January and February dump

This is my most recent work of Lloyd, and my most recent work in general. I made this in the computer room at school with a painful high-sensitive mouse. We have these special course thing in our junior high, so every tuesday after class, I get to be in the computer room. For six hours... (My course is Visual Graphics Design. I'm kinda regretting it now since I've been thinking of becoming an architect... I can't change my course now since it's too late. Which is stupid.)

I'll try to draw more there! I really like drawing with a mouse cause I like the challenge. And since I'm not accustomed to a high-sensitive mouse, it'll be a bigger challenge for me!

I made these two in traditional then polished them digitally since I straight up just used a pen. I rarely use a pencil nowadays so I can learn to fix mistakes without erasing it. Usually it ends up looking like chicken scratch but I'm getting better.

My Harumi one is so bad lol.. When I was making it, my classmates around me were messing around and moving the chairs in the process, making me have to draw strokes with shaky lines. It's not that noticeable though since I made the lines thicker.

I was planning to make something for Rebooted's anniversary but I got busy... (And lazy) The PIXAL one was inspired by an animatic I saw.

If you compare the previous Arin portrait, yes, they don't look the same. I'm trying to find a look for Arin, as I do with every character, that I'll be satisfied with.

By the way, I'm kind of basing Arin's hair with my classmate's hair. Which is funny because my other classmates compared this artwork to my classmate, who looked nothing like Arin but have similar hair, commenting they're the same. (I'm not mad because I actually find this a bit humorous)

I was trying to make an animatic and this was going to be the sketch. But then again, I got busy and lazy. (Mostly lazy)

I accidentally changed their facial features a bit by accident on the second page because I forgot to reference the first page. It was tiring flipping pages every 5 seconds, ok! Also, I drew it after 2 days when I drew the first page, and I didn't have a design I liked for them yet. (...I just noticed Jay has different eye colors in both pages...)

I think I'm sticking to these looks for Lloyd. I'll try to make it accurate to this. (I think I did great with the first image of this post. Though, I made him too round for my liking.)

Discard the growing beard post redesign Lloyd has. That beard thing was supposed to be where his chin was until I realized it was too small. And it's still too small.

Child Lloyd is so cute! The eyeshadow wasn't intentional at first, but then it got me thinking, what if Lloyd had an emo phase? And now emo child Lloyd is my headcanon.

Pre redesign Lloyd kind of reminds me of TommyInnit, and I find it quite funny. Maybe it's the facial gesture, I know a lot of TommyInnit fanarts with that silly face.

For Dragons Rising Lloyd however, I want him to have long hair with his post redesign face. I'll try to make full body designs of the 4 Lloyds.

You guys probably don't care, and this is the first time you've seen me because I don't have an exact artstyle and I dont post as much, but I'm going to put descriptions now since this blog is going to be a silly little art dump! And blog posts are supposed to be descriptive. Which I should've done in the beginning and explained my works..

i watched astro boyd last night and almost cried so here are some moments that made me unnecessarily sentimental

“try being a kid for once, huebot” and then huey bonding with boyd immediately after? like okay you can compare me to a robot but ill just go find a robot best friend thanks. crying

“get this dangerous machine out of my lab!” referring to boyd when he literally did nothing wrong and is only dangerous because hes malfunctioning which is also kind of your fault, gearloose

”stop trying to make boyd something hes not!” tore me UP cuz thats so true!!! he was never made with the intention of being dangerous, he was supposed to be a normal boy, hes only dangerous when he malfunctions or when his settings and overridden, otherwise hes just a kid that really, really just wants to be treated like one

notes: reader uses she/her and is referred to as a girl, i dont know what this is, might do a part 2, no proofread we die like men, lowercase is intentional!

the twins side-eye you as you take a deep breath once, twice, thrice. they do it again but this time with suna as you breath out slowly and rather loudly, distracting them from their current game.

you utter a small "sorry" as you gesture for them to continue their game, they do as you say until you dramatically clamp your hand over your mouth and a single tear falls down your cheek.

"ok! pause!" atsumu says flinging the controller on the bottom bunk, "what is it? what's the problem."

you hide your face in your hands and start whining incoherent sentences into the your palm, "it's nothing."

"oh come on," osamu peels your hands away from your face, "it's not nothing when you're obviously distressed about something."

I'm watching star trek voyager so I'm gonna put my thoughts below & keep adding onto it (yes I'm going from tng -> voy & skipping ds9 for now at least even though I feel like I'm missing out on context bc trekkies seem to hold ds9 as like the gold standard of star trek but I watched a couple episodes & I just couldnt dig it)

the relationship of kes & neelix is so bewildering to me like what does she see in him like hes not even a bad person but he's just a lot dumber than her & has that "where's my hug" type guy energy also he's like so old not even in a sugar daddy way just in a boomer way like doesn't kes's species only live 9 years

I hope tom paris goes through some character development because as of right now he's soooooo annoying like referring to chakotay as an "indian" all the time......ugh one would hope we wouldn't still be doing that in the 25th century also I knew from seeing online discourse that chakotay's writing is stereotypical in a well intentioned but still badly-aged way & it's not ruining the show for me but whenever he closes his eyes & the panflute music kicks in I just sigh deeply

one thing that has never stopped annoying me is the fact that we literally see naomi wildman be born onscreen & then she goes from newborn -> 9 year old over the course of like 2 seasons

okay I finished it & I'll need more time to collect my thoughts but the basic idea is: I liked the show but I feel like there was lots of possibilities that went unexplored but one thing I especially liked is that unlike TNG (which is still my favourite trek) the female characters got storylines that didnt just revolve around interpersonal stuff (ie. family/romance) but actually got to use their specific skills

but now I'm rewatching the first couple episodes of because I honestly had no idea what was going on (I didn't even realize the doctor was a hologram until like halfway through season 1 & I didn't realize tuvok was spying on the maquis until like season 3) & one thing I have noticed is that NEELIX WAS SO FUCKING UNHINGED IN THE FIRST EPISODE LIKE HE COMES OFF LIKE HEATH LEDGER AS THE JOKER IN THAT SCENE WHERE HE VIDEOCALLS VOYAGER & STRUTTING AROUND THE TRANSPORT ROOM IN HIS PIMP COAT & ALL THE WATER STUFF LIKE WHO IS THIS MAN also belanna's makeup was so bad I'm sorry <\\\3

We're a monoconscious median system, and we've been considering forming a tulpa/thoughtform (we can't figure out which term to use) because we'd like to have someone.. fully seperate from us? if that makes sense? But we have ADHD and struggle to complete tasks, especially if we dont see progress, and we feel guilty about starting to form a thoughtform and stopping because we our brain wont let us. Do you know anything that we could do, or the morality of starting to form a thoughtform if we're not sure we can keep it up?

Hiya! Hmm, this seems tricky! We’re traumagenic and don’t have any non trauma-formed members in our system, so we can’t really speak to the process of paromancy and how to go about creating a paro/thoughtform!

But we do have this resource post for questioning systems, which has quite a few paromancy (referred to by the websites as tulpamancy) resources! :3

Our wife is a successful paromancer and she has ADHD! We took the liberty to ask her a bit about her process and this is what she had to say:

For me, it was important to not rush or force the process. As soon as working with Nevetien started feeling like work or a chore, it was easy to disengage and lose hope that we’d ever be able to work as a system. So learning to just roll with it, acknowledging her when I felt her presence, and not stressing too much when I didn’t, that was really important for us.

Um… we feel like there shouldn’t be any pressure to hold yourself to a standard that your disability won’t allow… If this means starting out with a character or an imaginary friend and building them up from there, that’s okay! There’s no one right way to be a system, and that includes being a created or paromancy system!

It’s okay to forget about your paro (forgetting is a NEUTRAL trait!) as long as, once you remember them, you don’t blame yourself or them for forgetting them and move ahead with a positive attitude. However! It might help you to remember them and remember to keep up with them if you leave yourself notes, reminders, and alarms to check in on them every once in a while.

We’re also thinking… why is it so important for y’all to have a headmate fully separate from you? Would you be accepting of this potential thoughtform if they turned out to be part of your monoconsciousness like the rest of your system? Are you creating this paro because you’re interested in having a new headmate who will last your lifetime, or more because you’re curious about what it would be like to have someone separate from you in your system? Intentions are everything, and it’s probably a bad idea to create a headmate for the wrong reasons! >_<”

We’d like to open this up to our followers who have successfully created headmates! If any of y’all have ADHD, how did you succeed in creating a paro or thoughtform? Any advice for our lovely anon?

john sent me his chat with you out of character (where you and him are out of character i mean) and i sent you screenshots as proof dont show it

just letting you know he's talking about you and idk of he's proud? bc he like harasses u until u say stop even though you said you were uncomfortable already. fucking weird.

I don't think it was terribly rude of him to keep messaging until I said stop, I felt I was more saying,"No more after this." Rather "Please stop you are harassing me."

But when he takes those screenshots and sends them to others, that is reaching into the realm of harassment. (Speaking about me like that, claiming I would.)I'm not sure how he thinks I am the bad guy when I want to start moving on, most of this is me reacting to them continually doing injustice to me. No matter, though. I was mostly resting, and doing other real life or internet hobbies.

That's something I want to remind everyone of, please don't get surrounded by drama or other situations, especially ones easily walk away from! I have a family, career, hobbies, a whole life. I know not everyone has more rounded lives, or use the internet to escape. In such cases, remember other websites exist, other friends. (If you're only watching the drama, it's easier too. Enjoy 😭)

Make sure you step back, even metaphorically, when things become too much.

I didn't know speaking out would cause such reactions/harassment, and I certainly didn't think those not speaking out would have to entertain the same harassment. (I am not saying John harassed Blurry, but the way John involves people who don't want to or have not wanted to speak out. Not to mention whatever John/Mycroft are doing to Sherlock, who also hasn't said anything.)

Please remember also in the sharing of screenshots, if personal information is revealed - regardless who is sharing it - remember if it is information they would normally not want to be exposed, to ignore it. Regardless who it is, me, Sherlock, John themselves, it is private conversations with private personal information.

It doesn't matter what is revealed but we must respect it as personal and not reference it, but the matter personal and private information is being shown and that is inappropriate.

Also remember anything you say online, even if it is in a private message, is public information now. It's up to us to respect it as private, and not share it, but when you say it know it is "out there" now. So to be cautious, do not reveal what you don't want known online.

These characters, while often friendly, are not your personal friends. There are mods, real people, behind these characters and they are not your friends. These mods who are projecting through their characters, while normally fine with smaller details, is inappropriate to use them to harass others. It is a power imbalance. They are not your friends. Be careful of telling them information of yourself.

Keep the discussion mature, and please wish no bad on the mods behind the characters or use personal information learned against them.

His actions show me I was correct and I should not have spoken to him. I was uncomfortable, who knows what I could have shared? Thinking he wants to discuss it, only to screenshot and share? I'm not sure his motivation for it yet. 🤷🏽‍♀️ (Or messaging Blurry when they had very little history talking, just to involve him heavily like that.)

Keep spirits high, hope for the best. Thank you, take care.

One last note on this post. Screenshots are fine in my opinion to show, if the intention behind them is pure. I just posted some to show they were in character. That was my point. That is what I proved. Once Mycroft started messaging me out of character, I have not shown them. When Harry and John messaged me out of character, I have not shown them. Even though Harry and I disagreed, and even though I requested John to leave me alone. I shared nothing.

Unless there is some threat, I suppose, I wouldn't have anything to show. But one thing is for sure, personal/private information is different from showing somebody playing a character.

Here they are :) Cristiano is on the left with the wavier hair and swoops, and Cristina has the bob(?) i like to think in this au(im making it an au lol) they literally dont even interact with the MC lol if they did, i dont even think they’d reference Katy or Larry being their parents but they would mention their parents both being league members, not saying specifically gym leaders or elite four member whatsoever. Just. League member. At first I didnt want their casual clothes to be so plain like that, but then I really looked at both Larry and Katy and neither really gave me the impression that they regularly wear exciting clothing and that may have rubbed off on the kids. But I did use their work clothes colors to make the twins’ clothes. As you can see, they do take after Katy way more than Larry appearance wise. I couldnt decide on their hair color which is why I went for the split between both of their hair colors instead. Since they take more after Katy anyway, I thought it was fitting that they kind of stood out in the same manner as she did.

Cristina is mostly focusing on school, but kind of hating it. Shes not super motivated by the work, but then again who is really? Shes just procrastinating her treasure hunt, she doesnt know what she wants to do or accomplish so she isnt sure where to start. She is 10 so Larry assures her that there really isnt a need to put a rush on it. She does like the outdoors, but mainly for the fresh air and the nice shade. She isnt a runner or anything like that. She and her Hoppip, Holly, are more like friends than battle partners and theyre both pretty content with it.

Cristiano, however, is doing his treasure hunt. Hes challenging the gyms, but doesnt have the intention to take on the elite four. Battling isnt his thing, but it is Lime’s, his Heracross. So hes making it a point to bond with his pokemon partner more for his treasure! Learn about what makes Lime so happy and motivated, yknow? I think hes more into history class or culinary. Culinary is familiar, it reminds him of his mom. And he just likes how Raifort makes history fun to learn about.

Cristina likes to go at her own pace, which is typically slow. While Cristiano is more at an average pace, just not slow, not fast. He doesnt rush himself.

When Cristiano gets to Katy in the gym challenge, he kind of makes her promise not to go easy. And then promptly got his ass handed to him by his own mother. When he did finally pass after four tries, he moved his way up to Larry, where they had scramble for a different challenge because he was honest when he said he already knew the riddle because his dad falls asleep with his laptop open a lot. That and its an easy riddle if you really know the guy. His challenge ended up just being to fight the other trainers and to give them both the same last piece of the riddle just to make things a little more fair. When he did finally get to battle Larry, he once again got his ass handed to him, specifically by Staraptor. He did beat him on his second try though, he just had to think of a better strategy and learn how to use his other two partners’ abilities better.

I know I listed their tera types, but neither twin have tera orbs (yet). These are in fact their official tera types though.

Their relationship with their parents are pretty average Id say. They work a lot, but its never really been much of a problem. Although they both would much rather do things separately and often on their own, they had always had each other. Still tho, Cristina is totally daddy’s girl. She likes hanging around with Larry because he gets it, he gets her preference for silence and lazy, no effort days. And Cristiano likes hanging around his mom because he gets to be the #1 taste tester. But overall, they both love their parents a whole lot. And yes, Giacomo is their older (half) brother! Giacomo likes having younger siblings. He was excited when he was told he was gonna be a big brother. They three of them dont have much in common enough to really hang out much, especially since the twins arent fans of the same music as him, but they make it work. Giacomo, pre starfall, does tell the others that his siblings are not to be scouted out. They were too young to get wrapped up into it and certainly too good to get into trouble with the school staff.

I would never have thought about yajirobe like dat.... bear w me cuz im a little disorganized rn but when i think about him hes like. everything being human is all about. he lived as he pleased, authenticly. a vagabond that truly does not need to gaf. He's a survivor, and Everything he did was out of survival, for himself and later for others. Of course he was a little self-serving and dishonest at times, but he did what he knew he was capable of and he did that very well. Yajirobe's got being human really figured out.

Our supposed disagreement presumably lies in the following line about him LICKING THAT DAMN CAT !!! But it's not a disagreemnt actually (not that you seem to care much about disagreeing with it anyway BTW youre so real for that) and I can explain.

My formal professional Yajirobe Opinion is that: he consistently refers to Korin as "karin-sama" in the japanese dub and that honorific I think is a constant reminder of the discrepancy between the two's status and furthermore Yajirobe is not capable of romance so i dont think tht he could gay marry the cat sorry .. But i have a lot of thoughts about what I just said. A story is worth telling if you want to tell it and when you borrow character already pre-established in something in order to tell it, well it's a bit of a situation becasue now you have to conform to the original author's writing of the characters otherwise what's the point of borrowing them ... I think ... And that's always been the line for me: whether it's feasibly in-character or not .. otherwise it feels weird and makes me a bit sick (PERSONAL FEELINGS NOT A JUDGEMENT) . .. If you can make something seem in-character or CONVINCE YOURSELF THAT IT IS then a story passes. Otherwise I'd prefer that one be honest about their intentions and admit outright something like "yeah this is out of character but I'm projecting and have a vested interest in telling these sorts of events" or something. And that's totally fine like i dare not cast taboo onto the indomitable human spirit

I can't believe these people don't have solar powered water purification plants. do Plants collect carbon to make biomass or do they like poof it into existence, because if it's the later that could be the basis of terraforming, meat has a lot of water in it and that water doesn't just disappear from existence after you eat it. weird how people have a meat based diet such that plants are a luxury food. what are the sandworms and bird things eating?

where is everyone getting so much blood. humans have like 1.5 gallons max.

why the hell did roberto and merly stick around vash. they even said that if its discovered they're with him they're going to get fired also probably jailed. i wonder what their budget for the trip is like they're going to have to contact their employers eventually. although meryl gives sheltered rich girl vibes so maybe money isn't as much an issue. i find it hard to believe the publishing company is willing to pay for so long a trip.

typhoons are ocean derived phenomena. these people have never had a typhoon.

ep 5: the achronological order of events here made me think very hard. vash knew rollo as a baby and as a child. rollo was experimented on and 5 years later killed everyone in the town. vash returns with medicine at some point after he's taken. 20+ years after the town is wiped vash and co return. so rollo's like 35 or more when we see him. nicholas is the clean up assassin for human experimentation dude and he's probably after vash.

ep6: what is that symbol. its not the 3 cities. its associated with the windmill town cult, the yellow helmet suit people, the sand ship, and the orphanage nicholas lived in. oh ok so we have no idea how old nico is either. if his age could be accelerated the other dude's could have been too. oh not the sandship thats julai's, i got it confused with a flashback. what i dont get is if you dont want anyone to die, why isn't anyone disarming livio like there were at elast 3 opportunities to take his guns.

ep7: you all need deescalation training

huh in most single cour anime these episodes between intro and climax would be the slow section but stampede has done well with the pacing.

ep8: ah i was wondering why they were called Plants and not like Manufactories or Fabricators the double meaning of plant was intentional. so most plants are made clonally so asexual reproduction? but vash and knives were... uh born? sexual reproduction??? reminds me of wolf's rain (both series from the same era of edgy dystopian cyberpunk) and chell who's a human Flower hybrid. "his genetic makeup is very human" uhhh brain hurts. if rem is 29 and born on earth then the seed ships can't have been traveling for more than 1 generation. i was going to say so plants can make electricity and non organics huh but electricity is just chemistry too so it could be organic.

i was wondering if that grey pattern on vash as a kid was clothing or skin. if the later why would it stop at the neck? in his current outfit the only skin below the neck he shows are two fingers on his right hand. ok it was clothing

ep9: the plants are referred to as kanojo (her, women). why did Knives crash the ships. His hatred from the exploitation and use of plants happened 5 years after the fall. its been 150 years guess that answers that question.

Why did the SEED ships leave Earth? If they had Plants the resource scarcity problem would be no worse on Earth than No Man's Land. If they didn't have Plants and developed them while in space how did they survive the initial years in space. Both the above are plausible options, the former it could be because pollution/toxins/not a resource scarcity problem, for the later they could have stocked enough resources for many years while developing Plants or cycled matter in a closed system.

ep10: bro get a bulletproof vest. Everyone get a bulletproof vest. Was wondering if/when meryl's idiocy would come bite her. Poor roberto dying for her character development. Who's that kid? Looks like vash but they never met. Knives? Colors are wrong. More plant kids?

Ep11: a higher dimension... mentioned earlier but still ugg. What is this? promare??? "it was aliens all along" what is this gainx ending

tesl was created 50 years before vash and kni. If Rem is 29 than independent plants were made before seed ships. that or rem cryoslept and 29 is her biological age not her chronological age.

Not the pregnancy metaphor. And did no one notice that the bottom trailing part of Plants looks like legs

12: SEED spent 200 years in space. Weird luida and brad didnt show up as important memories for Vash given that he spent more time with them than anyone else.

Lol they just sent out an intergalactic flare. Ok so cross the wall of light makes me think the higher dimension Plant stuff again but "from earth"? That implies humans werent wiped out on earth and have discovered faster than light travel. This changes the tone of Stampede from gritty apocayptic, brink of extinction, sole survivor vibes to one of empire politics and No Man's Land being a very small part of a whole.

I was wondering if the memory thing would have permanent effects. Because knives deleted/overwrote all vash's memories, but then he remembered rem kinda. its unclear while fighting for the cube how much vash actually remembered or if he just remembered that he had a task to complete and a brother to stop. post timeskip dude didn't even get himself a new arm with his reality/matter manipulation powers.

vash is so cute. He's got that irresistible failboy swag. Pathetic and sopping wet.

Plants vs plants/flora. I find the ideological struggle between Luida and Conrad interesting. Luida is invested in terraforming the planet with plants/flora even if its the slower more risky option that could take hundreds of years or more and humanity could go extinct in the time it takes to accomplish. side note i know its more aesthetics but it sure is weird that all the flora gardens we see in the SEED ships are ornamental species instead of that space, energy, and water being used for food. In contrast Conrad is invested in Plants as the future for humanity, continuing to use Plants to generate the resources needed while modifying humanity to need less resources to survive.

I found the ost to be beautiful but an odd choice aesthetically for the series. the ost was similar in design to a lot of anime osts which are often orchestral with inspiration from the romantic and impressionist periods. And this is my favorite genre of music but given the strong visual identity of Stampede I was expecting a more distinct audio style to match? Like perhaps a mix of jazz and american folk or ragtime to match the Western aesthetic of the planet with some synth or electronica similar to Olafur Arnalds or Carlos Cipa to matching the futuristic space faring aesthetic. The ost reminded me of interstellar's ost at some points.

visual foiling between vash and knives in the finale. Knives is in all white with a sharp, metal, mechanical wing and uses long striings of blades to attack. Vash is in all black with a more organic looking wing and he sprouts root like structures and makes a giant figure out of plants (roots, stems, flowers).

I just learned why roberto de niro sounded familiar. Robert de niro is a famous actor i cant believe studio orange kidnapped a celebrity.

i was so distracted i forgot to write about how vash getting traumatized gave him a fighting game palette swap

heyyyy what did you do w connor? im trying to actually make in-character decisions for my current playthrough but i dont want alistair to yell at me LMAO

minerva saves both connor and isolde! i actually vastly prefer the other two outcomes, i’m pretty sure i’ve seen the writers refer to this as a cop-out they regretted and i agree. it’s lame that there is actually just an everyone wins option with no consequences. (they should’ve had damage done because you wasted time going to the circle and back, like maybe in your absence connor kills teagan or something.) however minerva sets jowan free and tells him she never wants to see him again, which is the only way to keep him alive and free of the circle, and that means you can’t do the blood magic ritual. and minerva a) in character would never kill connor if she had another option even a risky one and b) for my plot logistics needs to get into the fade on that quest so she can learn blood magic

anyway some quick potential characterisation reasoning for you to peruse:

for killing connor: your character doesn’t trust jowan and thinks he has ulterior intentions. your character is absolutely set against blood magic (worth especial consideration for anyone of an andrastian background or also a mahariel, considering mahariel’s own clan’s response to blood magic in da2). your character has already done the broken circle quest and now fears the fade and the consequences of blood magic. your character knows nothing of magic and would rather choose a simple fight than play with forces they don’t understand. your character has had someone sacrifice themselves for them and believes connor will regret it as much as they do

for the blood magic ritual: your character is absolutely dead set against killing a child (understandable!). your character empathises with jowan’s wishes to help and redeem himself. your character does not come from a background where they were taught to fear blood magic. your character blames isolde for the situation and thinks it’s fair that she should sacrifice her life to solve it. your character dislikes isolde, whether for her orlesian background, her noble background or her past treatment of alistair, and doesn’t see this as a great loss. isolde’s pleas to save connor struck a chord with your character, perhaps because it reminded them of their own parents’ sacrifices or because it gave them a glimpse of family love and care they never had

arama once told us he was learning "nara runes" which may be confirmed by his recordings, although it seems like arashakun, arapas and araphala mastered writing as well, since they also left notes that we can read. btw i still never read araphala's note even though i had all chances to but ugh. do you know how difficult it is to pass 4 vanagni challenge when ur rank 12 and started the acc about half an hour ago? i do.

idk if that was intentional or not tho, cuz honestly aranyaka is full of such contradictions if you look close enough. or maybe im overthinking stuff, thats also possible.

well, lets play by fiction rules, where logic is usually sacrificed for narration. by narration its implified that traveler is not familiar with aranara language, including scripts, most aranara are not familiar with human scripts. we were told, for whatever reason, that arama is learning human script which may be a reference to his recordings. in these recordings arama says that he doesnt know the purpose of making notes, but thinks its fun to do. this is what narration was trying to implify to a viewer (most likely). while exploring we also may notice other notes left by aranara that we can read. prolly they were making it for the sake of fun as well, because they have no other reasons to write these in human script other than this. however the concept of such thing is still introduced to us through arama's recordings that we might have not even noticed until we returned in vanarana after completing aranyaka or maybe never.

bro i remember this note was literally the first thing i found in vanarana and i was like "sure, but nara can read notes through walls!" cuz its how i found it. and i had no clue who wrote it cuz in russian arama doesnt name himself on the first page (unlike it is in english afaik), which was the only page that i could read at that moment. you cant imagine how that played in the end when i returned after completing aranyaka and read this note again, fully completed 💀

well uh, what all of this is here for? first, i like random talking at 4 am (7 am when i finished💀). second, i wanted to remind about the fact that not all of the aranara know "nara runes", and it seems like little people know or care about it. im just mad i never got questions related to messily written notes in my vk public ask box. its a crucial thing to me due to the way i found it.

arama is one of a few who know "nara runes" as u already understood, but as i said once, cinna does not remember "nara runes". so in aranyaka (the notebook) we were inscripting all the events of the quests, and imagine traveler giving that to cinna, assuming that he knows how to read, but then he be like "actually i cant read". he ironically couldnt even read his own notes which is hilarious and depressing at the same time. would be lovely... to somehow make everyone remember about that.

i just checked the wiki and there are transcriptions of araphala's and arapas' notes, thank goodness. its interesting how these are titled "careful penmanship" and "careless penmanship" respectively. also araphala's note says 40 moons passed since some moment (which is almost 3 and a half years) while arapas' note says us about 80 days when "frost covered the leaves", which might either mean 80 days of cold weather in a row or each a year, which means these were written for 80 years? bro, i dont remember any 80 tbh, i may as well check russian... if possible. the keyword is "if possible".

What are your thoughts on the theory that the word “boy” being consistently behind mike in the surfer boy pizza van is supposed to symbolize mike’s sexuality? Or the theory that when he went to go recruit a replacement person for the D&D campaign, he went to a room full of boys and someone with a bowl cut?

i usually am all for attention to detail in the background but i dont entirely believe that one about ‘boy’ in the van. i just think the way they act and the lighting means way more than anything else going on in that scene. and the one that has ‘women’ in the background and his face looks unhappy, i really dont think is intentional at all. if one of these was intentional i think its way more likely for it to be ‘boy’ but again, not too confident in that.

as for the one of him recruiting dnd players idk if youre referring to the wrestlers or the journalists but i’ll talk about both. i dont think the journalist one was intentional at all. i think it means absolutely nothing regarding his sexuality and was just a comedic pov shot of him trying to find nancy.

the wrestlers im not sure about. but the fact that the frame starts on the guys wrestlers and then goes to the guy hes talking to as if its another pov shot and he was looking at them is suspicious?? reminds me of someone who pointed out that the shot of steve on the phone with dustin starts out focused on the tv which is playing a scene of someone underwater to foreshadow the dive episode. (thats so fucking cool by the way) so ok yeah maybe the wrestlers one is intentional.

but i think a lot of times when people believe mike was checking out other guys, he wasnt. like that other guy in hellfire or angelas bf. i think he was just looking at them, nothing more. eddies the only one that i totally think he had a little crush on based on how much focus there was on mike looking at him when it actually wouldve made more sense for them to focus on dustin given how much more time he spends with him the whole season. and theres also the fact that he inspired him to grow his hair out and dress edgier.

Oh, I see. It’s a misunderstanding.

If you look carefully at the phrasing, it says “at least somewhat bi”, I agreed in the sense of “they at least like women for sure” not “they at least like men for sure”. Again, I don’t think most of them are queer coded with the intention to be interpreted as bi.

I remind you that in the vacuum the default assumption of waifu games remains “theyre straight”, not “they’re gay”. So the phrasing “at least bi” applies over the former assumption, in other words, a better way to have said that would’ve been “at least somewhat sapphic”.

Of course I can’t read that anon’s mind, maybe they really did think they’re bi rather than lesbians, but that’s their opinion and I have mine.

We all agree for sure that they like women and the queer coding is there, so it wouldn’t be a huge difference of opinion anyway. I, personally, only would have a massive objection to “they’re all cishet” because that sounds like a hella malicious interpretation that the text contradicts directly.

So rest assured that “I don’t think most of the female cast interested in men” is my personal opinion.

However “Nobody is allowed to headcanon any Honkai character as bi because they’re not allowed to be into men” sounds like what a terf would say so I don’t endorse that.

Bi is still queer anyway??? Who cares what other people do. Sure theres a few characters like man hater Mobius or Kiana who seem firmly into the “lesbian” category, so I’d raise an eyebrow if it’s them, but Sushang or Himeko textually have shown attraction to dudes so it’s perfectly valid, and others like say idk… Hua generally don’t act on attraction anyway so you have a lot of room for a variety of headcanons, I know some folks who think she’s aroace, some who think she’s a lesbian too, some who think she’s bi etc.

Oh and on twitter there’s people who headcanon Kiana as a transmasc lesbian, I don’t like that one but that doesn’t mean it’s a malicious headcanon that should be regarded with suspicion or something crazy like that. Most likely they’re projecting their own experience and it just happens to clash with mine.

I understand the protectiveness over your favorite lesbians, I really do, but when I don’t agree with a genuine interpretation I just ignore it. Even if it bothers me to look at it.

“I hate what you’re saying but I’ll defend your right to say it” or something like that, and the reaction to other people’s opinions needs to be proportional. Men aren’t the enemy, people who try to tear our communities apart are.
