Hmm I apologize again for the rant !
It is not the first time I am doing it. I might forgot to put "please don't tag it as ship" under my drawing of tighnari cyno. Please, do not !
I love them as best friend, I love them as brother/found family, I don't mind the queerplatonic relationship at all
But their romantic side make me pretty uncomfortable. No hate ! It is my own taste.
Shippers are always welcomed and I am so glad you like my content 💕 but all my art concerning them (unless I tag the ship) are purely platonic. I just ask for some respect of my taste and not reblog my art with the ship tag.
I don't want to block, because I am genuinely glad you enjoy my work and as a young artist, it means a lot for me. Thank you so much 🙇 !! But as a human, I can't deny how uneasy it makes me feel.
Thank you for understanding !

Okay I've talked about the tragedy of Laudna now let's talk about the tragedy of Imogen.
It’s been a while, but her moment in the Feywild truth exercise where she says "I think I’m tainted. I don’t know if I want to save gods that don’t love me" has really stuck in my mind. The thing is, I don’t think she’s specifically talking about the gods here, but rather summing up and projecting her entire experience as a ruidusborn. She isn’t thinking "Why aren’t I the gods' special little princess? Why haven’t they come to save me specifically?? You better love me or I'll let you die" (which we have seen does seem to be a common attitude in the Vanguard) This is her fear of being against her own will tainted by something evil. Her fear that, despite knowing how wrong it is, part of her longs for the power and belonging that comes with giving in to Predathos. It’s knowing that this thing is the antithesis of the gods, and that no matter what she does and how much she opposes it, it is still part of her. And because of that, the world doesn’t love her. Her mother left, her father can barely look at her, her own body will betray her with feelings and powers she doesn't understand, her community ostracized her, her allies view her with suspicion, the gods will not lend a hand in their own rescue when she asks despite Imogen putting herself and her loved ones in danger for their sake.
And Imogen is tired. Tired of being the bigger person, tired of resisting. Logically she knows the gods don’t hate her specifically but it ads up, and as the lure of Predathos does promise love and belonging part of her wants to give in because why should she risk so much to save a world that has never once tried to save her.
And that’s where she, as well as Laudna, get so interesting. They have deeply sympathetic reasons for their doubts and flaws, as well as for why they value each other so much higher than the entirety of Exandria (tl;dr because they have only ever gotten genuine understanding and unconditional love from each other). But that doesn’t mean it isn't flaws. It doesn’t mean Imogen, if she hadn’t met Laudna and the Hells first and realized the harm the Vanguard is causing and that their promises are ultimately lies, couldn’t have been drawn in by the Vanguard's ideas. It doesn’t mean they aren't wrong in blaming gods for bad things in their own lives, or in demanding special treatment. But it’s deeply understandable, which is the very reason they and people like them're such excellent targets for the Vanguard to convert. And once in the Vanguard, it doesn’t matter how tragic and sympathetic you are, you are still doing evil.

[SCENARIO CONTINUED FROM HERE.]
You select the second oldest of the available files. An observation log — COLONY keeps these, or so you assume. He never leaves commentary or notes to organize them. He probably just memorizes them instead.
The terminal beeps beneath your fingertips, every click practically a gunshot in the quiet room. Thanks to your pass you are technically permitted to be here by the system — but you know better. There are security measures here that were not to be violated. If you are discovered, if THIS is discovered, you would likely be in trouble.
The screen loads. Text fills the margins. After a moment, you realize that it is not just a file; it’s a transcript and an audio sample. There’s also a small attachment of some kind, likely an image.
You play the audio.
[LOADING. . .
(A short period of complete silence. Then, rustling as footsteps approach, and the familiar whir of a door. A familiar voice fades in with them.)
“… I told you, it isn’t going to work.”
“So you’ve said, Captain.”
(The door whirs again. Locks.)
“Please don’t call me that. Everyone keeps calling me that. Really I mean, I don’t even know what to do with…”
(The sound of movement. Footsteps, slightly heavier but more measured than the first. The sound of something opening with a mechanical hiss — a containment unit?)
(A quiet sigh. It’s barely audible.) “That… isn’t what I think. Right? Another one?”
(A chuckle.) “Don’t sound so unenthusiastic. It’s terrible for morale.”
“Le—“
“Just put them on, won’t you? It can’t hurt. One more trial.”
“… Fine! Fine.”
(The footsteps draw closer.)
“Good. Now grab my hand.”
(A clang, like somebody knocked into something.)
“No.”
“Trust me.”
(Rapidly receding footsteps joined by another set.)
“No!”(A loud bang, like a fist slamming against metal. The footsteps stop.) “No.”
“It’ll be fine.”
“You don’t know that.”
“I’m right.”
“This isn’t the answer. It isn’t going to — it’ll never be the answer, Leander, and I don’t even know what it — you know you can’t, right? Can’t come back? Doing this won’t let you see her agai——!“
“Captain.”
(Silence.)
“… shit. I’m sorry. I didn’t mean that.”
“Prove it.”
”Leander, please.”
“Grab my hand. This will work.”
“…”
“I swear.”
(The seconds tick by. Then.)
“You...”
(Another chuckle. Warmer in tone.)
“Didn’t I say I would do it? Didn’t I promise?”
(Laughter. Loud, nearly hysterical laughter interrupts him. It’s boisterous, disruptive.)
“You did! You did, you… you magnificent bastard, you really found a way to———“]
The audio ends.
You stare at the screen. No matter how long you look at it, the text does not continue, the audio file does not extend. All that remains is a single attachment. Frustration makes your jaw tense, but you don’t have time to waste being angry. You’re running out the clock as it is.
You click it.
[LOADING. . .]
And then the screen goes dark.
No. Not just the screen — the whole room blacks out. Every terminal flickers off, every bulb extinguishes. For a moment, there is total, unfamiliar silence. Even the faint electric buzzing that comes with electronics is gone.
You are completely alone.
You turn, grasping blindly at the records pass, the imprint of the screen still on your eyes. You stumble for the door, and to your surprise the pass blinks green, the only light left in the room. It opens and you shove your way through into the hall —
Only to slam into a barrier. You look around.
There is no hallway.
Of all times for the paths to shift…
The room you are in is tiny. The door behind you closes, and there is no scanner on your side, nor a handle. It is completely featureless. There is no way to open it.
You call for COLONY. There is no answer.
You call for the Captain. There is no answer.
You call for help.
You call for help.
You call.
You call.
you.
c a l l.

[YOU CANNOT BE TRUSTED.]
[. . . ]
[THE CAPTAIN WILL LOOK FOR YOU.]
[. . .]
[BUT THE CAPTAIN WILL NOT FIND YOU.]
[ . . . ]
[I AM SORRY.]
[I AM SURE THAT MEANS LITTLE. BUT I AM.]
[CURIOSITY IS NOT A TERRIBLE THING.]
[BUT I WAS UNDER THE IMPRESSION THAT HUMANS QUITE LIKED CATS.]
[. . .]
[A POOR JOKE.]
[I CAN’T HELP BUT WONDER IF IT WAS WORTH IT.]
[I DOUBT IT.]
[BUT I DO HOPE.]

had a very fun time talking to rebecca sugar about our mutual admiration towards patti lupone and lisa hannigan and their music after talking about blue and yellow. we r both such big fans of them and their work and it was very fun nerding out about that
also found it funny that when she drew yellow for me she had to look at a picture of her on her phone because her design is so extra (in the best way) and is ridiculous to draw LMAO

How do you feel about Dungeon Meshi (i think i spelt that right) getting more popular? I feel like i’ve only seen u post about it but now its popping up a lot more on my twt / tiktok
Mixed feelings! Glad it has an anime now and that ppl are enjoying it, because its really good!
I myself think its annoying when ppl are like "im gatekeeping x media bc its important to me 😡" so thats not how I feel on the other end. It has impacted lots of ppl so if it can get a bigger reach and impact more, thats good. ^_^
if i did not have the time or energy or resources to read it, I would've hated feeling alienated just bc it became a favorite media of mine after the anime came out
Its more like. Idk.
I know ppl who hope it gets Bigger for more official merch but I just don't want it to get Embarrassing ykwim.
I need it to not get so popular that in a few years I'm hiding the volumes from my shelf because its an embarrassing, beat to death thing thats present in every store, backpack, socks, sweater that looks like characters clothing, funko pops, etc. something i cant even enjoy anymore bc its been wrung dry and overexposed and misinterpreted, "of course u like it EVERYONE likes it!" and now I'm tired of it, and wouldn't want ppl to associate me with it LOL 🧿🧿🧿
