03/03/24 Twitter Space Recap (2/2)
After the other Twitter Space which I already made a recap for, Martin, Eva ("Bon" and Bon's VA), Coral (Susan's VA), and Kyle (Boozoo & Charles' VA) reconvened for another space, this time with a Q&A focus, later in the day. This one was really long, and they talked about a lot, but I've summarized it here to the best of my ability:
-Someone asks "What would Jenny major in college? Because it's implied that she's in college." Martin answers (reiterating an answer he gave in a previous Space) that she studies psychology. Coral chimes in to say that they think Jenny would understand Sophie and her trauma a lot better for it, and Martin agrees, saying "Yeah, yeah, I think Jenny has a really good understanding of how Sophie thinks because of that."
-Someone asks "Hypothetically, which Tyler, The Creator album would be Sophie's favorite?". Martin answers that he thinks it would be Flower Boy.
-"When Jack and Rosemary argue, Jack sleeps on the couch and he goes to Molly, and he goes like 'Hey, could you go pick that up for me? I don't want to enter the room,' 'cause, like, whenever Rosemary is mad she's actually really scary. So Jack just doesn't- doesn't get involved. He just sleeps on the couch."
-Eva goes, "Martin, didn't we agree before that if Sophie and Brian ever met, Sophie would just kick his ass?". Martin answers, "Yeah, Sophie would hate Brian."
-"Okay, here's a Jophie fact, Jophie wasn't even supposed to be, like, an actual relationship, at first. Originally, it was gonna be, like, they would gradually start dating as the series went on. But then, we were like, Y'know what, it's way easier if they are already a couple... Imagine if you're going through the animatronic drama, and simultaneously it's just these two girls falling in love, in the middle of all that shit."
-"Will Richie appear again?" At this point the battery in Martin's phone has died, but nobody has noticed, so Eva steps in to answer, "Martin has had plans to bring Richie back for more stuff, but he hasn't really done anything with him yet, but I dunno." Kyle says he doesn't remember who Richie is, which is really funny to me.
-Someone asks if either Sophie or Jenny would like Weezer, and Coral says they think Jenny would like them unironically, but Sophie would like something like Buddy Holly ironically. Martin answers, "Y'know, I think Sophie- I've always thought that Sophie isn't the kinda person to like- like, experimental or artistic stuff too much, because she's like a very- a person that gets confused very easily. So, she would listen to stuff like Weezer and she would think internally, like, 'what the fuck is this?', but she'd go like "Oh, this is fire, Jenny, I love- I love it."'
-Kyle says he thinks it's important for Jenny to be a bit of a loser, in an endearing way. Eva slightly disagrees, saying Jenny would probably be the cool one between them, while Sophie is an absolute loser. Martin says, "I was trying to say, before we change the subject, the way I see it is that, to me, Sophie has a lot of like, street smarts, and Jenny is more like a very dorky person that probably just, like, lived a very normal and fulfilled life, y'know? She just, like, lived in the suburbs, with supporting people in her life. I think Sophie, yeah, she's kind of loser, but I think, in a way, in my opinion I think Sophie's a little braver than Jenny is. I've always seen them like that."
-Coral says, "I feel like Sophie wouldn't really know how to emote properly." and Martin says, emphatically, that she doesn't. Coral describes a scenario where Jenny is upset or scared by something, and is crying. and how Sophie would try her best to comfort her, but would really not know what to do, and would struggle immensely in a situation like that. Martin adds an anecdote, "Yeah, no, I-I told this to Eva one time, Sophie doesn't cry. Jenny has never- has never seen Sophie cry, ever."
-Eva says, "I think, like, um- [Sophie's], like, lack of really, like, full awareness of what's going on for episode 3- like, seeming really 'dead', the whole time, is like- while it could be seen as like, bad writing, it- I think it also can be taken as a part of her character. And that's also, like, further emphasized in future episodes, and here emotions are just, like really--" and Coral interrupts, saying, "No offense to Martin, but I feel like it's a mix of both."
Martin says, ""Yeah, it's a mix of both. It- the intention of making her seem like someone who wasn't really 'in there', at the time, someone who wasn't really like, aware of what's going on, is just like, barely even phased by it, was there, but it was just mostly bad writing. The way I see it is that, back then I didn't trust the series as much as I trust it now, so I was always making sure that people would understand stuff the way that I intended it to, and that resulted in Sophie just saying everything out loud. Like, 'this is very weird!'"
-Eva talks for a bit about how she gets frustrated when Crystal, Sophie's VA, gets criticism over her performance, when the problem really laid with Martin's writing. She says that one of her favorite aspects of Crystal's performance as Sophie is that she sounds very childlike, not in the way of her actually being a child, but in seeming very much like someone who never really grew out of being a child.
On this topic, Martin says, "Or- to me, more like Sophie being someone who never grew out of being a child- is someone who was forced to grow up very quickly. So, so she doesn't know how to be- she didn't get to know how to be a child, but she didn't get to know how to be an adult, either. So she's, like, stuck and is constantly- she doesn't really know what to do most of the time, because- she doesn't really understand what she's supposed to do and how she's supposed to do things."
-Eva says, "Sophie is like, probably one of the most interesting characters in the series to me, and I can't wait for her to come back, 'cause she's so interesting." and Martin responds, "Oh, yeah! I really- because I think if she comes back, she's gonna feel so different, with like, the new style of writing, and stuff. I think, um, something I really like about Sophie is that, uh, I really like how people think of Sophie like this fucking girl- oh, I mean, back in the day, I don't know how it is now, but back in the day people would think Sophie would be like, this very soft and shy person, but, no, in a way, Sophie's a very mean person! She's like, something I always thought about when it comes to her character is that she is- she has so many weak, like, social skills, that she usually gets very defensive with anybody."
-Eva talks about how Sophie is definitely a very walled-off and antisocial person, and how she tends to push people out of her life, aside from Jenny, and Martin says, "And, like, Sophie fucking hated Jenny at the beginning. [laughing] Like, she didn't hate her, but I remember telling you specifically how they met, and it took a while- not- not a while-while, but it took some time for Sophie to get used to Jenny, and actually start developing feelings for her." Coral compares the evolution of their relationship to the process of taming a feral cat.
-Eva says, "Someone said, 'What animal would Sophie be if she was an animal,' I think she'd be a deer." Martin says, "I think she'd be a WOLF! A WEREWOLF!" Kyle says he thinks if Sophie is a deer, Jenny should be a moose.
-Martin reads a question, "'Besides painting, what other art does Rose make?' Okay, this was an idea from back when Coker was part of the team, that, we wanted to make, like, a third Showstopper album, which was going to be songs composed by Rose. So, Rose was kind of like a songwriter."
-Eva says, "Someone asked for a Richie fact, and asked if he's friends with Chris." Martin hems and haws, going "Oh, I wanna talk about it, but I don't know if I should!", but then says, "Yeah, they're friends."
Kyle says he thinks they would hold hands, "In a platonic way, because it's cold outside." Martin jokes, saying, "I think they would hold hands... in a romantic way!"
-Martin reads a question, saying he thinks Kyle would enjoy answering it, "Is Felix Kranken religious? If so, what's his religion?", and Kyle says he has an idea that Felix isn't religious and never has been, but during his lowest moments in life, he prays. "He is an incredibly superstitious person, so when the going gets really bad, all he can think to do is drop to his knees, and just home that somebody's listening."
Martin says, "The Waltens actually- I mean, Sophie, Edd, and Molly aren't, but Jack and Rosemary are Christian." Eva jokes that she thinks Edd & Molly are Satanists.
-Coral asks what everything thinks is the worst thing Edd & Molly have done, and Martin says, "From the top of my head, like something I'm just making up, I really think something they would do, is they would buy all of Jack's socks, and change them for smaller ones so they don't fit his feet. So he has to go to work with, like, really tiny socks."
-Eva reads a question, "Where's Brian Stells hiding? Like, where's his spirit hiding." Martin and Eva both say that they think his ghost lingered around for a while, but that he probably just died. Like, nothing special happened to his ghost. Eva shares an idea she has, that Bon probably realized, at some point while killing Brian, that he wasn't Sophie, but continued to mutilate him out of anger that he wasn't her.
-Martin goes, "What do you think made him realize [that Brian wasn't Sophie]? I like to think that Bon looked at him, and was like, 'wait, Sophie's not fucking blonde, is she?', and he took like three seconds to remember."
-Eva reads, "Can we get a CyberTelly fact?" and Kyle answers, "CyberTelly used to be a car salesman before he joined Bon's Burgers."
-Eva goes, "Wait, Martin, didn't we agree at one point that Bon would have a ridiculous amount of exes? He's like Ramona Flowers?" and Martin laughs and agrees emphatically. He says, "So fucking funny- Bon has a fucking ex-wife that's literally just a female version of Bon. Like, Bon with a pink bowtie."
-Eva says, "Someone just asked, 'What's Richie's last name', can we just come up with the stupidest last name for him on the spot?". They spitball a bunch of really stupid answers, and land on "Richie Ratterson".
-Martin reads a question, "'Are we going to see Showbear's replacement in 5 & 6?' Yep!"
-They start talking about how Felix has a new voice actor, but at the time of the Space, they hadn't actually told him yet, that he had been picked to be Felix's new VA. They invite him to the stream and tell him live! He's very thankful and very surprised. You can find him on Twitter Here!
-Martin posted this (and deleted it after five seconds) to celebrate Felix's new voice actor. Isn't it nice don't you guys love it
Tumblr media
After posting this he kept going "Toxic Yaoi!" in a very sing-song way.
-Coral complains that they never got kissing art when they became a VA for The Walten Files, so Martin drew this for them, and again deleted it after a couple seconds:
Tumblr media
-Coral talks about a while about how, just before the Space, everyone speaking in the space (minus Connor, Felix's new VA) watched the finished portions of TWF6. They gush for a bit about just how good it was, and how nice it was to see everyone's hard work come together and how glad they are that everyone seems so proud of and happy with the episode.
-Martin answers a question, "Please, Martin, can you draw Felix and "Bon", I'll take it over Jelix, please don't draw that again," with, "Don't worry, don't worry, you're going to see Felix and "Bon", eventually."
-Martin talks for a bit about how he found out PepsiCo supports Israel, and how mad he is, because in Bon's Burgers there's a Pepsi ad on the wall, and it's in virtually every scene, and can't be removed. He apologizes preemptively, saying "I created that map before being made aware of that, so I'm sorry in advance for that."
-In the last minute of the space, Martin attempts a lightning round Q&A session, answering as many questions as he can as quickly as he can. Here are those answers:
-"Would Jenny listen to Ska? Okay, sure, why not."
-"Do Derek Collins and/or Frank Davis appear in 5 or 6? Yeah, Derek appears."
-"Would Sophie be an Undertale fan? No."
-My audio blipped out this part of the recording, so I can't transcribe it, but someone asked who would win in a fight, Jack or Susan. Martin initially answered Jack, but after thinking about it for another moment, decides Susan would probably win.
-"Is Susan and cat or dog person? Probably cat."

If you just want the song analysis, skip to the next banner. However, I do think the context added by my rambling is at least interesting.
Hey, so remember how yesterday, I opened my analysis post with a comment about how I try to analyze the songs without analyzing Taylor Swift's life, because I feel it's limiting to my ability to understand the song. It's not a form of analysis I'm very good at either, frankly.
I feel like that comment goes especially so for But Daddy I Love Him. Because I was certainly there for the rat-filled fortnight, as in, he literally played guitar for Phoebe Bridgers at my show. And there's a lot I could say that has already been said, more eloquently and by people far more qualified.
I'm a biology student, not a sociologist. But as an Indigenous woman, there is a level of hurt that comes from the people we admire tolerating racism within their spaces, and how that can often play into revealing a pattern of behavior. On the opposite hand, I can see the annoyance (and indignation) that she was held more accountable for his actions than he was. Indeed, I believe that this is what the line "[My good name] is mine alone to disgrace" refers to. On the other, other hand, the whole situation leaves a powdery, bad taste in my mouth.
And now to never talk about that again, because I don't feel qualified to give you a conclusion on it. I'm still listening to the music, after all. The rest of my analysis will be from the perspective of the song as a story, not as diary, my preferred modus operandi.
I wanted to say all that as set up in: I didn't know what to think about this song. I was unsure what angle I wanted to talk about this song from, because divorcing it from the backlash was hard. She literally says "Scandal does funny things to pride," and we'll talk about that later.
Initially, I thought about covering against the grain readings. Recontextualizing the song completely, giving it a new meaning. I thought about maybe covering the history of forbidden romance as a genre (and its many evolutions, from ironically, interracial love stories to queer romance.) I even thought about talking about the Little Mermaid, tying the song into one of the pieces of iconic fiction, and tying that back into the idea of forbidden romance as a queer reading of straight fiction (Howard Ashman, the lead lyricist for Disney, ostensibly the heart of the Disney Renaissance, was a gay man whose partner accepted his Oscar after he had passed due to AIDs.)
And... none of that worked. There are like, five versions of this post in my google docs that will never see the light of day.
Sitting in standstill traffic trying to leave last night's Hozier concert, I finally came to a conclusion. Well, I didn't. Jean, who's previously helped me on both Little Tortured Poet's Department and My Boy Only Breaks His Favorite Toys, made a comment that "Without the rest of the album, [But Daddy I Love Him] reads like any 2003 emo song about a sleazy bassist. Sure, we know better, but the singer doesn't."
And that got me thinking: TTPD is an album that is very much in conversation with itself, and Taylor's discography as a whole. I said, "How much does not knowing that wider context change the song?" That's an angle to analyze, baby!
Tumblr media
alternative title that wouldn't leave my mind: Dark AU!Love Story, don't like don't read
But Daddy I Love Him is, out of the whole album, the song that benefits from context the most. It is petulant, petty, the speaker digging in her heels on the subject of true love. Indeed, Scandal does funny things to pride. I jokingly referred to it as "Dark Love Story," but the songs are foils ( and likely intentionally, since both songs have to the singer begging "Daddy" to let her have her lover. It also makes sense to foil one of her most popular songs, so that general audiences are likely to make the connection. )
We, the audience, know that the Speaker's romantic interest isn't good for her. We don't like him, because likely, we've already listened to the previous songs on the tracklist, and he's already clearly hurt the singer. The prelude (in the CD and Vinyl booklets) refers to the album as one story, which helps set up this framework in the listener's mind.
However, even in the context of the song, there are scant hints of this. The Speaker, with her rose colored glasses firmly on, still refers to her lover as "crazy."
There's also an interesting tie to her older works, known affectionately on Reddit as Car Lore in the use of cars as metaphor for romance. To quote the seminal essay by u/Alex_Demote, "But for Taylor, being in a car is often the same thing as being in a relationship."
Here, the speaker's lover "[floors] it through the fences" at her request and they only hear "screeching tires and true love" His actions are incredibly dangerous. Even if she's told him to slam through the fence, anyone who actually loves her would say no. A joy ride isn't worth risking your life.
By literal laws of physics, screeching tires are tires that aren't moving. Whether the speaker knows it or not, this romance won't go anywhere, or if it does... well.
I'm an Aston Martin that you steered straight into the ditch (imgonnagetyouback) / Loving him is like driving a new Maserati down a dead-end street (Red) / You were driving the getaway car, we were flying but we’d never get far (Getaway Car)
Though, do we know it's a car? Obviously, this is Car Lore I'm applying here, but our only other references to a land vehicle (aside from the Aston Martin, which is The Speaker) are in So High School, which has it's own parallels to But Daddy I Love Him, see below, and in imgonnagetyouback:
Whether I'm gonna be your wife or / Gonna smash up your bike, I haven't decided yet
And here comes my main point: Driving a car through a fence is reckless, yes, but not likely to be fatal. A bike? A bike? It's only with the context of the rest of the album that the danger our speaker was in comes into clear view. In the song itself, the Speaker only knows he's a bit of a troublemaker, but doesn't mind. She is either blind to the truth of the matter, or looking past it. After all, my boy only breaks his favorite toys. She'd rather burn her whole life down.
But, at the end of the song, her parents "came around" and while the "wine moms are still holding out," the Speaker seems quite happy to be "his lady." Time does give some perspective, but this song doesn't: though the final chorus could be reframed as about a new lover (as she says "Fuck 'em, it's over,") it still reads like everything worked out with her "wild boy."
Like I said on Down Bad, the songs on TTPD are slices of time. This song is the Speaker in a state of blind love, a poisoned honeymoon phase, and without the rest of the album of hindsight, the song just reads... Mean. The teenage prank of "I'm having his baby," refusing to "come to [her] senses," and even referring to herself as "not growing up at all," slamming through fences that someone else will have to fix. It's the exact kind of pettiness that a sixteen year old might pull.
Hey, speaking of sixteen: So High School. If But Daddy I Love Him is a dark take on forbidden love, So High School is its antidote, is that quintessential Boy Meets Girl, and plays deeply into high school cliches. It's also the only other mention of a land vehicle, to my knowledge. The speaker's infatuated with how her lover, "Got [her] car door, isn't that sweet?"
The other, very teenager-y love song on the record is so opposite. It's cheerful, and most importantly, the singer realizes it too. So High School serves to further contextualize But Daddy I Love Him as the speaker's attempt at a rebellious stage, and the rest of the album is her showing how it all crashed and burned.
Conclusion? Her daddy might love him, but he does NOT have land vehicle proficiency. And context can give far more perspective than time ever could.

Christmas Miracle pt. 2 - Chris Four Years Later
AN: Nothing but cute fluffy Christmas content ahead, I loved it! Not as emotional as part 1 but I wanted to go for cute :)
“Can I help you finish anything babe, I have everything finished upstairs for the surprise later,” Chris says softly, stepping up behind you in the kitchen.
“Nope, everything else just needs to go in the oven for set times.  I am getting ready to do that now and then we just wait for our family to join us,” you say softly, moving to pull a couple baking dishes out of the fridge now that the oven has preheated.
Once everything is in the oven Chris moves to pull you into a tight hug, wanting to feel close to you while you get Christmas dinner ready for your families to join you shortly. He still can’t believe this is your fourth Christmas since the two of you finally got together, that it has been just over a year since the two of you got married.  And now the two of you have your own little one on the way, he finally is having the life that he has wanted to have with you for years and he couldn’t be happier honestly.
“How are you feeling today? I noticed you sneak off to the bathroom a couple times already this morning, is the morning sickness bad today?” He asks you softly, knowing that you were trying to hide it from him when you did get sick.  You hate it when he worries about you, when he worries about it.
“Yeah, today has been bad again.  They told me after 12 weeks it was supposed to get better but it has not been getting any better, I’m also extremely exhausted honestly,” you admit softly. “It is going to be hard to hide it when all the family are here later, but at least we don’t need to hide it for much longer.  I think everyone was suspicious at Thanksgiving.”
“Nah, everyone bought it when I said you had food poisoning and stayed home.  You however are going to want to go put on something baggier, your little belly is showing and while it isn’t much I think your mom would probably notice,” he says to you.  His hand moves to rest on your stomach and rub it softly before backing away so that you can do just that.
“Yeah, I have a sweater I was going to put on that is a bit baggy to hide it.  And really, your mom is the one who notices everything.  I could look at you weird and she could figure out what is wrong,” you joke, kissing his cheek before you stand back up and make your way to your room to slip on your Christmas sweater and then make your way back down to the kitchen.
“You aren’t wrong, I didn’t even tell her when I was going to propose and she figured it out by herself.  Woman is going to predict her own death before it happens I swear,” he jokes with you, giving you a smile before pulling you down on his lap.
“It has been hard not telling anyone, I want to share it but I didn’t want to risk it before we hit the 12 weeks.  Plus isn’t it only fitting that now we announce everything at family Christmas? Our first kiss, us getting engaged, the next year getting married right before christmas, and now our baby.  It is going to be hard to come up with something new to tell them next year,” you say with a giggle, thinking back on the past few years.
“The band knows simply because I had to warn them we have to quit touring at the end of June so I can be here for the birth and a while after.  We all agreed we’d take that time off the rest of the year to work on the new album so I can stay home,” he smiles at you. “They were all really happy for us, Vinny making a joke that dad is finally going to be a dad.”
“Why does that not surprise me honestly with him,” you get cut off from your thoughts when the doorbell rings.
“I better get that, I will see you soon mama,” he says leaning in to give you a kiss before standing up and kneeling in front of you. “And you too baby,” he says before leaving a soft kiss on your belly before standing up and making his way to the front door to let both families in.
Your timer goes off while you listen to everyone greet each other in the other room so you move from your chair to go to the oven and pull everything out, the smells instantly hitting you.  The second everything is out of the oven you make your way to the bathroom where you find yourself vomiting again, for the third time that day, tears streaming down your cheeks.
A moment later you hear the bathroom door open and then shut again before your husband is behind you, pulling your hair out of your face in one hand while rubbing your back with his other.
“I told them that you spilled something on yourself, that you would be back down in a minute or two. Are you okay baby?” He asks you softly when you stop, your stomach finally settling some.
“Yeah, I’ll be fine.  The smell of everything when I opened the oven got to me . You can go back out there. I’ll brush my teeth quickly and then be back,” you say softly, slowly standing up to start doing just that after he steps out of the bathroom.
When you walk back out your mother pulls you into a hug, followed by your sister and the rest of both families.  Everyone happy to be getting time with the two of you, to be spending another Christmas together.  Technically this is the first Christmas where you are all one family now that you and Chris are married, officially bringing both families together.
“Chris wasn’t joking that work is wearing you down lately, you have such bad dark circles dear.  Hopefully after the holidays it’ll be better for you,” his mom says as she pulls you into a hug.
You wondered what he was telling his family to explain your obvious exhaustion, he is really smart.  That is a great excuse actually. “Yeah, it always is rough this time of year but after the first it shouldn’t be too bad.”
You smile at her, watching all your family mingle for a couple minutes before you let them know that Christmas dinner is done if they all want to make their way to the dining room to eat.  You are trying so hard to not let it show that the smells of the food is bothering you again, hoping that nobody notices that anything is up with you.
“Thank you for hosting this year you two, this really is a lovely meal y/n,” Chris’ mother says with a smile once everyone is sat down with a plate of food at the table.
“Of course, thank you for letting me help,” you respond.  Raising your own wine glass for the toast that she is proposing, pretending to take a sip when everyone else around you does.
You also pretend that you are eating dinner with them all, taking a few bites of what you know is safe but moving everything else around to try and make it look like you are eating when in all actuality you aren’t having that much.  You don’t want to risk anyone figuring out what is going on before you are ready to announce it to them, Chris has it all planned out and you don’t want to ruin it for him.
“So what do you two have up your sleeve this year? You keep throwing us for a loop every Christmas,” you mom suddenly asks, you almost choking on your food at her question.
“Mom, really?” You groan, now coughing slightly as Chris rubs your back, comforting you after you are caught completely off guard with her question.
“Well, it is valid,” your sister says, giving you side eye from next to her boyfriend.  She thinks she knows what is up with you now, noticing that your wine glass is still completely full and you never turn down wine.  She also noticed that Chris is watching you closely, he always has but it seems to be a bit more in a protective way than usual.  She has suspicions that you are pregnant, but she won’t say anything until you do because it is not her secret to tell… and because she may be wrong.  She wouldn’t be shocked if you are, she knows that your entire life you have always dreamed of being a mother, of having children of your own to take care of.
“Can we just finish eating before you all grill us, I would like to eat without having to worry about my wife choking on her food,” Chris jokes, glancing at your family. He knows at this point he can’t deny that you have something to tell them but he also won’t straight up admit that there is anything either.
“I think that is fair,” his sister Jennifer says, smiling at the two of you.  She always has had your back through the years when your families have pushed things on the two of you, like the years they were trying to get the two of you together.  The two of you have always been decent friends yourselves so you are thankful to have her on your side.
Everyone drops the subject, talking about random things as they all continue to eat dinner with one another.  Enjoying the company of both families as they sit around the table.  You can’t help but smile, taking a couple photos as people are distracted so that you have them for your memories.
“Okay, we’re all done eating so I guess I can tell you something now,” Chris teases, getting up from the table to go and show your family the surprise that he has spent the last week working on preparing for them.
“I have been working on a project for about a week in one of the spare bedrooms, and I am struggling, I don’t quite like how it is going, can I get your opinions on it?” Chris asks, looking mostly at your mothers but meaning everyone.
“You want us to help you decorate a spare bedroom?” His brother Nick questions, finding the entire situation odd.
“Well yeah, it’s kind of a surprise for y/n how I did it, I haven’t let her see it yet either.  So if you all will follow me you can tell me if it is good enough to show her yet,” Chris rushes his words, more so excited to one, tell his family that you two are expecting and two, finally show you the nursery he has been painting and putting together all week.  He wanted to do it for you, to surprise you and do something nice for you and the baby.
Everyone stands up and starts following him upstairs, you included before he stops outside of the bedroom the two of you agreed would be the nursery.
“Mom and Mom, why don’t you two open the door and look first,” he says, backing away from the door so your mothers could be the first ones to open it and find out the big secret.  Moving to stand next to you behind everyone while they all slowly walk in, taking in the room for a moment while his hands rest on your belly again.
“Well I feel dark purple is a weird color for a nurs…. Wait, are you?” His mom cuts off and asks before turning to look at the two of you, realization hitting her at what this room is.
“Yeah ma, y/n’s pregnant,” Chris says with a big smile, excited that both families have finally figured it out, cheering and moving to give both of you big hugs, celebrating with you.
“Is this sonogram yours then?” Your mother asks when she notices the little photo in a frame on the dresser in the room, picking it up to look at it.
“Yes, we’ve already had the first ultrasound, that was about a week ago.  We are 13 weeks now, due in July,” you answer her. Watching as she shows it to Chris’ mother, both of them now with happy tears on their cheeks.
You eventually manage to get your families away from the room and settle in the living room, but not before both your mothers made you lift up your shirt and let them touch your barely there bump.  For whatever reason they think they need to do so, making you slightly uncomfortable at the action but knowing you will have to get used to it.  Hell it still is weird to you when Chris randomly wants to touch it, sit there with his hands resting on it.
You all exchange some gifts downstairs and spend time together before both families leave, but not before your own mother looks at you and goes “Told you that the two of you would be together and make your own family one day.”
You hug her and roll your eyes, thanking her for coming as well as everyone else in both families but glad that you and Chris are finally alone for the night.
“So, did you like the nursery mommy?” He asks you, hoping that you enjoyed what he did to it.  That was your first time seeing it since he started setting it up, and he was nervous about what you would think.
“I loved it, thank you dad,” you say softly, giving him a light kiss as you both sit on the couch in front of the Christmas tree. “You know, next Christmas will be just as special, babies first Christmas.”
“I think we need to stop giving our mothers Christmas surprises though, pretty sure one of these years we are going to kill them with a heart attack,” he jokes, watching you move to lay your head in his lap while you lay down on the couch.  One of his hands move to play with your hair while the other rests on your stomach, wanting to be close to both of you.
“I have something for you though, here,” you reach onto the table next to you, pulling an envelope off the table before laying back down on his lap.
“What’s this?” He asks, looking down at you curiously before he starts to open it.
“Remember how we wanted to find out what we are having so we did the bloodwork to know early? The results came the other day but I kept it for tonight, wanting it to be our own little Christmas gift. So let’s find out what we are having together,” you say softly, encouraging him to open the envelope and look at the results.
“Are you ready to know baby? We are having a baby….. Girl,” he says softly, some happy tears forming in his eyes when he reads the results to you, a big smile forming on his face before he helps you sit up so he can kiss you. Both of you smiled into it while you were surrounded by the joy of knowing what your little one would be, that you got to find out together on a holiday that means so much for the two of you.
When he pulls away you notice a couple of the tears that you saw forming in his eyes have fallen and you brush them away from his cheeks, your own starting to fall. “And they say the mother is usually more emotional while pregnant,” you tease him.
“You knew I was hoping for a little girl that I could spoil like I do her mommy… thank you, this was the best gift you could have given me this year,” he says softly.
“I would thank you but I’m the one stuck doing all the work,” you tease, giving him another kiss before moving back to how you were laying before.
“Can I make a Santa Baby joke or is it too early for me to start making dad jokes?” Chris asks with a laugh, you just roll your eyes and don’t answer.  You know you could never stop the dad jokes, but you wouldn’t trade your husband for anything.

Note
for your next music recs post i got a few:
1. “rabbit heart (raise it up)” by florence + the machine is a good one for rainhaze imo. it might work a little better if he was a girl just bc the singer refers to herself as such in the song but other than that it’s a pretty good fit
for the next two, i remember someone tried to recommend an ethel cain song for corm that ended up not being a good fit, BUT i feel like her music in general does match up with the vibes so here’s a couple songs off that same album (preacher’s daughter, def give it a listen if you get the chance) that i feel would fit:
2. “thoroughfare” would be a good one for hush puppy, wild rose, or even slugpelt depending on the context you take it in; lyrically it’s about a girl who falls in love with a smooth-talking guy and they plan to go on the run together. however, if you take it in the greater context of the album (bc it’s a concept album), the guy later turns out to be a serial killer/cult leader sooo you can imagine how that turns out
3. “ptolemaea,” which is a couple songs after the previous one, and sort of serves as the climax of the album; while i’m not sure if there’s a specific character it fits, it ABSOLUTELY fits the overall mood/themes of the story. i wish there was more i could say about it, but this is one of those songs where it’s best if you go in blind. trust me
Tumblr media
Eh, I never care too much about the gender of lyrics unless it's actually relevant to the character's meaning. I like it with Redpelt, too, though! Since Rainhaze and Redpelt did have a relationship to each other, maybe they can both be singing the song.
"Here I am, a rabbit hearted girl Frozen in the headlights It seems I've made the final sacrifice" (Redpelt)
"This is a gift, it comes with a price Who is the lamb and who is the knife? Midas is king and he holds me so tight And turns me to gold in the sunlight" (Rainhaze)
youtube
2. I did listen to a bit of the Ethel Cain album, though it's not really my taste.
The specific song sounds really great to work with Wild Rose, in the context of the rest of the album. I have described her as a character with wanderlust before, so I imagine she'd want to leave Defiance with Deepdark.
"I met you there in Texas, somewhere on the thoroughfare On the side of the road in some torn up clothes with a pistol in my pocket I didn't trust no one but you said, "Baby, don't run, I'll take you anywhere"
"And then you turned to me and stared into me deep And said, "Well, maybe not, 'cause look at what I've got You might not be my love, but baby, I doubt it"
youtube
3. Oh, what an intersting song this is. If I had to assign a character to it I'd say Deepdark, with certain other lyrics in the song as victims of his throughout the years. Specifically the phrasing of "I am the white light" and "[the] wolf, crawling to thee" are very relevant to some imagery surrounding him.
youtube
Tumblr media
Good old The Moss! I like this song.
"Well, we can all learn things, both many and a-few From that old hunched-up woman who lived inside a shoe Or the girl that sang by day and by night she ate tear soup Or the man who drank too much and he got the brewers' droop"
"Come listen, all ye fair maids, to how the moral goes Nobody knew and nobody knows"
youtube
Tumblr media
If that song's not on Rainhaze Hell, it prolly should be. He's got a couple of NIN there already I believe. Any angry, edgy, upset song is very Rainhaze. I like the motif of the days feeling like a constant endless drag in this one.
"I think I used to have a purpose Then again, that might have been a dream"
"I can feel their eyes are watching In case I lose myself again Sometimes, I think I'm happy here Sometimes, yet I still pretend"
youtube
Tumblr media
Never Love an Anchor is actually Slugpelt's theme song, which you can find on the official PATFW playlist! It fits her terribly well.
I could see I Bet on Losing Dogs as a representation of her and Cashew's relationship, where she's continually convincing herself that he'll stay despite knowing in her heart he won't.
"Will you let me, baby, lose On losing dogs I know they're losing and I'll pay for my place"
"My baby, my baby You're my baby, say it to me Baby, my baby Tell your baby that I'm your baby"
youtube
Tumblr media
Aw, yeah, good call.
"If the rashes sprang to life, would you just let me down? Would you leave those kids again and kick 'em outta town? I guess we'll never know, I'll just be here wondering What made you choose to go? The day you went down to Mexico"
"Now there's time to mend, every broken heart that you left In your gust of wind, no more little ghost I keep around"

The Red String of Faith - The Mall Episode: One-Shot
Idol!AteezXOCs Soulmates!ot8AteezXOCs OCXOC Slight Social Media AU!
slight twigger warnings: SMUT IN THIS CHAPTER!!! Polyamory, group of 10, two OC's -feel free to replace one OC with yourself if you'd like- , listen this is an idea me and my best friend had and is something for fun read at own risk, not edited as always, also we are starting to explore themes such as bxb and gxg if thats not for you, this story may not be for you.
A/N: Hi all, this one shot goes with our story but is just a fun filler and little something something on the side. You can read this outside of the story or not read it at all. Both are okay! Enjoy :)
Masterlist
Going to the mall was a common thing for Lia and Lyra, just not this mall. After their flight back from spending time with their soulmates Ateez at their last US concerts, the two girls had decided to spend one extra day in Charlotte before heading back to Columbia.
Being tired and honestly, a little sad at having to go separate ways with the boys, the girls decided that the only thing that could make them feel better was to go find some stores to waste their money in. What did this really mean, Lia vlogging a trip to the mall and buying Kpop stuff even though they just were with their idol soulmate/boyfriends less than 14 hours ago.
“Hi Bunnies!” Lia was holding her small vlogging camera and waving while they were sitting in her car outside the mall. “We are outside the mall, and as boring as that sounds it's fun to us because our local mall has nothing.”
“That’s not true, it has the creepy Aeropostale and once upon a time it had a macaron stand that was amazing,” Lyra chimed in from her spot in the passenger seat. Lia quickly got her in the shot as she spoke.
“So, like I said, nothing,” Both girls laughed at the dig at their local mall, home was home but no one really bragged about living in or around Columbia, SC. “Our goal today, find the Noeasy, or Christmas EveL albums because I want them. And Levanter for Lyra. I also may get a couple Seventeen albums if I can find some I really want.”
The pair was walking into the mall now, and one thing Lyra would never get used to is the looks of other people when they see someone vlogging in public. She couldn’t really blame them, she would also be confused and maybe weirded out if she had seen someone vlogging before Lia started doing social media and streaming as a career.
“Okay, guys, after our first few random stores and a popcorn break, we have made it to the FYE. And here is the selection,” Lia was filming the standard K-pop section the store had, after getting the okay from the manager on duty.
They had a decent amount, some of the more popular albums and with a healthy selection, The largest amount was BTS albums to no one's surprise, the group was huge and it was one of the easiest to find.
The girls were a bit disappointed right off the bat, they found the Noeasy album but none of the others in this section of the store. “Okay, they had this one from Stray Kids, but that was it. Oh, look Ateez! I’d get this one, but we both already have it, so not this trip.” Lia showed a Zero: Fever Part. 1 album, at the beginning of the area.
“Oh, I think Lyra found some more over here,” her assumption was right as she made her way to where Lyra was at a smaller Kpop display, where there were some more Stray Kids albums and the first Seventeen albums they had seen in the store.
“They have Seventeen, I didn’t see any others over yander. Oh! And they have some lightsticks behind the register,” Lyra pointed out both the album and the lightstick from afar.
Honestly, they considered the first one a bit of a bust only coming out with one of the albums they were looking for and a seventeen album that Lia had picked up after all. They even joked a bit about getting the random light stick that was in the store, but neither were fans of Super Junior.
“Okay,” Lyra had taken over the filming for Lia as they had sat back in the car to do an unboxing of the albums Lia purchased. “I’m hoping to get a Han photocard, as always, but I am also looking for Felix to have one of each member. And I know, I know, I could just order everything offline but listen I like the instant gratification that comes with picking them up from the store and our tradition is to open the albums in the car.”
Lia was slowly opening her album and slapped her hand aggressively down over the photo card not to spoil anything for herself or any viewers. With some caution, Lia slowly pulled all of the cards up, still keeping them hidden from view.
“Okay, first one….” She paused for dramatic effect before turning the first card over to reveal a picture of Bang Chan.
“What a cutie, very much love him, but I have like twelve of him,” this was an over-exaggeration, Lia only had three of him but it seemed like she pulled him in every album she got, so every time she got a photo card of him she shouted out some exaggerated number in a fake complaint.
“And we have, A HAN!” Lia was actually jumping in her seat with excitement over the card. “Look, look, look, my little dude. Hahaha, I could just squish him to bits,” she was yelling but in a way that made Lyra cackle from behind the camera.
The girls finished the vlog by going to a much smaller Kpop shop in Charlotte and finding a much better selection. They ended up getting everything they had been searching for and matching SKZ keychains.
Two days later, the LA Vlog was posted and a week after that, the Mall vlog went up. It was considerably shorter than the LA content and honestly, that was fine as Lia was able to do her weekly streams at the moment and was working on the long-form series for when they joined the boys again.
What neither of them expected was Wooyoung calling Lia at 9 AM the following morning.
“Hello?” Lia answered the phone, she had only woken up about 10 minutes before so her voice was still rough from her sleep.
“YAH!” Wooyoung’s shout got even Lyra's attention, who made her way from the kitchen in their apartment to the living room where Lia was.
“What is the matter in here?” Lia just shrugged in response to Lyra's questions, about to ask when Wooyoung started speaking again.
“STRAY KIDS ALBUMS? You traitors, this is the biggest betrayal of my life. You looked at OUR ALBUM, OURS! But you got THREE of theirs, I swear i’m fighting them all the next time I see any of them. I thought you were ATINY. DOES THAT MEAN NOTHING TO YOU?” Wooyoung was still yelling and rapidly switching from English to Korean.
The girls were dying, they were laughing so hard at the man’s over-dramatic ass. To the point where he could hear their laughter over the phone and Lyra thought she was going to pass out because she couldn’t stop laughing at his reactions.
“Don’t laugh, I'm serious. Don’t make me get Hongjoongie-hyung to scold you both,” Wooyoung’s threat didn’t scare either of them in the slightest, it was a bluff. It had to be, there was no way that he would actually scold them for buying another group's album and merch.
Tumblr media
“Oh no,” Lyra said, showing her phone to Lia at the text Hongjoong had just sent in the group chat. He was indeed pissed. They all were a little bit, but he was demanding that Lyra call him so that he can also speak to them.
Wooyoung, now smug as hell, hung up his call with Lia saying he would let Hongjoong handle them. He was a little too giddy about the fact that his leader was about to scold them, something the rest of their soulmates had experienced at one time or another.
Was this slight possessiveness hot, absolutely. Were they a little scared of Hongjoong at the moment, very much so.
Lyra, not wanting to make him any more upset, face-timed Hongjoong. It took one ring before the screen began connecting over to him.
Once the connection was stable, his face appeared on the screen and the look he had was nowhere near amused.
“I was under the impression, the two of you were Atiny? I must have been mistaken,” Hongjoong was very calm, it had both girls' full attention on Lyra’s iPhone.
“We are Atiny b-'' Lyra tried to explain but Hongjoong just held up a finger when she began to talk.
“I understand that Stray Kids Make very nice music, Seventeen as well. I have to admit that we are very attached to our Atiny,” Hongjoong paused and pulled back a little, the girls could see several of the other boys sitting near him on the coach he was on. All of them had a similar look on their faces, very serious and stern.
Both girls had several thoughts going through their heads, but the one they had in common was the thought of just how hot they were being jealous.
“We are even more possessive of each other, I think people have picked up on that here and there, but we do not share well at all. Are we not your favorite idols?” Hongjoong asked them in the same calm manner as before.
“We understand that you are protective and you are our favorite boys in this whole world,” Lyra began, answering her soulmate, “We are Ainty, but we also are Stays and Carats and Army. We got so incredibly lucky finding all of you, but it may not have happened if we hadn’t also been fans of those other groups.”
Lyra knew the culture was slightly different for K-stans, but she and everyone she knew who were fans of Kpop loved multiple groups.
“If I hadn't had some very good friends introduce me to a group called GOT7, I never would have spared a second glance to Korean pop. If Lia hadn’t stumbled upon a video of Lee Felix being cute, I never could have convinced her to listen to Ateez. We will always pick you, as our favorite boys, as our choice, believe in you and route for you above all else. I promise that.” Lyra became serious in her last couple of words, they both knew it.
The boys also picked up on the sincerity of what both of the girls were saying by this. Lia, while not speaking, knew that they understood that it went for both of them.
“You’re our soulmates, and you work very hard. We will always support your music and cheer you on.” Lia added with a small smile before continuing, “We will stream and vote for you, that is unless you’re up against Stray Kids, then I might have to pull for the other team.”
All the boys groaned and let out complaints in a mixture of English and Korean, while the girls giggled.
“I’d vote for you over Stray Kids, but if it were GOT7…” Lyra stopped there with a small grin on her face.
“Hey, now we can show you our cute tattoos!” Lia said as she shifted some of the bracelets she always wore on her left wrist to show the small symbol on her wrist, it was like the inside of a Nachimbong with the iconic S at the very bottom of the symbol.
Their faces morphed from understanding to confusion and then Hongjoong made a face, poking his tongue into his cheek.
Lyra from beside her pulled up her pant leg to show her ankle to show a small green bird there.
Then without warning, San pulled the phone from Hongjoong’s grasp and began speaking, “When are you going to get Ateez tattoos? Cover those with us.” He wasn’t joking in the slightest but the girls couldn’t stop laughing at the suggestion.  Maybe, just maybe they would think about getting an Ateez tattoo.
They both were shaking their heads in response, they wouldn’t cover up their happy little reminders of their introductions to K-pop. Even as the boys began to make a fuss again, their renewed frustrations, the girls couldn’t take the situation seriously anymore.
Eventually, Hongjoong just hung up the phone and the boys spent the rest of their night pouting.
A/N: We will be back with our next chapter soon! Get ready for another round of goodbyes as the girl got to join the boys in Europe then through to Korea.

VIVA LAS VENGEANCE TOUR/ FAREWELL TOUR
UTILITA ARENA, BIRMINGHAM (04/03/2023) & AO ARENA, MANCHESTER (10/03/2023)
VIVA LAS VENGEANCE TOUR/ FAREWELL TOUR
Tumblr media
Some may understand this notion better than the others: When you say good bye to the band that has been a part of your life for 18 years it simply breaks your heart. It probably breaks the hearts of people directly involved with the band like crew, touring members, etc. more than yours, or in a different way. But it does. It's bittersweet, to say the least: it was supposed to be just another tour after release of another album, and then sometime in the middle of promotional cycle, not long before the tour was to begin the announcement shattered it all.
It leaves... certain numbness, I guess. These bands they become the family you chose, 'they're the hope, they're the prayer, when no one else is there'.
After all, this weird little cousin (to carry on with family metaphor), unafraid of anything, ever-changing, growing to become larger than life, one with a flair of the dramatic just stops existing. Sure, the music is still there, it will warm your heart when heart fails to beat on its own, but the live shows, the anticipation, the NEW music, a brand new phase... These won't be there. Ritual of sort is broken, becomes incomplete.
I suppose it's better to bow out when you're at your best (or shall I say: 'it's better to leave than be replaced'?) rather than become a repetition, a caricature of yourself... And Brendon managed to do exactly that. With brand new chapter opening for him – parenthood. His decision technically comes as a surprise, but it seems that clues were all there: "Viva Las Vengeance" sounds somewhat... final, when you have a real good listen. It's this intangible something hanging between words, creeping behind every note. I've heard this few times before (not knowing just yet that the album was about to be the last one from the band, it was just this “feeling” that became the reality soon after).
It must have taken an enormous toll on Brendon: all these years on the road, all the expectations ("Do It to Death"), but I wonder if fans realise the extent of it.
Just a mention really, in Birmingham, about how he was doing it for over 18 years carried a lot of weight, yet I'm not sure the fans noticed the heavy undertone. He thanked everyone involved: crew, band members, fans. Kept it to the minimum ('We've wrapped up this farewell tour for you'), sort of ripping the band-aid off: it's been a blast, a long road now's the time to shut up and go to bed [to paraphrase].
The tone surprisingly shifted in Manchester. Being named the loudest on tour, causing even more noise and cheers to which Brendon responded that he keeps on increasing the volume on his “box”, that it was already “up on 11, if that thing even goes to 11”, true or not it was extremely well received (duuh!) and appreciated. The word “appreciated” was the leitmotiv of the evening in Manchester and “gratitude”, too. That's what Brendon talked about during his last show: how grateful he felt, rather than overwhelmed, how he appreciated everyone who was there for Panic!, being it 18 years ('Thank you!'), 18 months or 18 seconds ('Welcome! And farewell!'). And shouting: 'Live life like it's your last day!' at the very end summed up the mood perfectly.
Even though I wish I could have heard some older songs for the last time live I wouldn't want to swap any of the ones that landed on the setlist. And it was only fair that whole “Viva Las Vengeance” was played for the first and last time live. It's a shame, they're absolutely fantastic live. Combining incredibly catchy tunes with poignant lyrics, little messages of hope and defiance (like these couple of lines from "Say It Louder": “When you got no place to call your home. Just remember how you felt at the show”). These are the anthems for the underdogs, misunderstood, misfits ("Star Spangled Banger" being great example here). But it seems that most of all it's about leaving a legacy behind. The right kind... You had to be there to feel the electric atmosphere. As I said: 'most of it', because there's a lot of manic, tongue in cheek lyrics too (there's whole lot of it in "Sugar Soaker").
Of course, I missed “The Ballad of Mona Lisa”, I would have loved to hear “Lying is the Most Fun a Girl Can Have without Taking Her Clothes Off” or dance like mad to “Nicotine”. I could go on forever, but the evening only has so many hours and so does the show. The setlist was perfectly crafted: there was so many emotions (“I Write Sins Not Tragedies”) and so much to dance to (“Emperor's New Clothes”, “Don't Threaten Me with a Good Time”). And I wouldn't swap trippy singalongs on "Nine in the Afternoon" for anything else.
The show was long, rich, full bodied – like fine wine, leaving different notes to taste on your tongue. Melting hearts on “Don't Let the Light Go Out” (and crowd waving their phones up and down to the very line). Uniting and celebrating each other during “Girls/Girls/Boys” (with rainbow confetti showering the crowd, reflecting in the lights from the stage and thousands of paper hearts, lit up by phones' flashlights, lifted up throughout the crowd – in Birmingham Brendon laughed that fans vibed so much that it brought the confetti right back on stage and covered it all).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Singing so loud that the lungs gave out (oh, wait different band reference here): “I Write Sins, Not Tragedies” for the last time rolling through the crowd like a storm – both in Birmingham and Manchester (I must say, it was way louder and powerful in Manchester, it was deafening and beautiful). In Birmingham Brendon smirked and commented after: 'Oh, wow you really know the lyrics', in Manchester it seemed to blew his mind, big grin appeared as the crowd sang the cheeky lyrics. The show couldn't end better with 'High Hopes', on a high note indeed: the anthem, the perfect eulogy.
#
I was fortunate enough to see Panic! at the Disco more than once. I've heard Brendon take on Queen's 'Bohemian Rhapsody' and ooof, was blown away by what he did with it (just a memory of it gives me chills, that good). I was fortunate enough to see him at meet and greet few years back. I remember his boyish charm spilling with every smile that he was giving to fans waiting in line to tell him their stories in less than a minute, to thank him... I remember him being attentive, humbled by each and every encounter. Act or no act, it was the moment I will cherish and keep forever as a precious memory, one of these “meet your heroes” moments. In the house of memories that keeps me going it has a very special place (oh, did I mention that “House of Memories” was so electrifying, it's such a mighty song live!).

Hi! I'm sorry I took a few days to reply. Omg I'm so sorry you don't have a voice right now! That sounds so awful. Just try to drink as much water as possible I guess and hopefully it gets better. I think baking is a lot easier for me too..just because I don't make that many cooking recipes or anything and it's harder to know what dishes to make. I also think it takes a lot longer and same here..everyone is better at it than me and never gives me enough time to learn or anything. But I definitely think it will be a New Year's resolution for me to work on it more and just try harder. I hope your voice has at least gotten a little better since I last replied to you and that you're feeling better overall. Hopefully you can start the new year healthy but I hope you feel better sooner than that haha. The only time I've ever lost my voice is at concerts. I remember after my Taylor show, my sister lost her voice and couldn't talk for three days..but I've never had laryngitis. Well I also enjoy apple pie and I'm a fan of most desserts actually.
I think I will be happy with any vault songs she gives us and some of those are familiar to me too. I'm not sure why she didn't release Let's Go (Battle) but I think Need could be put on rep eventually..even if we know it's for Lover, it almost sounds more like rep. But it also reminds me a little of False God too so I'm not sure. I think she will add Beautiful Eyes to debut honestly which would be good since I don't really listen to it. The holiday album I'm more iffy on but I guess it could come this year maybe? I think I heard a rumor about it so idk.
Well I think I might have been confusing that one with NFU cuz he says I just miss the way that we talk..but I agree that I should give it another listen. But I really liked that one, and Glitter and Honey. I'm sorry you couldn't make the concert..that's such a bummer. Btw Saw you in a Dream is one of my fav songs ever but I actually haven't heard many other songs..just a few besides her newest album and maybe her EP before that. I don't actually know what my vinyl player looks like because it's unopened so I have not played anything on it yet but I hope you find what you're looking for and get lucky.
I liked him and think he will do good in the role but only saw one clip so far which was Wait For Me. I will have to look for more. Ooh who is the euryidice stunt cast? I hadn't heard about it. I still haven't got a chance to watch the parade performances or any Dancing performances actually. The only thing I saw was Taylors tour choreographer talking about the Vigilante Shit chair dance which is cool. She is the same choreographer who worked on the La La Land movie so that's pretty cool and I love the dancing in that movie so maybe I will watch a few. I also like the dancers in the tour during Lover and Enchanted.
Well I guess one goal I have is to finish more books that I start lol. Then of course finish the ones I'm in the middle of right now which is going to be paired up with a few on the list. My sister wants to read more too and I have a few in mind we can read together already that we never got to..which is the ones about twins and also the Night Circus. We also started Daisy Jones together a long time ago. Read more books that I own and are on my shelf and I made the goal of reading two books a month so far so we'll see how that goes. Wow that also is the same number of the year which is 24! So hopefully I stick to that. I also said that this year and failed miserably lol. I think I only read two full books this year and maybe two I was in the middle of from the previous year lol. Or maybe I will try to finish one or two I'm in the middle of right now before the year ends. I do not know many upcoming releases yet but Emily Henry and Carly Fortune are definitely two I'm looking forward to and the If he had been with me sequel. So I am supposed to reread that with my sister maybe next month since it comes out in February I think. Or Night Circus and Starless Sea too..idk cuz maybe those will take more than a month though. If you have any other books you think we can read together this year let me know. There is also the Today Tonight Tomorrow sequel and I hope to read the first one as it gets closer. What are some upcoming ones you're looking forward to?
So the movie was good! Like it was a pretty good and faithful adaptation I think. But I also didn't love it as much as other people really seem to either. It felt like they changed a few little things from the book or maybe just cuz I speed read it..oops. Although I'm not sure if you would get it as much if you didn't read the book..like if it would be confusing. I filled in a few things for my sister for example. I feel like the narration in the book made things clearer that was hard to show in the movie. The performances were good though at least. I liked the songs but I need to listen to the soundtrack again. It did not feel like the kind of movie I would wanna watch again really and it was kinda long. In fact it just made me want to rewatch the Hunger Games again and those movies were a lot better. It's just my opinion though I guess. I do like all the edits I've been seeing or connections and reading people's analysis though. I think we are also going to see the Renaissance movie this weekend too and I will probably enjoy that more lol. Although I'm worried it looks more like a documentary of the tour than the full concert..which kinda sucks cuz we didn't get to go.
I know she's been working on it a lot so I guess I wonder what will happen. What genre would you hope for in her new music? I've always wanted her to try more rock honestly so it makes sense why I loved I Can See You so much. I know it might be about her breakup though so I'm not really sure. Red also had hints of rock like State of Grace which is another one of my top favorites so I still have some hope. I also wonder if the music she's working on now could be for her upcoming film too..which it seems like no one has considered. That's so awesome that you saw all of your faves live this year..omg! If I ended up going to Paramore..then I could have said the same haha. They are definitely going to be one of my top artists haha. So I got Say Don't Go right technically but I think that was the only one. I also forgot that she already sang Afterglow or else I wouldn't have guessed it. Yes omg! I think that was my favorite pairing of these shows but I would've been fine with Innocent and Now we don't Talk. I love Say Don't Go but dislike it's Time to Go lol. Now that she's resetting the surprise songs next year, it will be harder to guess..which also makes it more fun! She also says there's extended version of the movie for her bday but didn't mention Cardigan in that list. Also she just put You're Losing Me on streaming finally. Maybe I will finally appreciate this song more but its also kinda just there for me lol. I wish I liked it more. I think it's honestly one of my least favorites out of all the songs she has released this year so hopefully TS11 has better songs. I hope you feel better and continue to have a good week. Happy wonderful Wednesday!!! 🩷
hi friend !! it has been ... ten (?) days without a voice now, which is just very frustrating but i'm mostly still in good spirits! the one downside is that my friend is coming into town friday through sunday, and i'm worried i won't have a voice by then still. but i can't really do anything about that, so we'll see. might have to continue doing text to speech robot voice! it's her first time in seattle too which makes it all the more interesting! but yes, staying hydrated, sitting next to the humidifier and just hoping i'll feel better soon! i went back to my best friend, the doctor's, and he gave me some new medication yesterday so hopefully that'll do it's magic soon! i'm surprised that i didn't lose my voice from eras weekend at all, but i did from boston (although that one is more so because i got sick → got laryngitis). guess it also makes a huge difference that eras took place over the summer!
what's your favorite dessert? mine is a toss up between black forest cake (what my mom makes for my birthday every year), tiramisu, and chocolate cake! but i also love oatmeal raisin cookies (probably my personal favorite thing to bake). my mom's also really good at baking bread, and i definitely need to pay more attention to her little tips and tricks when she does!
oh i could see the false god/need comparison! two of my close friends really want need to be released, and i hope it is for their sakes! i would loveeee the holiday album to come soon but i feel like it might be a "end of tour" gift next year? maybe? if tour is even over by then?
i was listening to i miss you already + i haven't left yet on vinyl yesterday as i worked! was thinking of you 🤍 i do think i still like his debut album more than i miss you already, but i also have listened to that one more/longer/etc. so maybe it's just recency bias! i feel like i'm starting to get burnt out (?) on new music? if that makes sense. but i'm also really excited for the holly/MUNA into your room, and then noah kahan/gracie abrams everything everywhere remixes that come out this week! but i think that's different since it's not new new music? i've been listening to fruitcake ep by sabrina carpenter a lot though! that one's really fun. saw you in a dream is soooo good and i also really like f a r a w a y ! but sunshine baby is definitely my favorite.
i heard rumors about lizzy mcalpine as eurydice? which i don't know how to feel about! for many reasons! here's an audioboot, if you're so inclined! i did see that quote and i thought that was really cool! i'm really excited that eras movie will be on streaming; i've got like ~ $25 amazon digital credits saved up, so i'm going to be streaming it on her birthday i think! just a little something fun! i notice new things every time, and i like picking a dancer — or two — to focus on! i would love to see a a BTS documentary of eras after it's done; i'm so curious about the quick changes, the rehearsal process, etc.
two books is still two more than you previously read! it's not a competition, and reading is supposed to be fun!! i almost started a new book tonight but i was too tired and then i remembered i haven't replied to you yet so i grabbed my laptop to do so! i think i'm going to try to work more on my les mis/night circus annotations tomorrow, and that'll probably be the last time i get to read until sunday or monday! i also need to update my reading thread — and make my 2024 reading tracker in google sheets! so much to do! i usually do a post on my book blog for 2024 anticipated releases, but i'm SO out of it that i can't even think of anything aside from my friends' books that are coming out!
i've never seen the hunger games movies aside from the first one, but i think what i want to do is do a series reread, watch the movies, read tbosas, then see it? maybe? or maybe read them all then watch them all? i have no idea! but all my friends have been talking to me about it and i have to be like WAIT I HAVEN'T READ IT YET DON'T SAY ANYTHING !!! it definitely has taken over my entire fyp, and i'm always in awe of how good people's editing skills are! i hope it's the full concert; you'll have to let me know how it is since i won't be seeing it for a while (if i end up seeing it)!!
i'm also not the biggest fan of it's time to go! i love the "but i've got me" line and think it's so symbolic of how this entire tour has been for her, and hearing her sing it live has definitely made me like it a bit more but i'm still not the biggest fan of it for some reason! out of all the surprise song combos in 2023, which one was your favorite? i wonder if cardigan will be on the streaming version, or in a physical DVD exclusive? we'll just have to wait and see! feels weird for her to exclude just cardigan. i did not expect her to release YLM today! i woke up and my phone was blowing up from friends about it haha! i do like it more with you know, proper production, dolby atmos, etc. and not ripped from an audio somewhere, but it's definitely not my favorite!
hope you have a good rest of your week!! 🤍 are you doing anything fun this weekend/anything you're looking forward to in december? love you!

Everyone has taken their seat in the O2 arena to watch The Brit Awards. You’re there to support the boys because they are nominated for Best Group and Album of the Year. You’re kinda nervous because it’s the first time you’re attending an award show. You’ve already gone three times to the toilet. Brad thinks it’s cute that you’re even more nervous than the boys are. He holds your hand to calm you down which helps a lot.
The show is about to start and the lights are turned down. The show starts with an act with dancers and Dua Lipa opens the show. You’re impressed by it all. You’ve always watched it on tv but this is just impressive. The first award that’s presented is the one for Best Pop. Ed Sheeran is the one who wins that one. You’ve always been a very big fan of him since the beginning. Every time you had a bad day you listened to his songs to feel better.  You’ve seen him live for so many times but this is just special. He walks onto the stage to receive the award. He thanks his fans and everyone that voted for him.
The next awards that are presented are these for Best New Artist, Artist of the Year, Best Rock, and International Group of the Year. After the three first awards, Anne-Marie performs her new song that she hasn’t performed live yet. You’re halfway through the show and you’re so impressed. “Are you enjoying the show?”, Brad who is sitting next to you asks you. “Yes, I do”, you say and squeeze his hand. The lights go back on, announcing there is a break. You can see the other VIP tables clearly now. It’s a weird feeling sitting between all these famous people. Adelle is just sitting a table away from you and you’re practically sitting next to Taylor Swift because her table is next to the table of the boys. Having a famous boyfriend has its perks but that’s not the reason at all you fell in love with Brad. You fell in love with him because he is the sweetest and most adorable person you’ve ever met. You give him a kiss on his cheek taking him by surprise. “What was that for?”, he asks you with a smile. “Just because I can”, you smile back. “You know we’re in the next award category?”, he asks you. “Omg is that now already?” you ask, you start getting nervous again. “I’m going to the toilet before the show starts again”, you say and you stand up from your place to go to the toilet. Brad laughs and shakes his head at you.
Luckily the line for the toilet isn’t that long. There are only two people before you. When it’s your turn you go in. There is a mirror on the wall in the small cabin and you can see that your make-up is a little bit ruined. It’s probably because it’s so hot in there. You take off your glasses so you can fix your make-up with some toilet paper.
When you come out of the toilet you wash your hands and immediately go back because it’s probably not long anymore until the show starts again. It’s when you get into the arena again that you notice something is wrong. You can’t see a thing and you don’t know where you have to go to get back to your table. Your hands go to your face to feel if your glasses are still there. You take a deep breath when you realise you forgot them on the toilet when you fixed your make-up. You take your phone in total panic so you can ask Brad for help. It goes to voicemail which is logical as Brad has turned his phone down for the show.
You go back to the toilets to search for your glasses but they’re gone. You try to make your way back which kinda became impossible. In your attempt you walk up to someone, both of you falling to the ground. “I’m so so sorry, I lost my glasses and I can’t see a thing”, you start to apologise. “It’s okay, I wasn’t looking where I was going either. Can I help you?”, he asks. You immediately recognise that voice as it’s Ed Sheeran’s. “Wait you’re Ed Sheeran, oh my god I’m so sorry”, you ramble while he is helping you to get up again. “It’s okay”, he laughs, “I’ll bring you back to your table”. “Thank you”, you say blushing. “So at what table are you sitting?”, he asks you. “I’m sitting at the Vamps table, I’m Brad Simpson’s girlfriend”, you tell him. “Oh really, you’ve got yourself a good man there”, he says and you start blushing. “Y/N, what happened?”, you hear Brad ask. “Your girlfriend lost her glasses and ran into me”, Ed tells Brad. You sit next to Brad again and you thank Ed for bringing you back to your seat. “I have to go now, I have to present the next award”, he says and leaves. “Where are your glasses?”, Brad asks. “I don’t know, I took them off to fix my make-up and then forgot them but they’re gone”, you explain.
Ed Sheeran goes on stage to present the next award for Best Group which the boys are nominated for. You hate that you can’t see a thing at this exact moment. It’s such an important moment for the boys.
“And the winner is”, you hear Ed Sheeran say. “The Vamps!”, he continues after a long silence. The boys spring up and are hugging each other. You stand up so you can hug Brad at least. “Thank you for being here”, he whispers in your ear.
The boys are walking up on stage but without glasses, you can’t even see who is who. They all hug Ed Sheeran and take the award over from him. They start thanking their fans, family and friends and say how amazing this is. You see that one of the silluets puts their arm around someone’s shoulders. “So I wanted to ask everyone here for some help. So Brad’s girlfriend has lost her glasses in the toilets and she can’t see a thing without them because she walked into me. If someone has seen or taken some glasses can they bring them back to the girl sitting there?”, Ed Sheeran speaks to the audience. The lights are pointed at you and you wish the ground swallowed you up. You feel someone tapping your shoulder and you look behind you. “Are these your glasses?”, Taylor Swift asks you. “Ehm yes, thank you so much”, you say as she hands them to you. “One of us found them but we couldn’t find the person they belong to”, she says. “Thank you so much again, I’m so embarrassed”, you tell her. “Don’t be sweetheart, by the way, Brad is a gem, keep him”, she smiles and you smile back. “Oh you have them back?”, Brad notices when he is at the table again. “Yes, luckily. I was so embarrassed”, you say. “You should be honoured, your idol helping you to find your glasses isn’t something you experience every day”, Brad tells you. “That’s true”, you laugh.
After the award show, you make your way home in Brad's car. "It's such a you thing to lose your glasses", Brad laughs. "I know oh my god", you groan with your head in your hands. "Who gave them back?", Brad asks. "Taylor Swift", you tell him. "One of the people at her table found them". "Well, now everyone knows you", Brad says. " Yeah I guess they do", you laugh.
There is a comfortable silence in the car. "Maybe I should start wearing contacts", you say. "What? Why?", Brad asks you surprised. " Because then I can't lose them", you tell him. "But I think you look cute with those glasses", Brad says. "You do?", you ask him surprised. "Yeah, I love them", he says. Brad takes one hand off the steering wheel and lays it on top of yours. "Did you have fun?", he asks. "I did, it was an amazing evening. Thank you for bringing me", you say and squeeze his hand.

ARCTIC FUCKING MONKEYS 'THE CAR'
Listened to the album!
IT IS PERFECT, EVERYTHING I EVER WANTED!
Most beautiful album I've ever heard!
First reactions to each song below track by track 💖
There'd better be a mirrorball
Perfect opener
A perfect storm of sound welcoming us to the album
The introduction piece is astounding
Alex's voice is perfect
So melancholic
The drum sounds are so good and crisp, the hihat sounds pristine
The piano sounds fucking gorgeous
So soft and so sad
The bass accentuated the deeper piano notes so well
Alex's tone is so deep and rich
Nick is playing it so playfully
Shit i spilled my coffee
The caa-aa-aarr, the most beautiful part of this song
The strings are so gorgeous. What they say about them coming in and out of focus really makes sense
The accentuate what is already there so well without taking over
I ain't quite where i think i am
Bongos!
Waaaah!
Done with being sad
I can picture people dancing in a dirty 70s disco club
The bass is bouncing so nicely
The strings!
The guitars are really going at it
The vocal almost falls into the background, the instruments are doing the heavy work and it's glorious
Lyrics seem less important, they are words to support the melody
The strings bring the melancholy back
It slows down
Bridge is sad, lyrics are more important now
THE STRINGS!
Most beautiful moment on the song
A dip into the real, the bridge is what matters most and it is being kept well hidden inside the funk. It is vulnerable. It hurts
And then back
Sculptures of anything goes
FUCK! THAT NOISE
CHILLS
FUCK
Someone is chasing me
Alex is mad
That noise!!
The bunbulbuk um drums
I want to hear this again and I'm only 30 seconds in
Sculptures of anything goes has such a nice rhytyhm to it, like the words are supporting the melody
The drums!!
The clingclinc!!!!
THIS IS A MASTERPIECE
the is so dark
My heart hurts
This is a new Alex
THE GUITAR IS ANGRY TOO
FALSETTO
It's so dangerous
And it does that!!
Back and in again!
This feels so dangerous i can't get enough
The pound if those drums
The clingcling again
THE GASP
Alex is so mad so so mad
I am out of breath
So circular
Like they are walking in big dark circles, so angry, after you, dark eyes coming to get you
BEST ONE
Take me back
Repeat
Jet skis on the moat
OH
Aaah
Reprieve from the darkness
Marvin gaye
So soft
Come give your buddy a hug
It's still so sad.
He is trying to be soft and happy but he is not
How can he sing like this. This is so new too
The guitar is the lead vocalist on this
Oh it's seductive and then it's not
He is trying but it's not what he really wants
It's so sweet, but there is something lurking underneath
The little glimmers
It's very sparkly this song
Such pretty notes
Ooohhh his voice
Little pretty cracks
I'm so proud of him, that he has grown into this and allows himself to also be this
Body paint
Oh i know this, a relief
So pretty
It's so much softer than the live versions
The piano is really where it's at now
Soft and pretty and sweet, but there is something hidden underneath still
Snark. Or frustration. Impatience, annoyance
Oh the strings
You barely notice the shifts but then when you do it's just perfect
He is a fucking genius
Mooooooooove
The background vocals are so sparse but so effective
They stroke my ears so good
If you're thinking of me I'm probably thinking of you. The most important lyric of this song
The review that mentioned that he wrote the song just to be able to say that was so right
Oohhhh the build up
The little dip with the acoustic guitar is so pretty and so well done
And now it grows! I love it so much
They weren't going to do it like that but they were seduced by their own need to be wild and perform and go crazy together, they can't help themselves, they have too much fun when they're together.
They need to do another rehearsal room album at some point
The guitar is sublime
Uuuuhhhhh
HAH!
The piano right after that is THE BEST his duet partner
Him just kinda riffing, his voice is his instrument not just a way so speak words
What do they say at the end
Perfect song
The car
Here we fucking go
The fingerpicking
Cowboy
Oohh dark
This is so Morricone
The drums
Aesthetic cowboys
Going into the desert with your buddies on horseback
This sounds so unique
The tones
It's drawing me in, leading into something unsure
Oh the strings
It's so dangerous too. In a different way.
Bond strings!
Oh this sounds like the introduction to a movie
So cinematic. Hollywood.
Guitar solo!! Ooh my god
Oohh this is insane.
Who is doing them
I have had the sense throughout this whole thing that lyrics have taken on a very different meaning to him. They're not his primary thing anymore. The music speaks louder.
Quick stop
I wasn't ready for that
Hard to let go of
Big ideas
First studio version listen!
Smaller and softer than the live version
He has such a chip on his shoulder about something
Ooh the bass and strings
This feels like it's filled with regret
What could've been
So beautiful
Hurts my soul
The strings steal my attention in such a nice way
The ballad of what could've been, most important lyric
He is saying goodbye to a lot of things. Leaving stuff behind.
He is changing
This is not about relationships. This is much more important
That seems so hopeless. I cannot for the life of me remember how they go - that is so sad. It speaks volumes
Sounds like Venice.
The godfather vibes
One solo into the next, angrier one
When the strings and the guitar goes UP UP UP UP together that's so genius
This hits so hard
Hello you
Oh wow
Bongos are back
Warp speed vibes
So groovy
Oh Alex is feeling superior, this is so glossy
He is bouncing
This is his time to shine he is stepping into the spotlight
He is so angry
Helloooo youuuuuu
I can imagine him on spinning stage with a sparkly microphone being so charming whilst cussing everyone and seducing them at the same time
Apologiiiiiiiiiiiize that's crazy. His voice is kicking my ass
I need to listen with lyrics later
The bounce is going so hard. It's so unique
How did they come up with this
The splinglsplsingplsijg with strings and piano
Tyler parkford is present in this house tonight. Mini mansions vibes
Ooohh falsetto
Crystal baaaaaallll
This is so bright and so menacing at the same time
Could pass for 17 if i get a shave and catch some zzzzzzz sounds amazing, much different than i pictured
Helloooiuu youuuu it draws my attention every time, it is really capturing
Hellooouu youuuu
Oh that's beautiful
It stopped!
Fuck they are geniuses
Mr. Schwartz
Oh
Oh i want to cry immediately
Godfather
Led zeppelin
Glam/psych/prog rock ballad
Oh this is stunning
He is Mr Schwartz
Alex is Mr Schwartz
Oh the melody is gorgeous
The vocal really something special
Oh that note
Bond vibes again
Oh the drums pick up
Little groovy, bossa nova
This is an album that needs to be played from beginning to end in one sitting
This is an ALBUM
This is perfect
This is so them
This is the vinyl experience, the full album
Their singles picks are so good
Such good notes, they've always been the best at using the best notes
Oohhh he is sassy
There's not one goddmn thing you can do about it, baby
He is Mr Schwartz i need to say that again
Oh the strings ties it all together so well
They are geniuses
Perfect sense
Oohhh
Motown
The drum sounds incredible! So massive
The end credits
This sounds amazing. So unique
So big
Oscar worthy
Oh it sounds good.
His voice is immaculate
That's what it takes
He has not been happy one second of this record. He is so melancholy i want to hug him but i know he knows better. He knows. He always knows.
That's what it takes to say goodnight
It's making me cry
This is so emotional.
This is overwhelming me.
The strings are perfect
This.... My heart
This is so beautiful. The melody is beyond. So classic and cinematic and so beautiful
Most stunning song
And it's done???????????????????
Cant believe it's over.
I am so proud of them. Proud to be their fan.
I feel privileged to be able to follow them and to watch them grow into this
This is the most beautiful album I've ever heard.
It gripped my heart and never let go
Feels like a soundtrack. Like a mix between Tenet and godfather and bond and a Morricone western.
But with strings in a sunny floral garden, but with dark clouds gathering in, threatened to release rain any second.
There is such a melancholic darkness looming over all of the songs, it's moody in such a unique way.
Can't wait to hear it again and delve more into the lyrics.

what's your least favorite character theme music in aa and why?
INTERESTING QUESTION! lucky for us i already have the original trilogy's osts at hand so im going to go ahead and rate all of them. sorry i know this isnt what you asked for but im doing it anyways. aa4-6 excluded for obvious reasons. will update this if anybody reminds me after im done with them. this is probably everybody but i mightve missed something
phoenix's theme(s): honestly bangers, the lot of them. aa1: 8/10, aa2: 8.5/10, aa3: 9/10 maya's theme: its cute! also very fond of this one. also not outstandingly spectacular but a definitely solid 8.5/10 gumshoe's theme: good! pretty standard but im also fond of this one. i'd give it probably a 7.5/10. very catchy though honestly i still miss having it pop up in the games grossberg's theme: fine. not really anything interesting here but not grating on the ears. 6.5/10 but it doesnt really need to be better than that blue badger's theme: yeah im throwing this on here. it accomplishes what it needs to do but if i had to listen to this for minutes on end id go insane marshal's theme: sorry honestly we spent WAY too much time screwing around with him so this theme kind of makes me a little annoyed. personal biases aside its actually a solid musical theme lets throw it a 7.5/10 gant's theme: i love gant so much you dont even know. you couldnt even fathom. that being said i do NOT like his theme it gets REALLY grating really fast. like i understand what theyre going for especially with the organ but this thing was not meant to be listened to for as long as i was forced to. 4/10 shelley's theme: as im sure most of you are aware i hate this man. so if we were going purely by personal biases id rate it 0/10. that being said as far as musical quality goes i suppose it does its job but its kind of bland. 6/10 pearl's theme: the fact that its a variation on maya's theme is ADORABLE and im obsessed with that. anyways its very cute and i love it a lot. solid 8/10 edgeworth/franziska's theme: they're close enough that you can mostly count it as the same thing. anyways when i was playing aa2 i got really sick of this theme really fast because edgeworths smug little attitude while we were dealing with the middle of a hostage situation was NOT appreciated and the theme made it soooo much more condescending. anyways my personal biases aside honestly id give it an 8/10 but with the asterisk of "you cannot listen to this thing for too long or youll go insane" dahlia's theme: honestly drove me up the wall while i was playing the game but this was like 90% the fault of the judges & payne. nonetheless its still kind of grating so im giving it a 6.5/10 godot's theme: obsessed with this thing genuinely when i found the arrangements albums i listened to the jazz version of this one for hours on end. love the official art where he has a saxophone. 10/10 would not change anything. mask demasque/ron's theme: this one slays actually. 9.5/10 sure why not i love this thing they really knocked it out of the park. atmey's theme: dont like it. sorry its kind of boring and the beginning reminds me of harpsichords which make me feel carsick. 5/10 larry's theme: honestly very fond of this one. i dont have too much to say but its very larry. love it 8/10 kudo's theme: grating on the ears and i hate this guy anyways. honestly we're going down to 4/10 tigre's theme: annoying after a little bit but since they dont overdo it on using it honestly i really love this theme actually. its fun its loud its aggressive and its catchy. 9/10 misty's theme: fine i guess. kind of forgettable. 6.5/10
also while we're here go ahead and take this arrangement on the bonus tracks of the aa3 soundtrack

[Anthos* S2V3 A 2-15] Hana-Doll 2nd Season INCOMPLICA:IT~ICON~ Translation
Translation below the cut.
Google Drive link | Listen to the album on Spotify
Project Archive: A 2-15
Chise: Everyone all ready for the photo? …Okay! (camera shutter goes off) Mm, perfect!
Haruta: Chise-nii, lemme see!
Ryoga: Oh, nice shot.
Haruta: Yep. Hm? Hey, Sena-nii…
Setsuna: What is it, Haruta?
Haruta: You’re not mad here, are you?
Setsuna: I can’t say.
Haruta: What. You’re totally pissed. The heck happened?
Ryoga: …
Mahiro: Hey, Chi-san, could you send me the photo?
Kaoru: Me too.
Haruta: Me three!
Chise: Of course! I’ll send it to everyone. Litto, come take a look too.
Lihito: I’ll look later. More importantly, the rehearsal time.
Mahiro: Ah, you’re right! Let’s get going.
(Anthos* starts walking to rehearsal)
Haruta: Sena-nii, whatcha mad about?
Setsuna: Don’t know.
Mahiro: Sena-san, it’s okay, I’m fine.
Setsuna: …
Ryoga: (clears his throat)
Haruta: C’mon, something definitely happened!
Ryoga: Not at all, not at all!
Kaoru: Huh? Chise-san?
Lihito: Chise?
Chise: You guys go ahead first. I’m just gonna upload this to social media.
Lihito: … Catch up with us as soon as you can.
Chise: Mm!
Kaoru: It’s taking some time, isn’t it?
Haruta: Wonder when it’s our turn to be up.
Lihito: If you’re that curious, go look at the cast list.
Mahiro: Let’s see… (opens a screen from his ring) Maybe we’re right after this segment? They’ve been doing adjustments for a while and it looks like they still need some time.
Ryoga: …
Mahiro: (whispers) Ryo-san, do you want to find a place to sit?
Ryoga: I’m fine.
Mahiro: It’s okay to lean on me, okay?
Ryoga: …Thanks.
Haruta: Gah, I can’t stand still! (starts doing some footwork)
Kaoru: Haruta, those steps…!
Haruta: Hehe, it’s our part. First, I’ll go… here! (takes a step)
Kaoru: Then, I’ll go… like this. (takes a step)
Haruta: Yep, then the both of us will go, in three, two, one…
Kaoru/Haruta: Go!
(They both accidentally bump into Mahiro)
Kaoru: Oh, no, sorry, Yuuki-kun!
Mahiro: Eh? Kaoru, by ‘Yuuki-kun’...?
Kaoru: Um… I apologise.
Setsuna: Did you do something you were not supposed to just now?
Mahiro: No, it’s not anything wrong.
Ryoga: Been a while since I heard that name.
Haruta: Kinda feels nostalgic.
Kaoru: Sorry, it was the spur of the moment…
Mahiro: Don’t apologise! I wasn’t offended, just a little surprised too since it has been a while.
Haruta: Yep, yep! It’s cool to just play polite with the surnames once in a while. Better than all those corny nicknames Litto-nii comes up with all the time, anyway.
Lihito: Did you say something, munchkin?
Haruta: Quit calling me ‘munchkin’!
Ryoga: This guy’s about to completely overwrite my name as ‘Dad’ too.
Lihito: It’s simple to say from the tip of your tongue and there’s no other immediate person that qualifies for the same title, so it serves as a definite and easy identifier. It’s only logical.
Haruta: There he goes…
Mahiro: Li-san, give me a nickname too! And I mean outside of social media.
Lihito: If you insist.
Haruta: Oh, yeah, Hiro-nii is ‘Mahiro’ to you, right? Chise-nii too… huh, where’s Chise-nii?
Kaoru: Now that you’ve mentioned it…
Mahiro: He hasn’t come back. I wonder what’s the hold-up.
Ryoga: We still have time, so it should be okay.
Lihito: I’ll go get him.
(Door opens)
Chise: !!
(Lihito approaches)
Lihito: Chise.
Chise: Sorry! Did rehearsals start already?
Lihito: (sighs) You saw what was on social media?
Chise: ….Mm.
Lihito: Three minutes is more than enough to upload a photo online. Let me see your phone.
Chise: Ah…
Lihito: Chise.
(Chise hands over his phone for Lihito to take a look)
Lihito: (sighs) There’s no need to look. This is just superficial gossip, nothing on the level of libel and slander.
Chise: Still… It’s a fact that I had to take a break from work, and I really might be lacking in professionalism, so… It can’t be helped.
Lihito: You were injured. While it is unfair to have your reputation take a hit for a reason as vague as an accident, that’s not for the outsiders to know. There’s nothing against saying whatever you want based on sheer speculation.
Chise: Even so…
Lihito: I was with you the whole time. I know better than anyone how much work you put in for your comeback. Between me and the outsiders, who would you rather believe?
Chise: That’s… but…
Lihito: Are you still afraid of standing on stage?
Chise: I…
Lihito: Then what’s with the habit of coming up with an excuse to hang around in the green room right up until it’s time?
Chise: It’s because…
Lihito: Chise, calm down and listen to me. I’m not angry with you. You don’t have to push yourself. It’s okay to say that you’re scared when you’re scared. And if stage performances are too much, you could always refuse and take a break–
Chise: No way! If I did something like that, then… things will start happening again… not just to me, but to everyone–
Lihito: Don’t mind the others. Of course, that’s including myself.
Chise: But, I’m already aware that our performances are being cut or cancelled altogether. Things like that aren’t happening to the regular talents at the company. All of it is just happening to Anthos*.
Lihito: You’re overthinking it.
Chise: Our green room for today is tiny. The music program that was scheduled for us recently also bailed out. And it’s not just them–
Lihito: Even if that were the case, they’re not your troubles for today. This program has connections to our company. They are aware of your accident and have increased the security. As for the other programs you mentioned, we can just bring it up to the company for them to investigate. If we’re really being pinpointed then it’s the company they’ll make an enemy out of. What do you say? Feel a little more assured?
Chise: Litto…
Lihito: Don’t cry. You’ll ruin your makeup. It’ll be a waste after all that effort you put into it.
Chise: But…
Lihito: There’s not a single thing for you to cry over.
Chise: But it was all because I was injured that the other members who were fine got told that they’re not suited to win a music award… and I thought that Anthos*, everyone, turned their backs on me and left me behind… that’s why…
Lihito: Nothing like that happened.
Chise: Besides, there’s definitely still people who think I stick out like a sore thumb, and that I’m just a hindrance…
Lihito: Don’t let yourself get hurt by people that don’t know you or treasure you.
Chise: (sobbing)
Lihito: That being said, if you find yourself being tormented by such words, it’s alright for you to direct them back to me. Just like what you did just now.
Chise: Litto…
Lihito: As much as I told you not to worry, I understand that you’re still uncertain, so I’ll be here to hear you out. No matter what happens, I’ll be by your side, Chitose.
Chise: …Mm.
Chise: Litto, are you sure it’s okay? Won’t everyone notice that I’ve been crying?
Lihito: It’s fine. Your makeup was fixed properly. All that’s left is for you to hold your head up.
Chise: Mm, got it.
Staff Member A: Crap, I can’t seem to find that card key.
Staff Member B: For real, for real, we had to up all this security just ‘cause of one dime-a-dozen idol and his accident.
Chise: …Eh? Litto, that was–
Lihito: Shh.
Staff Member A: Talk about making a big deal out of nothing. They’re the guests for today too, right? Uh, what were they called again?
Staff Member B: Anthos*.
Lihito: !!
Staff Member A: Yep, yep, them. I know jack about the Hana-Doll Project, but they can gas themselves up all they like and we small guys can still see through all their bullshit.
Staff Member B: Exactly. Just like that other group Louloudi*, raking in figures just can’t cover up how screwed-up they are.
Staff Member A: Something about not wanting to take in anymore greenhorns?
Staff Member B: Well, today’s gonna be no sweat, just gotta half-ass the camera and then whack together some edits in the software.
Staff Member A: Hey now, say that a bit louder and the higher-ups are gonna get mad at you.
Staff Member B: But seriously, must be a nice job if all you need to do is grin a bit and have people fawn over you.
Staff Member A: You said it, man. Wonder if I’ve got a shot at joining in. With Anthos*, that is.
(Both the staff members laugh)
Lihito: (fuming, about to walk over and fuck them up)
Setsuna: You won’t be able to join Anthos*.
Lihito: Yashiro-san?
Staff Member A: Huh? The hell are you?
Staff Member B: Idiot! That’s one of Anthos*.
Setsuna: Say, could I ask you something?
Staff Member B: A-and what might that be…?
Setsuna: Does hating Anthos* and doing your job properly have anything to do with each other?
Staff Member A/Staff Member B: (uncomfortable noises)
Setsuna: What is it about ‘half-assing’ it?
Staff Member A: Um… about what we said earlier…
Setsuna: It is a given that we will give our all. We’re not a special case. This is our job, after all. I’ll do it. So will everyone else. So why is it alright for you to not do your best?
Staff Member A: That’s…
Setsuna: Is not liking someone a reason for you to not put in any effort?
Staff Member B: Well, that’s… uh… Sorry, it’s about time for us to get back to work so we gotta go!
Staff Member A: Please excuse us!
(Both the staff members leave)
Setsuna: …They left. Even though I wanted to hear it from them. (footsteps approaching) Ah, Lihito. Chise.
Lihito: Hello.
Setsuna: What were you doing over there? Chise too, you didn’t come back with Lihito so everyone’s worried.
Chise: I apologise.
Setsuna: Hm? Chise, why are you apologising?
Chise: It’s my fault for troubling you to come all the way here for me.
Setsuna: It’s not Chise’s fault. I wanted to come, so I came.
Lihito: You wanted to come?
Setsuna: When everyone was back there together, Mahiro… kept looking worried. I prefer to see Mahiro smiling. So, let’s quickly return.
Chise: …Sena, you’re pretty tough. You were so cool back there!
Lihito: If you had just been a minute late, I would have stepped in and said the same thing.
Chise: (chuckles)
Lihito: Hang on, what are you laughing about?
Chise: Litto, you’re so cute.
Lihito: !! There he goes…
Chise: I’ve gotta give my all too!
Haruta: There they are!
Mahiro: Li-san! Chi-san!
Kaoru: Welcome back.
Ryoga: Right on time, we’re about to go on.
Haruta: Hurry up, you two!
Lihito: Chise, let’s go.
Chise: Mm!

Just saw Hamilton in Bristol and woah..... So good...
My biggest complaint is the guy playing hamilton, he was weirdly emotionally constrained, he delivered his lines in a flat way, like the punchline to a dry joke. This randomly got a lot better starting from "one last time", so it kind of feels like he treated everything before that point as a comedy?? Really weird vibe - Hamilton's defining trait is his unrestrained passion and drive, his too-strong ideals - it's what separates him from burr! He also kept doing weird things with his hands - sort of a constrained, awkward gesture that mayyyybe could have made sense for early hamilton but certainly not later on. Luckily, burr was DIVINE. Definitely a close interpretation to the Broadway original, but it didn't feel like a total copy, his delivery was just unique enough to set him apart. "The room where it happens" was amazing, and his rapid descent after losing the election even more so.
Eliza was also INCREDIBLE. seeing this live definitely made me pay wayyyy more attention to eliza and her and Alexander's drama than ever before when just listening to the album, and part of that was definitely her performance. She did that sliding up-and-down thing with her voice that i would in isolation find kind of grating, but in her early songs it really emphasised her youth and cheerful naivete - but then, starting with "I'm not sorry", the gradual transition into a more serious and thoughtful - and assertive! - character was executed beautifully. "Burn" was incredible, the way she begins by reminiscing on her lovesick youth - you've just seen hamilton descend from that giddy state all the way into his lowest moment, but here is a sharp contrast of eliza keeping his letters all these years, identifying with and maintaining that first moment of adoration this whole time. It makes her burning the letters hit all the harder. And when she goes "you, you, you" - it drives home Alexander's egocentrism and cruelty all the more.
Angelica had a very different voice from Broadway, and i felt like she struggled a little during the faster moments, but her singing parts were lovely. Her voice and the way she often stood still while singing gave her a very imposing, serious air.
Maria Reynolds had the voice of an ANGEL. HOLY SHIT
Lawrence and Lafayette didn't make that much of an impression on me, but philip was delightful and Jefferson was fantastic as well. Jefferson has always been my favourite performance and daveed d diggs is a hard act to follow - and this guy did do a slightly different take on Jefferson i think! Diggs' Jefferson has a sort of... Predatory note to him, like under the joviality there's someone formidable and aggressive, ready to spring into action. This Jefferson felt more... Laid back, but still threatening in his own way. This might just be from the addition of visual performance but i thought he was a bit more foppish and dandyish, bordering on camp at times, and this combined with his delivery of some lines - "and I'm already senate approved!", for example - gave me the impression of someone defined by his privilege, who embodies this threat that hamilton will NEVER be accepted by the members of this upper class no matter how hard he works, precisely because this caste is defined by their not having to work hard for anything. A lot of the time he seemed so laid back that it worked to strengthen the impression of his danger.
Mulligan was an incredible presence - totally delivered on his character archetype of loud, brash and in your face. I loved his showing off his leg after Hamilton's "i think your pants look hot". I did think he maybe carried a bit too much of this presence into madison, who didn't come across as quite so diminutive as he should have.
Washington was wonderful as well, very close to his Broadway version except maybe a touch more down to earth and pragmatic. I thought it was really impressive how much was conveyed about his and Hamilton's relationship in "one more time" just by tone of voice, body language and general rapport.
I've always found it a bit distasteful how king george gets a disproportionate amount of attention compared to all the other roles - I don't dislike his songs but they don't do THAT much for me. I will say tho, he had some impressive lungs on him.
Lee was kind of a snack ngl
Most of what i have to say about the story is not really based on the specifics of this particular production but just the experience of watching Hamilton on stage after years of memorising every lyric from the album... Like i said, the drama of eliza and Alexander hit so much harder for me - only now do i kind of get the impression that it IS the core of the story. It feels like the Reynolds pamphlet is where Hamilton breaks and irreversibly fucks up his life, and everything from there is a slow, inevitable descent into his unavoidable death... And the sheer cruelty of his actions towards eliza hit way harder. Seeing him standing there during the end of the Reynolds pamphlet, feebly and pathetically insisting "at least i was honest with my money" after it has been specifically said that he received maria in his own house - somehow that brought home just how humiliating and horrible this moment would have been for eliza. And then Philip's duel, with the emphasis on how he did exactly as Alexander had told him... And then the torturous process of reconciliation between Alexander and eliza, the way they end up clinging to each other again in their grief - and best of wives and best of women, where you can see so clearly the cruelty of this action. You can see that Alexander knows he won't be coming back, and how much it pains him to be setting Eliza up for this new heartbreak, how he can't let go of her hand and yet he still goes through with it... The actions of a man so resigned to his fate he doesn't seriously consider trying to change it. Heartbreaking. I cried like crazy

Keep your head up, kid.

Before I listened to a lot of hip-hop and rap, I only knew Mac Miller as another one of those frat boy rappers that dated Ariana Grande once. I absolutely have no idea what I was missing. I got into his music years after his unfortunate passing.
I missed it by a couple days, but this year is this album’s 5 year anniversary. This is an album I had quite the emotional connection with. I listened to it while in a dark phase of my life and this album is one of the things that kept my head up.
Here’s a review.
The first thing that’s very much apparent in this is how organic the instrumentals are. From the opening track, you already know this album isn’t like any other rap albums.
Come Back To Earth opens the album in a sweet way with clean guitar chords and strings. The album has a rich instrumental while keeping it lowkey. Some beats from the album, like Perfecto, Small Worlds, and Hurt Feelings, has a laid back feeling. While some songs can get you dancing like Ladders and What’s The Use, certain instrumentals are kept really simple so you can hear the song’s message clearly. Those kind of songs are Wings, Conversation Pt.1, and 2009.
Lyrically, the album has a level of vulnerability I have never seen anywhere when I first heard it. While staying vulnerable, Mac kept a hopeful tone throughout the album. Which hits even harder when you’re listening after his untimely death. He also kept a lot of his attitude and humour in. The lyrics feels like an older friend, that has more experience of the world, telling you stories and saying “Well, at least I made it here. I think that’s all that matters”. It adds an intimate feeling which will be later expanded on his posthumous album, Circles.
Here are a few of my personal stand out tracks that highlights some apparent elements of the album:
What’s The Use
This track is incredibly groovy, with a sick bassline courtesy of Thundercat himself. The first track that caught my ear when I watched Mac’s performance in NPR’s Tiny Desk. It shed’s a light on Mac’s personality that he conveyed through his music. It’s vulnerable while still has swagger and playfulness. This track also highlights the collaborators on the album. While they’re not written in the title, it gives a better picture of how this album is supposed to be viewed. This is Mac putting his heart on his sleeve with the help of his friends to convey his feelings sonically.
Conversation Pt. 1
The track that speaks to me. This track highlights one of my favourite quirk of this album, that is how Mac communicates with the listener. While talking about his ups and downs, he also calls out the listeners for actions. Because of his attitude and delivery, he’ll often sound like a friend. For me, lines like “Hey kid, you can use a little bit of your imagination. It can do you right and prove a life you busy wasting” gives me a little wake up call to do my own stuff and to get creative.
So It Goes
A track that hit me exceptionally hard, lyrically and sonically. The plucked strings and little synth lines feels airy and blissful. It highlights Mac’s musical instincts at work. As the song continues, Mac talks about where he was at the time. He drops some hard hitting lines like “You can have the world in the palm of your hand, you still might drop it”, while still being playful with lines like “Cause her pussy getting wetter when the weather dry”. You can’t help but chuckle at his humour even in the context of a song like this. At the last hook, the song lifts higher with a crescendo of synths as the album comes to a close.
It’s an incredible album with an attitude and vibe that you won’t find anywhere else. Filled with great musical awareness and messages that kept a lot of people afloat on their toughest times, including me.
10/10
R.I.P Mac. Thanks for keeping my head up.

HI KENDRA BB
i need to hear each one of your favourite song from each ts album, i NEED IT BESTIE!!
ANDRA BB YOU CANT DO THIS TO ME 😭🧍‍♀️ IM TOO INDECISIVE!!!!!! but okay pls be prepared this is gonna be all over the place. you literally did not ask me to write all this but i was excited to answer your question 🥹 ILY TYSM FOR ASKING ME 💖😭 now…tell me your favorites!!!
1.) Debut: Our Song — It’s really catchy and it was one of the first Taylor songs I learned. I’m very fond of it 🥹
2.) Fearless: Forever & Always — I just remember playing this song a lot as a little girl. It’s a cute little love song!! I’m not really a Fearless girly, but this is an OG fav for me. The Way I Loved You / White Horse are other strong contenders for me!!
3.) Speak Now: This one is really hard to choose because Speak Now was the album that really got me into Taylor. I even went to this tour with my mom 😭 Ours, Back to December, Better than Revenge, and Last Kiss — these were my top songs when I was 9 and they still are!!!
4.) Red: Stay Stay Stay / The Lucky One — I’m not the biggest Red girly either but these are some of my favorites off the original release. BONUS: I absolutely love Nothing New and All Too Well (10 Minute Ver.) from Taylor’s Version. I guess these are my Red favorites actually?
5.) 1989: Clean — hands down, my number #1 fav off 1989!!! The lyrics are just too good. Also, I associate this song with @/forever--darling’s Neteyam fic so I like even more because of that 💀 I’m so sad this wasn’t my surprise song. But 2014 Kendra would have told you Style (a close contender).
6.) Reputation: Dress / So It Goes — These songs are so sensual and a total shift from Taylor’s precious music. They make me feel sexy and they get me hype!!!!
7.) Lover: Cruel Summer / DBATC / The Archer — these are my favorite Lover songs in that exact order!! Cruel Summer means so much to me 😭 It got me through 2022. Also, DBATC and The Archer I came to love because of your Cardigan series 🥹 I’m actually planning on getting an Archer tattoo soon because it’s just so me (I already told you this but I wanted to share it with the class ) 😭🧍‍♀️It’s literally the only song I can actually relate to on Lover!!!
8.) Folklore: The 1 and August — Tbh, my favorite Folklore songs change frequently. I’ve really been in a Seven mood recently, but a few weeks ago I was in a The Lakes/Peace mood. This is the one album that has absolutely no skips for me! And, it’s the first album I listened to when I first started listening to Taylor again (I stopped following her music after 1989). But, August and The 1 are the songs I first listened to off Folklore so they automatically are my favorite. I am grateful for these songs because they literally changed my life!! Taylor has gotten me through so much in the past two years so idk where I would be without these two songs.
9.) Evermore: Coney Island / Champagne Problems — for similar reasons above, these are some of the first songs I heard off Evermore and became absolutely obsessed with. My favs on this album are also rotational (I’m currently in my Dorothea era—I can’t even listen to Happiness right now because of you💀)
10.) Midnights: Anti-Hero / Dear Reader — I am enamored by these two. Anti-Hero reminds me a lot of myself (and not in a good way LMFAO) and then Dear Reader just clicked in my brain. I specifically love the bridge. Midnights released at a very emotional time in my life so I think I just gravitated towards the already depressing songs. BONUS: Would’ve Could’ve Should’ve would be my third favorite, but the other two are more personal so more special to me.

“Welcome back, I hope has everyone returned from our little break because we are playing a fun little game with Y/N, who by the way won a Grammy award for best new artist this weekend, so congratulations on that!”
Ellen smiles at you widely as she claps along with the audience and you’re just smiling shyly, still not quite used to the sound of it.
“Thank you,” you nod looking around.
“Okay, we are going to play a round of who’d you rather. Are you familiar with the game?” she asks you.
“Yes, I’ve seen others play it before.”
“Great. For those who don’t know the game, two people will show up on the screen and Y/N will have to choose one. Whoever she chooses will come with us to the next round and at the end we’ll know who is her ultimate crush.”
“Ah man,” you huff, feeling a little nervous about who they are gonna show you and the audience laughs at your reaction as your fingers dig into the armrest of the armchair you’re sitting comfortably in.
“Are you ready?” Ellen questions with a smile that tells you just how much she is enjoying this.
“I don’t think I’ll ever be, but let’s get started,” you chuckle nervously.
“Okay, let’s see our first pair,” she starts and two pictures show up on the big screen and on the smaller one at the front of the stage so you don’t have to crane your neck. “So we have Zendaya and Tom Holland. Who are you choosing?”
“You really had to start with two of my biggest Marvel crushes?!” you whine and the audience starts laughing again as you chew on your bottom lip, trying to decide. “I love them both, but I’m gonna have to go with Zendaya, because in height, we would be better. I’m sorry Tom, I still love you!” you declare, looking around all cameras, hoping they all got your confession.
“Alright. So now we’ll keep Zendaya and move on to the next person, who is… Harry Styles. Zendaya or Harry Styles?”
The blood rushes out of your face as you see a picture of Harry, memories of the two of you meeting at the award show in the weekend flooding back to your mind. Harry has been a crush of yours since probably forever. You’ve been a fan of his since his One Direction days and your career started to take off sometime around the time he started his solo career, only difference is that it took you a little longer to earn yourself a name in the industry. But this weekend you finally met him for the first time, in real life, without you just watching him on the stage with four other men.
You spotted him at the area that led to the red carpet, he was about to step out when his eyes laid on you and though he was wearing a mask, you still knew he was smiling from the little wrinkles in the corners of his eyes. Your breath caught in your throat, stopping in your track as you were holding up your gown so you wouldn’t trip and fall with all the cameras around.
“Y/N! Hi!” he greeted you stepping closer, as if the two of you were old friends.
“Hi!” you managed to speak up, feeling completely starstruck.
“Love the gown! You look wonderful!” he complimented you and you could feel your cheeks heating up so fast.
“Oh, thank you, but I think you’re stealing the show with the boas,” you chuckled making him laugh as well.
“Thank you. Congrats on the nomination, I really hope you win by the way.”
“You do?”
“Of course. Listened to the album, it’s really good,” he nodded and your heart skipped a beat. Harry Styles listened to your album and he liked it? This must be Heaven, but when did you die?
“Thank you so much! I hope you win too, though your chances are better with your three nominations,” you joked making him laugh again.
“Yeah, just a little,” he nodded. “Here, let me help you.” He offered you his arm helping you step up the few steps that lead to the area where the red carpet photos were taken and you were thankful for the help, though you could already hear all the camera’s clicking in your way and you knew the photos would be all over the internet by the next day.
You only met one more time during the evening and you could only congratulate to each other on the wins before you both were snatched away, but you still play your conversation with him in your head before you go to bed in the evening.
“Um, Zendaya is everything but I’m gonna play this game honestly so I’ll choose Harry.”
The audience starts cheering and clapping at the decision as Ellen smirks at you, nodding along.
“No need to be shy, we all have a crush on Harry probably,” she jokes making you laugh. “Okay, next up we have… Harry Styles and The Weeknd.”
“I’m gonna stick to Harry,” you answer probably a little too fast, but if you’re being honest, they can’t show you anyone at this point who would beat Harry.
“Harry stays, next we have Harry and… Florence Pugh.”
“You guys made sure to make it hard for me!” you chuckle staring at the screen. “But I’m still gonna stick to Harry, though I love them both.”
“Alright, for the next round we have Harry Styles and Niall Horan.”
“I’m upset, because as a One Direction fan, I should not be forced to choose between them,” you point at Ellen, giving her a hard look which the audience finds quite hilarious.
“I’m sure you had ranked them before, don’t be shy,” she smirks and you sigh rolling your eyes.
“Okay, no offence to anyone but Harry stays. Sorry Niall, I still love you though,” you add with a smile.
“Harry is in a winning streak, it seems. Okay, let’s see his next opponent. Harry against Chris Evans.”
“Harry,” you answer with a sigh, crossing your legs, knowing well you will not choose anyone over Harry.
“Fast answer, great. Harry Styles or Ariana Grande.”
“Love Ariana, she’s a queen, but Harry,” you answer with a smile, the audience enjoying your obsession over Harry Styles and at this point you are not even trying to hide it.
“Harry Styles or Henry Cavill?”
“Harry,” you answer right away.
Henry’s picture disappears and Harry’s moves to the middle as the game comes to its end.
“Seems like we have a winner here. Harry Styles beat everyone!” Ellen chuckles as you glance at the big screen, blushing a little, but you are hoping your makeup is covering it well.
“You said it yourself, everyone has a crush on him,” you shrug, trying to play it cool.
“Yes, but not everyone was helped out by him,” she smirks as a photo of the two of you appears on the screen from last weekend and you cover your face with your hands as the audience goes wild.
“He is a gentleman,” you sigh dreamily.
“He really is and I have to say that the two of you look great together.”
“Oh stop it,” you chuckle, playing it over a little, just to make it less obvious how giddy even the thought makes you.
“Well, now we know that he is your number one choice, hopefully he’ll take the next step,” Ellen chuckles before moving on and asking you a few more questions as part of your appearance on the show.
Weeks go by and you kind of forget about the whole interview. It blows up the next few days, but nothing really happens, people just get excited that you are crushing on Harry just like everyone else, but it dies down pretty quickly.
You barely recovered from your Grammy win and yet you are already marching towards another milestone in your career. None other than Gucci asked you to be part of their new campaign in an amazing photoshoot and you just couldn’t say no, not that you ever even thought about it. After some online meetings and sending emails back and forth the first fitting’s day has finally arrived and you are buzzing!
Heading down to the showroom to go over every outfit they want you to wear for the photos, you can’t wipe the excited grin off your face. Growing up you could only dream about owning anything Gucci, now you are going to be promoting them so it truly is a dream come true.
Arriving you are walked into the showroom that is now filled with racks of clothes and there’s a podium with three mirrors surrounding it for the fitting.
“Y/N! Hi! So nice to finally meet you after all the emails and calls!” Nancy, the creative director of the campaign greets you.
“Nice to meet you too!”
“We are in a little bit of delay, I’m very sorry about that, but we can start in about ten minutes, if that’s alright with you.”
“Oh, no worries. I’m free all day,” you assure her before she thanks your patience and runs off to finish off whatever she was doing before.
Wandering around you take a look at the beautiful clothes on the racks, blown by basically everything you see and you can’t wait to wear the outfits that were meant for you. In the back of the room, a part is closed off for a changing area and you hear the door opening as Nancy walks out first, talking to someone following her behind and when you see the person, you freeze.
Harry Styles walks out, wearing a just a shirt and jeans, looking very casual but still, unbelievably hot. The man could wear a potato sack and still look better than any other men.
“Thank you so much,” he smiles at Nancy before his eyes lay on you, a wide smirk tugging on his lips in realization. “So nice to see a familiar face!” he beams, walking closer before he pulls you in for a short hug that catches you by surprise, but also warms your chest.
“Hi, didn’t expect to see you here, though you are kind of one with the brand at this point,” you tease him making him laugh.
“I am, yeah. I heard that you would be featured in the campaign as well. Amazing choice,” he smirks, glancing over at Nancy who smiles proudly, clearly agreeing with him.
“Y/N, I’ll get the changing room ready for you and we can start in five, alright?” Nancy informs you.
“Yeah, thank you!” You nod in her way and she is already off to do the work, leaving you and Harry alone.
“So, I learned some interesting information the other day,” he hums with a serious face and he got you curious about what it could be.
“Yeah?”
“Mhm, you know, I was watching The Ellen Show and you were on, playing a little game.”
“Oh my God,” you breathe out, already feeling the heat crawling up your neck to your cheeks. Harry smirks down at you, clearly enjoying that he got you so nervous and embarrassed of what happened.
“I wish I knew about your little crush earlier!” he teases you, making your groan.
“And why is that? So you could pull my leg at the Grammy’s when I was already shitting my pants?”
Harry lets out a chuckle shaking his head as he hides his hands in his pockets, his eyes running up and down your figure before they meet with your gaze again.
“No. Because then I wouldn’t have talked myself down from asking for your number.”
You can’t help the stunned reaction that takes over your face at his blunt flirting, your lips part as your eyebrows shoot up while Harry just stares back at you with a sly smirk on his deliciously pink lips.
“Oh, is that so?”
“Yeah, but now that I know that you are crushing on me just like I’m crushing on you, I think it’s time to make the first step. So…” he pulls his phone out and hands it over to you and continues while you type your number in. “I’m not just asking for your number, but I happened to hear that you have nothing else planned for the day, is that true?”
“It is,” you nod, feeling out of breath as you hand him back his phone, your number saved in his contacts.
“Then how about grabbing lunch after your fitting? I happen to have nothing today as well, we should take advantage of it,” he suggests and you can’t push your stunned smile down.
“Sounds good,” you nod, biting into your bottom lip.
“Great. I’ll run some errands while you are here and I’ll be back in about an hour.”
“You could stay here if you want, I don’t mind it,” you tell him, feeling like he is only leaving because he doesn’t want to intrude.
“I would love to, but I really want to see the final outcome of the campaign and not spoil it for myself,” he smirks making you chuckle.
“Alright. Then see you in an hour.”
“Yeah,” he nods with a boyish smirk before turning around and walking out of the showroom.
