Being a fic reader is defending fic to people who don’t read it and saying things like “fanfic isn’t weird, it can be beautiful and well written and moving. It’s a way to connect more deeply with the media and it’s a great community.” Then going on ao3, reading the most unhinged, disgustingly out of pocket summary you’ve ever seen in your life paired with a set of tags that makes it very clear that the author should probably have a psychological evaluation and then sighing and reading the fic anyway.

Genshin... once upon a time in the ff.net days I wrote for Dragon Age, Claymore, Air Gear and Skyrim/Oblivion too, but these days a certain lesbian couple from Genshin lives rent-free in my head, y'know?

Yes I love all comments they make me squeal because wow someone found my shit in a sea of food and went, "damn I'm gonna talk to the person who pooped this shit out!" I'm honoured. Work sometimes makes me slow but I read every comment and spend way too long thinking about how I should respond HELP

I... I don't do angsty endings... there is a fic with one, but it's currently locked because it's for a zine. I'll share when it's out :P

i hardly write crossovers... it's enough trouble to make sure my ideas are potentially canon-compliant, nevermind making sure they could be accepted as canon for TWO universes. I wrote one for Skyrim x Genshin though. beiguang but dark brotherhood x pirate. :D

nope, i've done that plenty in classes and am honestly not a fan, but i'm sure it works for people who are very in-tune!

beiguang. my beloved. they pulled out 500k words from me and still counting after a 10-year hiatus. amazing
15. what's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
one that's been sitting in the pile for a while... about ningguang faking her death and beidou finding out like a year later. no, i don't have anything beyond that line :(

i think i write dialogue pretty well
17. what are your writing weaknesses?
i'm often too lazy to edit, and i slack a lot on descriptions because... yeah, i'm too lazy for my own good. :/
i can also get really impatient with longer fics like i'll get angry that i'm not at the scene i really want to write, count the number of chapters i still have to do to reach there, then close the doc in rage.
18. thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
i don't really like it, because it's kinda immersion-breaking for me. i prefer to write it all in english but state that the character is speaking in xxx language instead

beiguang mafia au with their version of a happy ending. I love my beiguang twisted, obsessive and somewhat toxic

Many people say at a glance, AI looks OK, but it messes up the details. Artists have a field day screenshotting the errors most of the time.
The issue is, we're conditioned to simply scroll. A glance is all we offer, and if it looks fine we don't bother to dig deeper. A layman could never see the myriad of issues with AI-generated art. It's a similar case for writing, really. Most people won't see the problem with AI writing, but any writer will.
The point is - AI is here to stay. Which also means that the creative process is more undervalued than it already is. It means a future generation of creators who won't understand what it means to pour your heart and soul into a creation; to etch a piece of yourself upon canvas; to write the song of your soul into existence.
The masters we study and the stories we analyse - all were crafted with a soul, with a fervent desire, with a dream. No matter how accurate or amazing AI becomes in the future, this I believe - no work of a machine will ever touch the hearts of humans the way a heartfelt poem or painting can. And no AI work will ever break the rules it has been constructed to obey, for that requires a soul and a yearning for something greater; a vision; a work that has yet to manifest.
The art of creating is dead. In AI we have forged unbreakable boundaries - not because we cannot, but because we will eventually forget how to break and rebuild our limits.
We will still aim for the stars, but we will no longer reimagine what the stars could be.

Hey btw, here's a piece of life advice:
If you know what you'd have to do to solve a problem, but you just don't want to do it, your main problem isn't the problem itself. Your problem is figuring out how to get yourself to do the solution.
If your problem is not eating enough vegetables, the problem you should be solving is "how do I make vegetables stop being yucky". If your problem is not getting enough exercise, the problem you should be solving is "how do I make exercise stop sucking ass". You're not supposed to just be doing things that are awful and suck all the time forever, you're supposed to figure out how to make it stop being so awful all the time.
I used to hate wearing sunscreen because it's sticky and slimy and disgusting and it feels bad and it smells bad, so I neglected to wear it even if I needed to. Then I found one that isn't like that, and doesn't smell and feel gross. Problem solved.
There is no correct way to live that's just supposed to suck and feel bad all the time. You're allowed to figure out how to make it not suck so bad.

Mostly Genshin impact! but other fandoms that i've written for are trigun stampede and naruto lol, and then atla by dint of crossover and two unmentioned as they form a crossover that i want to discard to the back of my mind

1: 5 times Ningguang saved Beidou and the 1 time Beidou returned the favour (genshin)

Yea!! although sometimes it takes a bit to kick my brain into gear to mass respond. Typically needs the right frame of mind, but then i can chug through replying to quite a few!

either Take my heart for it was already yours or Your soul's drowned into silence, No one will rouse you, both genshin with MCD ahaha oops

Fever, soup, and tiny baby chirps maybe??? i've quite a few with happy endings but this one was pretty cute

Probably! but people have been nice in the comments section and i love all my readers dearly :D

The one thats most out of nowhere is Rebirth, Revision, and Revolution, an atla x genshin fic where post apocalypse in genshin verse due to celestia, ning, beidou, yelan and keqing have been reincarnated into the elemental nations! i... really need to finish it lol, there's 3 chapters of *hopefully* 4 up, but the Book of Fire is not cooperating

not entirely certain! i think im usually decent at balancing humor in the right situations and worldbuilding?

actually getting the brain to settle down to write
ok while true, setting that aside, probably not knowing what to cut (i tend to want to put all the details i can think of in the fic, which isn't really conducive for a variety of reasons)
18. thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
depends on if i'm actually familiar with that other language or not, and how easy it is for the reader to get at translations (hover text or subscripts, depending), i myself probably won't be capable of doing so.

corporate ppl are always like “i hate email comms they cause so many delays” but those people are fools. i crave communication delays. i hit send on an email and then immediately shoot a prayer up to the heavens that the response may take 2-3 days. let’s slow everything down just a bit thank you.
