Honestly I think my take on the "Chat Noir was not there in the final battle" comes down to the fact that I kind of just don't think a satisfying final battle between Chat Noir and Monarch was actually possible.
I read a lot of fic, for example, and I've read the scenario play out a lot of times in a ton of ways and I've never been fully convinced of it tbh (and not because they weren't great fic!!). It seems just completely traumatic for Adrien in a way that the scenario inherently cannot properly focus on, because it's all happening in the middle of an action scene and Adrien is too busy being Mid-Battle to properly have a cathartic breakdown about it all. I mean, Chat Blanc already showed us what would happen if he did have a breakdown mid-battle (and why wouldn't he?). And though it'd be fun to have a big triumphant moment of him defeating his abusive father, Adrien simply isn't a character who would find that scenario triumphant, or cathartic, or anything other than viscerally traumatic.
Also, I agree that it's unfair that Chat Noir was not present— like it was unfairly tilted in Ladybug's favor— but I don't think it'd be fair if he was present, either. Because Marinette is, in fact, the main character. The main character whose character arc is primarily focused on her finding her footing as a hero and discovering all the responsibilities that come with that power (as opposed to Adrien, whose character arc is moreso about freedom and identity). And let's face it, in a fight between Ladybug and Chat Noir and Monarch, nobody would be focused on Ladybug at all. It's not about her. It's not her fight. She'd just be there as moral support and an extra set of hands, which really doesn't work for her character arc at all and is completely unfair to her!
Basically, it would just be Chat Noir temporarily acting as the main character and having the worst time of his life in the most un-cathartic battle for him possible left completely traumatized with Ladybug in the background awkwardly trying to comfort him after the fact? And then the season ends? And then the next season presumably goes back to Ladybug being the main character? After a time-skip to the new school year? It's just an ending that I feel like is a lot better in theory than actually on paper. And you can probably make an argument for ways that it could be made to work, where it would enhance Ladybug's story in a meaningful way where she still feels like the main character, and would somehow be triumphant for Chat Noir despite it probably being the worst moment of his life, and somehow not make the rest of the series following feel like bonus content as opposed to a continuation of the story...... but, I dunno. I think it's a lot easier said than done.
The fact of the matter is, I've always been waaayyyy more interested in how the aftermath of Gabriel's defeat affects Adrien than the battle itself. Post-Hawkmoth defeat is one of my favorite types of fic for a reason, and it's because the aftermath can be so juicy, especially for Adrien as a character. I think whether or not Adrien is actually there in the battle itself has always been kind of irrelevant to me, because no matter how Gabriel is defeated, his defeat will have immense repercussions on Adrien's life going forward. And the way they did it, Marinette is now a part of it in a more active way, too. Which is good for her character!
( Also, if he was there to triumphantly defeat Gabriel, would that mean he would just.... watch his father die? of cataclysm? a-and.... nathalie would just.... die, too? so he'd have three dead parents after all that? who he watched all die (or, in emilie's case, saw her corpse)? or is this a scenario where MONARCH BEATS CHAT NOIR and still makes the wish? is that cathartic? for Adrien to lose to Gabriel? Frankly, I loved seeing Gimmi and The Wish, it's been teased for so long that I was expecting it, and I loved the fact that Nathalie got to live as her narrative reward for coming to her senses and trying to murder Gabriel with a crossbow. I like that we got to watch a full season of Gabriel painfully dying to a cataclysm— poetically inflicted on him by Adrien, but of Gabriel's own doing. I like that Nathalie has presumably adopted Adrien after having an arc of her trying to be a parent to him once she realized nobody else would, that's so much more interesting than any other alternative. I just don't see how all of these things, some of my favorite things that season 5 gave, can still all exist at once with Chat Noir present in the final battle in any way that's satisfying. )

This one guy I talked to on AO3 said that Emilie shouldn't be brought back because Adrien has already moved on from her death, but I'm not so sure about that. Other people think she should be revived so she can be her own character and not just someone else's sad backstory, and so Adrien has one good parent, of course. What do you think?
I think that it depends on the story you want to tell. There are cases to be made for bringing her back and cases to be made for letting her die. In the context of canon, I find not bringing her back to be fing stupid because it makes everything feel pointless. We obviously don't know the wish yet, but why let Gabe make the wish at all if he's not going to restore Emilie? Making a different wish isn't him being a good guy at the end. It's still him playing god, he's just now using his god powers to abandon his son for no logical reason. What loving father happily leaves his son an orphan???
Yeah, Gabriel saved Nathalie. I don't care. Nathalie chose to use the peacock to support Gabriel in his plan to terrorize Paris. That wasn't some noble sacrifice on her part! She didn't deserve to be saved any more than Gabriel did. Of the three dying/dead parental figures (I really don't know Emilie's status) Emilie is the only one who was never tempted by the dark side if we ignore the uncomfortable implications of how they got the peacock in the first place/Adrien's childhood isolation and just embrace the canon narrative that Emilie was a good and loving mother who was Too Pure For This World.
Meanwhile, Nathalie was a terrible mother figure! She supported Gabriel's awful treatment of Adrien for four seasons and then spent all of season five gently prodding Gabriel to change/tell Adrien the truth while leaving Adrien completely in the dark to everything that was happening. If Gabriel hasn't won, then Adrien would have lost both his father and Nathalie who knew that they were dying, but never gave Adrien a chance to say goodbye because Nathalie never stopped putting Gabriel first in almost every way that mattered. Adrien still doesn't know that he could have been allowed say goodbye to his father because Gabriel's death was entirely predictable.
Along similar lines, I don't think that Nathalie was wrong to undo Gabriel's senticommands, but it is deeply messed up that she was happily doing it in secret and never once considered giving Adrien a chance to consent. A loving parent should find the idea of controlling their child deeply upsetting. She should have been tempted to tell Adrien the truth, especially since she knew that she was dying, but we never see her consider that.
She also does nothing to get Adrien's slave collar away from Gabriel or to stop Gabriel from terrorizing Paris even though we have a scene where she literally pins Gabriel to a table. Her turn to "good" did nothing but maintain the status quo because she continued to support Gabriel in all the ways that truly matter. She never really protects Adrien. She does not deserve to be Adrien's new mother. #BringEmilieBack!!!
All of that is assuming that Gabriel's wish saved Nathalie while sacrificing himself and Emilie. If so, then that is literally the most boring way to go about letting the wish happen. You could have just as easily had Gabriel lose and have Ladybug know a way to save Nathalie via Guardian magic. The end result would have been the same.
If Gabriel had chosen to give up on the wish entirely? Then Emilie not coming back would be a satisfying ending. I personally really like Gabriel being defeated and the heroes then bringing Emilie back. Very much a spite move for me, plus it's a nice way to lessen the sting of Gabriel's defeat. Adrien losing his father, but gaining his mother feels really satisfying to me, especially if Emilie gets to serve Gabriel divorce papers. Got your wish, old man. Now suffer for it.
No matter the case, saying that Emilie shouldn't be brought back because Adrien has moved on is bad logic as it implies that Emilie is only worth bringing back if Adrien say he wants her back, as if she's a beloved childhood toy that someone broke long ago. It also implies that Adrien wouldn't want her back just because he's accepted her loss. Those are two very different things. Imo, one of the show's failings is the fact that Adrien is denied the right to grieve as if that makes him a better person. A better show would show healthy grief vs unhealthy grief (Adrien vs Gabe). She's been gone less than a year when the story starts. Everyone processes grief different, but that's really fast to move on from the death of a parent.

ok, something that are bothering me that people are making out about the finale of Miraculous (im not saying it's perfect but i want to analyse this)
Why Ephemeral's Gabriel's wish was worse and Recreation's was allowed?
Intention. In Ephemeral Gabriel only wanted to have Emilie back, regardless of who had to die for it. He indeed wanted to create a new reality in which she never got sick. In Recreation, Marinette talked to him and Gabriel got to hear his wife's last wish: let me go, accept your mistakes and love our son. He didnt create a new timeline, nor a new reality, he just changed his future, Nathalie's and probaby his wife's as well. That's why everyone still remembered everything
Does Adrien sees Gabriel as a hero?
For what i saw, yes and no. Adrien only saw Gabriel as a "hero" for giving his life to "defeat" Monarch, probably wishing to have been there helping Ladybug. But after that, he literally told Marinette "with you, i finally feel free". So he still remembers his father's abuse and incarceration. Sadly, he was still his father, so obviously his death still matters. And that theme could and should be touched in season 6
Why the statue?
Because Tomoe needed to save her ass lmao. No one apart from Gabriel, Nathalie and Lila knew she was involved. So she probably blamed Monarch of the hijacking, accepted Ladybug's "truth" of Gabriel dying and made the statue to look good for the parisians.
Why everyone acted as if nothign happened?
They did not. And this is important : THERE WAS A TIMESKIP. BECAUSE MS BUSTIER'S BABY WAS BORN. And Alec says it has been weeks since Caline was elected Mayor of Paris, so it has been a bunch of time for Adrien to mourn his father and for the rest to get themselves ok after the Nightmare Event.
i think these are the most important points being discussed. Obviously there are stuff i dont agree with (the statue specially, i hope Parisians pee on it), but there are some stuff that need a little more of instropection and not literally be told to the face.

another outline for a fanfic i won’t write:
at some point in season 3/season 4 hawk moth and mayura come up with a plan to split up ladybug and cat noir and take them separately.
mayura gets cat noir and hawk moth gets ladybug. they both succeed (nathalie is struggling with the realization that adrien is cat noir but decides not to tell gabriel about it yet.) and they each come back with the jewels to the mansion.
there in his office gabriel is like okay give me the ring and nathalie is like. no. you give me the earrings.
so gabriel is like??? what no. you give me the ring now, it’s my wish. and nathalie is like fine i’ll give it to you but .. have you thought about who you’re going to sacrifice in exchange for emilie?
but of course gabriel hasn’t he’s just like i don’t care what the price is i want emilie back. so give me the ring. nathalie tells him that he has to choose someone because what if the kwami chooses for him? what if they choose to take gabriel in exchange. or worse. adrien.
so gabriel hesitates and then asks well then what did you have in mind. but nathalie doesnt answer and just insists that she’ll make the wish.
gabriel starts to get scared. he doesn’t know what she’s planning and how she refuses to tell him makes him more worried. so he starts carefully walking towards nathalie like okay okay let’s calm down. just tell me what i should do and i’ll make the wish. but nathalie is walking backwards with her fist tight around the ring.
eventually she says no and begins fighting him for the earrings. they’re struggle for a while but in their normal forms nathalie is way better at fighting because of her martial arts training so she manages to snatch the earrings away BUT gabriel is stronger than her as hawk moth so he transforms and is able to grab her by the wrists, take the miraculous (also the peacock), and pin her to the wall.
and he asks her to just tell him what she was thinking. she still refuses insisting that she will only make sure that he is happy with his family. in the middle of it gabriel realizes. that she wants to sacrifice herself.
gabriel tells her that he will absolutely not let that happen. but she argues that she’s already dying. that she already made this choice from the moment she picked up the peacock miraculous. and gabriel is shocked because he didn’t think that nathalie was actually so prepared to just die for their cause. he thought that she was just as convinced as him that when they had the wish they would save both her and emilie.
but now he realizes that that means not only one death he has to choose for the exchange but two. and the weight of someone actually dying is only now downing on him. he tells her no you can’t die. you’re important to adrien and I.. you’re.. you’re important to me too. if emilie comes back and she learns that i let you die in exchange she will hate me.
and nathalie is like well good luck with that because i’m dying anyway.
so it hits him. that yes the exchange is supposedly fair but it doesn’t feel fair. and also the fact that he somehow let nathalie feel like she’s so disposable, that she doesn’t want to live anymore if it means helping him with emilie. he says something about that, like, i can’t believe i made you feel that way. and. do you think adrien feels that way too? (as in. he feels that he’s not important enough, that his father would rather him dead than emilie)
nathalie thinks about adrien being cat noir and says no. he doesn’t feel that way because in contrast to her adrien has a future. he has goals and friends and purpose.
so then gabriel thinks for a while and eventually lets go of her. she’s tired so she falls to the floor while he calls tikki and plagg to reveal themselves and then gimmi. and he asks if he can make a deal with the kwami.
he says i want my wife back and the kwami says what are you willing to pay and he says that’s the thing. i know i would never give up on achieving that, no matter what i will always get what i want. i just did actually (the kwami also thinks of all the alternate timelines where he always wins and knows it’s true that he would never give up.) and gabriel says i will save my wife Unless. you make it so nathalie is no longer ill from the miraculous. then i’ll stop.
and the exchange is in fact equivalent because he’s exchanging emilie’s life, which he was fated to recover anyway, with nathalie’s life, which was fated to be lost since she was convinced to give it herself.
so the kwami accepts.
then the universe is destroyed and rebuilt and now emilie’s device thing that keeps her alive is gone, she’s buried in a cementery where she should have been, the kwamis have taken all the miraculous back to ladybug and gabriel and nathalie are just standing there in front of emilie’s portrait.
gabriel explains to nathalie that he realized he was being a hypocrite by telling her she couldn’t sacrifice herself while also letting her and even asking her to wear the broken miraculous. that he just hadn’t realized how much he was hurting her.
nathalie of course feels awful, like she has selfishly taken his chance away from him and also like she now has lost the single purpose she had in life so how is she going to keep on living?
gabriel holds her hand and tries to reassure her that he would also have hurt emilie with the knowledge that he took anyone’s life to bring her back, and she would hate him for it, as he would hate himself. and he tells her that now instead of having lost all purpose she has to see that she’s free to choose a new one, just like he will.
he smiles at her and she’s taken aback by the sight because he hasn’t smiled like that since emilie. nathalie says something about it being fine because her goal was for him to be happy again and it seems that there’s hope for that after all.
they hug and the end 🥰

ML Plot Points: Felix and S4 Finale
I mentioned in the S4 that Felix had his debut in S3. The episode remains mostly the same with two big differences: the akuma is not a weird lazy combo of previous akumas, and Felix’s amok is not the ring. Felix getting the ring is mostly because of his mom wanting it. Also so he could get an idea of what Gabriel’s home defenses are like.
In early season 4, after the early season akumas, Felix arrives at the manor and basically tells the Agrestes that he’ going to be staying in Paris. Either Gabriel lets him in the manor or he gets an apartment nearby where it’s harder to keep track of him. Gabriel is not amused, but gives in.
It’s worth noting that Felix knows already that he’s a sentimonster and that Gabriel is Shadowmoth, so there is no “Oh my god! My uncle is a supervillain” moment. Though he is mildly perturbed by the body in the basement.
Sentimonster or not, Gabriel cares about his nephew and will not use the peacock to thanks snap him. He will use it as a threat though, which leads Felix to gather as much evidence and dirt on Gabriel as he can and puts it on a dead man’s switch. If he doesn’t update the password every two days, it’s all sent to Adrien and the heroes. This situation leads to a back and forth between the two where Felix tries to get the peacock and collects as much blackmail material as possible, and Gabriel tries to stop him, sometimes with akumas.
Their little back and forth culminates in the season finale. Nathalie has been using optigami to try spying on the heroes, with limited success. She has discovered some identities, but none of the permanent heroes. Still, they figured out that Ladybug is in Adrien’s school. So they make a plan. Nathalie sets up the trip to get Adrien out of the city and, as Mayura, creates a Sentinathalie to accompany so she can keep track of him while being nearby in case Gabe needs an emergency akuma. Gabriel akumatises Risk and lets him go nuts for a couple of days. Once everything is set up, Gabriel dismisses Risk and creates Strikeback.
Since Strikeback is a sentimonster created form the peacock holder, Strikeback is immensely powerful and practically impossible to control, thus, why they need Adrien out of the city. The attack works almost flawlessly. They cause a lot of property damage, Ladybug is forced to rely on new Temporary heroes and both Carapace’s and Rena Rouge’s identities have been compromised. Gabriel breaks Strikeback’s amok and calls it a day.
And then everything goes wrong.
See, Adrien is not the one on the trip, it’s Felix. Adrien, knowing that he couldn’t afford to leave Paris, convinced Felix to take his place. Ladybug, having just discovered that her usual Dog holder (and everyone else, for that matter) was compromised, goes to “Adrien” to have one temp holder not manipulated by Risk. The fight against Strikeback goes a little differently, but the summary is that most of the holders are about to run out of time and Ladybug has them go to different locations to get their miraculi separately without compromising anyone else. When she goes to find “Adrien”, she finds no one. And her yo-yo disappears.
It only takes her 6 seconds to get out of her surprise and retransform to eliminate her yo-yo, but that’s enough time for Felix to pull out a bunch of miraculi.
The thing that need to be understood about Felix is that, while he is genuinely smart, he is also an arrogant asshole. He thinks that, now that he has the raw might to win, he can finally drop the clandestine approach and just punch Gabriel to get the peacock. So he does the not very smart thing and unifies every miraculous in his possession:
-Miraculi that I want Felix to have: dog, ox, fox, turtle, tiger.
-Miraculi I wouldn’t mind giving him: pig, mouse and rooster.
That’s somewhere between five and eight miraculi simultaneously on the first day he has used a miraculous. If it wasn’t for his sentimonster regeneration, he would just die instantly, and he doesn’t even know about it beforehand.
Having swallowed his amok, with the Ox cutting him off from the peacock (making it impossible for him to get Thanos snapped) and the rest of his miraculi powering him up, the newly named Baskerville decides to just take the brooch from Gabriel.
It doesn’t go great.
Felix gets caught in a trap almost immediately and in the time it takes for him to escape, Gabriel has transformed, akumatised Nathalie into Domain and given her a sentimonster. Thus begins the most interesting fight I’ve foreshadowed in the posts about world building and powers.
Shadowmoth has all the same advantages he and Mayura had in the season 3 finale fight.
Domain has the ability to possess and alter the layout of the mansion, as long as she’s inside of the property.
The sentimonster (I haven’t thought of a name for it, suggestions are appreciated) has a space warping power that only works inside of the property. More specifically, it can change what doors lead to what room and the size of the rooms and hallways.
Baskerville has unlimited uses of the powers of all the previously mentioned miraculi.
During the fight, We finally get a look at how unhinged Felix trully is and why. He screams out about how awful it was growingg up with him. Being forced to obey every unreasonable expectation just for being alive, suffering every humiliating punishment for not reaching them, having his memories tampered with when he lashed out at him.
Using so many miraculi like that is putting him in excruciating pain, but it’ll be worth it if he finally gets to have control. It’ll be worth every lie, every scam, every underhanded bullshit trick he’s had to rely on to survive. He will not be controlled by anyone else again. He’s killed one rich jackass to get control of his life, he’ll do it again.
After some careful retrieval from team Moth (by which I mean they cut off his limbs), Felix is left with only the fox and the ox. In a last-ditch effort, he takes a punch to the face from Shadowmoth, losing the ox but getting the peacock. After that he immediately runs away.
In the meantime, the Hero Squad has caught on to the fight happening in the manor and is about to capture him. Gabriel is too injured to continue, so he hands all the miraculi to Nathalie so she can continue the job. The season ends with Nathalie using the Dog miraculous to get the crystal coffin out of the basement into an obscure warehouse one day the company and Gabriel surrounded by all the active heroes.
Things I didn’t elaborate on above:
-Marinette detransformed in front of Adrien because doing it quickly is more important than letting the miracle be stolen. Adrien promptly reveals his identity to her. This is how they find out Felix is a trick ass bitch.
-Felix is the only sentikid. There’s no SentiKagami, SentiChloe or SentiAdrien. It’s just him. He was made by Colt because him and Amelie were having trouble having children and is based on Adrien. Felix has… feelings about the person he’s a magical clone of.
-Felix’s amok is not the ring, it can be any random object, but it’s something that he carries with him almost religiously after he shows up in S4.
-Felix killed Colt. This would be implied subtly throughout the season and finally confirmed during the final fight. He poisoned his food to do it.
-Colt used the amok to mess with Felix’s memories rather often, so he’s not a reliable narrator about a lot of things. I really want to lean into the existential horror of not knowing how reliable his own memories really are.
-Felix suspects Adrien is Chat Noir but he is not completely certain.
-
GOD this is so much more fascinating than Canon.

"I'm sick of these games Gabriel," Nathalie prods at his chest and for all her anger his stomach turns over at how it gives under her finger like rotten fruit.
"Unpleasant isn't it?" Gabriel says in the pause her shock grants him, his voice even in a way that suggests the nerves there must be dead, "which is why I have to get Ladybug and Chat Noir's as soon as possible. Or do you want us both to die leaving Adrien alone."
"Oh don't talk to me about Adrien," she snaps back, "what's the point of all these breakfasts and dinners and pretending we're all a happy little family when you're ruining his happiness?"
He scoffs, "the girl? What's she to his family? To the future he could have? Without Kagami we don't have Tomoe, and without Tomoe we-"
"You never should have involved her." There isn't a drop of atlruism in that woman's body. She'll take her price. She already is.
Gabriel's frowns, his eyes darken. "You're the one who left me to deal with this alone."
"Oh don't turn this around on me. Not when you're the one who could have ended this all before it began, but no- you had to be distracted by the heroes like they're more important than your wife. Than me. And now you're asking me to pretend to your son that everything is OK while I'm dying for you?"
"What other choice do you think you have? Are you going to go to police? They can't heal you. Or the heroes? They won't. No, all that would happen is that they'd try to put both of us in prison. Not that I'd let them take me but," the bastard dares to shrug one elbow, "it would take up time. Time neither of us has to lose Nathalie. You're as trapped in this quest to get the Miraculous as I am. There is no other choice."

Gale Reviews: ML Season 5 episode 19 Pretension
(Spoiler warning. As this is once again not in order)
-Marinette and Adrien trying to fit as much time together as possible is f*** cute
-Oh s*** Argos is watching them.
-Marinette rushing up to tell Adrien she is done settling for 4 minute dates “oh hi Kagami “
-No Marinette, Gabriel is shit. You are incorrect.
-Kagami said she was inspired by Marinette. Cute
-Gorilla is the only G I respect.
-Gabriel seems to be getting worse and they trying to use Kwami magic to fix him,
-You drag his ass Roarr.
-Nathalie stop helping the man, let him die.
-Tomoe there just mocking him basically.
-“Get your kid under control.”
-so Marinette joins Adrien to meet his father.
-So confirmed Gabriel can only cook pancakes. My man needs to learn about nutrition.
-Gabriel commanding Adrien to go up stairs. Adrien obeying but not wanting to
-No cap, Adrien looked like he was in agony. Like he was trying to get back down but couldn’t.
-THE PANCAKE SPEECH, damn Gabe that’s cold.
-Though Gabriel is right about Fashion. It’s about crafting impossible standards.
-“I Create people” we get it Adrien is a sentimonster.
-I can give you the World but give up on my son. Such a fanfic trope but it’s exactly what i wanted
-But he is wrong if he thinks he can interfere with Marinette and Adrien’s love
-Marinette dashed like a pro to Adrien
-So he was Literally at the door just stuck?
-The Adrienette was cute.
-G knew to move out of an Alpha’s way
-YO MARI! ROAST HIS ASS!
-Someone please make a video of Marinette doing Riley’s F*** you speech in the fundraiser to that roast
-Mari held it together until out of view, respect
-Kagami stood up to her mom, but Tomoe ain’t having that
-
Tumblr media
She is sort of right, but this is a tactic of control so… f*** you tomoe.
-Argos said “fuck that noise,”
-Argos just kidnapped Kagami after he crashed the car!
-Tomoe Blinging up!!!
-Ohh Ikari gozan got an upgrade, now she is riding the horse dog thing
-oh she gave herself super smell to track Argos, clever
-let’s see, Bee, Chicken, Mouse, and Horse. Damn that’s a solid combo
-Kagami gets put down and he IMMEDIATELY GOES TO STRIKE HIM WITH A CHAIR!
-You know what I realized… Felix is a kid. He is doing what a kid would do with super powers and no supervision. He doesn’t have a moral compass so he really doesn’t grasp what he did is wrong… it’s actually kind of funny how naive he is.
-“You can’t kidnap people!” “You’re right, I won’t do it again. I just got mad your mom was being mean to you.” Ohh that’s adorable.
-Marinette in shock at what she did
-Tikki was like “Yas Queen slay”
-Adrien gushing about his GF, then realizing he gotta fight akuma.
-Everyone there to save Kagami
-Chat noir thinking Tomoe has a point.
-“We technically all want to save Kagami.”
-“Akuma under monarch is bad. Can’t risk it.”
-oh no she got his scent!
-Kagami is right, she can take care of herself (yeets Argos)
-Tomoe really ruined that by trying to shoot her daughter too.
-Kagami reeling from that.
-“You never met my father, he was 1000x worse?”
-Is every rich person a s*** parent? Wait no, Amelie is nice. But that’s an exception not a rule
-Felix is still Felix, screwing with Tomoe
-Kagami is like “Why not make a sentimonster.”
-“I’m anti-Slavery” Felix saying the right things
-Felix showing he’s a better parent then most people in the show.
-Kagami is sick of being called a prisoner and defends Felix. That’s cute
-Ladynoir we’re not expecting Feligami either
-Ladybug deciding to help them out
-Kagami cutting the string is symbolic of her cutting the strings of control
-I’m convinced the most romantic place in Paris is the sewer
-“It was your pretension that failed us.” Gabriel salty
-She forced her to give back the crest. Wait… Omg. Welp guess it’s Slavery
-“enjoy your time with her son, make memories with Marinette. For when we move to london next year.”
-Did he Adrien just Snarl at his father!
-Nathalie is this close to beating Gabriel’s ass. Do it Nathalie. Just do it
-Adrien didn’t tell Marinette about london. Plagg is right.
-Plagg is a mood
-Bonus scene!
-Felix got the real ring and gave it to Kagami in the movie theater… I ship it
_____________________________________________
So on one hand… I hate the sentimonster bulls*** that’s all but confirmed… on the other hand Marinette’s speech was badass af.
I thought the feligami would be forced but it actually felt natural. I liked the episode
The Adrienette was good and I really hope they do SOMETHING that allows Adrien to break free.

The final day. The many questions.
Tumblr media
The season finale,… I had only came across one leak (about Lila), other than that I didn’t know what to expect. I wasn’t very hopeful, but I did had expected some minimum things and they just didn’t happen. No reveal, at least not the Ladybug-ChatNoir one. No Adrien finding out about his father,… And didn’t Astruc say that by season 5 everyone was gonna know one another’s identities?
Anyway,… i’ll go into more detail below the break. I’ll be as brief as possible on the things that I’ve seen the fandom has already talked about.
“[…] instead that he remembers the times I tried to be a good father.” Seriously?? Were the writers trying to make a joke here? Someone needs to go tell Rapunzel to not remember Mother Gothel for the years she had her imprisoned but for the food and paint that she provided her. 🙈
The wish… The wish that has the fandom talking.
Tumblr media
At first I had thought his wish was something like “I wish for the perfect world that I have in mind”. But then the “What do you sacrifice?” part would make no sense. His soul in exchange for a perfect world? Yeah right, because a man that has done the things that he has must have a soul that is worth gold for the universe. I think that perfect world thing was put there to distract us from what really happened.
I read someone saying how the wish didn’t make sense because if Emilie hadn’t come across the peacock miraculous or a damaged peacock miraculous then nothing would have happened. No Hawk Moth, no need for Master Fu to hand the miraculous, etc. I agree. But I don’t think his wish was to change the past. It only changed the present. Everyone still remembered the alliance rings and… everything. Nothing really changed about their past.
The thing is that his wish apparently did at least two things: heal Nathalie and bring Emilie back to life. I say ‘apparently’ because the writers love to be playful and contradict the things they once wrote for previous episodes. That could be Amelie and not Emilie. Yes, definitely. It could be.  But then why make Emilie and Gabriel fly together and glow like that? Red herring? Could be, but it would be too much, wouldn’t it?
My second thought was that Gabriel didn’t really die. He said how he didn’t want to let her go. The man’s not sane, so, could it be that he asked for his soul to inhabit his wife’s body? I mean, Emilie was already dead. She was a corpse forced into staying ‘alive’ because of the coffin thing he had put her in. And he was someone whose soul was still here, but his body was disintegrating. So, each had a half. But then I remembered Nathalie. If Gabriel went into Emilie’s body, then how is it that Nathalie healed? Then I remembered an episode from Once Upon a Time where one heart was used to keep two people alive. I know, that’s a different show, but as I have said before, the writers have “borrowed” things from other shows before. And wasn’t that Gimmi kwami made out of Tikki and Plagg?
Could it be that his wish was for Adrien to have two parents or something on that line?  I would like to think that they didn’t make the wish scene so vague just for nothing.
Personally I didn’t like the “true form” of Plagg and Tikki. Instead of magical beings they looked like aliens from outer space. Also, I prefer the idea of a small kwami holding so much power. That could had been used as a way of saying “don’t judge by appearances”.
Tumblr media
Gabriel... I knew they were going to give Gabriel a “redemption”.
It can’t be compared what Gabriel has done to what Chloè has done, yet, they made him look good. Sentimental background music and all. It’s ridiculous. And what I find most… let’s say ‘interesting’, is how there’s a portion of the fandom that seems to really have forgiven Gabriel. “Poor him, he sacrificed his own life for his wife and son”. I can’t. My head can’t process that. And I have a hunch that if something like that had been written for Chloè, the fandom wouldn’t had been as forgiving with her.
I’m waiting to see how they’re going to redeem Lila.  I find annoying this new Lila super spy, expert in electronics and disguise.
The Bug Noir costume… I had expected something different. The combination of these two miraculous is the key to make a wish. So, the transformation alone, I would had expected it to be something more dramatic and the costume to be way more than just a mash up of the two costumes. I read someone saying she looked like a goddess. Ok,… The dots on her eyes were too much in my opinion. And excuse me, but for showing how her outfit looked did they really had to use those points of view??? There was a moment where the “camera” was focused on her bottom. Come on! Don’t do that.
And what about Gabriel being able to use the venom power without being transformed?!  Where did that come from? Did I miss an episode where they talked about this? For how long has he known he could do that? If the writers are going to bend the rules like that then Gabriel is the worst villain ever! I mean, he only needed three people to have succeeded in getting the miraculous.  No need to do any of what happened in this finale. Use one akuma to create a villain. Brainwash that person into pretending to want to kidnap himself and Tomoe. When Ladybug and Chat Noir show up to help Tomoe and Gabriel use the venom power to paralyze them and take the miraculous.
It is ‘curious’ how the power of the miraculous could be shared to so many people. I would had thought there would be a limit or that at least the effect would be less powerful since it was being spread worldwide, but nop. And did he really transferred the powers of all the kwamis to all that people? I mean, back in the first episode Gabriel couldn’t bear all that power. What changed? Because it was channeled through the ring? Sorry, but that for me is another example of lazy writing.
They wanted to have someone using the Ladybug and the Cat miraculous at the same time, ok. But couldn’t they have come up with a different way to do that? Adrien was completely taken out of the battle!
I don’t like how he didn’t learn about his father being their enemy. The “she wanted to protect him” excuse is not enough for me. How is it her right to decide what he can know? At the very least they could had added a quick scene with Emilie or Nathalie telling her not to tell him, that they would do that. And… I don’t know… if at some point Adrien finds out the truth and that Marinette knew and didn’t tell him, he could feel betrayed and he would be right if got mad at her for not telling him. Thing that, of course, in this show would never happen.
Another thing… What was the point of sending Adrien and Kagami to London? I think I remember either Gabriel or Tomoe saying something like it was to protect them. Ummm…. they still received the evil fairy dust. So, I repeat, what was the point?
Oh… What was this scene with Marinette playing Tinker Bell and doing something with the miraculous? Gabriel needed this high-tech lab to reshape the miraculous, yet she can do it in her room? Unless they tell me that she only placed a gemstone over the kwami’s symbols to make the miraculous a bit more discreet, this scene wouldn’t make sense.
Something else that doesn’t make sense. In the beginning of the second episode of this season when they added that ridiculous scene of Su-Han on his hands and knees asking for forgiveness, he said he was going back to the temple to get some help. It seems like in the way he forgot what a big threat Hawk Moth with all those miraculous was. Someone could tell me that he was busy training Luka, Jagged and Penny. First, when Luka left, he went right away looking for Su-Han? And even if that had been the case, Migration was episode 13. What was Su-Han doing all the time before that. And there’s still another thing. According to Su-Han a guardian cannot be a miraculous holder; I imagine he would say the same about an apprentice. Then, if he knows how powerful Hawk Moth was, wouldn’t it be more useful training them in mastering the use of a miraculous instead? There are supposed to be many miraculous boxes. That was said back in season… 3? Again, this is lazy writing. The decisions the characters take don’t make sense.
And there’s something about the end that doesn’t make sense and that also showed Marinette acting wrongly. The miraculous are incredibly powerful, which makes them incredibly dangerous in the wrong hands. Hawk Moth was no more. How is it that Su-Han didn’t ask for the miraculous? He should had taken them away back to the temple where one would like to assume they would be better protected under the eyes of all the order of the guardians. Sure, we saw that weird scene with Lila, but they don’t know about that. As far as they know there’s no longer a thread that requires magical powers.
And the part where I say Marinette acted wrongly is in not having renounced to the miraculous herself and to her role as guardian. Any truly mature and responsible person would had done that. Season 4, she lost the miraculous. Ok, she was fooled by Felix when he helped Hawk Moth steal the miraculous. She thought it was Adrien and not Felix. Still it should had been enough to revoke her role as holder and guardian. Everyone can make mistakes, yes. Everyone deserves a second chance, definitely. But since we’re taking about such powerful objects, the rules should be more strict.
And then again this season. She lost. She just was lucky that Gabriel’s wish wasn’t a destructive one. This is more than enough for Su-Han to have said “Thank you, but this is it”.
I go back to the point that she’s been portrayed as this mature person. A mature person would had made the sacrifice of loosing her memories if that meant the safety of such powerful objects. And thinking about it… who says that she “has” to officially renounce to being a guardian? Just hand Su-Han the miraculous and keep your memories. Maybe go train at the temple and when she becomes an adult and a trained guardian then she can receive back the miraculous box.
Oh, I almost forgot. How is it that she hadn’t figured out that Gabriel was Hawk Moth? Hadn’t she learned from Felix’s tale that Gabriel had the peacock miraculous? One plus one is two. You learn that Gabriel used the peacock miraculous to create Adrien. You know that Hawk Moth lives somewhere in Paris. You’ve seen Hawk Moth using the peacock miraculous. Then…
Astruc clearly wanted to create something epic. I don’t know if as a goodbye or if was trying to convince someone that he was more valuable in the writing team. For me the finale was too weird, too rushed and surreal. It was chaos. But it seems the fandom loved it, so that’s that. Wonder how long before they announce the series have been authorized for more seasons.
Wonder how much longer they’re gonna keep postponing the reveal. It is so unnecessary to postpone it. There are shows where the heroe’s identity was revealed in the first season (sometimes even in the first episode) and that didn’t affect the show in a negative way, like people loosing interest. I think they are more aware than they’re willing to accept that their writing is not the best and they don’t want to burn the one thing that the fandom has been waiting for so many years.
For season 6 I would expect them to come up with a seriously big bad antagonist. I mean, all the power from all the team should be enough to neutralize just about any threat.
As an ending to this post i want to point out the amazing work of the artists involved. The lighting, the textures, the composition. Personally that was my favorite thing about these two last episodes. Would had been awesome if the writers had put this much effort.

I wrote something. It’s probably garbage but it came to me out of nowhere and I decided to put my ideas into writing before they disappeared forever, for once
“Gabriel, you’ve gone too far.”
Nathalie? What was she still doing up so late? Adrien had only just gotten back from patrol, and it was late for him. What was Nathalie still doing up? And his father, too?
“I could understand when you were doing this for Emilie’s sake, but this is beyond that now. You’re insane. It’s like being Monarch has completely consumed you.”
What? No, that couldn’t be right. There was no way. No way his father was the villain he and his lady had been fighting for—
“Not only have you put all of Paris in danger, but your own son! How many times have you tried to akumatize him now, Gabriel? How many?” He wasn’t paying attention anymore. He couldn’t. How could he when he just learned his father was the very man who had been trying to hurt him and Ladybug for so long? Who had put so many people in danger? How could he ever forgive that? How could he forgive himself for not knowing?
He moved before he had any time to think. He hadn’t even registered that he had transformed. Nor did he register himself calling upon his cataclysm and trying to kill his own father. He hardly even felt the excruciating burn of his own touch slowly destroying him as he missed his target.
Shit.
He missed.
He tried to hit his father and missed.
He would die instead.
Once again, without thinking, he made his way out of the Agreste manor as quickly as he could. Did he reveal himself? No, he couldn’t have. He might have… he wasn’t sure. It didn’t even hit him that he had travelled all the way across the city until he caught a glimpse of her worried eyes staring back into his as she unlocked the window to let him enter.
“Chat Noir?” Marinette certainly hadn’t been expecting this visit. Especially not since their last meeting when they revealed their feelings for one another. Since deciding to remain friends, Marinette hadn’t seen much of the masked man—not as just Marinette, at least. Her train of thought was cut short when she looked him over once more, realizing the ragged state he was in. He was doubled over, hardly holding himself up and nursing some kind of burn on his side. His suit seemed to have disintegrated under the area.
He was in tears. The silly, always-smiling Chat Noir was crying.
He could barely choke out her name, all but collapsing into her as the realization of what happened caught up with him. His father was Monarch. And he was none the wiser. This whole time, his father had been putting countless people in danger and he never realized. He was such an idiot. How could he not know?
“I’m here. What’s wrong?” She rubbed gentle circles along his back in an attempt to ease whatever had gotten him so worked up. Was there an akuma? Did he fight against a villain alone? No. She would have noticed if something had threatened Paris. Besides, she was out on patrol with him not too long ago. What happened?
He was silent for a moment, then everything spilled out of him in a barely intelligible stream of words. “Marinette, I’m so sorry. This is all my fault. I’ve put you in danger. I put everyone in danger. My father…he’s my—and I didn’t even notice. How did I not know?” His words became louder and more desperate as he continued to ramble on, seemingly unable to stop.
“Hang on, kitty. What’s going on? What about your father?” For starters, she didn’t even know who Chat Noir was behind the mask. It was safer that way, they had both agreed, so there was no way she could have known who his father was. “Is he in danger?”
He shook his head, before rasping out a nearly inaudible response, “my father is Monarch… I’m so sorry, Marinette. I never wanted to put you in danger.”
“I love you too much.” He wasn’t sure if she had caught the last part. It was getting harder for him to speak. He somewhat forgot he was still Chat Noir.
Her stomach dropped. Whoever Chat Noir was, his father was Monarch. Their enemy. The one who had tried to steal their miraculous since they awakened. Before she could finish her train of thought, she was met with a flash of light as her friend had turned back to his civilian form. He must have used his power before. And she was too late to look away. Where Chat Noir once stood resting in her arms, Adrien Agreste took his place.
Adrien.
Her Adrien.
All to quickly, she had figured out why he looked so awful when he came to visit. He had cataclysmed himself. Chat Noir—no—Adrien had hurt himself. The revelation hit her like a bus.
Without thinking, she held him closer and transformed. She didn’t know what else could be done. She could use her lucky charm to reverse whatever damage he had done to himself, though… or at least, she hoped she could. Transforming seemed to be the wrong course of action (at least transforming so abruptly), as Adrien began to panic more. “I’m sorry, m’lady. I jeopardized the mission. We know each other’s identities. I put you in even more danger.”
Gently shushing him, she called upon her lucky charm, not even bothering to look at what object she had manifested. It didn’t matter. As long as she could summon her miraculous ladybugs and heal him, she didn’t care. Pressing a gentle kiss to his temple, she threw her lucky charm into the air, allowing it to work its magic, which thankfully, it did. Adrien’s breathing evened out, the dark rash had disappeared from his skin without a trace, and his expression of agony melted into a less-pained, yet still worried one.
Ladybug breathed out a heavy sigh of relief, feeling the burdensome weight of her worries for Adrien’s life roll smoothly off her shoulders. He would be alright. He would live. That was enough for her.

Listen I get not being completely satisfied with the ending of this arc but please remember that Gabriel rewrote the world, Marinette/Ladybug is the only one who knows what has really happened up til that moment (why is it there that every time there's something catastrophic and traumatising she's the only one who remembers it??) but we have no idea what he specifically wished for.
Again, he rewrote the world and the way in which he asked Gimmi to do it was very clever of the writers because it opens up to possibilities both for us to create theories and for themselves so they can invent new things, completely different from we know thanks to our canon (the five seasons)
For all we know he could have asked to be the one who ever used the peacock miraculous so that it would have make no sense for Emilie (she canonically got pregnant so as someone said she had probably created like a fertilised egg so that she could live through pregnancy too- so maybe here it was Gabriel who created it) or Nathalie to die (she was alive in the end), he was going to anyway (Monarch and Papillon still existed, he did not changed that so Chat Noir probably cataclismed him here too) and he did. He could have wished that in this new version of the world that got created he was less of a shitty dad, since Adrien completely obliterated the fact that he was a piece of shit up till the end and wonders how he could ever become like his father, that now thinks of as a hero, like the rest of Paris does. And it would make sense since Gabriel already wished to Marinette that Adrien remembered him only as a nice fella and not as who he really was.
He manipulated everything and everyone up till the end, and again we don't know to what extent since he never explicitly said what he wanted. Read my heart. Read my soul. He gave up his life (that was already decaying so it wasn't that great of a loss to him) but we don't even know if he bargained something else and how much else to this huge wish of recreating reality.
This may also explain why in the end everything was so soft and ethereal and many people claimed it was too idealistic and sort of dreamy: it was. Read my heart. He never said and explained carefully what he wanted, he just had this wish, this dream of a better eality in which he was the villain but no one ever found out because he was also the hero. Everything would have been fine, everything would have been perfect, just like a dream. Because it is.
Also we even saw that there was anyway a loophole in his wish because (and this is, again, very clever and meaningful) he always thought he could control everything as he wished and this was always the greatest flaw of all his plans and it happened again here. He didn't know about Lila. But she did know about him. She knows about him. He saved Marinette's memory because he wanted her to take care of Adrien and to have an accomplice in his plan for the new reality given by the wish (and Ladybug told to the world that Gabriel helped her in defeating him). We don't even know if in this universe Nathalie herself knows since she maybe didn't even use the miraculous. But he wasn't aware that Lila had realised he was Monarch, she had proofs, photos, videos, the code to enter in his mansion. He was completely clueless so he didn't bother wishing for her memory to change since he didn't know the risk there was in letting her keep it. He thought she was a pawn in his game while it was actually the opposite.
Again, there are many possibilities now, everything is possible and nothing is sure and I can't wait to see what they will put off with the new arc and the new season.
The only sure thing is Adrienette let's gooooooo bye Gabe we won't miss you

Hehe, I know you all have been waiting for this this~ ANOTHER MIRACULOUS REWIEW, So without stalling let's do this, today I'll be reviewing the Seventh episode of miraculous season 5 Passion
We start of the episode as Marinnete tells alya that she now is in love with a furry, Marinette, I really don’t care about you or your mental state, but seek help pls
For some reason Alya don’t believe that Marinette is in love with cat boy, she points out that Marinette was in love with Adrien just yesterday, ok fair point.
But Marinette points out that being in love with sunshine boy made her lost 15 miraculous, other fair point, but why is Marinette love life the biggest topic now? Shouldn’t it be like idk, GETTING THE MAGICAL JEWELS BACK? WAS IT TO GIVE THE LOVESQUARE SOMETHING TO DO? NO BECAUSE MARINETTE CHANGES HER MIND JUST TWO EPISODES LATER, SO THIS WHOLE DARE I SAY “ARC” IS COMPLETALY POITLESS, no really, what Marinette being in love with Chat Noir influence on the story? It is just a bad excuse for Marinette to be sad in “transmission” NOTHING ELSE, don’t you think it would be a better reason if, idk MARINETTE WAS SAD ABOUT ANYTHING ELSE? Let’s summarize really quick what has happened to her just this season, lost all 15 miraculous, a couple of people lost trust on her (like andre mr damoshit etc,) practically killed monarch (which is a problem cause if he dies they will never find out who he is and the miraculous will be lost forever) and Felix, A black belt in martial arts, a manipulative, power hungry, adult hater, who Marinette has no idea what he can do, and who has the most powerful Miraculous of all time. I THINK THERE’S A BUNCH BETTER REASONS TO MAKE MARINETTE SAD, BUT NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO LETS GO WITH SHE GOT REJECTED BY HER CRUSH, I’m gonna need therapy after watch this aren’t I?
Marinette: loving Chat Noir IS a good idea, Chat Noir is cute, very handsome, super competent, doesn’t even annoy me anymore, and turns out he is really cool, and on top of that he’s in love with me so it’s perfect!
Mari about the “super competent” thing… I got some bad news for you.
Also, if Marinette fell in love with clChat because of that, WHY DIDN’T SHE DID THIS BEFOREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE. Do you guys realize how out of nowhere this is??
The scene cuts to Adrien and… wait are those PAJAMAS?
Tumblr media
WHO ARE THOSE PEOPLE AND WHAT HAVE THEY DONE TO THE ANIMATORS??? YOU CAN’T TRICK ME, THE REAL ANIMATORES NEVER WOULD PUT MONEY ON A LITTLE DETAIL THAT BRINGS MORE IMMERSION INTO THE STORY
Then there’s 30 seconds long scene of Adrien simping over marinette, and Plagg asks why isn’t he simping over Ladybug, Adrien then tells Plagg that if Ladybub don’t want to be with him than he is gonna flirt with someone else, nice try writers, but after season 4 you just CAN’T make me like this Character again. Also, one episode after we find out that Ladybug is actually blind Adrien don’t want her anymore? That's racist
Adrien then goes to the kitchen where Gabriel was making pancakes, Nathalie freaks out for some reason and they start arguing but it least like 5 seconds. Nathalie then sits down to eat with Adrien, but he is late to school so he goes get his backpack.
But then A DISABLED PERSON ATACKS GABRIEL AND IS ABLE TO IMMOBILIZE HIM.
Tumblr media
WOW! WHAT A SCARY VILLAIN!
Nathalie talks a little how Gabriel lost himself, that he was doing it for love but now he is just crazy bla bla bla
But Gabriel tells Nathalie that they two are going to die if he doesn’t do anything, which is a good motivation for a villain they both are gonna die, and Adrien will be alone. That’s actually pretty good, a point for you writers.
Adrien: did you see the ring Nathalie is wearing? I’m glad she and my dad are getting along so well,
Adrien: a ring! How about I give a ring to marinette?
Plagg: ugh don’t tell me you’re gonna propose to her
Adrien: that would be over reacting.
Adrien, did you even hear yourself? YOU MEET A GIRL AND FELL IN LOVE WITH HER IN THE SAME DAY (origins part one and two) IF THIS ISN’T OVER REACTING, THEN I AM NOT A PV SIMP.
The scene then cuts to Nathalie whining about Gabriel, and then she opens a safe and takes a cell phone out of it? like I understand that the videos were supposed to be a secret but OMG WOMAN, PUT THEM IN A PENDRIVE, CELLPHONES ARE EXPENCIVE.
Video of Emelie: I’m counting on you Nathalie, I know it won’t be easy to convince him to stop chasing after the miraculous, but you have to, for Adrien
Nathalie: I’m sorry, I failed you...
No, you didn’t, BECAUSE YOU DIDN’T EVEN TRIED, SINCE SEASON 2 ALL NATHALIE DID WAS ENCORAGE GABRIEL TO KEEP THIS UP, THIS WAS THE FIRST EPISODE THAT SHE SAIS FOR HIM TO STOP, SO DON’T COME AROUND WITH THIS BULLSHIT TO ME.
Man, it was it was so much better when her reason to do this was because she was in love with Gabriel. It wasn’t good but AT LEAST IT WAS BETTER THAN SHE DOING THIS BECAUSE SHE’S AN HIPOCRITE
Adrien then shows up, see that Nathalie was clearly crying, asks if everything’s ok, she says yes, and he completely accepts it and asks advice for his love life, what a good stepson!
Adrien asks if he should write a poem to Marinette but Nathalie just gives some exposition about her backstory and kick him out of her room
Apparently, Nathalie Gabriel and Emelie hunted artifacts around the world which sucks? Like a lot? Like It was foreshadowed before that Gabriel worked with this stuff (Shanghai special) but like, they three never showed any fight skills, AND gabriel or Nathalie don’t have any magical artifact outside of the miraculous, so w h a t ?
The scene then cuts to Gabriel talking to his dead wife for the million time and NATHALIE SHOWS UP TO HELP HIM? W H A T???????? WHY?
Nathalie then says to Gabriel akumatize her just so the scene cuts to Adrien day on school, because that’s much more interesting
Adrien then runs into marinette, and he tell Mari that Nathalie is dying, and she tells him “Oh don’t worry bout that” and he gets happi and simps for the billion time, ok that’s not exactly what happen but is almost sooooooo
Plagg then tells sugar cube that everything is bad and that if they fall in love they might reveal themselves to each other, like he has a point, Adrien would be stupid enough to do this, and after he did it would take just a bit to marinette do the same, and then the series would end, oh no! what a tragedy!
But Tikki says “no u” and starts saying how of a loser marinette is that she can’t confess to a boy, and that this would never happen.
WASEN’T THIS SUPOSSED TO BE THE OPOSITE??? TIKKI ALL WORIED AND PLAGG JUST CHILLED? PLAGGH ALWAYS SHOWED THAT HE WAS JUST A CHILLED GUY THAT CARED BUT DIDN’T SHOWED OFTEN, HE SHOULD BE CALMING TIKKI DOWN, AND WE WERE SHOWED A MILLION TIMES THAT TIKKI FREAKS ABOUT ANYTHING, JUST LOOK AT PRIME QUEEN, THERE TIKKI FREAKS OUT BOUT MARINETTE ACIDENTLY REVEALING SHE IS LADYBUG, AND DO I NEED TO COMMENT ON CHAT BLANC? TIKKI SAW THAT THEN ADRIEN/CHAT FALLS IN LOVE WITH MARINETTE IT MIGHT LEAD TO THE END OF THE WORLD, DID THEY HEADCANON THAT KWAMIS CAN SEE WHILE TRANSFORMED AGAIN OR SOMETHING??????????
With Nathalie, she asks monarch to give her the power to never miss a shot, also the goat, and somehow she uses the genesis and get the powers of 5 more miraculous, WHICHOUT MONARCH TRANSFERING THEM, W H A T ?
About the desing.
Tumblr media
Pretty good! Thought I have some, problems with it, first of all, shorts? Really? Wouldn’t it be a Brazilian time better if they put pants instead??? Also, why the purple skin? Is she still in love with Gabriel or she just like purple? Purple isn’t good for camouflaging; I’m just saying that someone that is a “hunter” should use a less attention caller color pallet. Anyways, I’ll give her a 7.5 Mrs. afton
Safari then creates an illusion of timetagger to distract the heroes, huh clever plan, the class gets an akuma alert.
Tumblr media
WHO IS FILMING THIS? WHY IS THE PERSON SO CLOSE TO THE AKUMA? I can’t believe the writers really forgot that he wasn’t real and that there was no way an illusion could film a video.
Marinette: finally! I get to see chat noir again!
youtube
Safari then uses her power and uses the venon to track down the two idiotic heroes
Ladybug then in a SERIOUS FIGHT, while fighting an EXTRA HARD AKUMA that they WOULDN’T BE ABLE TO DEFEAT WITHOUT BUNNIX LADYBUG CASUALLY ASKS CHAT NOIR ON A DATE.
Safari then paralyzes ladybug, thank you safari thank you so much, thank you for SHUTING THIS SIMP UP.
Safari tries to paralyze chat but he CATACLYSM A VENON BULLET? WHAT? LIKE I GET THAT THE CHAT MIRACULOUS IS MORE POWERFUL THAN THE BEE BUT, WASEN’T CATACLYSM SUPOSSED TO DESTROY PHYSICAL THINGS ONLY? THAT MAKES THE CATACLYSM OVERPOWERED! WHAT ELSE CAN IT DO?? DESTROY LIQUIDS? DESTROY SOUND? DESTROY AIR? WRITERS, WHAT THE HELL? Just because of that, for the rest of the reveal you shall be called OP-noir
Op-noir then runs off with ladybub on his arms in a pretty neat chase sequence, WHICH IS RUIN BY A BUTT JOKE. Writers, remember that point I gave you? Well, I’m taking that back.
Op-noir realizes that safari was Nathalie and run off to the sewers. There he tries to escape the bullets and realizes that he is about to transform, he then admits that he is just a foolish kitty without ladybug, and then surrounded, and with what he thinks would be his last words before the end of the world, he apologizes to ladybug for not being a good hero, neither a good partner, and says that he failed.
Man like it’s true but- now you’re making me feel bad for salting you, GO GET SOME THERAPY KID.
But really I love this scene, the way chat tries to figure out what to do and still is funny, he talking to ladybug statue about how he’s nothing without her, he acting like a human being after a really long time, and I absolutely loved op-noir “last line” look I always said that I would never change my mind about Adrien being an asshole after the events of season 4 but- this scene alone, made me change my mind, Adrien, I shall give you one more change to prove you are a good character, pls don’t waste that, also pls don’t simp I can’t take it anymor-
Adrien than detransform because apparently “the bullets can only chase after chat noir, and now that he detransformed the bullets stopped” ok kinda makes sense but, what about plagg? Shouldn’t the bullets like, chase plagg or something? Wha?
Adrien makes a plan, if he couldn’t use his miraculous, he could borrow ladybug’s for a while. Like I like when Adrien thinks for himself instead of just being a ladybug puppet but- this plan is pretty dumb, safari could just make the bullets chase mister bug and lady shit instead, WHAT AM I TALKING ABOUT OF COURSE THAT NEVER HAPPENS BECAUSE THE PLOT ARMOR IN THIS SHOW JUST ISN’T BIGGER THAN ASTRUC’S EGO SO SAFARI NEVER THINKS OF THIS. Fuck off
Plagg then takes off marinette earrings and for some reason she unfreezes? Whaa? In “evolution” the same thing happened with bunnix and she wasn’t unfrozen, well I can give this a pass, this show was already headcannon by the writer’s multiple time, WHAT I SHALL NOT GIVE A PASS IS THOSE TWO TALKING WITHOUT RECOGNIZING EACH OTHER’S VOICE-
Tumblr media
WHAT? THEY ARE LITTERALY ONE WALL APART, THEY SEE EACH OTHER EVERY DAY, MARINETTE KNEW HIS SCHEDULE FOR THE NEXT 3 YEARS, ADRIEN CONSIDERES MARINETTE HIS BEST FRIEND EVER, AND THEY JUST, why? Just why? Why do I do this to myself?
Adrien then remembers about Nathalie and asks ladybug why they couldn’t make a wish to create a better world, but ladybug explains that if they do, there will be a price to pay.
AND THAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATS WHAT I’M TALKING ABOUT, ADRIEN BEEING HUMAN, HE CARING ABOUT SOMETHING THAT ISN’T HIS OWN ASS. Ok a couple more of those and I might consider you a good characters Adrian. Adrien? Idk
Also master fu is an idiot, WHY THE HECK DIDN’T YOU EXPLAINED THIS TO HIM? THIS SHOULD BE BASIC, DID YOU REALLY JUST TOLD HIM “Hey man that terrorist over there want u magical balls because they grand wishes Aladdin style” AND THAT’S ALL? W H A T ?
They transform and go fight safari and ladynoir simps… again… I can’t take it anymore… I’M GETTING VACATIONS.
They broke safari’s crossbow but there was nothing inside, so there’s another chase sequence. Where they break every object with her but find nothing.
Mister bug then uses his lucky charm getting a bottle of perfume which leads them to the Agreste Mansion.
Mister bug then purify the akuma and fixes the city. They then part waste and the scene cuts to marinette talking to alya, and she starts simping over mister bug…. That’s it all confirmed my vacation are next month, I’m gonna go to liberty.
The scene then cuts (THANK GOD) to Nathalie Adrien talking, Adrien apologizes because he thought was his fault Nathalie got akumatized, Nathalie says it wasn’t his fault, Adrien then hugs Nathalie, and says that he will always be there for her, Nathalie then hugs him and says that she will also always be there for him.

Ok I gotta admit this show is shit but that was beautiful, see writers? Make us like tha characters and we will feel emotions, the clime was ruined in the end but I do not care, this episode had a lot of emotions, and DRAMA, the two things I love the most, along with LOREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE, this was episode made me not hate Adrien, Nathalie as a villain was cool, she was an idiot but still cool. This by far is the best episode so far, AND FOR MIRACULOUS EXTANDARS? IT WAS AMAZING! I’ll give this episode a 6.8/10 not perfect (there was a LOT of simping) but pretty good.
Thank you for seeing, see you in the next post,

Finally finished miraculous ladybug season 5. And uh… I have. Some thoughts. About that finale.
It makes me angry that Gabriel is being considered by everyone to be a hero. I can deal with that, though. What really pisses me off is that Adrien now thinks of him as a hero. As though all that shit he’s done to him doesn’t matter anymore. As though his father’s abuse is forgiven because he “helped stop monarch.”
I think Adrien deserved to know. It would have broken his heart a little, but it wouldn’t shock him THAT much given how horrible he is. And it would make so much of what happened make more sense to him.
It’s kinda gross that this is presented as a happy (albeit slightly sad, seeing as Gabriel did die) ending. I take issue with it. I’m slightly miffed about other stuff (Adrien and marinette still don’t know they’re chat noir and ladybug, Luka came back for only about two seconds but I like the funky scene boy. Give me more of the funky scene boy. etc), but those things are just dumb little personal grievances that don’t actually matter and that I’m basically already over. But the fact that Adrien doesn’t get to know this crucial information about his father and suddenly thinks he’s some kind of hero is genuinely rather upsetting.
That being said… *huffs* …I fucking loved this season. I love that I was right in my theory about Adrien and Felix being sentimonsters and that Kagami is one too (or at least that’s… implied? They only directly stated that Felix is one. Not 100% on this), I love Kagami and Felix together (even if I can’t get over how funny it is that she’s now with someone who looks identical to her ex), I think it was really cool that we got to dive into why Marinette is Like That and see what actually happens when the cat and ladybug miraculouses are combined (just using both unified does not equal making the wish!), we got the most funny Gabriel bits ever (“you walked right into my house!” “Yes I did, Gabriel!” “What?! How did you know it’s me?!” As well as that… bizarre dance break), I actually loved watching careful, meticulous Felix showing us that he is, in fact, a loser 14 year old, I’m so happy that Nathalie is okay, I thought it was rad as fuck when she hobbled down to the basement to threaten Gabriel with a crossbow…….. etc etc I could go on all day.
I’m just. That ending. It left kind of a bad taste in my mouth. He deserves to know. It’s crazy that he’s thinking fondly and highly of his father. I’ve hardly interacted with the fandom on tumblr, much less posted about it, but I needed to get this rant out there and none of my friends are into ml.
Because uh. I dunno, it kinda feels like… Gabriel got the last laugh. He died, but he gets to be remembered as a hero and forgotten as an abusive parent.
I know a kids’ show isn’t gonna delve that deep into dark shit like the lasting effects of abuse, and I would never expect that, but at least let Adrien have more mixed feelings about his father (ie let him say something along the lines of “Even though he loved me, my father really hurt me… I don’t think I can fully forgive him for that yet. But he did something great in the end: he helped ladybug to defeat Monarch, even at the expense of his own life. I can admire him for that much. I guess I’m… proud of him.”) if you’re not gonna let him learn the truth, y’know?
I also thought it was… kind of sad that chat noir wasn’t even there for the big final battle? They didn’t get to do it together. But anyways, those are my big grievances. Otherwise, season 5 was pretty awesome.

This is... A very odd pull for Lila of all people, given the genre, but these lyrics to really kind of fit?
Songs Into the Dark by Divide Music, analysis incoming.
"Come into the scene, but i don't advertise
I see a better world, no need to compromise
I'm gonna take the light away, the other side"
Lilas always been a pretty flashy liar, for the entire show she has been but we can clearly see that's not really the case anymore.
When she shows up nowadays, she's not showing off all she can do. She's been scheming, she's been keeping her cards close to her chest and not revealing the true extent of her powers and she's already taken away the other sides light, the heart and soul of their team that's kept everyone going for this long.
Chat Noir AKA Adrien Agreste and she's never going to let him go, especially now that she has his Amok.
"You see it's a desease that i will sterilise
And they can try and take away all my supply
But every single move i make, they're one behind
Their begging as they cross their heart and hope to die
Give 'em one shot, but not between the eyes"
Now slightly stretching here but Lilas real goal seems to be absolutely stomping out hope on all sides. Gabriel? She killed the last chance he had at love again, both in killing Nathalie and hy stealing the wish right out from under him. She's not gonna bring back, Emilie, we all know that. I wonder if Gabriel does.
She's trying to stomp out the hope and complete confidence Adrien has in Ladybug, allowing her own team to be compromised (even if she probably knows well that Felix is turn coating) by allowing her to sink deeper and deeper into the depth of despair she's found herself in. How low can she stoop? And how much more like Lila and Gabriel can she become? And in such, she's also stomping out others hopes in Ladybug. I'd tack Ladybug on here, but we haven't quite seen how's she's gonna kick Ladybug while she's down just yet.
And of course, she's helping to actively stomp on everyone's friends and families and bonds. Zoe, Chloe and Luka all being targeted specifically, Adrien watching his best friend get targeted and turned against them and even forcing them to help them in their Akumatized forms. More specifically Chloe and Adrien there. And of course, every single step Lila makes the heroes are just one behind.
Every move she makes, every chance she takes, every new plan the heroes are always lagging behind in the truth. Every revelation the make is overshadowed by the fact there's at least several layers of half-truths and unknown circumstances orchestrated by Lila.
"I hereby declare, the end is upon us
Celebrate the fallen
They will never repair
Or regain the promise
They made to the fools
Who blindly followed them into the dark"
Speaking of destroying people's hope in Ladybug, I do wonder just how Paris would feel if they were able to see all the horrible things Ladybugs done in her pursuit of justice. Luka and Chloe already don't fully trust her to do what's right, having to do god knows how many loops to stop her from going completely psychotic and Chloe now knowing she's killed her in loops. I wonder how many times Lila has driven her to insanity with her illusions in those loops.
And once she's ready to reveal to the world, to the heroes her plans I'm sure it WILL be the end, what hope could they possibly have against her anyways?
"I will hold you in my hands
Break you down and build you up again
You got no patience, so why pretend?
You think you know me
I'm your means to an end"
I feel this works best about her talking about Adrien and Gabriel. She holds both of them firmly in the palm of her hand, she can manipulate them and break them down to rebuild them however she wants.
She has Adriens Amok, she can do whatever the hell she wants to him if it comes down to it, she doesn't think she will have to cause she's just oh so great and all Adrien needs is a little push to see how great she is.
Gabriel however, her breaking and building of him comes at a much more direct example. She took away every single lifeline this man has. Nathalie's gone and dead, the only person who could MAYBE help him see reason. His own son is in her clutches and she can make him do whatever she wants with that alone. After all she could always just kill him, right? Make him HATE Gabriel, let him in on every single little secret possible.
Gabriel thought he knew Lila, that he had a read on this girl he let into his home, let in on secrets, she was always meant to just be another pawn. A means to an end.
How wrong he was.
"Keep 'em at distance
Make 'em think that we need their assistance
Think they're in control, but they don't listen
Stuck in adolescence, mind's a prison
Lacking wisdom"
This feels pointed at Felix, actually. She keeps everyone at a distance but he's really the one to worry about. So the best way to keep him where she wants him? Make him think he's integral. Make him think she doesn't know exactly what his game is and of course, make him think he actually has a chance to save Adrien. Cause if he's still stuck on thinking Gabriel has the Amok, she's perfectly safe.
Felix is an amazing schemer, yes. But compared to what Lila can and has done? He's kind of childs play. He can hide secrets, mince words with the best of them, but he simply cannot keep up with what Lila is capable of.
After all, we've already seen Amelie break down and cry over Felix' situation, and she's all but confirmed to be the one akumatizing people. And of course, her invisible spying on groups, who knows how many identities she has and how many secrets she's aware of.
"From start to finish, promise i will end this
Reconstruct their kind, leave 'em defenceless
Break the spirit, mind and all their senses
With costs so high, they justify expenses!"
Thie is probably the line that made me pick this song out really, it's such the perfect line for ODNLB!Lila, no?
She's pretty much been here from the start, she's seen all there is to see when it comes to Ladybug and Chat Noir. She worked with them briefly as it was, and she's been working for Hawkmoth for a while. And she has no intentions on being shut out or denied, she will see this through to the end no matter what (parallels to Ladybug and Gabriel? Mayhaps.)
She's already begun targeting the people who's been secretly helping them. Luka and Chloe are obviously on the chopping block, it's incredibly obvious Luka is Aspik, he knows too much NOT to be and Chloe's already being targeted. It's a clear plant. It's such OBVIOUS bait and it's work. But beyond that? She's targeting their friends and families with Akumas, she's reconstructing their purpose, taking over their minds and making them kill people, even those they love (if I recall, Nino DID shoot Alya)
"Break the spirit, mind and all their senses" who ELSE could this be about? Lila has a death grip on all of them, she can infiltrate their minds, she can trick every last on of their senses to believe whatever the hell she wants them to believe. None of them know the true extent to Lilas grip on them, all of them are more focused on getting Adrien his freedom from GABRIEL. They KNOW Lila is a threat, she's a wild card but to them she's just that. A threat. She's not THE big bad. But she is.
"Where'd you run to? tryna hide?
You know the outcome, i will let you decide
I gave you purpose to purify
Those dirty stains we'll cast them all aside"
Now this can go one of two ways.
Imagine, if you will. A cornered Ladybug, brought to her knees and nearly killed once again ala the reveal of who Cat Walker really is.
Failing once more to protect her Chaton she's given a choice. Join her, or die. Join her and help them get the wish and they can cast this entire world away, the filthy stain that it is and join her in a new, perfect world.
Or even better... Take all of that, and have Cat Walker be there. And of course he'd lunge at them, try to help his Lady but when Lila pulls that blade from the cane and presses it to Ladybugs throat she gives him a clear option.
Cut the bullshit, or she will. Just a thought! Feels very Lila, doesn't it?
"No one can protect them
City will be crying out in mayhem
I will be the one to choose and condemn
Take away their power, they will cower
Sing my anthem!" This is really what Lila wants, after all my.
No one can protect the group from her, not really, not yet and she will beat and break them and steal away their Miraculous. She will sow the seeds of chaos throughout Paris and bathe in their screams. Picking and choosing who lives and dies. Who's guilty and who's innocent.
And then she will bathe in their cheers, bathe in the attention as they sing her anthems and praise her accomplishments.
"In the end, they will plea
They will beg on their knees
Screaming forgiveness
The world will witness them all cry out!"
And in the end they too will come crawling to her. Begging her for forgiveness, begging to not be forgotten in their new world, begging her for a scrap of mercy.
And she will refuse.
And the world will remember their despaired cries for one moment and one moment alone as she erases it all for her new, perfect world.
Or maybe I'm crazy and off base and this is once again insane rambles, either way enjoy!
holy crap mythical lol. i intended to make lila scary to the readers but through your analysis she scared even me.
you're absolutely right; having adrien's amok is having his life in her hands, and since everybody in the story loves and cares about adrien, lila holds untold power over all of them. and of COURSE gabriel knows she's not going to bring back emilie. if you look closely in the story *cough chapter 25 cough* you'll see what her actual wish is >:D and you'll maybe be able to guess why she's playing the long game.
honestly, i...i think you've said it all. this analysis is really good and really detailed and fits with lila's i'm-the-hero-of-my-own-story delusion. she has the upper hand on all of them and puts herself steps ahead of everyone by making them think they're evenly matched. she has ways of discovering secrets and ways of bringing out the worst in a person. she does want a new, perfect world. she enjoys seeing people suffer. she's definitely the worst villain i've ever written and like i said, you made even me a little scared of her.

Watched “Passion” and I enjoyed it so much!! First off, I should say while I love the idea of a kwami swap, I was nervous for this episode. Reflekdoll showed just how atrocious a kwami swap could be done. That episode is one of my least favorite episodes in the series for a lot of reasons. So, I’m pleasantly surprised that this time around it was done well. This is just me rambling about it and I wrote this twice and had Tumblr crash before I could post so yeah how coherent is take 3? …but I wanted to get my thoughts out there. For the record, I’m someone who’s here for Adrien’s character (outside of the romance aspect) and how he grows over time. I’m also interested in the backstory and the lore of the Agrestes and the Miraculous. I love some of the side characters and can enjoy other things too of course. But as far as my main reasons for watching? Most episodes leave me with mere crumbs.  But “Passion” was a FEAST. It’s up there as one of my favorite episodes.  The kitchen scene was very well done. It was eerie too, seeing Gabriel act like an actual father is off putting since he rarely does so. Adrien is happy to be having breakfast with him (and not having to schedule months in advance only to be stood up as we’ve seen in the past.) However, Adrien is also afraid he’ll make one false move or say the wrong thing to make his father shut him out or get angry. Nathalie addresses this directly by calling out Gabriel on the fact that he doesn’t even know anything about his son’s breakfast preferences. I love her sass in this scene. Also, the fact that she addresses Adrien too. Adrien should be able to express what he wants and doesn’t want, but he’s too afraid to do so.
Now, it worries me a little bit because is this the show trying to make us sympathetic to Gabriel? Because I’m not. If it takes you getting Cataclysmed and fearing you may die soon to pay attention to your son… that is pathetic. Nathalie notices how sketchy his change in behavior is. If he really wanted to be a good father he would actually do it, make that his priority instead of spending his time terrorizing Paris.
Then there’s what we learned next from Emilie! EMILIE!! This is something I’ve always wondered. What would she think about all of this? Now, we know she had accepted her death. Her concern was that Adrien had a family and was taken care of. Gabriel stopped watching and got rid of these video messages. So, on top of all of the other evil crap he’s also going against his wife’s wishes. Actually, to such an extent where I’d argue when Adrien lost his mom he also lost his father. Gabriel’s distance and treating his son like a business asset for 4 seasons showed us that clearly. Let me get this straight. Emilie did not want Gabriel to do this, now as a result of him doing so both he and Nathalie are dying. In their pursuit of bringing Emilie back they have doomed Adrien to be without a family. Which is… wow. Adrien of course is pretty upset about Nathalie’s illness. He’s seen these symptoms before. It’s not the first time the show had demonstrated him realizing they are the same things he saw his mother suffer with. He is well aware of how serious this situation is. Moving on… I really love seeing interactions between Adrien and Plagg and always miss them when they aren’t there. Seeing so many little moments this episode made me happy. I love their dynamic. Although, I will say the little scene with Tikki and Plagg is strange. I know they say their holders can’t be together because they might find out their identities and I know this is set up for later episodes but, this part of the show is just hard to buy at this point. It feels like an instance of this thing is a problem because the show says it is. I’m just kind of like… yeah sure if you say so I guess? Then there’s the akuma battle which this episode just made me so happy. My gosh. Ladybug getting hit and Chat Noir carrying her through Paris was such a fun scene! The action in it was great. Loved the slide across the roof and under the bus! Chat Noir talking about the beams being “attracted” to him was funny. Gosh I love him! In the sewer, I really appreciated the moment where Adrien contemplated using the wish. Not to get too personal, but my dad has lost a lot of his mobility and is in a lot of pain. I’ve seen him go from a guy that could do whatever he want to someone who has to use a walker. He’s a strong person, he wouldn’t want you to read this and feel sorry for him, but if I had something in my hands that could take that pain away from him and make his life better OF COURSE I’d think about making that wish. I also appreciate that this was a good and natural way for Marinette to explain again that the wish has a cost. After the kwami swap it was pure JUSTICE for the mess that happened in Reflekdoll my gosh. We went from an episode of Ladynoire treating Mister Bug just… er… not great, to THIS. It was such an upgrade. Kudos to Marinette. (I know her behavior was different for other reasons too, lol poor girl has is down bad for him.) But it was just very nice. I loved seeing him figure things out and the passion (lol) with which he fought and thought out his plan. He cares deeply for Nathalie and he was rightfully angry at Monarch. His lucky charm going along with what he was already thinking to protect his identity was a nice touch.
I also appreciated that once in the room he got to go off about Monarch being a monster IN FRONT of Monarch. Adrien going off about people, especially when they can hear him, definitely one of my favorite things in the show. He should do it more. This episode also has me thinking about just how much is on Adrien. I mean I always do, because he’s what’s got me invested. But losing his Mom, his father being distant and awful, his mother figure being sick and Adrien realizing it is likely fatal. In S4 he felt worthless as a hero too on top of everything else. Once things fell apart, he had to be strong and forgiving immediately. He had to be Ladybug’s rock when it all went south. Now, he’s by her side as one of the 2 heroes (both of which are teenagers) who stand between Paris and a terrorist. Though the show hasn’t really addressed how he feels about it, I also would like to mention that his likeness is on a ring where everyone who owns one can give him commands and customize his look. That has to be at least a little off putting. I mean is likeness is still being used in ads. He’s not modeling but to many people it seems like he is. HIs image isn’t his? It wasn’t really before but now it’s just literally not even him out there. I know Adrien finds it in himself to try to look forward and see positive things in his life. But he’s been through and is currently going through a lot. One thing I hope the show does it not gloss over things. Let him be mad, sad, upset, let him GO OFF, he deserves to. Speaking of glossing over things, there’s a few conversations I’d like to see Adrien/Chat have with Ladybug especially, but I’m not holding my breath. The scene where he and Marinette were talking was a very nice moment. He was going into his usual thing. “Don’t worry, I’m fine.” Then he was honest “No, actually I’m not okay.” This is good. I love to see him admit it. That’s growth. Nathalie addressed the same thing earlier at breakfast. Though there is more fear there because Gabriel is a jerk, it’s a similar concept. Adrien will set aside his feelings to make someone else more comfortable, it’s nice to see him being encouraged to be honest and finding ways to not always brush aside his own pain and preferences. I know I’ve rambled a lot but I really appreciated this episode. I can be salty about this show, especially lately, but when it actually DOES focus on the things I’m begging it to focus on I am happy to give credit where it is due. The part that kills me is that we could have a lot more episodes like this. Ah well.... anyway, after all the crumbs I enjoyed the meal.

So Felix has been on my mind a lot bc he's a very interesting character whose motivations aren't quite clear. So I was thinking back to the episode Felix (where he was first introduced), and obviously we know he pretended to be Adrien in order to ruin his friendships with the rest of the cast for some reason. We know in the past though that Adrien and Felix used to be close, as they had once pulled a prank on their parents by switching places for a week. So fast foward to when Felix gets caught. Chat Noir, aka the real Adrien, decides to call him out (as he should), and this line really stood out to me:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Though Adrien may not understand all of Felix, including his true motivation behind everything he does, he still knows him better than most of the cast. Now let's see Felix's reaction to that comment.
Tumblr media
That looks like someone who just got hit in a sore spot if I've ever seen one. At this point, he is already caught red handed and thus has no reason to act like he's still Adrien. That was a real moment for him, and I'm starting to think the writers put that specific line in on purpose.
The likelihood of him being a senti and knowing that is very high (not gonna say it's official till it's confirmed on the show). I'm thinking that because he knows he's not like a regular human both in personality and in creation, does he want the Peacock Miraculous not only to ensure he has full control over himself, but also to make friends that really understand him? Is him being so rude and cold to most others because of the fact he is secretly jealous of them for being regular humans? Finding out you aren't fully human like everyone else around you is bound to do some psychological damage, and could explain how Felix did a sudden change from someone who was close with Adrien to like a total stranger.
Strike Back also confirms that Felix has had knowledge about the Miraculous jewelry existing since before Hawkmoth became a threat to Paris, as he is seen looking at multiple pictures from what looks like the same book as the one Gabriel has.
Edit: I totally forgot he stole Nathalie's tablet in Risk, but my point still stands that he most likely knew about the Miraculous history pre Hawkmoth because of the fact he knew that the book info would be on Nathalie's tablet. We've never actually seen him look through the book even though he saw it in Risk, therefore logically he would've had to have seen the book beforehand. Mind you, this book had been missing for a long time according to Tikki, so this type of knowledge isn't common knowledge. A lot of the Miraculous knowledge isn't super common knowledge even now in their world bc Master Fu kept the Miraculous hidden and unused for about 170 years. Also Alya can't share all the info she knows on her blog bc it could hint at the fact that she's a superhero (let alone Ladybug's closest helper as of recent).
I say this because of the context between the conversation Adrien and Felix had when they were in his room in that episode and he mentions his Dad's death like it's the first time they ever talked about that. This would explain why Felix was able to deduce that Gabriel was Shadowmoth as quickly as he did.
Tumblr media
On the off chance he is not a sentimonster, then I think it would be because he had a similar childhood to Adrien. Though I do think that both him being a senti and having his Dad die could both be the reasons why Felix acts the way he is. Anywho, we know Felix did have a Dad who died around the same time as Emilie, and Amelie does mention the following at the end of the episode:
Tumblr media
Based on this line, it sounds like those two had a similar relationship like Gabriel and Adrien do, as Gabriel is often controlling over what Adrien does. I mean, when Adrien talks about Felix's Dad (who is also his Uncle, mind you) he doesn't even mention his name, let alone personality. This is odd considering Adrien is the more sentimental type. Now if he was cold and distant like say Gabriel, that would explain why Adrien hardly mention anything about Felix's Dad as a person.
A theory I have is that based on context clues, Felix was also most likely homeschooled aswell and thus a lonely child. Given his behavior and how implied it is that Gabriel and Felix's Dad were quite similar, it makes sense to me atleast.
While they may have not had the best relationship, Felix still has emotions at the end of the day. I mean we all saw how in Risk he was terrified over seeing Emilie's corpse. He was alone then, so he had no reason to fake that reaction. Also, I don't think it was necessarily because she looks just like his Mom (although that is definately part of the reason). In the episode Gabriel Agreste, he is shown smiling at a painting that is clearly Emilie (as there would be no reason for the Agrestes to have a huge painting of his Aunt). Felix might be a jerk, but it is clear he liked his Aunt and feels bad about her death.
As someone who has had a parent die at a young age, it changes you a lot. Sometimes, it can make you a better person in the long run. Other times, it can turn you into a much colder and darker person. Psychologically speaking, Felix is a complex individual who appears to have gone through quite a bit. We don't know too many truths about him, but I wanted to analyze more of what we do know.
One thing I can say for sure though is that story wise, Adrien and Felix are perfect parallels of one another. For this, I'm gonna ignore the senti theory and just focus on the facts shown in canon. You have one boy who lost his loving Mom, and despite his colder Father, is able to remain positive even if times get rough. Another boy who lost his cold Father, found himself turning colder despite having a loving Mother by his side to support him. It's beautiful yet heartbreaking, and I really hope we truly get to understand Felix more in Season 5. I would definately like to see how he and Duusu get along, and what he does with the Peacock Miraculous.
Once again, this was just a string theories that came into my head so it might be wrong. Ik this post was a bit all over the place, but I hope you atleast understand where I am coming from. Thanks for reading!
