Hm. I started collecting old books, like printed in the early 20th century or older, and my grandma decided to give me a couple of her dad's old school books. One of them is one of the readers that schools would have with a bunch of different short stories and poems and excerpts, and the other is a copy of Irving's The Sketchbook. It has a note to Sextus Surname as a reward for good attendance written on the end sheet. He didn't attend past middle school, but kept them. One of them has a pencil rubbing of some kind of coin I can't decipher.

Okay, I have this navy short sleeve button-down that has liddol fruits printed all over it that my mom jokingly pointed out at JCPenney's, some black jeans, and then these boots that I spoiled myself with as a reward when I got hired to the school district if I had known I'd resign six months later I would have saved the money soiguessi'mhappyididn'tknow

It's kind of the only ensemble I have that feels like an actual outfit instead of just a top and jeans. I am going to be heartbroken when the shirt wears out.

WELL. ive been putting off a proper character introduction post for katsu due to lack of sufficient motivation but HERE WE ARE FINALLY. my silly boy katsu. my darling son. my lizard kitty thing. lil long under the cut :)

full name: katsu arahata race: raen au ra gender: cis male sexuality: gay height: 6 feet 9 inches (nice) nameday: 23rd sun of the 3rd astral moon age: 24 at the start of ARR. turns 25 shortly after stormblood, and turns 26 the same day patch 6.4 happens birthplace: southern shishu (whatever xiv's equivalent to okinawa is) occupation pre-ARR: lived in kugane with his parents, likely had a job at the mujikoza. reason for beginning journey: grew tired of his mother telling him how to run his life even as an adult as well as feeling like he had to live and breathe for the sake of the arahata family and nothing else, so he left kugane without warning, leaving only a note to his parents. residences: was born in southern shishu and raised there until age 5-6, when his mother decided she wanted him to get a better education in a more affluent part of hingashi, so they moved to kugane. eventually buys an apt & then a house in limsa. overall disposition: tends to be generally friendly and warm to most folks he meets, but the degree of such is based on how much he trusts you. for strangers, the friendliness is just a facade he puts up to keep himself safe, but once he trusts you he becomes a lot more genuine and expressive. loves making his friends laugh. has issues with anxiety and sensory overload but tends to hide them due to aforementioned trust issues, and only talks about them to his closest friends. enjoys learning and likes a bit of adventure, but generally prefers taking it easy. initially a bit of a pushover pre-ARR until EW due to habitual interpersonal conflict avoidance, but deep down greatly values his own agency. notable negative traits: can sometimes be distrustful, occasionally dishonest, avoidant, and ever so slightly vengeful. can be stubborn at times. copes with reality by romanticizing awful things or deluding himself that stakes are low even when they are not. and if that fails, he'll feel compulsions to abandon everything that he's worked for and start over anew... which he has given into at least once. hobbies: has a deep passion for the arts in general. has taken classes for folk singing and multiple instruments during his teens. worked backstage doing music for the mujikoza in his early 20s. enjoys theater but could never see himself taking the spotlight, claiming itd be too stressful. enjoys both pencil illustration and sumi-e painting, particularly when the subject is anything in nature. during MSQ, he learns a little bit from each crafter's guild in eorzea, but ends up enjoying weaving and carpentry the most, bowmaking especially. also keeps a pet lizard.

favorite color: he's a sucker for blue, but also likes a nice bright red. favorite food: unadon (bbq eel over rice) romantic interests: had brief crushes on martyn and aymeric that he never pursued. also developed an attraction to his then-best friend thancred in post ARR. did not pursue him either until post HW, but even then kept it relatively unofficial. it wasnt until late STB that they made things official between them. classes: -had some sojutsu (spear arts) training as a teenager as part of his education, so he uses polearms as his weapon of choice for all of ARR til SHB. begins his dragoon training in ARR as well. -picks up BLU during post ARR just for fun. -picks up DNC during post SHB initially on a whim but later as an outlet for expressing his emotions. -picks up BRD post EW for similar reasons, and also as a way to have a "fresh start" after everything that happened to him during MSQ. -picks up DRK directly after 6.4. initially just wanted to learn swordplay in general while trying to conjure a blade of light at will to defeat zeromus, but his dark magic is warped by the lightcrystal given to him by yshtola in 6.2, essentially becoming a custom class. never actually named by anyone in game (i think?) but my name for it is arch knight, or ARK, based on the ff tactics class.

𝐌𝐀𝐆𝐈𝐂𝐀𝐋 𝐀𝐁𝐈𝐋𝐈𝐓𝐈𝐄𝐒:

MIMETISMO DE GELO — é a capacidade de se transformar ou ter um corpo composto por gelo, criando uma imunidade ao gelo, podendo criar um armamento natural de gelo e uma armadura dérmica, além da capacidade de poder congelar outras formas biológicas com o toque quando está com o corpo dominado pelo gelo. Jorgen também consegue fazer o seu corpo ficar em um construto vivo de diamante, apesar de tomar a forma de um cristal de gelo, essa capacidade lhe dispõe super resistência, invulnerabilidade, força melhorada e supressão de dor, porém o uso dessa parte de sua habilidade inabilita o uso das demais, ou vai acabar lhe causando uma exaustão muito grande. Em ambientes dominados pelo gelo, ele consegue se camuflar e ficar invisível com o uso dessas habilidades.

𝐃𝐀𝐄𝐌𝐎𝐍𝐒:

YONG — de escamas brancas peroladas, tem um corpo esbelto, quase parecido com uma serpente, pescoço longo e chifres em torno da cabeça que parece uma coroa. Tem o tamanho grande no qual Jorgen consegue montá-lo facilmente, as suas chamas são azuladas quase embranquecidas, tem o poder de fogo baixo, mas é uma boa arma para bloquear a visão de quem olhar na direção delas. É uma fêmea, tem uma enorme coleção de fobia: teme o ferro, teme coisas estranhas como insetos, lagartixas, centopéias e fios de seda tingidos em cinco cores diferentes, também tem medo de chuva ou tempestades, coisas que costuma atrair quando está triste ou decepcionada. Gosta de dormir com o toque da luz da lua sobre as suas escamas, é muito sensível e fica magoada muito fácil, por isso que só consegue se dar bem com Jorgen, pois ele é o único que consegue lidar com o seu temperamento delicado. Só tem um único ambiente em que ela possui uma personalidade mais fácil de lidar, no dragonball é extremamente disciplinada, focada e competitiva.

𝐇𝐈𝐒𝐓𝐎𝐑𝐘:

Primeiro, é preciso saber como é a história por trás do nome Jack Frost, sendo ele a personificação da geada e do frio, uma figura lendária élfica pertencente ao folclore do norte da Europa, tem como missão fazer a neve ou criar as condições típicas de inverno, colorir a folhagem no outono e deixar a geada branca nas janelas no inverno. Ele é encarregado de criar as condições para que Papai Noel possa fazer a sua entrega de presentes. A sua origem se dá pelo toque sutil e suave da lua após um acidente gravíssimo, dizem que para ser um guardião é preciso morrer e ser beijado pela lua, mas na verdade, não é apenas a energia lunar que faz com que seja possível nascer um guardião, mas também as ações na vida terrena sob os olhos atentos daquele que pode ser chamado de Homem da lua ou apenas um mago, essa parte é mais parecido com uma lenda, já que ninguém nunca viu a figura mágica existente naquela parte do mundo.

Os guardiões tem o poder de ir além do universo mágico em que se vivem os contos, na verdade, eles são os únicos que fazem a magia ultrapassar a linha que se separam do mundo sem magia, fazendo com que eles sejam capazes de andar por aquela região, protegendo e encantando as crianças para que continuem acreditando neles, em todos eles. Mas, se um guardião nasce de tal forma, como pode existir um filho desse ser mágico?

Um floco de neve, um corpo frio e congelado, e a magia lunar lhe cobrindo por completo, Jorgen nasceu com o nome de Jimin em Seul, Coreia do Sul, não a Coreia mágica que se conhece no universo em que vivem, mas a Coreia sem magia. Ele foi uma criança comum, sonhadora e que acreditou até os seus oito anos, que existiam todos os seres mágicos que diziam que não era possível existir naquele mundo. A sua vida foi curta e muitos ainda choram a sua ausência, Jimin brincava em um lago congelado na Islândia no momento em que todos assistiam as mágicas luzes da aurora boreal, onde dizem que os espíritos seguem a trilha até chegar no paraíso, pois bem, era nesse momento que Jack Frost fazia a sua ronda noturna em busca de crianças que precisavam voltar a acreditar e foi assim que um deslumbre de nostalgia lhe tomou o peito, no exato momento em que passava, mas não foi um sentimento bom, Jimin trocou o olhar com ele e quando fez menção de dizer aos pais que viu um homem flutuando na geada, o gelo se quebrou e ele afundou no lago gelado.

Seu espírito não seguiu aquela trilha, no mesmo lugar em que o gelo se partiu, ele ficou, ofegante e assustado, enquanto via as pessoas desesperadas em busca de um corpo, aquele corpo que nunca seria encontrado. Jack pegou esse corpo, observou ao longe o espírito do garoto ainda perdido com as imagens que tinham a sua frente, então ele fez um grande floco de neve mágico, colocando-o no meio do seu peito e esperando então a luz da lua cobrir todo o corpo do garoto para que fosse possível que o seu espírito o encontrasse. A intenção era apenas levá-lo com ele, fazer com que a morte fosse aceita, mas o homem da lua foi um pouco mais longe, Jimin deixou de ser filho de mortais desacreditados e passou a ser fruto da magia de Jack Frost.

Sim, Jorgen nasceu de um floco de neve e se tornou um futuro para os guardiões, ainda que não entenda em que momento ele seria capaz de ser um novo Jack Frost. Deixou o mundo sem magia e foi designado a ser treinado no mundo mágico, ele precisava entender a importância do seu papel, principalmente quando fosse capaz de ter o seu próprio conto, pois ele teria que fazer um papel duplo, ter uma história forte o suficiente para atrair as atenções e continuar com a missão de proteger e encantar as crianças.

Ao contrário de Jack Frost, Jorgen foi capaz de crescer e envelhecer até que a magia lunar decidisse que não precisava mais, ao alcançar a idade que eles queriam, Jorgen se tornaria eternamente jovem, assim como o seu pai. Nesse caso, com a memória da infância apagada de sua mente e completamente guardada junto a Toothiana, Jorgen cresceu como filho do espírito guardião e possui exatamente as mesmas características que o homem, rebelde e inconsequente, travesso, desinteressado, sujeito a não seguir regras, ama usar seus poderes fora de hora e quase sempre está na detenção, tem um foco na diversão e menos nas obrigações, mas apesar de tudo isso, é gentil e generoso, empático grande parte do tempo, sonhador e romântico, um lado bom que prevalece a rebeldia. E sim, isso afeta demais a relação entre ele e o seu pai, dificultando demais o diálogo e aumentando as chances de discussões acaloradas.
