Thinking about how Charlotte Emily most likely regularly hung out with the Aftons.

William comes downstairs at 9 in the morning to see Charlie and Elizabeth with empty teacups and a teapot, and is just like, ah. Of course. Little girls love tea parties, but indulges them anyway like "what are you two up to?" Elizabeth immediately lights up. "Charlie said that we should play British People 'cause we're British!" William, now a bit more confused, "...ah. I see." Elizabeth, "oh won't you join us? Pretty please?" Charlie then pipes in that she had also asked Mike, but that he had very unfortunately said no, because "Liz plays too mean." Elizabeth, "I do not, you're just too scared to lose!" Michael, "I can't fucking lose at 'British People.'"

Charlie and Elizabeth do atrocious things to their dolls. Drama. Tragedy. They always clash on the endings though, as Charlie wants their dolls fo have a happy end while Elizabeth wants their dolls to have an even worse end

Michael doesn't know Charlie's staying over, and brings home his schoolmates one day. William Frowns TM like "I tried to tell you Henry was dropping off Charlotte today, but you were already halfway out the door." Michael later re-enters the room to find his schoolmates picking on Charlie and pulling at her hair. The closest Michael ever feels to peace is when he's with the Emilys, so he immediately spirals at the sight like, "oh god, if Uncle Henry finds out I brought people over who hurt his daughter, he might not bring her over anymore. What do I do then? What do I do if he stops liking me?" He quickly shoos off his friends, going "dude! She's a guest, leave her be" while Charlie recovers. Before he too can follow after them, Charlie asks Michael if he'll draw with her. He hesitates. The Emilys are the closest he ever gets to peace, so he agrees and sits down to draw. "What are you drawing, Char?" "Marionette!" "'S that the creepy thing that's always watching the guests come and go at Freddy's?" "He's not creepy, he's my friend. Dad made him for me :(" "ahh. You know, my father's been building something for Liz too." "You think that it'll protect her like Marionette protects me?" "Maybe."

Charlie notices how anxious CC always seems to be, and declares one day that she'll keep him safe. She makes him a drawing of them both holding hands, and gives it to him so that he may always look upon it and know that Charlie's rooting for him. He nearly bursts into tears at the kind gesture. The whole household tries to be nicer to each other whenever Charlie's around, but CC tells her about Michael's behaviour to him. Knowing how weak Michael is to her, Charlie gives Michael a look while he's grabbing cereal the next morning like "you should be nicer to your brother. He's just a little kid." Michael immediately pauses, then awkwardly closes the cupboard like "ummm. Okay." Not wanting to use Charlie as a means to make fun of CC, he just never brings the interaction up afterwards

The Emily and Afton families joining together are constantly filled with different forms of jealousy from the Aftons. William, he's jealous of Henry. Michael, he's jealous of Charlie's positive relationship with her father. CC, he's jealous of how Michael seems to like Charlie so much more than him. Elizabeth doesn't even notice her own jealousy, but deep down, Charlie's completely peaceful household... confuses her. She rationalizes the lack of favouritism or hostility as it only stemming from Charlie being an only child, rather than Henry's good parenting. Being so young as well as being the perfect golden child, Elizabeth doesn't know how to express doubt in her father. Clearly, it must be her siblings doing something wrong if Charlie and Uncle Henry are doing so well on their own!

After CC's death, the house is filled with an unbreakable tension. It's grief. It's guilt. Michael and his schoolmates completely cut ties after what happened. And as always, the Emilys feel so separate from the tension of his own home. Michael starts talking to Charlie more frequently, more often at Henry's house rather than his own. He tries not to, or at least usually tries to hide first, but he accidentally has a complete breakdown in the living room one time. Charlie hums a soothing lullaby to him until Henry eventually comes back, notices the state Michael's in, and takes over calming him down while sending Charlie off to do some other seemingly helpful task. After Elizabeth's death, Michael only really has the Emilys left. Charlie stops just being his source of peace, and becomes his best friend. His only friend. Then after Charlie's death...

It's rather lonely all of a sudden.

Later, years later, when Michael's flesh is rotting on his bones and everything is just about to finally be done with, he sits down on the edge of a cheap creaky stage he bought, and lightly knocks his knuckles against Lefty's calf. "Charlie? Can you hear me alright? It's Michael ... I'm sorry. I know I never acted like it, but... for what it's worth... you were my best friend back then. ...Whatever's beyond this, would you like to be friends again there too?"

ADHD STUDY TIPS

I have adhd. I'm taking all online classes this semester for college. Somehow, I'm not failing. Here's what I do that works for me!

1. I have an alarm that makes me do math every morning to turn it off, it's called Alarmy! 📚

2. It also plays a different loud sound every day from random-- I have several hundred(?) ringtones downloaded from Zedge, things like songs from shows I like or Pokemon cries or MBMBAM lines, and this helps me wake up to a different sound I'm bound to like which my brain can't get used to (and then ignore). I highly suggest godzilla roars if you need to be startled awake. 📚

3. This is SUPER HARD but I always try to force myself to sit up in bed when I'm turning off my alarm or checking my phone or whatever, so I'm not tempted to pass out again. I also like to get up and loudly tell my cats "good morning" so I wake us both up 📚

4. PLEASE STOP EATING CEREAL AND BAGELS AND STUFF. You would not BELIEVE the difference it makes when you eat things like fruits and eggs in the morning. NO MORE 10AM NAPS, I'M WATCHING YOU 📚

5. I literally schedule in Duolingo time. If you aren't learning a language you can do some other enriching activity like this, idk. I force myself to do it on my computer, not phone, so I can't lay down in bed when I'm doin it. I have a 101-day streak!! 📚

6. ik this isn't available to everyone but SPACE MATTERS SO MUCH!! I got a gaming desk that we put in our living room and I do ALL of my homework there. I also got a second monitor for my laptop with is SOOOO important if you're multitasking (and we all are, bc we're adhders ibdusvcjkn) 📚

7. HAND WRITE YOUR NOTES!!! I know this is super hard for many people-- I have carpal tunnel so I get it lmao. If you can't, at least type them. YOU THINK YOU CAN MEMORIZE INFO BUT YOU'RE WRONG!! Please write as much as you can i swear it will change ur life 📚

8. COLOURED! PENS!!! These changed the game for me y'all. I take all my notes in at least 2 colours, and I cycle through them a lot. My favs are Pilot Frixions because u can erase them :) (the highlighters are epic too) 📚

9. Make your space fun, but NOT DISTRACTING. I have a plant (his name is Yoshi) and a desk Godzilla (his name is Godzilla) on my desk, but they're out of the way so I can't zone out starin at em. But also, when I'm bored outta my gourd, I can smile at Yoshi and tell him how my day is goin :] 📚

10. SNACKING BAD *BUT*... sometimes i do it anyway... i try to associate certain foods with subjects, like I eat cocoa M&Ms (which are awesome) when I'm reading my Kaqchikel textbook. On the upside, I think it helps me recall Kaqchikel better? but also the language makes me crave mnms adkldigurvn 📚

11. LISTEN TO... CERTAIN MUSIC. I have learned that music with words, even in LANGS I DO NOT KNOW, is HELL for my adhd. Right now I'm listening to stuff like "Pokemon and Chill" (lofi album on YT), Studio Ghibli violin covers, and Night on Bald Mountain 5x on repeat ibjnvc.... I highly suggest songs/videos that are, like, 20+ minutes or else you'll get distracted with the constant change. Also, that No One's Around To Help 1hr vid is REALLY REPETITIVE and therefore PERFECT for when I'm reading textbooks. 📚

12. EVERY NIGHT... i make a super detailed timetable schedule for the next day, down to the half hour. I don't always follow it but it's a really good reminder of what I gotta do. I write it on a whiteboard but sometimes I also write it on a sticky note and on social media so I don't forget. To do lists are so epic you guys 📚

13. THIS HAS SAVED MY L I F E: at the beginning of the semester I looked at ALL of my syllabi and wrote down EVERY daily task, test, homework, etc BY DATE. this is essentially a premade to do list EVERY DAY for MONTHS and oh my gosh it is the best thing I have ever done. 📚

14. I use the Forest app to track my productivity AND lock me out of apps ndsjv... podomoro timers work well too!!! 📚

15. Ok so for me this is like... a religious thing bc my Patron (my God) is a deity of fire AND working, but I like to light a candle (scented like FALL!!) and do a little prayer on it and I have it next to me when I'm workin on terrible, terrible homework. It helps me feel like my Patron is here with me, but also it’s GREAT for grounding and I can just kinda. Stare blankly at the flame and then get back to tryin to focus. 📚

16. Please drink water lmao, to make sure I drink enough I set little goals like "take a sip after every paragraph you read" 📚

17. Each of my classes has a different coloured notebook which I'm consistent with! Like, all my German notebooks through the years have been green! Also I take notes w green pens a lot in Deutsch 📚

18. HELLA STICKY NOTES... I put em on the bottom of my monitor, on a shelf by my desk, in my books as bookmarks (bad idea lol), on Yoshi. When I wanna go look up something random but I need to focus, I like to write it down on sticky notes to look at later. 📚

19. I'm the most annoying student ever. I like to do a bunch of assignments at once so I don't have to budget my time later, so I'll turn in like 5 things in an hour and then NOTHING for a week. ALSO i email my teachers constantly if I have any questions at all. I work at a pace that works for me!!! 📚

20. I turn off my sound on my phone until I'm done with work bc otherwise I WILL open that notification 📚

22. I make a loooot of chai (and also some overpriced herbal teas). It makes me feel fancy, it's better for me than coffee, and it helps me ground and focus! Plus it's a samefood! 📚

23. Hyperfixating on classic literature would be awesome, except I'm hyperfixating on Gothic and I'm taking a lit class for More Than Just Gothic. But I'm figuring out ways to connect them, which is really helpful, cause I get to enjoy my hyperfixation while learning for school! PLZ TRY TO DO THIS (harder when you're hyperfixating on godzilla :pensivecowboy:) 📚

21. When I have extra time I write my notes like I'm plannin to put em on Tumblr and taggin em as #darkacademia... I never post my notes, but when they look nice it's easier for me to look over em later. Plus it takes me longer to write so I remember it a lil better!! 📚

aw wolf! you warmed my heart. i'm gonna rant in your inbox all the time if it makes you happy :)

i just saw that you're posting chapter 6 next week and i'm over the moon!!! i can't wait to see what you've cooked up for us and how the dynamic changes between all the characters. i'm guessing after the argument between lucifer and chloe, the chapter will focus more on past!chloe investigating the case and past!lucifer spending some time with future!chloe? i wonder if they're gonna talk about lucifer fighting with past!chloe and what future!chloe will have to say about that. there's a snippet you posted where future!chloe looks a bit uncertain about cuddling up to lucifer and i can't stop thinking about it! it also looks like future!lucifer might make an appearance soon — which by the way, i can't wait to see how he too will complicate things for past!chloe and past!lucifer. because like lmao, future!chloe and future!lucifer are both obviously coming from a good place, but the four of them are all just a bunch of idiots (respectfully). so of course they're gonna make a mess before they can figure their shit out.

but anyways, whatever direction you decided to take, i know you're gonna blow my mind and that i'll be re-reading the chapter a dozen times in a row! (it doesn't help that season 6 drops three days after you post the chapter. god, it's gonna be a very long weekend!)

about that one shot about future!chloe and past!lucifer's morning after — listen, i'd read 10k words about them just lying in bed asleep if you wrote them! no but i've been wondering about their morning after ever since you posted chapter 4. like, even before reading chapter 5, that was the thing i thought about the most. it's just so interesting and fascinating to me because you have these two characters who are at completely different points in their lives and somehow they end up meeting in the middle. like just, imagine season 3 lucifer waking up to chloe decker — the love of his life, chloe jane decker. a version of chloe who knows him and loves him and supports him — like he probably didn't even sleep that night? and chloe has been there before, has already had a first morning after with lucifer, so waking up to past!lucifer shouldn't be much of a novelty but it also feels entirely different than anything she's ever experienced? and god, there are so many different scenarios to explore. like, chloe wanting to make them some breakfast but lucifer not letting her leave the bed because he wants to hold her a little while longer. or chloe studying past!lucifer and noticing all the differences between him and her lucifer. or them making french toast together and lucifer not being able to stop touching chloe. and i don't know, just a whole lot of domesticity and lucifer's heart exploding because? this is all he's ever wanted? and now he knows there's at least one universe in which he gets it? help i can't stop thinking about it! so [inconspicuously slides you a five pound chocolate bar across the table] (and also, if you ever need to bounce ideas off of someone, you know where to find me! i clearly have so many of them, and it'd be an honour!)

I won't be able to watch s6 when it drops so I will be AWOL for a bit, so I wanted to get the chapter out ahead of time.

Hahah seems like you've practically written it yourself! I love those ideas. There might be a few outtake scenes, but I'm not sure yet. One scene I THOUGHT was going to be "off screen" so to speak has now found it's way into my outline, so who knows?

My first foray into fanfic and boy did I live up to my title as king of rare pairs lol a not quite verbatim quote from the wot show, with Thom Merrilin's first appearance. I liked exploring the well overdone concept that funerals make people long for the closeness of others. Whether it's romantic or no.

2. "I promise I'm fine. We can keep walking." Rand protested, his irritation plain on his face. - Knife Play. The Wheel of Time

I really like starting with talking, don't I? I guess because it's easier to get right into the meat and potatoes of the story that way. Plus I'm big on dialog. I like the play that comes with a good bit of conversation or banter.

3. The barn was small and dingy, illuminated only by the light of a tiny cast iron lantern that their host had provided them, only served to make it look even smaller and dirtier. - A warmth so unlike home. The Wheel of Time.

Jesus christ, looking back that's a mouthful. To be fair I think I wrote and posted this at 3am? So I won't judge myself too harshly.

Much better than the last wall of text lol This one I did kind of at request, but also because I thought it would be fun.

It was very fun writing from Thom's perspective! I think because generally speaking, I am more of a Thom like character than I am a Mat. At least from my limited knowledge lol

Hmmmm... I like starting with a mouthful of exposition is what I'm discovering XD I can't help it! I'm a sucker for setting the scene!! I'm a story board artist at heart, and it shows lol

7. His boots splashed down into the gutter, the fierce downpour causing him to slip as his shoes caught on the rotting leaves and debris of the crowded city. - Adrenaline. The Wheel of Time.

.....I have no excuse for this one lmao. I wanted to write a stupid smutty thing for valentine's day because once again I am single and lonely lol

Aaaaaaand that's all my published fics! I've got some unpublished that I'm working on (I promise it's not all wot lol) but it's not ready for the world yet. Really the one thing I see going over them, is that I love descriptions. Despite the fact that I claim to hate descriptions when reading. I love telling people how the light bounces in a room, or how the wet grass feels... it's just pleasant to write and I hope, pleasant to read.
