I'm really rooting for Will confessing to Mike his feelings, being very clear he just needs him to know and Mike blindsiding him telling him he feels the same or something (a kiss).

this is the dream!! here's a totally random prediction mostly based on my personal hopes and dreams for vol2: i don't think will would outright tell mike how he feels, but i feel like when he gives mike the painting it'll be a sort of subtle confession. then the ball would be in mike's court, and i feel like mike might not know what to do, but then something happens like will getting vecna'd and he gets "kicked into gear" and then BAM, eventual confession (or kiss...) by the end of vol2.. also yes i need it to be totally unexpected, i'm a big advocate for "will is rambling and mike cuts him off with a kiss"

what are the sophitz/sokeefe thoughts?

okay SO

fitz is obviously the first elf sophie ever trusted right? which is a huge indicator for sophitz from the very beginning of the series. however, fitz has been on a pedestal his whole life and has been told that he's far more powerful than other elves. when sophie is found, he becomes jealous and unintentionally takes that jealousy out on her.

a lot of his insecurity stems from the fact that he's a Vacker and has had a lot of expectations placed upon him from a very young age. that's part of the reason why he and sophie are such good friends and become so close, because they have that in common. however, what he sometimes fails to understand is that sophie's pressures are very different than his and therefore his coping mechanisms are not going to necessarily help sophie.

keefe on the other hand meets sophie much later in the book and masks much of his true self behind deflective jokes. however, he has a much stronger emotional connection with her due to his empathy being able to read her emotions without contact. he also tends to hide his past from her until it becomes necessary for their battles in taking down the neverseen.

everything keefe seems to do is to protect sophie, but it does cause sophie lots of stress and at times becomes a distraction for her, particularly when he joins the neverseen. he is also hesitant to reveal things about his past and his mother because he doesn't want to become a sob story. he doesn't trust sophie as quickly or as fully, but he understands the necessity of revealing the unpleasant details of his life.

perhaps the biggest difference between the two boys is their reaction to sophie's unmatchable status. while it's understandable that fitz is put off by that due to his Vacker status, he fails to realise how much the match system has screwed over his friends and how his status in the elven world can help shift the thinking about the match system if he were to marry the moonlark despite her unmatchable status. keefe however is not worried by it at all and is quick to reassure sophie that he has no problem with it. he is more worried about their emotional connection and protecting her while he struggles to deal with his new abilities. additionally, keefe is not necessarily as trusting of sophie. fitz is far more trusting of her, even and especially when keefe is between them.

this is not an argument for either one, i know which one i ship and this is not necessarily meant to change anyone's mind, but it's just something i've been thinking about. if anyone has anything they'd like to add, go for it!! i'd love to hear your thoughts
