if these weren't the same hands which tormented him.
"God wouldn't like how my little lamb seems to wander off without his shepard knowing, hm?" eren's voice whispered. his left hand's thumb gently caressed armin's cheek, before his fingers spiraled down to rescue the boy's bottom lip from his own gnawing teeth. "i take care of you," eren purred. "i bathe you, i feed you, i home you. the least you can do is tell me where you're wandering off too."
armin's peach-toned lips wobbled. he felt so stupid, ashamed of how he disappointed not only eren with his insolence, but how he abashed God, too.
"i'm sorry," armin softly cried, his only comfort being a consoling 'good boy' that slipped from eren's lips.
"bed time," the silk of eren's words stated, the warmth of his fingers banishing from armin's face. the blond's shoulders dropped at the loss of affection. "you've had enough fun for the day."
wordlessly, armin found himself in the little space that they deemed a kitchen. in a wooden bucket was days-old rain water, the water in which the blond palmed at after his fingers has rustled through the amber-colored honeypot on the tiny room table. emerging with a mint leaf, he rubbed the plant against his teeth before using the water in his other hand to gargle his throat before he spat it back into the bucket. they would be getting new rain, anyways. it would be raining someday this week according to marco, the town's forecaster.
stepping just five feet into the bedroom, armin stripped himself of his soiled clothes as he tossed it into the pile that eren had already made.
the brunet himself had been laying on the straw-filled mattress, the sheepskin blanket pushed off his bare, sweat-shimmering body. armin joined him, his knees making a dip in the mattress before his body peacefully laid. he could feel eren stir beside him, his soft words of 'goodnight, pet', lulled armin to sleep.
-
eren had gotten angry again at armin the next morning.
the poor doe couldn't even remember why. all he could recall through his watercolor thoughts was eren throwing a straw-woven basket at his blond head.
not wanting to upset the irate man any longer, armin decided to visit mikasa's little cottage.
his bare feet trudged through her wild-grown lawn, the little bunnies hopping wildly as they sensed his arrival. they leaped away, however, when the baby approached her door to knock.
"mikasa?" his honeyed voice questioned, his darting eyes peering in through her windows to try and spot her.
it didn't take long for her to answer, much to armin's joy. mikasa simply opened her door, her lavender smell dancing through the boy's nostrils.
"hi, baby," mikasa greeted, her right hand reaching up to tuck a few loose, golden strands behind armin's ear. "what's wrong, hm?"
"eren's mad at me," the boy confessed, making sure to widen his eyes to garner extra sympathy. "cause i went to go see God last night."
"why would eren be mad at you for that?"
"cause i didn't tell him," armin's voice trailed off. his ultramarine eyes looked anywhere but mikasa's eyes.
eventually, desperation got the best of him.
"can i come in?" his bambi voice asked. "please? i need you."
"yes, baby," mikasa cooed, widening the door behind her to let the boy in.
the lavender scent, coupled with a whiff of vanilla, grew as armin laid on her wool-textured mattress. he dug his nose into her velvety pillow, his nostrils harshly inhaling every remnant of mikasa.
he could hear the ruffle of her cotton, pearl-white dress. he could feel the dip in weight on the mattress, the boy picturing mikasa on her knees as if they were on the temple's pews. he began wondering what her knees would look like reddened, her pale skin all cherry-blushed as eren commanded her to her knees.
"come 'ere," mikasa adored, rocking the blond in her nurturing arms. "i've got you," she whispered.
armin knew that eren and mikasa fucked occasionally. he pretended he hadn't been conscious during it, feigning sleep when the brunet forced the blond to seek bedding on the wooden-floor. he'd mellow his gentle breathing, the young man trying not to gasp and whine when he'd hear the slaps of eren's pelvic against mikasa's hips. his cheeks would flush, the sounds of mikasa's erotic whines and eren's obscene words caused the poor boy's cock to angrily harden.
in those times, armin felt enraged. he felt maddened at how eren's cock was made to illicit beautiful melodies from mikasa's throat, infuriated at how mikasa was graced with the rage and coarseness that was eren's harsh fucking. it was supposed to be him who'd experience eren's aggressive nature. him who eren's misdirected anger shall be pointed at. him who would endure eren's wrath.
like how God intended.
in an episode of furiousness, armin found himself wanting more.
"can i suck?" armin questioned, his fingers subconsciously fingering the trim of mikasa's dress.
"yes," the young woman simply answered. she pulled the top of her dress down, her pillowy tits out for display. armin's peachy-lips wrapped around one of them, his eyes shutting as he nursed from her as if imitating a newborn doe.
in these little moments, he determined that this was his revenge against eren.
they laid there for a spell, unmoving except with the occasional melody sung and a soft suckle.
armin supposed it must've came natural for the brunette. he hadn't known much, but he was aware of how mikasa had been there for eren after the passing of his mother. he assumed mikasa must've nursed eren like this, too.
that only made armin suck harder, a soft hiss emerging through mikasa's gritted teeth. good.
-
by nightfall, mikasa had sent armin home with a straw-basket filled with loafs of baked bread, jars of lamb's milk, and freshly plucked figs. she offered a kiss on the side of his cheek, her soft words of "be good for eren, baby," hummed the young boy a goodnight.
armin felt himself getting angry all over again.
arriving home, armin set the basket on the kitchen's counter, carefully examining the tiny home to determine eren's whereabouts.
he wasn't home.
trucking into the bedroom, the blond found himself getting ready for bed. shedding his clothes, he tossed them into the familiar pile when something shiny caught his eye.
a pearl. a pale, opalescent pearl shone greatly underneath eren's pillow, its gleam so great even under the nightly lack of light. lifting up the pillow, armin discovered a letter, the paper folded and the contents slightly smudged with octopus ink. his fingers grasped onto it, his cerulean eyes squinting as he struggled to encode the words.
mikasa, you have been the subject of my dreams for as i can remember. my mind often pictures your face, my thoughts serving as pictures of how your body trembles while under mine. it's your voice which sings in my ears, every laugh, every moan, every gasp more beautiful with each tone. you're the woman in which God intended, the woman in which shall belong to me. there's been word that the northerners are experiencing much more pleasantries than us down in lapvona. i plan on wedding you, mikasa. i plan for you to bear my fruits in the swell of your womb. father fritz had agreed to wed us, and from then we shall make our ascent up north. as for the boy, I'm not sure. he's not intelligent, and runs around prancing like a doe. he's not capable of many things, and yet i find him endearing. we could leave him here, i suppose, however the boy would never survive on his own. perhaps he can tend to our farm animals, or entertain our young ones up north. i understand you're quite fond of him, and so i assume this'll be a bridge that we will cross in the near future. for now, just understand that you are my woman and my priority. your being takes hold in my life, and in my heart. yours truly, eren.
by the end, armin found himself shaking with unadulterated rage. he knew he was disobeying god with his envy, his jealousy and outrage at how he wasn't eren's prime concern. he wasn't who eren would inflicted his chaos onto, the blond not deemed worthy enough to indulge in the brunet's fury.
he wasn't worthy enough to reach salvation. how could armin reach heaven, when only the select few were cherry-picked by God Himself? how could armin prove to God that he was noble enough to be chosen, when there would be no suffering to be endured?
"Jesus Christ had sacrificed himself for us," pastor erwin's voice echoed. "he endured crucification just for us, just for us to live in righteousness. therefore what makes you worthy enough to join the Lord in heaven? what sufferings had you endured? what pain had you sorrowed that could be measurable to the pain felt by the Christ?"
without cognition, without discernment, without reason, armin's mind had settled on one thought.
the blond is going to kill eren.
-
he fled to annie's the next morning. the ambivalent girl found herself feeling suspicious at armin’s sudden visit, yet nonetheless fulfilled his pondering questions.
“well,” her steady voice spoke. “the mandrakes cause hallucinations. they’re rather hypnotic, armin, so i’d stay away from those.” she pulled out a box from above a cabinet, the silver-plated chest carved with an artistic rendition of Christ's crucification. she unlatched it, turning the chest around for armin to see the next root.
“you can try mugwort,” she shrugged, holding the plant in her fingers before dropping it back into the velvety-cushioned interior. “it’s not as harmful, so it wouldn’t really kill. it would just lightly harm you, however.”
armin stood wordlessly, his vision distorted as he heavily contemplated between the two plants.
and then, "do you have anything stronger?"
annie stood just as soundlessly, her turquoise blue eyes sizing the strange boy up. she struggled to decipher what exactly brought the young man to her's, what cause the blond to ask for the strongest poison she had.
her silence arose anxiety in armin, the pregnant pause causing the insistent man to blurt out an, "i'll pay you extra."
well, then. annie turned to open a cabinet behind her, the stoic woman re-emerging with a tiny, cream-colored, wool bag. she dropped it on the counter, the woman taking a small step backwards which went unnoticed by her, but acknowledged by armin.
"belladonna", her voice dropped, her form moving slightly over the bag as she leaned over the counter. armin leaned in, too, the young man feeling a hint of arousal from sharing a potential secret. the tips of annie's little lips glazed gently against the lobes of armin's ears, a shiver running down his protruding spine.
"or," she whispered, the boy struggling to not laugh as the movement of her lips against his skin tickled him. "as you might know it as, deadly nightshade."
she backed away quickly, yet gracefully, like a lake swan. it was as though the short conversation hadn't occurred.
"what are you willing to give me for it?" annie questioned, humorously observing how armin struggled to swiftly pull whatever it was out his worn-down cotton pants. he managed to have it swaying in his hand rather quickly; a solid-gold rosary decorated with red-ruby jewels shone beautifully, even in the dim light of annie's shop.
she didn't question where he'd got such a luxurious rosary from. he didn't feel rather inclined to answer it, too ashamed to admit he'd stolen it from the praying hands of the Virgin Mary statue from the temple. annie rarely visited the church, anyways. she wouldn't have realized, or snitched.
"deal?" armin questioned, bringing it closer to allow the rosary to hypnotize annie into accepting the deal.
it worked. "deal."
she took the dangling jewels from armin's fingers, her left hand shoving the little wool bag towards the blond's direction.
"they're in blueberry form," she explained, as if it was a rapid disclaimer she was obligated to give. "don't leave it around anyone who'd mistaken them for such."
"yes, annie."
"and when you use them, make sure to use every last one. it'll cause harm onto you if anyone were to discover you with them, and harm onto me if anyone were to know i sold them to you."
"yes, annie."
"okay, then," the blonde breathed, her stress alleviated as she chose to trust armin with the poison.
the young man was headed for the door, poison bag tucked into his pocket, before annie's curiosity got the best of her.
"hey, armin," she called, absentmindedly playing with the lobe of her ear. "what exactly did you need it for, again?"
armin, with the sweetest smile he mustered, swiveled delicately around as he answered with his dulcet voice.
"for rats."
-
armin hadn't known how to bake a pie.
he settled on making oatmeal. it was easy enough; couple of oats, lamb's milk, and belladonna blueberries.
he served it beautifully on their little wooden table; a rusted spoon on the left side of the bowl, with a cup of freshly-squeezed orange juice on the left.
admiring his work, the blond didn't anticipate eren's soft footsteps as he sauntered wordlessly into the tiny kitchen.
"what's all this?" the brunet slurred, the young man still blanketed by sleep. he blinked, fighting the rest that blurred his vision. his cyan-eyes focused on the display before him, before they looked up to meet with armin's baby-blue eyes. armin could swear he'd seen surprise behind those almond eyes, and something deeper. something complex that the blond couldn't name.
"you made breakfast?" eren questioned, his veiny hands pulling back the table's seat before sitting gently on it. "for me, pet?"
armin blushed. "yes."
"what's this?" eren probed, his fingers grabbing the spoon before he fished at the belladonna berries, raising them up to inspect. "berries? they're not in season, lamb. where'd you get these?"
the blond tensed, fighting the urge to pull his bottom lip into his teeth. it was a habit he'd done when he'd conducted a lie against eren, a habit that the meaner man soon picked up on. now, the only thing armin's little habit earned was a sharp slap on his cheek in response.
luckily for armin, eren hadn't questioned him again. he indulged in the oatmeal, his face cringing in the flavor of the berries.
"how sour," he commented, quickly washing it down with the orange juice.
armin's bottom lip was held captive by his teeth. he silently watched eren eat, the twinkle in the blond's eyes dimming with each spoonful eaten.
once he was done, he shoved his now empty bowl back. he got up, his body carrying him to the bedroom. armin followed.
the blond watched eren return back to bed. the brunet's tired form moved to the left, patting the vacant, lush spot near him.
"get in, little lamb."
armin complied. he sunk into the bed, letting himself be pulled into eren's side. he always did love how he smelled; pinecone and earth's dirt. his nose dug into eren's armpit, breathing in his masculine musk. he could feel the brunet's arm wrapping around him, his thumb caressing armin's pale stomach.
"my pet," eren purred, pressing a soft kiss on armin's golden fringe. armin curled deeper into him, his nose pressing farther into eren's warm skin. "i've got to tell you something later, lamb," eren rasped, a sudden cough bursting through his chest. he coughed for a good minute, causing armin to jerk his head up. he settled back down, however, a sudden wave of guilt boiling in his stomach.
"wake me up in a bit," eren waved, his eyelids fluttering as they shut. his lips let out a string of coughs, a string of spit shimmering on them as he spat on the wooden floor.
he fell asleep rather quickly, his breathing labored and harsh.
armin laid, incapable of sleeping as his thoughts raced with worries and sorrows. thou shalt not kill.
armin's breathing hurried, soft little huffs marched out his lips as the realization began to sink in. he got up from under eren's heavy arm, his shaky hands resting on the brunet's stomach.
"eren?" his small voice questioned, his fingers gripping onto his torso. he rocked his body slightly, in an attempt to wake the taller man up.
no response.
armin began to get frantic; his hands jolted eren's sleeping form, little tears began to form in the ducts of his blue eyes.
"eren?" he cried, madly thrusting the boy as he outwordly prayed to God.
"please, please," the pale man whined. he hoped that he could reverse it, hoped that God could hear his pleas and take mercy on this mistake. "please, eren. don't die. God, please don't kill him."
he rested his ear on eren's chest, the blond fighting the urge to not vomit on the brunet's wool sweater.
no heartbeat.
wildly, armin sieged eren's wrist. he pointed his index and middle finger into two standing pillars, pressing them sharply on eren's flesh. no pulse, either.
armin wailed, his body jerking from the bed as he fell harshly onto the ground. he yelped before stammering up to his feet.
"eren?" armin sobbed, taking in eren's slain form. the blond moved in, his head laying on eren's unmoving chest. he laid there, armin's breathing irregular and labored from howling.
he failed to notice the sound of the front door opening, or the little pat-pat-pats of footsteps.
"eren?" another voice, a female's, rung out. "you in here, honey?"
armin's spine straightened.
"armin?" the patting of footsteps entered the room. the blond didn't have to turn around to recognize who'd been calling him. he immediately knew based off the lavender scent.
"baby?" mikasa's soft voice questioned, her gentle hand rubbing against armin's bouncing back. "what's wrong? why're you crying?"
armin couldn't answer her; too ashamed, too regretful.
"honey?" mikasa tried again, before her babydoll-eyes caught onto eren's still form. she pressed a smooth hand against his forehead, before dragging it down to his heart.
she stilled.
"eren?" her voice rose, her actions mimicking that of armin's as she gently shook his arm. "baby?"
she soon realized, however, the tragic scene before her.
she screeched, her cries more piercing and gut-wrenching compared to what armin produced. her upper-body melted into eren's chest, her shrieking face burrowing into his richly, eren-scented, sweater. as if her love and horror would bring him back to life.
armin lifted himself off the bed, his body hunching over as he emptied the containments out from his stomach. the whole act before him made him sick, his heart pounding and his head throbbing.
mikasa turned her head to look at armin, a primal fear developing in him once she did. he couldn't pinpoint what it was at first; perhaps it was her bloodshot eyes, the way the white transformed into a rose-red hue, or the way her pupils were fully dilated. perhaps it was the paleness of her face, her cheeks snow-white from shock. or perhaps it was the way her raven-black gripped onto her face, the sweat that perspired served as the glue.
what couldn't escape his mind, however, was the way her mouth hung open like a dog. slobber escaped from it, her breathing sharp and ragged as she huffed. to witness mikasa, so poised and so elegant, reduced to this inhumane state was what ignited terror in armin's little, quivering body.
and so he ran, darting out the door as he heard mikasa's pained voice yelling out an, "ARMIN."
his bare feet rapped against the brutal rocks, carmine-toned cuts and violet-hued bruises were sure to immediately emerge on his soles. he payed the pain no mind, his adrenaline forcing him to run. he couldn't hear the cries and screams from the villagers, couldn't hear the way they called his name nor the yells that erupted once they quickly discovered eren's state.
he just ran. the young man ran into the forrest, past the emerald-green trees, past the mud-brown branches that stabbed into his arms. up above him, four ash-black ravens flew with him.
he hadn't known where he was going. he allowed his legs to take him where they pleased, as long as he was far from the village. far from mikasa's wailing form, far from eren's still body.
eventually, however, armin grew to realize where his body had taken him.
he slowed down, his feet inching towards the edge of the cliff. the birds above him sang, the sycamore trees swayed gently by the force of the cool, autumn air. even there, to the right of the constant waterfall, was the face of Jesus Christ.
armin found himself hunched over again, spitting out the remnants of his stomach. the adrenaline, mixed with being presented in front of an image of Jesus, had caused the blond to spiral.
"i'm sorry," he wailed, dropping down to his knees as he clasped his hands. "i'msorryi'msorryi'msorryididn'tmeanto." he breathed, before he screamed for the forrest to hear. a couple of partridges fled, yet the ravens remained. they lurked above armin, taking home on the trees and branches.
he coughed, heaving up bile and blood and the evilness that lurked deep within his spirit. judas, he could hear the villagers curse. filthy demon. he could imagine, once they caught up with him, how'd they capture him. he'd be held in the pillory, his body displayed to be ridiculed and demeaned. they'd humiliate him, just before they took him to the gallows. just like Jesus.
except armin was nothing like Jesus. the blond was a coward, running away from his crime while begging God for forgiveness and mercy.
just like judas.
from below, he could hear the pounding of footsteps, the voices of angry men and sorrowful women. his heart raced, his throat closing in fright. were they looking for him?
he choked. his dilated eyes met with stone Jesus' eyes, before they looked below. under the cliff, there'd been boulders which met with the cool stream of the water. there were bones buried just underneath the rill, some animal, some human.
the footsteps grew. armin's eyes darted back up to stone Jesus, before they met with the observing ravens. they simply squawked.
"eternal God," armin hymned, a jitter in his bones as if his soul knew what was to come.
"your mercy is endless and so is your compassion." his voice lifted with every word, his throat bobbing with every syllable.
"look kindly upon me, and increase your mercy in me." his feet inched closer and closer to the cliff's edge.
"with great confidence," he finished, his fists clenching the cotton-edging of his soiled sweater. "i submit myself to your holy will, which is love and mercy itself."
his right hand unclasped, his fingers touching his sweat-rippled forehead. "in the name of the Father," he breathed, just as the ravens began to screech uncontrollably.
"in the name of the Son," his fingers danced down to touch his chest, the home of his heart and soul. he took a glance at stone Jesus, his unmoving figure simply studying the blond.
his fingers grazed his right shoulder, before they crossed over to his left. "and the Holy Spirit," he ended, his eyes peering down the too close, yet too far, cliff's end. "amen."
the ravens warned him how the villagers were arriving, how they'd soon capture him and gut him for his crime.
he had to move, and he had to move quick. with his prayers sent, he took one last glance down the cliff.
there was a fifty-fifty chance of armin landing on either the rocks, or the water. if he landed in the stream, he’d be taken out of lapvona, God’s mercy on him allowing armin to start a new life somewhere. if he landed on the rocks, however, he’d get to see his family again.
through delusion, coupled with the pressure squeezing on his brain, armin jumped, entrusting God with whatever were to happen.
the ravens suddenly stilled, and everything went very quiet.
the end.

Miquella Hunt Part 5: Caelid
Tumblr media
Boy Caelid is so much fun to explore :) But despite the harrowing rot infested landscape Caelid is filled with Miquella's Lilys, as well as several areas of note that made me go "Hmmmm 🤔" lmao
Tumblr media
1. By a big tree right by the Minor Erdtree
Tumblr media
2. The Forsaken Ruins are positively littered with St. Trina's Lilys and not only that you can also get the St. Trina's Sword here. Interestingly, this is the only place in all of Caelid you can find St. Trinas Lilys.
Tumblr media
3. This place.... is weird. Like what is going on here???? Like there's all these Redmane Soldiers, some Noble Sorcerers, and a Mad Pumpkin Head, all standing around this cluster of scarlet rot staring at it, and there's a single Miquella's Lily at the side just chilling lol I am so confused???? something weird will happen to this place during the DLC im putting money on it lol
Tumblr media
4. On top of a ledge looking over a minor Scarlet Rot swamp, as well at the Caelid Waypoint Ruins. Surrounded by Servants of Rot.
Tumblr media
5. Off to the side by the Dragon Communion Church. Now this is just a theory but when Golden Order Fundamentalism began to yield less and less results on how to cure Malenia, Miquella likely turned to other methods that could help, maybe even Dragon Communion as well?🤷 After all you find several St. Trina's Lilys at Lake Agheel too
Tumblr media
6. Located on the path to Redmane Castle, which-! Leads me to one of my theories that Miquella spent some time with Radahn in Caelid, mostly likely before they abandoned Fundamentalism entirely.
Tumblr media
7. Okay. Now this Lily is very special to me. It is by the tree in the back of Redmane Castle where the graveyard is. This is just a theory, but perhaps Miquella spent some time here at Redmane Castle in Radahns company along with Melania? I can imagine them sitting here, looking out over the ocean as they read over books and scrolls for any information on how to alleviate their sisters Rot; as well as paying their respects to the deceased laid to rest here UwU
Tumblr media Tumblr media
8. There are two Miquella's Lilys here in Sellias streets. One in the alley and one in the waaaay back of Sellia. Just like at Redmane, I believe that Miquella spent some time here learning about the Sellian sorceries, and perhaps about the Eternal Cities? This is just speculation tho lol
Tumblr media
9. Ah, the Chruch of the Plague. This is where you meet Millicent and it is also filled with many Sacramental Buds. My theory is that eventually on Miquellas journey to find a cure for Malenia they turned to their own blood to find a cure; and the Church of the Plague could be the very first spot where they started cultivating the buds to help alleviate Malenias rot.
Tumblr media
10. I've noticed that a lot of the Lilys, Trina's Lily especially, are found by water, and they also seem to be surrounded many Land Octopi as well 🐙 Guess it makes sense since they are described as water Lilys
Tumblr media
11. Guarded by Those Who Live in Death, this Lily is on the cliff overlooking the Wailing Dunes
Tumblr media Tumblr media
12. Behind Fort Faroth by a big tree is a Miquella's Lily. Behind Fort Faroth there is also a ledge were a Lily is which is guarded by a surprisingly chill Winged Dame lol
Tumblr media Tumblr media

The noise from the vent was still coming up making you shudder in your raggy clothes. What the hell was down there? And where were you? One minute you were hiking in the woods and the next..-
“SHUT YOUR FUCKING HOLE!!!!” a loud voice from in the vent startled you enough to make you fall out of your chair surprising the Lycan. He sniffed you, nudging your side checking to make sure you were okay and lightly nibbling at your shaking tail.
“Im.. im ok..” you assured the confused Lycan as you moved the hair from his face. “Your.. very nice..”
“Rr..!!” the Lycan scooted closer to lean on you sighing deep as if he was content. He was not a really roughed up Lycan; hsi chest was deep blue grey with some gashes but nothing too bad. Big alert eyes , some teeth missing and ripped pants that looked more like shorts. You pulled the overcoat close around yourself again sighing low. “Where am i …” you asked yourself. The Lycan flopped into your lap and the hat fell off your head. You picked it up looking at it, rubbing out the edges and dirt from it. “I guess.. “ you reached down to scratch the Lycans ear. “Monsters are real?”
“Rr..!!!!!” He hugged your hips, getting comfortable while you scratched behind his ear.
“Do you have a name?” you asked the interesting creature. He did not answer of course, hmm.. “Well.. how about.. Mm.. do you like Arthur? “
The Lycan licked at your stomach moving all around and you chuckled petting his head. “Okay, Arty it is.” you told the happy Lycan.
It was maybe an hour later when Heisenberg returned. The sound of heavy steps getting louder and louder woke you up along with Arty. You had laid down on the floor with the coat over you as a blanket with the hat next to you and Arty curled up on your side asleep. Heisenberg's eyes wandered around the room till they found you. You rubbed your eye sitting up looking up at this man. Arty sneezed himself awake jumping up to his feet in front of you to see Heisenberg, he moved to the side so the man could yank you up.
“Sleepy huh? I'm surprised you could sleep through all that ruckus.” he gestured to the vent. “Now then, your room is ready and ive got a present for ya!” he told you, letting you go to put on his hat and coat. “Cmon, cmon” he turned, moving back to the door making his way out.
“uhm.. Ok..” you pat your thigh getting the Lycans attention. “Cmon Arty”
“Rr!!!!” the happy lycan jumped to your side and Heisenberg looked back with confusion on his face. His brows bunched up in curiosity. “Did you name my Lycan?”
“Yeah.. i .. his names Arthur.. Arty for short..”
Heisenberg cocked his head at this; “did ya now? Well i hope you got more names” he tapped his hammer roughly on the steel bars alerting the many many more lycans all around you. “Cuz ive got a whole lot more!! Hahaha!!!”
“Heh,..” Chisel hurried up behind the humorous man following him up some stairs to a large empty room with one single door in the corner. Heisenberg taped on the reinforced walls with his knuckles. “Nothings getting in here. Except me of course. “ he swung the door open strolling in with his hammer on his shoulder and you behind him with Arty.
It was…. Well it was a room like he said but… it did not have much in it, well. Anything in it for that matter. You wiggled out in front of Heisenberg to walk around the room. It was clean at least but it had nothing in it. ..
“Like it?” he asked, putting his arm around your neck and his other hand on his hip.
“Uh .. well.. Yes but..”
“Hmm??”
“Can it have a window?”
“Haha!! A window!? Were under ground Chisel!! What cha wanna see? The bugs?!”
“N-no i .. okay…” you looked down at your hands seeing something shiny in the corner of the room.
Heisenberg pouted at the answer he got. Awww. fine fine fiiiiiineeeee “let me see what i can do , just for my Chisel, oh and. There's something for you over there” he pointed as he left the room.
Arty had made himself comfortable in a corner curling up just to stretch and roll onto his back then back to his side running in place til he got tired.
Chisel walked over to the corner kneeling down to see a metal collar staring at her. It had the name “Chisel” on it and a interesting crystal hanging off of it. “Is.. is he serious..” you picked it up feeling the goosebumps on your fingers. You managed to put the collar on adjusting it as best you could till you were comfortable. “Heavy.. “ you said to yourself touching some rusted scrap, poking at it. It fell over revealing what looked like coins to you. “Hmm?” you picked up the handful of coins reading them . “lei..?”. Before you could inspect further your neck jerked and your body moved up on its own and you were dragged to the door where Heisenberg was. The collar was sticking out into the air near his raised finger.
“Like it?” He dropped his hand and the collar fell too . you fell into him choking for a minute and he pat your back. “So how about a sun roof hm? Il move things around. And I guess i can look outside for a blanket or something.” he was rubbing your back now, in slow motions.
“Uhm.. okay.. Id.. like that.”
“Seee im not a bag guy eh?” he taunted walking out of the room bringing you with him. “I GUESS i can find clothes. Tsk tsk tsk, already costing me a fortune , Chisel. “
**
You were outside the factory now, Arty was running around with other Lycans and Heisenberg was throwing things in the air while he looked through his scrap and what not. You were wandering the grounds taking in the scenery; a huge factory.. A castle.. Waterfall and a.. Village? This was an interesting place...it has ot be some kind of magic right? Maybe other world? Supernatural..-
“WELL what do we have here?” said a jolly man in the distance.
You jumped looking over to see a carriage by the cliff. “Was that there.. Before?” you hurried over , the collar jingling around your neck . you saw a carriage and a large man sitting in it with a smile on his face.
“Chisel… nice to finally meet you”
“How.. how do you know..”
“I know many things! A Merchant must know his customers. Now then, those clothes look pretty tattered , fancy a look in my shop?”
You blinked trying to put this together, so this.. Uh. “whats your name?”
“You can call me the Duke, feel free to peruse”
The Duke had some clothes that were the perfect fit for you which was strange.. You offered the Duke the Lei you found and he happily exchanged with you. “Thank you for your patronage!”
The clothes you picked out were some boots, pants and a winter coat along with a long sleep shirt. It was nice to be warm… “uh .. thank you..” you came back around a rock to see the carriage gone. Instead you saw a bridge that was… not there before..
“y/n….. y/n….”
“..huh?” you stepped towards the bridge. “who..Wh whos ..”
You saw a figure on the other side of the bridge , they looked blurry and seemed to be waving.. “Cmon y/n… lets go home…..”
“Huh? Wait .. who are you!” you hurried making your way across the bridge , in the distance a laughing doll could be heard in the trees while Heisenberg was searching his grounds. Arty noticed you were not around and started barking.
“Mutt-!!.. Arty!!! SHUT UP-- .. Chisel?” all the metal around him fell and he whipped off his glasses seeing the bridge was up. “Oh shit.”

Say My Name and I’ll Be There:  10.3: The FINAL Chapter!
Author’s Note: IM SO SORRY IM A DAY LATE I ENDED UP BEING BUSIER THAN EXPECTED AND HAD TROUBLE WRITING BUT HERE IT IS!!!! THANK YOU FOR READING! Be sure to stick around for Inception(Childexreader) ;)
"Xiao! Come here real quick!"
The yaksha glanced your way but didn't bother to get up since you were the one approaching him.  It took a moment to register that your hands were entangled in his hair, placing something in it.  Your smile was unusually bright today--so much so that it was blinding.  Not that he minded though; you've been through a lot these past few months.  Maybe this was the happiest you've been in awhile.
"I knew it," you beamed as you admired the flower crown atop his head, "You look so cute!"
"C...Cute?"  His gaze flicked away from you for a moment while the tips of his ears reddened. "I-"
"Oh, take the compliment already.  We've been together for awhile now.  You don't need to be so shy around me."  You let yourself fall back onto the grass that was shaded by a large orange tree.  Is it a gingko?  I need to ask Aether next time he comes in here, your mind trailed.
"I..."  Xiao returned his attention to you and lay down next to you, careful not to invade personal space and always leaving an inch or two of space between the two of you.  He let his hands lay on his abdomen until he jumped a little from you scooting over without a word.  When he looked at you, he was greeted by a cheeky smile.
"I know you're not used to this type of thing called affection, but I can tell you don't mind it."
"Hmph.  You've gotten smarter."
"Hey, I told you I'm not a stupid human!"
"You're beginning to sound like Aether's companion."
"Okay, there is a huge difference between emergency food and a stupid human."
"So you admit it?"
"Ugh, keep this up and I'll have no choice but to put more flowers in your hair."
"Do you dishonor every adeptus you come across?"
"Well, you're the only adeptus I've met besides Rex--Er, Zhongli!"  The filtered sunlight peeking through the leaves above blinded you when you broke eye contact with Xiao, so instead you propped yourself on your side and admired the view behind him.
Aether's Serenitea Pot was massive.  It had to span a mile or two in every direction, and the entire territory sat upon five tall cliffs that were connected via wooden bridges and held flowing waterfalls.  The weather was always pleasant day-round.  There were several pets outside of the main house on the main cliff that you had befriended, while Xiao seemed to connect the most with one of the gray tabby cats near the entrance.  You had caught them sitting quietly together on several occasions.
"Granny would've loved this place," you sigh.
"I shall go with you to visit her grave."  He didn't look at you as he said this, but the sincerity of his words rang as clear as the sky above.  "...She'd be happy to know you're safe."
"All thanks to you."  Despite originally admiring the scenery, your eyes had drifted downward and landed on his stomach.  Both of you were fully healed by now because of Bennett, and neither of you had any lasting effects from your battles minus the required resting time.  Your side held a prominent scar both at your front and your back, but did Xiao even get scars?  He never revealed the answer--mostly because you were too embarrassed to ask--and thus leaving the idea to your imagination.
"I should probably check on the situation outside soon; it's been awhile since Aether updated us."  Xiao sat up and summoned his spear--he had mentioned a few times that it was difficult for him to relax here and needed to keep himself busy since a comfortable life is a foreign concept.
"Oh, right..."  Your gaze followed his figure as he rose to his feet.  Sensing your--what was it, disappointment?--Xiao turned to you and removed his flower crown before gently placing it atop your head.  That action was followed by a faint smile, then his lips lightly pecked the tip of your nose.
"I shouldn't be long."
"You two love birds have made quite the nest here!  I've gotta say, Aether's got great taste."  A familiar voice caught both of you off your guard and Xiao's stance became aggressively defensive in an instant.  You and Xiao were supposed to be the only ones in the teapot at the moment, and even then, those who did occasionally stay in here didn't greet you like this.  The person that voice belonged to wasn't welcome--or at least, belonged to a presumably-dead man--regardless of that savior act he pulled in Snezhnaya.
"Childe?"  More shocked than afraid, you too rose to your feet.  "What're you doing here?"
"Isn't it obvious?  I came here because I had something to say."  The harbinger was as carefree as ever, but as he walked towards you a slight limp became noticeable in his steps.  He was hiding an injury, but was it from Scaramouche or from Aether?
"What did you do to Aether?"  Xiao's voice was as low as a growl as he raised his spear higher.  He stood slightly ahead of you to ensure your safety since you no longer had a vision and couldn't use those mysterious anemo powers ever since the rescue.  And knowing you and your idiotic tendencies, he had to make sure you didn't do something stupid like try to fight Childe if provoked.
"Haha!  Relax!  Aether and Mr. Zhongli are doing just fine; in fact, they allowed me to enter!"  Childe hid a wince when he stopped walking, but noticed the flicker of recognition in your eyes.  His lips curled upward with flattery.   "Don't worry, ojou-chan.  A little scuff isn't going to take me out."
"I-I wasn't worrying about you."
He seemed unconvinced but faced Xiao again anyway.  "You'd be pleased to know that both Aether and Zhongli let me in on their own accord--no manipulation from me whatsoever."  The fact that he had to clarify that! "Why don't we chat over lunch?  I'll cook.  Show me to the kitchen, girlie?"
.............
To say that you and Xiao were staring was a bit of an understatement.  Here you were, both sitting at the dining table in the main hall of Aether's adeptal house watching Childe cook up a meal fit for a large family while expertly navigating the kitchen like it was his own.  And when he served you, the delicious aroma that wafted into your nose was nothing short of enticing.  You and Xiao withheld your utensils--one out of weariness, and the other because it's not almond tofu.
"What?"  Childe let out a slight chuckle as he took his seat and dug into his plate.  You have no idea how thankful he was that there were forks in the drawers instead of chopsticks.  "Oh, perhaps you two already ate before my arrival?  More for me then I suppose."
"Um, so why are you here?"
"I figured I'd give you an update regarding our little situation outside."
"'Little?'"  Xiao couldn't contain his scoff.  He hadn't dismissed his weapon either, and it levitated beside his seat.
"Seems like the quiet life hasn't changed you one bit, yaksha."  The harbinger stopped stuffing his face and set his fork aside to look at you.  "Regarding what happened with Scaramouche, I think it's safe to say I won."
"If it weren't for you coming here today, I would've assumed your untimely demise."  Ignoring Xiao's look of disapproval, you reached for your utensils and started to eat.  Both of you hadn't taken your eyes off of the harbinger as he cooked, so the chances that he may have tampered with the ingredients were low.  Plus it'd be out of his character to go about eliminating enemies like that.  "I'm grateful that you saved my life, but don't think for a second that that makes up for everything you've done to us."
"Oh, I wouldn't dare.  I know I've been aggressive for lack of a better term, but I'd like you to know that I'm only like that when it comes to my duties as one of the eleven harbingers.  Aside from that, I'm happy to call you a comrade just as I view Aether and Zhongli."
"Woah woah woah," you nearly choked.  "I'm certainly not going to start viewing you as a friend now."
Childe simply laughed at your objection.  "Think what you may, but I do respect you and the rest of Aether's party.  As for my motherland and it's affairs, I think you'd be happy to know that the Tsaritsa has stopped her pursuit of you and Xiao.  She's not exactly appreciative of you wrecking the palace and would like to avoid any further destruction that can hamper her current plans."
"That's all it took for her to leave us alone?  You must be joking."  The archon had spent so much time and resources on hunting and imprisoning you--the idea of her giving up just like that had to be unrealistic, right?  And the fact that Xiao managed to bring the entire palace down...there's got to be some sort of bounty on your heads.
Childe met your gaze and held a level of sincerity equivalent to the time when he confessed his feelings and offered you a position among the harbingers on Dragonspine.  "Not in the slightest.  Regardless, you're free to lead carefree lives from now on.  Though if you'd like to rejoin the Fatui I'm sure I can pull some--"
"Nope.  I'm done with that."
"Ha! Very well then."  Childe resumed eating with an amused grin on his face, but Xiao wasn't satisfied with this conversation yet.
"You've given us no reason to trust your words."  His stare was hard and calculating as he tried to decipher any hidden motives behind Childe's friendliness.  It wouldn't be unusual for this to be some kind of trick.  In fact, he expected that there'd be some sort of catch.
The harbinger sent a brief glance Xiao's way before guiding another forkful of food into his mouth and shrugging.  "...Like I said, think what you may.  I don't care if you two choose to live in this realm or in Teyvat with the rest of us.  But then again it must be incredibly boring for a guardian yaksha to be lounging around in this domestic place.  I know I'd be driven mad if I had to live in such a quiet place for so long."
Xiao didn't flinch or give any indication that he was right, but your eyes briefly flicked his way.  It was uncomfortable for him to be 'relaxing' here with nothing to do.  It wasn't surprising that he'd be yearning to go out and uphold his contract with Rex Lapis again.
............
"Childe, wait."  Your hand gripped his forearm rather aggressively as he reached for the door handle to take his leave.  Xiao had heard a disturbance outside and went to check on the realm just in case, so it was only the two of you inside the mansion.
"What is it, ojou-chan?  Miss me already?"
"Yeah right."  As he turned to face you, your grip lightened until you let go.  He hadn't called you 'Mezzetin' once since he got here, only referring to you with this nickname like old times...Childe raised a confused brow.  "Why?"
"...Why?  Why what?"
"Why did you save me?  You could've just let Scaramouche kill me back there.  So...why did you risk your life to save mine when you didn't care less when I was tortured?"  Your stance was firm as you faced him head-on.  "I need to know."
"Ah," Childe awkwardly scratched the back of his head, "that."  Some sort of conflict flickered in those blue eyes of his as he formulated an answer he didn't quite know himself.  "Like I said earlier ojou-chan, I've always seen you as a com--no.  As a friend.  Just as Zhongli and I converse despite the Osial controversy, I see you in the same light despite my loyalty to the Tsaritsa."
"That doesn't answer my question, though.  You had several opportunities to stop what was happening, and it was only then when you decided to step in.  So why then?  What changed your mind?"
"I don't know."
"Bullshit, Tartaglia.  There's got to be strings attached to this, right?  You expect something in return from me? Just get on with it already and tell me."
"I doubt you'd be satisfied with my answer regardless," he muttered mostly to himself.  "I may be kind of a bad guy, but I'm not completely heartless."  He observed the stumped expression that sat on your face as the gears turned in your head.  Then, he turned to the door again.  "When you're ready, you should join Mr. Zhongli and I for drinks sometime.  Farewell, girlie."  He was gone.
Despite the deep-rooted grudge you held against the harbinger now, you couldn't help but still hold some sense of familiarity or gratitude for him.  You might just take on that offer if only to purposely antagonize him at the dinner table.
......
"Xiao, how did you get your tattoo?" The two of you were sitting beneath another one of the many trees native to Liyue in the adeptal realm, still waiting for news regarding your return to the mortal realm.  Several days have passed since Childe paid you a visit, and Zhongli and Aether still had yet to check in on the two of you.  To keep Xiao occupied and keep him from worrying, you'd ask him questions.  "I don't have any of your memories of it."
Despite his memories being shared with you due to your bond, the further back in time they're from, the blurrier they got.  The oldest memory you could 'remember' dealt with the god that enslaved him, and even then, there was no mention of the mysterious green markings that sat on his arm.
"I've always had these markings," he answered gruffly.  He had sat up a moment prior with the intent to exit the teapot out of concern for your companions, but your random question caught him off guard.  His amber eyes narrowed cynically when your fingers traced them.
"Do they have a special meaning?"
"'Meaning?'"  His gaze averted for a moment as he decided whether or not to indulge such a topic.  But your eyes were so full of life as you traced his arm, and your touch was so warm...  "They represent my true form."
"True form?"  You tilted your head and attempted to picture whatever the heck he would be, but all you saw were a bunch of random shapes.  The other adepti in Liyue are shaped like deer and cranes, but what the heck was this mosaic supposed to be picturing?  "And, uh, what would that be?"
Xiao let out a tiresome sigh and realized he may have made a mistake in answering these questions.  Now that he had told you, you weren't going to stop asking until you got to see for yourself.  He never uses his true form; very few had ever seen it and those who have have already passed.  Zhongli had only ever seen it once.
Seeing his apparent concern made you raise a brow.  "No way.  Don't tell me your true form is a bug or something!"
"Tch.  Is that really what came to mind?"  Xiao shot you a glare before standing.  He was planning on walking away and ending the conversation, but your silent pleading made him reconsider almost instantly.  We are alone, he thought.  Perhaps I could show her once.  "Fine," he grumbled.  "Close your eyes."
You obeyed.  He didn't exactly say 'no' when you asked if he'd be a bug.  He wasn't going to appear as such...right?  Butterflies fluttered in your stomach at the anticipation.  And just as your excitement grew, so did the winds that brushed past you.  Even the leaves in the tree above were shaking violently. Then, everything stilled.  Something soft brushed your fingertips, which were resting on your knees.  It was a cue.
"Hm?"  Xiao was no longer standing over you.  Instead stood a majestic bird with blue and green feathers that shimmered like glitter in the sunlight that filtered through the tree branches. "You're--!"
"--a bird," he finished.  He didn't say anything for a moment and allowed you to take it all in, seemingly shy or even embarrassed as you instantly reached out to touch him.
The blush that rushed to your cheeks was ignored by the both of you while your fingers grazed over the feathers that stuck up from the top of his head. He was beautiful; as breathtaking as a peacock, even.  Your fingers trailed down the back of his long neck, earning a rise of feathers as Xiao contemplated your movements.  His feathers were softer than the finest textiles in Liyue! And the tail feathers he had must've been as long as you are tall.  They glowed a light blue that's similar to the eyes of his mask.
"So beautiful," you whispered in adoration.  Xiao shifted his wait to his other foot.  "Thank you for showing me."  The fact that he did showed how much trust he placed in you--
The sound of a twig snapping scared the crap out of both of you--so much so that Xiao immediately transformed back into his mortal self.  Since he was so close to you though, it looked like he was sitting on you from the front angle.
"Hey guys! Sorry it took so long to check in--" Aether nearly stumbled when he approached you.  "Um...am I interrupting?"
"No!"
"The Vigilant Yaksha is BLUSHING?!"  Paimon squealed so loud that the three of you scowled.  "And what's with that sitting position?! You--"
"Paimon!" Aether swatted at his companion before she could say something that angered the yaksha.  "We came here for a reason!"
"Hey! Paimon is NOT a fly!"
"It's confirmed to be safe now.  You two can come home!"
"Wait, really?"  The two of you stood up.  "Are you sure?"
"Yep! There's no issue with the Fatui anymore.  Everyone's backed off.  We'll see you at the Pavilion for dinner to celebrate, okay? Don't be late!"  The two partners exited the realm in a flash.
"Ready?"  Xiao turned to you.
"Right now?! It's so sudd--"
"You don't have any belongings here anyways."  The statement cracked a smile on both faces.  "Let's go."  He reached to tap the symbol on his hand.
Your hand grabbed his.  "Wait!  Let me see you a little longer."  He was confused to say the least, but you didn't bother explaining how gorgeous he looked in the light right now.  Those amber eyes mirrored your own--though perhaps it'd be more accurate to say the opposite.  This is the last chapter of the crazy 'adventure' and the dangerous waltz with the Tsaritsa.  In just moments you'd be back in reality, return to Liyue Harbor, return to your Granny's grave, and he would return to his duty of protecting Liyue.  One more moment in this peaceful environment is all you need to admire him before life got hectic again.
Now your new adventure will be permanently at Xiao's side for however long your lifespan is: training with him, supporting him at his darkest moments, and loving him.  No matter what Teyvat brings next, you'll be able to take it on head-first despite lacking a vision and at his side.  You'll both thrive, not just survive.  And as you peered into his eyes, you could tell he felt the same.  "Okay," you nod.  "I'm ready."

This is going to be a long post of a long story of the very long eden i did not plan on going to today. Today i entered the vault at like 13:41 and told my friend i’d send a heart back once i’m done. I did not send the heart until after 15 o’clock.
I do vault, easy peasy, i sit down instead of just going home and that was the thing that started the butterfly effect.
Cutscene ends, a moth immediately friends me and who am i to deny a little bittle moth some friendship when they offer too? They latch onto my hand and honk. I head to eden, cause is that what they mean?? Do they want that??? I stand behind the barrier with them unsure, head back, they honk and friend another moth and then let go of my hand, offer hand and then drag me into eden. I named that moth preedenmoth
I only had like 110 stars, since i went to eden yesterday, but thats fine, because my moth sitting instincts are in place. I see a moth? Protect the moth. Do not let the moth get krilled.
In the eden social area i quickly change from chibi to tall since i had a feeling it’d be needed and boy, good choice cause this would be a NIGHTMARE if i didn’t do that. I mean this trip wasa nightmare anyways, but it was adorable???? Back to the story!
We open the door, enter, we’re in a lobby full of MOTHS, the leading moth ( preedenmoth) goes up the stairs... and jumps into the rocks, we all get flung with the wind until everything goes white and i’m back... and alone.
I head on thinking to myself “hey since im here might as well get the winged lights!” and when im by the door i see something in the corner of my screen-
IT’S THEM PREEDENMOTH! AND THEY JUMPED OFF THE CLIFF RIGHT BY THE END OF THE FIRST AREA!
So i go after the moth and get them safely this time to the first winged light and we go on and that’s when the real story begins.
another 5 moths appeared with us on the other side, cutscene ensues, i lit two of the moths and they flock to me. I lead them safely, everything good until the tubes and two krills area. I lead my moth and two additional moths and we’re sitting in the safe area waiting for the krill to pass, when two asshats barge in and krill all of us. I have never seen so many stars going FLYING at once! Then i light them by accident. And not asshats krilling on purpose, just moths who are a danger to themselves and everyone around. I lost two moths back then, never seen them even when i went back to find them again. RIP
I get my preedenmoth and the two dangermoths and we go on! Once again everything goes smooth until... The last area before the point of no return. The dangermoths follow me and then preedenmoth looses hold on my hand and gets noticed by the krill also leading it straight into the corridor and like 12 stars go flying and that would be satisfying if I wasn’t trying to lead moths safely.
Then the preedenmoth kept honking until i followed it to the point of no return. At which point i sighed heavily and went in, second day in a row, slightly debating just adding eden to my candle run route. You get a candle in the orbit, right? the saying "you can't help everyone" was made specifically for me when im in eden full of moths
that point was also when i made a discovery. the moth is so scared they wont go anywhere without holding my hand in the ouchie zone, so i simply held their hand and dragged them around which was cool really, up until the super ouchie zone. I emoted them to follow me then pointed towards the super ouchie zone and they started walking on their own! They grow up so fast! They were still super scared and as i went into constant rock fall, i caught them trying to hide behind a rock smaller than their height which was adorable and also super sad. And then they died and started following me as a ball of light. And then i died and i was super ready to go on... when we get teleported to one of the earlier moths! Take a shot every time i say moth
They stayed in the first eden area and were hiding behind rocks and scared of going n so we just honked at them either to get them to go faster or to reassure them, can’t speak for preedenmoth lmao, who kept trying to unlock higher friendship levels which was really impressive considering we were dead.
Then they started playing their horn, which :O !!!
that’s when i found out you can play instruments as a spirit when in eden if you stand close to the statues and keep you lit. So i started playing Memory(his theme), then lost woods, then song of storms, waterfall, trying to make them less scared to go on, which was super finicky considering i could only play when close to fire.
Preedenmoth decided to go on without waiting for others and i stayed one on one with the scared moth.
the game gave me the  "move on ALONE without others?" and both times i said no cause i just felt bad for this poor poor moth, so i just played since since my moth left they seemed to stand more near the statues.
And, i may not be the brightest person, considering that after around 5 minutes of this, playing on my spirit piano it hit me.
I'VE FIGURED IT OUT! The terrified moth keeps standing near statues cause that's the only time i play so they stand then cause they're less scared this is so sad! Like it actually made me hide my head in hands!! EDEN IS SO TRAGIC TT-TT
To give you an idea how long it took for them to die, it would be me being asked around five times by the game “ DO YOU WANT TO GO ON ALONE “
I waited another 15 minutes for them to come to the orbit, considering it takes a while for new players to figure out what to do with the shiny child and then they were here! I pulled out the table, and tried talking with them... And they were japanese so no talk for me but we added each other! And now i have a moth named Scared Lost wood friend. We leave the orbit together after one last play of waterfall...
And i open the friend tab and send my friend the heart back. At 15:02.
every time i go to eden with moths i have a new story to tell.

Hello random stranger on the internet!! For the ask game 38(ik it's the bottom of ppd but still 😘), 34(MENTION ME OR ELSE ILL YEET YOU),25(phupha's beard lmao),8,3,12. I was tempted to ask the ghostship one but if you’re curious to know mine it's Sakda and you 😘
Hello person I do not know and have never spoken to before!!
38.If you had a chance to go to PhaPunDao what's the first thing that you’d like to do there? I want to visit the cliff. NOT TO BE THROWN OFF. But the views are so pretty, I want to experience that. Also the waterfall <3
34.Who is someone you got to know because of the show or someone whose posts/works you enjoyed seeing in the tags? I don’t even know who you are, how could i mention you? 💅 but fine, im going to give you a special mention, i guess. @seetians - i’m going to be nice to you for once, and admit that this entire atots experience wouldn’t have been as fun without you around, i guess 🙄 i love our daily conversations, you’re the queen of theories and headcanons, and you put up with my hoe energy 100% of time, even if we’re discussing something very important. i guess i love ya 😘
special shoutout to the squids:
@atotsphutian & @billkinsdancing.
to the yeeters who plot my death every day: @earthmixs @kaonoppakao @serannes .
to the meta writers whose posts make me want to put my head in my hands out of your sheer geniuosity: @systoles-lfc @viriyanon-guntithanon @nct-oli
@thebadmoonsrising - for your AMAZING fics that live in my head rent free.
and to all the wonderful gifmakers who create wonderful content every single week <33
25.One product placement/merch you'd like to have that gmm is shoving down our throats? Leave The Beard™ alone, orthy omg. it has feelings and you’re hurting them 🥺 I really want the ring, and I’m trying to convince myself to not get it bc shipping is double the price of the necklance but.... i need it.
8.The moment that you fell in love with the show? Honestly? When I saw the original trailer more than a year ago. I just knew it was going to be something very, very special. I wasn’t in the fandom yet. I had heard of 2gether and wanted to watch the trailer to decide if it was something I wanted to watch, and the atots trailer was on my suggested, and it caught my eye, And everyday since that day, there hadn’t been a day where I wasn’t thinking about it.
But if we’re talking about the show: there was this shot after a waitress spills wine on tian’s shirt, and it showed the difference between the wealthy and priviledged - they were able to move on from the incident straight away without even wasting one moment on it. In contrast, the waitress was being reprimanded by her boss and probably fired. In that moment I knew that ATOTS was going to be so much more than another gmm series.
3. Favorite quote from the series (Or Phutian quote that lives in your head rent free)? “From now on, you must value yourself and live life on your own terms.”
12.Favorite Phutian moment (Or the moment that made you SCREAM saying they invented love)? The massage scene in episode 6 😭😭😭 the bgm took it to another level. And omg, just the yeaning, and their smiles, and the love radiating everywhere.

Next Caller Pt 30
Tumblr media
On your phone you got the half hour warning that your chair was arriving at your home and you couldn’t help but make a quick stop first before going home. Parking in the lot you hurried around the building and between the random people inside still swooning and speculating what was next. Grinning upon seeing you Balin watched your easing around the counter straight for his distracted cousin’s side while he was mid grind fully unaware of your arrival yet. Wide eyed a moment at the arms latched around his middle Thorin froze and glanced down perfecting the picture perfect moment Dwalin captured on his phone, a soppy grin melting onto his face noticing it was you in your step back.
“I can’t tell you yet, but I have to go wait for my chair delivery, see you in a bit for the zoo.” Turning away from him you trotted to the back door heading back to your scooter to drive home again.
Looking to his cousins Thorin’s grin held as he croaked out in an awkward chuckle, “What was that?”
Balin shrugged and Dwalin said, “Must be one hell of a chair to hug you and dart off.”
Balin said, “We’ll find out in a bit. You can get a picture when you go to pick her up.” Turning back to his mixture he let his mind wander while your usual fan club were sighing at the new update to their real life romantic drama.
.
Inside your garage again you were sealed and from there you hurried to remind the birds of your guests coming. It wasn’t long after when the truck arrived and a pair of men unloaded the chair that they wheeled to the front door then had to lift and carry through the house to your study behind you. While they carried it you held the tablet you had signed for the delivery with and at the desk you grinned at the pair guiding them back out thanking them after passing the tablet back. With their cart they went back to their truck hoping to get an early start on their next stop which was taking up most of what remained in their truck. Hurrying out the door you checked your mail finding a couple letters from children of one of your friends excited to show off pictures they had drawn of their garden you enjoyed swinging in with them on visits.
Back to your study you went and added the pictures to a cubby with more you were going to hang somewhere then turned to trot over to your chair. Grinning madly you sat on the chair crossing your legs allowing you to hold your desk and turn around in a circle. A few more circles and you hopped up heading back to the front door where you smirked seeing Thorin holding a to go mug saying, “I gotta see this chair.” Roac on his shoulder took off to go greet the other Ravens before focusing on Dot.
Stepping back your grin spread and he chuckled following you back to the study where he smiled seeing the chair nearly identical to your lounge in the study along the opposite wall. “I thought it might be good to have it match the lounge, and it’s pretty comfy. It spins too.”
He chuckled and said, “Well I’m glad you splurged. You deserve it, and it does fit the style. It didn’t set you back too far?”
“No,” you said shaking your head, “I got my first trust payment, from my father’s clan. Thought I’d try to see how I felt after buying something. I’m not going crazy, probably not gonna touch it again for a while, but I’m ok.”
“That’s great to hear.” He said wetting his lips and looking you over, “About the hug?”
“I have news,” you squeaked out widening his grin again.
“Can you tell me yet?” You shook your head and he chuckled nodding his head to the side, “Come on then. Must be good news if you had to hug someone.”
“Oooh,” accepting the to go mug he offered you, “thank you.”
“The citrus one you like.”
“Nice,” you said lifting the mug for a sip while he led you to the door and watched you hang up your bag and palm your keys you pocketed after locking the house behind you.
.
Together in a group the Durins were waiting, mostly the men aside from Mal and Tili. After the long drive your mug was empty and in a similar short and tank top combo complete with open flannel you matched Mal and Tili. The pair of whom grouped around you and remained there on the way in after the purchase of the admission tickets by the guys at their insistence. From exhibit to exhibit you went stealing pictures with Thorin continuing to steal glances at you until he felt your poke at his side and he smirked seeing the Dik-Dik exhibit.
Tumblr media
Shaking his head he joined you and Mal on your way to browse through the deer and antelope breeds. Pictures were taken, including one that Dwalin took with you and Thorin in front of a close by Dik-Dik in the mini almost interactive grazing area walkway. Giraffes were next and large cats next to finish off the usual savannah dwelling creatures heading into forests and mountain animals. Frodo especially loved the lions and other large cats, while Mal went crazy loving the bear exhibit.
Before leaving around a reserved table in one of the in park restaurants your head turned to Tili as she asked, “Jaqi, weekends still free?”
After licking the last bit of sauce off your lower lip you caught her eye with a nod, “As far as I know.”
“Good,” she said with a widening grin, “You should join us this weekend.”
Mal’s smile popped wider and she nodded making you look between her and your grinning boss while Thorin grumbled around his mouthful. Frerin smiled saying, “Yes, you should definitely come see the family home. Gran and Amad have been aching to meet you.”
“I, wouldn’t want to im-,”
Tili shook her head and was joined by nearly all he guys in saying, “No imposition.”
Dwalin, “You should come, we’re all going to be away and we’d hate to leave you without your usual tea fix, Thorin’s got his own little herb garden special at the house so you’ll get his best home brews.”
“I, suppose,” you said glancing at Mal, whose hand landed on yours with an excited squeak.
Finishing lowering her glass she said, “Tomorrow, you, me, we are buying you a bikini.”
“I-,”
Frerin, “We do have a pool, and private lakes on the grounds.”
Tili nodded, “Plus the waterfall near the cliffs. We leave Friday night to fly out.”
“Fly?”
Thorin by then had swallowed his mouthful and said, “Our land is a few hours drive, straddling the border of Erebor and the Grey Mountains. It’s just a forty minute flight.”
“Ok, is it another, casual thing, or..?”
Balin answered, “Strictly casual, just family. If you wanted a simple dress for dinner that would be up to you.”
Tili said, “Sundress, something far from extravagant, if you spent the whole weekend in your pj’s we wouldn’t mind, Dis probably will be showing off her sweats for most of it. Even dinners will mostly be on the back courtyard cooked on the grill no doubt.”
You nodded and lowered your gaze to your plate to slice off another bite while they bled into what you all could do there before Thorin added, “Plus, don’t worry about leaving Roac with Dot alone, he’s coming with us, wouldn’t miss the trip to see his Amad.”
A final tour of the nocturnal section was on your way out and back in his car Thorin looked you over making you say, “I know I don’t have to go. Just wondering what I’m gonna pack.”
“What you usually wear should be fine. They won’t give you a hard time.”
“Is this another Mal courting thing?”
Thorin chuckled and replied, “In a way. Mainly to allow them supervised time together on a vacation since the boys are away often.”
“So no actual buffering then?”
Again he chuckled, “No.”
Music and innocent chatting while you both un-tensed from the slightly confusing trip to the zoo you had both imagined to be far more flirtatious on your parts only to be surpassed by the snuggling trio stealing pecks and embraces where they could mostly leading you and Thorin to man their phones to capture their pictures. The clearly established relationship had taken the forefront of the focus between stops you would all shift to the toddlers to ensure they were being given ample attention as well. It was a bit hard to not be jealous but then again you really had no reason to be. There was no courtship and if one was to start it certainly wouldn’t be in that setting with that crowd all watching so intently.
.
Open suitcase on the bed you eyed your clothes hanging in your closet and began to add simple clothes. Jeans, shorts, socks of an ample amount along with underwear. Tank tops and t shirts with a few flannels and a sweater just in case. A couple simple dressier things were chosen, a mint sundress, collard and sleeveless, layered for sway and to add a more feminine touch to the style. With that a layered sleeveless tan polka doted top with a navy skirt to match, in case something far dressier was planned you added a simple long sleeved yellow lace layered dress with your new heels and some thigh high stockings. Grumbling to yourself as to what you might choose for a swim suit only to cover your head with your pillow mid groan hoping that you could remain calm near the pool. It had been a long time since you had swam and that was in a secluded pool with just you alone on Celeborn’s property. Either way you were invited and you couldn’t be rude and back out now. Just hoping that the pool time would be kept to a minimum and you wouldn’t be a bother to anyone by spoiling their fun.
.
Four bell rings in a row even had your birds peeking out of the greenhouse until you called out, “I have little legs Mal! I can only go so fast!” Hurrying from your shower in your towel to open the door. Huffing once you saw her giggling self you turned letting her in, “Just let me get dried off, you said ten.”
“It is ten.”
“Not with that clock thingy last night.”
Looking at her watch she asked, “That was last night?” Then looked up following you only to stop at the first room with new curtains, “You put up curtains!”
From you bath where you wiggled into your panties and bra and got to drying your hair you called back, “Ya, it’s slowly getting there.”
After her own tour she followed the sound of your blow dryer and smirked seeing the battle of the curls trying to keep their springy selves dripping then followed your fingers in folding a simple start to a five section braid she took your agreeing nod to jump in and help you keep it straight all the way down to the end. “I don’t know how you do it every day.”
“I don’t wash it every day, can’t or I end up looking like a sheep. One or twice a week or it gets moody.”
Giggling to herself she followed you to your bed where you pulled on your shorts and tank top with the flannel over she passed you, “Any choice on color for your bikini yet?”
“I don’t know. Used to have an orange one piece,”
“That’s what lifeguards wear.”
“Exactly,” you said sitting down to pull on your socks and tie your converse.
“You were a lifeguard?”
“Out in Lindon, part of my water therapy. Ten summers helping the lifeguards there drag people out of the swells.”
“Water ther-, oh, your ship.”
Shaking your head you stood, “I’ll be fine, I can swim, I just prefer it not to be crowded. I’ll dip my feet in, who knows they might have a lounging waterfall pool area or something I can lay in while you and your duo pounce on one another, or, whatever you kids get up to these days.”
Giggling again she says on your way back to the door after you’d pocketed your phone and wallet, “You know, sometimes I can almost forget just how old you are, until you say something like that.”
“Well it’s true, and don’t you deny you haven’t been drooling over them in their, I don’t know, trunks, speedos, lets hope that they are not the banana hammock type, I doubt I could survive that.”
Nudging you with her elbow she said, “You know you’d like to see Thorin in one.”
Looking up at her you led the way to the door you locked and grabbed your keys off the ring only to turn back to your garage saying, “If I want to see his bare ass cheeks I’d prefer him naked, not in a g string.”
“So you prefer speedo then?” she teased.
“I’m seeing more big picture, you’ve met Bombur and Gloin.”
“Oh, now why’d you-,”
“Bigger picture. As long as they’re comfy I don’t care, but I am hoping for no g strings.” Hitting the button on the wall for the garage door you walked to your bike as she eyed the paint cans, “Now where are we going?”
Smiling at you she said, “To this cute shop I know.” Trotting back to her scooter in your driveway that you pulled up to allowing you to close your door behind you.
As she readied her own scooter she watched the kids racing by who stopped to wave and greet you then dart off whispering making her look at you after the second group, “They saw my runes on the mailbox matched the ones on Bombadil.”
Again Mal giggled and said snapping her helmet on, “Finally getting the credit you’re due.” Leading the way she pulled out of the drive and you were right next to her for the whole way to a far from what you would call cute in size for the shop more like a mini mall in itself. Parked in the railed off section you crossed the crosswalk to the front entrance and passing the section of just floral wraps and sarongs you made your way down the weaving path glancing up at the fans blowing even colder air down on you the farther back you got dropping the temperature absurdly low for a swimsuit themed shop in your opinion.
“I suppose we can start in one pieces.” Looking around with pursed lips she said, “I think blue,” leading the way to the section of blue while you milled about in the silver ones just past the white ones. A few minutes past and she called out, “Find anything yet?”
Sliding them from one side to the other you replied, “Do they sell nothing but thongs?”
To that she giggled and replied, “Well you are in the thong section.”
“I am?” You said peering up at the odd symbol on the sign your head cocked at, “Oh, it’s a butt, I thought it was another non peach logo mishap.”
Turning around you strolled out of the thong section eyeing the butts becoming more covered in the logos. “Peach logo?”
“I told you about the Butt bush on the way to Rohan.”
“No you most certainly did not.” She fired back peering at you as you started to browse the silver section.
“Oh, could have sworn I did. Anyways, we get to the airport and he pulls into the ‘peach’ section for parking right in front of this butt shaped bush.” Behind her hand she snorted trying to hold back a giggle moving another suit aside, “And he said it’s a peach, but it clearly was a butt,” pulling out your pocket you found the picture and sent it to her phone only making her snort and laugh out loud when she saw it, “Butt bush.”
“That is not a peach,” she giggled out helplessly while you sighed and moved onto the black section seeing as silver just shifted to more scaly designs with absurd ruffles.
“Ooh,” That had her leaving her section to come find you.
“I heard an ooh, I want to see the ooh.” Up to your side she walked and eyed the lace cutout style panel over the middle of the black one piece. “Nice.”
Holding it up to yourself, “Does this look like it’d fit, I have sort of weird proportions.”
“That’s why I like this shop,” she said moving to the end she pulled the measuring tether she brought over to you helping to get the right size using the chart hanging on the end she read when she took the tether back. “This one should fit better. Owner is a Half Hobbit, used to having weird proportions. Yours should be on the blue hangers. I get the lilac.”
Nodding you laid the right sized one over your arm and joined her to the blue section where she eased right back to where she was then pulled out a choice of her own, “Ooh, that’s nice.”
Tumblr media
She nodded eyeing the more classic blue polka doted suit saying, “I like it.” Laying it over her arm she turned her head taking your free hand, “Now, bikinis.”
Eyeing the signs for how much coverage the bottoms offered you skipped the silver ruffled section and started in the red section. More towards the skimpier end showing off the bright baby blue black outlined string bikini. Nipping at her lip she trotted over to you asking, “What have you found?”
“Um,” you said eyeing a black simple shaped two piece, the top was heart shaped with two bands going diagonally across your ribs flashing a bit of skin. Matching the bottom with double bands on the sides around your hip bones. “I don’t know why but I like it. Not sure how it would look though.”
Nodding her head with a larger size she brought you to the little try on station where body models were set up. Helping you to ease the suit on over its nonexistent head you settled the suit onto it laying the bands flat across its ribs. “That would look so cute on you. Just hug you perfectly, I like the crossing for you.”
Tumblr media
Removing the suit you went back and grabbed the one in your size and curiously kept browsing with her close by to see if there was anything else that caught her eye. Branching into colors a neon yellow top with a similar crossing set of strips around the ribs paired with a navy blue bottom with neon yellow decorative ties on the sides. Wraps and covers were next and with a couple sarongs chosen you both headed for the registers while Mal teased her way through imagining how the boys would react to her choices. Ending at the scooters by saying, “And we all know Thorin will just scoop you up seeing your piercings on full display.”
“Oh I highly doubt that.”
“Oh yes he will, because he won’t want anyone else seeing them.”
Making you giggle and roll your eyes, “With that explanation then I expect you to be locked in a closet beside mine with that teenie bikini of yours. Though it might just be Dis locking you away,” making her giggle again. A message on your phone had you saying, “Ooh, I gotta head home, my mattresses are on their way.”
“Do you need an ally?”
“I mean, if you like. I was just gonna wash these, make some soup and sandwiches while I waited.”
“I like soup.”
With a giggle you said, “Alright, come on then.” With your bag on the dip between your legs you rode your way back to your house parking in your garage that she followed you through to your sewing cabinet to cut off the tags while she gawked at your setup.
“Where did you get this?”
Looking at her you said, “Oh, um,” looking around the cabinet you brought out the card you had tucked into one of the top compartments you handed to her, “I don’t know how to say it, but they’re pretty affordable. Had mine for centuries. Folds up into a chest and it’s light weight, fireproof and all that.” She snapped a picture of the card that you put back again then went out to your greenhouse where she saw you using the faucet in the wall to fill the small barrel that with a small bit of laundry soap Mal watched you hand lather your swimsuits. Pouring the mixture out over a couple of your planters that helped to perk up the rare plants more you refilled the barrel and rinsed off the suits while she talked about her thoughts for how the trip would go.
“I think it’ll go well, I mean everyone will be there, so all the ones from the Festival plus so many more. I think that should be-,” For a moment her eyes flinched wider feeling something brushing her cheek in Kuu’s lean over her shoulder.
In her silence you looked up saying, “You’re up late Kuu,”
“We have a delivery.”
“Yes we do. I was going to make some soup, did you want some peas before bed?”
“Yes please. I will get my bowl.” He said turning away parting Mal’s lips in his sudden vanishing after his sudden appearance while you stood to hang up your suits.
On her feet she watched you dump the final barrel of water and then lead the way to the kitchen where you washed your hands and filled the pot that you added peas to allowing that to sit. “Does he do that often?” She whispered by your ear making you smirk at her.
“Ask for peas?”
“No, the, leaning,”
“Oh, ya. Hector and his Mate do the same, I think it’s just, their thing. They like to be sneaky. Means he likes you or he’d stay away.” Mal nodded and you giggled, “You get used to it.” Turning to head to the pantry for more soup and your last loaf of bread while Kuu came in and settled his bowl on the counter and looked to Mal stepping close to her side. Adding the soup to the second pot you settled on the second lit burner saying, “It shouldn’t be that long of a stop, just leaving some mattresses. Tomorrow is the big build day. But they won’t bother you all.”
Happily he watched as you strained the peas out you poured into his bowl he carried back to his house after a big yawn. “Thank you.”
“Get some sleep.”
He walked off and she looked you over as you brought out a skillet for the sandwiches and started to slice the bread. “So when are you buying a washer and dryer?”
Smirking at her you said, “Is it crazy that I might actually like my hand washer kit?”
“Little bit,” making you giggle again, “A bit like little house on the prairie. Next I’ll see you churning your own butter.”
“Oh I don’t have the patience for that, takes hours if you do it right.”
“Is this homemade bread?” She asked and you lifted a brow at her, “This is not a criticism, that’s kind of awesome. And your soup, did you buy these?” She asked lifting the empty jar she sniffed. “This smells so good.”
“Thank you, I should have some more soon, by how my veggies look.”
“I’m gonna have a house like this one day, and you are teaching me how to make that.”
“Sure. It’s fairly simple recipe. Just jar it and you can have soup when you like.” Finishing off another grilled cheese your head turned at the doorbell sounding making you turn off the burner for the skillet.
“I got this.”
You nodded saying, “Just stir it occasionally should be back before it’s done.” Walking for the door you grinned and showed the delivery men inside. “That corner should be good.” The first man eyed the empty room and you said, “They’re installing the bunk beds tomorrow.”
Chuckling to himself he said, “Stacked should be best then. Just to make sure they don’t fall over.”
“Yes, that would be good, my birds like to explore.”
Stacked in the corner out of the way the four were left and they guys were back to their truck with signed slip in hand ready for their next stop. Back to the stove you went and finished off the soup you served out complete with split grilled cheeses enjoyed while you shared basic ways to make the bread and what actually was in a few of your soups. A message from Bilbo that he needed some help in the shop had her stealing a hug and hurrying out, “See you tomorrow.”
“See you.”
Finishing off the food you cleaned up and let out a breath double checking your garage and front door were locked before heading back to your bedroom to get some sleep early. Plans however didn’t pan out as you were up a few more hours watching a show to tire yourself out. Groggily you checked your suits and ensuring they were dry you folded them and added them to the suitcase at the foot of your bed.
.
Today would be busy to say the least. Four rolled around and getting ready you were off, though a bit early you headed in having to skip the shop from a message that the guys had sent you saying they had a surprise for you. Sending off a quick message to Thorin you went straight to the station where you found the guys ready to lead you into their office.
“Everything good?”
Glorfindel, “Better than good.” Flashing you one of the stickers making your jaw drop as you let out an excited squeak taking hold of the sticker making them chuckle.
Ecthellion, “Just the Countess for now as she’s the most popular right now, possibly we could add another character monthly if you like.”
You nodded saying, “Ya, maybe Wolsey next, I can get you a copy of his sketch to stock up if you like.” They nodded and taking hold of the manila envelope holding the 20 sheets of portrait stickers with four on each sheet.
Exiting into the hall you froze at the to go mug being held in front of you when you turned. “Hello,” You said to Mal who you accepted the mug from.
“This is how Thorin gave me your drink. Ding Dong, ‘this is for Jaqi.’ You broke my uncle in law.” Rolling your eyes you turned for your booth to wait outside sipping on your cider, “What’s in the envelope?”
“Mmm,” lowering your mug you reached into the envelope and excitedly she squeaked accepting the sheet you held out to her, “Stickers.”
“This is why you missed your drop in?”
You nodded and replied, “Yup. I didn’t realize-,”
Her smirk deepened looking at you, “Oh you didn’t realize that Thorin wanted to make sure that his lady had her morning fix before our show?”
Shaking your head you said, “I doubt-,”
She pointed at the cup, “He woke me up, to give you, the mug that you couldn’t make it in for instead of barging in here himself. Which if he had he’d no doubt hide out and watch.”
“Either that or he’s staking out the place to find his own way in for next week.” Making her giggle to herself.
.
A stunning show centered around two new characters drove people off what they had imagined, though excitedly they were hooked when Frenn did come back into the story in tries to goad a confession out of Durin while he scoured his ship in search of the meant to be resting Bunny.
.
The silenced buzz of your phone alerting you to the bed frame arrival, once the show was over a hasty hug from you later to Mal and you were off to hop onto your scooter. Texting Bilbo she passed on word that you were heading home confirming to her that Dwalin was already at your place. A fact that you found for yourself upon arrival seeing him parked in your driveway. Opening the garage door you parked on one side and let him pull in on the other leaving a wide section for any supplies they might need in the driveway or garage. Hastily through the house you went warning the birds that you were closing the door to the greenhouse hearing Dwalin greeting the first crew. Off the truck the wood was unloaded and out you came flashing a grin to Dwalin who said, “Jaqi can show you back.”
You nodded and led the group to your sisters’ room and you pointed to the opposite wall from the door, “That wall should be plenty big enough for some extra space if you need it.”
The head builder said, “Oh ya, plenty of room,” turning his head he said, “You have the mattresses, good.”
“They’re not in the way, are they?”
They shook their heads and he said, “No, not in the least. We may have to take down your curtains till we’re done though to be safe on not catching them,”
“Ya sure,”
Measuring tapes came out while one of the men brought down the curtains and moved them to the white and orange spare room then returned to find the head man saying, “We have some, three feet, on the end over here, now, we could add some spare shelves to fill that space if you like, for spare sheets or such. I’d hate to just leave that space empty at the end of the day.”
“Yes, that would be amazing, thank you.”
He nodded pleased that you were so apt to his suggestion and said, “We’ll get started.” You nodded and headed out at Dwalin calling your name when the first crew saw another crew arriving, though chests un-puffed when they realized the much simpler bed kits were being assembled in other rooms. Through the front door while the other crew stacked the wood they would cut on their pop up table in your driveway for final measurements the second crew unloaded their kits into the sea foam room for your Naneth and Cirdan first. Following up by moving the orange and blue rooms’ beds in next with the blue beds on one side and the tan on the other. Starting with the sea foam while you sat on the couch beside Dwalin the sound of construction starting had you glancing his way.
“Want some stickers?”
He looked at you then glanced down at the sheet you passed him with wide eyes in a deep breath, “No!”
“Yup,” Shifting on the couch you said, “I think I’m gonna put two in my study and bring the rest to your family place, ooh, you haven’t seen my new chair.” He shook his head and followed you to your study where he grinned at your chair you knelt and spun around on it and chuckled watching you set your sticker sheets by the notes you had put in one of your desk drawers. The remaining sheets were added to your suitcase and back to the living room you went while he hurried to add his sheet to his trunk after having amply praised the design of the fabled Countess.
Before the hour was through the platform was built for the sea foam bed with padded headboard attached and ready for its mattress. Windows were closed and onto the next room the team moved catching glimpses of curious supply fetchers from the other team stealing peaks at what vibe the rooms were giving off for them. All seeming to be pleased with your taste, especially those building the base of your bunk beds loving the clear able to grow into children’s room hinting for them perhaps that there were bairns excited for these beds to be completed for them. Every hint urging the teams to do their best, especially since more than one of them had shared whispers on your name, having recognized it instantly upon the bombshell addition to Bombadil’s new lineup.
The twin platform beds for the orange/blue room were completed with ease and with Dwalin beside you they gave you a final tour of the results and with checkbook in hand you wrote out the check for the assembly fee and handed it over only to giggle and sign out a few autographs for the crew. Excitedly they cleaned up the final things and headed on to their next stop while you found your house sketch journal and crossed off the five bed frames that were now completed. Hearing the hints that the guys were nearing the end of their build after you and Dwalin had eaten you broke out some of the supplies you had bought a few days prior making Dwalin smirk seeing the tray of bacon burgers and some steak fries. Sodas, water bottles were set out with plates around the table that you expanded.
Peering into the doorway as the men finished hoisting the mattresses onto the upper levels after having added the lower ones you watched them all look over the final effect then turned at the youngest one tapping the others and turning to see you. “Hi, looks good.”
The head man nodded and said, “We’re so glad you like them. Shouldn’t take long to clean up.”
“Well I made some burgers and fries, you guys look hungry.” Gratitude blended to compliments and muffled chatter through the meal they helped to clean up after filling the sink with ample thanks keeping hold of their still unfinished drinks they took out to the truck then got to cleaning up. The head builder showed you the finer details of everything and was pleased at your own climb up the steps between the beds to crawl into the two top beds. Checking each of the shelves came next and excitedly you thanked the team again and handed over the 2k check for the install fee they wrote you out a receipt. For them as well more pear circled J Pear autographs were handed out before their filing back into their truck leaving you alone again.
Already anticipating it Dwalin grinned in your tight hug around his middle he returned before asking, “Need my help for anything?”
You shook your head saying, “Was just gonna bring out the sheets and stuff for that room so I can wash them when I get back from the trip. In case you have to head home to pack or anything.”
With a grin he chuckled saying, “I am packed, Frodo however, is not. Everything does look amazing. I will see you on the plane, Dear.”
You nodded accepting his next hug, “See you then you big softie.” Making him chuckle and join you for the walk to your still open garage he backed out of allowing you to close it while he pulled away heading home again.
Exhaling sharply you went to bring out the things for that room you set in that room, which you smirked standing in admiring it all, including the curtains that you tied back and lowered the internal shades readying for your trip, a task you repeated in each guest room. Opening the greenhouse door again you gave the all clear that the house was all yours again. Dishes were next with enough in the washer to start it freeing you to head back to the living room to wait until you could put them away again.

You slowly opened your eyes and were immediately confused. You were in your room, but you felt someone’s arms around you.
You drank almost an entire bottle of wine last night, so needless to say, you didn’t really remember anything. You didn’t think you slept with someone… But did you?
The body groaned, but you still couldn’t figure out who it was because the lights were off and blackout curtains closed. You pushed their shoulder a bit and heard a british voice say “Whaa?”
“Tom?” You asked incredulously.
“Good morning, darling,” he said. His voice was raspy and low, so incredibly sexy.
“What are you doing here? Why are you shirtless, where are my pants?! Did we- ohmigod tell me we didn’t…”
“You don’t remember?” He asked and you shook your head, still very aware that his arm was around you and your legs were intertwined. “Relax, we didn’t have sex, love. We just hung out and then watched a movie and fell asleep.”
“Then where’s your shirt?” He laughed.
“You’re wearing it. You were cold and wouldn’t let me leave the bed, so I gave it to you.” You bit your lip, very uncomfortable. It was one thing to sleep with someone and not remember it, but to spend the entire night cuddling? You weren’t a couple, who does that?!
“Oh. I’m sorry.” You said and sat up, untangling your body from his.
“What are you apologizing for?” He asked.
“I mean… I’m your tutor, we’re just becoming friends, it’s weird for us to-to sleep in the same bed together and-”
“Y/N, slow down. We’re friends. It’s really not a big deal, totally platonic. I mean, c’mon, you’ve never slept in the same bed as Kyle? Or Emily?”
“No, I have…” “Then what’s the big deal?” He asked.
“I guess there isn’t one…” You replied. Tom swung his leg over the side of the bed, stretching and getting his stuff together. You couldn’t help but watch his back muscles flex when he stretched. You wanted to run your fingernails along it.
“I gotta take care of some stuff, I’ll see you later today?” He asked. You nodded.
“Sure, I’ll see you later. Wait, Tom!” You said before he could walk out the door.
“Yes?” He turned back to look at you.
“You’re, uhm… You need your sweatshirt back.” You started to take it off.
“I’m only going down two floors. You look comfy anyway.” He said and smiled at you before walking out.
You lied back down in bed, picking up your phone and checking the alerts. You scrolled through all the drunk texts from last night, laughing at a lot of them.

A few hours. That’s plenty of time for you to put your glasses on, earbuds in, and really focus on your homework.
* * *
You were pulled from your law reading by a knock at the door. You opened it, seeing Tom in a soccer tee shirt and gray sweatpants. His hair was wet and he ran his fingers through it.
You hoped he didn’t see the fact that you bit your lip, but you couldn’t help yourself. He just looked so incredibly sexy.
“You look... “ His eyes scanned your body and you immediately wrapped your arms around you, insecure.
“What?”
“No, you just never wear stuff like this in front of me. You’re always so put together.”
“Your point?”
“You look cute, that’s all.” Tom said and walked into the room. He thought you were cute? No, you needed to calm down, he’s the biggest player ever, he didn’t mean anything. Just some accidental flirting.
“I brought tequila, Harrison said it’s your favorite.” He said and dropped his backpack on the floor and put the tequila on the table where you kept your booze.
“That’s sweet of you, thank you, it is my favorite.” “Really? I thought he was joking.” “No, why?”
“You’re just… you’re really something else, Y/N.” He said with a laugh.
You grabbed your notebooks and started the session, you checking his homework, him redoing the mistakes, and you answering any questions he had about the material.
“You’ve definitely made an improvement,” you said as you finished reading his essay on the power shifts in England from the 1600s to today.
“Thank you? I think?”
“You’re welcome. You’re almost there, but you’re still not incorporating this source correctly.”
“That’s because that source makes no sense. The writing is so convoluted, it’s mental!”
“Then why don’t you find a new source?” You asked.
“Well… I thought I’d be easier if I just stuck with this one.” Normally you would have rolled your eyes at that, but instead you found yourself laughing.
“Read it again,” You said and handed him the library book he was using as his last source, “And if you still can’t understand it, I can explain it or we can just find a new source.”
You grabbed your own book, Rage Becomes Her, which you were reading for your Women, Politics, and Public Policy class, and started highlighting right where you left off.
You both got lost in your books, highlighting and annotating in silence. Every once in a while Tom would stop to ask you about a particular passage.
It was another hour or so before you both heard a knock on your door. You got up to open it, and as soon as you did Emily burst into the room, Harrison right behind her holding three pizzas.
“TOM!” Emily said and tackled him in a hug. “It’s so good to see you again!” “I didn’t realize you two had met,” you said and helped Harrison with the pizzas.
“Just once,” Tom said with a laugh. He made himself comfortable on your bed instead of the floor, Harrison took a seat on your comfy chair and Emily made herself comfortable on his lap.
“I better leave this unlocked,” you said. “I would offer you guys a drink, but Isabelle and Ally are-”
“Did someone say something about a drink?” Isabelle said, pushing the door opened.
“What’s up bitches,” Ally said and put a bottle of wine, svedka, prosecco, and a 30 on the booze table.
“How long do you guys anticipate this storm lasting, because that is a LOT of booze for 7 people,” you commented.
“Lighten up, babe, it’s not like we have to drink it all tonight.” Isabelle responded.
“Better to be safe than sorry.” Ally said with a mischievous grin. They greeted the others in the room when you heard a knock on your door.
“I heard there was a party happening here?” Cal said as he pushed open the door. You closed it all the way behind him so no one else could stumble in.
After everyone introduced themselves to each other, Harrison said “So what does everyone want to play first?”
“Oh, you’re new.” Ally said. “See, we kinda of have an agenda.” “Is that so?” Harrison asked. Emily kissed his cheek. “Tell me more.”
“Well the first time we had a snow day, we took turns picking our favorite games, and then we just stuck with that formula. First is A which means kings,” Isabelle said. “Then Emily, which means never have I ever. Then me, which means truth or dare. And then Y/N.”
“And what does Y/N pick?” Tom asked.
“Y/N picks poker, of course. But most of the time were too drunk to get there.” Ally said.
“Yeah I really got the short end of the stick there. It’s a good formula, though.” You replied and grabbed a deck of cards and a beer.
“Let’s go, boys and girls.” You said. Everyone sat in a circle, the beer in the middle like you were worshipping it, and you spread out the cards in a circle around it. You saw Tom and Harrison exchange a look across the circle.
“Something wrong?” You asked.
“Well… Don’t judge us, but we’ve never played this game before. They don’t have it in England.” Everyone else laughed quietly at Harrison’s statement.
“It’s easy. Everyone picks a card, and each card has an action assigned to it. Ace is waterfall,” You said.
“Two is you, so you pick someone to drink.” Isabelle said.
“Three is me, so you drink.” Cal said as you went around the circle explaining the rules.
“Four is floor, so the last person to slap the floor loses.” Emily said.
“Five is guys,” Ally said.
“Six is chicks,” You said and the circle started again.
“Seven is heaven, so last person to touch the ceiling drinks.”
“Eight is date, so you pick someone and whenever one of you drinks the other has to too, for the rest of the game.”
“Nine is rhyme, so you go around the circle saying words that rhyme and the person who can’t continue the rhymes drinks.”
“Ten is categories, so it’s the same as nine but with a category of something, like animals.”
“Jack is never have I ever.”
“Queen is questions, so the next person who answers a question they ask drinks.”
“And finally, king is the ruler, so you make a rule that everyone has to follow until the next king is pulled.”
“Make sense?” You asked.
“Not one bit.” Tom responded.
“You’ll get the hang of it, I promise it gets easier.” You said. “Al goes first.”
“Why?” Harrison asked.
“Gay goes first.” The four of you said in unison. The boys looked scared. They had no idea what they had gotten themselves into.
“One last rule. First drink is a shot of your chosen poison. After that, you can drink whatever you want.” You explained as Isabelle gave each person a shot glass and the handles of hard liquor were passed around.
“Four,” Ally said and everyone slapped the floor except Tom and Harrison. Harrison realized first, so you watched as Tom downed the shot across the circle. He tensed his jaw after, which made you wet already. When he saw you looking at him, he winked at you.
Your turn was next, so you quickly pulled a card, a six, so you and the other girls did your shots and then began to pour yourselves your chosen drinks. For you, that was a second shot of tequila and then a rum and orange soda.
“Two.” Isabelle said with a grin. “I choose our kings sponsor, miss Alexandria Park.” Everyone whooped as Ally dramatically took a sip of her beer.
“Five,” Cal said. The boys took their shots, except Tom who took a sip of his beer.
“My turn then?” Tom said and drew a card. “Eight. Which one is that?”
“Date. You pick someone and for the rest of the game whenever one of you drinks, the other has to too.” Cal explained. Tom looked around the circle, but you already suspected who he was going to pick.
“Y/N,” he said. “Would you care to be my date?”
“You’re exhausting, Holland. What, are you trying to get me drunk or something?” That shut him up, right as Harrison said ‘seven’ and everyone reached for the ceiling except Tom, who groaned and complained about having to drink again.
Cal was the one who finally popped the beer and had to chug it. You put the cards to the side and everyone held up ten fingers, already ready for never have I ever.
Things started off innocent enough, with Emily sharing that she had never peed in a pool. By the time you all went once and it was Harrison’s turn, he made things more interesting.
“Never have I ever slept with more than 15 different people.” You and Tom were the only ones who clapped.
Harrison rolled his eyes. “Jesus fucking christ, it’s like you guys were made for each other.” He commented. Your face got red, which Emily noticed, so she went quickly next.
You finally lost, getting rid of your ten fingers before anyone else. You were always a bag of secrets, and Tom found himself learning more and more things about you he didn’t know. Like that you had a tattoo, or that you’ve gone skinny dipping, or that you’ve never had a gin and tonic.
You were all wasted, that was clear. Isabelle was in between Cal’s legs on the floor, leaning her back against his chest. Ally was lying on the couch all by herself, upside down. Harrison was in your big chair with Emily on his lap, and you and Tom were on your bed, you lying on your stomach and him sitting against the headboard.
“Isabelle, truth or dare?” Cal asked.
“Dare,” she said, looking back at him.
“I dare you to ditch your friends and come back to my room with me.” He said.
Isabelle shared a look with all of you before saying “Sorry guys, I’m not one to turn down a dare.” They grabbed the half-drunk bottle of prosecco on their way out.
“Al, truth or dare?” Emily asked. This went on until Ally passed out from drinking, still upside down.
“We’ll get her home.” Harrison said. He picked Ally up as Emily collected their stuff and bid you and Tom good night. You both sat in silence for a few minutes, when Tom’s phone lit up.
“Do you mind if I chill here for a while? I’ll stay on the couch if you want to go to sleep, but Harrison just said him and Emily want some alone time and her roommate is home.”
“Of course, I don’t mind.” You responded. You stumbled off the bed, going to pour yourself another drink.
“Ok, Y/N.” Tom said, moving so he was sitting on the edge of the bed. “Truth or dare?” You turned to look at him and saw a dark look in his brown eyes.
“Dare.”
“I dare you to kiss me.”

-Sorry if I forgot anyone, list is getting long😍💕 As always thanks for the overwhelming support guys❤️ Love y’all❤️
Arthur POV
In a matter of seconds I caught (y/n) in my arms. I felt horrible about this whole situation. I knew that she never wanted to be in an arranged marriage...she wanted to fall in love. This is why this whole situation killed me. I was the reason my best friend wouldn’t be happy and I couldn't live with that, but I had too. My country and my father needed me, this marriage would secure an alliance with both Frankia and Kattegat, but she would be caught in a situation she wouldn't want and that kills me inside. Holding her close I look towards her father and uncle as to ask for permission to take her to one of their rooms here. “Here, take her to mine... It’s where she's been staying for the past couple of months...” says the dark haired one that was sitting with her earlier. He’s been eyeing me since I walked through the doors and I have a feeling we won't be the best of friends. Not paying much attention to the eery feeling I’m getting, I balance (y/n) in my arms and follow the young prince. Reaching the doors to the room, I make my way inside after him. Walking towards the bed I place her down and then turn towards him. I find him staring at me with what seems like rage and jealousy in his eyes. Why would he be jealous? It’s his sister, he should be glad that she's at least engaged to someone she knows and not some strange old man...
“Could you perhaps see if one of the thralls could get me a bucket of water and a clean cloth? I want to make sure she's okay and doesn't get a fever.” Without any expression on his face he slams the door on his way out. Turning towards her on the bed, I catch a small strand of her (y/h/c) hair and tuck it away behind her ears. “Im so sorry that you have to go through this... I wish there was another way...” It wasn't until I felt her hands caress my cheeks that I knew she was awake and alright.“Arthur, it is not your fault. Someone has been out to get me since I stepped foot back in Kattegat, if anything you’re my salvation.” The tears in my eyes fell down my cheeks like a waterfall. I embraced her and whispered sweet nothings into her ear. Whether it was to calm myself or her I could not tell by now. All I knew was that I would do anything to protect her, even if that meant laying down my life for her.
Your POV
My mind still had not processed and grabbed onto the dire state of this situation. Arthur was to be my husband. A younger version of myself could probably not contain her happiness, but now... Now I feel lost and indecisive. On one hand Arthur is the most magnificent person in this world. He’s my best friend and we know each other to our very cores. In the other however is Ivar. The one person besides Arthur that I can really be myself around. However, that what intrigues me about him is his mysterious and eery vibe. Arthur is my comfort and safe space, but Ivar is the unknown. And Im intrigued by the fact that I still haven't figured him out. He truly challenges me and that excites me in every way possible...
Tumblr media
“Im sorry, to interrupt you love birds, but if the damsel in distress is finally alright father would like us all to meet in the town square.” Ivar’s voice booms throughout the once quiet bedroom. At the sound of his voice I quickly let go of our embrace and turn towards Ivar with shock in my eyes. Ivar only looked at me for 3 seconds with no emotion in his eyes and left the room. It felt like my heart shattered in that instant. I had hurt him, unintentionally. But, I still hurt him.
All I could do was stare at the spot where he once stood. Unbeknownst to me, Arthur saw our whole interaction. “It’s him isn't it?” He asked me while looking out towards the window. “Huh?” “He's the one you're in love with right?” At his words I couldn't come up with an excuse. I couldn't deny it, I wouldn't deny it. Not to Arthur, he knew everything about me. And I knew everything about him and the love he always held for me. “He’s your brother (y/n), it will never work. Let alone it is a sin against God.” He voiced to me. “I know... But I cannot get rid of this feeling. Ive tried to let him go, believe me I tried. But, every time that I get close to leaving him behind, he pulls be right back in and I don’t want to leave anymore. I love him...” Tears fell down my cheeks by this moment. I didn't have anyone that I could tell these things to, since Mira was killed. She was usually the one I would be all sappy around, but I couldnt hold it in anymore. Arthur sighed and kneeled in front of me. “Although I may not approve of your choice and wish that it had been me that would receive that kind of love from you once again. I understand and will support you no matter what. Even if that means losing the love of my life.” Arthur places his soft tender lips on my forehead. And with that he grasps my hand in his and we walk towards the door. Neither one of us acknowledging the fact that he just admitted that he was in love with me.
--------------------------------
Tumblr media
Bjorn POV
I couldn’t believe it. That piece of scum had destroyed by family once again. Why was it that Aslaug had it out for my sister so much? Staring out towards what once was a place filled with happy memories, I cannot help but let myself breakdown. The tears that Ive held back for years poured out of my eyes. The rejection, the disappointment and the overbearing feeling that I could not protect my sisters once again took over me. “Why! Why is it that you make me suffer this way! Have I not done enough for you! Have I not conquered lands in your name and murdered millions with my sword to earn a place in Valhalla! And for what? For you to come and take my family from me once again!” My sobs couldn't be heard by anyone. But it felt good to finally let out all this anger and sadness that I had been struggling with throughout most of my life. From the cliff I could see a perfect view of Kattegat. Especially the square, where our family and the people of Kattegat were now gathered. My father would announce the marriage of my sister to Arthur. He was a good man, but he wasn't the one for her. She loved Ivar and it was evident. I knew my sister more than anyone on this earth and I knew 100% that they loved each other. What impeded them form being together however was the fact that they were siblings. But in truth they weren't and that was something that I had to tell them...
-------------------------------
As I approach the square I can hear the voice of my father. Booming, and making its way through the square. Out the corner of my eye I could see Torvi making her way towards me. We were playing happy family in front of everyone, but earlier in the week I had asked her for a divorce. I could not be with someone who would hurt my family deliberately, no matter what. “Hey, your father has been looking for you everywhere they're about to announce your sister’s engagement.” She says excitedly. “I know” with that short reply I shake her hands off of my arm and make my way towards my family. (Y/n) is standing beside Arthur sneaking glances over to where Ivar stands, beside Aslaug. I can tell that he is doing his best to ignore her, but you can see the pain in his eyes as well. Aslaug looks as triumphant as ever. A huge smile graces her lips and at that my blood begins to boil. “Bjorn! Over here!” (y/n) calls me over a huge smile on her lips when she sees me walking over. At that I feel myself calm down, my sisters are the only people that could ever achieve to bring me down from the edge. Not even my mother could do so and that is why we have such a special bond and why this hurts me so much. I know that its for her own protection, but the thought of losing (y/n) again is something unfathomable to me. Something that I wish was not a reality, but has sadly become one. “Bjorn, thank you for being here. It truly means a lot to me to be able to depend and count on you. Now more than ever. I hope that the ties between England, Frankia and Kattegat may now be stronger and unwavering.” Arthur says whilst shaking my hand. I respect him, he's a good man that I know will take care of (y/n) and for that I did not oppose this union. “Thank you, as do I Arthur. All I can hope for is that you make my sister happy. And that she will have everything she deserves and desires. Free from persecution from those we call family...” I murmur the last part just so that she can hear what Im implying.
Your POV
Could it be? Were Bjorn’s assumptions true? Could Aslaug truly be the one behind all of this? My father’s announcement of my engagement went by as quick as the breeze. I couldn’t even tell if he had finished or not till I hear the cheering of our people. The wedding was to be held later on in the week, I tried my best to put on a fake smile so that no one knew how I was truly feeling inside. But in truth I was devastated, the fact that I would not only marry someone I wasn't in love with, but the fact I had to flee from my home again was killing me inside. And the mother of the man I loved could have very well been behind it all...
As the people begin to celebrate I murmur to Arthur that I will retire early to my bedchambers. He only nods and gives me a sad smile seemed with a kiss on my forehead. I quickly rush to my room and shut the door behind me. Throwing myself on the bed I scream and let all of my frustration out onto the pillows that hold mine and Ivar’s heads at night. Hugging them close trying to imprint that scent into my memory as hard as I can. I did not notice the dark hooded figure that was behind me and that was my mistake. “(Y/n) Lothbrok... Long time no see” My whole body is drained of its (s/t) colour and that is when I turn around facing the man that haunted my dreams since I was a small child.
“F..Floki...”
Tumblr media
Ivar’s POV
I can't believe that the one person that I have grown to love is now being ripped away from me. This must be a sick joke that Odin is playing with me. It cannot be that when I have become so close to finding true happiness that it is ripped away from me so easily. No! I will not stand for this! Making my way away from the so called “celebrations” I begin to walk towards our room. Before I could prance in and let (y/n) know that we would be running away tonight. My mouth is covered and I am too pulled into another room. Ready to kill whoever has pulled me I begin to reach for my knife. “I swear to Odin, if you try and stab me I will kill you Ivar...” Bjorn says before letting go of me. Before I could scream at him however, Bjorn continues. “Do not scream or talk until I get this out please. And this information that I am about to share with you is very sensitive and is known by only a few members of our family so hush. You understand puppy?” Nodding at him in disbelief, I motion for him to continue. It is then that he proceeds to tell me about how he had met (y/n) and the day that she was born. “That’s all nice Bjorn, but what do I care about the day of our sister’s birth?” I say a bot irritated at the fact that I could've been half way gone by now with (y/n) if he had not pulled me in here.
“You're gonna care when I tell you that I will no longer stand in your way, or be against you both being together. I see the way you look at each other and its the same way that my parents looked at each other before your mother got in the way.” I roll my eyes at his last remark. “Ivar, I beg you to take (y/n) away as far away from here as possible. Especially away from your mother. She's the one behind all the killings and she is willing to do anything to get (y/n) not only away from here and our family. But if possible out of this world.” Anger rises in me and I begin to shake. “Why is it that my mother is always the one to get shit on. She’s a beautiful woman that would not hurt anyone or anything. The fact that you have gone touch lengths to try and make some story up about she wants (y/n) dead is absurd. But I will entertain your stupid idea, just because I’m curious Bjorn. Now, tell me why is it that my mother wishes to kill our sister?”
Tumblr media
“Because Ivar, (y/n) isn't our sister. She's the priest’s daughter. Our father’s best friend that your mother ordered Floki to kill... Which is why he’s been gone so long. It was a plot to kill the only proof that Vikings and Christians could co-exist. They wanted to make sure that no one would know about the Christian-Viking child and they would do anything to protect that.” After hearing Bjorn out, I knew that there was some truth to what he was saying. My mother and Floki hated the Christian God and would do anything to erase him from the minds of our people. I made my way out the room where Bjorn and I were and made my way to mine. Turning the doorknob I find that the room is locked and rustling and screaming could be heard on the other side. Panicked set in and I tried hurling myself on the door multiple times in order to break it down, but it would budge.
The real panic set in when the rustling and screaming stopped. For then I knew that I was too late...

YO u got any ideas on what i can build on a multiplayer minecraft server im on with some friends? So far ive built a wizard tower with several smaller floating towers connected to it that i use as my base and a chuch and graveyard. I want to add more building and such but im stumped as to what else i can make. On the server we have a soup kitchen, library and waterburger already as well as a giant cube. Any ideas are appreciated thanks and have a good day.
Ooh boy it's Big Brain Time
-Just a GIANT horse stable with one of every single different horse pattern, then give them all different cute names!
-U could also make a petting zoo!!
-More animal stuff, but a huge pen with every different color of sheep
-A simple little modern house OR a big ass modern house (add a bunch of rooms that u normally wouldn't think of, like a walk in closet, a garage, basement, etc!)
-A really cute, pretty cottage in the nether
-A giant fish aquarium shaped like a glass bottle
-A hidden underwater hideout
-Some various underwater statues made of prismarine
-An unreasonably large wheat field with props like a Scarecrow, tractor, hay bales, etc!
-A whole ass farm tbh, complete with a barn and animals and big fields of crops
-A floating island with waterfalls flowing from it (bonus points if it's over an ocean, BONUS bonus points if it's over a coral reef)
-A room made entirely out of doors filled to the brim with bunnies. Don't open the doors.
-A really big tree! My favorite places to build big trees are in the middle of a lake, on a cliff, etc. You could also build a giant pot for it and build it in the pot, like it's a bonsai but really big
-A rainbow made of colored glass
-A crescent moon, hung by a string in the sky
-A snake winding around a forest or a mountain or something
-Build your own coral reef!
-Dolphin/turtle sanctuary
-A panda sanctuary
-A bird aviary
-Just blow up a giant, deep hole in the ground and build a house floating above it, being suspended and held by giant chains/rope on the edges of the cliff
-A big ol hedge maze!
Shhdkfkfh that's a lot and they might be hard to do (idk if ur in survival or creative so sorry if some of these seem too difficult to do!!!) I hope these help!

“Scifi anon, howdy- I just realised I have my own tag and I'm so?? Flattered?? I've had a brain wave with the general, what if the Solution didn't asexually make their soldiers, but rather take in 'lost' or orphaned children and raise them to beleive in the Solution And this's partially because I have another character from the solution, and while I'm happy with her design I wanted to do something different for the general, so I had the thought of,, bird alien,, feathers fluff up when they're
Mad I'm not sure how many bird features I want them to have though, I'm thinking their original planet if full of cliffs and waterfalls and stuff, so i might mix in some amphibian Anyway, the children from the Solution are there either from an age where they wouldn't remember life beforehand, or because they were abandoned and believe the Solution saved them, they're given like,, serial numbers,, to identify them, and when they're promoted (to general, for example) they're given names for
Easier identification, and it's a huge thing for them. The general's story is pretty simple, to start off with, they were taken from their family (one of the 'lost' children) as a baby, and was bought up with the Solution's ideologies, they were promoted, and have become a general, and they're really proud of themself, and want to continue moving up the ranks and maybe even meet the emperor of the Solution one day And then one day, while they were commanding a small ship, they were attacked
Some rebels who escaped, but completely trashed their engine, so they end up crashing on some small moon next to some wasteland They're the only survivor, and while they keep making reports, updating the Solution about their condition, it's been months, and they're beginning to think there's no one coming for them. They've explored this moon, and below the surface, there's an underground base, with technology so old, it isn't even on their system But they did find what they think are stasis
Pods, and there's a lifeforms in one of them, a species they've never seen before, they'd wake up this lifeforms, but they have no idea how the technology works, they can't even read or identify the language, and they don't wanna risk hurting them, so the pod becomes a part of their daily routine, they try to make repairs to their crashed ship, although they don't know the first thing about mechanics, make a report on their conditions in the futile hope that someone's coming for them,
Despite them losing hope, doubting it but sending them anyway, and talking to the pod about whatever's on their mind Maybe the Solution isn't all they though it was? Side note, the mechanic's parents are still alive, she doesn't remember them, and has her own adopted family on Terra (that's what I'm calling the earth now) i always planned that herher parents didn't abandon her, but I had the thought that what if they got separated, and thought she was taken by the Solution so they're
Infiltrating Solution settlements, looking for their lost child, hoping they can find her after all despite years of trying, they haven't stopped looking since they were separated Also, the general is non-binary, and I'm feeling a-spec”
Hey sci fi anon! hope you don’t my me compiling all this together for readability!
im very big into the Solution taking “lost” children- the way you could play with the propoganda of like “oh we RESCURED you from being ABANDONED” when in reality they were taken would be super cool to explore! LOVE angry birb feathers a la ghibli hair.
nonbinary + a-spec is a POWERFUL combo
every update about this story is so fucking cool like anon..ur mind

DAY 1
Day 1
Why am here in Drakensberg 2 weeks before the holiday? I have come to look for salvation. I have come to try to clear my soul, to rid myself of the crippling sadness. Maybe if I dissect what happened, I can clean myself out and start anew. Maybe if I start at the beginning of what brought me here to this moment, I can shed all the agony I feel inside. I look at the ruins of my life and feel awe and horror in equal measure.
I am sure, if most the world turned into zombies and people started eating each other, it would have been less destructive to my life, then what actually occurred
  “Healing isn’t pretty
But the other side is fucking beautiful”
I want to find my beautiful
I need to find my other side
But let’s look at the here and now. First today, then I will open the door to past
Today I drove down a road that never ends. I walked up a mountain. I swam in an icy cool rock pool. I stood under a waterfall. Well, more like water trickle. The water run so slowly across the rock, it looked like the rock was leaking water. I walked on a mountain trail that ended abruptly and then thought...what the hell...I am a seasoned hiker. I will just make my own path
And of course I got lost on same said mountain
 Now the shoe story:
I usually buy my hiking boots 1 number bigger, so 7. Turns out a UK 7 are a SA 5. In retrospect the shop attendant did mention something like that.....But I was in such a rush...I didn’t really want to hear it
As soon as I put it on, I could feel my toes scrunch up uncomfortably in the front of the shoe.
I know what you thinking: Why didn’t I try them on in the shop?
Sad thing is: I DID!!!! I was just so rushed and felt they are a bit tight, but thought: “ag well....Gotto go!”
So when I got to Mahai trail, I stopped and put my hiking boots on. I knew I will never make it in these shoes, but low and behold my red Cape Town tekkies was in the car! A very light shoe and thin sole. Very fashionable. It actually went ok, because big parts of the trail are paved. It’s when I got lost and had to trample through the knee high grass and brush that they desperately failed my.
 Now the hike story
So here I am tramping through the thick foliage and I thought, just keep going downwards. All roads (excuse the pun...cause there was none – IM A POET!) lead to Rome right?! WRONG. The further I went the more impossible it was to continue on my chosen path. I was thoroughly lost. After about 20min, I was getting a bit anxious and tired. After all, I had hiked a good hour to get to this nowhere spot. In my now buggered red fashion tekkies
Then I had a brain wave. Just use the GPS. I was so relieved to see I was only 3 minute walk away from the car park and started walking with new enthusiasm. Turns out GPS does not take gorges, thick foliage and sheer cliff drops into account.
Now I was really nervous, I was just getting more and more lost! And a storm was brewing. Not in my head this time.  A real storm. In the sky above. I didn’t even look around when I heard the lightning behind me. I was scared enough already. Didn’t have to see that shit
So prayed and asked God to please show me the trail. God definitely has a sense of humour. As I got to the top of the hill, shortly after my plea to God, I saw a trail. On a hill about 2 hills away.
Ok God, thank you. Very funny. Let me be a little bit more specific with the request I send up to You: Can the route I am now following cross a trail. On this hill. In about 5 min or so. Else my faith will start failing, I threatened, and neither of us wants that. I remembered the lightning and shot a smile up to the sky, so God knows I was only joking
I made peace with the fact that I would have to back track to the waterfall and link up to the trail from there. There was no way to back track onto my original trail. I had no idea where it was. So I just kept walking, jumping and climbing in the general direction. Eventually I found my way to the little creek somewhere below the waterfall. I had already seen the trail on the other side of the creek, as I was coming down the hill. Now there was a lot of scrambling down. Sliding on my bum, jumping and climbing involved in getting to the other side and of course, I could not see the trail again. After climbing across a bunch of boulders and still not seeing the trail, I exclaimed out load: Ag give me a break! And as I said this I saw an African Lady in a bright red dress walking towards me on the trail that was hidden from me by the long grass. I gave God a small smile and said: You funny guy. And thank you
  Day 1 pre life destruction
I was standing in my kitchen the day my soul-mate, best friend and lover fell in love with a girl. An icy wind swept through my soul. The experience was so intense I gasped for air. And I knew. I did not know exactly what I knew. I just knew, like only women do.
I looked up and through the window. It felt like there was a storm brewing. Not in the physical world. Deeper, much deeper than that.
If I had a Weasley clock the arm would have swung to “grave peril”.
I had a beautiful quintessential life. A lovely perfect family unit. I adored my partner. He was my whole world. And he adored me
But change was coming for us all, like a monstrous beast.
My handsome, brooding teenage son sauntered through the kitchen. I watched him exit the door and a groan escaped my lips.
The anguish in my soul was so unfathomable and yet so real. Every breath caused me pain. Well that is what I thought pain was. I had no idea how intimately I would get to know that word.
My daughter was making singing noises somewhere in the house. Completely unaware of what was to come
He was the spindle of our household. He was our silent strength. He was our guardian. He was our protector.
He would now become our spindle and our chainsaw in equal measure. The same man that had kept us together will relentlessly rip at us, until there was nothing left, but ruin.
He came home from work, but I said nothing of what I had experienced in the kitchen that day. What do you say? Wait for the man you have loved and adored most of your adult life and say: “Hey honey, an icy wind blew through my soul today and I want to ask you: Please don’t. I don’t know what exactly, but please don’t.”
Of course my mind immediately contradicted the unexplained visceral reaction of my soul. “He is your best friend. He has been for many years. There is no logic to this. You are happy. You have such an intense connection with each other. This can’t be real. Your soul must be confused.”
And so the war between your soul and your mind begins
At that moment the journey started, that almost destroyed all of me. The contradiction of the untruths you hear from the man you love and trust implicitly and what your soul whispers to you night and day. The relentless need to believe the man you adore and disregard what you feel, but cannot explain. So begins the destruction of self. The erosion of the confident women you once were. I had a choice: Hang on to your belief and keep your self-worth or disregard yourself in favour of the mate you believed you know.
The same man who completed me for so long was about to unstitch me, our home, our life, our world. One stitch at a time. He would slowly, methodically over an extended period of time rip chunks out of my soul. When he was done, my soul looked like it had been through a shark attack.
It’s not the affair that destroys you; it’s the lies and deceit.
But in all fairness, I did a fair amount of tearing my soul apart myself. In order to believe him I had to doubt myself. The reality was just too dreadful.
This war between my soul and its knowing and my mind and its denial, would take me to the brink of insanity
Over a period of months, this man I have loved and adored would introduce me to the word hopeless. He would make anguish my constant companion. He would bring despair into my bed and watch it ride me into the night
He would watched all of this happening to me, day after day, week after week, month after month and show me only exhaustion and exasperation at my inability to keep it together
He would repeatedly say: I am just having fun. I am not doing anything wrong
If you think it’s the truth that destroys you, you wrong. The truth just explains the devastation you already experience. I looked at the ruin of what I was. I had no concrete explanation for it.
Once the truth was out, there was a strange kind of peace in knowing the dreadful truth. It ended the war between my mind and my soul.
And then he sat back with a raised eyebrow, as if he was saying: Now rebuilt it. Fix you. I’m waiting. Impatiently. I want....I want ....I want...
The problem with an affair is that the war is raged between the walls of your home. With every shot, every cannonball you destroy your own world.
I wander in between the torn and bombed remains of my mind. I look at my ripped and scattered soul and I’m astounded at the damage I had done to myself.
For the love of a man
And I ask amazed, can love do this?
And my tattered soul whispers yes
And my mind screams no!
And so the war begins again

august 2018
August is still fairly clear to me but i want to include it for context.
We finalized plans to move in to our first apartment, and my roommate (now my girlfriend) moved up there and started a job at jc penney (a job she ended up hating for good reason). I was still living at my dad’s house in Tacoma, and made frequent trips up to Bellingham to move my stuff in to my new room. The first trip I took up there had been in July, and the second trip was in the beginning of August, where I picked up GF’s friend H from the hospital and we drove up together and listed the names of all the US presidents and talked about them. I was glad to have such a long-winded conversation topic because im not good at making casual conversation. While up there, we met up with our friend J and their friend M and went to Haggen and got supplies for smores, then went to teddy bear cove and made smores with a lighter because we couldnt have a firepit. The sun began to set, that sunset lives in my memory brighter than anything that happened that day. We walked down to the water and I swan in the freezing bay, the sun made the water look golden and hazy. A group of guys sat up on the cliff and sang, i don’t remember what they were singing but it was nice. I swam farther than anyone else did, all the way past the cliffs and into the open water. I felt like i was floating through the air, like nothing else in life mattered than that single moment. I had friends, I had an apartment, I had a promising academic career, I had everything i could’ve wanted and I was swimming in the sunset. it got dark, and we could faintly see the bioluminescent bacteria in the water. It got cold, we talked for a little while, we went home and dried off. i left Bellingham and dropped H off at home in seattle.
i went to the interactive introverts concert in seattle at the moore theatre. I was older than a lot of people there - not including parents - but not so old as to be uncool, i got a lot of admiring looks from teens, i felt so cool. i wore black boots and my witchy hat and sunglasses (not inside). i remember being at the concert, i remember wishing i had brought earplugs, as the crowd was very very loud. dan and phil’s voices were high-pitched in my ears the whole time. im so glad i got to see them in person, they saved me in high school (more about them later).
I worked at a retail store back then, but i have very little memory of actually working. I would eat the little packets of gummy bears my boss had on the shelf when no one else was around. I remember being the last person there every night I worked, as i was the only part timer that knew how to close the shop. I got through those last few weeks happily knowing i’d never have to work there again.
i went back to bellingham. J and GF and I played the sims 4 in GF’s room, we made our DND characters. We ate poutine and drank wine at J’s house. I think we watched a movie?
I suddenly felt the need for it to be fall. You know the feeling you had on the first day of school as kid, where you were old enough to know fall had begun but young enough to not know when it started? As I’ve gotten older, my mind has anticipated this feeling earlier and earlier, to the point where mid-august my brain tells me it’s time for autumn. I sat in my dad’s living room while he and his girlfriend N (now his second wife, technically my stepmom) rearranged the furniture.
I was participating the HK Week for the bou/eibu fandom. it was the first time I felt comfortable posting fanfiction online, and it’s still the only fandom i’ve written for. I wrote fanfiction on the couch while burning an autumnal candle.
we went to rattlesnake lake (me, my dad, and N), it was foggy and cold, we brought our dog. I want to go back, but now that we live in Oregon it’s very far away. Maybe i can ask to go there this thanksgiving or christmas if i visit one of my parents. We went to a waterfall too, which one was it?
I had my last day of work, and my boss insisted she throw a party for me. I had to go back to the store later that week. My mom worked for my boss’ husband at the time at a uhaul distribution office, they were having a barbecue and asked me to come. I said yes. I needed to get my car serviced and that was the only day I could do it. how was i ok with being so busy that day. I drove out to my mom’s work. I talked with her coworkers, her office felt fake. like they didn’t actually work there. I helped my mom with the BBQ and we ate meat and corn and other things I dont remember. (later my mom would quit that job because her checks kept bouncing). then I drove out to my old workplace. I didn’t realize how big this party would be, but everyone from the building was there, some even got me presents. a woman who sold tupperware gave ma a catalogue and told me to pick out anything i wanted. one of my favorite coworkers got me a slow-cooker recipe book that i still use. i don’t know why they were so nice to me - i offered nothing of value to their company or their lives - that’s not me talking down on myself, it’s the truth. But now thinking about it - if I had the opportunity to gift a young college student something that would make their life a little easier, hell yes i would do it. I suppose they were all trying to invest in my future as if it were their own. i went to the car dealership with a trunk full of presents, they offered me a vacuum and i told them to work around the presents. I like being at the dealership. Something about being in a waiting room when your car is being serviced is comforting. You are literally only responsible for sitting quietly and waiting - maybe it reminds me of being a kid.
i packed up my furniture in the back of my dad’s truck on the last day of august. i moved in to my new apartment on september 1st, and the card tower of happiness i’d built felt its first breeze.

Oliness on the road together and it's a really hot day so they stop to swim under a waterfall? (starts out playful then things get steamy?)
im a SUCKER for things like this omfg stop
::
“Alright; it’s time to break.”
Nessa, who has been dozing on and off in the circle of Oliver’s arms, becomes alert. She twists her head, body shifting precariously on the saddle, as Oliver slows his horse to a gradual stop. He smiles down at her crookedly as she wipes her hand across her dirty forehead, sweeping aside a lock of sweat-drenched hair.
“Here?” she asks. “Is that safe?”
He props one hand on his waist and raises an eyebrow at her. “Would I really put you at risk, Princess?”
She regards him with a sheepish expression and turns her face away. “No, I guess not.”
“You guess?”
He releases the reins and slides down off the saddle. Once his feet are firmly planted on the dusty road, he reaches up to her. She leans her weight into his outstretched arms easily, trusting that he’ll catch her without a shadow of doubt. He holds her briefly against his chest, her hands braced against his shoulders as if to push him away, or steady herself.
“If I remember correctly,” she says, “you were the one who put me on this horse and then broke off from the rest of the group. I have yet to judge whether or not you mean any harm by it.”
He gives her a measured look. “That group was an unsavory band of thieves, Your Highness.”
“They were gentlemen.”
He snorts at her dismissal of the danger her gentlemen had posed, but truthfully, he is amused with her choice of words. He thinks she might be teasing him, even though her expression is sober. She’s getting better at deception.
“My lady,” Oliver says politely, his voice full of exaggerated respect. He sets her on her feet and gives her a boyish grin. “Please, judge me as you will.”
She turns her back on him and rummages through the bag strapped to the saddle. There might have been the faintest blush on her cheeks, but it could have been the heat. She moved too quickly for him to properly examine it. “Do we have any water for this horse, then?” she asks.
“Listen,” he says. They fall silent and in the distance, the sound of running water rises over the sound of bird calls and the breeze in the trees.
She spins back around gleefully. “Is that a river?”
He finds himself smiling at the expression on her face, and he props his hands on his hips, shifting his weight, admiring it. He has to say, even with the dirt from the dusty road, her excitement makes her look extra cute.
“I hope so,” he says.
She groans happily. “Oh my god, I can take a bath.” Adorable. He’s never seen anyone so thrilled at the prospect of a bath, but it makes sense, after all, taking into account she probably bathed every single day at the palace. Still. The smudge of dirt on her cheek, the sunburn on her nose, the tangle of her hair...still. She’s cute. His heart feels a bit lighter.
He laughs at her, and takes the reins to lead the horse into the forest, towards the source of the sound, and she follows eagerly. The river is closer than he could have hoped, slow moving, a short waterfall from a cliff about ten feet high feeds into it. It sparkles under the sunshine, bright and clear and beautiful. Despite the heat of the day, the air already seems a bit cooler here than on the open road.
Oliver leads the horse to the shore and it happily bends to drink from the water. He pats the horse’s neck, tethers a rope from its harness to a nearby tree and then goes to work filling the canteens with Nessa’s help. She sits on the bank with her legs in the water, humming. He thought she couldn’t get any more adorable but she always finds a way to prove him wrong.
Once the bottles are filled, he pulls his shirt off over his head and discards it on the shore, nearly sighing in relief as the damp, hot material is stripped away from him. He pauses in his action when he hears Nessa splutter in surprise.
“What are you doing?” she demands, eyes wide.
He runs a hand through his hair. “You aren’t the only one who wants to go for a swim.”
She stares at him, a bit longer than really necessary, but he doesn’t mind. He likes that she can’t look away. “Are you serious?”
Oliver winks at her and unlatches his belt. Her cheeks turn scarlet in response, but once he’s kicked out of his boots, he wades into the water until it reaches its waist. He’ll leave the pants on, for the sake of propriety, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t going to enjoy the cool relief of the river.
“C’mon, Freckles,” he taunts, turning back around to look for here. “What are you -”
His voice is stolen from him when he finds her standing at the edge of the water in nothing but a thin white shift. Her expression is bright pink and full of embarrassment and it just about kills him on the spot. His throat bobs uncomfortably and he looks away quickly, as if to afford her privacy. He hears her enter the river, and the chill of the water seems to grow icy as his skin grows hot at her approach.
Without warning, a huge splash of water crashes over his back. Oliver yelps in surprise at the attack and spins around wildly to see Nessa laughing as she makes an awkward beeline for the waterfall, desperate to escape before he can retaliate.
“Hey! I trusted you!” he calls after her, but laughter bleeds through his voice too.
“That was your first mistake, Mr. Kenton,” she replies saucily. The end of her sentence turns into a screech as he lunges for her, but the water resistance slows him down, and she is armed. Another wave of water smacks him in the face and her laughter rings high in the boughs of the surrounding trees.
He recovers quickly though, splashing her back just as she leaps into the waterfall. His fingers snag on the soaked fabric of her shift and he pulls her back towards him. She giggles, squirming in his hold, but he’s soon got her pressed against his chest with no hope of escape. He grins down at her crookedly.
“Now, I shall have my revenge,” he says, keeping his eyes trained only on her wet face and nowhere else. He knows that her shift has turned entirely transparent in the water, and he doesn’t want to look, doesn’t want to cross any boundaries that haven’t yet been crossed. Gently, he reaches up and swipes a thumb against the dirt smudge on her cheek until its gone.
“What will you do with me?” she asks softly, almost breathlessly, a wet strand of hair stuck to her other cheek. It ought to have been an innocent question, but he can hear the double meaning in her words, can understand that this isn’t an innocent situation. Her hands are flat against his bare chest, hot as the sun, and he watches in fascination as she bites her lip.
He leans in as if to kiss her, and at the last minute, dunks her head into the spray of the waterfall briefly. She sputters and coughs as he pulls her out, and he laughs at the look of betrayal on her face.
“You ass!” she exclaims.
“You started it!” he says childishly, laughing, taking far too much pleasure in her outrage. “Next time, pick on someone your own size.”
She scowls up at him and before she can snap back with an irritated retort, he grabs her chin and kisses her. It’s too rough, he knows that, and he softens towards the end as he pulls away, but she chases after him, the space of a breath between their mouths.
“Stop teasing me,” she complains, her voice just a raspy whisper, her lips almost brushing his.
Oliver smiles, using his forehead against hers to angle his mouth away. “Never. You make it far too easy.”
“Don’t you want to kiss me, too?” Her hands curl around his upper arms as he holds her close, one arm around her back, the other resting at her neck.
“I want to do a lot of things with you,” he responds roughly. He feels her thin, wet shift against his skin, wants to let his hand slip lower than her back, but he doesn’t.
“Kiss me,” she whispers. “Please.”
He cups the back of her neck, unable to deny her, especially with that desperate tone in her voice. The sound she makes when he allows their lips to meet is unholy, a sound that will send him straight to hell, regardless of anything else he may or may not do. He’ll never forget it for as long as he lives, he knows that immediately at the ragged, needy draw of it.
Oliver wishes desperately that this is all they needed to be. It’s selfish of him to pretend like she isn’t a princess, like she doesn’t have anyone else waiting for her at the end of this road. To pretend like the entire world exists just in this kiss, and that nothing outside of it will ever matter.
He has never wanted to be someone else more than he does in this moment. If only he had been able to keep his father’s duchy; would he have been a duke? Would he have been allowed this intimacy, this complete surrender of his heart? Would she have still wanted him, even then? His kiss is hard, but not unkind. He can feel the thrill of her right down to his bones; a part of him thinks that she lives there, now.
She breaks for a breath for just a moment. “I wish…”
“Shh,” he says, brushing the hair back from her face tenderly, breathing hard.
Her voice breaks, not with sadness, but with a fondness. A gentleness. Her fingers play with the wet hair at the nape of his neck. “Oliver? C-Can we stay? Here, I mean. For the night.” She pulls away just a little more, to properly meet his gaze. “I want to spend more time with you.”
He smiles crookedly, his heart stuttering in his chest at the unexpected affection in her voice. “Are you sure? Reina will be worried.”
“Reina knows that you take good care of me,” she says.
This pleases him. He thought the guard didn’t like him at all. “She said that?”
“No, but I’ve known her for years, and she wouldn’t let you within a mile of me if she didn’t think you weren’t trustworthy.” She smiles a bit and then kisses his chin, the corner of his mouth. “Kiss me again, Oliver.”
“You are really demanding, you know.”
“Fine.” She lowers her voice. “Can I kiss you, Mr. Kenton?”
He leans back into her with a low breath. “We’ll stay,” he says, and then complies to her request.
