Life Update!

If anyone has been curious of where I’ve been. I’m in film school!!!!! I graduate next year and it’s been a dream. Tho the college life has been keeping me packed 😮‍💨

I’ve been making tons of movies and silly lil edits. Still dancing and busting a move. Currently working at one of my dream jobs with some crazy talented peeps and am happy to be entertaining people doing what I love!

This year has been a huge growing pain with tons of highs and lows, but I’m so lucky to be surrounded by friends and family who love me so frickin much.

Since the UA days I still continue to be a major fan of the 2 boys. After it ended I did fall into the dsmp pipeline, but have now slowly grown out of it. I still love and adore that time and those silly lil creators sm

As for the future I plan to pursue something with both dance and film. I want to continue to perform while simultaneously doing film things with editing

So if you honestly need a video/film editor for anything hmu!! (I’d love to edit and work with you!)

Heyyyyyy, me again!

I’m on top of today’s letter, surprisingly. My wounds are going great. No more bleeding. By tomorrow I’ll be able to launch my next plan into action. With both direction AND magnitude!

But enough about me. I hear you’re feeling a bit homesick. Hey, I’ve been there. Not a day goes by where I don’t miss my fortress. The moon is great and all, but does it convert in to a frickin’ space shuttle?? I think not.

You’re not wrong for wanting to go back to what you’re comfy with. Y’know, your room, your cats, your own little private space. It’s what you’ve known for most of your life. Nobody should be making you feel bad for needing it. And if watching my feature film helps you cope with it, to HECK with anyone who says you can’t. My movie is GREAT.

God I rlly do hope everything will turn out okay 😭 I've been so overstimulated a majority of today. Marissa (Stephs sis) has been the saving grace of my anxiety today I swear. She made an area away from the dogs for my allergies, and while I still can't breathe properly I'm not sneezing and in pain as much as I was in the other bedroom. Better thing is that it's really quiet in here. I mean, it's the living room, so I might have to tone down if I call, but it's quieter and I don't have to keep a TV running 24-7 in this room, so I don't really HAVE to watch anything so it feels a lot better😞 Like Marissa has been treating me like her son while Steph is kind of being an emotional trainwreck today, no shade to her but I'm a little worried. I'm genuinely concerned if she's experiencing smth thats causing her mood swings and saltiness 😭😭😭

Plus being in the living room means im closer to those cool flashy purple lights by the curtains which is like super duper cool.

I considered calling my dad for a hot minute for him to pick me up, if it weren't for Marissa cheering me up and being nice to me I would've probably called crying asking for him to take me home and that would've ended shitty probably anyways 😭

I'm still bothered that she told me that watching the movie so many times is unhealthy, but also she has some really shitty hot takes so I am trying not to let it get to me. (She's the same person who told me never to fall in love and have sex bc it ruins the love 🤨 like no it doesn't if it's a healthy relationship 😭... just sounds like u need to communicate more???) But like yeah. In short Marissa is saving grace for me rn and I just ate ice cream 😍!!!

PS, I can't wait to hear more of ur plans it'll be so fun. I also can't wait to see u again it'll be great. I'm anticipating ur arrival SM 😭

you know what the worst thing about the whole excluding non-fem people? it's the fact that half the time they don't even specify the gender of the reader. LIKE. i have to take a shot in the dark to even see if i am able to read a fic. AND MAJORITY OF THE TIME I CAN'T!! so i get that icky icky feeling of gender dysphoria when that is the one thing i am trying to escape when i go to read fanfics. SIGHHHH. i swear the amount of times i have had to comment on a post about specifying that the reader's gender is chosen or about a slip up with pronouns/terms is crazy, it should be none!! why is this just not common decency!!!

also you're absolutely right, frick them!! and i know it's not the case but the amount of misgendering when it comes to gn reader fics frickin feels transphobic at this point. AGAIN, I KNOW IT'S NOT, but with how much i come across it not only on Tumblr but ao3 as well, it sure is starting to feel like it. i think i only feel this way because of the amount of times i've heard people tell me that they can't use my correct pronouns because it's "too hard" n stuff. and seeing people slip up so much is triggering that anger i feel when i hear that FOSJEJ

and while you fell asleep, chenle still had to wash the dishes after a meal with the dreamies

so you let out a chocked noise that immediately alerted chenle who returned to see you staring at jaemin like a deer caught in headlights

chenle whined as he pushed jaemin away who retreated with slumped shoulders and a pout don’t worry jaems we love you

and chenle just slips under the blanket and brings you closer to lay down together and soothes you ༶ඬ༝ඬ༶

and he just embraces you, tangling your legs together and hiding your face in the crook of his neck while he runs his fingers through your hair comfortingly chenle would make the best cuddle buddy no take-backs

with chenle’s assurance and tight grip on your body to bring you as close as humanly possible, you fall back asleep as chenle stares fondly at you

mark is his oldest hyung and the supposedly most responsible debatable among them

so how could his leader scare you to tears and then dump your shaking figure for him, the baby, to take care of (ノ-_-)ノ ~┻━┻

jisung could only stare at you as he hovered above your curled up form

he SUPER HESITATINGLY pats your back awkwardly, but you only curl up into yourself even more

mark pushes jisung to sit down beside you and prompts him to comfort you properly and jisung gulps

“sooo, how are you feeling?”

*well done jisung take a guess you sharp tool* (－‸ლ)

mark is just boiling with worry you might just dump jisung after his worryingly poor attempt when your small voice cuts through

“can you please hug me, sung?” (●´^｀●)

jisung.exe has shut down please retry in a moment

but you just slot yourself in his lap and bury your face in his shoulder

jisung.exe is overwhelmed by your cuteness pls spare him

but he eventually wraps his arms around you too and just rubs up and down, occasionally massaging the nape of your neck gently

you just tighten your grip on him in response

and jisung rests his head on top of your head to hide his reddening face away but also to hold you even closer because despite his shy demeanor he cherishes you so so much so please have patience with this baby

so yeah xz and crew weren’t actually supposed to debut according to show rules...i mean i’m glad they debuted obviously bc x9 is x9 but ee media and frickin ldn couldve handled this better...like every member except chen molerat is amazing and great but....WHY DIDNT MaNAGEMENT NOT BLATANTLY RIG THEM INTO THE GROUP

(the only person who could act was baishu), and the story was SO BAD. nevermind the acting, because the boys weren’t initially slated to be actors, but the story was horrible, girl without superpowers suddenly becomes white cult goddess at the end??? WHAT???????? why didn’t ldn just promote them normally !!!!!! are they an actor group or an idol group???? So I watched given the movie last night.

Okay okay okay where do I even start???? It was so, so, so moving oh my goshhhh

191011 SuperM On How Their All-Star Lineup’s Synergy Can Represent ‘The Next Step Of K-Pop’

There is a type of privilege afforded when an artist has reached a certain level of superstardom. Collectively, SuperM has 43 years of experience in the industry while its members appear on six albums to enter the Billboard 200 chart, have performed in sold-out arenas in multiple continents, walked in international Fashion Weeks, snagged roles in highly rated television shows and movies, model as the faces of global brands, and are key parts of some of the Internet’s buzziest boy bands. But as a newly created supergroup of Korean-pop performers, dubbed "the Avengers of K-pop" at their official unveiling this summer, they come to America as, technically speaking, a new group. A boy band with the passionate fandoms they've created in their careers to hopefully fuel a new, unexplored venture targeted at the world's largest music industry.

What that means is hitting the ground running for their debut, being open to opportunities they'd otherwise pass on, and, to an extent, starting over. Even with their established fanbases, a supergroup doesn’t necessarily mean guaranteed or automatic success. A less extreme example would be American quintet Why Don’t We who came together as five young singers with large online followings of his own, with the venture eventually paying off in a Top 10 album and sizable Top 40 radio hits with the boy band going strong today. But in the seven superstars coming together in Taemin of SHINee, Baekhyun and Kai of EXO, Taeyong and Mark of NCT, plus Ten and Lucas of the Chinese-pop band WayV at a time when K-pop is hotter than ever in America, there’s a higher pressure for quick dividends from debut.

Cue Capitol Music Group, the current label home to Katy Perry, Niall Horan and Sam Smith, who teamed up with SuperM’s K-pop powerhouse label SM Entertainment, to make sure this superstar charge has all the power and running impact it can in America. The international hype and accomplishments of this septet warrants a full-fledged backing, but as American audiences tend to crave authenticity and deeper connection from their artists, it begs the question if these seven can be successfully culled together.

At the October 1 press conference in Seoul where the members of SuperM are set to make their first public appearance together, there is a hotel ballroom full of reporters and photographers eager to see the K-pop magic in person—and perhaps also looking for clues on whether this collective works. Backstage before meeting the local press, the seven stars band together with an unexpected playful energy. The most experienced member, Taemin, seems to be the group’s perky epicenter as SuperM’s laughs and smiles begin with him and radiate outward—sometimes delaying interview questions and distracting his other members. With a kindhearted hyung (an honorific term in Korean translating to “older brother” used by Korean males, and here the younger members of SuperM, to address an older male friend), there’s an undeniable camaraderie present. There isn’t a diva or de-facto speaker, all seven appear to work and present themselves as equals.

Space is tight with two large tables for the band and their staff to hang out before meeting the press—and then immediately head to the airport for their flight to America once the conference ends—but there’s still an intimacy. Taemin and Ten pat each other’s backs when sharing compliments about one another, Kai and Mark smirk at each other like they have years of inside jokes together, while the singer newest to the industry, Lucas, looks around at his teammates like true older brothers with a mix of earnest admiration and curiosity at how they’re answering this American reporter.

The feel-good combination of their chemistry is important as the guys’ U.S. schedule saw them doing everything from high-profile appearances on Ellen and holding their own concert on a popular street in Hollywood, while also sitting alongside fans at a press conference and holding a four-hour album signing session at a local Barnes & Noble. Getting such intimate, face-to-face time with K-pop artists is rare—especially the more successful one gets—with the potential success of SuperM indicative of what other strategies international acts could utilize in America for the future. But, crucially, the biggest takeaway from their schedule may just be that this can only work with a team that has a palpable synergy among them like SuperM shows.

Forbes talked with SuperM ahead of the release of their self-titled debut EP, which looks to make a splash on the charts with what could be a Top 10 debut on the Billboard 200, where Taemin, Baekhyun, Kai, Taeyong, Mark, Ten and Lucas shared insight into the collective respect and synergy that radiates between them.

Jeff Benjamin: We’ve heard a lot leading up to SuperM as “the Avengers of K-pop.” In your own words, what is something you feel is unexpected about this group that goes beyond what people know about you already?

Mark: I feel like the combination itself is something people have never expected or thought they would ever see. I think the whole team itself, the assembly of us, is the next step of K-pop. We always thought of that as we prepared. We wanted to take that future step, pave ways for whatever’s yet to come to K-pop. If you come to our showcases, or whatever plans we have ahead of us, you can see the synergy—that itself is unexpected. I think the fans could see something that they never thought they needed before. That feeling of when you see it and realize this is something you could have always vibed to—I feel like that’s part of our job and we’re here to show that wherever we are.

Jeff Benjamin: Take us through the album, what are some of your favorite tracks?

Mark: I, honestly, personally like “2 Fast” the most. I was really honored to be on the song. But not only that, when I heard the demo itself, I really liked the melody, the hook, the feeling of the song.

Kai: So, “Jopping” is a really strong song for a single, but “No Manners” is very easy-listening, very memorable and really gets you moving so that’s why I like that one. I feel like when I heard that one I could see the performance.

Taemin: I like “I Can’t Stand the Rain.” I like it because it has a really oriental feeling to it, an “oriental taste,” it has an essence of Asia. It may be a very calm song, but at the same time I feel like there’s a real performance to it and I can see the performance in it. When you’re listening in your earphones, it may not sound like that, but when you’re watching onstage it’s a different story. K-pop started in Asia and if a song like this is performed in Europe, the States or anywhere in the world, it still has that authenticity.

Ten: Mine would be “Super Car” and “No Manners.” Just like Kai-hyung said earlier, “No Manners” is very groovy and easy to listen to, and “Super Car” is very trendy and the beat is very strong. I feel like we can hype the audience up a bit more with a song like that. “Super Car” and “No Manners” are more my style.

Taeyong: I choose “Jopping,” it’s jumping and popping, right, but the reason why I pick it is because the performance itself is a never-before-seen performance in K-pop, in my opinion. It’s going to stand out.

Jeff Benjamin: As you look around at your fellow members in this supergroup, can you share what you feel is his specific superpower?

Taemin on Baekhyun: He’s a very, very special vocalist. His vocal is so unique that it has the ability to make a synergy between the members all on its own. We have dance songs and ballad songs, but Baekhyun’s voice plays a very important role. That’s a really important speciality of Baekhyun.

Taeyong on Lucas: He’s the maknae [Korean for the youngest] of our group in terms of when he debuted, so he has more energy so those kind of elements bring more fun to the experience.

Ten on Taemin: I always watch my Taemin-hyung [perform], his charm is his movement, but his eye contact is very strong, it’s striking, it sucks you in.

Lucas on Ten: Ten, well, he himself is a charm. [Group laughs] He’s very special in that even in the way he thinks is very charming.

Baekhyun on Kai: The height, the looks, and his dance skills. Enough said.

Kai on Mark: Me being two years younger than Baekhyun is almost a super power in and of itself. [Laughs] But seriously, there are so many things I could say about Mark and if I go on too long we’d never leave. I love his curly hair. He’s very handsome, he’s cute, he’s good at rapping, I almost want to put him on my lap because he’s so cute.

Mark on Taeyong: I see him like every day because he’s on my team, but even though I see him every day, his looks surprise me every time. He looks mad frickin’ good. I think the strongest thing is that he holds a very strong persona and that shows in the performance, in reality as well, and that balances us as a team. He holds a very vital role in every stage of SuperM.

SM3: Nice Jerks are the Worst

I don't know about y'all, but I had big plans for 2020. Now, maybe those big plans will still happen, Idk. But, this was supposed to be our year! - that's what people say, right?? This was the year that you were going to go on that vacation. You were going to drop that dead beat spouse, leave that spouse with the kids, and run off to Mexico, right??!. You were going to start that business. Gain that weight. Come out of the closet. Finally tat that left butt cheek. You were going to stop doing hardcore drugs. Maybe this was going to be your year to start doing hardcore drugs. I'm not here to judge, only to ramble.

But, 2020 quickly turned to shit. Now, we're all looking for someone to blame. Someone has to pay for our horrible haircuts or hairiness, our newfound hatred for our families, and for plenty of much more serious stuff.

I, personally, like to turn to movies for lessons about life. And I think I have the perfect movie to help us figure out who to blame - you guessed it "Spider-Man 3"

This first attempt at a motion picture SM was doing so well. We loved Spidey (though some didn't care for Tobey Maguire, playing him).

Spidey and Mary Jane (Kirsten Dunst) are adorable. Then, this thing showed up and everything turned to shit (not unlike Covid-19).

Let's look into what went wrong, and who is to blame.

First, let me say that I really liked the action in this movie. There are three villains in this movie: Venom (played by Topher Grace), that thing you see above.

Green Goblin (played by James Franco), who is... a green goblin.

And Sandman (played by Tommy Church), who has a body that is now kinda made of sand - which seems silly if you pick it a part... though so does a man with the powers of a spider.

There was lots of action, and it was all shot well. There is one action scene where there is NO ONE around... I mean NO ONE. It's frickin NY. Peter Parker (not dressed as Spider-Man) and Green Goblin are causing all kinds of damage and making a lot of noise, and not ONE new yorker has anything to say about it? Unless you're a healthcare worker, I bet new yorkers are still cursing at each other from their homes. This was glaring, but Imma let it slide, cuz the action was good.

That's about all of the good I have to report:)

Quick plot recap:

1) MJ and Petey are on the rocks 2) James Franco is an asshole, trying to destroy Peter for killing his father (which he didn't) 3) Venom is trying to kill Spidey (what else is new??) 4) Venom, at one point, infects Peter Parker, to become "Black Spidey" - this, of course, is also when the people of the city started to hate him.

5) Oh, and Peter, mm! He's the worst. I've got something for him later.

There are two major reasons why people talk shit about this movie.

1st - Casting/Characters

Nobody is likeable in this movie

From the very first scene, MJ is singing to us, annnnd it's sooooo boring. I don't think it was supposed to be. Someone in the audience should have been booing. We can’t just allow entertainers to get comfortable, thinking that they can do whatever the hell that they want! - that’s how you end up with stuff like this

It was like, if Snow White were to perform a number for a large crowd.

Just Snow White - I ain't talking about no cute animals around or the suspense of menacing dwarves that might turn on Snow White at any moment. Not even a prince who might be gay (that’s the word on the streets). Just a long movie filled with songs from Snow White; that's what we're talking about. First, MJ bores me, then she's pathetically whining throughout the whole movie.

Sandman is cool (despite his love for striped shirts), but we don't really get to know him.

Side note: He gets his powers by accidentally getting trapped in a science experiment. The scientists, btw, ( And Lord knows what they were up to) knew that something could have been trapped in there, assumed it was a bird, and kept on going. See, this is why certain people don't trust y'all.

Venom doesn't really have a personality (and his host... well, he ain't no Tom Hardy)

PLUS, Peter Parker is a dick (again, we'll get to that later).

The most likeable person in this film is JJ Jameson, and we're not really supposed to like him.

A person with that look shouldn’t be your most likeable character.

Look at this stage -

Who is likeable up here? Fauci, maybe? But, betting by the amount of times that he puts his hands to his face,

- there are things he's not allowing himself to say, so though perhaps likeable, if we can fully trust him. And as far as Trump... Even Trump supporters can't HONESTLY say that they LIKE the man (I mean, if he weren't the prez, would you honestly want him around? - your family?). They certainly can't say that they trust him - though I guess the amount of people looking into ingesting cleaning products after Trump mentioned something along those lines, would beg to differ.

This is the group we're looking to for direction?!

And this is also a problem in the movie. I have to be able to like SOMEBODY!

I need to be able to trust someone to stop the cheesy-written shit storm that is this movie.

2nd - dance numbers!

I actually didn't mind the first one, when Peter is dancing through the streets.

Ha! Wow, he is going for it. Come get it while it’ s hot, ladies!

It's odd, but it's supposed to be. It's supposed to be funny, and it kinda is. You ever dance a lil bit while you're out at a store? I know I do; especially now that we're wearing pandemic masks - no one knows who I am. NBD to dance a bit in public, but if you keep going passed a certain point, it just becomes annoying.

That's why the second dance number is bad. Plus, it doesn't make any sense.

At this point MJ and Peter have broken up. She's singing in a bar, and Peter interrupts her song with a dance number (while using his new girlfriend to poke at MJ). Now, While MJ’s songs of boredom deserve interruption, she didn’t deserve that.

Venom is like a drug. Venom brings out the worst in a person. You're telling me that Peter Parker, with all of the rage built up from Uncle Ben and villains and his life not being all that great; the best or I should say "the worst" that he can do is Jazz hands? With all of his superpowers, he should be out there slaughtering everyone in sight. I mean, he did slap the shit out of MJ though (by "accident"). That's when he snapped out of the evil dance number. I don't know what kind of message that sends.

"MJ, it wasn't until I slapped the holy hell out of you that I realized the error of my ways, so... thank you? I'm just going to go on about my day now."

I see this misguided scene as a metaphor. Peter Parker is dancing around his issues:

His relationship with MJ has been bad. He's on that stuff (Venom). And honestly, MJ knows that he's Spider-Man. Why couldn't he have just explained to her what was happening?

"Sorry, baby. I got possessed by an alien again, you know how it is."

And he was dealing with the fact that the person who killed his uncle is on the loose. Another side note: MJ, even though they had just broken up, still cares for Peter while he's dealing with the news about Uncle Ben's killer. That's a damned good friend right there! - especially the way Peter had been acting towards her.

We've got to deal with stuff, people! We can't just get bad haircuts, wear weird clothes, and do drugs! Eventually, that will lead us to slapping the shit out of someone that we love. There are a lot of realities that we're prob not facing at the moment (and some we prob have no intentions of ever facing). A lot of things that we could have done to prevent certain things from escalating, but... we were busy doing our typical dance.

Peter was warned about Venom and did nothing about it. He told himself, "I got this", and clearly he didn't. Honestly, the whole city was screwing up by not helping Spider-Man at all. At the end, when the big fight is happening, and MJ is near death, everybody is just watching all of this go down. Where were the cops?! The S.W.A.T?! Other superheroes? New Yorkers themselves! - they're bold! But, to be fair, Venom came from outer space, so... it was a bit unprecedented; people were prob scared. I'll cut them and Spidey some slack.

You know who I won't cut any slack - Tobey Maguire's Peter Parker!

Peter Parker is a jerk. I'm thinking that Tobey's Peter Parker has always been a jerk; a nice jerk, but a jerk. Have you ever met a nice jerk? They do all of the things that a regualr jerk does, but they'll rationalize their behavior, and look puzzled when you react to their awfulness. I didn't notice this in the 1st movie, cuz I was just happy to get Spider-Man. I didn't notice in the 2nd movie, cuz those kids were just too darn cute. But, his niceness was so annoying in this movie. And he treated MJ horribly : He never listens to her, he’s always late, he only talks about himself, he’s too damned nice, he never knows when they’re in a fight, he kisses other women right in front of her and then is like “What did I do?”

I kept wanting her to punch Peter out; he would have deserved it.

The foundation of the character of the 1st Spider-Man was a problem from the start! If the foundation is shaky, then - whew! I'm glad that we finally fixed it:)

Plus, he never said he was sorry. He did one of those "Well, I'm not perfect." things. She ain't asking for perfection, just quit being a jerk!

A better movie would have been if MJ had been infected by Venom. For starters, she would have given a better performance, in the beginning. Something more like this -

She would have banged Peter's friends. She would have destroyed her critics. And most importantly, she wouldn't have taken any shit from Peter. That could have been the main plot. Instead of a convultued blend of three villains around the nice jerkiness of Peter, it would have been Spider-Man vs MJ - beatening each other up all throughout the city; though I guess that would be considered domestic violence. But, why dance around real issues out there!

It could have been a family-friendly movie about drug abuse (Venom) and domestic violence... and possibly some make-up sex in the middle of the city. But, after that, one of them, if not both, are going to jail! We gotta deal with the problems, people!

Grade: an entertaining D+

I did enjoy it. It wasn't as bad as I remember it, and I'd prob watch it again. But, I can't deny that on a technical level, it's crap.

"Who’s to blame?" isn't really the question. It's more "Who deserves what percentage of the blame?" There's a lot of blame to go around here... even to us who enabled Peter's jerkiness in the first two movies.

I like the direction that we're going in now.
