I built a Cyberpunk City out of GARBAGE
(AKA: What you do when you’re stuck at home and bored to tears)
So, one of the wilder things I did during the pandemic was build my own cyberpunk city to use for a music video shoot.
The bones of the project just uses completely randomly pieces of cardboard and other crap from my garage, randomly glued together into shapes that looked vaguely building-like, and spray-painted gray and black to look somewhat on-purpose.
(Party cups and left over toilet paper tubes just add to the aesthetic)
The next thing I did was add dramatic uplighting, because let’s face it... everything looks cooler and bigger and more intense if it’s uplit. Chunks of leftover LED strips work really well, and it’s really easy to isolate just the blue circuits. It creates the illusion of scale which is important for any model to look large.
Of course, no city is complete without BLINKY LIGHTS (and I’m sure you noted already there’s some blinky action on top of the towers here) so I spent a bunch of time googling blinking light circuits and experimenting with them on a breadboard before ultimately extending the wires to glue them to the buildings themselves.
(I got a basic electronics kit on Amazon for most of the components)
Then, I put white LED strips inside of the bigger buildings (a little trickier to isolate the W circuits but not impossible!) and poked holes to simulate lit windows for ultimate sci-fi street cred.
At this stage, things were looking pretty legit.
The “final” touch was to create a virtual billboard to go in one of the sections. I had an old first gen ipod touch that I made a little slot for and cobbled together a video loop for. (Don’t worry it’s not permanently installed or anything -- it just slides in and out.)
... and of course what dystopian future is complete without flying cars...?
A little platform for a hotwheels car to go on (after it’s all painted green of course for the greenscreen.)
Insert some practical effects, some video-editing magic, and VOILA! ... it’s CYBERPUNK TIME BAYBEE.
I was inspired by a post on here from literally years ago about making a city out of garbage and LED’s and decided to take it to the next level. I’m sure at some point I could save myself the trouble by learning how to 3D model but this was so much more fun.
I probably spent too much time on this but if you’re in any way curious about what the final result turned out to be, the video I built all of this for premieres on October 15th.

You’ve known Kayn’s birthday was on the 30th and not the 31st thanks to a certain K/DA member texting him at a very unfortunate time, but you did enjoy the idea of celebrating both days in general. Kayn, on the other hand, prefers the 31st because that is what he says his birthday is. It doesn’t hurt to just simply indulge him. If he wants his birthday on the 31st, who the hell are you to say? Don’t let that stop you from doing something fun on the 30th though. Try to take advantage of the fact he has a habit of staying up very late. As long as you two aren’t caught, perhaps you could get away with a thing or two. Maybe a little spray paint to liven up this boring alley right?
Kayn might catch on to what your intentions are and he will tease you about it and telling you his birthday is tomorrow, but he truly does appreciate what you’re doing. Any moment he can spare just to be with you is everything to him.
“Is this for my birthday? You know that’s tomorrow.”
“Whattt? Of course I know that.”
“This is for my birthday, isn’t it?”
“Totally not.”
“It’s totally for my birthday!”
“It’s past midnight anyway! It’s your birthday right now!”
On the 31st, do expect Rhaast to make an appearance. In fact, it may or may not have been his idea for you to dress up like him. He thinks it’d look cool, and luckily for both of you, some people seemed to have the same idea to dress up as him. Of course, it’d be obvious to tell which one was the real Rhaast, but you? The media can just say you were just a “mysterious talented artist” who practically nailed the costume. At least they never got a picture of your face or even your name, and they’ll never know that you actually got help from the man himself.
Rhaast does eventually escape from the crowd just to go to you and drag you onto a rooftop to watch everyone else. Does he make fun of other people’s attempts to dress up as him? Absolutely.
“[name]! Look at that one over there!”
“A for effort, at least.”
“No, that’s too high! Bump it down to C tier.”
“Hah! That’s a little harsh, don’t you think? Not even low B tier?”
“Not at all!”
“Oh come on, look at that one. That one’s not that bad, right?”
“Ugh, more like cheaply made.”
Rhaast himself is pretty anti-paparazzi. Not in the “literally blinding in the camera” kind of anti-paparazzi, but rather the one that tends to scare them away quite literally. Popping out of nowhere with a loud “BOO!” and a boisterous laugh. Although in general, Rhaast is just really hard to get a good picture of if it’s not during a show. I mean have you seen him? Look at him go.

Since we’re talking about Rhaast, let’s talk about your relationship with him. He loves you. In fact, he’s the one that pushed Kayn to approach you when he realized how Kayn felt about you. In a way, you could say this relationship is polyamorous. Rhaast still gets very jealous if he’s not let out to have time with you, though it’s not so different with Kayn. Both of them can get pretty jealous in general.
“You’re such a wimp! Just do it!!”
“No..!”
“Oh come on!! They’re perfect! You even thought it!”
“Well-! Yes, I did! But-!”
“They even love the way I work things! If you want them, you have to get them before someone else does! Have you seen how that other guy was looking at them earlier?!”
“I am not doing it.”
“What’s that saying? “The worst they can do is say no”? Just do it Kayn!!"
“Ugh! Fine! Tomorrow."
"Pussy."
Rhaast was Kayn's personal alarm that next morning. He wasn't going to let Kayn forget the plan. Let’s just say he was a bit of a mess when he finally came to you thanks to Rhaast, but when you said yes, he was ecstatic. Kayn struggled trying to keep a straight face when all he can hear is Rhaast yelling triumphantly. That was also the day you realized Rhaast wasn't just his "alter-ego," but rather a whole other person that only Kayn hears and lets out time to time. Well, you did like Kayn, and you did like "not simply an alter-ego" Rhaast, so it worked out.
He definitely tried scaring you a few times. Maybe he succeeded, maybe he didn’t, but he’s done a handful of things to you and others to try and get a reaction. Maybe you grew a resistance to it overtime and your reactions gradually changed.
Rhaast does let you snap some pretty cool photos of him which probably includes him doing dangerous stunts. Still, seeing him go do what he loves to do without anything to stop him was nice. That didn’t stop you from being worried if he’ll actually get hurt, though. He sometimes teases you on that. To be fair, he does this all the time and comes out unscathed.
Heading towards your next destination (which would be wherever they had agreed to celebrate his birthday) had to be done with the two of you doing in different routes so that attention wasn’t drawn to either of you, or to you specifically. Wouldn’t want too many speculations now, though it is fun to see the fans create their own thoughts on the matter. They were either entirely wrong, or they were so close to the truth. You were going to meet up again a few blocks from the location, and of course, he was there first waiting for you in a wall just to kind of surprise you. You were greeted by Kayn instead of Rhaast, and he lifts the mask on your face to give you a kiss.
“Hey there gorgeous~”
“Hey yourself. Were you just standing in that wall the entire time?”
“Guilty as charged. You’re so slow.”
“Says the one who can walk in walls.”
“Yeah, but you love it when I do it.”
Serves as good time to just walk and chat now that you’re away from the crowd. Most people, and kids, would be at home and maybe sleeping by now, so the streets are rather empty.
“Not that I’m complaining, but are you here because Rhaast is tired?”
“If I let Rhaast drink to his heart’s content, none of us will be going home.”
“Since when did that ever stop you?”
“Yeah… But Yone won’t be letting me off the hook, so I’m unfortunately at a limit.”
“And on your birthday. What a shame.”
Whether this is your first time meeting the rest of Heartsteel or not, it’s safe to say you get along with them fairly well. Ezreal wanted all the details, but gets cut off by Kayn who would pull you away from him. K’Sante and Alune are always fun to talk to, so if things get too rowdy, you can run to them and chat for a while.
You’ve spotted Aphelios taking pictures of some stuff happening, like how Kayn and Ezreal are still bickering which he’ll post somewhere later. He’ll probably go to you to show you some photos he took of the others a few days or weeks prior. There was even a photo of Aphelios and Kayn beating Sett with plushies and pillows (Ezreal took the photo). He’ll send it to you if you ask.
You know those little charms he has on his belt of Rhaast and his shadow assassin form? Your gift to him were matching charms of you and him. He wears the charm of you with so much pride, he loves it so much. You're even placed between the two he already had. No one would suspect a thing either if they see your little charm of Kayn. It's normal for people to have silly pins and charms of their favorite artist, and if anyone asks where you got it from, just say you made it yourself. It wasn't a lie after all.
It’s safe to say both Kayn and Rhaast had fun on their 48 hour birthday.

You seem to draw Donnie covered in Spray paint (pink and blue) a lot. Why is that? What got him hooked to it and why doesnt he have to mix the colors himself?

Draxum’s lab is pretty dull color wise, and Three wanted to differentiate his tech from Draxum’s. Huginn and Muninn are the ones who buy Three his spray paints! One of those small, nice things they try to do to make the kid a little bit happy. Purple is Three’s favorite color, but sometimes they’re limited in what they can bring him. (Also the pink and blue colors are a nod to Jinx—It’s kinda funny that her colors, pink and blue, when mixed, make purple)
It would be maximum shock if they all met right when Leo and Donnie rejoined the family, before they kinda started their healing process, cause they’re probably the most different at that point.
Rise!Donnie would be appalled at AU!Donnie, from silly things like the way he accumulates layers of grime without a care—to the rude way he treats April. AU!Leo and Rise!Leo would keep a wide birth from each other and probably stick to a buddy system with their respective brothers just in the hopes that they don’t ever get left alone with the other (their bros of course conspire to do exactly that, so they can get to know each other)
Rise!Raph would probably be really worried about AU!Raph just cause he thought his brother’s make him stressed and tired? But between dealing with Leo’s anger issues, and Donnie’s…everything, AU!Raph looks ready to drop any second. AU!Mikey would love Rise!Mikey, cause he’s adorable, but he’s a little sad when he looks at him, cause he acts just like he used to, before he was thrown into the arena, so he tries to tone down the bad and make it sound more exciting so that Rise!Mikey doesn’t know how horrible AU!Mikey had it.
The Kraang would def be the Rise Kraang version. The movie would take place a little while after the defeat the Shredder. I’m still working out the timeline cause when I was first deciding their ages, I forgot about the two years from the end of the series and the start of the movie 🙄. So I’m doing some reworking on that end. I think I’ll either change them to be a few years older at the start of the AU than I made them, OR the AU and the fight with Shredder will go for a longer stretch of time than it did in the series. That way there’s not a huge two year gap of unknown time between Shredder’s defeat to the start of the movie. EDIT Now that we know the series took place over two years and it was only a couple months between the finale and the movie. Their ages are gonna be the ones listed on their character charts!!
I’m still not even sure if I’ll manage to make it that far, but hopefully we will get there eventually! Cause I really wanna get to Casey. In fact, I’d probably make it less about Leo growing into a more serious role (cause obviously he’s already there), and more about him really accepting the love of his family. We might even see a future Leo come back with Casey?? It would be so hard not to go that route cause I love that idea so much 🤣
But I honestly don’t know yet what I’d really like to do. And I’d hate to give an answer that I’d have to redact later. I’ve got a lot of ideas, but I can’t even think about them, until I put out all the other stuff I’ve got planned. So let’s all cross our fingers and hope we get there some day lol!
2012!Leo would go MOM MODE™️ EXTREME, 2012!Raph and Don would take off like a rocket with the intention of hunting down and murdering Draxum, Shredder and Big Mama, and Mikey would probably be caught between holding back tears and doing his best to tell jokes and ease the tension, or following after his brothers in their murder spree.
Basically as much as the 2012 boys would be thrown off at first over how different the AU boys are from the other versions of themselves they’ve met, they’d go HARD as the protective older bros. But the only one who’d probably actually appreciate it would be AU!Raph cause he never gets to be the little brother lol.

Animagus (Part Two) | Ominis Gaunt x Reader

Waking up in the morning is not a particularly fun thing to do but you didn’t really have to do that when you didn’t have any sleep. Heart buzzing a million miles an hour and a smile you can’t wipe from your face even when it starts to hurt.
Anne was deeply confused about your whole attitude for the last 12 hours but especially worried about the fact you look like a serial killer, with tired eyes and a smile that can stretch on for miles.
“What is up with you?” Anne groans struggling to get into a seating opposition on her bed. “No one should be this happy in the morning, not even you” She yawns half her sentence before standing up and approaching you. “What happened last night?” she quizzes you.
“Something wonderful happened, something so wonderful that I can’t tell you” you cheered with a grin on your face. Anne makes her way to her trunk and pulls out her uniform and robes before chucking them over her shoulder and heading towards the lavatory “Okay you psychopath. Studying must have really gotten you going last night” she sighs. You can’t help but laugh “It really did”.
Anne takes her leave while you get ready for the school day, double-checking your appearance the entire time. You know Ominis is blind but you wanted to look good yourself, which gives you more confidence in what you're going to do. With one last look in the mirror, you sprayed yourself with some perfume which Ominis commented on a year ago saying you smelled good and you were ready to start the day.
Normally you would meet up with Sebastian or Anne before heading to the great hall and meeting up with Ominis but today is Wednesday and Sebastian has a meeting with cross wands and Anne needs to talk with Poppy Sweeting about some questions coming up in the Care of Magical Creatures N.E.W.Ts. So you were off to the great hall alone to meet up and have breakfast with Ominis alone.
You were feeling kind of nervous, you weren’t going to talk about your findings with Ominis at the great hall because there were too many people and you still had a chance of being rejected, so you had to act normal until you can find an opening to drag Ominis into an abandoned corridor.
Walking along the corridors to the great hall you put you’re mind somewhere else, you focus on the paintings and watch how they interact with students. What looks to be a knight in a portrait threatens to report some students to the headmaster because they moved his fame over an inch. The portrait opposite him, a lady with 2 daughters, fights with the knight stating that the students did nothing wrong. It was quite a funny argument to watch but you really did want to spend some extra time with Ominis so you went on your merry way.
Entering the great hall you feel unbelievably sweaty to the point where you’re rubbing your hands on your Slytherin robes. Walking towards your usual seating place you see Ominis reading a book. Reading as in gliding his finger across the page to ‘read’ the braille. You stand over his shoulder and watch how his hand glide and notice how good his hands look. Yes, this is a bit weird but you never notice how veiny his hands are and that the beauty marks on his face are also on his hands. How could his hands be so perfect?
You grab his shoulder to gain his attention, he turns to you with his pearly white smile and offers his hand so you can sit down on the bench. Feeling nervous you wipe your hands one more time on your robes before grasping his pale hands for help sitting down of course.
“Good morning (Y/N) you smell lovely today” Ominis speaks before closing his book and putting it in his shoulder bag. Heat spread through your face not only for the compliment but also because of how nervous you are. “Thank you Ominis, your hair looks extra superb today” hoping your voice doesn’t give away how anxious you are. He gives you smile before grabbing two plates that were left off to the side.
“Here have some breakfast, I know you love the fruit salad so I made sure to come in earlier to get you some before it ran out” Ominis states before moving the bowl of fruit salad in front of you. Your heart melts, he’s so compassionate, and just wants to make you confess more.
“I was wondering if we could chat in private Ominis? Sometime during the day?” You ask with a face full of fruit salad. Ominis looks apprehensive and reaches for his drink before asking “Hope I haven't done anything bad?”
Letting out a laugh hopefully to reassure him you tell him “Of course, you're not in trouble.” he lets out a sigh of relief “Why do you make it sound like that then?” Ominis then reaches for a piece of toast. Clearing your throat “I just need to talk to you about something important” starting to feel nervous again.
“I don’t understand why you just can’t tell me now, no one can hear us?” Ominis is making this harder for you without even knowing. I mean you could do it now, the only reason you wanted to do it later was that you could procrastinate or just end up not doing it. “Are you okay (Y/N)? Your breathing funny?” That was his way of saying you might want to stop before going into a full-blown panic attack. “It must be pretty serious to warrant this response, I really hope it's not that bad” Ominis puts his hand on your shoulder and leans in closer hoping to comfort you but it really does the opposite when he’s so close that you can smell his aftershave.
Moving slightly back before you do something stupid like kiss him you quickly rush out the words “It’s not bad I promise, I’m just trying to get the nerve to tell you”. Ominis begins to rub your shoulder “Just take your time (Y/N)” before making a joke to ease the growing tension “Just say it I won't bite”. You let out a nervous giggle.
You know the facts like the back of your hand. You know he likes you because he said so and was thinking about asking you to the ball so now you just have to ‘woman up’ and do it. With the remaining courage you have left, you loudly whispered “I like you” into the air hoping Ominis could hear you. A few seconds pass and you feel like you're about to explode from nerves and Ominis's face has changed from concerned to shock. It’s been about 20 seconds of silence. Feeling rejected you quickly say “ah just joking see you later” in the best tone you could possibly say before quickly grabbing your shoulder bag and standing up.
All you could think about was how could this have gone so wrong, you really thought he would’ve said yes after last night. It feels like your heart is about to explode from heartache and you just want to crawl into bed a die. But before you could even think about heading towards your dorm room Ominis grabs your arm quite harshly and drags you back down to the table. “Sorry, that was a bit harsh” Ominis states before rubbing the spot where he grabbed you. Unable to see what Ominis is feeling at this moment you sit there in silence hoping he would be the first one to speak seeing as he really wanted you there. Ominis leans in closer so that you could feel his breath on your nose. “Do you mean it?” He questions before continuing “Because if this is a joke, it’s a very cruel one”
You start nodding your head, hoping he would continue this conversation. Until you realised how stupid you are because he’s blind and can’t see you nod. “Sorry I was nodding” feeling like an idiot you lower your head to look at the floor to avoid seeing him. It’s like Ominis knew you were trying to focus on something else because he then brings his hand under your chin to look back at him. “I like you too, I have for a while” Ominis then tucks some hair behind your ear. “I also wanted to ask if you wanted to go to the Ball with me” You could tell he was nervous when he asked you this.
Before you could even think about your actions you lean up to kiss him on the cheek before giving him a hug. He wraps his arms around your back and puts his face in between your shoulder and neck. You giggle before happily replying “Of course, I’ll go to the Ball with you Ominis” you pull away and before you know it Ominis then kisses your cheek. The heat was starting to make its way up your face and you couldn’t help but feel an absolute attachment to one person.
Both of you don’t seem to notice the twins standing next to you. “Um, what did we just miss?” Anne says but can’t contain her smile. Sebastian, on the other hand, lets out a cheer “Finally it was killing me not telling you guys” he laughs before sitting next to me. You slip your hand into Ominis’ and chuckle before teasing Sebastian when he was gonna ask the MC out.

Dog roses, or the other large floral piece I've been working on lately, which I have to admit was also inspired by a passage in Maurice:
Not far from the lodge there was a nasty little climb, and the road, always in bad condition, was edged with dog roses that scratched the paint. Blossom after blossom crept past them, draggled by the ungenial year: some had cankered, others would never unfold: here and there beauty triumphed, but desperately, flickering in a world of gloom. Maurice looked into one after another, and though he did not care for flowers the failure irritated him. Scarcely anything was perfect. On one spray every flower was lopsided, the next swarmed with caterpillars, or bulged with galls. The indifference of nature! And her incompetence! He leant out of the window to see whether she couldn't bring it off once, and stared straight into the bright brown eyes of a young man.
Even though (unlike the primroses) this is a one-off reference, it always catches my attention because, as the saying goes, there's a LOT to unpack here. For a while I could only interpret this as a specific example of the decay of Penge (and of Maurice's relationship with Clive), and then Alec cutting through that to see him, which mirrors the scene of Maurice's arrival the day before. But it's odd to have a one-off reference at all in this book where Forster so often repeats phrases and images to give them significance or place them in a different context, ie: "bright brown eyes" - and actually, in the Abinger edition, there is a second reference in a deleted bit of dialogue where Alec says something like, "Remember the roses in the other rain?" again placing the focus on the roses when he really means, remember me in the other rain, chasing after your carriage and hiding in the shrubbery to catch another look at you? So nature did bring it off once, but in a way Maurice didn't expect, and which influenced him only subconsciously in the first reference.

Absolutely has a weapons collection and he names every single one he gets his grubby little hands on.
His guns are all custom made and he has this set of neon throwing knives, razor sharp and deadly.
His creepy little warehouse is a lot less creepy on the inside, posters of his favorite movies and bands litter the walls, sure their spattered with blood but I digress, the training dummies have spray painted smiley faces and when he gets bored he likes to see just how many knives can fit in one face.
He's the best at killing and it shows, has gotten paid to kill twice now and loved it.
And with both of those phat checks he was able to spend time doing his favorite thing, doting on you.
Once bought one of those really cool looking swords from this sketchy shop downtown and tried to decapitate a guy with it but when he brought the weapon down on the poor dudes neck it breaks like a Lego set and they just stand there in this painfully awkward silence.
He of course has to shoot him so no one ever hears of his embarrassment.
Has a few gnarly scars on his legs from his early skateboarding days, if Manny bet him he couldn't grind down their highschools 25ft stair railing he absolutely does it, even though he'd only just got the board that morning.
Had a kill bill phase where he kept trynna pluck people's eyes out like Uma Thurman did the blonde shawty in the trailer.
He the type to silently sway with you in the kitchen at some ungodly hour, his hand on your hips, humming a song he doesn't know the lyrics to.
Stops mid sentence a lot just cuz he can't wrap his head around someone as incredible as you being his.
The biggest, goofiest smile on his face let's you know he's lost in lala land and hasn't heard the last 30 seconds of your conversation
But you find it hard to be mad when he's drawing hearts into your skin and staring into your eyes with so much love it catches you off guard.
Wants matching tattoos but the idea of someone getting that close to you makes his skin itch so that won't happen until he can do it himself.
Him and Manny have weekly hang outs where they each dish and gossip about their individual darlings.
His twin is the only other man he'd trust you to be alone with, and it's not a lack of faith in you, so much as it is a lack of faith in the rest of the world.
His older brothers are no exception to this rule, the rare times you do meet with them Marcos keeps it short and sweet, and he never leaves your side.

I sit at my desk as I record a Fortnite video with Danny, Simon and Josh.
I go through my locker as the three talk.
“Y/n hurry up and pick a fucking skin” Danny groans.
“Shut up Danny wait..” I respond in a distracted tone.
I scroll through my locker and settle on panda team leader.
I ready up and sip my water.
“Simon don’t take all my kills again either.” I shoot as I adjust my position.
Josh laughs and Danny speaks up before Simon.
“Wait- you two play together?” He asks a little confused to which Simon laughs.
“Thanks for watching my videos mate.”

Later on when playing I look at Josh’s skin and do the high five emote, Simon is still recording and he does the emote with me.
Josh laughs and pipes up “you coming to the party next week? I know you said you might but..”
“Hm? Oh yeah probably don’t wanna miss that- it’s important for you lot so-“
Danny cuts in quickly. “Can we go together y/n you don’t live too far away from me.” Simon hums in acknowledgement at Danny’s eagerness.
“Sure okay- I’ll message you, you can come mine and have some pre drinks with me.”
After that recording I did a few more on the same scenes to clear my schedule knowing how pissed I’ll get, recording a video with Deji just a simple TikTok reaction:
“Eugh- dej! That guy is so- mmmm- eww look.”
I say as beavo eating rice comes up.
“When I first saw him he actually made me physically gag at my phone- he’s rank.”
I say in a passionate tone and he laughs loudly.
“Would- you do the same content?” He cuts himself off from his laughs.
I chuckles and shake my head.
“Nah then I’d have to pay for an editor because I can’t watch myself do that..” I shake my head.
“Wait you edit all your own videos?” He says to me sincerely.
“And your other channels?”
“Yeah! I edit for my main, second and I mod my own social medias, while I pay Danny Aaron’s editor to do my twitch shit so- yeah,” I hum as I adjust my hair.
“Oh cool- Kay then.”
The next day when I was getting my clothes ready for the next day I got a FaceTime call from Danny, answering it wouldn’t be a problem, would help me pass the time.
I answer and smile into the phone, propping it upon my monitor as I logged around my room, AirPods in.
“Hey Danny!”
I call as I look for a dress.
“Hi- what you doing?” He responds, taking an inward breath.
“Pickin’ an outfit for tomorrow dunno to go for pink or white..” I let a ghost of a smile wonder on my lips as I shift through my many clothes.
“Pink- you look p- pinks a better colour especially in dresses, anyway.”
He says and I pop my head back into frame, my freckles dusting my face and light blue yes looking into the camera.
“Alright- yeah you’re probably right I’ll pick some stocking then we can talk, yeah?”
I pick a light pink play suit, white stockings and white flats, I put my outfit down and talk to Danny through it, after that I sat at my desk and spoke to him, a gentle tone in his voice which seemed to be only present around certain people.
“What’re you wearing Danny?”
I say after a couple minutes of silence on the call, my attention taken up by the sims.
“I dunno- cargos and a shirt. Yeah.”

The next day as I get out the shower, I put my clothes on and start on my makeup I get a knock on my door.
“Come in Danny! I’m in my room!”
I shout and I hear my door open and footsteps ascending toward my room.
He leaks his head round and gives me a cheesy grin.
“Hey y/n.”
He was in a crisp white shirt with a blue spray paint font smiley face at the back. He was in black cargos and to match his shirt, crisp white airforces.
“You look smart, Mr Aarons.” I smile and he smiles back, sitting in my bed.
“You look pretty, miss l/n.” He retorts, the grin not leaving his face.
We speak as I do my makeup, about videos, friends, family, us.
Mad I finish my makeup I order him to get the drinks from my kitchen as long as some glasses.
I smile as I face my chair toward the bed where he sits, pouring a vodka coke.
“You excited? I’m looking forward to it.”
I Say with a cheeky grin, leaning forward slightly and sipping it.
He smiles and nods.
I lean back and smile, flicking my light brown hair behind my shoulder.
“When should I call the Uber, n/n?”
“15 minutes let’s get the buzz.”
I grin at him.
Over the next 15 minutes, the two got laughs in, and Danny even getting a confidence boost.
In the taxi, Danny let his arm hand loosely across Y/ns shoulders.
Getting out the car and getting let into the party the two going their separate ways for a bit, the boys had rented a decent club in north London at a lot of people were there, A LOT.
Y/n went to go talk to george Clarkey and then Talia.
After mingling around she was getting tipsy and when in this state she got very giggly.
“H-hey-“ I turn around and find Danny’s eyes, his ones deep and hazy, clearly already intoxicated.
“Hi darlin’…” he murmured as his hands find my shoulders, his head falling slightly.
“Danny? You okay?” I say as I inch closer to him.
“Y/n- I just-“ he says and closes his eyes briefly.
“I think-“ he sighs
“I can’t help falling in love with you..”
I look at him and feel my face flush, I get on my tiptoes and kiss his cheek.
“I love you too..”
He smiles lazily and brings me into a passionate kiss, oddly coordinated from the intoxication.
I wrap my arms around his neck and he keeps moving his lips with mine, meanwhile, Ethan goes up to josh and elbows him slightly.
“Never guess who I just saw tonguing it on?” He says with an almost proud look.
“What? Simon and Talia? Vikk and Ellie? Uh- Lannan and ilsa?” He replies sipping his drink and side eyeing Ethan for a confirmation.
“Nope- Danny Aarons himself and miss Y/n l/n”
Josh sputters and looks at Ethan “fuck off.”

The next morning where Danny had stayed at Y/ns their words weren’t forgotten, a simple but gentle feel to the air, a new found tensions, just bellow awkward.
Finally approaching him as he was getting ready to leave she spoke with reluctance.
“Do- did you mean what you said or- well, and did, or was it just the alcohol, Danny?”
With no hesitation he shook his head: “I meant it, every word, every kiss, I- do love you- if that’s okay?”
I smile and feel my face heat up again.
“That’s okay..”

4 Seasons Back Yard Remodel + Crystal Yard
My 4 seasons remodels of the Petz 5 Back Yard are now available for download! And because I went on a bit of a side-quest, I’ve also made a bonus version, a fantasy, crystal back yard!
You can read my creator's notes below:
I somewhat wonder if it's fair to criticize the original Petz 5 playscenes too harshly. It's possible that the development team faced tight deadlines or budget constraints, factors that may not have been entirely within their control. However, regardless of the circumstances, the end result was a disappointingly sloppy product, and it's difficult to ignore some of the glaring flaws. While I can understand that the developers were working with dated software, there are certain flaws that can't be attributed to software limitations. Rather, they seem to reflect a clear lack of attention to detail. Here's what I mean.
The more you look at it, the harder it is to decide which flaw is the worst. The blatant MS paint spray paint "touch-up" in the upper left, that there was no effort put into blending in the skybox, or that they neglected to add textures to the roof.
Alright, enough ranting there. None of this is to say my playscenes are perfect either, but they were a labor of love and I hope that this is evident in the final results.
SPRING
I smoothed out the grass texture to give it a more velvety, manicured lawn appearance. I brightened up the dingy looking fence to a more brighter white. The original playscene had a hole in the fence, and while it might add "character", I opted to cover over it for a more polished look. I added bushes behind the fence to cover up the skybox and to conceal the bottom of the houses.
Speaking of houses. Wow these needed a big work-up. The texture work (or lack of) on these is just bad. I'm no expert in house construction, but even mostly-brick houses will have some accents like trims to break up the monotony of a fully-brick façade.
Because of how fuzzy the brick texture is in the original, I drew in the mortar lines of the bricks to enhance the texture. I added roof shingles, siding, and trim boards to the house to make it look more like a typical suburban house. Despite these edits, it's still not a "great" house - the way it looks through the windows, it looks like the house is one room lol. I wish I could put better houses in the backdrop but because Tinker doesn't allow me to edit the animated blinds, I'm constrained to keeping them the shape that they are. Oh well. We can use our imagination.
I added landscaping rocks to make the flower bed look nicer. I also added some landscaping details like bushes, garden lights, and string lights for ambiance.

I also worked to improve the skyboxes in all 4 seasons of the of the Back Yard playscenes. It would be lengthy to get into the details of all that but here's a before and after of the night skybox. You got to love them high-quality MS paint stars in the original.
SUMMER
I had a hard time with the summer one because it was hard to come up with ways to make it look different from the spring version. I did make the grass, bushes, and tree leaves slightly more vibrant. Originally I had some flowers by the bushes but I just wasn't really happy with them. At the last minute, I made the decision to remove them entirely. This makes the playscene a little more "plain" but I think some people may want a more "plain", undecorated version so that they can dress it up how they want with toyz.
FALL
Fall is my favorite season, so this was a joy to make. I toned down the color of the grass and added fall landscaping motifs. Recoloring the tree's leaves was done by using Photoshop's gradient map feature. If time permits, I may do a tutorial on this in the future.
Gradient mapping is a powerful tool for recoloring almost anything. It can give way better results than methods such as hue/saturation, replace color, etc. And thanks to photoshop actions, applying this recolor to all the animation frames took just a couple of minutes.
Unfortunately, the fall leaves look "bright" in the nighttime version of the playscene. There does not seem to be a way to implement a darker version of these leaves for the nighttime playscene. If you look at the sprites in Tinker, you'll see that there are two sets of animations for Leaves A, B, and C and they're labeled "PropsAd" and "PropsAn", which would lead you to think that the developers originally intended for there to be a set of leaves for the day time, and a darker set for the night time. I guess the developers scrapped this idea because this does not work in the actual gameplay. When I experimented with this, the game appears to randomly display the nighttime sprite even during the day time, effectively ruining the intended affect. I'm not sure why the developers scrapped this. Either they had issues coding this properly or were just didn't want to put in the effort to make two sets of leaves.
WINTER
Instead of doing recolored leaves for this scene, I made all the leaves transparent and added holiday lighting to the tree. I know the lights aren't perfect - it was kind of hard to make out which direction a branch was going, so it has hard to maintain 'perfect' perspective.
CRYSTAL YARD
This is a bonus playscene that I made because I got a little side-tracked as I was working on the 4 seasons back yards. This is inspired by the Suramar zone from World of Warcraft, so it has a bit of that fantasy, night-elf feel and color scheme. It's been years since I've played WoW but I still appreciate the enchanting aesthetic of the elven zones.
I used gradient mapping again to recolor the leaves to give it this lavender, shimmery, iridescent look. I did a little bit of gaussian blurring and layer effects to make them look a little more "glowy" than the originals.
As before, Tinker won't let me edit the blinds, so it limited what edits I could do to the houses. I would love it if I could have done curtains instead or something. I did my best to make these houses look a little less suburban and more elven. It's not perfect but it was rough working with what I had.
KNOWN ISSUES / THINGS I COULDN'T EDIT
As far as I'm aware, there is no way to turn off the snow effect for seasons like summer where it wouldn't make sense. This probably involves some code-editing that is beyond my technical skillset.
The winter playscene still has the green grass footprint when your petz walk. The sprites for these are not housed within the .env itself but in the Petz 5 Rez.dll file. It would probably involve a bit of tweaking in the code to switch the sprites to something else.
The fall leaves are "bright" in the night time version because there is no way to implement a second, darker set of leaves.
I cannot edit the blinds animation. Tinker gives you an error when you try to edit this sprite. This unfortunately limits what edits I can make to the house and the fence because of where the sprite is positioned.
If anyone does know of solutions to these, do let me know as I'd love to enhance these scenes further!
ICONS
Making the icons for these was also a fun little project. For some odd reason though, the game puts a stray pixel over them when I import them through LnzPro. I did my best to disguise them but there does not seem to be a way to fix that.

So. A couple years ago, I thought to myself- "I'm gonna re-draw a scene from the Ruby and Sapphire wedding in my style", y'know, for the fun of it. So I sketch it out, and then very carefully start going over the lines I like with a dark pen, erasing what I don't need. When my pens are running low on ink, I'll pick something that doesn't get used often (like a gray, green, or purple), and then adjust the color later after I scan it, doing little art edits. I really wasn't going to add much else, just the lines-art...
Then I accidentally spilled my cup of tea on a bunch of papers, because a blue-jay smacked right into my window, yelled at me, then flew away. All the colors ran into a mess, and I simply did NOT have the strength to try and fix it. So I ignored it for a while... then recently looked through some papers again, and decided to do something about it. Normally, I'd trace over what I could still see and start over, but for some inexplicable reason, I decided to try and make something out of the original. With a new pen, I re-drew the faint lines I could still see, then painted over ALL of it with white acrylic paint. After it dried, I added more colors with my pens. I decided to use warm colors for the shading, and cool colors for the lines. I kept adding more ink, more paint, and so-on until it was finally done! Then I sprayed it with some sealant so it wouldn't smudge.
I added extra details; texture to Ruby;s hair, more accents to her dress (transparent fabric at the ends, and arm slips that leave the fingers exposed, so it helps combine with Sapphires gloves when they Fuse as Garnet), and some style to her boots. Ruby's expression is sort of that trying-not-to-laugh-and-cry face, when you press your mouth into a little line (and though Sapphire looks calm, she's very eager to finally share their kiss~). Mostly the same pose as the original, Ruby in her wedding dress on the left, Sapphire on the right in her suit, holding hands together between them. I added more folds and creases to their clothes, and gave Sapphire beads in her ahir to match a bracelet for Ruby~

A Question about Terrain Paints
After some hours of googling and coming across interesting details about the Sims 2 game that I didn't know about yet, but not getting an answer for what I had googled for in the first place, I have no choice but to ask for help (and to say sorry if the answer to my problem is obvious for anyone but me):
So, the terrain in one of my lots looks like this:
This isn't terrain paint, it's the default. Whenever I tried to cover it with new terrain paint, the brown spots were shining through whatever paint I was laying above it. I deleted the few custom terrain paints I had in my game, and while that didn't cause the terrain to turn into a flashing blue surface, the spotty terrain persisted.
However, now the Maxis' terrains were forming square patterns when spraying them on the ground, only the garden earth paint from the base game was able to cover the spots up correctly.
Using the boolProp lotTerrainPaints false cheat makes the terrain normal again (but then you cannot apply any terrain paint at all), turning it on again transforms everything into molehill country again. Moving the lot to another place in the neighborhood doesn't help either. The lot is the only lot in the neighborhood with this problem, though it's the most played one in the hood - it's a residential lot with four Sims on it.
I took a look at the CC terrain paints that I had taken out and couldn't detect anything suspicious, except that their texture size is bigger than Maxis'.
So my questions are:
"Is it possible that I sprayed too many terrain paints on top of each other over the course of time so that the game had enough of my shenanigans and went on strike?`"
"Are there any cache files to delete other than the Groups and Accessory cache?
"Is it possible to somehow edit the lot file with regard to the terrain paint (never worked with lot files before)? If yes, could anybody point me to a corresponding forum post or something like that?"
I'm reluctant to just delete the lot and pretend nothing had ever happened. I'd prefer to carry out some more experiments first. ;)

EDIT: I did some more testing and obviously the garden earth terrain paint (mentioned above) is different than the other paints in that it is able to remove the brown "knolls", but only when you cover the ground with it FIRST and then do the ctrl-clicking.
All of the other MAXIS terrain paints do nothing but keep acting weird, refusing to make anything else but building square patterns. The testing took place without any custom content.
EDIT2: The plot thickens. I discovered that another MAXIS terrain paint is able to act normal: the mulch terrain (I must have overseen it until now). It's not able to remove the spotty brown terrain like the earth terrain paint does, but you can spray it on the ground like a good terrain paint. What I find weird is that these are the only two earth-like brown paints in the game .... BROWN like the spotty brown terrain. Am I going crazy?

So I know, from a poll I did this week, that there are a lot of people completely new to The Last of Us. So let me try to quickly sum up (edit: I'm ADHD that didn't happen I'm so sorry) why this picture is causing people to gush
During the game you can find collectables, these can be comic books (the one Sam and Ellie were reading), firefly pendants, notes, etc
One series of notes you can find are all laid out as environmental story telling of what happened in the sewers (access tunnels in the show)
Ish (ala Ishmael) cast out to sea in his boat as the pandemic started, when that was no longer viable he came back to shore, saw that indeed everything had gone to shit, and set up inside a locked sewer system
He traded for a while, eventually inviting some families inside with him. They set up a thriving little city, full of families, with working water systems, gardens, schools, living quarters, the works (the place is huge and takes up and entire chapter of the game)
Then, just once, someone forgets to shut a door tight. And that's the end, you even find a pile of bodies under a tarp, and realize it's most of the children. A note nearby talks about how they were trapped, infected pounding on the door, and "I'll make it quick...if it comes to that" with "they didn't suffer" scrawled on the ground nearby
Once you escape said sewers you find a spray painted DON'T ENTER, DEAD INSIDE kind of thing on the outside door "thanks for the warning on the other side!" Ellie quips and you head to a nearby suburban area
Inside one of the houses you can find another note from the man who had to kill the children, agreeing that he and his family joining Ish might work out "now that wasn't a very good idea was it" -Joel
And a bit further on finally another note from Ish about what happened. He and the first lady he invited in, and some of her family (but not all) were the only ones to survive
So in the show? That horde that crawled out of the basement? That was, indeed, the whole group that Ish had tried to save in the access tunnels. The drawing was a nod to game players to say "yes this still happened, you know what must be coming"

🎀 : Edit , I saw the first movie for the first time in a few years, so I updated a few things to make it a little more accurate to Miles himself. So, enjoy!

🕷️ : once you actually explained it to him he might have made a small "awh"
🕷️ : BIG BROTHER CAREGIVER 100%
☕ : he won't admit it but he can be overprotective of you at times.
☕ : he doesn't let you cross the street on your own if you regress under 10. So he mostly holds your hand in public
🕷️ : “Cmon bubba, hold my hand for me, okay?”
🎒 : remember when I mention he can be overprotective? Yeah. Baby carrier 90% of the time. Though he tries to avoid it if you don't like it or don't use it alot
🎒 : though, he WILL use a baby carrier if he took you out on a 'mission'. He just cant really carry you while in the air, and he doesn't want you to fall.
☕ : if you don't like heights he'll literally just run on the ground. He doesn't like scaring you, so he'd just do his spiderman jobs on the ground if he can help it.
🍼 : he loves to play games with you. Wether that be virtual games like Minecraft, or physical games like hide and seek or tag. If it's a physical game, he would play "peek a boo" with you
🍼 : "where did Miles go..? There he is!” *He takes his hands off his eyes*
☀️ : Gwen literally adores you. She loves playing pretend with you, and will drag miles into her shenanigans. If you like dress up, she'd usually play knights and dragons.
🎧 : if you're noise sensitive, he'd make sure to keep his music down or personally buy noise canceling headphones (he designed it himself)
☁️ : If you stim, he stims too. He has a swaying stim, a dancing stim and a leg tap stim. change my mind
💤 : not a super strict caregiver, but you have a bedtime. He can usually be convinced for a longer bedtime schedule for that night with some puppy eyes
💤 : he lives for physical affection. He loves to have you sit in his lap or keep his arm around your shoulder. He was awkward at first when it came to physical affection, but came around rather quickly
🖍️ : if you like to draw he'll let you draw in his notebooks. He'd always end up putting them up on his walls. Ganke thinks it's a nice change of colour
🖍️ : the only person he trusts to babysit you is Ganke. Ganke is one of the most chilled babysitters out there. Semi-verbal caregiver but usually gives you things you might need and letting you do your thing
🖍️ : if grown close overtime, Ganke would Share his comic books with you
🎨 : Miles might've took you to spray paint a wall that one time—
🧃 : his usual petnames/nicknames are between "bubba/bud/little one/prince(ess)"
🕷️ : I headcanon he has a pet jumping spider named "Charlotte" (Charlotte's web reference heh)
🕷️ : if you don't like spiders, he usually doesn't let Charlotte out when you're at his apartment

Miles held your hand gently, with a hint of firmness and protection with it. You regressed during school about 2/3 through it and he found out about it. You felt embarrassed since this was the second time this week, but truthfully he didn't really mind. In fact it just made his 'big brother' side come out more. He smiled gently, nudging your shoulder slightly with his. trying to gain your attention as you spaced out. "You okay there, bubba? You seem to be more spaced out than usual.. are you okay?" He seemed to be concerned for you. But kept a gentle tone for you, so he wouldn't scare you accidentally. You shook your head, pouting your lip slightly. You raised your arms up, doing the small Grabby hands to catch his full attention. And unsurprisingly it worked pretty well. He stopped walking and turned to you. "Yeah? You want me to pick you up, little one?” he asked, tilting head slowly before his small neutral smile turned into a goofy grin. "Aw, well, alright then.. c'mon bud” he smiled, picking you up without a struggle. He rested you carefully on his shoulders before walking again.

Since I didn't find a promising list of Fanfics with Mikey Centric, I'M MAKING MY OWN
You can leave suggestions, THEY DON'T HAVE TO BE FROM 2012 OR MIKEY, JUST THAT HE IS MY FAVORITE CHARACTER AND THE BOYS FROM 2012 WERE VERY FUCKED, but I am also open to reading from all the series and all the characters. (If you recommend LFLS I'm going to throw you out the window)

When Raphael brings home a new friend with wide blue eyes, a face full of freckles, and a brown belt in karate, the whole family gets a taste of what it might have been like had Michelangelo survived (I just love this story :])
WALK WITH OPEN HANDS Mikey’s head snaps up like a rubber band, so fast it hurts his neck. His father is standing in the doorway, whole and unharmed and strong. He tilts his head, taking in the probably dumb way Mikey is just standing there staring up at him (I'm pretty sure I still don't understand the ending. BUT FUCK, IT'S A WORK OF DAMN ART)
TRAVELING SO FAR TO GET THERE The sound of the apocalypse is a pop number from 1968 by The Foundations. And that’s only because Raphael’s little brother didn’t have the common courtesy to get a decent punk-rock song stuck in his head on the day they fell into this hellscape in the first place. He’s just saying, The Clash or The Offspring or even Fall Out Boy would make more sense, like, thematically. Instead he’s stuck listening to—. “WHY DO YOU BUILD ME UP! BUTTERCUP, BABY, JUST TO LET ME DOWN!". “Mikey,” he yells across the street, “I swear to GOD!” (Long description, and yes, The Foundations became my favorite artists for a week just because of this story)
PROBLEM CHILD Michelangelo has three overprotective big brothers, some questionable friends, a burgeoning need to make himself useful, and a lot of growing up to do. (MY GOSH YOU'RE GONNA LOVE THIS ONE)
I'VE BEEN AFRAID OF CHANGING It’s not fair. Donnie’s so smart. He’s tired and overworked and unhappy, but he’s smart. How can he get this one thing so wrong? How can he not know Mikey as well as he used to, like all of those years of being each other’s best friends and co-conspirators and secret-keepers from where they were relegated to the “B Team” aren’t as intrinsic and important and fundamental to him as they are to Mikey? How can he look at Mikey, right in the face, and not understand him at all?. Something breaks. (I hate myself for thinking the deleted scenes from 2007 were trash)
-And like these stories, she has thousands more, only these are my favorites and they have Mikey in them, but yes, it has Leo and Usagi, Raph and Casey, Donnie being... Donnie i guess
