Honestly my least favorite HeterosexualTM trope is the ‘I-no-longer-acknowledge-the-opposite-gender-because-I’m-in-a-relationship’ like… you can still have platonic & healthy relationships with the other gender…

I’m asexual & aro so this doesn’t really apply to me but I think it’s really weird that your partner gets to limit your social life? Like if I wasn’t ace and had a partner, there’s no way in hell I’d be letting them tell me who I get to talk to/hang out with. I don’t choose my friends by gender? Also, if you need to constantly restrict your partner so they don’t cheat, is that really someone you want to be dating? Idk, maybe if I wasn’t aro I would think otherwise but it really just feels obsessive and unhealthy to me

there seems to be far too many fans who can't seem to wrap their head around the fact that no relationship in the Vampire Chronicles is healthy. every relationship includes an element of abuse/power imbalance by normal standards. literally every single one.

they are all monsters who are no longer constrained by societal rules. so I don't think it's too crazy to expect them to do mosntorus things. the genre is Gothic HORROR. the show really prioritizes the HORROR element more so than other adaptaions, which i love.

i don't need louis to be a liar to enjoy lestat. if louis lied or misremebered things about the fight in episode 5, i literally do not care because it's never gonna make me hate louis. the baseline of what constitutes "evil" or "bad" is so different in iwtv because of the fact that they are NOT HUMAN. Claudia is literally a serial killer and she's still mother to me. ykwim?

the nature of vampirism is they have to kill to survive. so it would be really cool if people could accept louis, armand, and claudia as complex characters who are fundamentally not good people (because they aren't people!) without being racist about it. THEY ARE ALL KILLERS

im more interested in this exploration of the complexities of memory and seeing how the show integrates the other books into this story in a way that hasn't been done before than I am in discoursing about whether louis is a liar or not. who gives a shit???? grow up and realize that there are no good guys here and that's OKAY

its so hard to watch time pass when things like careers and assignments exist. what do you mean im supposed to take that seriously

#I have an assignment that was due a week ago and I really really dont want to do it. I have to but i dont want to #im probably making it worse because my brain has built a wall around it so now i can’t do literally anything else until thats done. but #because I don’t want to do it I’m just kinda stuck. turns out this is what they meant when they said emotional regulation is part of #exec dysfunction.. I’ll have a thought like if I get a little bit of it done now i can get it over with. I can just submit something #and then not even 5 minutes later itll be like ugh but I have to draw all the assets out. I have to write things and make spreads ugh #and its just flopping between those two things. i hate it when ppl are like well how much time do you need to work on one thing #because BOY id love to know too. once again seeing people complain about dicks cop arc with all the nuance of someone who didnt read it. like yeah, acab, but we're talking about fictional stories here. and the main point of dick being a cop was to focus on police corruption and yknow. cops being bad. like i don't really agree with all the politics of it (as it usually is with a decent amount of comics) but i can understand it as a narrative with importance to significant portions of dicks story.
