Do you think one of the reasons Eggman likes spooky locations is so he can taunt and exert power over the ghosts of his victims?
I definitely like to imagine it being part of the appeal of the spooky locations Eggman takes over. He likes charging into abandoned haunted places and announcing that it's his place now to do with as he pleases with smugness and pride and that they can't do anything about it because they're dead. He likes tearing parts of them down to replace with statues of his visage like Hang Castle/Mystic Mansion too.
Then he has the nerve to call them stupid for haunting his castle and acting like they own the place with a get off my turf attitude like in Shadow 2005, as if the bastard wasn't the one who just came in and acted like he owned the place and spat on their graves (sometimes literally just to be even more of an asshole about it, with the tombstones that are at some of these spooky locations) and disturbed their previously peaceful afterlife smh !!!
And as much as he can find them a nuisance when he dare to cause trouble for him as if the asshole isn't asking for it, another part of the appeal is adding to that ghost count. Saying he's going to give them some new little friends, so they should thank him really! That may be some of the poor small critters or any of his enemies that are either killed by the defense systems he sets in place or he takes matters into his own hands.
He'd enjoy threatening that he's going to throw his enemies right into the graves that are already there after he kills them, considering the times he's said Sonic is entering his tomb or arriving to his own funeral lol. And his victims will find they can't escape him and find freedom from his power and empire even in death, like how the ghosts that could have once been critters were trapped in the capsule in Sandopolis.
He'll say they'll always belong to him to do with as he pleases and will witness him in power and control of everything once he succeeds in taking over the world, whether they're alive or not! I can see it being one of the reasons he doesn't hold back on killing people before the day comes, as they don't even need to live to see, he'll make sure they do even in their afterlife. He'll make it an... unliving? undead? hell XD
Though it's a bit different with Sonic himself because he wants to feel the total satisfaction of showing him everything completed before he kills him so he feels like he's truly defeated him, broken him down, and proven himself to him once and for all before the big finish, which is why he kept him alive in Forces. Though I imagine he'd hope to get rid of that nuisance forever in all forms and completely erase his spirit too lol
But yeah he'd love to torment and mock his fallen enemies spirits whenever he's around, saying that he owns them both them and this spooky resting place to those of them that existed there prior to him taking it over. And when it comes to the ones he added to the count himself, he rubs in that fact that he killed them and proved his power over them and tells them they weren't worthy of life in comparison to his brilliant superior being.
He doesn't give them beautiful resting places, the ones he kills himself are just thrown into the graves of the previously buried on top of them in shallow holes. He defiles the tombstones and etches in crude epitaphs mocking them and spits, pisses, and dances on them when he's feeling especially cheeky. Others won't get a stone or even a hole at all as he traps them in his capsules, castles, or mansions.
And if he can't rid of Sonic's spirit then you bet he's not gonna let him have peace or interfere and will use the same methods to try to mock him further and exert power over him too. If he manages to at least do that, they'll still be the bright side of getting to rub it in every day that he killed him and got what he wanted, the world belongs to him and he lives and thrives while Sonic can only watch helplessly from the afterlife!
But yeah I imagine that he loves spooky scary locations for multiple reasons- he likes the aesthetic and atmosphere that scares people as it it's like a real life scary spooky attraction experience like the artificial ones at theme parks that he loves just as much, he likes taking any abandoned place and defiling and taking it over to serve his selfish desires, and he also really loves trapping and mocking ghosts!

Demons Unleashed ~ Origins of the Ink Demon Gaiden Pt.24 ~
[Hang Castle/Mystic Mansion]
Seto : So it seems like that we have the Blue Pure Heart that is connected to the fifth pillar, so all of them are in seven total like the seven chaos emeralds.
Solva : This is really getting in hand.
Grim (Metal Sonic) : It's much more than, you two. The eighth and final collector is a mysterious one who will be the keys to bring pure love or bring an end to all along with this planet. But we don't know if we're ready to find out who is the eighth collector and who has the White Pure Heart, the one that connects to the eighth and final vessel. I look deep regrets to find out about it's whereabouts.
Seto : Of course, by the looks of it, who knows? Maybe it's a wonderful suggestion. Can't say how are thing going to be great as we all know it. I don't recall anyone to thinking who has that White Pure Heart.
Solva : Yeah, who has it?
[suddenly the lights went out]
Solva : What the-!?
Seto : What!? A power outage?
[the White Pure Heart appears]
Seto : Hey, that's the White Pure Heart, someone picked up from somewhere before. Did you got this from Shinra's Beloved or something?
Solva : No it wasn't me that I found it, it wasn't found it like that and by the way the Eighth and final collector isn't anyone but besides who is it.
Seto : I finally think to solve one question, since that cat burglar has the Yellow Pure that was meant for you, I'm still the Blue Pure Heart's collector. So it's not Winry Rockbell, not Miku Hatsune, nor anyone else. It could be someone that has the white pure heart. The Eighth and Final collector of the Eighth Pure Heart, I wonder who it is this time and what's it's responsibility to bring out the solution bringing the pure hearts to bring true love?
[the lights turn suddenly back on]
Seto : Oh geez, the power's back on it. Someone must've manage to bring out the solution on who ever brought the white pure heart...?
[The Great Old One of Power appears with the White Pure Heart in it's hand]
[Bad Girl - Sota Fujimori]
Seto : The Great Old of Power? Why is it here? Are you the eighth and final collector of the Pure Hearts.
Solva : I don't know much about it, but this will be the last time that we've seen the Great Old One of Power, but this one from the Ohkuboverse has gotta know about something to do with the eighth and final pure heart. Are we really that dumb enough to think that she's not even the Eighth and Final one.
Great Old One of Power (?) : No, I'm not the Eighth and Final Collector, but perhaps this considered a gift to the real Eighth and Final collector to this here heart.
Seto : Wait a sec. You sound familiar, Do I know you in the early 2000s?
Great Old One of Power : Yes, I am. You do remember me, Seto the Deathless. I've known about Shotaro for a long time and I always figured it out that Shotaro was the leader of our group the Dokeshi Alliance.
Seto : Yeah, his name is Shotaro the Dokeshi, he's the one who has stolen my title as Shinigami and he is a charlatan after I witnessed that he was the responsibility for creating the Mabuki that turned out to be his bones and which he used Alchemy to create the ultimate taboo in the Ohkuboverse. You are that girl that you got everyoned involved!
Great Old One of Power (?) : I knew that you would come to this day just to see that I am a fake, I'm not even the Great Old one of Power at all, the real Great Old Ones were lovecraftian and for me? I'm a just a girl who always stick with Shotaro since Ohkubo debuted as an author since the Space Colony Ark incident. (converts to reveal it's true form that is a girl; it's Mana Hinoki from B.Ichi)
*DBZ SFX : Surprise*
Seto : What the...It can't be...you disappeared during that Deathscythe investigation, I know you...(flashes to an image of a mugshot of Mana Hinoki wanted and flashes back to her) Mana Hinoki! The Mana Hinoki that Shotaro knew and I knew that is a martial-arts girl! You're the Great Old One of Power!
Solva : What!? This is the legendary martial artist that fought alongside with Shotaro in order to find Emine, one of the four heartless emperors of evil?
Seto : I haven't seen your face in a while, tell me, Mana Hinoki. Why would your friend do to this witchkind, Mana? Just tell me why!? Why is Shotaro doing this to all of Ashley's people.
Mana Hinoki : I'll tell you, Deathless. I wanna just to believe in truth, Shotaro was fooled by the real Lord Death, Shotaro was just a puppet to another heartless and I figured it out who it was.
*flashback*
"When Shinra created Death for no reason or any kind of reason, Death itself has traveled to the Paper Mario Universe to get in contact with the Tribe of Ancients, the civilization whom he gathered the eight hearts and eight souls from his creator Shinra and his people after he left them to be annihilated by the Time Eater in the destruction of the Ohkuboverse resulting it in half of it being destroyed or erased."
"After he gave the tribe in order to create the Purity Heart, Lord Death have converted into it's full true form Darkside Death, a heartless who steals the hearts and souls from others and the ancients had no choice by banishing him to a fantasy world that Maka was living in, a world that was made in deception. That wasn't the Ohkuboverse she was living in, she was living in a dream the entire time and the story was all false."
*flashback ends*
Mana Hinoki : So I found out that Darkside Death had been sleeping for a long time and Shotaro became a victim under the heartless's possession.
Solva : Who knew that the world of Soul Eater had been a fantasy inside of Maka's head, so the real ohkuboverse was not just destroyed half in...
Seto : It was destroyed, but in order to erase the half of the Ohkuboverse is to wake up into reality, Maka was the only one who erased the entire Ohkuboverse by waking up into reality! That all makes sense now.
Solva : So there was no Kishin, there was no Shinigami.
Grim (Metal Sonic) : And there's no such thing as madness, that was only a mere concept in Greek Mythology which Hercules ceased to functioning it by using the vibe of calmness and a cup of tea.
Solva : Green Tea it is, vibe of calmness is the only source that will the stop madness by calming ourselves. But why in the world didn't you go after Shotaro? What's that big of a deal?
Mana Hinoki : Well, if it's your loss cause, then I suggested that I would able to meet Shotaro again, but I got scared when I think of of the eyes of Demon Vibe who tries to this conquer galaxy means, but all I can do to pray that we may all find hope again and put an end to this so-called madness. if you wish bring calmness and tea to this world, we would've end those cursed stories with the power of the Seven World Wrings. As matter of fact, you'll may never know who the true White Pure Heart collector. But in order to save this galaxy, I must put an end the cursed legacy and the seven rings shall make them reach the end of his or her tale!
Inky Albarn : YOINK! *WHOOOSH!*
Mana Hinoki : Huh? (realizes that the White Pure Heart is missing in her hand) What? Where did the White Pure Heart go?
Inky Albarn : Looking for this?
Seto : What!?
[Throw it all Way (Intrusmental) by Fumie Kumatani plays]
Solva : Hey, that girl snatched it from her hands!
Mana Hinoki : No! You thief! You're the White Pure Heart's true collector!? You purloin!
Inky Albarn : Now that I have the heart in my hand, you served Shotaro no purpose. Guess Darkside Death served you to be alone.
Solva : Give that back to her, she found it first!
Inky Albarn : Nice try, but I don't take orders from no one, not even you would underestimate my power. I should making you thank me for this heart as a gift of my own. See ya around, girlies. (throws black ink at the group's faces except for Grim)
*SPLAT!*
Seto : AAH! Hey! we can't see! Get this off me!
Solva : This ink! It's blinding my eye sight! What gives!
Mana Hinoki : Damn it! Damn it all to hell!
Seto :
Grim (Metal Sonic) : Curses! This is an emergency! (presses button to call the guards)
*DOOR BANG!*
Guard Pawn : Hang Castle Security Force! What seems the problem! My lord! Miss Seto, are you alright?
Seto : I'm fine, but she got away...more importantly, she got the White Pure Heart. She was the last and true collector of the Eight Pure Hearts.
Grim (Metal Sonic) : This ink has blinded her eyesight. It's Inky Albarn, the demon queen of the Ink Demons.
Guard Pawn: What? The queen is back? But she should've been staying dead, but no reports of anything involved with the DWMA, sir.
Seto : No wonder why she wanted heart, you should realize that she was the one who framed Maka four years ago. Something tells me that she discovered who or what destroyed the entire Ohkuboverse, and it wasn't the Time Eater this time, It was Maka Albarn herself, she's the Ohkuboverse's second destroyer.
Solva : Seto, you mean it's true?
[ ADA (Promise) - Maki Kirioka]
Seto : The World of Soul Eater she and everyone lived was nothing more than a fantasy living inside her head, a world that does not exist, the Real Ohkuboverse may have been destroyed incompletely, but it's not enough when it comes to fantasy worlds that only existed from psychological to real world. So half of the remaining Ohkuboverse will be erased by Maka waking up into reality. When you put her in that special room that is her imprisonment, Wizeman put a sleeping spell to trap her into the world of Soul Eater, the world that she lived in was only a dream. She realized that the friends that fought alongside weren't there for her or the group she was with.
Solva : And it comes myself into fruition that a minor detail is really solves this possible, the whole defeating god thing with courage was the useless gift, it wasn't Nights' fault that made her to kill a God, It was Kirby's. He made them do it. And the more stuff to think is that she's the Ohkuboverse and Nights told her wake up, or Grim told you that. Maybe it was the Seeker of Darkness, that she fell into a Dream Drop Distance. Does that make Soul Eater Evans himself a victim to the dream?
Seto : That's correct. If Mana Hinoki was the Great Old One of Power, then I guess she must've been a victim to the Darkness itself. I wonder what those three-eyed symbols mean to Soul World itself?
Solva : Well, apparently those three-eyed symbols weren't the symbols of a Kishin at all, it's Demon Vibe's. And the Shadow Realm, it's basically a dimension that Zorc created it.
Egg Pawn : Sir, get a load of this. She must've written something when she left the scene earlier before we got here too late.
Grim (Metal Sonic) : What...What is this? This is in Japanese Kanji. Is there anyone who could read in Japanese.
Mana Hinoki : Allow me to demonstrate for you. [reads it in Japanese]
Grim (Metal Sonic) : So what did it say before the demon queen fled?
Mana Hinoki : I just realized something, Shinra Kusakabe made a huge mistake in the Ohkuboverse's chronology. It says "Shinigami or otherwise that bastard son Lord Death isn't appeared what it used to be, but the face of him is nothing more than a heart of Darkside itself." A heart of Darkside itself...
Grim (Metal Sonic) : So Lord Death isn't really...Lord Death?

Predictions
After having thought about it, here are my predictions for Sonic Shadow Generations. My predictions are mostly about what stages will be introduced for Shadow, since the standard stages in Sonic Generations will most likely already be included as implied by it being a remaster. It seems like this game largely exists as a lead up to Sonic Movie 3, which will be a play on the events of Sonic Adventure 2 (interesting that they're skipping the first Adventure title, by the way.)
It's probably to make Shadow marketable again, like with Knuckles. If this succeeds, he may very well become even more popular than ever before.
Main Prediction: Backstory Level Pack + Playable Character After unlocking him, Shadow becomes a playable character in Modern Sonic stages. Pretty straightforward, but they might add a few things to the stages in order to utilize some unique mechanics of his. You can see him teleporting in place of a homing attack in the few seconds of gameplay they show, so it's possible.
In addition, I predict for there to also be a smaller sum of levels for Shadow in order to sum up his backstory before heading into a conflict with a resurrected Black Doom. For this prediction, I'm selecting 1 per game.
Shadow Stage 1: Radical Highway That city stage in the trailer could easily be Radical Highway given the red siding on the roads. Plus, it's Shadow's first stage ever, it's very iconic, and Sonic Team loves to use the stage theme as a musical motif for Shadow. If they don't include Radical Highway in some form, I'll be shocked.
Shadow Stage 2: Final Chase This one's a gimme if you watched the trailer. His debut title is Sonic Adventure 2, and we get a brief glimpse of him on that very stage attacking GUN robots. It's only natural, since it looks like it'd get followed up with that reimagining of the Biolizard boss fight, which was the culmination of Shadow's arc in SA2. Shadow Stage 3: Hang Castle/Mystic Mansion His next appearing title is Sonic Heroes. I'll admit, this one's wishful thinking- there's not much evidence for it, since all four teams go through every stage in Heroes. It means none of them really have any special meaning to or association with Shadow, as a character. I love these Halloween stages, though. Sue me, I named myself after the fucking month of Halloween.
Shadow Stage 4: Westopolis His next chronological installment is Shadow the Hedgehog. To tell the truth, I'm torn between Westopolis (the first stage, and the one you have to do on every playthrough, ugh) and Final Haunt (the only stage that comes close to being good, a stage taking place in the alien landscape of the Black Comet, home of the Black Arms and Black Doom.) The trailer's city stage could still be Westopolis, though, given that red fog, which looks very similar to the fog in the hilarious opening cutscene of Shadow the Hedgehog, so I suppose my hands are tied. But my earnest desires are for Lethal Highway (gee, wonder why,) and Final Haunt.
Shadow Stage 5: Radical Train His next installment is Sonic 06. Normally, I'd not include one from this title, but Crisis City is literally in Sonic Generations. Anyway, Radical Train is the only stage anyone likes, so let's root for it. It's also the stage associated with the cutscene where Shadow roundhouse kicks Silver, and that one is truly legendary.
Shadow Stage 6: Mystic Jungle - Eggman's Facility This one was difficult: his most recent appearance in a mainline title was Forces, as a DLC character, with three stages for a short story explaining his involvement with Infinite, a prominent villain in that title. There's not much to go on here. Ultimately, I've picked this stage, as it's the most distinct of the three, involving infiltrating one of Eggman's bases. Nobody wants a second Green Hill stage.

OKAY i said i would make a post about my thoughts on paper mario a while ago and im finally writing it out
ill put it under a break because its probably gonna be long-ish
update: yea this bitch is LONG
okay so overall i really really enjoyed it!! it was really solid for the first entry in the series and i could definitely see the inspiration that ttyd later took from it. one thing that i didnt know about was partners not having HP, which threw me for a little bit of a loop. partners as a whole in this game don't play as active of a role as i wouldve expected because they have so little lines but using them in battle is still very fun! another small thing but i also hadn't expected mario to be completely silent, but it later grew on me!
i'm also gonna list my experiences and opinions on each chapter so here we go!!
chapter 1 - pretty alright for an introductory chapter! i didnt find anything especially notable, apart from getting 2 partners in one chapter. navigating the koopa bros. fortress was fun, and i loved the battle at the end!! their theme is SUCH a banger i had to sit back and listen to it for a bit when the fight actually started ehe
chapter 2 - not quite a fan of this one imo? i liked the first part through the mountain, but the trek though dry dry desert kinda took it out of me. BUT the addition of my favourite partner made up for it! parakarry my beloved <3 also the cutscene where dry dry ruins rise up??? that shit was SPECTACULAR. i absolutely loved how it turned dark when it first came up, i wish it stayed like that for more than just until you entered the ruins. the boss itself wasn't too exciting for me, probably because there wasnt much of a story?? i dont know how to describe it. actually its like that for quite a few of these bosses, but its the first entry for this series, so i wont fault it too much.
chapter 3 - this might be my FAVOURITE chapter- the suspense buildup throughout the entire chapter was AMAZING holy moly!!! first through the forever forest when you have bootler ask for you, and then wandering the mansion itself. i TOTALLY thought that boos were gonna be actual enemies when i saw them floating around. sneaking around tubba blubba's castle was so so fun to do, and i legitimately panicked when you ran into him in the hall and also when he wakes up and chases you back to the windmill. i didnt actually think the heart itself was the boss, just a miniboss, so i freaked out when i left the windmill and was immediately thrown into a battle with tubba blubba. i cannot express just how much i enjoyed this chapter, seriously!!
chapter 4 - coming back to toad town with the music change threw me for a bit; i wasnt expecting action to pop up so soon! figuring out that you could actually go into the toybox was such a "wait, what??" moment for me, but like, in a positive way. it was really cool to navigate this chapter and the lantern ghost encounter genuinely creeped me out at first because it was COMPLETELY dark. the fight against general guy is also a BANGER i could listen to it all day
chapter 5 - man i LOVE the whale. just a big guy willing to take u across the ocean :^) i really appreciated how you weren't stranded on the island too, like how you were on keelhaul key in ttyd. the ravens are also funky little guys, love them too. again, the lava piranha didnt really have any substance to it BUT it was a nice fight nonetheless! when it popped up again i was shocked but i made it through!! also fuck kolorado he doesnt deserve his wife
chapter 6 - this one's formatting is really neat- one central area with lots of branching paths, which i hadnt seen in my past pm experiences! i loved the quest leading up to the big beanstalk, plus the environment was so pretty!! the little part with the sun tower popped out to me, i'm not sure why though. maybe it was the music, it was so different from the flower fields theme. at first i had actually expected to go up to the clouds earlier, maybe like midway through the chapter. i thought that would be the "dungeon" of this part, so i was a little bit let down when i realized that the fields were the majority. however, the bit of the clouds we do see is SO good i LOVE the atmosphere!! huff n puff was actually relatively easy, using parakarry and lakilester for their all-around attacks. the guitars were a nice touch for his theme as well!
chapter 7 - oh dude i LOVED this chapter. i didnt know what i was expecting when i first went into the pipe in the sewers, whether it would put me into a village immediately or if i would have to make it through some screens before. needless to say, i was relieved when it popped me out into shiver city. the whole place felt "warm" which was really nice!! i was comparing it to ttyd's chapter 7 and fahr outpost which i didn't really vibe with, so it was a nice change! the whole murder plot was also unexpected but i enjoyed the whole "whodunnit" mystery! omg as im typing this i realize just how many aspects of this chapter i love this is gonna be long,, the entire snowy atmosphere is just so PRETTY and starborn valley felt so solitary to the rest of the land, like its own little bubble. i also had no idea that ninjis were in this game so when i saw one at merlon's i was like HUH?? anyways the way up the mountain to the crystal palace kept me on my toes; i thought that was the dungeon at first! the small bit where you see madam merlar and she tells you the story of the palace really got to me i have no idea why. the music and mysticality of it all was just SO good. dont even get me started on the crystal palace itself HOLY MOLY. the whole reflection bit was SO SO clever and the moment you realize its NOt actually a mirror?? fucking magnificent. this has to be my favourite dungeon in the whole game because it has such a NEAT gimmick!! it also has my favourite mario enemies, duplighosts! FUCK the crystal king though. he stunlocked me with his freezing move because i could not get the hang of blocking it. my partners really carried me for that battle; thank god for quick change
chapter 8 - THIS CHAPTER DELIVERED. the buildup for the entire game leading to this point. OUTSTANDING. i had to sit back and admire star haven because its so pretty- did i mention i love the water graphics in this game?? it has a pixelly look but it works SO WELL. going to the ship to take you to bowser's castle really felt like a "this is it" moment. the entirety of bowser's castle was So Good, it kept me on my toes the entire time!! slowly advancing as the music got more intense REALLY pumped me up. tracks that start off with only a couple instruments and eventually add more as you progress is one way to make me go BONKERS. the one bit where you make your way outside on the bridge and the music dials down and then you re-enter on the other side to it SLAMMING you in the face- that was Great. and then the complete silence as you get outside peach's castle HOLY SHIT. and then you actually enter the palace and the music is SO EERIE and youre like OH SHIT THIS IS REALLY IT. seriously, the buildup for this entire castle is done SO magnificently. i hadn't expected to fight bowser twice, i guess it was the game's way of letting u level up One Last Time before u got to the big bad. that being said, i wasn't too worried on getting a game over since i was fucking stacked on items. but that's besides the point- the fight itself got my heart POUNDING. the effects for the star rod and the star's powers were really nice to see in action, and the little section with peach and twink was so cool! i was expecting a little interlude where you would get your stats maxed out because thats how its like in every pm game, but it was still moving :)) bowser's final battle theme fucking SLAPS. the guitar especially sounds AMAZING. you really see him as a threat here and its so badass. his healing move fucked me over multiple times- i probably ended up having to deal with double his base HP over the course of the fight.
after the fight was over and you got to see peach's castle float down with the soft music in the background, it really hit me that its done, its over. again, the effects in this game are so pretty and theyre utilized SO well for the n64. visiting toad town one last time with all the npcs was a really nice touch- for some reason i really loved being able to interact with vanna t. (chuck quizmo's toad assistant) she's ADORABLE and i will probably end up drawing her sometime :)) the credits were also something that i really enjoyed- i LOVE the ongoing theme of parades at the end. seeing everything and everyone in the game condensed into a short 8 minutes really got me, i cant remember but im pretty sure i was smiling the whole time! and a small sidenote- TOADS WITH GLOWING SPOTS ON THEIR HEAD HELLO?????? I WANNA DRAW THAT SO BAD.
the ending screen with peach and mario looking at the fireworks made me really soft and i teared up a little because i was finally finished. the addition of pop diva's solo in the track was also so touching, it was my favourite sidequest in the game so hearing it again brought up Emotions :')
one thing i wasnt sure of was if there was a post-game mode and my completionist heart was disappointed a little when i found out i couldn't advance from the end screen and was forced to reset. although not many games from this era had post-game content so i cant dock too many points for that.
the paper mario series has a fond place in my heart, and finally being able to play the game that started it all really was a special experience. it really cemented my love for the original formula and i could see many places where ttyd took inspiration from. this game really is fun, and i would highly recommend playing it yourself if you have the means!

Amy Rose’s Character in Sonic Heroes
Okay so I’ve done this before with another post by the same person, and I’m going to do it again because I feel like it. So I was scrolling through Tumblr when I came across @skull001‘s post about Amy’s leadership in Sonic Heroes. I had a lot to add, and thus had a long reblog post. I decided to make a separate post about it simply to get my thoughts out there more. I’m just going to past the original comment from the reblog, and feel free to comment with your thoughts. Here’s Skull001′s orignal post. Now then, onto the actual post.
[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[This would be where I would put a line break. IF I HAD ONE!]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]
Sonic Heroes honestly has my favorite interpretation of Amy. I think the game does a good job of showing multiple sides of her personality. To go into detail:
1. The game does a pretty good job of showing Amy’s energetic side. In the first cut scene, Amy is ready to jump into action with the rest of her team to save Cheese and Chocola. She manages to maintain that same energy throughout most of the game. Even when she gets discouraged after the fight with Team Sonic, she bounces right back and is ready to go after Eggman. Also, and a lot of people may not know this, but one of Amy’s lines for when Team Rose wins in the multiplayer mode also shows her energetic nature, and is one of my favorites in the series: “What? Are you finished? How BORING!”
2. The game also shows how Amy is a lot braver than she used to be. Especially when it comes to Eggman. In the previous games (Sonic CD, SA1, and SA2), Amy shows obvious fear toward Eggman, and that same fear prevents her from taking action against him, and she instead runs away. However, in this game, she is not gonna back down. She is not afraid of Eggman, and she will not stand for what he’s doing. She even calls him names, such as calling him a “Mustache Monkey.” Not to mention at the beginning of Egg Fleet she says “If you want a fight, you’ve got one! Let’s get the bloated buffoon!” (I know the screenshot above says something different, but I know that’s what she said in the U.S. release). She’s come a long way since her CD days. This extends to Metal Sonic as well. Metal Sonic kidnapped Amy in Sonic CD, so it would only be natural for her to be afraid. However, when facing off against Metal Madness, she doesn’t show fear. On the contrary, she is very upset. Not only did Metal Sonic pretend to be the actual Sonic in the newspaper, Metal Sonic was the one who kidnapped Froggy and Chocola in the first place. Amy is mad, and she will not hesitate to take him down.
3. Next, the game makes Amy’s crush on Sonic obvious, but I think it’s done just enough to avoid making it overbearing. She mentions Sonic a few times, she gets upset after their first confrontation, etc. I’d say they make Amy’s crush on Sonic more obvious during the beginning of the story, but after fighting the Egg Albatross and finding the fake Eggman, I don’t think she even mentions Sonic again until Team Rose fights the Egg Emperor. I’ll explain why this matters a lot in the next point. I know some people may say she still concentrates on Sonic too much, but in her defense, this game actually gives a good reason for that. In Team Rose’s first cut scene, she is shown looking at a newspaper with a picture of Sonic running with Froggy and Chocola. As stated by Cream, the newspaper is their only clue to the whereabouts of Froggy and Chocola. Since Team Rose doesn’t know it’s actually Metal Sonic, they believe that Sonic should know what happened to them. I know in their confrontation with Team Sonic, Amy may just come off as wanting to marry Sonic (which I see as more comedic than anything, but I digress), but if you lose both Cream and Big, Amy says with an angry tone “Give back Froggy and Chocola. You won’t get away with this.” She may love Sonic, but she knows Cream, Cheese, and Big are concerned for Froggy and Chocola, thus she gets her priorities straight.
4. Finally, let’s talk about Amy as a leader. I think she makes for a really good one, and this game is the perfect example of that. If you look at all of the members of Team Rose, Amy is the one with the most experience adventuring and taking on Eggman. Thus, it is only natural that she take the leadership role. I know some people may think Amy would not make a very good leader, but that could not be further from the truth. Throughout the game, there are a few times where Cream, Cheese, and Big get discouraged and may even want to give up and go home. Those times being in Team Rose’s first cut scene when they’re looking at the newspaper, after they fight the Egg Albatross, and right before Hang Castle. Amy realizes that her team members are discouraged, so she tries to make sure that no matter what they keep moving forward, saying stuff like “Let’s keep moving” and “We can do this!” Amy wants to raise their team morale by making them believe in themselves. And she manages to do this. To quote Big and Cream, right before Hang Castle, Big says “I’ve got to get tough for all of us.” Then when they enter Mystic Mansion, when Cream says she’s scared, Big says he’ll be right by her to protect her. Later on, at the beginning of Final Fortress, Cream says “I’ve got to pull myself together!” As a result, during the Egg Emperor fight, she says with quite a brave tone “I won’t stop until Cheese and Chocola are reunited!” Team Rose had gone a long way, and thanks to Amy’s leadership and encouragement, they were able to work together to defeat Eggman and save Froggy and Chocola. Also, a cute little detail in Team Rose’s final cut scene is that either Cheese or Chocola (maybe both) say “Amy, Chao Chao” which I believe translates to “Amy, Thank You.”
Amy is my favorite Sonic character, and Sonic Heroes is my favorite Sonic game. It’s why I was able to say all of this without having to look any of it up. Even the quotes. When some people say Amy is bad in this game, I don’t think they’re really looking at Amy’s character as a whole, and are simply concentrating on when she mentions Sonic. However, it’s not as bad as they perceive it to be, and as I stated before, the game actually gives a good reason for it. This is the type of interpretation of Amy I want in the games. A brave, energetic, kind girl. The more recent games are getting her kind part right, but the brave part could be a bit better, and her energetic side doesn’t seem nearly as prominent as it used to be, at least in my opinion. If the writers want a good example of how to write an Amy out in the field adventuring, I think Sonic Heroes is a good reference.

Sonic?
I frekaing loVE Sonic
Favorite Male CharacterTails! Though Sonic, Orbot, Cubot and Metal Sonic are close contenders.
Favorite Female CharacterHeavy Magician, if she counts! I love her.
Least Favorite CharacterThis... is hard actually uh. I used to hate Big the Cat with a burning passion but I kinda left it behind after a while. I GUESS I’d have to say Elise? She doesn’t exist in Sonic Canon technically (because Sonic 06 isn’t canon) but still.
Favorite ShipI never got into ships much, so I don’t have much opinion on any.
Favorite FriendshipSonic, Tails, and Knuckles probably! Also Amy and Cream and Shadow and Rouge.
Favorite Quote“You might know everything I’m going to do, but that’s not going to help you since I know everything you’re going to do! Strange, isn’t it?”
Worst Character Death (if any)Maria. She’s the only character that I remember dying, and considering it’s Sonic and we know for a fact how she died and what she did as she was dying? Worst death right there.
This made me so happy you have no idea MomentThe entirety of Sonic Mania. Every bit of it. The throwback commercial. The opening animation. The game itself. The music goodness gracious the music I’m
Saddest MomentI honestly couldn’t tell you? Sonic defending his friends in any way, shape, or form really gets me though.
Favorite LocationStardust Speedway, or Studiopolis! Hang Castle/Mystic Mansion! There’s so many locations I love but those are just three.

Tails, Knuckles, Mephiles, and Gadget.
Tails - Favourite continuity? (Games, Comics or one of the Cartoons etc.)
Probably the games. I haven't read the comics, and the cartoons are alright but I haven't really watched much of them either.
---
Knuckles - Favourite level/location?
You know I can't pick just one...
Theme-wise is the Halloween / Supernatural levels. I just love them as they are so atmospheric and perfectly haunted and fun. Following that would probably the Eggman Fleet / Space for the same reason of atmosphere (HAH, ironic.) and being interesting and fun. After that... the Lava theme, those are great levels too. Oh! And the Casino / Carnival theme! :D Ice Stages are also cool. :P
(I just love them all.)
Level wise (The ones I've played):
Sonic 1's Starlight Zone.
Sonic 2's Oil Ocean (And Mania's remake. :D ).
Sonic 3 and Knuckles' Ice Cap, Flying Battery Zone and Lava Reef Zone. (And Mania remakes).
Adventure's Casinopolis and Sky Deck.
Heroes' Casino Park, BINGO Highway, Hang Castle, Mystic Mansion, Egg Fleet, and Final Fortress.
Shadow the Hedgehog's Digital Circuit, Cryptic Castle, Circus Park, Air Fleet, Iron Jungle, G.U.N. Fortress, Black Comet, Lava Shelter, Final Haunt, and The Last Way.
Advance 1's Ice Mountain Zone and Egg Rocket/Cosmic Angel Zone.
Advance 3's Toy Kingdom and Chaos Angel Zone.
Unleash's... well... all of them are good really... even Eggmanland.
Colors' Sweet Mountain, Starlight Carnival and Asteroid Coaster.
...
TL;DR: I love all the levels, basically. XP
---
Mephiles - Favourite Villain?
(Isn't it ironic that Mephiles is the 'villain' representing it?)
Eggman, duh. Master plan all the way! *Plays E.G.G.M.A.N. on loop.*
Metal Sonic and Fang are quite the favorite for me too. And the Deadly 6 if they were written better (Hmmm... heh he...) .
---
Gadget - Any ocs?
Well, I don't really have any, but I do support those who do! :D Your OCs are great!

I want to hear your unique headcanons for an actual vampire Eggman! Let's make both our dreams come true bro *eyes* like how would he get his victims? Does he drink too much blood or go overboard like he does when eating in Canon? What vampire power would he use most?
I love actual vampire Eggman concepts! I've always had an AU for it, so I'm delighted to share some of my ideas. :D
He can only be found in the darkest, most spooky of places to perfectly match with his element. Some of the most notable being Hang Castle, Mystic Mansion, and Cryptic Castle. Sometimes he wishes he could expand his horizons and go to places where there are more people for the sake of hunting, but he can't stray too far from the darkest, most hidden away places. He at least enjoys the peace and quiet of getting to roam around on his own in them, as he only wants company if it's to get a bite.
His preferred way of catching his prey is by being sneaky! He gets the most thrill and entertainment out creeping up on them and their reaction when he catches them. He enjoys having the power to strike fear into their hearts by trying the most sudden and frightening approaches possible- it gets their blood pumping and ready for him to drink! So he often lurks in the shadows and when someone dares to visit the spooky area he’s at, he’ll soon be on their trail and will try his best to go mostly unnoticed.
He's big and intimidating as usual and certainly knows how to use it to his advantage when he’s out in the open. But he can also be quite clumsy, stumbling around and messing it up when he’s trying to silently follow his prey. It makes his preferred way of catching a little more challenging but it can be part of the fun. And even if he is spotted, they’re still screwed either way because he’ll be outright with his attacks if he must. His impressive amount of strength remains as a vampire and most don’t stand a chance against it.
Everyone is very afraid of his huge fangs and the way his bites are the most dangerous of all vampire bites. They’re so sharp and rough that he can easily draw lots more blood out of a wound than expected, and it’s often merely by accident due to his eagerness. That’s a big problem for the victim but a pleasant surpise for him! He finds it a real treat and laps it all up happily. He almost always drinks more than the amount one might consider suitable for a vampire’s feeding but he's never followed the rules!
Many assume that he pulls in victims frequently and is very successful due to how plump he is. XD But the places he stays don’t get visitors as much as he’d like so it’s not how often he gets them, it’s how he tends to go overboard with it. He makes the most out of every catch by drinking as much as he can and he doesn’t need to feed again for a good while after, which is well worth the effort! He also has the habit of drinking too fast so he gets hiccups and doesn’t seem so scary for a few minutes nshfjsfjsfg
He can turn into a bat, a cute round one lol. He doesn’t change often because it drains his energy but it can help him get around a bit more quietly when necessary and he likes to use it for a lot of cruel trickery. One example of this is by flying up from behind someone, then suddenly changing back to frighten them. People find it terrifying every time and he’s very amused. When they practically leap into the air with fright, it's the perfect chance for him to catch them off guard and grab them!
He's light sensitive to both artificial sources and natural sunlight, so he prefers to remain in the shadows and pitch blackness. Some mild exposure isn't severely damaging, but he prefers to avoid it entirely for the comfort of his eyes and skin. Trouble is, he still can’t see any better in the dark as a vampire, which is even more of a problem with all the dark places he hangs around in. Luckily, part of his vampire abilities is that he has an increased sense of smell and hearing, which helps him get around.
He has memorized smells of every area he roams to identify them and notices even the smallest sounds. It helps in tracking victims much more precisely, with an impressive range. He's hypersensitive to some noises and smells, especially blood because he'll eagerly pursue and locate them in no time so he can get a taste! This is the most used of his abilities as he uses it naturally all the time. And it's the most useful of all as it helps him move around in general and stay alert while hunting.
He can vanish behind his cloak and appear to teleport but he's really turning invisible. He can only do it briefly for short seconds at a time though, so he can’t use it to stay hidden, otherwise creeping would be much easier! But he can at least use it as a distraction tactic that confuses his targets. He likes to play games and mess with them by popping up in different places to make them struggle to keep up. And when they're confused and have lost sight of him, he can strike when they’re most vulnerable.
His strength remains prominent as a vampire but he hasn't quite explored the true extent it can go. He finds it very useful for hunting though, as he has yet to fail a catch as they're no match. Once he latches onto his victims, there's a very little chance of them escaping. And they're fools to think they can run once they spot him, because he also still has his surprising amount of speed. Being chased down a hallway is a nightmare for them because he’s so unbelievably fast! XD
