Vice Dorm Leader Study Date HC

Hello Anon! Sorry for the wait! I wasn’t quite sure what you wanted to see so I tried my best trying cover a lot of ideas OTL If this wasn’t what you wanted, please do request again with what you wish to see!

Trey

· Study dates with Trey are very rare

· He’s always busy due to his responsibilities as vice dorm leader while preparing to becoming a 4th year, so going on dates with you in general isn’t going to happen a lot

· When you do end up going on with him though, he would cherish them and try to make it last as long as possible, trying to catch up on all the missed times with you

· Usually, the study dates happen by Cater (best wingman ever by the way), who ends up stealing Ace, Deuce, and Grim from you on the days you’re supposed to study with them

· Whenever that happens, Trey gets a message with a “U owe me~ ;9” from Cater as said guy drags the “interference” away

· Trey: Cater, you shouldn’t be calling our underclassmen interference... Cater: Eh~ So, are you saying you don’t feel annoyed that they’re spending more time with you-know-who? Trey: …You don’t see me saying it up front now do you

· He would do his best to help you study, teaching you whatever you needed to know - tips, tricks, what topic that would be covered the most on the exam, etc

· Would he try to make you flustered and blush though? Yeah. He thinks you’re adorable when you blush – endearing, cute, someone he wishes to cherish with all his heart

· It’s why he would make passes on you, leaning towards you and brushing shoulders when he sits next to you as he helps explain something you don’t know or purposely having his hand graze yours as he points out something in the textbook or your notes

· Expect to be spoiled with all types of sweets and desserts when with Trey

· Cake? Cookies? Pudding? He would bring all sorts of things for you two to snack on when taking a break and studying, including tea. After all, you’re someone he happens to love so he has to somehow make it obvious one way or another

· Trey has younger siblings. It’s why he naturally wipes the crumbs off your face since it’s habit to do so. Yeah. That’s it. Totally not

· What isn’t natural is when, near the end of the study date, you would either hug or kiss him on the cheek, after finally understanding something or making progress, as thanks

· Covering half of his face, he would turn his face away to hide his red face that could rival Riddle’s hair, trying to tell you he was fine with a small stutter and wavering smile when you ask if he’s okay

· Now if only you would realize said study dates were actually dates and he likes you…

Ruggie

· Like Trey, Ruggie is a busy man. Busy doing Leona’s orders while chasing after all the money and food he could possibly get, so having study dates with him are also rare

· In fact, the percent of having study dates with him are lower than Trey’s because of how much work he’ll be forced to deal with

· It’s why, the only times he would be able to go on study dates with you are when you come visit Savanaclaw once every blue moon

· Most often you would come over because of Jack, whether it’s to just hang out, give him a memo, whatnot

· The thing is though, whenever you come over, you end up meeting Jack a bit later because something would always come up right when he’s about to meet you

· And it’s totally not suspicious that it happens whenever Ruggie is coming back to the dorms. 100% true.

· Don’t worry about Jack by the way. It so happens that a certain dorm leader kidnapped said wolf because he happens to be a good wingman when he’s bored

· Also, he’s running low on blackmail on Ruggie. Might as well get a refill when he can

· When seeing you alone at the entrance either being bothered by the other dorm members or looking bored, Ruggie ends up taking you to the lounge and chat with you

· The conversation always school orientated with school work and teachers coming up

· While you’re in the middle of complaining about Trein and Crewel again over their ridiculous assignments (like seriously, what’s so important about hair-color changing potions again? And what about the history of the school’s chandelier, is this shade???), Ruggie teases you about not being able to do something “as easy as that”

· He does his best to hide his soft side towards you when you sulk about it, seeing it as you pouting. Which is adorable and cute in his eyes and he loves seeing it

· Just as you’re about to get up and leave from getting annoyed, Ruggie quickly offers you his help on your assignments despite saying it in a teasing tone

· Yes, he likes to troll with people a lot but he can be serious when he wants to, evidently seen when he helps you through the questions

· His explanations aren’t great, yet he doesn’t give up trying to get you to understand and solve the questions

· Will he tease you while explaining? Yes. Will he snicker at you and give his infamous infuriating cute smirk? Yes.

· In the end, the assignment still gets done along with you feeling better with the concepts you weren’t so sure of thanks to him

· It’s his turn to blush as you give him a surprise hug, ending up covering his face with both hands and sigh once you let go

· As this happens, a certain lion continues to film the whole thing while covering the mouth of his “precious” kouhai with a smirk on his face. He’s not sorry when he shows it to Ruggie by the way.

Jade

· Having study dates with Jade happens more frequently than Ruggie and Trey’s solely because Jade would make sure he has one with you

· By that, he means using the pretext of having to “tutor” you per request by one of the staffs to get to go on one with you

· He will proudly say it’s his favorite excuse to use against Azul and Floyd since they wouldn’t be able to bother him nor interfere when he’s trying to spend some time with you

· Yes, he enjoys hanging around them for entertainment but he has his own limits too. Plus, he wouldn’t have to use….some other methods to get them off his back though he wouldn’t hesitate to do so if they interfere (cough blackmail cough)

· Studying with Jade is difficult no thanks to how much he enjoys teasing you

· He’ll be kind, polite, and courteous but he’ll do everything he can to get to see you blush

· Brushing shoulders and hands “incidentally” is nothing compared to the times he explicitly makes a move on you like gently cupping your hand whenever he takes your pencil so he could write some helpful notes in your notebook or sitting really close to you in general

· The worst part is how he’s actually good at teaching you with whatever you’re struggling with

· Makes good analogies, explains things thorough enough for you to grasp the foundation, surprisingly writes neatly and draw good diagrams – he truly lives up to his position as one of Azul’s hands and vice dorm leader

· That along with the fact he would be providing hospitability such as teas and snacks that you enjoy definitely makes him seem like a kind gentleman

· He enjoys teasing you during the whole time, having fun with your reactions his favorite other than seeing you blush being you being annoyed

· Just needs to shade here and there to get a good grasp and push your buttons only to get amused in the end from seeing you huff and pout or chuckle at any smart remarks you make towards him

· However, when you give him one your softest, genuine smile or initiate any physical contact yourself, it’s going to be his turn to blush and perhaps even tsun a bit

· Will go wide eyes at first with cheeks dust pink to turning lobster-red if you point it out while covering half his face and look away a bit

· Hugging is a whole different story though where you would be very successfully into getting Jade to go “Jade. exe has stopped working” after surprising him with one once you finally understand and get whatever you were confused with and do it out of happiness

· Once the date ends, he’ll show you out before going back into the dorm and find Azul and Floyd who he knew was spying during the whole thing

· He finds all the photos they took of him blushing and either would burn them or delete the files if saved on phone or PC

· He does secretly keep the ones that includes you looking happy or being close to him

Jamil

· Study dates with Jamil happens a good amount of time thanks to Kalim who makes sure it happens

· By that, literally Kalim would get everyone in Scarabia to help out but that’s another story for another time

· Out of all the vice dorm leaders, he’s the one that takes the study date seriously

· Wouldn’t really strike up a conversation because he would be focused on trying to get as much done as possible no thanks to how he’s busy in general

· That being said, most of the time would be more studying orientated

· Jamil would be attentive and help you with anything you need help with, going over them and making sure you get at least the foundations solid

· His explanation and tutoring skills are nearly par to Trey’s probably because of his many years of experience with Kalim, his sibling, and now, the other dorm members

· So, the idea of teasing you wouldn’t come up initially. Keyword: Initially

· Just because he’s focused on studying doesn’t mean he isn’t aware of his surroundings and other’s behaviors, especially yours

· He’s aware his attraction towards you is very much mutual since he practically caught you who-knows-how-many-times you looked at him, only to blush and stutter whenever he asks if there’s a problem

· Cue the teasing like the rest but unlike the other three above, his is more subtle

· He’ll be testing the water- see how far he can go with teasing you

· He honestly enjoys how you’re trying to keep a straight face, all cool and collected when he sits next to you to the point only a pencil case would slip through the space between you two

· Acting innocent and nonchalant, Jamil struggles to not smirk when he sees your ears turn red and the corner of your lips twitch

· Totally would pull “face too close for comfort” on you when he finds you getting distracted from whatever he explains something to you

· It would only happen once and never again though during the next few study dates since he’ll realize he nearly lost his self-control when he unconsciously and nearly closed the gap between the two of you

· What do you mean you heard him click his tongue? He did no such thing. It’s not like he was disappointed or anything because he wanted to-

· When you hug him, he’s not going to be calm. Whatsoever

· Pulls his head over his head and tells you not to come near him as he pulls his hoodie’s strings and try to cover his face completely

· This is when Kalim comes out of his hiding place and tries to get Jamil to calm down while telling you that he was “just passing by” when you ask where he came from

· It isn’t until he’s back at his room does he start calming down only to drag his hands down his face from realizing he messed up on trying to look cool around you

· Kalim: You like them that badly, huh~ Jamil: Shut up

Rook

· Study dates with Rook is bad for your heart. Not because he does weird things to you or anything. It’s just that…he’s rather direct. Very direct

· Although he does an excellent job teaching you, he doesn’t hide his attraction towards you at all

· Calls you all sorts of endearment without any shame when you come over to Pomefiore to have the study date with him: mon cœur, mon chéri, mamour, and more

· Like with everyone else he takes interests in, he very much likes to look at you. Even though it’ll distract you, he’s genuinely happy and in bliss getting to spend time with you

· To him, getting to see the you studying with such calmness makes him think you look absolutely enchanting, loving to see you putting effort and trying your best

· Despite being a hunter, he isn’t aware how you tend to look at him when he’s focused though nor does he know that you like seeing his serious side

· …and you probably shouldn’t since the minute he realizes this he probably would take advantage of it and cause you more problems down the road

· He spoils you a lot, mostly because he wishes to see you happy. Meaning, he would prepare all sorts of things to make sure you’re feeling comfy and happy when you’re with him

· In all seriousness though, he does education justice when he’s the one tutoring/teaching you

· Goes over everything thoroughly to the point where he would continue practicing and quizzing you until he knows you actually understand everything

· Every time you get something right, he praises you a lot to the point you would probably feel bashful

· When you’re feeling down or frustrated from the fact you can’t understand something or from anything in general, Rook is the one who’ll realize it first which often leads to him being the one to make you feel better in a short amount of time through words of encouragement

· In fact, he’s one of the two people who would be the best comforter of the vice dorm leaders

· By that, he’s the one you would probably pour your heart to without worries and end up feeling better after every single study date

· Hugging can go two ways with Rook

· When he senses you about to hug him (happens 90% of the time btw), he’ll hug you back with the same amount of excitement. He wouldn’t let go after you realize what you’ve done out of pure instinct and would instead hug you tighter while your face burns in his arms

· When you catch him off guard, he’ll freeze and blush, completely not expecting it. Probably would be his first time ever getting flustered too as he tries to quickly recover once you let go of him

Lilia

· Study dates with Lilia is more like a hang out than anything else

· He literally will pull the “immortal-being” card, where he’ll look over your shoulder and see what you’re doing before going on a long story-time telling of how each theorem, principle, historical event, etc. was discovered when he was whatever age-old at the time

· When dealing with assignments, he would complain about doing them, muttering along the lines of “back when I was in school, we didn’t have to do these”, “kids aren’t going to even use what they learned in real life”, and so on

· Don’t expect him to even attempt to study. He would ask you why he would ever need to when he lived who-knows-how many years and being at all those events that took place

· With all of that being said, you would think it would be impossible to get anything done, doing a great job distracting you especially when he just name drops a famous historical person and tells you the guy/gal’s life from baby to adult all in one go

· “That kid used to be so cute, as expected they would end up being this great”, “What’s this nonsense? How did that brat even did that when they couldn’t even answer 1+1 correctly”-

· However, when you try to study and start struggling, he would always help you

· There’s going to be teasing and he is very bold about it

· When you stifle a laugh from his stories, he sulks first only to kabedon you in your chair

· Leaning closer to you, he’ll ask whether you’ll take him seriousness now, gently holding your chin so you wouldn’t be able to look away

· He does end up letting you go with a smirk, giving you some space and time to get over what had happened in less than a minute, thinking that you looking like a deer caught in headlights with a bright blush made you look extremely adorable

· It’s not shocking that he teaches you well, especially when he’s the one that taught Sebek, Silver, and Malleus. How? He’ll never tell you how but the look their faces when you ask them makes you decide not to think about it further

· Lilia also happens to be the other greatest comforter, probably even better than Rook

· It’s because he raised three children on his own, he’s able to pick up any stress or sense the struggle you’re having when you do your assignments or studying before you say anything about it

· When it happens, he has you take a break on studying and lends you an ear, making sure you say everything that’s in your chest since he knows you’ll be needing it

· By the time he’s done helping you and you hug him out of gratefulness, he’ll be surprised and widen his eyes at first

· He does quickly recover and hugs you back with a satisfied smile, rather seeing you happy and filled with joy than anything else

· And it’s obvious that’s the case since once you leave, Malleus, Silver, and Sebek would ask him if anything good happened

3. Favorite Act? Why? (Mechanics, aesthetic, story, specific moments, etc.)

who am i to deny act 1. played that one most out of all of them, not to mention that i played kaycee's mod like a madman (finally got an all challenges run to succeed OTL). it's just *fun* gameplay. my first go around i made absolutely *boosted* deathcards, and being able to watch them decimate was fun in of itself. and now i'm playing it with only one deathcard, and planning your deck ahead of time and figuring out how to win without a near-guaranteed turn 1 lethal is fantastic as well. and looking back on it in act 2 shows what leshy incorporated from the original game, and what he didn't. some of the dialogue especially from leshy, and also the other scrybes, in this act... im *specifically* thinking about the win dialogue you get from leshy on win 3 and win 4.

4. Favorite Scrybe?

i wonder...... nah it's leshy lmao. especially love how he narrates everything, like in act 2 after his defeat. oh, to get/become a dm as devoted to the craft as him

5. Favorite non-scrybe npc?

(is it cheating to say the archivist) (they're an uberbot. that's not a scrybe.) (i may be cheating just a little when that's p03's interpretation of grimora) (but they're neat. their lines... nice. i think p03 did a good job capturing grimora's voice and cadence and lexicon. and that battle was fun) (also the photographer. much more a bastardization of leshy imo, but that is also fun. to see how p03 sees leshy)

BUT if i had to do non-scrybe-but-reskinned. mayhaps goobert? a funny little guy... someone please help them

7. Favorite theory/theories?

i don't know if this one is a theory - it might be confirmed in game and i just. glanced over it. but if it isn't - i firmly believe that magnificus knew how it all would turn out. this includes leshy losing control, p03 gaining it, and grimora's deletion of the game. and it may be a first instinct to go "why didn't he try to stop it then?" but his premonition may be unchangeable - perhaps in the past he's tried to change the outcome he saw, to no avail. and in the visions we're given in act 1 where magnificus paints the next thing we need to do (eg. unlocking the safe, the knife, the cuckoo clock with the film reel), we're in a white void with a little bit of wood(?) ground. just like what we see in act 3's finale.

does this explain how he treats his subordinates? idk lol.

8. Favorite headcanon(s)?

this is not really a *headcanon* but my head is empty, and this fic is very very good. so this interpretation: "THAT IS ULTIMATELY THE CALLING OF A SCRYBE. NOT TO CREATE, NO- TO HOPELESSLY, LOVINGLY POSTPONE THE INEVITABLE." (from @scrybe-of-beasts fic AN ENDING. absolutely fantastic btw it owns my heart defo read it if you haven't already.) leshy captures beasts, who would otherwise die eventually, and lets them live and die repeatedly as cards. grimora raises the dead. magnificus paints his students, immortalizing them. and p03 scans its bots. and the end of the game is seeing them realize (or, on grimora's part, having already accepted) that they cannot postpone the inevitable (specifically magnificus's "Nothing beautiful can last.")

I haven't read Reanimate, but I'm curious as to why you grew to hate the original take on it so much, to the point you chose to revamp it? What things did you change then? Most authors I know wouldn't necessarily bother doing such a big rewrite(?) So I'm also curious why you chose to go ahead anyway. I hope my questions aren't bothersome or anything, I'm just curious like said! Keep up the good work!

Ah, I guess it might be a bit unusual for somebody to re-write parts of a fic so much while not completely starting from scratch? Especially fic that is already some years old. (or maybe it does happen commonly, IDK honestly haha)

Well, the main reason why I chose to revamp the second half of the fic instead of maybe rewriting the whole thing, was because the first half was totally fine for me. It was just the league parts I disliked, and the same time I still really loved Reanimate's story as a whole, hence I ended up doing a partial revamp instead of full rewrite. (also I guess I had a lot of time in my hands at the time heh)

(Also that fic was my first ever on the fandom meaning it's nostalgic, and served as an origin story for my favorite bnha oc's, so I wanted to make sure I was happy with it)

But yeah, to go more into detail about why I disliked the league portrayal, as well as what I did with my character in the story (this is gonna be a long explanation so please bear with me lmao) ;

Tomura's portayal felt too much like being stuck in his first impression, when timing vise he should already have matured quite a bit

His interactions with the league, albeit kinda funny, also felt too OOC at this point. He was acting too childish for what I wanted/the point in time the fic takes place at

Basically I felt he was too much of a manchild when at this point in time he's already matured quite a bit in canon (and some more in the fic au given it's timed some years AFTER canonical timeline)

In Kain's case, I kinda got too stuck on his source of inspiration (a horror game villain) and made him too one-dimensional and creepy from what I really wanted to do. He's very stoic and cold yes, but not THAT level of psychotic.

I basically felt Kain needed more nuance and humanity, because including an oc in a fic was ALREADY kind of tricky, so I wanted to make absolutely sure I actually liked what I wrote with them, and that it's of good enough quality to not feel too jarring and out-of-place among the canonical characters. (of course how well I managed to do that is up to the reader)

Kain's original take didn't really work for how I wanted it to affect the civilian Tenko. He was too, well, monstrous/felt nonhuman even as a kid for what I really needed. I needed him to be somebody Tenko could kinda sympathize with/someone who could sympathize with Tenko. My original take kinda failed miserably at that OTL

To go back to Shigaraki, he was also being too harsh/mean to his friends. Basically everything about his portrayal lowkey sucked for me lmao

As for more detail about the changes...well there's too much to describe, but for Tomura and others the biggest change was with their interactions; Tomura is still jumpy and snarky, but less so. Also while his friends do goof around and tease him like in the original, they turn serious as soon as he leaves, discussing and mulling over why he's acting so strange. Tomura also has picked up on the fact he feels "off" in some way, and wonders why he's acting so freaked out all the time/seems to struggle to think straight. (the reason for this is part of the revised plot)

There are two significantly changed scenes in mind though that I could mention, as they have a big impact on the narrative in a way;

First one is the flashback Tenko has about his time kidnapped by Kain's dad. The moment where Kain ends up killing bunch of people working (unwillingly) for his father. In original version Kain kills them on purpose, because their terrified/traumatized thoughts were causing him mental strain. While this latter is still the case, in the new take on the scene Kain does it accidentally, as he loses control of his quirk. This change was highly important IMO, because it shows better why Tenko might've sympathized with him, and tried to convince Kain to come with him and All Might later when Tenko was being rescued. It also better establishes that Kain's not some inhuman evil/creepy horror villain, but more typical origin story for a BNHA villain. Basically what I originally wanted out of his character, but failed to do lmao

Second one is at the end, when the league are taking their leave. This deals more with the foreshadowing for Reclaimed, but basically in the original Tenko gives bad Dabs something to use potentially to take Kain down if he plots something. Given I completely changed my mind about his potential role in the follow-up story later, the new version of the scene has Tenko telling bad Dabs to consider if AFO really has his student's wellbeing in mind. (this will be relevant later in reclaimed as one of the things pushing Dabi to question Tomura about this, and eventually having an effect on Tomura as well, further helping him break free from AFO's mental influence)

Sooo...yeah. I know this is a long-winded explanation, but I couldn't really explain this in simpler terms as the reasoning was quite complicated in a way? I just felt like it could be better with just some minor tweaks, instead of needing to rewrite it completely, and it bothered me too much to not do anything about it lmao. I hope this did satisfy your curiosity about this whole deal and didn't confuse you too much!

(Side note: I probably won't bother doing anything like this with any other fic of mine ever again, the closest I could consider is Soul Duality, but the issue with that is I can't pinpoint exactly what my issue with it is. It just feels like something that has potential and good parts, but ended up kind of messy somehow.)

Also sorry for my absence ;w; I don’t come around to Tumblr as much since the ban;;; And a lot of art lately has not been focused on sfw stuff, so it’s a bit hard to be here at all. Either way though, I do appreciate the fact people still follow this account ;w; Currently working on Sabers as much as I can and am at the halfway point with colors... Depending on how fast I can be, hopefully Sabers can update sometime in late June/Early July. OTL

About Mercier and Shimo : Verrrry old ocs that I've had longer than I've had Noel but just around the same age. My boys Shimo and Mercier are very personal babies that I've kept with me since middle/high school. They've changed a lot since then and so have their stories, so bear with me when I type it all out ;v;

Starting with Mercier (His nickname is 'Ion' so just remember that lol), he's somewhat of a typical case of 'straight A student becomes a rebellious wild case' due to a number of things in his upbringing that caused a huge change in personality. Though he's blunt, brash and overall rude, he's got a good heart when it counts for people he cares about. But being someone that is a loooot more destructive than most of my OCs, Ion dabbles in really shitty friend circles that promote shitty behavior. He thinks himself to be garbage and doesn't really wanna change, but his better friends (his best friend and roommate, Zadoc, and a couple other bros, which includes Shimo), all keep him from ultimately doing the worst kind of shit he possibly can. He can't technically 'die' due to a rapid healing ability of his (which he negatively exploits for fun), so there's a lot less care for himself in a lot of his actions.

Shimo on the other hand, likes to think he's very different from Mercier. They're both very sure they're stark opposites but it's more in how they carry themselves. Shimo is a lot less of a blunt asshole, and tends to keep his actual emotions to himself. He's used to unwarranted attention so he puts on smiles a lot. It also comes at the cost of his own ability of reading minds, which he honestly hates. Having that chance of knowing people's true intentions or emotions and hearing them openly lie about it, whether it's for the best or not really irks Shimo in a bad way. He too is exactly like that and he's just not okay with it. Honesty is very important to him and for that he kind of admires Mercier for being so blunt about everything (vice versa, Mercier is jealous that Shimo can keep his emotions and issues to himself). It also doesn't help that having albinism has brought very unwanted attention from a male teacher that has acted on very damaging thoughts to which Shimo has suffered abuse from that. So he and Mercier can relate with one another on these shared experiences that they mostly talk to each other about. It's the one connecting tissue that brings these two together as friends as they used to hate one another due to Mercier's brash personality.

Both boys come to a place of admiration of one another, though there's a lot of rough patches thanks to Ion being so openly shitty to Shimo from time to time. They're basically the trope of 'two dudes that hate each other but are more alike than they want to admit'. They come together at some point and Shimo dates the girl Mercier used to like lol. It's not a scummy sort of way, they just liked the same girl and she picked Shimo. Mercier gets his own gf who also fits his high libido later on... but that's after he goes through his really bad and really horrible womanizing stage from partying all the time. Mercier is a hypersexual boy who uses sex and alcohol to cope with his problems;;;

These two have... a lot of history... and a few of my last surviving straight boys LOL. I love them so much, it's taken me a long while to feel anything motivating me to draw them again ;o; <3

About Kai : Mercier's family consists of his parents, his brother Kai and his adopted sister Nasome (Na-So-May). They're kind of dysfunctional, with most issues consisting with Mercier and his parents. Kai here is a bit more timid than his older brother. He and his sister are very close. Though he really admires Mercier in many ways, there's a part of him that also feels a bit embarrassed over his actions. Mercier ain't perfect of course, and he tends to act out a lot and argue with their mother a lot as she seems to be the one that tries to drive him out of the house... to which Kai is caught in between being on his parent's side, or being on Mercier's. When he was younger he ofc, would choose his parents but nowadays, he's come to realize his parents play favorites (Kai mainly being the fav and overprotected one because their mom doesn't want him to end up like Mercier). He becomes a bit more critical of his folks as he gets older and starts to sympathize more with his older brother when coming to fully understand the reasons as to why he became so wild in the first place. The days when their uncle would come watch them and Mercier would be warded off elsewhere with the older man, at the time, never made sense till recently (Kai didn't understand what was happening;;;; ). These days though, Kai is a little more open to bringing Mercier into the house late at night cuz he misses his brother. Him and Nasome tend to visit him at his shitty apartment lol. But otherwise, Kai's takin care of his pet rabbit and hanging with his parents. He's got some personality hang ups i need to figure out tho ;w; <3

1. Tell us about your current project(s) – what’s it about, how’s progress, what do you love most about it?

But alright, let’s narrow down to more recent ones! One is my Braime fic exchange fic, which I cannot speak much about, other than if it doesn’t break me, it could turn out great. And my longest work yet!

The other is DYSTOD, the third chapter of which I already have 1.5k words down and if I hadn’t been so set on working on my Braime fic exchange fic, I might’ve already finished. oTL It has gotten a whole lot of revision, but I am happy with outline (never have had a multichapter with more than 1 chapter published, and definitely not as solid outline). I definitely like that about it and I miss the story itself, I truly do, it was oddly hard and comforting to write at the same time.

I also have decent bits of written from a Long Night re-write where Jaime’s act of selflessness plays a major role. And a vaguely Dragon Age x GOT mashup that I’m excited to come back to! (So, basically 2 apocalyptic AUs, both in canon-like verses, but one is actually canon-ish and other is not). I am really excited to explore something yearning, yet plot driven, yet contained (hopefully) with them.

And there’s second part to both I (don’t) want to be out of this dream (forever) from Jaime’s POV later into the Soulmate/Arranged marriage verse! And the modern soulmate verse part 2, from Brienne’s POV. I am big, big sucker for exploring different POVs and where their sights overlap and what they miss entirely. Plus, both pieces would let me complete just a bit more of the bigger picture.

I’ve not forgotten the Makeup verse, either!! There’s solid progress on part 3, which was actually written first of all, and I love it very much, it’s something that was unique for me to write at the time (unique in my fictography, that is) and I am very, very attached to the verse, the nuances that I think friends to lovers ought to have in some ways, the whole world of it!

8. Is what you like to write the same as what you like to read?

I am not a picky reader... At least not too much! Still, not everything will brand itself in me. I definitely have preference for pieces that manage to punch me somehow with emotional line, some yearning and tenderness, and caring. The self loathing and catching a glimpse of how loved you are, marveling at it and the fear it will be lost any minute now. Basically, give me the complexity and sometimes the sheer paradox of human emotions, thriving on their own or in interaction with someone else, and I will love it. Write those fics that make me feel things, consider something new about a character, depict emotions that you feel alone in feeling almost and make me feel home and Seen, and I will love it.

And while it’s a bold claim to say that’s what I write, I think it’s some shades of what can be found in my writing and what comes to me most naturally. Those little crystallized pieces of thoughts about characters (Brienne being perceived as responsible and stalwart, whereas she feels anything but, for example), the pining and the yearning. I don’t try to be particularly Unique in my Takes, just honest in my view and in my depiction of emotions.

Another thing - exploring characters through various AUs, to see what makes them them and what makes them tick, how a shifted canon event would change them in a shifted way, yet not that different, etc. I do love to write that, just like I love to read it.

20. Tell us the meta about your writing that you really want to ramble to people about (symbolism you’ve included, character or relationship development that you love, hidden references, callbacks or clues for future scenes?)

.. I really really love artist Brienne. There are several AUs (of which, so far, only one has seen light of day, sadly) that are based around this concept. And I think it’s very symbolic for these verses in general, her reclaiming a sort of creative/gentler space while still coming to terms with her physical strength and valuing it, and sometimes even finding a creative use for it. It usually sets her in a different emotional space overall, than the verses where she’s other career focused, though the end journey is the same, it’s just that she has approached it a bit differently and some parts of the mountain road have been harder, while others easier, whereas different life path makes other bits easier.

Also, actual recurring symbolism and callback in my stories!

In If I’m gonna (lose) love someone, Jaime compares her (them both) to a fortresses and how he wants to live in hers and she has said that she’s someone who goes to war, not someone for whom wars will be fought, romantically, or someone that will ride for days just to hear and hold. (And then he does just that.)

There is a rather direct callback to that in DYSTOD, when Jaime asks why she’d rather be a knight than a maid in a song and she tells him no one would’ve ever gone to war for her. And then he goes to think of her as fortress he doesn’t wish to conquer, but set campaign on to win over. I don’t think anyone picked on that, and I can’t blame them because it’s such a Braime imagery, but secretly, I wrote this with no small amount of glee and with Soulmate/Arrange marriage verse specifically in mind. Especially since both verses basically include ‘fake relationship but by gods I (we) wish it was real’ and Jaime is in it for slow, but cautious long haul.

Maybe soulmate marks aren’t a thing in modern world ascending from Soulmate/Arranged marriage verse and they’re finding echoes of words that feel Familiar? Who knows. :’)

In less intentional way, Brienne thinks of herself as fortress in We draw a line in the sand, a fortress that wants to let him in, almost openly asks him for a reason to let down the drawbridge, but he fails to do so in the situation. If I didn’t feel it was too repetitive, I’d actually like to repeat the motif, the way he thinks of her as castle versus herself and her want to allow him in, and also to explore more how he is willing to step out of his own keep to move into hers... And how sometimes they might need to meet on the road in the middle.

Exo’s performances at MAMA

I’ve always found that Exo’s performances at the Mnet Asian Music Awards were really iconic, and it’s been something I’ve looked forward to every year. I made a list of all their performances with the year, title and components of each performance, because I knew I wanted to make an edit (or, well, several edits) of them. One vague idea I had was to make it like a sketch in a notebook with all the details, so it would look like it was a plan/concept for the performance, kind of like a storyboard. I would have probably really overcomplicated that, so I went with something else.

2012: Time Loop 2012

At first I wanted to do the same template for every performance. I wanted to highlight memorable moments from each performance, so this is what I came up with originally:

Now I look at it and I’m just not feeling it, but when I first made it I really thought it was awful. I thought a bit more about the performance, and the theme of it. Since it’s called Time Loop 2012, and they’re performing older song and “reversing time” so to speak, I decided to go with a VCR/glitch effect. I had actually done a test of this kind of effect a few weeks prior and I really liked it:

I think the test gif looks a lot better than the final edit (why does this always happen oTL)

The RGB split is done by using differently scaled copies of the image/gif and using the blending options. The glitch effect is done by using the wave filter on a few frames. The lines are added with a halftone pattern, and then I added some grain/noise as well. I think I followed one of the methods shown in this tutorial.

This one is based on the VCR shown at the beginning of the performance. It was kind of like a silent film with its captions (except it wasn’t silent.) So I wanted to go with that concept and make it look like an old film. This one was quite fun to do, adding little tweaks and stuff. I really wanted to use the same font as the one in the VCR. I tried several of those font identifier sites, googled silent movie fonts, and went through font categories that it could fit in, but I could not for the life of me find it. I got so frustrated and almost used a different font, but then somehow I found it (I literally don’t even remember how, but I was so glad I did.)

2014: The New Age of Exo

Something I really remember and love about this performance is how different the stage for every segment was. With every song, the staging and the lighting transports you somewhere else, and I wanted that to come through in the edit. I chose the font because it reminded me of the outlines of the boxes at the beginning of the performance. I really liked the paper and watercolor effect I did for the January 2017 edit, so I had been wanting to use the effect for a different edit as well, and I thought it worked well for this. Instead of using white paper as a background I drew from the dominant color of each stage. I did try it with white paper, but I didn’t find it as immersive:

This is my favorite out of the edits, because it’s closer to what I had envisioned these edits to be in my head. I especially like how the Deep Breath one turned out.

2015: Light of Planet

I went with a neon theme, inspired by the title of the performance, the pink neon lighting in the Call Me Baby VCR, the lightsabers and the LCD panels or whatever it is on the stage right before the performance started and everything was dark. I made the font bigger this time, because it didn’t have the same effect when I just put it at the top left corner. With neon it’s kind of like go big or go home. For Call Me Baby and Lightsaber I blended different parts of the performances together. They turned out good. The Drop That and Love Me Right gifs aren’t that great. Lightsaber turned out the best, I felt really satisfied with it.

2016: The Sacrifice

This gave off a futuristic dystopian vibe. I had been font hunting prior to making these edits, so I found ones that fit quite easily. (This one gets bonus point for being called Exodus). At first I thought of making a gif of each member for the VCR and then putting it into one gif, but since there isn’t much movement and I wanted to include something other than their faces as well, I just took a few frames for each member. Kyungsoo and Lay weren’t in the VCR, sadly. The Kai & Sehun gif is actually just one long sequence, but of course it had way too many frames, so I divided it into three separate ones and just put them next to each other. Baekhyun’s solo was difficult to do. When you watch the performance... it’s not super enjoyable to watch, because the lighting and the angles are so bad you can’t really see anything. I think Baekhyun mentioned being upset about it too on his instagram. He had this whole mechanical heart going that really gave much more purpose to the performance, but you couldn’t see it at all. They really did him dirty.

2017: The Force Of The Planet

With the theme and the “Kinetic Performance” as Mnet likes to call it, I wanted to use a font that was inspired by constellations. I almost used a different one, but the other one felt almost too whimsical and was more difficult to read. Maybe I can use it in a different edit some time. The font looked better when it was bigger, but I didn’t want it to distract from the performance too much, so I set it on overlay or soft light, whichever worked better for each gif and then duplicated it as needed, so it would be more prominent. I added a shadow to it to make it stand out from the background a bit more. For the title gif I colored the font using the colors of the planets (?) above them. It looks a little bit... cheesy. For Power I wanted to use two different parts. Since the light goes down and you just see their silhouettes at the ending, I tried blending the other part I wanted to use into that, which kiiiind of worked.

Overall these edits weren’t exactly what I imagined. It became more of an experimentation of different fonts and effects. The 2014 one was the closest to what I wanted to do.

I JUST..... I JUST REALLY MISS MY OLD DIGIMON OC......

I don’t even know if anyone here would recognize her at all (other than maybe a certain Kari!) bUT..... well, this was actually my old Digimon OC, Hikaru! Many years back, I had one of those Digimon “FDD” (Fictional Digidestined & Digimon!) websites, and it was young me’s pride and joy, my first website that I made all on my own ;3;/ ;3;/ Complete with low quality graphics, comic sans ms, script based roleplays, and Digimon and anime midis galore! (A-ahaha.)

Although, back then I had pretty much zero ability when it came to actual art (I was always more of a writer, orz) and so her look ended up being basically “inspired” (read as: ripoff) of adult!Hikari but with a teenager look, and the story took a huuuge amount of “inspiration” (read as: tropes) from Sailor Moon too (also The Legend of Zelda), a-ahaha. OTL. Her Digimon (twin Digimon ala Wallace’s) were also obviously Chibimon/DemiVeemon recolors (DemiSilveemon and DemiGoldveemon, respectively. I didn’t even have to create an evolution for DemiGoldveemon because he’d basically become Goldveedramon, an actual Digimon!, while “Silveemon” became “Silveedramon”, a-ahaha. So original, I know.)

Regardless, they still have a very special place in my heart and I wish I had the energy to do a complete overhaul of her story nowadays (and actually finish it - I only ever managed to write through the second story arc out of like... eight-nine which was also to have a huge sprawling amount of story arcs after, which I had detailed in extremely lengthy “spoiler” summaries back then pffft - also, it was all to eventually tie into a story arc covering the epilogue and extending the story of that.) Unfortunately, my drive to do so has kind of dried up o-orz...

B-But now that I’m much older, I’m kinda sorta thinking about redesigning her at the least?? I’m super into Japanese fashion now (!!) and would really love to give her a redesign with like.... a very pretty classic styled one-piece, long A-line dress with a petticoat, maybe in a dusty pink color, with cute ruffles and embroidery, white sleeve cuffs?? and probably either neckties and/or (detachable, for look variety!) long sleeves. MAYBE SHE’D EVEN HAVE HER OWN HUGE WARDROBE OF VARIOUS ADORABLE DRESSES ALA CARDCAPTOR SAKURA/CLAMP it’s a nice thought anyway to at least redesign her main outfit in mind, even if I can’t create art for it, aha...!! ;3;/ (ALSO would change her hair color so it’d be less like Hikari’s [which was intended at the time for story purposes/tropes/etc.], though it was still a slightly darker brown - it’d probably be a bit more wavier/curlier too, and something like an even darker brown [deep brown?? nOT JUST BC OF MY OWN HAIR A-AHA....] (possibly also with bits of red through it!!)... at the time she was also created with no set eye color aside from (a darker) blue in mind; maaaybe she could have something like hazel eyes now? which could probably make up for that with the “color changing” hA ALSO SHE WAS MIXED/MULTIRACIAL/MULTIETHNIC ASIAN/JAPANESE-AMERICAN [+OTHERS] SO THERE WAS THAT YEAH!!)

Her Crest was actually the Crest of Faith, since I figured Jou’s Japanese crest’s name could also translate to “Honesty” (maybe even remain “Reliability” still, idek, which I thought was still perfect for Jou) and ‘Faith’ as a trait just held a very personal meaning to young me at the time ;3;/ (Basically never giving up, believing in yourself, etc.!! SHOUNEN/SHOUJO MOTIVATION) Though the image here didn’t quite portray the crest as I would have liked, I did want the imagery to involve a stylized crescent moon symbol and a star (probably now with it hanging outside of the moon somewhere though, not inside....), and the color to be dark pink (which would have also been the color of her D3) [it also had gold and silver buttons because of the two Digimon]. It’d be nice to try and re-design that too somehow ;3;/

All of the art here (sans #4, edited by young me a-aha) was made by request, and I’m to this day, forever grateful to the artists: Skye G. (#1 and the adorable emote!), Kari Avalon (#2), Tiara/Chiara (#3), Alana D. (#5-6), and Jennifer M. (#7)!! If any of you somehow happen to read this, thank you so much again (and for putting up with young me, o-orz)!! (I hope you’re all doing well today too....!!) ;A;/

Anyhow, a lot more rambling under the cut!

So yes, her story did lift a HUGE amount of “inspiration”/tropes from Sailor Moon, complete with the typical “Digimon Princess” theme and everything o-OTL. HOWEVER the more lengthier, sprawling story also had story arcs and tropes I still would have loved to explore in more detail - the 02 kids each had their own story arc where they’d receive their own personalized Crest traits (Iori’s was Wisdom, I can’t quite remember Miyako’s atm orz but she had one too [EDIT: MIYAKO was Loyalty, Iori’s was Wisdom!! Loyalty would fit Iori too maybe though aha?]; and of course, Daisuke got Miracles!) and their Digimon would all get to evolve into their own evolutionary lines.

The Adventure Chosen would eventually have their own arcs too; involving “Negative Crests”, evil clones, and actually the main villain of the entire fic was Alphamon - who wasn’t even featured in the main canon materials much at the time! (SO YOU CAN IMAGINE HOW MUCH I FLIPPED OUT WHEN HE WAS REVEALED AS THE MAIN VILLAIN FOR TRI, A-AHAHAH) Aaaanyway that arc would have dealt with each kid encountering their evil clone, being attacked by them/fighting them against the real kids’ wills, learning about them and their backstories, and the real kids’ Digimon would all finally evolve to Mega/Ultimate forms; the clones would have then been defeated after their corrupted virus type Digimon were destroyed, and after the clone children and their crests no longer being corrupted; them all dying peacefully to rejoin their Digimon in the Digital World afterlife. ;A; (.....I STILL GET LOTS OF FEELINGS THINKING ABOUT THE STORIES I HAD PLANNED FOR THEM ALL, SOMETIMES, I ADMIT, ESPECIALLY MY FAV KOUSHIRO’S BECAUSE LIKE. /NO MY HEART/ ALSO, THE DIGIMON WERE ALL TO BE ESPECIALLY AMAZING, ESPECIALLY TENTOMON + HIS CLONE BECAUSE LIKE. YES. NO??? HUMONGOUS CORRUPTED VIRUS TYPE ARMORED GIANT BUG PROTECTING CORRUPTED TINY CHILD AND ALL. Also, if you saw my previous post on Koushiro AUs (AKA: MOSTLY SUFFERING), the AU idea there about “Koushiro fully losing his curiosity” would have been detailed in that storyline, too [just in the place of the clone Koushiro, with the real Koushiro trying to help/save him.... but alas.......] ;3;/) (also the clone Koushiro may have not understood his own feelings and that he was hopelessly in love with the clone Taichi who didn’t know this at all until he found out at the very end; and who also died; yeah there was lots of drama/angst to be had)

As for the “Negative Crests”, basically, each Chosen would have had to fight against the darkness attempting to corrupt them and the Crests they had “lost” (which they’d then “regain”), with each cloned Chosen having the Negative Crests, like so: Taichi -> Fear Yamato -> Loneliness Sora -> Hate Koushiro -> Ignorance Mimi -> Lies (Impurity??) Jou -> Betrayal Takeru -> Despair Hikari -> Darkness [/that feeling when I actually finished Hikari’s arc along w/a Ken + Daisuke miniarc cries] (THE CLONE/DARK!JOU WAS ALSO V. EPIC AND BASICALLY BETRAYED ALPHAMON BY FINDING OUT ALPHAMON’S PLANS AND DESTROYING HIMSELF BEFORE ALPHAMON COULD FULLY CORRUPT HIM AND WIN, DARK!JOU AND ALSO JOU HIMSELF WERE SO EPIC, YOU GO JOUs !!!)

Also, being a kid at the time, of course I paired my OC with my other favorite character, of course (.....DAISUKE AHAHAHA) though young me was also very into slashfic and also not-so-subtlely hinted at underlying Tai//shiro storylines as well as not-to-be (orz) Ken//suke (mainly from Ken’s side; it’d then lead to the Ken//yako kids). All of it would have tied into the post-02 epilogue that basically explained “how the heck did all this happen and what do they and the epilogue kids do next??” AAAAND YEAH. (EVEN YOUNG ME LOVED TAI//SHIRO AND KEN//SUKE / DAI//KEN TO DEATH, OK, OK, YOUNG ME KNEW WHAT WAS UP)

Soooo I’m sure you can imagine how I feel now watching AND (MOSTLY) ENJOYING Tri and seeing other new interesting character(s) (Meiko!!) instead, ahahaha. ...Though now I’m also missing my old OC(s) and reflecting on all these old storylines I had (AMONG OTHERS), WHY THIS...... ;A;/ Ah well, it’s still nice to reminisce....!

(BY THE WAY, YOUNG ME ALSO NEVER SAID SO AT THE TIME, BUT THIS OC [AND COINCIDENTALLY ALSO DAISUKE] WAS DEFINITELY HEADCANONED TO BE SOMETHING LIKE BI/PAN/DEMI??...!! Hikaru as a character would have felt to her personally, purely looks or physical attraction was secondary - she would have probably believed in soulmates; developing a very strong emotional bond only with a person who loved and accepted her for who she was, and who she was the same for them. For my character, at the time, that was Daisuke...! H-Hahaha, though - she was also to have a backstory involving another (boy) OC she loved dearly, one who had disappeared (or: died/taken by the digital world) and she had to move on from (nOT.... HELPED BY ONE OF HER OWN DIGIMON DYING PERMANENTLY [the gold one], I’M STILL SUPER SAD I HAD TO KILL HIM OFF BUT IT WAS NECESSARY FOR THE STORY it was also a huge part of her character development and flaws including how she reacted to death/grief and would basically withdraw heavily into herself ALA KOUSHIRO AT HIS WORST.....); she would have then learnt to move on and found her personal true happiness & also her true love. So, at the time, that was Daisuke (despite the major Ken//suke undertones because it was [very] sadly not to be in that fic, o-orz - also Daisuke was a huge underdog/underappreciated within the fandom at the time (and also within OC fic which was near exclusively dub based), who was constantly bashing him for the dumbest of reasons jUST. WHY WAS FANDOM LIKE THAT-)

-- but back to Hikaru now, NOW....?? idek, maybe she’d find someone different and Daisuke would end up together with Ken?! WHOOOO KNOOOOOWS (MAYBE EVEN POLYSHIPS, THAT’D DEFINITELY WORK TOO, YES)

(ADDING A BIT MORE ABOUT HER PERSONALITY!!:) -quite mature as well as modest -secretly a huge computer geek that would also be very experienced at coding. This, of course, made Koushiro something like a senpai to her, and they’d often excitedly discuss computers/coding (along with Ken chiming in at times) while the rest of the Chosen would blank stare (hhhhhA) -despite this however she’d definitely not be on Koushiro nor Ken’s levels but she’d be on course to fast improvement with their guidance!! (also keep in mind this fic was originally written when I was a very young kid when girls who coded were acknowledged even less o-orz) -(ALSO SECRETLY A VERY ENTHUSIASTIC GAMER) (eventually, she’d come to hang out with Daisuke [+Taichi, Koushiro and Ken when they visited] to play games!) (the outcomes would often be: defeat Daisuke [repeatedly], defeat or draw with Taichi [to his dismay as well], be beaten by Koushiro and Ken [to which she’d vow to challenge herself to become better!]) -typically very optimistic/positive, kind/friendly, warm, welcoming, helpful, respectful etc., unlikely to have a mean bone in her body and basically extremely loving and supportive towards everyone -this would often put her at odds, however, with more competitive people or ruder people who weren’t as warm or welcoming; though she’d accept that being the case, she’d often be troubled that she did “something wrong” -speaking of being respectful, though she also wasn’t near Koushiro (or Iori) levels of “-san” respectfulness, she did use proper honorifics for everyone and often hesitated to change honorifics, even when prompted. (The older Chosen were a mix of “-san” [Yamato, Sora, Mimi until Mimi demands the use of “-chan” as per typical] and “-senpai” [Koushiro, Jou, and even Taichi, to his bemusement] mainly due to her having been intimidated to be new at the start, which is.... qUITE A LOT LIKE MEIKO’S NOW THAT I THINK ABOUT IT...) -despite her typical personality though she would stand up for herself and her friends as needed, especially in the face of evil/darkness -though very friendly, much more of an introvert than an actual extrovert; she’d rather stay inside unless invited out by the others (who would often have to insist she join them) -had some initial regrets about moving from America, even though things were harder for her there (where it was even harder for her to fit in) and it was necessary for her parents’ jobs, it was still her original home, so she holds her childhood close. -becomes chosen to be a Chosen Child due to her initial involvement with Digimon involving the OC who was “taken” by the Digital World (though she wouldn’t learn this was the reason or understand how/why it happened until later) -her story arc would essentially revolve around her learning to pick herself back up after grief and helping to save everything

(ALSO A BIT MORE ABOUT THE DIGIMON): -DemiSilveemon/Silveemon was more like Hikaru herself; though with a more eternally optimistic/supportive personality; though also somewhat more naive and silly, also with a short temper when something (DemiGoldveemon) irritated her. But when things would get tough, she’d always know the right thing to do \o/ -DemiGoldveemon/Goldveemon was much more extroverted / hyper / exciteable and super energetic/even more supportive!! ...though he was also the troublemaker, often getting into mischief and causing headaches for Hikaru and DemiSilveemon. However, when he’d have to put playing aside and defend his friends, he’d become extremely cool and awesome...!! ;A;/ (Later on, he’d also reappear briefly in spirit form to remind Hikaru and Silveemon to not give up \o/)

Yeah, I’ve been thinking about that too. I guess the only explanation is that some part of Kaneki’s body is still human, since he IS an artificial ghoul. Though I have to wonder how Touka can be sure the kid needs human food….it seems she hasn’t told Ken or anybody else so she couldn’t have gotten advice/info about it, and though Touka’s no idiot it’s not like she’s an expert on biology.

I wonder if Ishida’s going to be like ‘lol sorry the kid’s basically full ghoul and Touka’s been poisoning it with human food in the womb’

You know those theories that Uta isn’t actually 100% ghoul (or at least not a 'normal’ ghoul)? So, what if it was Uta back in THAT chapter. I mean, he’s been trolling Ken since the first series so…

And Touka somehow found out about the whole thing and still wants to keep the kid, which is why this is happening.

Wow, it would actually be awesome if Eto adopted the kid and raised them to understand what it means to be a part of both the ghoul and human worlds! If she was planning to pass on the title of the OEK to the child but ended up growing too attached, giving them the childhood she never had and telling them that though she’s crowning them as the new 'King’ she wants them to truly live- “Bridge the gap between the two worlds, become a leader and a spark of hope for those who need it, but never lose sight of yourself and your happiness. Martyrdom doesn’t pay, you know?”- because their father, Kaneki, failed to do so and that was what ruined him.

I think the hair suits Chris Hemsworth pretty well (OTL I have sinned, forgive me Queen Luna) but it doesn’t suit Thor…? Idk. He doesn’t look like Thor anymore haha

I feel like they’ll let it grow back in later movies, though :)

I agree that their canon bond is supposed to be platonic (possibly goes deeper than that, just not in a romantic way) but the fandom can dream ^^ I actually don’t mind either way because I ship Clint with Laura (his wife) as well.

Well, not exactly. Sharon’s still a pretty minor character but I think she had a lot of potential until that romance just killed it (I mean, she doesn’t have much of a personality, but she had one pretty cool scene in Civil War (before the Notp happened) that made me like her).

Oh, we’re actually pretty similar then! I mean, I have a few artists I could say I’m a fan of (Lana Del Rey, Lorde, Marina, Fall Out Boy) but most of the other songs I listen to are just chosen at random from all over the place.

If you liked Still Sane, though, I recommend Lorde’s new album (Melodrama)! It’s been years and she’s finally back :) there’s a song called 'Liability’ on the album that I really relate to and also reminds me of Kaneki ;-; I’ve also been obsessed with 'Perfect Places’ and 'Sober’ for a while now.

Oh my XD reading that reminded me of one of my older MCU characters who was pretty bad: it’s been a while so I’ve forgotten most of the details, but I remember she had a cat theme (her powers were probably something like enhanced agility??? and claws??? I think?) and was this super edgy anti-hero who shouldn’t even have been allowed to work with SHIELD in the first place but you know, terrible OC logic. She’d stand on top of buildings and make angsty speeches with her impractically long hair flowing in the wind…. and of course she had this intense love-hate relationship with Loki that was just full of unnecessary drama.

(Again, I don’t really remember much about my old OCs (conveniently forgot all my worst creations haha) so I’m just guessing here ^^;; I think this is mostly the sort of cringe-worthy stuff I came up with though)

Nara sounds cute! It’s admirable that she doesn’t get discouraged and tries her best even with guys like Yuuri and Phichit around :) I’d love Kya (that’s her name, right?) also seems really cool- her powers are a nice twist on the old 'communicating with/controlling animals’ thing :D

I actually learned to play Merry Go Round of Life on the piano a while ago and my teacher told me it was a waltz-like piece, so I should try to stay true to that (needless to say I failed miserably for quite a while haha). You’re right, it’d be lovely to see a couple dancing to it :)

I mean, yes, Kaneki is a half ghoul, but he’s more powerful than some full ghouls, not to mention his Rc levels are as high as a ghouls. I think that getting a Kakuja also ‘helped’ him to bridge the gap between half-ghoul and more or less-ghoul. However, since it is an incomplete Kakuja.

OH MY You’re totally right! When a healthy baby is born, with black hair and always has his kakugan activated (I don’t trust Uta’s explanation of it), Kaneki starts to doubt some things. Not to mention, he never actually slept with Touka, so how the fuck would the kid be his?

Honestly, if Eto adopted the kiddo and gave it a beautiful childhood full of wonders and fun, somewhere away from Japan, I’d forgive Ishida everything, including (maybe) killing Hide, or, at least, if he’s not dead, keeping Hide away from us for so long. She’s George Washington here. ‘Dreams of dying like a martyr?’ ‘Yes’ ‘Dying is easy young man/lady, living is harder’ So she encourages them to live, despite how hard it is, because the world is cruel, but also beautiful.

Oh wow, that’s certainly an interesting OC... So, angsty catwoman in MCU? Sounds exactly like something I’d make, just with wolves instead of Cats (i had an unhealthy obsession with wolves (and werewolves!) when I was younger ;-;)

I recently remembered my Fairy Tail OC. You ready for it? Idk which one’s worse, this one or the FMA one ;-; A dragon slayer (which is already a very Sue trait), but she didn’t have one element. Oh no, she was the QUEEN dragon slayer, which meant she could use any element she wanted *nods head* See, that was my worst problem when making characters. I was more or less tame with looks and I tried to give them character flaws (but it usually made them endearing, whoops), yet I just had to give them powerful abilities or something.

Now that i think about it, I’m glad I never made an OC for TG. Now that would’ve been a show. Waddaya say we make the biggest, most sueish character we can think of? Let’s see, to begin with, they would definitely have a chimera Kagune. Now, the most kagune a ghoul can poses, as far as we know, is 3, but why stop at that? The glorious character should definitely have all 4!

At one point, I stopped writing down my OC stuff. Now I’m very thankful about that, since it means I forgot most of it.

Aw, I’m glad you like the characters ^^ Honestly, as a writer, one of my first impulses when watching something is either to make an AU (for the show’s characters or for characters from other shows thrown into that situation) or to make an OC. So, Nara and Kya are one of the more recent ones.

Tatsuo is a magnificent bastard, if I’ve ever seen one. Seems like either the guy who’d immediately become my problematic fave or the character I can’t stand. Keep them coming huehuehue I definitely enjoy reading about other people’s OCs! I can’t wait to see Naomi! And feel free to send me other ones as well ^^

EXO’rDIUM Newark Fan Account

For some reason, this time round, Prudential Center did not have its shit together. They had moved the show up to 7:30 weeks ago, so we assumed we’d all be in by 7:00 tops. Wrong. My new friends I made in line (YAY) and I didn’t get in until 7:30, by which time we were a drenched, bedraggled looking lot. One of my friends almost didn’t have her ticket work it got so wet.

However, when EXO finally came on an hour late, it was like a flip switched. They made me forget I was hungry. That I was soaked through to my underwear and socks. That I was cold. EXO made me forget everything except how happy I was to see them.

I’ve got to hand it to the EXO-Ls there. We made sure they knew we were happy to see them. I’ve never heard fans sing along as much and as well as we did tonight. Well, I tried, but I was at a disadvantage since I primarily listen to the Chinese versions for practice lol.

The screaming and cheering started as soon as the lights dimmed, as if most of us hadn’t waited for hours in the rain. That said, this concert was also unique in another sense: EXO had so many more VCRs than I’ve seen. The opening VCR was the really cool mix of live footage and graphic novel style animated that introduced EXO with their powers as our protectors because we humans are dumb and keep hurting each other (there may have been a small commentary on American bombing during the Korean War but maybe that’s just me). The second was like a group date with EXO with Lay leading you between the members: you played darts with him, air hockey with Kai, an arcade game with Chanyeol, ate a snack&did a love shot with Sehun, watched a movie with Chen&Suho&Xiumin(who did aegyo!), watched Baekhyun make funny faces with a light stick, played a foosball game with Kai&Sehun, and then a dance party with all of EXO. The third had them all shrunken down and wearing those silly elf costumes with Chen, Suho, and Kai dancing around in a music room; Baekhyung and Xiumin working in a storage room with a very sleepy Kyungsoo who kept trying to nap; and Lay, Sehun, and Chen messing around in a sound room. So cute. The closing VCR was a kind of ending to the first.

EXO were a little out of synch dance-wise for the first songs, but after that they pulled together. I’m guessing part of it is the smaller stage and missing Lay (It was so sad, during the dance break for Wolf there was clearly a spot he was supposed to be). They did a good mix of group choreography and songs where they’d be spread out and do small parts of the choreography.

After the first three songs, all remixes, the boys gave their greeting. Everyone but Kyungsoo, who waved, bowed. I’ll go into more detail about their greetings, because they were hilarious, in their individual sections. Half of them reminded us to be safe though.

Through out the show, it was really awesome how much energy they all had, and how they interacted with each other as much as they did with us. There were tons of tiny interactions the whole time: Chen helping Suho when Suho dropped his cane during Playboy(THAT FREAKING PERFORMANCE!! OTL), Kyungsoo making Kai laugh when they were on the side of the stage together, Baekhyun and Sehun being distracted by a moving bunny toy someone tossed up at the end. It was a reminder that as much as they’re an idol group, EXO is also a group of very good friends. It gave the concert an intimate kind of feeling, if that makes sense. The fact that the boys were incredibly, and I mean extremely good, about rotating themselves so every side saw each of them for a good amount of time multiple times, also helped this.

They also did a few of their songs as acoustic versions and heaven help the souls of all of us there because it was some of the most beautiful things I’ve ever heard. Chanyeol played the guitar while the others sang, and Kyungsoo had hold out his mic so we could hear Chanyeol’s lines. Really though, I have video and y’all will see what I mean when I post it.

At some point, the staff gave them lightsticks to guide fans’ movements, and boy did they have fun dancing around directing us.

When they had to get changed, they took turns. Suho, Chen, and Kai were left on stage first and they told us about what they did in New York the day before. Chen saw Chicago, and wanted to give us the same feelings the musical gave him. Kyungsoo walked around and saw the play ‘Sleep No More,” which he suggested we go see but he was glad we were here instead of off seeing it. Silly. Kai went to Soho to buy shoes, then ate the third best pizza in the world, and bought medicine at CVS that he had trouble taking because the pills were big. Chen was adorable and kept repeating CVS because Kai was going on about how big the store was. Chen was also trying to amuse himself by trying to flip a bottle while Suho and Kyungsoo were talking. Kyungsoo also said he was tired because it was morning in Korea, prompting Chen and Suho to start yelling “Good morning” to us and making Kyungsoo laugh. Suho told us he walked around the city because he loves the movie “Birdman,” which again prompted Chen to be cute and pretend to fly, then sing “I Believe I Can Fly.”

While Chen and Suho were singing “I Believe I Can Fly,” Chanyeol came out and sung with them. It was so so pretty! Then Suho ruined it by asking “Was it a commercial?” to which Chen responded “Let’s move on,” and left lol. Xiumin pretended to kick them off. Chanyeol told us he went bowling, demonstrating by almost rolling his water off stage. When the others, Baekhyun was there too, asked him why do that when he can bowl in Korea and he said he just has bowling in his mind, but EXO-L in his heart. Cheeseball. Then, Baekhyun had to explain to us why they changed and this is where the little shit in him came out. He teased us for awhile asking if we were curious, then told us we had to help them sing the next song. He taught us the chant in Korean, then asked “When you’re dancing in the shower, don’t you naturally dance to the beat? I know I do.” He had such a smirk on his face. Dirty. He tried to get Xiumin to show us, but Xiumin said he doesnt’ really dance in the shower because it’s too slippery so he just showed us his upper body dance. Baekhyun then told us to not stop and bring out our secret dance. OTL

During the encore, the real one, people threw a lot of toys and such on stage. While it was fun to see the members play with them, I’ll also remind you guys to please not do this. There was so much confetti already on the stage and with the guys dancing, I was really scared they would fall and hurt themselves.

Now, on the members themselves.

Xiumin. My baby. I spent so much time watching him because he looked so healthy, and damn the man is gorgeous, and like he was having such a good time. I was so glad he was smiling so much. He reminded us to obey the rules for safety in his greeting and then did the EXO Showtime greeting. Got me right in the feels. He would do all these little dances in between songs or when they were just walking around, including some very unnecessary extra hip thrusts, and his singing and rapping was amazing. I was so proud when he got a mini dance solo during Transformer!! My boy needs more recognition for how good he is at pretty much everything. He also pointed a lot when he sang and got really into the music, and during Lucky he made a big heart with his arms. He walked around like that with this huge smile on his face. At the end, he tried playing soccer with some blow-up thing someone threw up with Kai, but gave up after it fell off stage. He blew a ton of kisses for us when they finally said goodbye.

Yes, Suho is an incredibly good-looking man(those tummy flashes we got during Wolf were no joke), but even more than that, he is such an adorable sweetheart. He tried to speak exclusively English for us through out, the dearheart, only reverting to Korean when he wanted to say something complicated. He also told us to be careful for our own safety and thanked us for waiting for them for a year. Once the concert started, he was all smiles and I do mean smiles. Unless the song was intense, that sweet smile was on his mouth. He also did a ton of little finger hearts and winks, enough to make any EXO-L swoon and spout gibberish. He accidentally called the tour “Exo’lucion” and got embarrassed, which is why he quickly moved on to the acoustic performances, which he called a “gift” for us. At the end, he thanked us for making the concert better than he’d thought and promised they’d be back after our collective groan of sadness they were leaving. He wanted to take a group picture with us after they said they goodbye, but Kyungsoo convinced him to wait until after Angel.

Chanyeol was, for lack of better words, Chanyeol. Equal parts a giant child and serious musician. He took his ear piece out to hear us scream for him during his greeting and promised to make it a “crazy night.” While he had his game face on during his parts and the choreography, in between the kid was all smiles. It’d get especially big when he’d be at the edge of the crowd waving. It was interesting to see the difference in him when he had the normal guitar and the electric guitars. He was all soft sweetie during the acoustics, though he did show off a bit, and then hot af rocker with the electric guitar. For real, I didn’t anticipate how sexy he gets when he’s rocking out, which continued when he moved into the DJ box. Towards the end though, he reverted back to being a little kid. He played with the streamers and then stood in front of the confetti gun at the very end until Chen had to come collect him for the group pic. He also had a very fun time playing with two of those squishy, spikey yoyo toys, one of which Kyungsoo tried to play with too, and he crossed the entire stage to give Baekhyun a plushie.

Chen, the flirt. As with many of the others did in the beginning, he told us to be safe, but he also told us he could feel our love directly. He was constantly playing around when the songs didn’t demand seriousness. Whether this was with his members or us, it didn’t matter. He joked around a lot with the others, and I kept seeing them smiling or laughing when he was close to them. He’d also get this huge grin whenever he was waving at us, and doing a cute little hopping dance while going so, or trying to get people to move their lightsticks a certain way. The little sweetie also made a neat pile of the toys at the end so no one would trip. As much fun as he had, he didn’t fail to impress me with his vocals. He’s already one of my favorite voices in EXO, but the different riffs he pulled off flawlessly just had me in awe. That’s besides the fact that he is also, very handsome, and the way his neck muscles and veins look when he’s belting out his notes is just... wow.

Baekhyun. First of all, I know we all secretly envy this kid’s looks with eyeliner but damn. It’s even worse in person and by worse he looks ten times more gorgeous. He may not have been as extra dance wise like I’ve seen in videos, but that doesn’t mean he wasn’t an extra tease. It started right from the get-go with his greeting where he told us this concert was for us to get closer and then go home. I already told you about the shower dancing, but goodness his tone and his smirk and the mischief in his eyes, what a little imp. Scamp Baek also came out during the group pic when Suho was telling everyone to do a cute pose and Baekhyun yelled out “No, sexy!!” All kidding aside, Baekhyun also really blew me away with his vocals. He was on key and hitting those notes and my ears were in heaven. That’s not to mention his dancing too, like the mini solo he had during Monster, which was so so good.

With Kyungsoo, even though he’s one of my top bias ruiners, I was in no way prepared. Honestly. When the camera panned to him my mind kind of blanked and then it went “His fucking face!” I feel bad for Xiumin, but my breath always caught when I saw Kyungsoo. Ok, moving on, lol. Handsomeness aside, he is such an adorable squish. So serious when it’s his line, but then a cute little smile always found its way onto his face as he looked out at the crowd. During his greeting, he asked if we were hungry and admitted he was too, bursting into laughter. He followed it up with “Ok, showtime!” Then during Lucky One he did the little head side bob thing with Chen all with a straight face. He also has a tendency to hold the mic with both hands when he does a power note that’s beyond cute for some reason. And he had so many perfect power notes he’d melt anyone who loves music’s heart.

Kai, I am convinced more than ever, is Johnny Castle in real life. There’s just something about his dancing/stage persona that just oozes sex. Whether it’s the smirk or the fluid power with which he moves, I don’t know. He’s pretty sexy on his own considering he had a bit of stubble showing and did little things like unbuttoning his shirt for Playboy. He even danced to Angel.Tonight was almost all Kai with little bits of Jongin. He did come out some, like when he did a little jump to be sure where the small ramp was or when he was playing with Kyungsoo and couldn’t stop laughing or when he played with a lightstick plushie and glasses or when he kept singing from backstage after their goodbye. As much as I love Kai’s dancing, those glimpses of Jongin just make him more endearing.

I’ll be honest: Sehun is the member I’ve always kind of glanced over. I don’t even know why and I feel really bad about it. I think part of it is that even though he’s an absolute puppy around the others, he’s very aloof on stage. I’ll admit, it does add to his cool guy sexiness. He is incredibly handsome, and I do mean like story book handsome. Especially in the VCRs. Seeing how good he’s gotten in his rapping and dancing, both of which were splendidly shown off during his rap/dance duet with Chanyeol, made me very proud as well. I think the best part of the night in relation to Sehun though was the small things that could easily have gone unnoticed. Like the little dances he did on the side when they were just walking around where he only moved his arms and lifted his feet. Or how he picked up a dog plushie, that looked like his dog, and carried it around for the entire encore like a real dog. The cool guy is actually a soft guy lol.

Even though Lay wasn’t there, I really hope EXO lets him know how much EXO-Ls screamed for him when he came on-screen during the VCRs. Seriously, that’s when we were at our loudest it seems.

Overall, this was a really, really fun concert. From start to beginning, EXO and all us EXO-Ls were having a blast and singing our hearts out. It also really meant a lot to me to finally see them, and to have their encore song be Angel. I don’t know if I’ve shared this on this blog, but when I lived in China, it was a really dark time for me and EXO helped get me through it, particularly EXO-M. At the time, I wanted to be a Chinese teacher, so I kept telling myself if EXO-M can live in foreign country and survive and flourish, I could too. I know EXO-M isn’t exactly what they were, but EXO as a whole stepped into their place in my heart and I love all of these boys so much for what they’ve given me (Angel is also my go to song when I’m having a panic attack to help calm myself down.) So to me, EXO is my Angel and tonight I got to give them a little love back.

Are any of them true? BONUS question just because I'm curious: 4) If they were a Pokémon trainer, what Pokémon would they carry with them?

Asha Cousland

1. Asha doesn’t really look at herself too nicely. She’d say she’s bossy and harsh, not very likable and super strict. She’s not entirely wrong but Aedan and Alistair know her better. Aedan’s always known she was quiet and preferred to stay on the edges of a crowd so being thrust into the spotlight makes her snappish. He also knows that if you can get her to open up and trust you, she’ll be a friend for life and even though he knows she’s a reserved person, it honestly hurts him to see how closed off she becomes because of the whole origins situation. Alistair would just say that she has a very low tolerance for bullshit and doesn’t want to waste time screwing around. She’s very much a thinker and planner so that they only have to do things once and as far as he’s concerned, she’s a very likable person and if other people can’t see that, more for him.2. Her living spaces are always highly organized. Because her life dissolved into chaos in the course of a night, she tried to keep her control however she could. Which pretty much boiled down to her tent and belongings. She always knows where everything is and can get waspish when people start messing and fiddling with it. She just really isn’t a fan of clutter because she’s had enough of unknown factors in her life that she doesn’t want anymore of it.

3. Most rumours about her are generally about her not being a friendly person. Which can be true to an extent but that just factors back to her not wanting to deal with bullshit and the nobles are famous for it. The rumours are mostly baseless though, especially if you ask anyone that works for her because they all love their queen very much. She might put up a front when she’s dealing with the nobles but they all see how she is when she doesn’t have to wear her Queen Face and they always make sure she’s fully aware of what and who is saying things about her. The only other one that really circulates is that she’s the real power behind the crown and that’s the easiest way to piss her off. She rules jointly with her husband and she really reacts badly when someone slights her husband and king that way.

4. Asha’s all about those canines my friend. She doesn’t care about balance, she’s all about the puppies. Arcanine, Lucario, Fennekin, Houndour, Eevee, and Mightyena. She cuddles with all of them, no matter how large they are. They are all her puppies.

Elora Trevelyan

1. Ells sees herself as fairly soft, especially compared to those around her. Probably a bit of a pushover when it comes to not so important things. Ionas, even though they spent a lot of time apart over their lives, knows she’s a mother hen, always has been, always will be. She cares about people and tries her best to keep everyone happy and healthy. She knows how to pick her battles, when to give in and when to never back down. Cullen usually just calls her stubborn (which pot calling the kettle back much???) but its that combination of worrying over others’ well being and needing to help to almost prove her worth he runs into the most. Which honestly bothers him because she’s more than proven her worth, that she doesn’t have her position because she’s the Inquisitor’s cousin since none of them knew she was when she took on the role, but he knows it’s mostly left over from her life in the Circle that makes her doubt herself. He knows she’s stronger than she first realises and gives herself credit for.2. Like Asha, everything has its place but Elora’s rooms feel more welcoming. Once she had her own space, she made it cozy and warm. The whole mother hen thing bleeds into this, especially her room in the mage tower in Skyhold. It’s right on the main floor so its easy to find if you need to talk to her but it also puts her right between her mages and anyone coming for them. She’s the liaison between the mages and the Inquisition so she has to be welcoming to both sides as well. Soft and comfy chairs, pillows and blankets and just a general setting to put you at ease. But she doesn’t let anyone forget she is a mage; her shelves are full of spell components and her field journals and her staff is always close at hand.

3. No one in the Inquisition wants to start rumours about the Inquisitor’s beloved cousin, but those nobles in Orlais? Halamshiral was a test of paitence and control for her as she heard the most outlandish things about herself. It was already hard given she was a mage, but hearing people wonder about everything from her social graces to her choice of attire to how a mage was part of the Inquisition’s war council and how she managed to get there kind of took its toll on her. While all of them were baseless and merely the nobles being gossipy shits, the Winter Palace was lucky to still be standing after the ball was over.

4. Ells probably has the most balanced team but even then not so much. Jolteon, Serperior, Pikachu, Dratini, Growlithe and Pyroar. She’s a fire and lightning mage so she’s partial to them and it shows. Again, tries for balance…doesn’t always work.

Evan Shaw

1. Ev would describe herself as a workaholic and not very approachable. She doesn’t think she makes friend easily or that people really want to be her friend. Juno knows she is a workaholic but that her greatest joy is creating and sharing those creations. Her baby girl is also shy, sometimes almost painfully so and can be socially awkward. When she opens up, she’s bright and lightly and will talk your ear off. Jesse would call her passionate about the things she loves, including the people she cares about. Crazy smart and cute as shit but can’t cook worth a damn. Sometimes a little too worried about proving her place in Overwatch if you ask him.

2. Evan’s place is…honestly a mess. She spends most of her time working and inventing and very little of it cleaning or keeping things in order. She’d say it’s an organized mess but it really isn’t. She honestly gets so wrapped up in her work that she doesn’t always take care of herself or her living spaces. What she does have in her house usually seems pretty random and out of place but they all hold special meaning to her, reminding her of her loved ones or actually gifts from them.

3. Most of the rumours about her stem from the fact that she isn’t supposed to talk about what she made to join Overwatch at such a young age. The other scientists and engineers aren’t exactly kind or spare much when it comes to the quiet girl who mostly keeps to herself. It doesn’t help matters that she’s fairly close to First Flight Officer Cortez, and through her the Strike-Commander, and they mostly assume that she got in because her parents were a part of Overwatch. They try to discredit what she wants to make because of that. But none of them are true since she got in with her own invention, even if she’s sworn not to talk about it.

4. If Asha is all about those canines, Ev’s all about the damn kitties. Espeon, Skitty, Purrloin, Torracat, Meowstic (she swaps between the male and female because she loves them both) and Cinccino. She’s the crazy cat lady and it shoes. She doesn’t care about balance, she just wants her kitties and cuties.

Eyra Finis-Nuntius

1. Eyra would say she’s pretty harsh and has a short temper. Moving from the Disc region to Insomnia as a child kind of made her pull into herself, putting up walls, because of how different everything was and how much she did not want to be there. At all. So she honestly sees herself as a little shit most of the time. Her dad, having gone through all the moods and tantrums of Eerie’s childhood, knows she’s always but a little shit, now. She’s sassy and playful with people she knows and cares about. She can still be a little standoffish with people she doesn’t know and he chalks it up to how much she was teased as a child. Gladio thinks she’s sarcastic as fuck, which she is, but he’s seen her at work, seen her working with patients, and he knows she cares deeply about people. She just doesn’t always show it in ways people expect and it comes off the wrong way sometimes. Badass softie is probably how he’d best describe her.

2. Eerie’s place is kind of split. The majority of her room is organized chaos because when she wants to relax, she wants to forget about structure and rules and just be herself. But her desk, workspace, and laptop are highly organized and everything needs to be in its proper place. She’s all about being efficient and time smart, at least when she’s working. God help you if try to mess with her time off though.

3. There really aren’t a lot about her beyond the basic cold bitch ones people who don’t know her might whisper about. Most people that know her know better than to talk shit about her behind her back. Maybe a random few about the fact that she’s dating a Crownsguard but never anything major.

4. Cubone, Rockruff, Umbreon, Pumpkaboo, Zorua, and Mimikyu. She got her nickname for a reason and she’s super into the spoopy so her team totally reflects that. It’s a combination between kick your ass and wanting to cuddle after a battle. …Sooooo badass softie >.>
