Just wanted to say the IF is amazing, i just spent 3 days straight binging it and loved every second. Please ignore if it has already been asked but what is all the RO's preferred genre of music? And favourite songs if they have any?

Thank you for the kind words! And I just wanna say, your ask is the final push for me to actually scour through most of my songs on Spotify and finish assembling playlists for Rin, Santana, Skylar, and Jackal 😆 But I had so much fun doing so and I'll keep adding more and updating all of the characters' playlists as I discovered more new (and old lost) songs that fit them.

I have the links to their spotify playlist which contain a mix of their favorite songs and some songs whose lyrics fit them. I don't think I can link too much stuff in one post unfortunately, so I'll make a separate post to announce the rest of the characters playlists later on 😁But I'll try to link one song that either perfectly encapsulate their music taste or whose lyrics fit the character--or at least a song that they'd enjoy listening to.

Also, I basically have to split up my own music taste and favorite genres among all of my characters and I'm running out of genres 😭 But as for your question, I don't think I've answered something like that before--at least not in detail.

Ash enjoys quite a wide variety of genres, but mostly, their go-to are genres that are more energetic and/or aggressive. So, think like Rock, Phonk, Dubstep, Trap, Drum and Bass, Metal, that kind of stuff. But usually, they listen to songs whose vibes and/or lyrics kind of fit the mood they're in at the moment.

Also, fun fact, they did have some kind of an emo phase during their angsty and edgy teenage years 😂 It wasn't really too apparent (like no, they didn't have that typical emo hairstyle or wore those iconic eyeliners), but they just relate to quite a number of the lyrics of songs that can be considered to be emo anthems.

The song that fits the genre they like to listen to and the lyrics also matched their feelings and obsession love for MC is "So Sick" by Johnny Goth.

Rin

As the child of a classically-trained musician, Rin mostly enjoys classical and instrumental music. One of their favorite instruments is the piano and they used to enjoy learning to play it. Maybe in the future, when they won't be so busy anymore, they can pick up their piano lessen again...

Also, they tend to gravitate towards more soothing and calming songs in general because of the headaches they usually got after using their power too much or to see to far into the future. So most of their playlist is filled with instrumental songs, either piano, cello, or violin, or a combination of those.

As for the song that fits them, I'd say "The Belt of Faith" by Jung Jaeil kinda fits their vibe and the gravitas they carry (Yes, the main soundtrack for the film "Parasite" and yeah, I can see the irony 😂 )

All HSR men x s/o!Reader where they accidentally walk in or witness their s/o performing their ass off to a song they love or involve a lot of intense emotion (think songs from Fall Out Boy, Paramore, or from musicals like Hamilton) (they're extremely passionate and emotional as they sing, previously a theater/emo kid vibes who can hit high notes but not whistle notes and do runs and riffs with no problem), but they're too embarrassed and insecure about their voice because they compare themselves to others/an impossible standard.

He walks in and there you are screaming your heart out to a Hamilton song, he can’t help but clap, you’re genuinely really good and fun to watch. He hopes you don’t feel judged or anything because he just wanted to listen in to your singing.

Welt Yang: Welt Yang listens quietly and respectfully while you sing your heart out, until you notice him and stop immediately, shouting “Weltttt…” He encourages you to keep singing, but he doesn’t pressure you or anything. If you want to stop then that’s okay, he’ll respect it, but he does think you have a lovely voice.

Luka: Luka would get so excited listening to you sing that he just can’t help but sing along! He hopes you don’t mind, but you stop singing immediately when you hear him come in. He feels really bad about making you uncomfortable, and he does what he can to make it up to you.

Blade: Blade’s the type who would walk in on you singing your heart out, and then walk right out. You never even notice he’s there. It’s over just like that.

Luocha: Luocha is the type to walk in, smile as he listens to you, and then begin to clap once the performance is over, starting you and alerting you to his presence. As embarrassed as you are, he seemed to like your performance, so that was nice…

Sampo Koski: Sampo’s definitely the type to burst in singing with you. He loves to hear you sing and he loves to sing with you… He hopes you don’t mind that he interrupted your performance, he just wanted to join in on the fun too, hehe…

Gepard Landau: Gepard probably wouldn’t walk in. He will just quietly listen at the door for a moment before returning to his duties, humming the song you were singing to himself as he goes along his way.

Dan Heng: Dan Heng walks in and remains perfectly quiet as you continue performing to an invisible audience. You don’t notice him for an Embarrassingly long time, but when you do spot him watching you, you immediately clam up and the performance ends on a disappointing note. He encourages you to pretend he’s not there and keep singing, but the moment’s over. He enjoyed watching you sing so…passionately. He’s a little disappointed the moment’s over.

Jing Yuan: Jing Yuan is also the type of man who would come in singing with you. He loves the sound of your voice, loves hearing you sing so…passionately…and he thinks by singing along with you he’s encouraging you. But no. You just get embarrassed and stop. He’s a bit disappointed.

Alya still runs the Ladyblog, but it is now called the Scarletblog

she is still as obsessed with SB as she was with LB, not a crush (coz Dj Wifi ftw) and Nino isn’t insecure/doesn’t mind her obsession coz he’s the exact same about Scarlet - I mean who wouldn’t have a celeb crush on him ???

I think I have decided on Marinette and Adrien being besties as civilians, rather than having them being rivals as both superheroes and civilians, and Marinette and Nino are dudebros (they grew up together along with Kim) so i think i’m gonna scrap the “Nino had a crush on Marinette and that lead to Alya and Nino falling in love” coz i think that narrative is stupid asf

Instead that whole episode was Adrien coaching Nino to ask out his crush (Alya) and Marinette using Alya to get info about Nino’s crush who he hasn’t told her about because when she asked, he didn’t spill (Alya was there and he was too nervous) which she obviously found suspicious coz they're supposed to tell each other everything??

Adrien and Marinette get closer after Dj Wifi both had a date planned but their parents want them to babysit their younger siblings so Adrien and Marinette offered to babysit for them

The pair were friends before the evening started, but they left that night as besties due to their similar interests and likes (anime, games, fashion etc)

Julerose canon + power couple + everyone’s otp + lesbians queens (rose is pan tho)

Adrien confirmed emo gay boi (he’s actually bi but he got called this by his friends when he came out as gay to them and told them abt his family, he finds it funny)

He gets called emo bicycle after he comes out as bi (because it’s okay to think ur one label and then realise ur not later on and come out again !!!)

Luka doesn’t care about labelling himself, he just loves who he loves but has his preferences (totally not the author projecting onto him)

Marinette is also bi and she’s known for soooo long - although at one point she was convinced she was lesbian because she thought she should have a crush on either Nino or Kim (coz that’s what society tells her) so young tween Mari came to the conclusion that she must therefore be gay, but then realised that she just thought of Nino and Kim as brothers and couldn’t possibly imagine them in that way (I’m writing this too deep fr, it was never that deep bro)

Gabriel and Tomoe tried to force Adrien and Kagami to be together but when Adrien first met Kagami, and they were alone, he was straight (hah) up with her and told her he had no interests in girls and couldn’t be her boyfriend

Kagami immediately relaxed and told Adrien that she was not interested either, she’s demi- bi/lesbian (idk if i want feigami or not helppp)

So basically from then on they were just a pair of rich kids who hated their capitalist parents and treated every forced date as a hangout between friends to just chat shit and have some fun for once, and Adrien introduced Kagami to his school friends and she and Mari still get close - the three are inseperable

Luka is obviously there from day 1, unlike how he was in the show, and very quickly into the school year his and Juleka’s houseboat became the designated hangout spot for the class

Anarka does not mind, she loves the chaos that these teens bring to her house and she makes it clear to them all that they can come hang out on the boat at any time of the day or night if they need or want

Marinette is often at the boat, Adrien is constantly at the boat after he meets Luka (like 2 weeks into the year) - the difference is tho, Marinette is there for her friend Juleka and Adrien is there for his crush friend Luka

Adrien and Marinette constantly also visit the boat late at night as superheroes because Adrien wants to get away from his house and Marinette finds Luka's guitar playing soothing to her busy whirring mind - they also just want an excuse to chat to Luka

Here's some random headcannons I've thought about Luka for a while

♡ He's not that well liked in his own class and only gets along with a select few at school, and the people he gets along with are the sorts friends you have at school but you don't hang out outside of school if that makes sense?

♡ He's a bisexual king cough cough lukadrien

♡ Also I remember reading a fanfic in a different fandom where they found out their crush was their dad fuck I truly hope Luka didn't have a thing for Jagged yikes

♡ He and Juleka just hang out, paint each others toe nails, dye each others hair, Juleka just uses Luka as a lab rat doing his hair, makeup, maybe even drawing sharpie tattoos on him, but Luka just likes seeing her doing something creative and encouraging her so is more than happy to be said lab rat

♡ Luka respects everybody's music taste, and truly tries to understand every kind of music someone creates/likes even if he isn't partial to it

♡ Anarka raised her twins on the classics; Nirvana, the sex pistols, the cure, the who, Metallica, motley crüe

♡ Both Ju and Luka went through that BVB emo phase, I'm talking full on Andy Sixx makeup, unironically rarw xDing, wearing the billion band wristbands Luka totally still wears some of his

♡ Anarka raised both the twins to live your own life, love who you love, play what's in your heart

♡ Luka has a lot of strong opinions on certain things, and whilst he will always respect and validate someone's different opinion as much as be can he always sticks to his own morals

♡ He's ran from the cops before for getting caught spray painting ACAB under a bridge

♡ His forgiving nature means he automatically trusts everyone and wants to give them a fair chance, so all of the built up frustration and sadness from being neglected by his own father all of those years is buried under a layer of fake happiness, he hides how he truly feels to give his dad a chance but a strong part of him wants to not forgive him as easy but it just isn't Luka's nature

♡ He's fascinated with bugs, he used to collect them as a child and study them, draw them, watch them, eat them

♡ He has a small following on YouTube for posting covers of popular songs, he isn't that big as he isn't regular with uploading as he just does it when he feels like it

♡ Luka's music taste varies it can go from political pop punk like Mindless Self Indulgence, to more hard-core sounding music like Rob Zombie or Slipknot, only to switch to sadboy sound cloud like lil peep, to then soft pop punk like Paramore, then one minute he's sat listening to old Disney playlists, his music taste is so versatile

♡ Luka definitely obsessed with the camp rock movies as a kid, like him and Ju would sing and dance out all the songs together, always on repeat

♡ I like to think Luka is vegetarian just because either he felt kinda bad eating meat, or Mylenne converted him somewhere down the line

♡ Luka always keeps a spare pair of headphones, a spare guitar pic, and a notebook and pen for lyrics, with him at all times

♡ After his break-up with Mari he started writing sad, heartbreak songs, he wasn't trying to be that cringey but it's all that would come out.

♡ He refuses to play them though, because they're that sad that probably even Chloe would shed a tear hearing them, and he would never want Mari to feel guilty for hurting him in such a bad way

I'm gonna split this one into two parts, I'll try my best to do the second part as fast as I can :)

So, Arthur is Emo, Blanche is Temper, Luka is Erymathy, and Stephan is Cramoisi. For Nino I was thinking of either Sonar or Melon (I also considered Blowhole but quickly scrapped it xd), since his hero names focus on the anatomy of animals (Carapace..) or something music related. I don't really have anything for Adrien but probably something like Chit Chat or whatever.

Anyway, I love Temper's hair and wings!! They all turned out a lot better than I thought they would :D

Luka is such a calming presence in Marinette‘s chaotic life and helps her relax when she feels anxious and unsure of herself, always willing to be there for her and offer a helping hand during tough times. Watching a 14 year old 8th grader

Things I have been told/asked:

She showed me EVERY Pokémon and made me judge them and then told me I was wrong about every single one

Why Luka is a better boyfriend than Adrien Agreste (thankfully something I could understand)

Made me explain the entire plot of Steven Universe bc she saw one episode but couldn’t find the rest

That she is in love with a Splatoon character

Explained the full Five Nights at Freddie’s Lore (maybe better than MatPat who, by the way, she has no idea who he is)

Asked me about those Urban Legend Horror games like Bloody Mary and the Elevator game and then proceeded to have to sleep with every light on bc she was scared

Told me she doesn’t swear and doesn’t respect people who swear and that she has cut off friends who swear. I have to apologize every time I accidentally curse because of this.

She had me read 14 pokemon ffs on fanfiction.net to make sure there wasn’t any adult content.

In that same vein told me that she had learned how to use ao3 filters (something I had accidentally taught her how to do last time I watched her)

Asked me if I knew what Dokidoki literature club is and made me read 5 of those fanfictions too to make sure there was no adult content (there obviously was. How she ended up in dokidokiliterature is beyond me. She said it was because she is in love with Monika)

Made me read the ao3 ship stats and then asked me about every single fandom/show etc

Quick rundown of what she said when I explained them: Hannibal “remind me never to watch that”, Harry Potter “no one even cares about Harry Potter. Is Dumbledore gay?”, Supernatural “why are ppl shipping brothers” and then I explained destiel and how he got sent to hell and then she got mad at me for saying Hell, 911 “why does 911 have a fandom? People being hurt isn’t funny” I had to pick around a bit but realized she thought that 911 emergency calls were being made into fanfiction, BTS “who even are these people”, My Hero Academia “an anime? I don’t watch it. Is there any Comiket Communicate in the top ten?”, MCR “what’s that” I showed her some music and mvs “why do people like this it’s weird” to which I explained ppl were emo bc I didn’t know how else to explain and she said “my friend is a tall and skinny emo” and then wandered off

Made fun of me for thinking 53 degrees was cold. (We live in California. It is cold)

A dream she had where her friends are baking cookies but her one friend who she calls her little brother climbed into the oven

The fact that her friend group play house and she is the oldest sister

While roleplaying as a family they also roleplay that they can all turn into Eevees (this is not a one time game. They have done this for three years)

Asked me why there are so many fanfictions about BTS because she doesn’t understand how ppl can ship real people

While I was trying to explain it I accidentally mentioned the Dan and Phil real people shipping problem and she proceeded to ask me about who they are. I tried to be vague but she kept asking questions until I explained their whole online career.

Asked me what Doctor Who was and what he was a Doctor in.

Made me watch Friday Night Funkin modded videos for what felt like six hours and then had me watch her play animal crossing.

Told me that boyfriend from Friday night funkin was not good enough for girlfriend and that girlfriend should be with Sky from the Sky Mod (I don’t know what these words mean but I’m sure I agree)

Explained an Eevee YouTube fanfiction series in its entirety.

Wandered back and forth across the living room in front of me listening to music in headphones breathing incredibly loudly making me incredibly overstimulated (she’s got a cold it’s not her fault)

Explained her entire friend groups sexuality, gender and pronouns, mental illness, and the Eevee evolution they are when the rp.

Btw the first time I met her she asked me if I had ever had a fictional crush, I said yes, and she said “I only have girl fictional crushes” which through her mother for a loop she told me later, not bc she’s homophobic (she’s literally a lesbian) but because she had never met me before and was surprised how open she was around me.

Today proceeded to try to explain the nuances of bisexuality vs pansexualty. She has never been on tumblr or twitter but was definitely aware of the arguments.

Asked me what one direction is

Got mad that I named a character in a Pilot for a college film class after a girl who is her friend at a math tutoring place who I of course have never met and then yelled at me until I changed the name. I didn’t but she doesn’t know that.

Told me I need to vacuum my car. I do.

Handed me a warhead and watched me eat it with the most malicious look on her face as though she was tricking me or something.

Cooked all of her meals by herself, gets up and leaves for school on her own, does all her hw immediately, doesn’t swear, let’s the dog out every morning. Literally the most self sufficient child I have ever met (was able to do all of this three years ago when I started watching her) the only reason I’m here is in case of a freak accident or because she freaks herself out at night at can’t sleep.

Then she puts the pot she used to cook pasta on the floor for the dog to lick up…

round six utterly destroyed my entire being and i need to rant about it.

tills face during the song was heartbreaking, especially since the aliens had previously forced him to sing my clematis and shoved a mizi paper in his face, then bro has to deal with a near-yandere emo boy who he doesnt even want to be near. i hate how much i cried just because of tills voice during the first verse, the vocals were insane

then theres ivan, my favorite character btw, who just FUCKING DIES. and you know the art that qmeng made- the "observation" and "decision" ones? that was huge foreshadowing bcs that was when ivan decided to sacrifice himself(im pretty sure)

its even more depressing when you realize that ivan has no one that cares for him. mizi had sua and now hyuna, till has ivan and mizi, both onesided, but ivan himself doesnt have anyone

there werent any marks on tills neck AND ivan wasnt even putting pressure on his windpipe. and to make it worse, the first thing that till sees when he opens his eyes is a dead ivan with no explaination, till thought he would be dead and that he was losing up until that point

and then theres hyuna who might be dead, sua who had like 3 mins of screen time in total(still sad abt that), and luka vs till in round 7

i hate that i love luka sm bcs his character is just so interesting. i would go on a tangent about him but i dont feel like diving into that rabbit hole rn lol

so after doin that little Lukdrien one shot I came up with another Drabble but this time with Claw Noire.

So adrien still things he’s in love with Marinette despite getting mysterious butterflies around Luka. When he happens to come across Luka he gets a bit red or flustered because he called him nice and Adrien finds it repulsive and nice at the same time so I would like to imagine when he transforms in clawnoire Plagg knowing that his holder is in love decides to mess with him.

so Shadybug and Clawnoire are doing evil stuff and come across Luka and if we’re going off of @ladyblorg AU which I am because it’s beautiful. Shadybug is hesitant to really hurt him because she took him in as an apprentice as emonette so tries playing it off casually.

Emo Adrien wants to get ‘payback’ because Cinnabon Version of Luka is getting insulted and abused by Emonette since he doesn’t have a backbone and Adrien thinks that’s love because some crazy stuff happened to him even though his dad is actually a good person in this universe. But the thing is Plagg ships them so when Claw noire is trying to say we should beat him up to Shadybug he actually starts flirting with Luka because of Plagg’s effects and for some reason he actually likes it.

so there’s this weird love triangle with Luka liking Adrien as a friend but is confused about cat noir.

while Adrien thinks he hates Luka but has feelings deep deep down and Claw noire eventually easing into the flirting started by Plagg’s effects on him and I might even add a Zoe x Marinette in cause why not. Every Emo needs their bi queen
