actually yknow what I will Not stop talking about amprule 4th anniversary art because I know Uri (the artist who designed amprule) puts so much detail into each drawing they make of them so let's break down this banger artwork together

Let's start simple! A pink rose! Pink roses signify elegance and deeper colored ones can signify appreciation! While the characters themselves are Korean, their artist is Japanese, so I also looked up what they mean in Hanakotoba (Japanese flower language) they signify trust, happiness and confidence! Considering their dynamic, these could be the meanings they were going for!!

Up next the dog & the cat. They are possibly a Maine Coon and a Pyrenean Mountain Dog!

From what I've gathered the Pyrenees are used as a livestock guardian. Because of this they are rather protective of their family, as well as loyal and loving but also do not get along well with strangers. All of which work for a rather good descriptor of Chungsung considering how he has dedicated himself to taking care of and protecting Dongha.

Maine Coons, from what I know of them, are curious cats who'll follow you around and try to get included in whatever their owners are doing. So basically, they're giant cats that are clingy. Which, again, works well with Dongha, since he clings to the people he loves! He is afraid of being left behind by Chungsung and he has always been clinging to support he had provided for him.

Now this part might be a reach but when it comes to Uri's art I'm not leaving any idea unsaid. Compared to how the dog is sleeping peacefully in Dongha's lap, the cat is looking at somewhere else, possibly showing how Dongha is desperately trying to get his father's approval?

I would also like to add that in the extra art Uri posted, it is pretty much made clear that the animals are supposed to represent each other, thus signifying the trust they have for one another.

And at last, the color swap. It is my favorite part of the whole thing ngl. Colors mean a lot of for Amprule in my opinion, green means Dongha and red means Chungsung. In their original designs Chungsung's reds are Dongha's accessories, they're eye catching and are mostly associated with hearts. Meanwhile Dongha's greens are naturally blended into Chungsung's clothes with a gorgeous pattern inside his coat. In this illustration however they covered in each other's colors! Hell, in Dongha's case he's covered head to toe in pink!! And this is a Huge Thing especially considering how their main colors contrast each other (but when two colors are contrasting they are also complementary).

But also gold means Dongha and silver means Chungsung. In an interview with Uri, they talk about how they used the gold & silver accessories to show their power imbalance. While it's not a complete swap, bronze & pearl keeps it similar to the colors of gold & silver without losing their difference in monetary value.

It's Dongha's brooch that sums it all up perfectly, green & red and bronze & pearls together in one beautiful piece of jewelry. Put a crown on top of it and that's Amprule.

In the end, I think this is the perfect illustration to showcase how Amprule has changed and will keep changing!! And here's to hoping that sometime soon they'll wear each others colors in not so muted tones.

they are my creatures. the funniest guys ever.

i love the style meter i love the thought of programmers/engineers going hey you know what would make this killing machine better. you know what would make this peace keeping machine better. if we made it sick as hell. if we made it style on everyone. its like giving a roomba a knife. but with guns. my 2 roombas with guns. i love the thought of the guys in the lab building v2: yea shes sick with it. make her cocky as hell this wont be his downfall. it'll be fine. the guys in the lab making v1: lets make this guy get pissed the fuck off. also a little curious. we should make it learn from others, good or bad. fuck my life bro. i loved it when these guys can just. do shit. you can destroy a sandcastle you can make hank whole. you can quote movies. and then with this you can say that they arent truly robots. its like. sure theyre following their programs but like. they do whatever. as the player you gauge decisions for v1 so its like youre the semblance of humanity in there. does this make sense. the nihilism and hope that they each bring to the table is sooooo. in my head there are thoughts in my brain and my lack of brain to words skills is killing me right now. all i know is that the v machines are filled with love and hope and feelings and have to keep on pressing forward. i did not spend 5 1/2 hrs on the first gabe fight and then got him in 5 mins on the second fight im not projecting i prommy. WAIT- is this one of the alternate timelines created from the space-time sword ("Shintō Amenogozen")!? 👀

I'm an anime-only bsd enjoyer & ever since that damn sword popped up after Atsushi & Akutagawa killed him on the boat but he was able to erase/undo(?) that timeline, I've been thinking that technically means there's multiple timelines. This would be the one where Fukuchi won that conflict we just saw or something else entirely is going on given the way he's dressed (if that even is him)! 👀👀👀

Imagine being dumb enough to announce to your 50K Twitter followers that you're going to a convention to sell your art, and the art in question is just things you stole as WIPs from other artists on the internet and had an AI generator finish them for you.

Imagine being dumb enough to brag about how with AI you don't have to pay artists anymore and can do everything you ever wanted yourself. And now, with all of these, you can make 'easy money' for yourself and have nothing to worry about anymore.

Imagine the surprise you face when you reach the convention and find yourself kicked out before you can even get in, with a lawsuit on your hands because someone was so pissed off that they tracked down every single artist you stole from and amassed a major amount of proof to get you blacklisted from any conventions in the future.

I'll make a post about it later but I swear the WORST advice I see being passed around in art circles is that art is a popularity contest and the only possible way to make money off of art, especially online, is to get popular first. Like that is BLATANTLY false.

The art community CONSTANTLY has to remind artists how damaging the numbers game is, and I think a huge reason why is because of how common a misconception it is that you have to be popular to make a living. It feels like the second I leave my specifically curated tumblr art community, I am bombarded with this idea.

Black Jack Media Compilation List

So a while ago I made this post here asking if anyone had seen a link to and/or might know where to find the Black Jack ONA episodes online since I have been going through the anime portion of the franchise, and I had yet to find any place online to stream said episodes.

That said, thanks to the much appreciated help from @jesidres as well as @tiredmoth-cryptid (which I am forever grateful for btw; seriously thank you so, so much I can’t tell you how much finding out about this information has made this past week for me), I have indeed discovered that the ONA episodes are not only still online via torrent sites like nyaa.si and bakabt, but that you can also stream them on the site bilibili as well!

However, as nice as this is, through the help of @tiredmoth-cryptid I have also found a multilanguage media compilation list created by the twitter user @Rikiishiapple for just about every piece of Black Jack media that exists, which is as follows:

Said list not only provides the links to the various anime, games, manga, etc. of Black Jack that have existed over the years, but it also has links to copies of the original Japanese versions as well as the media in other languages such as Spanish, English, and Chinese (although it also has many more aside from these languages as well). That said, after going through the list, I have found the vast majority of the links to still be in working condition, but even if there are broken links listed, I still wanted to share this list because this franchise isn’t very well known where I live, and with help from others, the community might be able to find updated links to replace the broken ones (especially for the links to media in languages other than English)

As such, if you do indeed find said updated links, please consider contacting the original twitter user (again, @Rikiishiapple) so that they can update this compilation list as they wish! I'm gonna post the lastest ten because i think it's fun (and I'm kinda bored) but fair warning: only the first two of the list are thiam :')

1. even if it's a sin i've commited, even if this life is only about paying for my sins

It started without Theo noticing—surprisingly enough—and forced by casualties beyond his control. It was the lack of money at first, the lack of a safe place, a home. It was many things all at once that slowly turned into an unconscious decision. It’s an unspoken retribution, something Theo doesn’t talk—or even think—into existence but that is there, nestled at the back of his mind, weighing heavy on his chest. And it feels right, so it solidifies to become the way things are, the way they have to be.

2. i'd no idea on what ground i was founded, all of that goodness is goin' with you now

"I'm not dying for you." The words echo at the back of your mind for a long time, tasting bitter on the tip of your tongue. Everything's frozen, static.

3. Niveo

Jeongguk sits alone at the edge of his oversized bed. An inescapable silence hangs heavy in the air. Only the tight clenching of the jiangshi's fingers betrays the inner torment that riddles his mind.

4. like ebbing waves (come and break and go)

The water’s cold in the North, gelid enough for it to seep through his skin, reach his bones and curdle his blood. Still, this is where Jimin belongs, the sole place in the North where he can feel somewhat at ease.

5. blood stained lips

There’s a river streaming closeby. Jeongguk can’t hear it, but the men he’s traveling with can. One of them signs it to him, how loud it is. Deafening, he says, as if Jeongguk would understand. He doesn’t.

6. votum: found peace in your violence

He slowly lets himself sink into the bath. Scorching-hot water has a bothered flush paint over his skin. The searing warmth seeps deep to his bones—through skin and flesh—and it’s comforting to think it might wash away all the dirt in its wake.

7. put your lips on mine, make me forget my sins

Jimin’s entire body trembles, limbs weak from the bone-deep shudders that unrelentingly course through him. His brain is foggy from the painful, gnawing feeling that wrenches deep in the pit of his stomach and wrecks through his lithe frame.

8. like a secret

He smirks victoriously, hand reaching for the knife’s hilt.

9. cruel binds

Jimin looks around with wary eyes, checking for phantom threats. He allows himself a moment, then forces his body to move, finally leave the dank alleyway he’s been hiding in for some time.

10. tears

The sky’s a gloomy grey above the fortress. Thick clouds—pregnant with unshed tears—are all he can see when his eyes daringly turn to the world beyond the window.

There’s no sun to be found. There hasn’t been in a long time, and it’s now hard to recall the feeling of its warm kiss on his skin.
