#i'm mostly just thinking about how these 3 being Siblings makes it so easy for just a really close silly bond to exist

what do you think of shu, new sui kid on the block? i like her design. the colors are very tasty looking :)
Shu's design is my favorite among the Sui siblings so far, very impressive given how much Ling was made to appeal to my personal tastes.
Tumblr media
It's the Roberta in her eyes (same artist). Can't help but be charmed.
I also love that her whole theme is agriculture. All the Sui embody an artform. Nian does metalwork, Dusk does painting, Ling does poetry, and Chongyue does martial arts, but Shu's art is agriculture. Not to embody an Asian stereotype here but I love the respect towards rice farmers.
Now as for her skillset, Shu is a Guardian Defender, a bold choice when Saria has so thoroughly dominated the Guardian class (or just ground support units in general) that the last 6 star Guardian, Blemishine, steered clear of Saria and played a funky DPS/Sleep/Defensive Recovery support role just to be able to see play.
Shu on the other hand, returns to focusing on heals and support utility, meaning she'll actually be encroaching on Saria's turf. Let's look at her skillset.
Tumblr media
So from her first talent, we see that Shu goes all in on utility, compared to Saria talent 1 bulking herself up with +ATK and +DEF stacks, or Maria's talent 1 letting her attack sleeping enemies. The "rice fields" give HP regen instead of heals (which means it heals unhealable units like Musha or Juggernauts) which greatly extends her versatility, and granting shelter to allies hiding in her sowed times is a nice bonus, but what I really value about the talent is that she sows the 4 tiles around a healed ally as well, meaning you can get great coverage on a map.
Her Talent 2 is kind of a meme. The Max HP and ASPD effects are really easy to get which is great, but the SP and ATK buff applied when four of Shu, Nian, Chongyue, Dusk, and Ling are all in the team is kind of a meme imo. That's 4/12 slots taken for a meh attack buff and a 0.25 SP/s increase, which is lower than the +0.3/s provided by Ptilopsis (although Shu's appears to work on all SP recovery types which is nice). The Sui siblings don't really have all that much synergy with each other (in fact Ling would rather fly solo to have as many deployment slots for her summons as possible) so trying to force the Sui buff by having 4 deployed seems to me like you will just be griefing yourself half the time on harder stages.
Now for her skills
Tumblr media
S1 looks to be the exact same thing as Saria's and default Nearl's. I think Saria's S1 will remain the most valuable version of this since Saria stacks both ATK and DEF on herself over time and this S1 is mostly used to make a Guardian act as a tank. Shu's regen and shelter from ricefield tiles would have to be crazy high for me to consider her S1 when I already got both Saria and Nearl on S1M3.
Shu's S2 is interesting, it's basically an upgraded version of regular Nearl's S2 (which no one uses). I need to see the numbers on the boost to Talent 1 to properly judge this skill, but for now this could potentially open up new strategic options (due to being a ground unit-based shelter buff). It's manually activated and heals two at a time which can be a pain in the ass vs just using Saria's S2, but I'm looking forward to seeing how much it buffs her sow tiles.
And now for Skill 3.
Tumblr media
Welcome to the rice fields motherfucker, you aren't allowed to leave. The bonus ATK and ASPD for allies inside her range is a buff no other Guardian can provide, but the really cool bit is teleporting enemies who have stepped on a Sow tile back into it if they end up walking too far.
I'm going to be honest, I have no idea if that is insanely broken for crowd control or if it's just a big meme, as you need to heal allies to plant sow tiles (so you can't plant ahead of your units to make an unescapable trap without using an Operator to create the Sow tiles). It is weird and creative and a very different take on Saria's S3 also being AOE crowd control and heals though, so I like it and can't wait to experiment with it.

every so often i see people complaining that the rules that govern the endless are unfair and shouldn't exist, and it's always just kinda funny, bc im here like oh you do NOT want to get rid of the rules, trust me
is it unfair that desire gets away with so much bc they're the only one willing to break the rules? yeah, probably. but the solution to that is more rules, not less, because we're dealing with 7 immortal siblings who've been around since the dawn of time and have the maturity levels of teenagers
and in that context all of the rules make so much sense
like there's probably more rules than we know about, but let's focus on the main three - no loving mortals, no interfering in each others' affairs, no spilling family blood
1) endless can't love mortals. the one rule we know was instated later than the rest, almost entirely because of dream. for two reasons. the more obvious is that dream and desire are never gonna stop fighting, and when you put a mortal in the way of that, they are almost definitely gonna get murdered or worse. but also, there's lifespans to consider. not every dead mortal can end up in the dreaming, and not all of them want to. dream dating someone mortal means at some point, he is going to outlive them, that's not in question. and dream... doesn't take loss well. he stood outside in the rain without moving for three weeks when thessaly left, and they'd only been dating a few months. and then we have lucien's word on what happened after nada...
Tumblr media
if the dreaming entirely comes to a halt for weeks or years or centuries after a girlfriend leaves him, dream grieving an actual death of a partner is actively dangerous. you can't stop dream from dating, and from those relationships going poorly, but at least it has a much higher chance of being a mutual breakup if death has been taken out of the equation
(and, you know, might as well make it a universal rule, both just in case, and so dream isn't constantly aware that this one was made because of him)
2) no interfering in the affairs of other endless. think, for a second, about the sibling rivalries in this family. and that's just the ones that exist now, when several of them have had a chance to grow up - it's said they were all a lot more immature and prideful, even death, back in the day (she grew into the older sister position).
i saw someone say once that everything in the dcu makes sense when you consider that the universe is being run by seven warring siblings, and honestly i'm inclined to agree! they're all a mess
but at least they're messes that mostly leave each other alone. which means their domains are at least protected by the fact that they all individually care about what they were created to do - there's only one person making decisions and that person generally wants the best for those that enter their domain
death in the show talks about how when she was young, she had a hard time seeing her purpose, because everyone seemed to hate her and she didn't know what to do about it. what she says in the comics is that she did stop. once it really started to get to her, she refused to collect souls. no one and nothing died. and it was only through realising how much more that was hurting the world that she started to learn how to be okay with it
when any of them stop or get distracted or kept away from their jobs, it's the mortals who suffer. and even if they all meant well, which they often don't, have you ever tried running important projects with seven people leading? at best, it slows you down, at worst it can ruin the project entirely. given how much they try to tell each other how to live their lives already, if they were allowed to get up in each others' business, you might as well be jamming up the cogs of the universe
3) can't spill family blood. so, it's easy to look at that and see orpheus, and rose walker, and all the traps that dream almost or did fall into. but as far as i'm aware, other than orpheus and unity's descendants, we don't know of any other kids of the endless, and those were all pretty recent, on a universal scale. honestly, given how dream is the only hopeless romantic of the family, i'd be willing to bet orpheus was the first. so it's extremely unlikely when this rule was put into place that children were on anyone's mind. time and night are on such a cosmic scale of power i don't think even all of the endless combined could kill one of them. which means this rule is about each other
and given everything we just said about interfering with each other, can you imagine if they were allowed to kill each other? because endless reincarnate, death amongst their family would lose all meaning. you could kill one of your siblings for annoying you and get back a potentially less annoying version of them almost immediately. but every time you did that, you'd be disrupting the functions of the universe. and with siblings like dream and desire, who don't see the other's domain as important at all, they wouldn't care. if they'd been doing it since the start, it's possible none of them would see that as a bad thing
you'd have the universe falling apart before it could even really begin. and they might not even notice

@broomsticks, leftsideisdown, Jackie, whatever you know this fabulous human as, we can all agree on "wow what a rockstar." In fact, I got so caught up in compiling some excellent fic of hers, that I nearly forgot "but wait! There's more!"
Listen, her pinned post on Tumblr alone is incredible. Look at that organization! So easy to find anything you could want to peruse on a given day! Then...the meta?? The STATS? Okay the stats meta blows my mind because I'm nerdy enough to like stat talk but allergic enough to math to have 0 comprehension of numbers. Which boils down to "please don't make me touch a number, but I'd sure love to watch you play with them!" Like...what a nerd! I say, with the utmost respect and admiration. I'm geeking out over her geeking out, I swear. But ALSO...recs!!!!! All of that on top of being a prolific and varied creator, which is rad as hell! Her brain? I love it.
But also...what a sweet and supportive human! Also, did I mention cool? Very cool. I always love seeing what new thing she's chatting about, creating, or reblogging. One of my favorite people to follow, I swear!
So now...let's get into the goods!

Remaking 1995's "Pocahontas"
Tumblr media
This is definitely one of Disney's most controversial films, and I wanted to take a stab at remaking it, stripping back historical associations so it could be a fantasy film that Disney could release in the 2020s without too much concern for offending Indigenous Americans. Please let me know your thoughts!
Part 1: Reference Panel/Designs
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
When making Pocahontas as a character, the directors drew upon Native American, Asian, and Black women to create her character, though it'd obviously be best to use Native American women if we were creating her in this time and age to show more cultural appreciation. In this specific case, I'd imagine using models like Ashley Callingbull and Quannah Chasinghorse as inspiration for Pocahontas. Since this is an original story, I'd wonder if they'd adhere to something similar to her blue concept art, her 2013 redesign, or something new altogether. Both designs are beautiful and avoid the sexualization of her original incarnation in the film.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In my mind, the love interest for Pocahontas would be a cross between John Smith and John Rolfe, having Smith's taste for adventure while still keeping Rolfe's academic intellect and skills with diplomacy. While overcoming racism is a big deal for Smith in the film, I feel like it'd make him too unlikable, as with Rolfe's sexism in the sequel. While I can see him having ignorance and preconceived notions, I feel like it's better to show him as someone new to the colonizing game and have a fresh, Thomas-like mentality (albeit slightly less innocent). This new love interest would have one of John Smith's earlier designs. I could definitely see him being inspired by Captain America: dutiful and loyal, but open to new ideas and perspectives. Honestly, his character would be a lot closer to Captain Phoebus from Disney's "Hunchback of Notre Dame."
Part 2: Story Changes
New Setting. As I mentioned before, I'd be making this a 100% original story, so this isn't set in America, the cultures that the two sides come from are fictional, and we use different names.
Tumblr media
2. Different varieties of colonists. Aside from the traditional white settlers, we'd also see other Old World colonists, hailing from Asia and Africa. I know some people would think this just a minor shoutout for diversity, but I included this based on African slaves that came with the Europeans as well as Asian migrants that came to America during the 16th and 17th centuries.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
3. We see more of Pocahontas' family. It's mentioned that historically, she had several half-siblings, so giving this fictional version of her three or four siblings would be neat, especially so you can see how tied she is to her culture. I'd probably also make Nakoma one of her sisters, since they have a sisterly bond. I'd also consider making the fictional version of Kocoum her brother instead of her betrothed, since I feel like it makes the audience care more about him and it'd explain why he's so protective of her. Expanding on Pocahontas' mother would also be awesome.
Tumblr media
4. Thomas is John's brother. At first I thought this simply because in this version they'd both have red hair, but I thought about how Thomas was trying to make a good life for his family as well as how John Smith looked out for him like a little brother. Since I'm removing John's colonizing experience here and Thomas would be more likely to listen to Radcliffe if he and John weren't related, I think it makes sense that John influences his thoughts and decisions the most about the new world.
Tumblr media
5. There's more of a cultural exchange. In part 1, Pocahontas mostly tells Smith about her world, while in part 2, Rolfe mainly tells her about his world. I'd like to combine the two so they can get to know and understand each other very well.
Tumblr media
6. The fantasy aspect--it's easy to forget I'm not just changing controversial elements. Perhaps it's due to my thoughts on "Avatar: The Last Airbender," but I do like the idea of the colonists and Natives being able to use magic; not only is it entertaining for the audience, but it can also be symbolic for several situations, ie the colonists bringing diseases to the Natives, and the Natives' spiritual connection to nature while the colonists' being much more "modern" and less elemental.
Tumblr media
7. This happens over a period of years. I feel like this is great to let Pocahontas and John's relationship grow organically (since some think her and John Smith's relationship was rushed and encouraged by passion), as well as showing us how the relationship between the Natives and the colonists fluctuate.
Hope you like my ideas! Lemme know what you think or if you have any questions. Would this have made you enjoy the film more?

yaaaaaaay planty stuff in ch 3!!! here are my thoughts and things and whatever translation weirdness I find as I re-read Trigun Maximum vol 5! :D
(NOTE: I'm reading the Dark Horse [physical] and the Overhaul [online] translations side-by-side)
Tumblr media
(Dark Horse on top, Overhaul on bottom)
Midvalley talking about the explosives - just a lil translation discrepancy here
Tumblr media
I rly like how both translations keep the original inky, brushed-on-looking ?!s
Tumblr media
(Dark Horse on left, Overhaul on right)
"hey bro I just wanna talk" *subjects u 2 medical experimentation without ur consent*
Knives, you are. SUCH an ass. LOVE that 4 u.
(also, I recall someone talking about how Knives treats Vash as an extension of himself and. yeah. that + perhaps a bit of bossy older sibling. but it's mostly Knives being an ass.)
Tumblr media
DOCTA 🤩
I think it's significant what the Overhaul includes about how the power of Vash's gate is greater than anything Doctor's ever seen. makes you wonder just how much more powerful the twins' gates are compared to that of non-independent plants...
also, Knives just. putting words in Doctor's mouth like that. y'know humans aren't always the most logical, right, Knives? it's almost like...idk. to me, it feels like Knives is projecting his fear and how he chooses to deal with it onto humanity 🫤
fuckin' Knives, man. just...
Tumblr media
...look at him. look at that face. look at that easy smile. UUUUUUGH I wanna MAUL him (affectionate). Knives, you utter shit.
ahem.
anyway.
an interesting little translation discrepancy on the next page. in response to Vash asking what this (arm going all angel-y) is, Knives says "It's power" in Dark Horse's translation, while in the Overhaul's, he says "It's our power."
and on the page after that, Knives says something that piqued my interest (quoting the Overhaul here, but both translations say basically the same thing): "It can be hard to handle at first." so now I'm wondering about how Knives discovered his abilities, and what happened the first time he used his angel arm... 🤩
Tumblr media
another instance of Dark Horse being weirdly vague, while the Overhaul is much more straightforward
Tumblr media
as I was reading this part, I just...the way Knives' questions are literally framed here, I imagine him sounding more and more serious, increasingly enraged...
Tumblr media
Dark Horse vague, Overhaul not
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I FUCKIN FORGOT ABOUT VASH'S LIL SWITCHAROO HERE?!?!?!
also.....this is my first time reading this chapter with the understanding that all those ppl who went missing in the destruction of July weren't atomized - they were fucking sucked into Vash's gate 🫠

(For the Pokéstar Studios AU)
Hey this is the same anon, I'm super happy that you liked the idea! Sincerely, I am extremely stoked, thank you so much!
This concept has been running through my mind nonstop ever since that ask and I have a few more ideas. Not to pressure you to add this in the fic or force these ideas on you, yet again I'm just having fun sharing these.
Anyways, Blake and Black brother-in-law moments REAL?! Whitley and White sister-in-law moments TRUE!? Ugh i'm eating up these hypothetical scenarios.
White most likely assigns Black to be Blake's bodyguard whenever he decides to go out, since he has celebrity status and all. The same thing goes for Whitley, though I see Blake accompanying her a lot too. So Black has to thirdwheel, not knowing it's Blake enacting vengeance for all those time he was the thirdwheel when it was just White, Black, and him at the BW Agency.
Also more of how I think Blake would be as an actor, though in this scenario he never received super spy training, he probably got super intense media training from White. They're both coming up with insane, genius, absolutely unhinged strategies to manipulate the media, Light Yagami monologuing typa bamboozlery. And Whitley and Black are just having a pleasant chat, side eyeing them every thirty seconds or so.
I imagine Blake's acting style to be refined, perfect, infallible that it's almost too much. Since he doesn't understand emotions, he studies, studies, studies, and studies. Writing down what his character would do, analyzing every line of dialogue, down to the body language and speech patterns etcetera. That's how he's able to nail so many different characters. AKA Christian Bale ahh acting style.
Now for Whitley, she's the opposite, she's new and unrefined, full of flaws. But full of emotion, her performances reaches out and captures. Delivering the feel needed for the scene and character.
And it really fascinates Blake, how she's so in tune with her emotions, making him kinda obsessed with her reactions...
That's it for now, I haven't even touched the surface for Blake and White's sibling dynamic but I sort of don't want this to be novel-length. Yet again, I am so happy that you accepted that ask! I really look forward to what you're cooking up, take as much time as you need!
Lil Bonus:
Blake: *trying to spook/fluster Whitley* Great job on set, your acting needs a little more work but you've got potential.
Whitley: Oh! Um, thanks...
Blake: You should learn how to be more confident, we don't want people to think you're easy to take advantage of...those rumors in Pokéwood are not to be taken lightly. *attempts to rizz* don't worry I'll-
Whitley: OH NO, w-were you a victim!?
Blake: Wh-what of course not-
White: *Bonks him on the head* Of course not! I made SURE that never happened to him, and I will DEFINITELY do the same for you!
ANON YOU ARE DRIVING ME ABSOLUTELY CRAZY W HAPPINESS W ALL OF THESE GREAT FANTASTIC Amazing Awonderf IDEAS, OFC I NEED TO ADD ALL OF THEM NOW <3 NEED TO GO TO SCHOOL SOON SO I'LL ADD MORE LATER BUT FOR NOW I WAS THINKING
Blake is studying Whitley right?!!! Almost out of a curiosity as to how she feels and experiences all these emotions?? So naturally!! Especially her beautiful eyes that get teary whenever shes thinking about something sad! He could study her all day!!
To add to that: Blake never had pets or cared for animals bcs you know... sociopath and all, but he starts seeing Whitley feeding a stray cat!! ANd EVENTUALLY (WHEN THERES SOME ANGST POINT) HE STARTS FEEDING THE LITTLE KITTEN HIMSELF just from seeing Whitley when he's walking by all alone!!
And you're so right he'd craft his image with the convoluted intelligence of Light Fucking Yagami lmaoo that's so good!!
AND UK WHITE IS THE MOST AMBITIOUS GIRL LIKE SHE'S MAKING SURE BLAKE IS TOPPING ALL THE RATINGS AWARDS WHATEVE, BUT her YOUNGER BRO ALSO ANNOYS HER SOMETIMES W HIS HEINOUS SOCIOPATHY AND SHE HAS TO DO DAMAGE CONTROL LMAOO (mostly it's him being with all sorts of ladies before being w Whitley and unintentionally breaking their hearts cus they didn't interest him for too long)
AND BLACK IS SUCH A FIERCE BODYGUARD BUT ALSO WHOLESOME!! LIKE HE WILL KILL FOR HIS BROTHER IN LAW!! BUT OFC OFC HE'LL GIVE THE FANS FREE FOOD AND GIFT BASKETS ON HIS BEHALF TOO AND HELP THE FANS GET BLAKE'S AUTOGRAPH especially he'll help anybody whose disabled bcs it's the right thing to do!! God he's so good
so yeah Whitley!! Whitley is pure!! Unfiltered!! And blake doesn't know what that's like aside from his family everybody else in Hollywood tend to be shallow and judgemental and fake!! But Whitley s not afraid to cry, to smile, to laugh, she's not afraid of what ppl think and guess what!! Blake needs that bcs he's been hiding his sociopathy all along! Bcs his career would be over if anybody revealed his diagnoses!!
Initially it started out as fun that he studied Whitley and tried to get emotions out of her!! Initially he just joked she was becoming an addiction! Just something to have!! But then things started to get real and he began to experience!!
Something big!! Something else!! Nobody had ever kept him that interested in his life!! Jumping from person to person!! Director to Director!! Everybody was fed up with him but then came in Whitley!! And this man just cannot let her go!!
And ya know Black is ready to defend his whole family!! He's outside of his work hours still doing his job cus that's what he should do!! Is Prez okay?? Where should we go next?? Lemme be with you Prez i cant risk anything happening to u not on my watch imma be the best bodyguard ever!! And Blake's just standing there like- "Bet"
ANYWAYS I SAID I DIDN'T HAVE MUCH TIME BUT I GUESS I HAD TO RESPOND HAHAHA, thank you so much this whole au and concept is honestly making my day and i can't wait to finish it!!

for the ask thing, whichever version of sun wukong you enjoy most
Hmmm to be completly honest im not sure which is the version i enjoy the most, like most wukongs to me are all different brands of a pretty cool guy so it's a bit hard to choose 🤔, so i think i'm just gonna answer for the Lego Wukong and the Jttw Wukong because those are the two i post about and think about the most:
Jttw Sun Wukong:
-How i feel about this character: He's a very complex character, and i like him a lot. Like, i'm bad at putting it exactly into words but even during moments of the story where he's doing wrong, he's still incredibly easy to sympathize with because you can kinda just see where he's coming from you know? He's a guy with a lot of layers that can't really be described as just a "Silly funny monkey" or "impulsive violent fiend" or anything of the sort, because the thing about trying to fit Swk into any kind of labels is that it's pretty much a fruitless task and i love that about him lol. I'm bad with words but yeah all that just makes him feel so real to me, and it's neat to see how different adaptations focus on certain aspects of his personality and each end up feeling a bit different from eachother as a result!
-All the people i ship romantically with this character: I love the Swk/Bull King/Princess Iron Fan dynamic and it's usually the ship i think about the most when it comes to him. And even though i usually see the pilgrims mostly in a platonic light, i also like Zhu Bajie/Swk cause they do have a hell of a fun dynamic. Guess Erlang can also fit in here.
-My non-romantic OTP for this character: Ao Lie. Because they kept calling him Little Dragon when he first appeared on the book i ended up with the image of him in my mind as a very young adult when compared to the other pilgrims. I can see him and Wukong having a very baby sibling and oldest sibling dynamic, and Wukong absolutly plays favorites when it comes to the pilgrims. The favorite is the horse
-My unpopular opnion about this character: Hmmm not really sure if i have one?
-One thing i wish would happen/had happened with this character in canon: Kinda wish there were more moments where Tang Sanzang was like, you know more decent to him? Just wish they had more nice moments with eachother, because like if Sanzang was a person that actually bonded with him and had his own nice moments as well maybe it would make me more invested on the moments Wukong has to protect him. You know, making it feel as the story goes on that he's starting to protect him less because it's his duty and more because that's a person he genuily has come to care about.
Okay so now the lego man
Lego Wukong:
-How i feel about this character: I feel like both canon and fanon lately has been way too harsh to him and i just want him to have nice things. I deal with that by mostly ignoring the majority of the fandom and just enjoying it with my friends 👍. He's a funny lego man who's going through way more horrors than he should be going through at every single second of his existence. Im holding him gently in my hands and giving him a break
-All the people i ship romantically with this character: I dont think he's a very romance focused guy but i like Swk/Tang/Chef Zhu, they're cute together and Xiaotian can get as many dads as he wants. I also see him and Princess Iron Fan + DBK as exes
-My non-romantic OTP for this character: Xiaojiao. I like thinking that post season 3, after he makes an genuine effort to connect more with Xiaotian's friends, the two of them can actually be really great friends. Just getting to know and spend some time with his great niece :] i can see her introducing him to all sorts of different sleepover games. I also think that even though she and Ao Lie have their differences she still reminds him a lot of him
-My unpopular opnion about this character: Everyone including canon is being too harsh on him, like just have this man have nice things for once. Everyone complains about how he "never tells anyone anything" but how do you expect him to tell anything when hes constantly whisked away by the plot?? Guy only had a single episode on S4 before being whisked away, guy only had 10 fucking minutes of screentime do you really think 10 minutes is enough to tell everyone about all his enemies and traumas??? My second unpopular opnion is Sh#dowp#ach is the bane of my existence.
-One thing i wish would happen/had happened with this character in canon: Let him actually be friends with the rest of the gang, let him have some screentime hanging out with them!! I think the show would have really benefited from going back to the monster of the week format from season 1 to that, like imagine just having some casual fun episodes but this time Wukong is shown on the noodle shop too!! Guy doesn't even need to be a main focus of the episode even just simple stuff like getting shown some baby monkey videos by Xiaojiao, or talking with Tang about how different parts of the journey actually were like, just you know stuff that makes him feel like part of the gang :].
(Another thing that i fucking wish is my self-fufilling au about Ao Lie actually being still alive all this time but had gotten himself stuck in the scroll, and now that he's out and both of them know the other is not fucking dead now, they can just reunite and be friends again. Does my au have a lot of plot holes? Yes it does, but just let the monkey have this one single win. He deserves to have one of his friends still alive fgdkbdnsbd)

today is sunday and while i don't have anything sexual to say about pudding ( not that we should care since she's literally a teenager, which is always good to remind ) i want to write a little rundown of things involving pudding and the concept of love.
as a child love has always been associated as a reward for being useful, especially because the only source was big mom. as i already mentioned pudding's whole existence is a mean to an end and her usefulness is tied to how fast she will awaken her third eye. we know she was spoiled wich riches but that both her mom and some of her siblings beside her bullies were disgusted by her appearance. even when it comes to the siblings she has a close bond with, it's mostly pudding adapting to their habits so that they will like her better
as a teenager, her concept of love is based on the idealisation of it that lola had before leaving totto land. pudding mentions she wishes to sail and find her true love the way her older sister did, unaware of the fact that it's not that easy... if lola's story is of any testament that is
as we know sanji was the first person who somewhat expressed romantic interest toward her. while his behaviour was bare minimum, to someone like pudding who has never been exposed to anything it feels like gold - with this i'm not saying that it wasn't pivotal to the beginning of her "redemption arc", but the sanji that pudding has seen in the days previous to their wedding is very different from how he presents usually ( due to unfortunate circumstances and whatnot ) in fact we see her have a little heartbreak moment at his reunion with nami upon realising he's just like that with everyone. there's nothing wrong with that and i think the way she managed her jealousy was quite mature despite... everything... heartache is part of growing up and again that was also essential for pudding to evolve her idea of love
pudding feels in extremes, mostly due to the traumas of her childhood but also because she's not balanced with all things yet. explaining herself and putting her feelings into words always feels like too much work - this is where acts of service come. the more she gets in tune with her higher self the less thoughts will feel jumbled, but even then she will never talk anyone's ear off preferring to help / assist them whatever they need instead. words of affirmation are the preferred love language toward her - she needs lot of reassurance and clear communication, hazy situation will bore her quickly and make her feel unwanted, which in turn will end up with her parting ways
pudding's true self will evolve to the point that she will be one with everything. it transcends the body and it's hard to explain to the people she cares for, but the way she feels is so so much different. while she can love people ( especially the ones she shares deep bonds with due to circumstances ) she's not so much physically / sexually attracted to them. she's not opposed to sharing beds and baths and what could come with being in a relationship, but that's it really
due to this, she finds intimacy in much higher things - silence for instance. she's one of those people who loves being in the same room with the person she cares for, doing her own thing or watching them do their things, enjoying those little moments because she's aware of how fleeting they are. the kitchen will forever be the place you'll find pudding to be most vulnerable, the kitchen table being the most sacred space for any type of conversation
while i understand that pudding needs a gag otherwise she'd be too perfect, i personally think she would never have nosebleeds. however, she is absolutely cursed with THREE (3) huge romantic brown eyes who are a literal secret weapon to get everything she wants

something that is so so fun to me is that i hc both alc and izzy as greyromantic and i think it's actually pretty easy to read in canon. siblings that have a complex relationship with romantic attraction together win together ig
yeah for sure those can both be supported by canon. it's in the way alec seems pretty uncaring about relationships and dating prior to meeting magnus, and is totally perplexed why jace would be turning their lives upside down because of his attraction to clary. (though alec turns his own life upside down later on because of magnus hahaha). up to that point alec thought he had feelings for jace, which makes more sense if he had never had actual romantic feelings for someone before magnus - he had nothing to compare his feelings for jace to, so he was like 'strong platonic feelings must equal romantic feelings'. which feeds back into his annoyance about clary and confusion over jace's behavior, he's like 'sure i would do irrational things for jace because we've cared about eachother for years but how on earth does he have those feelings about this random girl.' then he meets magnus and he's like 'ah i understand. now it's my turn to go insane.' and he suddenly changes course completely from just staying closeted and achieving his career goals versus pursuing what he wants from a relationship. before it wasn't worth the risk. before, when it was just sex (maybe) that he was interested in, he could have probably managed that (secretly) while married to lydia and being hoti. not sure if it's in alec's character to do that, but it would have been possible. dating in secret is a lot harder.
alec before magnus versus alec suddenly faced with the violent unquenchable desire to give magnus a hug:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
and izzy doesn't seem to hold her relationships particularly close in a romantic sense. like her relationship with meliorn is mostly physical, sure they like eachother well enough but they're not dating. i think raphael might be the first one (in the show) she had some romantic feelings for? esp. since she still wanted to be with him after sex was off the table - if she had no romantic feelings she'd probably have been like 'let's be friends.' (though their relationship was also complicated by addiction). (one could probably read some romantic attraction for clary as well? though the show doesn't go there). i'm trying to decide if i think she was attracted to simon initially - maybe, since she seemed pretty fascinated by him? i'm not sure. i think you could probably read izzy as demiromantic too - it seems to be physical for her first, and romantic interest comes later. idk. i don't have quite as good a read on her as alec as i haven't spent 3 years and 500 thousand words of fanfiction thinking about it 😂 alas

11-13, 18 and 20 for Nisha? :3c
Nisha time!! :D (Also, you sent me two asks, which probably was accidental but I'm 1000% answering both of them <3)
11. Bad or petty habits
Nisha's biggest bad habit is, I think, being a bit overly perfectionistic, particularly when under more stress than usual/not doing great mentally in other aspects. That and not sharing how xe's feeling are both things that xe slips back into doing when xe's not...Thriving, shall we say. Xe is pretty good at recognizing that nowadays, though, and will ask for help of some kind/in some way 99 times out of 100.
(On a slightly more lighthearted note, Nisha also tends to fall asleep reading with a light of some kind still on, which would be mostly okay except that xe has drained several batteries that way and once nearly set a nightstand on fire xD )
12. Grudges and vendettas
Legitimately, I think all the people/beings/creatures that Nisha had severe grudges/vendettas against are dead (most significantly, Mordremoth, Balthazar, and--to some extent--Kralkatorrik). I can't think of anyone still alive who falls into this category enough to be noted here (though there are certainly folks that xe dislikes who are still around!).
13. What gets them flustered
Surprise affection! (From specific people who've talked about this beforehand! Consent is still important, folks.) If one of xyr partners comes up and kisses xem on the cheek, for example, that's a good one, and Kerra and Canach definitely use that "trick" on a regular basis. (Which actually requires some creativity on both of their parts since Nisha is TALL xD)
Aside from that, genuinely having someone look up to xem/respect xem and tell xem so will sometimes do it, though this often leans towards more just generally emotional than flustered, and xe probably won't show it in front of said person if at all possible.
18. Things they’ll never admit
Nisha, these days, doesn't really have a thing that's a hard "I'll never tell anyone about this", but there's definitely some things that xe keeps generally under wraps. The fact that xe and Rel are not born of the Pale Tree is something of an open secret, but the fact that they both knew about the Mordremoth-sylvari connection their entire lives (and knew years before 1327-1328) is a secret that's kept much quieter. There are definitely people who know (such as their respective partners and very close friends--meaning, at this point, probably all of Dragon's Watch), but it's not even close to common knowledge. It doesn't need to be shared, so it isn't. (Side note, this is also making me wonder, as far as actual canon goes, how widely known it is among other sylvari nowadays that Caithe knew for years and kept that secret--or if it's known at all beyond the Commander and Dragon's Watch and the Pale Tree.)
20. What-ifs/Alternate Timelines
Ooh, alternate timelines with Nisha? Let's see here...well, I immediately thought of a timeline where xe just doesn't exist, but honestly things are just worse there and it's making me sad, so we're going to leave that one alone asldjkfasdf. I don't think Nisha would ever have ended up Commander unless you fully swapped xyr backstory and Kerra's or something like that--which is a fun thought experiment, actually, because how much do you swap there? Does Nisha just end up being a child of the Pale Tree and Kerra is born in Maguuma? Do they swap siblings, too? (E.g., Kerra is Rel's twin and Nisha has Caithe and Trahearne as older siblings?) Nisha with Kerra's empathy abilities (even just that on its own without moving anything else around) would increase xyr early need to keep everything emotional under control times 10, easy.
In terms of something that isn't a swap, there's definitely a world where instead of just letting Rel leave the Priory and travel, xe tried to stop him (like physically stop him, not just talk him out of it) because xyr fear pushed xem past a point of making reasonable decisions, and it really hurt their relationship as siblings. They'd make up going into and throughout HoT, but it'd always be just a little bit awkward. (The stopping wouldn't be physically violent in the sense of hitting him, but restraining is and would still have been bad. Xe's impulsive when xe's afraid sometimes, especially at that point when xyr emotional regulation was an empty metal can with two crumbs in it, and the only reason xe didn't try anything along those lines in main canon was that xe was too shell-shocked and more devastated than afraid in the moment.)
Brain is tired, so I'm stopping there, but there are definitely more potential AUs/timelines out there for xem :D

oh my! Your blogs are lively these day, we love to see them! Happy valentines day KO, hopefully you have a good week 🥰
You reply to latest anon "Let me know what it would take to make WinterMichael work (joking)." HAHAHAHAHAHA IM SO SORRY WHATTTTTT im not gonna lie, i just bust out laughing when i read that. They never even come across my mind, now, but i'm very 🤨🫣 what have you done to me KO!! Damon Rika would end us!!
i love the damon-will-emory discussions that had been going on here too, so fun to see how people interpret characters and stories so similar yet so different than others! I can't lie, not until this week did i only notice about will being deceitful and cunning, maybe because it was never highlighted as much in other DN discussion & platforms? I only ever heard him being sunshine and suffering, but now that i took a step back and look at his personality... hmmm 🤔🫢 maybe these anon readers are onto something! Thank you all for this enlightening, maybe i should read this series more critically, how could i miss this!!
KO, question for you, list any 3 aspects of DN that you like a lot, doesn't matter if it's about the style, plot, characters, writing, feeling, etc. I don't think you've talked about this before right? Or maybe you did, but i never saw it, because i'm new ✌️😗
Hello new friend!
The frequency of asks definitely goes through phases. It’ll be silent for weeks and then a flood, but I don’t mind.
Damon Rika would end us!!
I’m still convinced that this is the reason PD made them siblings. They’re too easy to ship otherwise. But I also feel that they want to ship them, too, so they sort of shot themselves in the foot with that.
i love the damon-will-emory discussions that had been going on here too, so fun to see how people interpret characters and stories so similar yet so different than others!
It’s a lot of fun to see how other people interpret the series! It can be frustrating too, at times, but it’s mostly so much fun because it’s not really that serious. And a lot of readers have really good thoughts and insights that I would never have thought of. As long as it stays fun and respectful, I’ve loved getting asks of people just going off with their thoughts and interpretations.
Not until this week did I only notice about will being deceitful and cunning,
Seeing Will this way gives him so many layers, I highly recommend! I don’t want to toot my own horn, but if you haven’t read my 7k word Will analysis, you might find that interesting.
KO, question for you, list any 3 aspects of DN that you like a lot
Ooooo, okay! DN actually ticked a lot of boxes for me. I’ve touched on it before but no harm in going over it again.
I think the main thing I enjoy in any piece of entertainment is layers.
I really enjoyed the dual timeline aspect.
This is one of my favorite tools of storytelling. I love when the story starts in the middle and then takes us back and forth to tell the story. We get to watch everything unfold in layers instead of a straight shot. Don’t tell it to me straight, make me piece it together.
Friendship groups
I love strong friendship groups/dynamics. There’s been a rise in the core “3-4 Boys Rule the school” trope, and those don’t always hit with me, so it’s not that.
How relationships between people in the group grow and develop at different rates, and how different types of people show love in different ways, and how people band together to cover another’s area of weakness.
There’s a few quotes from Devil’s Night that I feel really hit on why this is interesting to me, but I ran across one the other day from Fire Night. Talking about Damon (who else, really?) Kai says,
“God, I hated him. I mean, I definitely jump off a bridge for him, but…”
It just drives me crazy wondering why? And I love that.
I’m debating on what a third thing was. I think the other two things hooked me enough to keep me reading, but…
The writing wasn’t terrible all the time. I loved Thunder Bay as a concept, and I think I was really hoping that the books would lean more into a crime/heist plot than they did. I remember in Conclave when Rika was like “but we’re not criminals” I was really disappointed.
They are criminals, and I wanted them to own it and do something with it. In my head, that’s were I would have taken the story. I don’t really care how they ended up in jail. They played with the law, they faced the consequences. The lesson they should have learned was be better criminals. Instead, we focused on how traumatizing that was for them, which… okay I guess.
I mean, overall the story caught me. If it wasn’t for Willemmy high school, I probably wouldn’t still be around. But I loved them so much that I sort of built up what I did enjoy and wish had taken place over the pieces that I didn’t really care for. A lot of what I talk about is just headcanon, but that’s okay. That’s what I use fandom for.
Thanks for the question, that was fun. Feel free to let me know what you enjoyed/why you're still here! It seems everyone loves to hate on the things that didn't work for them, which can be fun too. But there has to be a reason this series is occupying a space in our heads, right?
Looking forward to it
Ko

🦅🧸😺
Thanks for the ask! I'm going to answer these questions for different f/os depending on who comes to my mind first :)
🦅: How good are their friends at being wingmen? Do they even help at all or just sit back watching the pining with a bag of popcorn?
Going to answer this for Davy! I could probably come up with scenarios for the others as well but I also don't want to let you wait too long with answering the questions😅 The first person that starts to notice that something is going on between Davy and Selena is Davy's trusted first mate Maccus. Although he and Selena initially don't like each other very much, he notices that her presence seems to be good for Davy. He's probably the closest to what could be considered a friend of Davy, and he isn't opposed to the thought of having a more hopeful outlook on the future, given that his captain has been wallowing in grief for decades and dragging the crew along with him. He'd probably try to set Selena and Davy up so they "coincidentally" run into each other more often than they would otherwise, ideally in situations where no one else is around and they can talk in peace. Over time, he would luckily also start to warm up to Selena herself and they would become friends. He's the first to find out about it once they actually are a couple. Davy would want to keep things private for a while, until he's convinced that Selena truly loves him and he's not just dreaming. Some of the other crew members might already have had suspicions by that time. Their surprise varies, but they end up being relatively content with it, as Davy being more happy means that he'd also be less cruel towards them, and would make their existence as cursed crew members more bearable.
🧸: Would they want to have kids together? If so what are their kid(s) like? How are they as parents?
Ohh I'm so happy I got this question, I love rambling about my fankids! I'm actually going to answer this for all of my main f/os <3
Starting with Selina and Heinz, they definitely want to have kids! It's an important part to their life and relationship. Their firstborn is a daughter named Elena. She's similar to both of her parents, but takes a little more after her father, she has his passion for science and inventing, but can also be a bit chaotic or impulsive. I'm not fully decided on how many kids they're going to have, I'm kind of going back between two, three and four😅 I want them to have many children but I also want the kids to have personalities and not be completely bland. At the moment I'm settled with three; their second child is a son named Oscar (I'm not 100% sure about the name yet though). Most of the time he's a more calm and rather easy-going child (at least when he's little; I mostly imagine their family at a time when the kids are still rather young, but it would be fun to explore how they're going to be like when growing into teenagers and young adults). He loves animals and playing with his sister, even though like all siblings they bicker and fight at times. Their youngest is daughter whom they name Catherine (not fully decided on that name either, I just feel like it should be something with C). She's taking a lot after her mother and is a very shy and dreamy kid. She has a strong interest in music; she always loves listening to her mother playing the piano (it's one of Selina's hobbies, she's not a professional though, just self-taught), and once she's old enough, she tries playing by herself and shows to be surprisingly good at it even at a young age already. Somehow I like to think that maybe she was a surprise baby😅 Selina and Heinz didn't intentionally plan to have another child when they found out that Selina was pregnant again, however they didn't mind in the slightest and were in fact very happy to welcome another kid into their family. They love all their kids very much and would do about everything for them. Heinz has already shown to be a very sweet and loving father with his daughter Vanessa (from his previous marriage), and he's just the same with his other kids. Vanessa herself is probably a young adult by the time Selina and Heinz are a couple, so she isn't around all the time, but she also loves her younger half-siblings and enjoys visiting them, and they in turn look up to her. All in all their loving and worry-free family life is a big mental safe space for me and even though they're not real, I love my made-up kids very much💕
For Selena and Hector, it might take a bit of convincing from her side. Hector isn't opposed to the thought of having kids, but being a pirate, his life is often dangerous and uncertain, and he wouldn't want to leave her behind alone with little children to take care of in case something happened to him. Also he would be worried about making life harder for them if they're being associated with a pirate as their father. They probably end up with one or two children of their own, depending on the timeline they may also search for Carina to reunite her with her father and give her a proper family, raising her along with her younger half-siblings. I haven't developed their relationship as much yet so I'm not quite sure about the names and personalities of their children. I feel like they're probably going to have a girl and a boy. Hector would teach his children many things he knows, from navigating and sailing a ship to handling a sword or flintlock. He'd probably be rather protective of them, but would also want them to be able to defend themselves. He tends to show it more in private, since he wants to avoid making them a target for his enemies, but he loves his family very much.
Lastly, for Selena and Davy, their first child is definitely a surprise. Due to the curse, neither her nor Davy himself were sure if he was still able to father any children until the time they actually found out she was pregnant. It was probably for the better, since Davy would be very worried. Would the curse affect his child - or his pregnant wife - negatively? (On a side note, I'm not sure if Selena is under the curse as well at that time, she originally joined the Dutchman's crew, but Davy would most likely relieve her from her debt later on out of love. I should probably make an extra post sometime talking about how the curse could effect their relationship and family life.) Would the child even be able to love him or just see him as a monster? His worries only start to fade once their little daughter (for whom I don't have a name yet at this point) is born and doesn't show any signs of discomfort around him, just love and affection. He starts becoming more at ease with holding and taking care of her. He's probably going to have his beard tentacles pulled a lot during the times she's a baby and toddler, but he could never be mad at her. It would make his heart melt when he realises that she doesn't merely tolerate him, but actually looks up to him as her father and loves him just as he is. He'd probably tear up when she drapes her braids over her mouth to imitate his beard tentacles, and proudly declares that she looks just like her father now (I've had this scene in my head for a while now and it's just the cutest I need to draw it at some point🥺). At this point, Selena might also be able to eventually convince him to give their daughter a little sibling as well.
🐱: Do they have pet names for each other, if so what are they? How does their partner feel about their pet name?
Going to give a quick answer for all of my mains for this one here! I want to mention though that I have actually no idea how I'd feel about pet names in real life, or if I'd use any for my partner if I had one. It might also be a language thing, I think in English I'm much quicker to use pet names than in German (maybe also because they're a good name replacement in x reader stories). Idk if I somehow find them too corny in German or maybe just don't really know which words I'd use for them since I usually write and even think about my f/os in English.
Heinz and Selina would probably use words like "darling", "(my) dear" or "love" for each other. Heinz would probably use a greater variety of words, also throwing in things like "sweetheart", "honey" or others, while Selina tends to stick to her favourite endearments most of the time. Hector would call Selena things like for example "m' lady" or "m' dear". Before they became a couple he'd also refer to her as "lass" or "lassie", when he was flirting with her he'd sometimes put a "my" beforehand. Selena would call him things like "my dear", "my love" or also "my captain" (the latter one probably particularly if she were either to tease him a little, or she wanted to be a bit seductive in a more intimate situation). Davy's most used endearment would probably be "my love", but he'd also use others, like "my dear", "my darling" or "my beloved". Selena would use mostly the same ones for him. One thing that he loves in particular though, is when she calls him "my Davy". The thought that she loves him so much to call him hers, and hers only, makes his heart melt. In turn, he'd also refer to her as "my Selena".

YESSSSS all 3 meals!!! I only managed 2 today but one was half a pizza so i got the calories in!!!
How were the kids? They treat u ok?
Be sure to take it really easy when you're home this week ok love? You deserve it.
Gosh i wish i were there to take care of you and make your breakfasts and lunches and dinners and make sure everything was perfect for you when you got home so you could just sit down and eat and sleep without thinking about a thing 🥺
-🔥
Hey, I only got 2 yesterday, but that's twice as good as just one!
The kids were okay, not the easiest as it's a lot of dealing with siblings dynamics, but it was just 2 hours and the parents always leave a home cooked meal for us all to eat so overall a good thing. And I've known this family for like 5 years and was their nanny when the youngest was born, so I just adore hanging out with their two year old and looking at her like "I watched you being BORN and now you're your own little human!! Incredible!!!"
I'll do my best to chill out when I'm not working, definitely going to say no to any more babysitting if it's offered cause after the next two weeks I will definitely need a break.
I wish you could help me with meals toooo, I feel like if I had a partner I would be GREAT at packing lunches, (mostly cause I wanna use all those cute bento boxes, and reusable cupcake wrappers, and the adorable food toothpicks, and write notes n stuff,) but just for myself I do not have that energy. Dinner is always the worst for me I think because I'm also the most tired, but damn I spend a lot on "oh fuck oh shit it's after 7pm I need to eat dinner" uber eats orders.

I keep seeing the argument that Five only ever did what he did for his family. which is true from his perspective, but ignores the fact that he actually went against his family's wishes a lot if not most of the time. in season 1 he worked mostly alone, only offered bits and pieces to his siblings who sometimes got frustrated with him, sometimes were the source of frustration for him. but you know, it was difficult circumstances, they had a strange dynamic after so many years apart, yadayada. season 2 is in some ways worse: his siblings actively tell him they don't want to help and/or leave the 60's. yes, he has very good reason to make them and forbid them from bringing their loved ones along but I think we can at least agree the way he went about that was pretty shoddy (but in character for him). also, he once again did stuff on his own without telling anyone (killing the board members). season 3 sees the roles reversed: Five is the one who doesn’t give a fuck anymore, which is understandable. now he's the one getting dragged along unwillingly (in some cases). let's not forget Allison didn't make the decision that Harlan had to die by herself, the whole reason Five gave his villain speech to Viktor was a result of the majority vote (it was also lowkey ironic that he of all people gave that speech). she didn't have to kill him herself but she also didn't just do it out of nowhere. I realise Allison's actions seem more extreme because they are "out of character" after she had to be the bigger person for 2 seasons, while Five was never portrayed as anyone but the killer assassin who did his own thing regardless of what his family wanted, even when they were children. and obviously his power is very different from Allison's, so when he uses it against his siblings it doesn't have the same negative connotations to them and is. (pointing this out because luther, viktor, ben and Allison abusing their powers has very different consequences to Five, Diego and Klaus. just take Luther and how much the fandom hated him in season 1 -- and ironically, loves him now even though he still misuses his powers for his own gain.) there's a reason the sibs called Five arrogant and an asshole in season 1, and was appalled by what Allison did in season 3. only instead of talking about it and helping each other, they let Allison go off the rails until it was too late to stop her. calling her a villain because she said fuck this shit I'm done playing nice, and everyone letting her get away with it is a bit of a cop-out I think, because this family has continuously failed at holding each other accountable and working through things together, as a family should. you don't just become a villain over night. Diego realised this after she blew up at Viktor but let's just say his method of blowing off steam only addressed part of the issue, and did little more than to slap a bandaid on it. to quote the eternal words of uncle Ben: with great power comes great responsibility, and we've seen the fallout of Peter shirking that responsibility even just for five seconds and out of spite. if Allison wasn’t who she is, she couldn't have hurt Luther or Viktor the way she did. it's just that she, especially with her power upgrade, now has a very similar problem tothe one Viktor had in season 1 (and to a lesser extent 2): her ability has become hard to control and VERY easy to abuse. especially for someone absolutely losing her mind due to grief, PTSD, and the general craziness of time travel, multiple apocalypses, and being crushed by the pressure she's been putting herself under, to be the most perfect and poised version of herself, her entire life. we excused Viktor killing Pogo and losing his shit at Allison because of his circumstances. why is Allison somehow put on this pedastal where she has to be the bigger person at all times, whose power-induced rage is regarded morally worse than that of her brothers?
I think my point is being misunderstood—and tbh I may have explained myself poorly so I apologize for that. But I'm not saying that Allison has to be "the bigger person" at all, or that I don't understand why she did what she did. I'll be the first to defend, sympathize with, and praise Allison's characterization in S3 and why it is extremely in-character. I'm not arguing that whatsoever. I love her, and I think her development in S3 is some of the best and most realistic in the entire show.
What I am arguing is that it's fair to consider her arc in S3 a villain (or perhaps more accurately put "anti-hero") arc because of the intentions behind her actions and the way the story itself frames those actions.
Five went against his family's wishes and frustrated them, yes, and wasn't always nice to them, but what he did was still for them, the protagonists, and none of his actions had a significant negative affect on the protagonists. This still makes him a narrative hero.
But the bulk of Allison's decisions harmed her family in much bigger, more direct ways, and what she did was for herself. It doesn't matter that the Umbrellas made a group decision to give Harlan to the Sparrows, what matters is that she made the decision to kill Harlan herself, something that she knew would hurt Viktor. Actively and consistently hurting the protagonists and being aware that she's hurting the protagonists for her own gain would make her a narrative antagonist, wouldn't it?
I think that, too, the awareness and willingness to hurt the protagonists anyway, is what makes her actions different from Viktor's in S1 and why I don't consider Viktor the first season's villain (that award goes to Reginald and especially Leonard). Regardless of the fact that both Allison and Viktor's actions were the result of PTSD and suffering a breakdown, Viktor was not aware of what he was doing as evidenced by his trance-like (fugue?) state when he became White Violin and at least partially his amnesia in S2.
Obviously Viktor is not blameless, none of the Umbrellas are, but I think the situations are different enough that Viktor and Allison can't be directly compared 1:1. And neither can Allison and Five—irritating his siblings, killing (not-innocent) board members that had 0 emotional relevance to the protagonists, and forbidding his family from bringing along their love interests into the future are hardly the same as Allison sexually assaulting Luther or killing the closest thing Viktor had to a child.
I'm not saying that Allison is evil, or some big, irredeemable bad. I'm not saying that her actions aren't sympathetic or in-character, or not a direct result of mountains of trauma. She's not even the most "villain" villain—that will always be Reginald, who is the core of all the Umbrellas' problems—but I am saying that by definition, she is an antagonist in S3 and her actions could be interpreted as villainous, as that is how the writing frames those actions. She may not be a full blown villain, but she certainly was heading that way, which could be the start of a villain arc (which is the primary point that started this debate; that whether or not it's fair to say that Allison had a villain arc in S3). Whether this carries over into S4 or not doesn't really matter. The point is that her arc in S3 as an antagonistic character could be considered the start of one.
Again, viewing Allison this way is not an insult to her character. If people disagree with me, that's okay, in the end it's just my personal interpretation, but I think that it is possible to see a character's actions as villainous while still sympathizing with them and understanding why they do what they do.
(Also, because I'm very sleepy and couldn't figure out where to squeeze this question organically into my reply, what do you mean by Allison's "power-induced rage"? Do you mean her rumoring herself? Because I really do not think that is the case. Saying Allison's actions are solely caused by her rumoring herself and not something she was aware of doing erases her responsibility for what she did in S3 but also the signs that she was capable of abusing her power this way in previous seasons. I wrote a meta some time ago that explains why I'm not totally convinced of that theory here.)

may we return to aphrodite siblings bakugou camie and aoyama...the three of them are stuck with stable-cleaning duty one hot august day and bkg cracks up when the pegasus with which aoyama had claimed he was "bonded beyond words" drops a fat dump on his fancy french loafers, only for the horse in his stall to do the same. camie laughs so hard at them that she loses track of where she’s walking and steps on a rake and charmspeaks them into telling people the big red line on her face is a curling iron burn
#which nets her many a sympathy point especially because she's head camper#her little legion of middle school siblings who just flat ironed their hair for the first time for a school dance last spring (aw cute 🥺🥺)#look at her like 'omg our big sister still has trouble with hot hair tools she's just like us'#i'm thinking abt this because this is very much the dynamic in pjo au part 2 (!! !!!! finally have motivation to work on it again after#turning in my thesis)#and like i had known that'd be the dynamic but actually writing it and adding in more and more random interactions between#them...it really cuts to the core of why relationships involving bkg are interesting i think#like the idea of him being casually comfortable with people enough to even like be goofy on his own accord#obviously soooooo so much love to how relaxed and quiet being around kirishima makes him. like ofc i love that being w his#best friend ever and love of his life brings him so much peace that he can just exist neutral-faced and low-voiced#but still i think it's fun when the dynamic brings that same level of comfort out but like...as a speaking role#like to pull from dialogue i just wrote . if aoyama was like 'don't announce you're going to pee that's uncouth just say you're#going to the restroom' and bkg said 'i'm gonna go take a big fat dump'#weird amount of poop humor in this post but like comfy enough to say dumb things as a part of the joke#i do think one of the best things about a pjo au is letting the kids have siblings#especially when that's like a natural evolution of friendship#i mean not in the sense that friends can become siblings but that being related as demigods is like an extra layer of intimacy#and comfort and unconditionality in their friendships. those are like bigger concepts than i intended to say#i'm mostly just thinking about how these 3 being Siblings makes it so easy for just a really close silly bond to exist#idk the way all good sibling relationships in media feel. who doesn't love a good sibling relationship#anyway. them. they're good. more hcs coming? maybe#thoughts

a guide to bridgerton season 1
have u ever thought that bridgerton season 2 looks interesting but u really don't wanna bother with season 1? then this is the guide for u!
i'm gonna explain all characters and storylines from season 1 that i deem relevant here so naturally there'll be spoilers. i'm also going to do this mostly from memory (and it's been a while since i watched season 1) so there might be some minor mistakes but overall it should still get the same point across.
disclaimer: this post has an intended and expected target audience of one person so....do with that what u will. also i will be doing my best to explain erverything but i will also not be completely objective abt it. hope this helps <3
okay so getting right into it!
what is bridgerton?
bridgerton is a netflix tv show set in regency era england. the main characters are the bridgerton family, in particular the 8 children of violet bridgerton. the show is based on a book series by julia quinn, which is 8 books long, with each book being about a different bridgerton sibling meeting the "love of their life". the show follows this theme so far, with season 1 being about daphne bridgerton and season 2 about anthony bridgerton. every season has 8 episodes which are each about an hour long.
what not to expect from bridgerton:
historical accuracy
consistently good dialogue
flattering dresses (fuck i hate empire waistlines sm. and also how and why did they start a corset trend on tiktok. did nobody pay attention. there's no corsets involved here other than the absolutely useless ones they keep talking abt and showing in s1. bestie u're wearing an empire waistline why tf do u need to wear a corset)
a flawless masterpiece of a show
what to expect from bridgerton:
fun characters
occasionally really bad dialogue and occasionally some really good lines
nice visuals and colours
entertainment
classical covers of pop songs instead of normal classical music. it's distracting sometimes
good sibling dynamics
and yes ofc. sex scenes (less in season 2 than season 1 tho thank god. the ones in season 2 are in ep 7 and 8 i think)
the characters
so first i will be introducing all the characters and then get into all the plotlines, because i think that is the easiest way to explain it. season 1 is very convoluted so there is a lot of plotlines and a lot of characters to keep track of so bear with me. also i did only include ones i deemed relevant knowing for season 2 or for particular storylines from season 1 that carry on to season 2.
the bridgertons
there is a lot of them! pictured here in age order:
Tumblr media
starting out with violet bridgerton:
resident widow, lover of the alphabet (her kids are named in alphabetical order as pictured above), true love enthusiast and wannabe matchmaker nr 1
she's really into true love so she insists her children only marry if they really love their partner (u won't find a lot of endorsement of arranged marriages in this show, it's just all abt true love baby!), which makes her a little overbearing and frustrating at times but she's overall lovely and caring and also ms ma'am had 8 children she deserves to be a little annoying
anthony bridgerton:
nearly identical white guy nr 1, oldest sibling and the man of the family. takes his duties very seriously almost a little too much. very protective of his siblings. chronically stressed. if u see a white guy not frowning and having fun it's probably not him. bottles up his emotions. pathetic™. main character of season 2.
benedict bridgerton:
white guy nr 2, second oldest. the artsy sibling. if someone's painting it's probably him. very easy-going and relaxed. wants to do more with his life than sit around and be rich.
colin bridgerton:
white boy nr 3, traveling enthusiast. makes decisions™. kind of annoying at times but we persevere. midlife crisis at 21. friends with penelope featherington.
daphne bridgerton:
the star of the fam. everything is about her and if it's not about her then it's abt how it's not abt her. main character of season 1 and insanely annoying the whole time thru. looks like she's abt to start crying all the way thru s1. absolutely terrible not just subjectively but also objectively. only likeable as a side character and if u forget everything abt her from s1 and just watch s2.
eloise bridgerton:
deeper voice than u'd expect. wannabe feminist and a bit annoying abt it. a lot of people hate her bc they find her annoying but she's my girl so i will ask u to keep in mind that she's still learning and growing up with opinions different from seemingly everybody else so naturally she does things wrong sometimes as literally every human being does. she's got her heart in the right place and i think that's what matters. so bear with her pls and thank u. penelope's best friend.
francesca bridgerton:
absent icon. appears for 0.02 seconds before disappearing again. yes ma'am give us nothing
gregory bridgerton:
best boy. starts fights with hyacinth like constantly. just being fun in the background. good for him.
hyacinth bridgerton:
also just having fun in the background. starts fights with gregory constantly.
that's all the bridgertons! who is most important to remember? everyone from violet to eloise i'd say, the others don't appear much (especially francesca).
the featheringtons:
Tumblr media
if the bridgertons are the good guys these are the bad guys....pretty much. the bridgertons and the featheringtons are kind of like opposites.
lady featherington:
top left corner. i don't remember her name so u don't have to either. kinda annoying always has some drama going on that she girlbossed herself into and is now trying to girlboss her way out of again except make it complicated edition. basically the evil stepmother to penelope's cinderella except it's her actual mother. she's not that evil tho just a bit annoying tbh. only person who wears dresses that accentuate her waist and boobs.
lord featherington:
only relevant for some backstory i'll get into later u can forget abt him after this guide.
sister 1 (left, green dress):
literally never remember their names so u don't have to either. engaged to sneezy from snow white except taller. cinderella stepsister nr 1.
sister 2 (middle, orange dress):
cinderella stepsister nr 2. that's it tbh.
penelope "pen" featherington (right, yellow dress):
"the good egg" of the family and a wallflower. her mum makes her wear yellow and she absolutely hates it. is secretly in love with colin bridgerton. for reasons. eloise's best friend and friends with colin bridgerton.
some more featherington-related people:
Tumblr media
marina thompson:
distant cousin to the featheringtons. had a whole unnecessary storyline in s1 and was done super dirty. i'll get into it later. had a secret lover called george.
phillip crane:
my mortal enemy. george's .....brother????? i think????? married to marina for reasons i'll get into later. i want to kill him
lady danbury and simon basset
Tumblr media
these 2 are not related btw
lady danbury:
wannabe matchmaker nr 2, always bringing new people into town for. reasons, quite influential kinda lowkey the queen's bestie. raised simon after his father abandoned him bc he had a stutter and helped him overcome the stutter. a really fun character i like her.
simon basset:
main love interest of season 1. daddy issues so bad he swore to never have children (my bloodline ends with me type of dramatics). a boxer for some reason. allegedly a rake (that's what the besties call a regency era fuckboy) but the allegations have been neither confirmed nor denied. i think. also a bit annoying but also deserved better.
lady whistledown:
regency era gossip girl. basically an anonymous writer who has a gossip column that everyone is obsessed with. constantly talking shit abt people and Will ruin ur reputation for no reason. voiced by julie andrews. was revealed to be penelope featherington at the end of s1. girlboss.
queen charlotte
Tumblr media
the queen. obsessed with finding lady whistledown and also wearing massive gowns and wigs so big u wonder how she's even holding her head up. constantly snorting smthg, my working theory is that it's cocaine and if it's not i don't wanna know bc cocaine is funnier.
other notable side characters:
Tumblr media
madame delacroix:
modiste. singlehandedly carrying everyone's fashion on her shoudlers. fake french accent. a girlboss. had a thing with benedict bridgerton. left for france at the end of s1.
will mondrich:
didn't know his name until like 2 seconds ago so u don't have to remember it either. simon's bestie and boxing partner (and professional boxer). made a deal with lord featherington that earned him some money and he quit boxing and opened up a bar (?) no one goes to.
the storylines
okay so now i will be getting into all the storylines from season 1. there's a lot. first i'll explain the main storyline with daphne and simon and then i'll go thru all the characters and explain their respective side storylines. but first!
the setting
so bridgerton is set in regency era england as mentioned before, specifically london. every season of the show takes place in the "social season" or just "season", which means all the rich people ("the ton") hold balls and charity events literally all the time, which is why there is a ball twice every episode. every season the young ladies who are of age or smthg are introduced to the queen (their so-called "debut"). out of those the queen names a "diamond" every season, who is whatever young lady the queen likes the best and has the highest expectations for that season. that places a lot of pressure on the young lady to appeal to the queen and makes her more desirable since the queen approves of her, which also means she needs to live up to the expectations.
daphne & simon:
before we get into it a little warning there are gonna be mentions of r*pe in this storyline.
let's get into it! season 1 starts out with daphne making her debut into society, she gets presented before the queen and does so flawlessly. the queen likes her and names her the diamond of the season (that doesn't happen right away i think but i don't remember when it did so i'll just mention it right away). simon basset comes to stay with lady danbury, since she convinced him to join the season after his father passed away. lady whistledown publishes her first ever article, attracting the attention of the ton, including the queen.
anthony promises to help daphne find a suitor but drives away literally any guy even looking into daphne's direction except for the worst guy ever, lord berbrooke (he'll be irrelevant in a moment don't worry). lord berbrooke is overall very slimy and very pushy, insisting that daphne marries him, not respecting her at all, etc etc. anthony (in a bad mood due to circumstances i'll get into later) already promised daphne to lord berbrooke tho. daphne isn't very happy about it. during a ball, lord berbrooke and daphne happen to meet in the gardens (maybe he followed her i forgot), and when he tries to assault her, daphne punches him (knocked out clean ms ma'am has a strong punch). simon witnesses the entire thing which is scandalous bc a lady shouldn't be seen with a gentleman because people might just assume smthg scandalous happened between them. so daphne is caught with lord berbooke by simon, which makes this double scandalous. so simon and daphne form an agreement to enter a fake courtship (yes it's regency era fake dating), because daphne needs a suitor because she's the diamond of the season and simon wants to get lady danbury off his back (i think. very unsure abt this but simon benefitted from the whole thing as well that's for sure).
anthony doesn't like that his sister and his bestie simon are involved with each other (because he thinks simon is a rake. takes one to know one that's all i'll say), but simon tells anthony what lord berbrooke did to daphne and anthony is furious and cancels their agreement. lord berbrooke isn't happy about it and gets a special marriage license for himself and daphne (that's basically a shortcut to marriage) and threatens to expose her. lady bridgerton (violet) saves the day by spreading rumours abt lord berbrooke that lady whistledown publishes in her writing and he's forced to leave london.
daphne and simon grow closer (chemistry though? we're missing her dearly), until the queen introduces her nephew to daphne. prince friedrich of prussia (white guy with blonde hair, blue eyes and a german accent. it'd be almost offensive if i didn't go to high school with a guy exactly like that, name and all) is kinda taken with daphne. lady danbury pressures simon to propose to daphne and he calls off their fake courtship and leaves london, which upsets daphne and makes her accept friedrich's advances.
daphne attends a boxing match with friedrich, where he proposes but daphne doesn't know what to do because she caught feelings for simon so she flees to the gardens. simon shows up to say goodbye and apologise but daphne flees and then they make out. anthony witnesses that tho and demands simon marry daphne and simon refuses which makes daphne upset again. and because simon refused anthony insists on duelling simon (no not swords unfortunately. it is with guns they stand around dramatically and attempt to kill eo or smthg) (wE dUeLL at dAwN). anthony actually has ulterior motives here i'll explain later. daphne finds out tho that not only anthony witnessed them making out but so did cressida cowper, who lowkey blackmails her abt it, so daphne rushes to stop the duel. simon tells daphne that he doesn't wanna marry her because he can't have children and daphne decides to marry him anyways.
they try to get a special marriage license but the queen makes sure they don't get it, so they go to the queen to convince her that they're in love and to ask her to let them get married. they suceed thanks to simon and get married. lady bridgerton tries to explain sex to daphne, gets embarrassed, uses way too many euphemisms and metaphors and leaves daphne knowing less than before. simon and daphne travel back to simon's estate (clyvedon) and stop at an inn for the night. simon gets them separate rooms and daphne gets upset and they get into an argument and surprisingly for the first time in 5 entire episodes communication takes place and love confessions happen and then they have sex.
daphne and simon arrive at clyvedon and spend the rest of their honeymoon there. daphne has difficulty winning over the housekeeper and then offends the entire village. simon focuses on paperwork more. the housekeeper tells daphne abt simon's tragic past. daphne begs a maid to tell her how sex and getting pregnant works and finds out that simon can have children he just doesn't want to. she then proceeds to r*pe simon, intending to get pregnant and when he gets upset about it, she blames it all on him for "not telling her the truth" because he was "ambiguous with his wording".
daphne and simon continue being at odds and daphne returns to london, because colin got caught up in scandal (i'll get into it later). simon decides him and daphne will live separately if daphne is not pregnant. daphne attends a party with lady danbury. anthony and simon get into a fight. daphne discovers why simon doesn't want children. they attend an opera where daphne gets her period and then cries about not being pregnant (by the way daphne always wanted children and simon knew that which is why he didn't want to marry her bc he knew he couldn't give her what she wants).
daphne finds out more abt simon's childhood and finds letters he wrote to his father that his father never read. simon "reconsiders what he wants" after spending time with daphne's younger siblings. they throw a ball and reconcile and then go on to have kids.
that's it for simon and daphne's story. as u can see it's pretty bad. these 2 lack chemistry, have too many sex scenes, could solve their problems by sitting down and having a proper conversation for 5 minutes and overall daphne is just a terrible person. the whole time she's very whiny and whenever simon gets upset she blames it all on him. especially after she r*ped him, she never apologised for her actions and simon is forced to apologise to HER for "lying". so that's that. now onto other stories.
anthony & siena
when the whole story starts anthony is in a situationship with an opera singer called siena. they hook up casually but they're not in a relationship because they can't be because she's a commoner. violet bridgerton implies that she knows about their Thing in a conversation with anthony where she also implies he should focus on his duties more. siena also at some point says they can't be together because of their class differences. overall all you need to know about this storyline is that these two were on and off all the time, constantly going back to each other to have sex but then breaking up again because reality hit. they are in love with each other though.
by the time anthony catches simon and daphne in the gardens and demands to duel with simon, he made up a plan. either he dies or he survives by killing simon and then plans to flee the country (because he killed someone and also i think duels are illegal so that's also why? i could be wrong tho) and take siena with him and they'd live their happily ever after somewhere else. the duel gets called off though so anthony goes back to siena but she's gone and only her good friend the modiste madame delacroix answers the door and says siena has left town.
he sees her again at a boxing match with another man. she tries to make him jealous and they hook up under the bleachers and spend more time together at her house. anthony invites her to simon and daphne's ball but she declines. later, anthony goes to her house with flowers, but the man she was with earlier, opens the door. siena comes out to talk to anthony and tells him to move on from her, because she is trying to move on too and that she is content.
anthony is heartbroken and at the end of the first season exudes peak clownery, serving entire circus, when he tells simon and daphne that he has "determined that the difficulty is love itself" and he shall promptly find a suitable wife without love.
if there are any mistakes in this guide i'd say this storyline would be where they come up the most, since i just wasn't that interested in their storyline and they were on again off again so often it's hard to keep track. i liked their ending though i'm glad they let siena move on. also anthony is very different in season 1 than season 2. surprisingly, he becomes less annoying.
benedict, art & gays
so benedict's whole deal is that he's not like other girls. he would like to be an artist. at an art gallery (?) he meets another gentleman, sir henry granville, who is an artist and befriends him. sir henry invites him to a party (this is around the time daphne & simon try to get a special marriage license). when benedict gets there it's this hedonistic gathering of people having sex and making out all over the place, drinking alcohol and creating art. there he meets madame delacroix and makes out with her. he tries to get them a room but when he opens the door: boom! gay sex right in front of his eyes.
Tumblr media
yeah. it's sir henry granville his good heterosexual friend getting railed. how did this happen. anyways benedict takes a little moment to reconsider his entire life and then gets interrupted by mamdame delacroix calling his name. she's sitting on a bench (like one of those old fancy benches u'd lean/lie on and lazily eat grapes. u know the one) with another women and benedict joins them and they all make out.
at the next ball benedict meets sir henry again and benedict assures him he won't tell anyone what he saw that night. sir henry then goes on to introduce benedict to his wife and whoopsie it's the woman who was with madame delacroix that night who he also made out with (and presumably also had sex with).
at the next event of the ton, sir henry chats him up again and asks if benedict will attend another party since he hasn't been lately. benedict and sir henry then both spot sir henry's good friend lord weatherby, and sir henry offers to introduce benedict to him but benedict, acting absolutely everything but normal, makes excuses and runs off, implying that lord weatherby is in fact the guy he saw with sir henry that night.
at another ball, benedict approaches sir henry and asks him about his situation. sir henry explains that he's in love with lord weatherby and benedict is like but you're MARRIED and sir henry is like yeah and my wife can do whatever tf she wants and is protected and cared for we're probably happier than half of the people in this room. and then a very iconic dialogue happens and it goes like
benedict: and what is the advantage for all the young ladies lord weatherby is courting? or do they also share this understanding? what about honour? romance?
sir henry: what would you know of either? we live on a constant threat of danger every day, bridgerton. i risk my life every day. for love. you have no idea what it is like to be in a room with someone you cannot live without, and it still feels as though you are oceans apart. stealing your glances, disguising your touches, we can't so much as smile at each other, without first ensuring no one else is watching. it takes courage, to live outside the traditional expectations of society. you talk of doing the same, but perhaps it is merely just that. all talk.
and then he leaves. ICONIC SHIT. and i really hope this is not foreshadowing for benedict's book plot because i will literally start killing. anyways so benedict gets read to absolute filth and that's that. after that benedict starts hooking up with madame delacroix. otherwise, i think his arc ends here.
overall a nice arc, i'm suspiciously eyeing the gay people and threatening the writers abt benedict's season but we move.
colin, marina, penelope & the art of decision-making
marina comes to stay with the featheringtons and lady featherington absolutely hates her right from the start for no good reason. marina is just minding her business. then one day lady featherington finds out from a maid that marina hasn't had her period in 2 months and lady featherington comes to the (correct) conclusion that marina is pregnant. she promptly gives marina house arrest and only penelope comes to visit her in her room. marina shares with penelope that the child is from a man named sir george crane, who is currently fighting in spain. marina also wrote him a letter telling him about the child.
lady featherington decides to find a match for marina who will marry her as soon as possible, so it is not too late and would ruin her and by extension the featherington's reputation. she tries to set her up with a bunch of old guys but they're all slimy and disgusting and she doesn't like them. marina is still waiting for george to write her back. penelope checks the mail every time in case there's a letter for marina in there but there never is one. until one day there is and marina opens it and george wrote her back, denying that there was ever anything between them. marina is heartbroken.
she is then again presented with more old suitors who want to marry quickly and are in need of an heir. colin saves her from these suitors and they dance. they start to like each other. penelope, who is secretly in love with colin, is jealous of him paying so much attention to marina. lady featherington then tells marina to cut colin out because he won't marry her fast enough but marina insists and tells her she's sure colin will propose. at daphne's wedding, colin proposes to marina, but with the condition of a long engagement period, which marina simply cannot afford, but she agrees nonetheless.
colin announces his engagement to marina to his family, who aren't very happy about it. penelope then confides in colin, that marina is in love with another man, hoping to break up the engagement. colin suggests marina and him should get married sooner then by traveling to scotland. penelope then discovers that the letter from george, that broke marina's heart, was faked by lady featherington and tells marina about it but marina dismisses her and says she wants to marry colin anyways and wants to move on from george. then lady whistledown publishes marina's secret -her pregnancy- which shocks colin greatly.
through lady whistledown's writing, colin gets caught up in a scandal, which gives daphne an excuse to return to london, away from her own problems with simon, to support her brother. she arranges a meeting between colin and marina. they have an argument, colin expresses how betrayed he feels and marina explains that she didn't know what else to do. colin cancels the engagement.
daphne attends a party with lady danbury, where all the married women of the ton get together. daphne uses that chance to help marina by locating george. meanwhile marina tries to end her pregnancy through a tea and passes out. not long after, my mortal enemy sir phillip crane arrives and tells marina he is george's brother and that george died in battle and that he wanted to marry her. he then offers to marry her in his place, but marina declines and says she is no longer pregnant. but after sir phillip crane leaves, marina finds out she is still pregnant. at the end of season 1 she leaves london with sir phillip crane to marry him.
penelope gets up her courage to confess to colin, but before she can tell him, he tells her he is going to travel the world and she doesn't confess.
at the end of the show penelope is revealed to be lady whistledown.
eloise & lady whistledown
eloise is daphne's younger sister, feeling like she not only stands in her shadow since daphne appears so perfect but also like the black sheep of the family due to her feminist beliefs. she wants more out of life than just marrying a man but knows she can't do that because she is a woman. that's why she supports benedict in his pursuit of art, because then at least one of them could be happy.
around the time marina tells penelope about george and simon tells anthony about what lord berbrooke did to daphne, eloise starts wondering about how women get pregnant, which she finds to be horrible, so she wants to know how it happens so she can avoid it. she asks her family about it but violet is scandalised and forbids her brothers to tell her.
at some point eloise decides to find lady whistledown. why? i don't remember, sorry. she starts investigating and strings along penelope. the queen takes an interest in eloise's investigation, because she wants to find lady whistledown herself to make her pay for going against her. so she gets eloise to share her findings and make her find lady whistledown for her. after colin and marina's scandal, eloise wants to find her even more to convince her to restore the featherington's reputation, even when she herself has to prepare for her debut the next season. the queen isn't very impressed with eloise's results however, and decides to find lady whistledown on her own. eloise suspects madame delacroix to be lady whistledown and confronts her about it, trying to convince her to write something good about the featheringtons.
wanting to protect lady whistledown, eloise tries to find out what the queen has planned for lady whistledown. she finds out from the queen's advisor (?) that they plan to unmask lady whistledown and that they have worked out where lady whistledown gets her articles printed and that she brings them there when everyone is distracted by big events, such as simon and daphne's ball everyone is currently at. eloise then rushes to the printer's press to see if lady whistledown arrives. a carriage arrives and eloise sees a man running towards it so she tips off the carriage and tells them to leave because it is a trap. at the end of season 1 eloise finds out that benedict was with madame delacroix that same night she saved lady whistledown, meaning she can't be lady whistledown, which shocks eloise greatly.
lord featherington & will mondrich
the other ones i put a little bit of research into but this one i will recite from memory bc it's not that deep, not that important and also i've been typing for hours i have had enough besties.
okay so lord featherington has a gambling habit and spent all of his family's money on betting. lady featherington finds out about it and tells lord featherington he needs to get this sorted out again (i think so. i vaguely remember that)
(this is all a guess now bc i didn't actually understand what was going on at the time i watched it) so lord featherington goes to will mondrich, a boxer, and offers him a deal. he will bet a lot of money on him losing and wants will to lose for him. in return, will will receive some of that money, so him and his wife can live a better life. will reluctantly agrees even tho he is all about honour and gets the money. he later gets into an argument about it with simon who suspects that he lost on purpose, after he sees lord featherington leave after dropping off the money.
lord featherington then shows the money to lady featherington, who is happy they get to continue living their expensive lifestyle. lord featherington slips back into his gambling habits tho and then gets murdered by his associates, leaving his family financially struggling.
final notes
if you made it this far u're braver than the US marines truly. i hope this guide helped and enjoy season 2 it gets better from here <333
