Genshin Impact WIP dump!!
I've been super busy with life and commission work, but I have been working on some personal pieces in between! Since it's been a bit since I shared anything, I thought I'd give you a sneak peek to some of the stuff I'm working on!
1. An attempt at doing the aftermath of the Joururi Wokshop on how I pictured it in my head. Going to be a full poster illustration, I think.
2. Some soft Beiguang because I love my wives so very much.
3. An idea for an Ei and Makoto piece that I'm still working on finalizing.
4. An angsty Kaeya and Diluc piece, because come on, I adore them both a lot.
5. Alhaitham because this man grabbed me by the throat and won't let go. 👌
6. An attempt to figure out Scaramouche 's face in my style.
7. A super rough idea for a Kazuha print.
8. A spicy Tartaglia piece? On my Instagram? More likely than you think!
9. An almost finished Xiao print of our favourite Yaksha taking a well deserved nap.
10. A Zhongven piece I'm reworking that's nearly done! I just adore how they look here. 🥺💕
Bear in mind that my sketches are always super messy and go through a few run throughs before I'm happy with them, so I hope they'll be easy for you to understand them! I'm excited to get these finished and offer them in my etsy store!

her star
In all her years of barging into the Jade Chamber, Beidou is fairly certain she’s never heard this combination of words come from any of Ningguang’s secretaries — until now. “What do you mean, the Tianquan is not taking visitors today?” she repeats, raising an eyebrow.
Baiwen sighs. “It’s her orders, Captain. Come back another day?”
“Nah. I’m leaving for Sumeru tonight.” Beidou shrugs, brushing past the secretary and poking her head into Ningguang’s study. No Ningguang.
“Captain—”
“Come on!” The pirate strolls towards Ningguang’s bedroom, completely unfazed by the three ladies helplessly trailing her. “Five minutes.” She never leaves Liyue without telling her star.
Beidou pushes open the unlocked door before the secretaries can stop her. “Ning—” She pauses, wondering why the room is so dark. The curtains are fully drawn to boot, blocking even the faintest hint of sunlight. “What’s going on? You suddenly got an allergy to sunlight?”
“Shh!” Baishi hisses.
Beidou folds her arms, raising an eyebrow again.
“Please just come back another day,” Baixiao pleads. “Lady Ningguang is—”
“It’s alright,” a soft voice suddenly says from the darkness, “I’ll see her.”
Beidou turns back to the shadows, taking in a rather unfamiliar sight: Ningguang, with her hair down, dressed in violet silk robes. Tired wine-red eyes lock onto hers for a moment. “You can leave us,” the Tianquan murmurs. The secretaries bow and close the door, though Baishi shoots Beidou a rather vicious glare. The captain, however, only has eyes for her fading star.
“Ning?” she asks softly, approaching the slender woman as she sways unstably on her feet. “What’s wrong?”
Ningguang offers no answer. Beidou gently pulls her close and she all but melts into her firm embrace, her legs giving out. The pirate is quick to catch her, carrying her love the rest of the way to her bed. The sheets are a mess. Quietly, she lays Ningguang down before pressing the back of her hand to her pale forehead. Even through her gloves, Beidou can feel her forehead burning. “Archons.” She gets up, rummaging through Ningguang’s drawers. “You can’t just sleep this off, do you have medicine somewhere?”
“Third… drawer,” comes the slurred response.
Beidou grabs the bottle, slipping a hand under Ningguang’s head to prop her up. “Here,” she coos softly, lifting the bottle to her lips. The Tianquan obediently finishes the concoction, her nose wrinkling in disgust at the bitter medicine. With that settled, the pirate studies her carefully. Ningguang’s normally-vibrant red eyes are dulled, her eyelids barely half-open. She shivers all of a sudden. Quietly, Beidou pulls the soft fleece blanket over Ningguang, stroking her hair tenderly. “Baobei. You should’ve told me,” she scolds gently.
“You’re… leaving tonight,” Ningguang murmurs sleepily.
“You’re more important than whatever business I have in Sumeru, my star,” Beidou whispers, leaning in to kiss her forehead.
“It’s just a… mild illness.” A feeble protest.
“Mild or no, I’m staying. My partners can wait,” the brunette says firmly. “I’m not leaving you alone, Ning. These fevers can get bad quickly.”
Silence. Then — a quiet whisper: “Thank you… Beidou.”
Tenderly, she leans down, pressing another kiss to Ningguang’s forehead. “I just want you safe and well, my star.” I worry for you.
“So do I,” Ningguang mumbles, her eyes already starting to close.
Beidou encourages it with gentle pats on her head. “Get some rest, okay? I’ll be here,” she promises, “Rest well, my heart.”

have some brainrot inspired by the anniversary genshin video where aether and lumine gets yeeted in a martial arts tournament (and of course this is beiguang)
not an actual fic, just mostly jointed thoughts that... end up somewhat coherent
beidou and ningguang knew each other way back, except beidou was a general and ning was the secretary of state? (archons are the emporers/empresses ig) and they were friendly with each other. Some might say more than friendly. But beidou also spends a lot of time in the army.
Then once beidou had refused to follow the imperial orders because the results would've been the loss of innocent lives, she returns to the capital, and for her disobediance promptly gets exiled (would've been execution if ning hadn't found out and pulled all the strings she could)
Then, they started holding martial arts tournaments. The winner could have a wish, or a request of the capital and the capital would fulfill it in any way they can, except a list of people are banned from participating (beidou among them).
Solution?
beidou decided to train someone up.
even exiled, she still has her connections within the capital, and ning subtly pushes baizhu and qiqi her way (ning worries for her pirate, ok?) and gradually people gather around the charismatic former general.
one day, she happens upon lumine, a kid fending off a wolf while trying to get through a forest idk, she has a soft heart so she picks lumine up and takes her home.
kazuha: wtf?
baizhu and qiqi: now you know how it felt when she first brought you in?
kazuha:... i mean-
ANYHOW. Fast forwards, and beidou just- continues to gather more people, and somehow they are now a rogue merc band that skitters on the outskirts of the country doing jobs and whatnot, all the while training lumine.
years later, and lumine is ready. xinyan wanted to be more of a musician and kazuha also ended up on the banned list due to some accidents a while back, and they go to the capital. As the group with the particpant, beidou has temp immunity.
tournament commences, and beidou finally sees ning again from afar. (she's still beautiful, still glorious, and in her eyes were steel.)
ningguang sees beidou, red eyes meeting another and an eyepatch (beidou was still stubborn, still boistrous and loving, and she was back.)
They can't meet- not when the entire country was watching everything happening in the capital.
Then- lumine fights aether.
beidou knew what would've happened as soon as she saw lumine's opponent- they looked too similar otherwise. She knew that lumine would cede the win, and beidou knew that she wouldn't fault the golden-haired teen for it.
lumine lost, and in that glorious moment when ning left for backstage and the emporer's made their way down, beidou vanished into the crowd.
the interior of the palace hadn't changed much, and they met each other easily. small pleasantries, desperate touches, a parting once again too soon.
the next day came with a surprise. Aether had ceded his prize to lumine, who then used the chance to give beidou back her position. of course, it didn't come without benefits for the rest of the crew- as the actual wish was more along the lines of "legalize and grant noble status to everyone of the crux."
(baizhu and qiqi return to bubu pharmacy and promptly start renovating, the poor souls.)
and beidou- beidou returns to being a general again? except she refused the position when offered, the emperor's leniancy was but a fickle thing. The crux crew were now legalized, and beidou is now a citizen again, but she remained the head of the independent crux force, one that works, ahem, closely with the Secretary of state on matters of import.
(sometimes their meetings could last days behind closed doors.)

i'm not sure what other gay implications have been censored bc i've only heard of the jeht thing but that's quite sad 😭. those tweets really annoyed me since they felt so dismissive of how censorship affects lgb ppl and representation of same sex relationships. it's nice that hyv continues to give us implied gay and lesbian relationships even when they've been forced to remove stuff before. they even extend it NPCs (who don't make them money) and dedicated a whole lantern rite (only yearly reoccurring festival, representing chinese culture!!) to showing guiping being soulmates.
i've read that beiguang thread; i love it a lot and reread it (+ other threads by that twt user) every once in a while since the amount of symbolism between them is wonderful. like the amount of effort put into their relationship is so lovely. and i love that the VAs are allowed to openly talk about and ship the gay and lesbian ships. not only the english VAs but i've seen chinese VAs tease about them often too!!
ur right that bronya and seele are more explicitly lesbian in honkai impact! in fact they kiss in one of the mangas (so not in game but still official content) and unfortunately this actually got taken down due to censorship and iirc was only reuploaded on the global site. not sure if it's still unavailable in CN. and apart from those two, the other two main characters, kiana (protagonist) and mei (who ei and makoto are based on) are canonically in love too!! kiana declares her love for mei within like 10?? minutes of starting the game and is very affectionate towards her. the driving force behind one of mei's main character arcs is literally her love for kiana. they have a buuuunch of cute official art including them getting married etc.

for context kiana (white hair) is dying and mei (black hair) has been offered the chance to save her by an enemy organisation and kiana is trying to stop her from leaving and joining that organisation

no haha im actually already decently familiar with the hi3 lesbians (tho not the story of honkai), so thank you for the reminders and context! also i forgot the bronseele stuff got taken down, which is again such an obvious rebuttal to those people who go "well there's explicit gay relationships in hoyo's other games, so they could do it in genshin and this means the couples you think are implied gay actually aren't" yeah before the even harder censorship crackdown that occurred a few years ago, those games?? the ones now being affected by the same censorship? like lmao okay. and genshin is their most popular game, ofc the censorship will be more enforced upon the media that has the most eyes on it. like it doesn't take much thought to realize why and what is being censored in genshin lmao. i wish we had more explicit lesbian and gay rep in genshin tho :'( i'm familiar enough with kiana and mei to wish we got more stuff like that. maybe in an upcoming region we could get a lesbian couple that's more heavily hinted at like how alhaitham and kaveh were. and they need to go "back" to beidou and ning and ei and miko and give them more obvious couple-y hints and scenes, we haven't seen them in ages and i'm missing them so much, especially beidou and ning.

truck simulator
“Baobei, I’m running outta gas,” Beidou says when Ningguang steps out of the bathroom. She pauses, wet hair still wrapped in a towel, looking over at the muscular woman already tucked into bed and staring intensely at her tiny phone screen. “D’you think I can make it to the nearest gas station in time?”
“Probably,” Ningguang offers, settling on a chair and turning the blow dryer on. She watches Beidou out of the corner of her eye as her white tresses slowly dry in the heat. The brunette wears a small frown on her face, glaring at the screen as though her virtual truck will refill its gas tank if she stares hard enough.
How cute.
“Need a radio?” she asks, setting the blow dryer down.
“Perfect. It’s no fun driving in silence.”
Ningguang opens Spotify, idly scrolling through her playlists. She’s already played classical music, instrumentals, pop… ah. Perhaps some jazz will do the trick this time.
“Groovy.” Beidou grins, humming along to Frank Sinatra’s ‘Fly Me To The Moon’.
Ningguang slides into bed with a smirk.
“Oh my god! I see a gas station!” Her wife babbles excitedly.
“Wonderful,” Ningguang replies as she checks on her virtual farm. The carrots are ready for harvesting, the cows need hay,, and… oh, she’s running out of eggs. She spends a few moments chuckling to herself at the cute chickens clucking about their coop.
“No!” Beidou suddenly howls, dropping her phone and burying her head in Ningguang’s chest. She pats the brunette gently, peering at the screen. Her truck had run out of gas right in front of the gas station.
Ningguang bursts into laughter as her wife pouts. “Oh, baobei… how do you manage these feats?”
Beidou scowls up at her. “Look, it’s hard playing on mobile!” She rolls onto Ningguang’s lap. “I’d do much better with a steering wheel and pedals; that full driving simulator set, you know?”
“Mmm.” Ningguang doesn’t know, but she makes a mental note to look it up. It sounds like the perfect birthday surprise.

I Don't Love You [Preview]
Writing a second part to that beiguang fic I did a few months ago and this shit is taking forever. I'm almost finished writing this shit, but then I'll have to read over it again once I'm done and I think that's why I'm stalling so much lol. But in the meantime, so I'm actually posting shit, have a preview!
The couple hour plane ride was enough for a decent nap, waking up as they were descending to land and park. Beidou could see Ningguang’s private car on the outskirts of the lot. She pressed her nose into the window and never took her eye off the black vehicle, waiting for her lover to exit.
Once they finally touched down, the driver exited first and walked to the back to open the door for Ningguang to step out. The wind blew her beautiful platinum blonde hair past her shoulders, obscuring her gorgeous face which was already difficult enough to see from the distance.
“Oh, how I’m so glad that she’s always been a woman of her word,” Beidou unbuckled her seatbelt and bounced over to the door of the plane, waiting for the moment when she could unlock the latch and push the door down. And she did just that. She forced the door open, hearing an odd clunk she knew Ningguang would scold her for later if it ended up that she broke it, jumping past all the stairs and sprinting full speed towards her. Ningguang visibly flinched as she realized that there was no stopping the incoming tackle she was about to receive. She haphazardly pulled off one heel, kicking it off, and she just barely managed to pull off the second one before-
“BAOBEEEEEEEEI!!” Beidou crashed into Ningguang, arms wrapped around her waist and turning into a full lift and spin. Ningguang yelped and wrapped her arms around Beidou’s neck. She realized she probably should have slowed down halfway through the sprint as the excitable woman lost balance and they began to fall. Beidou twisted herself so she landed on her back and not on top of her sweetheart. “Ow,” she groaned through pained laughter, “that hurt.”
“Woman! You are going to be the death of me!” Ningguang leaned in closer to Beidou as she yelled. “Or more likely yourself,” she slapped her hands onto Beidou’s cheeks and smashed her lips down onto the woman below her.
“I forgot how much it hurt to love you,” Beidou murmured against Ningguang’s lips once they broke their kiss.
“... And whose fault is that?”
“Would it be wrong of me to blame the very sexy woman above me?”
“Yes, yes it would.”
“Then I blame the very sexy woman above me,” she smirked. Ningguang rolled her eyes, slapping her hands onto Beidou’s chest and pushing herself up. The driver offered his hand in assistance to Ningguang, helping her stand. “So! Where are we headed first?” Beidou asked as she jumped up, dusting her back off.
“Firstly,” Ningguang nodded to the driver, “you need to go grab your things,” she pointed over Beidou’s shoulder, back towards the plane. The pilot was beginning to carry Beidou’s luggage from inside.
“Eh, I didn’t really have much to bring back home anyway,” Beidou took Ningguang’s pointed hand, kissing the top then lacing their fingers together.
“Still acting like a romantic, are we?”
“What do you mean? I’ve imagined so many romantic things to do to you while I’ve been away.” Beidou pulled Ningguang in by her waist, dangerously close to lowering her hand to her butt. Ningguang raised the placement of Beidou’s hand. She wrapped a handful of Beidou’s ponytail around her hand and yanked back.
“Save it for later.” she let go, spun Beidou around and pushed her toward the plane.

The "most kudos" sorting on ao3 is pretty accurate imo for most of the fics (but you do have to skip the chatfics manually). Some of the jeanlisa fics might be a bit older, but a lot are still really good! I think beiguang has the most fics, eulamber the least, so far at least.
