I keep thinking that in the episode 'I Went to Market' how it was probably Greg's first Thanksgiving with family in years and also possibly his first American Thanksgiving, and how much he would be looking forward to it, and how the day is sort of ruined for him.
Not only does he have to spend twelve long uncomfortable hours in complete silence in a car with Ewan (not even including the time it would have taken him alone to drive to Canada to pick him up) his boss calls, insults him as well as his grandpa, then he's hardly at his uncle's place before he's being ordered by Tom to go into the office to do something which Greg knows is illegal but feels he like he can't say no to.
After spending the day shredding documents (well, not all of them) and meeting with suspicious guys who take them away without saying a word, Greg finally gets back, ready to enjoy time with his family only for Ewan to immediately declare that he's leaving and demands Greg to drive him back to his hotel.
If Greg, Ewan and Marianne did celebrate Thanksgiving, it's easy to imagine it being a very stilted and awkward affair so it makes sense why Greg would be looking forward to finally spending it with a large group of people who while he may not be close to, are still his family nonetheless.
Tom at that stage doesn't know enough or care too much about Greg at that point to feel guilty about sending Greg off to do his dirty work, although we do see him look remorseful in the next episode when after announcing that he and Greg are in this together because of the documents, Greg looks disappointed believing that's the only reason why Tom took him out to dinner.
Ewan on the other hand, simply doesn't care. Not that Greg is incredibly hungry, having not eaten, both at Logan's and before they set off on the long drive despite Greg saying that his tummy was rumbling, or that unlike him, Greg might actually want to spend time with his family.
Still, while Ewan tries to drag him Greg away, with Greg in the end refusing to drive him back, Tom despite making Greg do what he did, still tells him well done and welcomes Greg to the family which really at that stage, is something Greg wants more than anything. It also cements the moment that Greg starts to drift away from Ewan (his father figure) and is taken under Tom's wing, something which ultimately leads to his grandfather disinheriting him, while Tom in turn develops enough affection for Greg that he agrees to go to prison for him and asks Greg to come with him, securing Greg a better position at Waystar (the bottom of the top) and betraying his wife in order to make it happen.

HAPPY 16TH BIRTHDAY!!! To this elderly bapy boye!!! he...!!!
#cats#ghhbbb this is the first time I've genuinely considered tumblr blazing a post lol but no.. i shant.. I feel too weird putting financial#information into tumblr or whatever unless I made like a seperate bank account or something not associated with anyhting else lol#but I gave it serious contemplation which is really sayng something (the evil magical spell that all cats cast over u by their perfection)#ANYWAY.................... old man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!#it's technically like march 8th but I did his party a little early. I have other pictures to post later maybe too..hrmm#The '1' candle is actually a '4' candle with the side part cut off because they didn't have any 1s#I went all out (like under $15 still lol) and got new birthday decorations for him instead of using the same old#ones from the past like 5 birthdays that I've done for the cats lol..#His theme was rainbows mostly in as light of colors as I could find#The legal age to drive a car in the US is 16 so.... honk honk beep beep.. I shall go out and buy him the most expensive car on the market#as soon as March 8th comes. then he can run little errands (probably mostly getting kibbles or chicken somewhere)#stealing the rotisserie chickens from walmart or something lol#AND they would let him have them. He would drive up and walk inside and they'd call the manager to come over#and they would be so moved by his presence and his big goofy stare that they would just be like..... okey.. have all the chicken in the#entire store. Actually. have the store. it's yours now. And This would continue all the way up the chain until he was handed#the entire walmart company. Taipei is not hosting the big national lantern festival this year but there are still some cool things set up around the city, this one is outside Songshan Station 松山站
#afterwards i went to raohe night market 饒河夜市 cause there was a Vietnamese place i thought had bún chả#but what i mistakenly saw on the menu was actually bún cá#and i realised this error when i saw the Chinese under it as 魚米線#so i asked the lady about bún chả and she was like oh sure and then gave me bún thịt nướng??#Wikipedia says foreigners often think they're related maybe she thought i wouldn't care#i mean it was still good but my quest for bún chả goes unfulfilled#taiwan#taipei#lanterns#chinese new year#dragons#year of the dragon

not to sound like a queer theory textbook, but i wish there were more options for exploring masculinity within lgbt spaces. i'm bored of "women and nonbinary people" and "femmes and thems" and "no men allowed". i know there's a broad social scene for gay men, but i don't fit into that as i still like girls and i only pass about 30% of the time. i just wish there was a way i could meet other queer and GNC men in a non-sexual setting (i.e. not grindr) and talk with them about things like what masculinity means from their perspective, how they express it, how they relate to other men, and most importantly what brands of razors they use, because i can't keep using shitty plastic disposables forever i just can't
#lately i've been feeling quite alienated from the same queer spaces i used to feel comfortable in#idk where i slot in as an ace transmasc person. it's like there isn't really a place for me anymore (if there ever was)#i went to a queer market the other day and got misgendered by one of the stallholders who referred to me as 'sapphic' without thinking twic#feel like that sums it up really!#i have more thoughts but i've only got like 4 hours of sleep in the last two days so i should probably hold off

A little Automaton au thing! Y/N and Sun coming back from the market
Once every two weeks the closest four villages to where Y/N lives have a market at the roads crossing. Usually one could just go to the farms directly to buy or barter for things but its just most convinient to go to the market and buy everything at once. Y/N is present most times selling little spells, remedies and medicine (especally things against insect bites, pest repellant, painkillers and protective charms)

Im..... That statement is so ableist I cannot even imagine the worldview you'd need to have in order to come up with that.
They really think the only way anyone learns anything is through verbal-speaking-words-noises? No one has ever observed something before? Not even once?
This is beyond touching grass, this person just fell out of the fucking Jurassic Period when all they had was ferns and stegosaurs.
I just...
OH YES. I remember my first day of Society Lessons as a hearing person, where the everything was explained to me. Via Audiobook. FIRST they spoke and said, "you are standing on the ground." It was a life changing revelation, and the world began to spin.
But it did not stop.
THEN they said, "there are fingers on your hands." The sensation of flesh and bone crackling into existence is indescribable, but I did not yet know pain, until they told me, "that hurts." I began screaming immediately.
And yet... it continued.
They explained so much. Chairs. Tables. Walls. The sky. Frogs. Ionizing radiation. Breathing. I was told all of it, in one sitting, and only then did I understand. Only when my ears were bursting with normal hearing knowledges, did they begin... my final test.
A strange wall-chair-finger emerged from the sky-of-the-wall, stood on the ground several times, until it was in front of me. A second one came behind it, this one slimmer. The audiobook gave these things names;
Human. Father. Mother. Door. Walking. It was completely impossible to know what these things were until that very moment.
I watch a human dip a hook into water and produce a fish, and I recall my Society Lessons where they called that "fishing." I am decked in the face by a nefarious hooligan, and I have only the audiobook to thank when I know I have been "punched" by a "bad guy." It was only the magic of verbal-speaking-words-noise that made me understand that there are "other people" and that they "do stuff."
Sometimes, even, in "groups."
Before the Society Lessons Audiobook, I knew nothing. I was pure, innocent, uncorrupted by concepts such as "parents" and "door." I am grateful every day that there is no such concept as "being shown things" or "simple logical reasoning" or "looking."
Blessed be those amongst us who escape the horrors of the Society Lessons Audiobook. I pray that you never learn what anything is. Be free! Free as a bird, which also knows nothing and famously cannot learn. 🤗
DEAF/HOH FOLLOWERS I'm losing my mind do you want me to bump a 'Hearing Disabilities Herb Guide' to the top of my priorities? Something you can use to bludgeon whackadoodles like that. This is ridiculous
Obviously not a MEDICINE guide but like; common causes of hearing disability in clan cats. Accommodations for hearing loss vs congenital deafness. Actual difficulties of not having that sense Clan-by-Clan. Debunking of misconceptions like... not being able to learn APPARENTLY.
