jotaro’s uniform hc
jotaro’s comfort clothing had always been his uniform and his hat.
except, after egypt, it was also a constant reminder of what he’d been through. it was still his comfort clothing, but now it was tainted by the blood spilled by his dead friends and by DIO. no matter how many times he washed it, despite the fact there wasn’t any blood on it physically, jotaro could never get the blood out of it.
he never said anything about it directly but holly picked up on it after awhile, how he’d reach up to pull his hat down and stop half way, hand hanging in the air with a blank expression and far away eyes. or how sometimes his chains would clink together and the sound would make him freeze up but only for a split second. you wouldn’t even notice if you weren’t looking, but holly was always perceptive when it came to her son. she had to be.
once she picked up on it, holly made him a new uniform from scratch (she had also made his original uniform years prior, adding the chains and the pins to his hat for him) but changed the colour to white for a complete new start. she thought the colour might cheer him up
jotaro HATED the new uniform. holly didn’t know what she was talking about, he didn’t NEED a new uniform. this one was fine. there was nothing wrong with it.
he kept wearing his old uniform, despite the added struggle that came with it. the new uniform just sat gathering dust in his closet. despite insisting he hated it, he never threw it out.
that was until one day, only a month after his return from egypt, when he dropped his hat to the floor and reached down to pick it up and he got his first flashback.
sand, blood, and DIO’s mocking laughing ringing around him. he was in egypt again. his friends were dead. DIO killed them. his mom was going to die. DIO was going to kill her.
he’d had nightmares since egypt, but it was the first time it’d been triggered by something other than his subconscious fucking him over. and that something was his fucking hat.
as he looked down at his hat with shaking hands, jotaro thought of the white uniform in his closet.

I came to bed “early” (early for me) and the way Holly Mop perked right up when she realized almost made me cry.
She went from lounging on @mothman-etd’s feet to sitting on the end of the bed, tail wagging excitedly as she waited for me to get under the covers then just plastered herself against my side with the biggest, most content sigh.
She’s currently wrapped around my leg like a koala making little whuffling snoring sounds.
We don't deserve dogs.

the amount of disrespect Nicasia gave Cardan when she chose to not ONLY cheat on Cardan behind his back for weeks but to also have sexual intercourse with Locke in Cardan's bedroom. And how Cardan found them wrapped in his tapestry blanket on HIS FLOOR!! the f*cking AUDACITY!!!!!!! It was so sad how heartbroken Cardan was that he drank for many days, laughed out of misery, and cried. He even was almost on the brink of doing something he never does: crawling to Nicasia to BEG her to love him again.
mermaid girl obviously made a HUGE mistake, because after that action she had lost his love and trust completely. I think that should say something about Cardan, he does not give second chances when someone neglects his heart. BUT HEY he ended up getting the long end of the stick, because he married his long time crush, and is now the high king of elfhameee. Gooooo Cardan!
