Hi Chrys! Just curious - have you watched the Amazon WoT show? And if so, what did you think?
I'm on the fence about actually giving it a shot, but I only made it to book 7 or 8 before I just didn't have the time anymore. Thought maybe the show would do it justice??
Yes, I have!! And honestly I really, really like it, which I know isn’t a very popular opinion a lot of people have.
(Bc of potential spoilers for those who haven’t made it as far in the books—if anyone else who follows me is even reading them, lol—I’m putting the rest of my thoughts under the cut. Also bc I will probably have a lot to say.)
So, first off: I am all about soundtracks. Soundtracks are an element to storytelling you don’t really get in any other form of media other than, like, film and television. The stuff you watch. I’m obsessed with the one in WOT. It’s beautiful and a lot of the songs use the Old Tongue, which I think is so, so cool. (Caisen’shar is my favorite.)
One of my favorite scenes is in the second episode. I don’t want to spoil anything, so I won’t go into too much detail. That scene alone, though, is just… it’s gorgeous. It was one of my favorite parts of Eye of the World, and it is my favorite part of the show so far. I look it up on YouTube to watch it a lot because I love it so much :)
I absolutely do not blame you for not reading more of the books, haha. The series is long and to have made it through 7 or 8 is a lot of reading, and I’m really impressed! The length of the book series is another thing you have to consider, though. There a lot of story printed on those pages. It’s too much to feasibly adapt, even with a television series. There’s just so much.
Season one covers Eye of the World, but I think the plan is for them to do some condensing because of how long the book series is. Which honestly, I’m not very upset about. It gives you a chance to explore some elements of the story you already know, and to maybe experience other parts of it in an entirely new light. It’s what I’m most excited about with season two, whenever it’s released. I love the different ways the same story can be told.
Also, I’m a huge Brandon Sanderson fan, who is the author that Robert Jordan’s wife (and editor) asked to help with finishing the series after he passed. Sanderson is also involved with the production of the Amazon series, and has talked about it on his podcast. He signed a deal that allows him to share his thoughts relatively freely, and he talks about how book-to-screen adaptations are on a sort of… spectrum. Some you can translate pretty easily to script and cameras, because they work that way. Some you just can’t, but you can reshape it in a way that is still faithful to the soul of the story.
That’s mostly where the WOT show falls. People who go into it expecting a perfect, scene-for-scene adaptation of the books are going to be disappointed, because it isn’t that. That doesn’t mean it’s bad, mind. It just isn’t a direct translation. But I’ve read all 14 books of the main series and the prequel (New Spring) and I think the Amazon series does a good job of knowing the limits it has on how much it can and can’t do, while still remaining faithful to the feel and soul of the story that makes Wheel of Time what it is.
That’s more where the WOT show falls. People who go into it expecting a perfect, scene-for-scene adaptation are going to be disappointed, because it isn’t that. That doesn’t immediately mean it’s bad, mind. It just isn’t a direct translation. I’ve read all 14 books and the prequel (New Spring) and I feel like the show still does a good job of capturing the feel and soul of what makes Wheel of Time what it is.
(Also, you can’t ask for a more perfect actress to play Moiraine. I am probably bias, but I think Rosamund Pike is another reason to give the show a try, if nothing else, haha 💙)

“What I want to know is where you’ve been (Y/N). I feel like I haven’t seen you in ages,” Mor comments, bringing her glass of wine to her full, red lips. It does nothing to hide her cutting grin.
You shrug, trying not to let the heat show on your face as you stare down at your own glass, swirling the drink around, trying your best to look casual and not up at the silent shadowsinger in the corner of the room that’s definitely interested in the conversation now. “I’ve uh, started seeing someone.”
She chokes, spluttering her wine onto Cassian’s shirt, the poor thing.
“Hey,” he exclaims, jumping up from his spot on the sofa. He examines his shirt with wide eyes, then glares up at Rhys’ cousin.
“I’m sorry! I just wasn’t expecting that answer!” She wipes her mouth on his shirt since it’s already ruined and Cassian grumbles, pulling it over his head and tossing it in her face, settling back onto the couch shirtless, looking much happier now that the constricting fabric is gone.
You catch Azriel rolling his eyes from the corner of your vision.
Mor shoots daggers at the Illyrian next to her as she rips the dampened fabric from her face. She bares her teeth at the male and you hope that they’ll start bickering so that you don’t have to talk about this anymore but she perks up like she’s thinking the exact same thing, turning towards you with a bright smile.
“You have to tell us everything,” she squeals, shoving up from the couch to the empty space on the identical couch you and Rhys had been lounging on. Amren mutters something under her breath and heads for the door, her due diligence of showing up for the Inner Circle’s dinner done.
Azriel creeps closer, taking one of the free seats beside Cassian, amusement swimming in his golden gaze.
You and he were a new thing, dating but only for a short amount of time. The both of you had agreed to keep it a secret from your nosy friends, wanting to revel in the feeling just a little bit longer before you told them.
Everything was going perfectly, no one had suspected a thing and you and Azriel were having the most fun either of you had had in a long time, so utterly in love that he could hardly rip himself away from you to do as Rhysand requests.
You shove her in the shoulder, “Later, Mor.”
She huffs, reaching for the win bottle to refill her glass, “No, now. Because you’re always off with this mystery guy and I want to know more about the person you claim is the best sex you’ve ever had.”
You can’t ignore the glinting stare fixed on you. You sneak a peek at Azriel while the attention is on the blonde, yelling for Cassian to go and get a fresh bottle because it’s about to get juicy, and immediately blush when you see that gorgeous smirk on his mouth, strong arms crossed over his chest and feet kicked up on the table, as at ease as you’ve ever seen him.
You even catch his wings shifting as he secretly preens under the compliment.
Mother, does he look kissable.
Cassian returns quickly, bottle already half open as he breathes, “I brought the most expensive one I could find,” and settles back into his spot on the sofa, raising his hands in defense at Rhys’ look of disapproval. “What? This calls for celebration!”
He shakes his head but doesn’t say anything, violet eyes meeting yours, an eyebrow quirking. You groan, not him too.
“I don’t know what you want me to say,” you mutter, holding your glass out because you’re in desperate need of a refill.
“Everything! What’s his name? What does he look like? What does he do? How big is it?” Mor urges, rapid-firing questions about the male you’re sleeping with.
“Yeah, (Y/N),” Azriel says and you send him a look, pleading him not to join in. Of course, the sneaky spymaster doesn’t listen, “Tell us more about how he’s the best you’ve ever had.”
You fully shoot daggers at him, and when Mor swats your arm you jump, turning towards her. Her eyes are wide, an impatient look in her eyes as she waits for you to spill.
“He’s…kind of quiet,” you start, and so far everyone except for Azriel looks unimpressed, “But not in the bedroom, if you know what I mean.”
“Gods, this is too good,” Mor kicks her feet excitedly, giddy as she continues on, “Where did you meet?”
“We have mutual friends apparently,” you take a sip of your drink, eyes sweeping past Azriel’s in a playful manner, “Though I don’t know why I’m even friends with them, they’re such busybodies.”
He can’t help but to hide his knowing grin behind the rim of his own glass, winking at you when no one else is looking.
“Oh, they sound dreadful,” Cassian says, sprawling out on the large couch. His head falls into Azriel’s lap and the shadowsingers smile instantly drops, making a face down at his brother that has you stifling a laugh.
He shakes his head, letting it slide, Cassian asking instead, “So how big is it?”
Azriel coughs and Rhys’ eyes widen, looking between the two of you as he puts the pieces together. “Oh!”
“Rhys, can I speak to you for a moment,” Azriel says hurriedly, jumping up from his spot, not caring that Cassian’s head falls onto the plush cushion below with a sharp complaint. He wants to know what his brother’s are talking about and as Rhys speaks into his mind he’s grinning wolfishly, grasping onto Rhys’ outstretched hand as the three winnow away.
“Wonder what that was all about,” you finger the rim of your glass, trying to play everything off, but the blush on your cheeks is permanent. This is not how you were expecting your night to go.
“It’s Az, isn’t it?” Mor asks and you snap your gaze to hers, jaw slackened.
“How do you know?”
“Oh come on (Y/N). I am the busybody,” she laughs, taking a swig of her wine.
You join her, chuckling as you think about how the brothers are probably teasing Azriel right now.
“So,” Mor starts, eyes glossy with mischief, “How big is it?”

Walking into my apartment, I shut the door and place my black nike sports bag on the bench in the foyer. There was a light breeze in the kitchen because I left the balcony doors open when I left this morning.
I didn't want to do anything right now since I had a busy morning. I had to wake up at 6am, eat breakfast, get to Ciutat at 8am, complete paperwork and contracts, do medical tests, take pictures for my first day, and have my first training practice with the team.
The excitement in my body wouldn't go away though. Barcelona is the best club in the world currently, I had high hopes for this season and just want to contribute to the team.
Turning on my phone that was in my back pocket, the time read 1:23pm. Well, in Europe it's 13:23. However, it would take me a while to get used to that as an American.
I saw a few texts from a phone number I didn't recognize too.

What time are you free later?
We should go to La selva. It's a restaurant in the city. I haven't been there before but Ingrid recommended it :)
I blushed as I remembered the conversation with Esmee earlier. I appreciated the idea of going out to eat with her, I want to build bonds with my new teammates the same way I had with my old teammates back in Washington.
Considering that I've meet her today, I couldn't say that I had a crush on her (yet). That would be too fast. However, I thought about her on the drive back to my apartment. I'm excited to spend time with a new friend and teammate.

y/n: I'm free around 17:00/5pm. I have to do some things for my apartment and I'll be ready.
y/n: I just looked up the location to La selva restaurant. It's not too far from my apartment. Its 6 minute walk from me :)
I added Esmee's phone number into my phone as "Esmee :)" before I clicked off of iMessage to go on instagram. Clicking on my notifications, I saw "esmeebrugts followed you 5d" meaning that she followed me five days ago.
Going on her profile, I see that some of my friends back in america follow her and she follows a couple of them back. Everyone kind of knows each other in this sport so I am not surprised.
I don't go on instagram when I am not posting, so I felt bad when I saw that she followed five days ago. I followed her back immediately.
s/n went back to America earlier with our mom and I miss her already. We walked on the Barceloneta Beach before dinner last night, celebrating my new life in Spain. She took pictures of me and I feel happy enough to post them on Instagram.

When I told Esmee that I had to do things for my apartment before the dinner, I wasn't lying. Throughout the past week I've been decorating my apartment so it felt like home. I know it will take a while to get used to this place, since I am across the Atlantic Ocean in a new country away from my old home.
three hours had passed and I've finished completing everything for my apartment. I picked up my phone from the coffee table and the time read 4:12pm/16:12. I saw I've received 5 text messages from different people:
Esmee :) 2hrs ago: La selva isn't far from me as well, see you at 17:00!

The first person I texted back is Ingrid, I gave her my number before she left training earlier with Mapi. I changed her contact name to just "Ingrid E".

I texted Trinity back as well, saying that Barcelona is great and asked her how she's doing back in Washington. I reacted to Esmee's message with a like and Emily's with the "haha" reaction.
I had about 45 minutes until I had to meet Esmee at La sevia, so I quickly went into my bedroom and changed into a different outfit than what I had on this morning.
Deciding to do my usual hairstyle (imagine whatever you want, reader <3), I placed on a bit of brow gel concealer mascara blush and lip balm as apart of my makeup routine. I constantly checked the time on my phone, making sure that I am not late to meeting Esmee. I promise this obsession over the time just isn't due to my interest in her, with friends I'll try not to disrespect their time by being late to an event.
After putting on my outfit (photo above^), I checked the time and it's finally 4:45/16:45. I grabbed my purse, put on my sandals, made sure to lock my apartment door, and followed my phone GPS towards LA sevia.
Stepping outside, the warm weather with the nice breeze made me smile. My white oversized button up shirt flowed with the soft breeze. Usually, my social anxiety would plague my thoughts about hanging out with someone new in my life. I used feel shaky and hesitant about these situations. However, I promised myself that I would be more open with others once I came to Spain.
I turned the corner away from my street, heading to walk straight for about a quarter of a mile. Suddenly, I saw a group of girls. One girl had box braids with a nice orange sundress on. Another girl was a redhead with freckles, she wore a pair of jeans shorts with a green shirt. The third girl, who was closest to a restaurant door they were standing out of, was brunette and wore a 22/23 barcelona kit with a pair of light washed jeans. These girls were a few years younger than me, if I had to guess.
When the girl in the Barcelona shirt saw me walk by her, she gasped before coming up behind me and tapping me on the shoulder. I didn't walk past her to ignore her, I figured that since I'm new to Barcelona I wouldn't be recognizable yet.
"Are you y/n l/n? You look so pretty in person. Sorry I- um- wow I am such a fan of your talent." The shy girl spoke with a Spanish accent. I smiled at her as her two friends stood behind her, looking at me with admiration too.
"Thank you so much! I appreciate your kind words." I responded.
The girl pulled out her blue cased iPhone to give to her friend, "I can take a picture with you?" she asked. I responded yes kindly.
After taking pics with the three girls, I continued to walk to the restaurant. Turning onto the street were La sevia was, I heard my imessage notification go off in my back pocket.
I clicked on my lock button to see that I received a text message from Esmee, the time is currently 4:57/16:57. The restaurant is in view from where I am walking so I wasn't late.
Esmee: I am here! I got us a table already so I am inside
Y/n: I am right outside. Heading in now :)
As I approached the restaurant, I stopped and took a deep breath as my nerves started to increase in unfamiliarity. My social anxiety won't ruin this potential friendship I want to have.
I smiled in awe when entering the steakhouse . The place has beautiful lighting, nice vinery, and was pretty spacious. There was nobody up front at the hostess station, so I continued to walk into the restaurant to find Esmee.
As I turned the corner, I see the Dutch girl sitting. She had her familiar braids with her back facing towards me. She's looking down towards her lap so I know she is on her phone.
If I knew her well enough, I would've scared her from behind. A "boo!" could've been funny. Oh well, next time I will.
"Esmee!!!" I said going to sit down in the seat across from hers. The chairs in the restaurant were hanging from the roof, the whole area was pretty.
"Y/n hey!" Esmee clicked off of her phone and placed it upward on the table. I placed my bag in the chair beside my left leg before I fully acknowledged Esmee's appearance.
I cannot deny it. I found her attractive since seeing her at training this morning. She had this shy and sweet aura to her. Don't get me started on her adorable smile...
She wore a black nike hoodie and had on a nice gold necklace. I can't see her pants from below the table but I believe I saw black cargos when walking towards her from behind.
"I'm sorry I am a little late, a fan recognized me and asked me for a photograph." I giggled. I knew I didn't have to apologize because it was exactly 5:00/17:00 when I arrived, I just hoped that she didn't wait long.
"It's totally okay! I just sat down when I saw your message about you being outside." Esmee responded. The dutch accent when she speaks English is pulling me in, emotionally, as I look at her with a smile.
Be cool, y/n. I thought to myself.
"Okay that's good. I didn't want to keep you waiting." I commented.
"You're fine no worries... so I see a fan recognized you already." Esmee said with her recognizable smile.
I laughed lightly and was going to respond until a waitress came up to our table.
"Hi I'm Maria, I will be your server tonight. Can I get you started with any drinks?" The brunette, who had French braids in her hair, smiled at us.
I looked at Esmee, seeing if she wanted to answer what she wanted first. She nodded her head at me, offering for me to go first, we nearly laughed before I said to Maria, "I'll just take a water." Esmee wanted the same thing and Maria smirked at us before walking away.
"Yeah a fan did recognize me. She had on a Pedri shirt and stared at me walking by her before she stopped me for a picture. She had her friends with her and they were so kind." I said.
Esmee nodded her head, "That's good. I'm glad they were kind to you."
"Same, the last thing I need for the end of my first week in Spain is a mean person coming at me." I shook my head at the possible thought.
"Have you had any fan interactions here since Tuesday?" I asked Esmee. It's Monday today so Esmee arrived to Barcelona before I did.
"I had a few actually. A few Oranje fans saw me and asked for a picture. I went to Mexico with the team for a friendly on Thursday and was able to meet more fans there too." Esmee commented. The Barcelona team had a friendly in Mexico against Club America from what I saw on their Instagram pages. My contract wasn't signed until a few days ago, when they came back to Barcelona, so I wasn't able to go.
"You're so lucky! How was Mexico?" I smiled.
Esmee looked up, thinking about her few days for the Club America friendly, before looking back at y/n with a smile.
"Mexico was fun. We didn't walk around or do much. However I saw an old teammate from PSV that plays at Club America so that was nice. uh---- it was nerve-wracking too." Esmee said.
"I understand, it was your first time playing with the team. Friendly or not. Being nervous and excited is normal" I validated her feelings.
"That's true. I did good in Mexico so the worry was for nothing." Esmee lightly laughed as I looked at her with a blush.
Maria came by with our waters and asked what we wanted to eat. Realizing that we spent most of our time talking instead of looking at the menu, we asked for a few extra minutes. The waitress accepted it and smiled before walking away, giving us time.
Esmee and I look through the menus deciding what we want. Most of the menu was in Spanish, so we had to flip to the English part of the menu. While looking through the menu, Esmee and I didn't talk. The silence between us wasn't awkward since there was a nice jazz song playing throughout the restaurant.
"Have you ever had salmon?" I asked Esmee. The girl looked at me with a smile before nodding. I smiled back before saying, "I never had salmon before. The salmon with pineapple and avocado sounds good though." I say.
"You never had salmon before? You should try it, it's good." Esmee said as she looked back at her menu.
"Okay, I'll try that." I closed the menu and placed it in front of me on the table. Esmee looked at the menu for a couple of more seconds before closing it as well, "I'm going to get the same thing." she smiled.
"Copy cat." I joked.
"I am not copying you.... you just have good taste." Esmee rolled her eyes playfully which made me laugh.
"I'm just kidding Es. You can copy me as much as you want to without me feeling annoyed." I smiled before freaking out internally, "oh my god, I hope she didn't take that as flirting. After Maria came back and we ordered our food, Esmee and I took the opportunity to talk a lot more. We discussed our soccer/futbol journey before coming to Barcelona, our families, our upcoming game with Madrid CFF, and our love for video games. We have a lot in common.
The Dutch girl never mentioned having a girlfriend while she talked about the people close in her life, I took note of that.
Maria came back with our food around 45 minutes after we ordered. Esmee and I didn't talk much as we had our food but it's okay. Again, the silence wasn't painful or awkward to me. Other conversations from people around us and the light music kept my mind occupied.
I didn't want to stare at Esmee, since that would be weird for our first time hanging out, but she looked so pretty. Sometimes when I looked at her, she already looked at me with a shy smile. This made me blush, she noticed it but didn't say anything.
The check came back and the price wasn't expensive at all. Esmee and I forgot to ask if we could split the check but we didn't want to bother Maria who is helping with other tables.
"I can pay for it!" I say as I place my sliver credit card on top of the receipt on the table.
Esmee shook her head no as she placed her credit card on top of the receipt, handing me my card back.
"I offered to take you here so it's on me." The dutch said. She wasn't lying but I didn't want to make her feel obligated to pay for my food when I can.
"Yeah but-"
"Y/n, it's okay." Esmee spoke softly before Maria took her card and walked away. I blushed knowing that couldn't debate with the girl.
"Okay but next time I am paying."
"There's going to be a next time?" Esmee teased, her eyes filled with admiration.
"Oh absolutely!" I said enjoying her company.

It felt a little lonely, standing there in Leonardo's arms.
The only light came from the kitchen overhead around the corner, the room out of bounds for the moment, scattered with bloody towels and an upended first aid kit.
Leo was quiet against you, fighting to keep his breaths even, little shivers radiating outwards from the entry points you had painstakenly bandaged up after he'd all but crashed into your balcony doors a few hours earlier.

"If they can get in the Lair," he argued, shifting his feet and giving a full bodied wince against you, "they can get anywhere. Who knows what they pulled off Donnie's computer before he fried the system."
"I'm not running away, I'm not gonna be set aside-"
It was his turn to cut you off, one hand fisting at the back of your head and pulling back sharply, for once a little rough with the way he manhandled you.
"I'm not giving up on this, on us." He said heatedly, breath hitting your face and making you nearly gag from the smell of copper wafting from his mouth. "I need you to be safe. I can't- can't worry about you when I need to fight."
You're quiet at that, gaze jumping around his features, taking in the pain that shadowed his eyes and mouth. "I'll come with you then."
The side of his mouth ticked upwards, giving you just a hint of that boyish dimple he usually hid. "Absolutely not."
"I won't leave you." Stubborn, so stubborn, the two of you locked in a contest of wills.
"This isn't like training, it's not a drill." He started, hand dropping from the back of your head. "Our enemies have serious firepower, and the order are kill, not capture."
You flinched at that word of finality coming from his beloved mouth, but powered though. "Then I'll die with you. They can't take you. There's no me if there's no you, Leonardo."
He turned deadly serious at that, his mouth going slack, eyes training a little too hard on your face. "I love you," he said, words coming out slow and sure and final.
You took a deep breath. "Then I'm coming with you."

He probably told you that the song reminded him of you, and that sparked the romantic relationship. Every time this sequence plays he’ll just look at you (if/when you watch the movie). He is, as the song states, “your crying shoulder”, the “greatest fan of your life”. Everything about you takes his breath away. We all know he’s the best singer in the fellowship, and its just gorgeous to listen to him sing it, especially because he means every word. He also probably dedicated this to you early on in the relationship, and it was definitely your wedding song (if you got married).

Honestly you wouldn’t expect such a lowkey song for such a high energy guy, but he’s a sucker for lazy days and sweet moments. He’s, as he likes to say, ‘work-avoidant’, and just wants to spend all his time on you. He also finds the song easy to sing to you, so thats a plus. The lyrics just resonate with him, similar to my picks for Pippin and Frodo. He’s very competitive, but he honestly doesn’t mind losing to you. He pretends like romantic or soft movies don’t make him cry, even if they do. He gets the appeal of going out and drinking and laughing, but just staying at home with you just sounds so much nicer to him. Its all about the little things in life with him, the small moments, the laughs, and every ‘I love you’ that makes him feel lighter than air.

Into the actual song analysis, this song frames his want to be close to you, the mysterious way he was drawn to you, the way he felt like time flew by whenever you talked. Also I feel like he’s made jealous relatively easily, and that’s also in the song. His heart has been borrowed before, but he’s glad he’s ended up with you, to hear your jokes, save you seats, and call you his lover. He definitely likes to sing this to you late in the night, and i can see him humming/mumbling it whenever the two of you just stand and hold each other. Its so wholesome, and he loves the way your eyes light up when he sings it with all the love in his heart, all of it for you.

Honestly, he’s not a very observant dwarf, but he does pay attention to you. He knows you, and he cares a lot. He hates to admit it, but he thinks you are precious (I’M SORRy-) and every small thing about you is worth taking note of. And he does, so he knows exactly how to make you happier. He’s your personal hype-man, and truly believes that you are the best thing he has ever had. He uses the song as a guidebook on how to treat you, and while he won’t say it, or sing it, he does play this song for you and leave in a huff, just hoping you’ll know this song is meant to say that he loves you. He takes your hand pulling you close to his body and says. "Friday play us a song" You laugh. "Maybe we should do that indoors" He sways around. "I love it out here...with you"
You smile as you two dance to a love song coming through the speakers.

You two head into the tower and tony says from the living room. "Oh God you two! your soaked!! oh God my rug!" he gets a gross look on his face. "great now I have to get this cleaned"
You two laugh as you two sneak up the tower. "Tony is so ticked off" You giggle and Steve says. "oh for sure"
You walk into his bedroom without thinking. You turn and sit on his bed. "So..now what captain?"
He walks closer to you. "that's up to the birthday girl" You curl your finger and he smiles and you say. "Kneel"
He raises an eyebrow. "yes ma'am" he kneels and you learn close to him. "Kiss me again please" Steve smiles brushing his lips on yours. You grab the hem of his shirt and pull it off and say. "make this a birthday to remember please"

You felt hollow as he pulled out. "Fuck best birthday ever" You smiled. Steve kisses your cheek. "I'm glad you liked it" he wraps his arms around you and says. "happy birthday Y/N"
You snuggle up next to him. "Maybe we should do this for your birthday uh?" He laughs. "sounds like a deal" he kisses your head then you two fall asleep in each others arms.

Hey Julie!
I wanted to write a little drabble just cause you always write something for us and I wanted to return the favor. I hope that this will make you smile.
Rex had just returned from yet another impossibly crazy mission with General Skywalker. Training had prepared the good captain for many things, but half mad Jedi was not one of them. Finally back on solid terra firma and walking through your door he places his kit in the box by the door. “Cyar'ika, I'm home!”
Silence and dark, this is never a good sign. Rex knew that you were going through another rough stretch just from that, because he knew you. “Oh no... Cyare?”
He headed to the bedroom and found you cocooned in the blankets with one of his shirts on fast asleep. There were tear streaks and he could see the open doc on your data pad. You worked so hard on everything you did and still couldn't see how amazing it was to everyone. But he saw it and he'd keep telling you till you believed it cause he loved you so.
You heard the water running, could smell blaster residue and male musk. Blinking open a tired eye you could see Rex through the bathroom door. When did he get home? Scrambling to get out of the blankets you rolled from the bed with a thud, “Dank Ferrik!”
“Freeze, don't move mesh'la,” Rex looked down at you, kind yet firm expression on his face. Walking over he untangled you from the blankets, picked you up and carried you to the bath. With a subtle nod and a kiss on your forehead he shooed you into the warm bubbles and came back not a minute later with a glass of wine, stepping in to join you. “Now you just relax and let me take care of you.”
“I'm sorry if I knew you were coming home...”
He shushed you as his hands began to lightly massage the stiff muscles of your neck and shoulders. Stars he loved the little moans and squeaks that you let out as he did. Turning your head to capture your lips in a slow languid kiss Rex growled at finally having you in his arms again. As your muscles relaxed he moved from massaging to simply holding and caressing your body, trying to express all that he felt. “You're here with me and that's all that matters. It's all this trooper needs at the end of a long mission, to come back to you and hold you close.”
The water sloshed as you turned over to curl your body around his, kissing him harder. It had an edge of hunger but also sweet longing, the type of kiss that only comes after being away for so long. Tracing your tongue along the cupids bow then the seam till his own came out to dance. Rex's hand came up to lightly grip in your hair as the kiss deepened. There was no place safer than here in his arms, no place where you were more loved and happy. Panting and breathless you held tight to him, “Rex...”
“I know cyare, I love you too,” His hand dropping from your hair to cradle your face, stroking his thumb on the apple of your cheek. “and I always will.”
The night had only begun, and Rex was far from done showing you all he felt.

🌟 weekly tag wednesday 🌟

how is your day going?: good. comfy. i woke up in a very cute mood! although, it's another slow one, i've been feeling very time warpy and floaty lately.
are you okay?: yea. yea! i'm at a nice little plateau 🥰
what is your favourite shade of your favourite colour?: blue like the deep ocean. green like the deep forest.
are you single?: 🙂
are you happy about that?: 🙂
what age do you feel in your brain?: definitely not like i should be in my 30s lol it's funny, i was talking about this the other day. about how covid hit when i was 29 and i don't feel like i've aged in the meantime. but at the same time i feel decades older.
do you feel like the good times are behind you or ahead of you?: hmm i think this is one of those "it can be both" type of things. lots of good behind me, lots of good ahead of me (i fucking hope!)
do you have a best friend?: yessirrr
did you have a childhood pet?: yea! i had two little budgies. one green, one blue. we also had a little kitty.
do you sing or whistle around the house?: oh my god, yes... i don't whistle. but, look, i think there's a song always bouncing around up there and i just gotta at least hum it sometimes. and if music is playing and i know the lyrics, i'm singing.
do you light candles or incense?: i do! i love candles very much. a big plus if they've got those wood crackling wicks!
are you busy Friday night?: nope. i'm busy saturday night though!
if you were a circus performer which act would you be in?: uuhhh me perform? n-no... i shan't. but i do like that aerial silky thingy!
what is your favourite outfit?: this depends on the day! but usually it's a colorful top, ripped blue jeans, combat boots, and a leather jacket. hoops, buncha rings, and watch. some eyeshadow that'll make my eyes pop and a berry colored lip.
what's the last thing you created?: completed? my wedding boys. wip? i keep reworking a sketch for the gift exchange.
what is your favourite fic or book of all time?: my god i don't know! all time is a lot of time and i suddenly forgot everything i've ever fucking read!
what are you looking forward to?: some time off work in two weeks! seeing my friend on saturday! feeling the sun on my face!
what can put you immediately in a better mood?: a little quiet time. perhaps a nap. being silly with people that i trust.
do you like hugs?: i do i doooo! but like i really gotta want to and trust you lmao
what is something you wish people understood about you?: i'm just a little meow meow, you know? small and round and soft, with the sharpest little claws you've ever seen!
