Designing a cute little Chibi Robo and Telly Vision Sticker

This will also be a tattoo, a sticker themed tattoo! Chibi Robo is one of my favorite games in the world. I’ll put a cut in this so I can fully rant about my love for this game. But I am truly excited to get this one done. This will be my third tattoo I’ll have done and when I do get it I’ll show you all (and i’ll show my other two as well) So look forward to that!

Ok ranting time! I’m not normally good at games, I have made a few comics about it, I’m not even really exaggerating. I’m just like that, but it’s fine and I still enjoy gaming when I have the time and energy for it. But Chibi Robo was one of the few games that I am able to play easily. Probably because I invested so many hours into it as a kid. Or maybe because it was a Nintendo so it was child friendly and therefore Doodle friendly lol. It’s also the only game I’ve ever gone full completionist on. I’ve done every story line fully. I’ve collected everything in it, I got all the stickers, I found that weird little black white monkey-bear thing. The one with the red heart on it’s chest, I forgot this name. Seen all the receipts, I’ve collected all the scraps of fabric and then save and loaded my file so I can see all the pajamas Mrs. Sanderson can make! I’m pretty sure I’ve collected everything. I also love all the characters in the game. All of them are so goofy and flawed, but I love them so much. I won’t get into every single one of them. (maybe in the future I will if I ever feel like it lol) But I gotta high light at least one of them. Drake Redcrest being that one because he is #1 in my heart. My GOD is he funny. He has a fully human sized ego inside of a heroically small action figure frame. Also he is an absolute contradiction too what his TV persona is supposed to be. The whole thing about the TV character is he is supposed to be a hero who questions what is Good and what is Bad. His theme song even says, and I quote, “Justice is what he claims to fight for. But it’s a mystery, what does this justice mean? He hasn’t got a clue.” But in the game he actively does not question anything. He runs on full stereotype. He is a handsome hero and he tries to court a pretty princess toy, not cause he loves her but because that is what heroes do. He’s upset when he is easily defeated by a rampaging teddy bear because he believes as a hero he should’ve defeated it. When the aliens arrive (yeah they're are aliens in this game, it is a strange game, I love it so much) and they have a terrible fever. Drake shows up and not understanding the aliens or the situation is like “Halt alien scum! I the hero will defeat you!” and he blasts them with a frost attack. Ironically helping them out and saving the day in a completely different way. He is a big meat head. But is he a mean guy? Absolutely not. He is very kind to chibi robo when he first arrives. Appoints Chibi Robo as the Universe’s 99th Space ranger and gives you a little uniform. You are free to patrol with him anytime you want and he is full of gusto. In short this man is a himbo because he has good intentions always even if he is oblivious. Honestly I could go on forever about this game and why I love it so much. It is a strange game. It doesn't really fit into a genre cleanly It's part-platformer, part-adventure, part-amiable helper game, part shooter, etc. It’s crazy. The humor is weird but I both laughed at the jokes as a child who didn’t fully understand and I still laugh at the jokes now that I fully understand. The art style is very geometric and stylized. But I think that works in it’s favor because it is still enjoyable to look at, even now. It’s so colorful. The music slaps too. Drake Redcrest theme, the little shop theme, even the damn game opening theme. It’s so goofy and charming, and the Sound Design is unique and very musical, Chibi robos footsteps are like little music notes and they change depending on what he is walking on. The carpet, the tile floor the wood, it’s all got it’s own little sound. And the toothbrush theme OH GOD I LOVE that toothbrush song. When Chibi Robo cleans dirt off the floor he uses a little toothbrush to clean because he is a little guy. and that song is so soothing. I will go out of my way to clean dirt just to hear the song. Just a masterpiece. OK I willy finally stop ranting about this game before it gets too much longer. I just love this game to death though. Chibi Robo has a very special place in my heart.

BG3 Patch 4 woes

Update: *waves a white flag* Puts all my mods back into the game and most of the old saves. Even after removing the mods, reinstalling the game, and updating my graphics card the damn kiss still doesn't work. So. I. GIVE. UP!

I only have the kiss on Anna so, after weighing all the pros and cons, I'm just going to keep my mods and progress. Given Anna's game was started waaay back when the full game dropped, and all the patches she's been through, I wouldn't be surprised if perhaps the kiss only glitched with just her. Cautiously optimistic Larian will fix the kiss for everyone eventually. Until then I'm just going to just play and try to enjoy the rest of the game.

Yesterday, after I noticed we got hotfix for patch 4, I decided to load up my oldest save with Anna and tried to kiss Astarion. As usual, since patch 4 dropped, I got nothing. Frustrated, I changed Anna's hairstyle back to her old default one and tried to kiss him again. Nothing. I then created a new save and closed the game. After I removed all my mods I loaded up that new save and discovered I can't even click on anything now.

"Great, just fucking great!" I mutter to myself as I created another save after removing all the mods. I then shut down the game, booted it back up, and reloaded the "fresh save" in the hopes that would fix it.

Nope! Of course, it did not work. Again, I couldn't click on anything. I next tried to make a new game. I got the infamous half-a-dozen naked guys around the Dragonborn Durge chilling in the astral area bug. Never in my life have I been so disappointed at seeing so many pixel dicks at once.

So yeah, at this point, I'm pretty sure I've lost everything. Still, I try not to cry about it. Instead I look at it as a chance to start fresh. To widdle down all my Tav's and Durges I made to my top favorite five. Plus since I made a habit of taking lots of photos during character creation I figured, "Hey at least I can easily recreate them and this time avoid some of the mistakes I made in the past."

Silver lining and all, right? Before uninstalling, I did try to verify the integrity of the game's files, to no avail. So, I bit the bullet and reinstalled the game. I did back-up my old saves, but I doubt they will work even after the reinstall.

My only complaint is the waiting. It's been well over 15 hours, and the game has still not finished downloading. I'm currently at 61%. Yaaah for potatoe download speeds. If this reinstall doesn't work, I might cry then. As I'll have to uninstall again, dig into the folders, and make sure all files have been purged.

Due to this headache, I think I'm going to run a vanilla mod-free game for the foreseeable future, which sucks because at least two of my fav Tavs/Durges use mod heads.

Rest in peace my lovely favorite Tavs and Durges, at least for now. <3

Vincent: Mod head, hair, and gear. My grump Durge that I won't be able to recreate anytime soon. ;_;

Gustav: Mod hair and gear. I can recreate him, but I'll miss his lovely fluffy hair and fancy outfits.

Anna: Just mod hair with her and my oldest play through with the least amount of mods active. She also had the pre-patch 3 dye looks I will dearly miss. The one plus side is I can recreate her in my sleep since I've made her dozens of times over since EA. But she was the only playthrough I had in Act 3 with a repeatable kiss option.

Tav: Mod head and gear. My other playthrough I won't be able to recreate until BG3 updates slow down or at least stop breaking mods so damn hard.

"Dammon"

Dammit, okay for him... I might break down and install two mods-but only the two! One that unlocks his eyes for character creation and another that lets me turn any of the companions into him. My thirst is strong for Dammon. I need more of him in my game. This is not negotiable.

Let's Play A Terrible Wrestling Video Game, TEW 2020

I've been feeling the call to play TEW 2020 again. This is a text-based pro wrestling management video game that just sucks so much ass. That screen you see above? That is the main window and it cannot be resized. Seriously, I'm fairly certain every menu in this game is just an image file with clickables put over it. Nightmarish.

Anyways, the cool thing is that people make their own mods for this game, either building up entire fictional wrestling universes (the game comes with it's own version of this, the CornellVerse, that has been building and changing with each entry) or mapping out the mod-makers approximation of the real world. Today, we're going to be making a new company using Real World Chronicles 2023, the June 2023 edition.

Anyways, let's start our save!

Now. I'm playing with a larger mod database, which means there's a lot of data to crunch, but like... this hangup happens anytime I play this game unless I'm playing an "organic" save (you start w/ the bare minimum in the database and let the game generate new stuff), but this always freaks me out.

Now we have to pick who we're playing as and folks... this list is a doozy.

Usually what I like to do is start with a created User Avatar (I think that's what this game calls player characters), where I set their stats up basically to the max but I never have them do in-ring work, usually just commentary. I... forgot to do that this time. I don't wanna back out, so I'm just gonna pick someone who is closest to me in age. In this case, I'm playing as Poppy who I guess has worked closely with WWE's NXT brand to make music for them??? She's 28, I'm 29, I've already imposed this rule on us.

The second thing we set is "User Talents". These traits (Negotiating, Motivating, Creativity, Leadership, Diplomacy, and Silver Tongue) will help and hinder us in certain ways, and we will get more points for every X number of shows we run. At the start we have 30 points, along with some template options. Usually I do not care about this and pick Jack of all Trades to get 5 across the board. But let's go full chaotic and do Lucky Dip. This will give every one of our stats a random number, so our total could be higher or lower than the initial 30.

That's... not great? So negotiating is maxxed out, which means we can really have our way in contract negotiations. Diplomacy is also high at 9, which means when incidents happen back stage we should be able to handle them better. Leadership of 5 is basically neutral, and would give us a passive bonus to backstage/locker room morale. Creativity of 3 is less than neutral, and handles Gimmick changes and Heel/Face turns. Silver Tongue at 1 is awful, that handles how we can talk workers into doing angles/matches they may not be jazzed about. Finally, Motivating is at 0 and this means our workers will likely have loads of "off" days. This is 28 points total, so we missed out on 2 points and the spread is bonkers. We cannot reroll this. We must move on.

Next thing we can tinker with is Preferences. This will impact how our matches and promos are rated, which impacts how our shows are rated, which impacts how our audience perceives us, and on and on. There's a lot here, but I keep it on "Standard" from the drop down and also add "Enable Dirt Sheet" since that will tell us what is providing positive or negative impacts on matches and promos. It'll really help us figure out what is or isn't working on our shows!

Now we could start with an already established company (WWE, Impact, AEW, etc) with this, but I always prefer to make my own way in the world. We will start as Unemployed and make our own company!

Here's our start screen. It's... a lot. This will be good to see when new wrestlers get generated, or when other companies go under or let go of people, but for right now we do not care about this. We care about the "Start Own Company" button. And I happened to throw together a logo and a name, so we should be good to set up True Power Wrestling. And it's time for yet another awful menu.

This used to be better and worse in some ways. In the last game, TEW 2016, you used to build your own product based on a handful of different axis ("Mainstream", "Realism", "Comedy", etc.) and how important they were to the types of shows you were putting on so you could fine-tune what you wanted your audience to care about, and what may or may not be fit for television. It was a worse menu, but allowed you some cool options to really make the product you always wanted. In TEW 2020, the devs have effectively laid out that people were "gaming" the product setting system, and there's only so many distinct types of wrestling that exist or could exist, so they've just made a drop-down of all the wrestling products they think are possible. If you have an idea for a product type you think is missing from the game you can ask nicely on the forums and they will maybe add it in a future update.

I'm not gonna go over what each and every product is, but I'm going to use the Family Friendly Pro Wrestling product you see above. In my mind I'm thinking "what if my idealized version of 90s/2000s Cartoon Network had a wrestling show". 70/30 Match and Promo split for TV shows, 85/15 for events, wrestlers are rated 30/70 on in-ring performance vs popularity, and we really want the matches to be family friendly. No high-risk moves, no spinal-impact moves, and "called in the ring" means that our workers will know how long a match needs to go and who's winning, but otherwise no other planning is happening.

Additionally, I'm starting under the "Rock Hard" conditions. This means our company will be barely known, have 0 prestige, and start w/ $2,500 in the bank. We will be changing that dollar amount soon, but I love to play "Backyard to Global" style where we start as complete unknowns and see how popular we can get before I run out of steam.

We have started True Power Wrestling. This will be our actual main screen, as this hellish menu will be how we make changes to our product. But first, let's see what the internet says Poppy's net worth is.

Uhhh I forgot how nightmarish those types of sites are, but the number I'm getting is between $1-3 Mil. I'll say Poppy is putting $1 Million of her own Net Worth into True Power Wrestling.

Now we gotta start looking for workers. Poppy is a Personality, which means she'll talk on-screen and be a personality, but she's not gonna do any in-ring work. She will not take a pile-driver. So we gotta find literally everyone else: Wrestlers, Refs, Announcers, Commentators, Road Agents, & Managers. Let's look at the "Workers" tab.

An overload of information, but! We're only looking for a couple things right now: Psychology, Popularity, if they will work for us, and if they are a good backstage presence. Psychology is just a rating of "can they tell a good wrestling story in the wrestling ring", so that'll be good for our actual show ratings. By clicking "Search" we can narrow down what workers will show up in this tab.

I'm not going to go through every single worker we add this way, but know I'm messing around with these filters to get us workers. When I find a worker who looks like they may be a good fit, I click negotiate and I get this:

Now you gotta make a contract offer. There are handshake deals and written deals, with either of them having the option to be "exclusive" so they can't work elsewhere. I usually try to make the numbers multiples of 10, and a little higher than what the game tells me to give just so the workers are in a good mood. As a backyard promotion, even with $1 Mil at your disposal, there is no way you're going to get exclusive deals this early on so I just make regular written agreements. This way everything is locked in for a set time and the payments don't fluctuate before contract negotiations, and if I let them go before the contract is up they gotta be paid which is just good for these digital workers.

When I do this, I usually make 2 templates at first: 1 Yr Wrestler and 3 Yr Worker. For wrestlers, especially just starting out your company, you don't know who is or isn't gonna work or be Your Guys, ya know? This way they get a year of work in (about 12 shows) and you can get a feel of who you wanna build around. For the 3 Yr, I keep that for Everyone Else. I think of it like superhero comics, ideally even if the writing team changes, there's some aesthetic connections and stability if you keep the pencilers/inkers/colorers the same. My commentary team, my refs, my on-screen personalities, my road agents, they are that aesthetic stability. And it means I don't have to worry about them on top of my wrestlers.

After spending the better part of 15-30 mins looking through the workers I can hire, here are notables: Shane McMahon (dunno what I'm gonna do with him, but it won't be in-ring work), Brian Zane (commentary, I watch this dude's YouTube videos!), and the Da Vinki guys (The Voros Twins! Guess I have to have a tag division for them). Usually what I'll do is grab who I can, about 10-20 wrestlers, 1-2 refs, 1 road agent, 2-3 commentary people, and then wait for the negotiations to come back. From there I can see who has tag partners I didn't hire yet, and see if I missed any other types of workers.

I still have other things to do while I wait. First, let's look at our Title situation.

A normal menu. I'm going to create our Primary title, the True Power Title, and our Secondary title, the Rising Star title. True Power will be our World Heavyweight, the top title everyone has dreams of. Rising Star will be the stepping-stone, our equivalent of a US or Intercontinental title. Might even have it so in-universe the champ of the Rising Star title can vacate their title to make a True Power title match, add a little Money In The Bank flavor.

You can actually purchase a retired title, which is kinda handy! As a backyard promotion, the True Power title only has a prestige of 30. There are some on the market with 45 prestige! But I'll hold off on that, we'll wait to at least have our first year of shows before doing that.

Now... we wait. I don't have any workers, negotiations don't happen the same day, so we gotta move forward. I click those double arrows on the upper left hand side and tell the game to advance a week, for next Monday. The game stops at Wednesday, and we have some updates! The Voros Twins and Brian Zane wanna join in on this, along with about 5 other workers. A ref who I didn't realize was retired rejected us, but this is why we put out so many feelers!

Since we have Zane as a commentator we'll set him for every Event moving forward. We haven't scheduled any yet since we don't have our full roster just yet, but that's okay! We're ready. Let's move forward in time a little more, still aiming for Monday of Week 2, June 2023.

Thursday of Week 1, June 2023 and we get basically everyone else signed on. We've got a ref, we've got a road agent, we've got it all! We don't need a minimum number of wrestlers as we're such a small promotion, but we do need enough to run shows using a Heel/Face split (good guy/bad guy split) and we need at least one of each of those other non-wrestling positions.

I push us forward once more to Monday of Week 2, and we get stopped again. On Friday we sign Shane McMahon. My idea with him is to have him be some type of personality, probably a CEO trying to destroy True Power Wrestling? I dunno, we haven't even done our first show yet.

All this, and we still haven't run a show. And we still won't! I'm tired and don't wanna play anymore today lmao. Next time we'll plan and run our first True Power Wrestling show!

People, Some of My Ideas for a Life Simulation Game

Yes I know this artwork of my is horrible, but it will do for this and I don't think they would look this bad in game. Note I don't actually have the skills to make this, these are just my thoughts, so please don't expect this to ever become a reality, these are just some ideas of mine, especially when it comes to getting around the issues with open world life Simulation games, especially like the Sims 3, and maybe Life By You and Paralives, while still having an open world.

First off, let's look at how open world could work in People. We will be focusing mostly on that.

Cities and Neighborhoods

In People, all worlds are called "Cities," and all "Cities" are separated into anything from one to nine neighborhoods. The neighborhoods would be completely open worlds, similar to the worlds in the Sims 3, but they would be extremely small compared to most sims 3 worlds. You would not encounter loading screens except when either traveling between neighborhoods, entering Create a Person, Lot Editor, Neighborhood Editor or City Editor. There are no loading screens between lots in the same neighborhood.

Cities and the City Editor

All games in People require one city and at least one neighborhood. There cannot be more than one city per game to prevent crashing and or the saved game files from becoming too large

All Cities can have a total of nine neighborhoods and forty small households, or twenty large households, or a mix of the two resulting in a number somewhere between twenty and forty, scattered across those nine neighborhoods.

Small Households can have a maximum of five characters, while large households can have up to ten characters. Characters in this case means people and their pets. This way, there will never be more than two hundred characters per city minus the NPCs. People in living in these households, along with some of the NPCs, will randomly visit community lots throughout the city, even ones that are not located in their home neighborhood.

Neighborhoods are placed in a city in a three by three grid. The game will procedurally generate terrain in-between neighborhoods as you place new ones. You can add or remove neighborhoods at anytime during your game, so long as there is a space for one in the grid. Keep in mind that removing a neighborhood removes all of the NPCs and households, including the people and their pets associated with that part of the city from your game completely. Doing this too often could break the game, so it would probably be a good idea to save before removing a neighborhood from your city.

You can place two different neighborhoods with two different themes on the grid, right next to each other. Keep in mind through that it might look a bit strange to have a neighborhood with a tropical theme right next to a neighborhood with a desert theme. You can see any neighborhood adjacent to the one that you're in if the camera is facing in its direction in "live mode."

In the City editor, you can not only edit the name of your city, but the name of your city's elementary school, high school, all the places of business, ( places where your people work ), even the different food delivery services, as well as the city's founder. You can also upload your cities and share them online.

Neighborhoods and the Neighborhood Editor

Neighborhoods are basically small open worlds. They can have a maximum of up to ten lots. I know that does not sound like much, and it is not, but a city can have up to nine neighborhoods at any given time, so that means up to 90 lots for your household to visit. The number of lots per neighborhood is really small to keep the game from getting too bloated, and to keep the loading times between neighborhoods short. Rabbit hole lots / buildings are not a thing in "People," so you don't have to worry about them. People access their schools and careers via traveling to a neighborhood exit via a car, a bus, a helicopter, or a train and than disappearing while at school or work until its time for them to return home. If its time for them to go to work or school when a member of your household is not in their home neighborhood, they can still go to their hidden destination via the same methods.

Lots in a neighborhood consist of community lots such as libraries, shopping centers, parks, gyms, skate board parks, and potentially a few more, especially if you have more than one expansion pack installed. There's another type of lot, and that's the residential lots. Residential lots consist of small homes, big homes, and apartments.

-Small Homes and Apartments are for small households

-Big Homes are for big households.

-Every small household ( up to 5 characters ) counts as 1 household

-Every big household ( up to 10 characters ) counts as 2 households.

-Remember you can only have a total of forty households per city.

I addition some lots come with an NPC worker, such as Libraries which have librarians, and gyms that have personal trainers. When placing one of these lots down, you can either let the simulation auto generate them, or create them yourself via Create A Person. Keep in mind that these people don't count towards the city's total number of households because they are not part of a household. They live somewhere outside of the map. They can however be made to quit their job and be added to your current household if you have enough room and a new person will be auto generated to take their place.

In addition Cities have NPC tourists which also live outside of town. They visit random community lots across all nine neighborhoods and tend to be just relaxing and having fun when you come across them. They also don't count towards the total number of households because they don't belong to one either, but like the NPC workers, you could befriend them and perhaps fall in love with and marry one of them. The simulation will generate more or less of them depending on how many households and how many people are in each household across your entire city. NPC workers along with NPC tourists should make sure that the community lots are rarely completely empty of people, except when they're closed.

In addition there is a third type of NPC in the base game. NPC criminals are bad news. Pickpockets might rob one of your people when they visit a park or a shopping center, and there is a slight chance that an arsonist will visit your house and throw a Molotov cocktail on to your front lawn. Accidents are not the only way that your home lot can catch fire.

Creating and editing neighborhoods

To create a new neighborhood, click on an empty spot on the city grid, and click, create new neighborhood. You can also click on a preexisting neighborhood and click edit or delete. When you first create a new neighborhood, you will have to name it, than you will get to pick from a list of neighborhood traits. These will either have a positive effect on the neighborhood and raise the cost of buying a house or living there, or lower the costs including buying a house, and sometimes certain objects, at the cost of a negative effect on your people's lives.

Negative neighborhood traits include things like high crime, low quality furniture, fire season, contaminated land, Earth Quake Zone, cursed, zombie apocalypse, alien invasion.. etc. etc.

Positive neighborhood traits include things like low crime, beautiful parks, excellent educational facilities, extra fun electronics.. etc. etc.

Note that you can only change the neighborhood traits while creating a brand new neighborhood as each effect how much it costs to buy a house there, not to mention the costs of some of the objects in the build / buy catalog in some cases. Neighborhood traits also effect how high your current household's bills and taxes are.

Other than the name and the neighborhood traits, you can edit your neighborhood, anyway you want and anytime you want, so long as you remain within the ten lot limit. You can even edit a neighborhood while you're playing with your legacy family in that neighborhood. Add hills and valleys, lakes and rivers, add and remove roads, railroads, and dirt paths, change anything about the neighborhood you want. Keep in mind that you cannot delete a lot while a member of your current house or any other person or animal is currently using it. You will have to kick them out first. That includes the community lots.

Whenever you feel like it you can upload your neighborhood and people can download it and add it to their cities.

Don't forget to decorate your neighborhood before you upload it with trees, flowers, rocks, and fake decorative buildings to make it look more densely populated than it actually is, especially if its supposed to be a downtown urban area. Decorative buildings include fake houses, including mansions, and fake skyscrapers and office buildings.

You can place either empty lots, or lots with pre-built buildings on them created by you, or someone else and it will give the person who created them credit on the official download page after you upload the neighborhood to the official People website

You can pre-populate your neighborhoods with households before uploading them if you would like, but you should probably include only three or four at max so that people won't have to worry too much about not being able to add it to their city because it would bring them over the forty household limit.

Remember that big households count as two households. Keep in mind that if you place a single person in a "Big Home" lot, it will count as a big household even through its only a single person. You can tell the difference between a Big Home and a Small Home lot via the map tag. Empty homes do not count towards the household limit. You could have an entire city with the ninety lot total and all ninety lots could be homes, no community lots whatsoever, but that would be pretty boring, wouldn't it?

Also, there will have to be at least one neighborhood exit, so players can travel to and from that neighborhood, not to mention travel to work or school via that neighborhood.

Starting a New Game

Starting a new game is easy. Pick a city, either an official pre existing one that came with the base game or an expansion pack, create your own, or download one someone else created. Pick one of the neighborhoods in that city or add a new one, either one you created or one someone else created. You can even add one of the neighborhoods from one of the official cities if you would like. Pay attention to the neighborhood traits as they will effect both the cost of moving into a house or apartment in that neighborhood as well as the gameplay difficult, so long as your household is living there. If the neighborhood has the fire season season trait, homes may be cheaper, but you will have to be prepared to fight fires more often and be on the lookout for pick pockets in high crime neighborhoods. Be doubly on the lookout for arsonist NPCs if the neighborhood you picked has both the high crime and fire season traits. A good positive neighborhood trait to look out for is something like extra fun electronics. This will increase both the fun and skill gain speed of any electronics in the neighborhood including ones in your home, but be aware that it increases costs of all TVs, radios, and computers in the build / buy catalog for lots in that neighborhood as well as the cost of any uninhabited home that includes them there.

Once you have made your decision, than you will either pick a pre existing household in that neighborhood or create a new one in Create a Person. I won't talk much about it here, but for "People," Create a Person is very similar to how Create A Sim works in "The Sims" games. You can create all types of humans and perhaps some human adjacent creatures like cat people or elves if certain expansion packs are installed. Create an Animal is this game's version of Create a Pet.

Final Thoughts

So what do you guys think? Would you play this game? What do you think of my ideas regarding cities and neighborhoods? Do you think this could solve some of the issues the Sims 3 and possibly other life simulation games might have with open worlds?

Yes neighborhoods are small, but you can have up to nine of them per city and if you don't like a particular neighborhood, you can always edit it, or just straight up delete it and replace it. That's also just the base game.

Maybe with some expansion packs installed, the game could add special neighborhoods that you would also have the option of creating, and increase the total number of lots and households you could have in your game? This is just the base game, but perhaps an expansion pack that allowed you to create say amusement parks could include an extra special neighborhood type that would be located on a separate map outside of your city, that you could travel to and back from? What a about a base on the moon with robots and space aliens? Imagine that as a tourist destination.

I might come back and discuss this more, maybe go over how the Lot Builder or how Create A Person or Create an Animal could work, if you would like. Maybe I could also talk more about the NPCs, if I do a part two. How about some ideas for the game's "Live Mode?" I pretty much didn't even touch on that did I? Could also be interesting to think about how aging and "story progression" could function across an entire city, especially when you can add and remove the neighborhoods at will.

You can open it with Notepad, by the way. But you can get around that easily enough.įor the original IL-2 Sturmovik, if you go to the first CD, you'll find "autoexec.inf." ANYTIME you have difficulty with a disk-based program doing what it's supposed to do, check that file first. Can anyone help? Installing the CD/DVD based IL-2 games is more of a challenge than it ought to be, because there's some OS-specific scripting in the installer routine. I don't remember having these issues in the past. I get the popup asking if I want to run the installation, click yes, and then nothing happens.

You see I own the original game, found the CD, and tried installing it just now, but nothing happens. I've had the urge to play this game again recently, and though I own IL2-46 I'm trying to install IL2 from the disc. I know I used to use Win2K for a while.) I own Pacific theatre (I forget the official name,) and the complete Il2-'46, and even have a folder of it on my backup drive with a few mods, but I've been wanting to play the original for some time now, and thought I never could, but thankfully I still have the CD! =D It may be that when I first bought the game I had WinXP (Almost certainly, though I don't remember when the different versions were released.

Hey there, thanks for taking the time to reach out 👍

I'm not able to recreate the problem on my end, so I'm wondering if you loaded an old save to play the new update. The variable for that sentence was newly added to the startup file and placed in the prologue alongside the other gender selection variables, so if you loaded a save that skipped ahead to a point after that choice was made for Garamond, it won't be set correctly and will default to male.

If that's not what happened, let me know which origin story you chose for your Wolfsbane and I'll go through the code again to do some more investigating.

On a related side note, I'd probably recommend playing through a fresh game anytime an update goes live. I know it can be tedious, but it's much less likely that you'll run into bugs and errors that way.

Landing back in Korea was both a pleasure and a pain. Pain mainly being the fact that your job was not done.

Standing up from the plane you put your trench coat on and grabbed your belongings.

Walking was no problem, the problem was waiting for your lovely driver, to arrive on time.

Checking your phone you saw that he was late, like always never on time. You let out a sign in annoyance. Holding in your patience.

Transfering Crystals gift bag from hand to hand any time your hand got sore from holding it.

After waiting for another thirty minutes you finally saw the same car you remembered from six months ago. “You know you can arrive on time, if this were a private jet and you were a regular henchmen I would’ve shoot you with my taser gun at max power.” You said facing the blonde man in annoyance. It didn’t help that he came out the car with his usual annoying smirk.

“Aw c’mon don’t be like that, at least I arrived. If it were me I’d just send your husband to come and get you.” He said teasing you while leaning on the side of the car waiting for you to finish loading your belongings on the trunk of the car.

You let out a sigh of annoyance, mainly due to him being late. Grabbing your bookbag you started smacking Goo, making sure he heard all of your curse words directed at him. You knew that one day you’d kill Goo. Either through by accident or on purpose. You’ll have to apologize to Charles in advance if you do.

After smacking him a few more times you set the bag in the trunk while marking sure you slammed the trunk of the car, to show him your obvious irritation and annoyance towards him.

You walked away from him entering the passenger seat, ignoring his whines and comment towards you to treat his car with more respect.

Entering your home was a satisfaction relief. Putting all the belongs you’ve been carrying in your hands down onto the floor.

You immediately threw yourself onto the couch taking in the peace and quiet. Seeing that your husband, yes husband, Gun wasn’t home. Already knowing he was probably guarding Crystal or guarding Charles. You also saw he wasn’t home either.

You chuckled at the thought of yours and Guns relationship. One look at him and people would think he was either single or didn’t want to marry, but those close to him knew otherwise.

You remembered like it was yesterday when you first met him. When you were hired to protect Crystal since Charles assigned Gun and Goo on another job.

Remembering how you sort of embarrassed yourself in front of them, but quickly recovered when you saw someone coming to attack crystal.

You sat there embarrassed with yourself, not only did you almost land on yourself, you almost brought down one of Charles elite workers. You muttered countless of apologizes.

You were dismissed quickly by him without him letting you by without a quick nagging by him, of course you sat through since he was a higher up.

That didn’t save your irritation for the blonde one next to him. You knew he was a higher rank than you but that didn’t stop you from wanting to not smack the hell out of him, hearing his jokes didn’t help you either. You looked at him with clear annoyance.

It was obvious to the both of them that you were irritated with the blonde haired man.

The blonde haired man was going to comment something but was cut off with you running off towards the direction of Crystal.

Both men followed you two. They made it on time just you to see push Crystal behind you and immediately disarm someone and push them onto the ground.

Everything was all calmed down, Crystal was in the protection of her parents arms, both checking to see if she was safe. And to only confirm she was safe, Gun saw his boss approach you and start harshly scolding you, in front of others. He saw you standing there, not defending yourself, taking all of his comments.

For some reason Gun couldn’t take anymore of what was currently happening to you. Gun approached the both of you and whispered something to his boss, letting him know it was his fault that you were distracted.

While this happened Crystal left her mother’s arms and walked towards to you, she grabbed onto your pants near your thighs and yanked them, grabbing your attention. You crouched down to her height and gave her your undivided attention. “Hi miss, thank you for saving me.” Crystal said hugging you.

You stood there for a moment unmoving before you gave into her hug and hugged her back. You felt glad that Crystal, at her age, was forgiving. Most six year olds would throw tantrums, but she didn’t.

Both men saw this and were glad that Crystal forgave you and still trusted you. Goo looked at Gun teasingly, seeing the stoctic man smiling at yours and Crystals interaction. Gun seeing his partners expression quickly changed it back to his regular stoctic expression before Gio could even say anything.

Sitting in the car looking out towards the window, holding onto the important files that currently lay in your hands. Holding them with dear life, these costed you away time from your hometown so of course you’d protect these with your life.

Already missing the person who cherished your heart. Once you’d arrive you knew that you’d hug them to no ending.

You made sure to dress appropriately for the occasion that you were entering.

You smiled subconsciously just thinking of seeing him again. You’d think six months away would give you freedom and relaxation, no.

It made you miss him more and more dearly. Already wanting to be wrapped in his arms. You smiled at the thought of seeing the one who you loved unconditionally.

The party looked extraordinarily, Charles seeing his daughter interact with all her friends with her second body. He made sure to hire double guards around the place, make sure everything was protected. He stood near both of his trusted guards.

Goo.

Gun.

And Guns son.

All four of them stood near the big table. Sitting down and observing. Goo off enjoying the served alcohol to the adults present. Turning to his left he saw Gun entertaining his four year old son. Keeping him busy. It was obvious to the others that the child sitting on Guns lap was deeply missing his mother.

Of course Gun did his best raising him while you were away but he knew deep down he missed you and wanted you by his side. On the days he needed to work he’d drop the little guy off to your mothers home, then pick him up when he’s done.

“Hey daddy.” Said the little boy grabbing his said fathers attention. Gun looked down towards the child looking at him waiting for what he has to say. “When is mommy coming hom?” He said looking at him waiting for his answer.

Gun let out a sigh, “she’ll be home soon.” Gun said quick and short. “You said that before and it’s been six months. I miss her.” The little boy started to tear up at the thought of you being away any time longer, he already couldn’t bear you being away anymore.

Gun couldn’t lie, he did miss you as well. Gun all he could do was rub his head. He felt guilty. He knew the job that his boss sent you required it to take this long seeing how dangerous it was.

Charles saw the both interact with each other. “Looking at you, who’d knew you’d end up getting married, much less having a child.” Said Charles chuckling at the scene in front of him.

Gun looked towards his boss and smirked back at him. “Well life has full of many different surprises.” Gun said looking back down at his son.

“Well I think you’ll like this next one.” Charles said looking towards your direction, indicating to Gun look that way too.

Both Gun and your son looked where he was looking at, before Gun could react your guys son jumped off from Guns lap and ran off in your direction.

“Mommy!”

You crouched down hugging your son, pampering him with many many kisses around his face. “Hi baby I missed you.” You said holding him up while hugging him tightly.

Before you could move you felt another pair of arms wrapped around you tightly. You knew it was Gun, hearing his voice whisper silently onl for you guys to hear.

Your here.

Your safe.

Your back home.

Whispering it to the both of you guys, relieved that your home and safe.

You broke from Gun’s embrace walking towards your boss while having your son, seeing as he isn’t going to let you go anytime soon.

“I see everything turned out fine!” Charles said pleased seeing you return and not some henchmen who worked for you return the files to him with sad news.

“Yeah I got everything you wanted, maybe even more. Hope these help you with what you need.” You said handing the file toward him. “Now if you need me I’m going to reunite with my family.” You said walking back to Gun while grabbing his hand while walking away.

You three arrived somewhere decently quiet.

You wrapped Gun’s arms around you leaning close to him however much you could. You let out a sigh you were holding in and relaxed into him seeing as he also pulled you into him seeking a sort of comfort in your presence.

“How was the job in America?” Gun said breaking the silence. Looking down at you and your guys son in your arms.

“It was fine, there were some people who did cause a bit a trouble when they didn’t agree with some of my plan of actions.” You said recalling the times where a few of your workers decided to trash talk you behind your back or insult you in your presence.

“Have you taken care of them?” Gun asked you while he subconsciously tighten his grip on you.

“Yeah, for the ones who liked to disobey I would email our boss on the ones who rebelled and buy them a next day ticket by lying to them saying Charles need them. And who knows what happened to them.” You said telling him what you did to the misbehaving crew members.

“I’m glad.” Gun said ending the conversation as soon as he started it.

The silence was soon once ended by your son lifting his head up and looking towards you. “Mommy did you know that daddy missed you a lot?” Jaehyuck said looking at his dad but quickly looking away.

You looked up teasingly towards Gun smirking towards him at your new found information. “Oh really what else did he say?” You said looking back down at your son ignoring Guns protests saying otherwise.

“He also said that he wants to cuddle you and kiss you whenever you came back. He also planned on making dinner for you when you came back.” Your son said looking towards his father while sticking his tongue out at him while hiding his facing back into your neck laughing while he saw his dad approaching the both of you guys.

You “defended” your son from Gun’s clutches, playing alongside with them. Making all smiles appear in each other’s faces. You truly were happy to be back.

You sat down after a while putting your son down seeing on how tired you were, catching your breath.

Gun noticed this and approached you in confusion. “Why are you suddenly so tired?” He said seeing your appearance all tired and restless.

You knew it was finally time to tell him after leaving six months ago without telling him Your kept hidden secret. All you did was grab his hand and place it on your stomach “well just ask her.” You said with smile while looking up towards him.

Gun was confused. He didn’t know how to comprehend this. “Your pregnant?” He said whispering the question. “Yeah I’m sorry I didn’t tell you. By the time I knew about it, it was my second day in America plus I had to abandon all communication with everyone I knew two protect them.”

You were shocked to see Gun on his knees hugging your waist, his face near your pregnant stomach. You felt little tear drops fall onto your dress. You didn’t say anything else just smiled and enjoy this moment.

“Mommy is daddy okay?” Your son asked seeing his dad current state. “Yes he is, he’s just happy that you’ll have a sister soon.”

You were happy, you finally told Gun your little secret that you kept from him, and it felt amazing. You were wrapped in your husbands arms. You three walked around talking amongst each other, enjoying each other’s presence.

At one point your son fell asleep in your arms which was a bad timing seeing as your arms started feeling numb.

It took awhile, and a few minutes of struggling but you both managed to get Jaehyuck in Guns arms. And you were in heaven when you finally got to rest your arms.

Your peacefullness ended when Goo thought it was funny to start teasing you both.

“I bet when you guys arrive home your going to just bang it out like rabbits for the night.” Goo said snickering at it. You were embarrassed by on how straight forward he was and by also the fact that your guys son was also in the presence but not awake to hear it.

Gun didn’t help when he smirked back to Goo. Knowing fully well he was joining in the teasing. “You guys are unbelievable.” You said embarrassed while walking away.

Your embarrassment grew even more when your boss also decided to join in the joke with both of the boy’s.

“C’mon Goo, you know better than anyone else that those two will continue til the next day.” He said sipping his margarita while laughing with the other two.

You were dying of embarrassment. And what was Gun doing? Standing there like nothing. Also making comments.

You had enough so you took your shoes off and threw it at Goo, it was successful when it smacked his face. It ended up with the other two laughing at him.

You were happy.

Happy to be home with your loving family.

Unlike the file room we saw earlier, there were all sorts of things kept in this file room.

After pulling open the file cabinet’s drawers, aside from the necessary paper file records on the Tiger’s Accomplice Ghosts’ personal information and criminal background, we could also see many kinds of physical evidence.

Some were murder weapons, some were bloodied clothes, and still others were electronic storage equipment.

Zuo Ran and I found the drawer that was pasted with Fu Qiao’s nametag, and found the ironclad evidence of Fu Qiao murdering Zhou Nan – a memory card that stored a video of the entire course of events of the crime.

Zhou Nan retreated, step bystep. Perhaps it was due to the effects of the alcohol she had drank earlier, but with one weak step, she toppled on the sofa.

On the sides, left and right, two burly bodyguards surrounded them. They used a handkerchief to block Zhou Nan’s mouth and nose.

Very quickly, Zhou Nan lost the ability to move and lay paralyzed on the sofa. She could only watch with her eyes wide open as Fu Qiao walked in front of her.

The syringe stabbed into the vein, and the ice-cold liquid replaced the scorching blood, taking away all of Zhou Nan’s life…

File Room

In the scene, Fu Qiao collapsed as if someone had removed his spine, and the video ended there.

MC: So, Fu Qiao did not kill Zhou Nan out of agitation.

The two of them had… a choice of “you die and I live”. Both had thought about having the other person die.

It was just that the ending result…

Zuo Ran: This is what Qing Zhian said – Chen Hanzhang would set a trap to look for new Ghosts.

Chen Hanzhang needed a middleman to help her with drug dealings. Regardless of what their extrinsic conditions were, the most core point was—

She needed blackmail leverage in her hands. If there was blackmail leverage, then she would create one.

So… Fu Qiao and Zhou Nan, and only one could continue to live…

One becomes a Ghost, and the other one becomes the blackmail to force submission on the Ghost.

For a moment, Zuo Ran and I lapsed into silence.

On the screen of the file room’s computer, this image started to play again due to automatic looping, just like Fu Qiao’s repeated nightmares every night.

Chen Hanzhang did not appear in the scene. Her voice was also a single track that could be removed anytime from the video file.

It was exactly this file that made Fu Qiao sink deeper and deeper into the mire of sin.

Zuo Ran: Save the video file. Make a copy and transmit it to the NXX encrypted database backup.

The sound of Zuo Ran’s phone vibrating suddenly came, making the unsuspecting me jump out of fright.

Zuo Ran: Hello, Leader Yan.

Zuo Ran: …

Zuo Ran: What?!

Zuo Ran: Okay, I got it.

MC: What’s the matter? What happened?

Zuo Ran’s face blanched, making me realize that something unforeseen had occurred.

Zuo Ran: The police just noticed that there is only Chen Hanzhang’s bodily replacement in her residence. Chen Hanzhang herself has vanished, and it has probably been a while since.

Zuo Ran: We should leave this place first, to avoid…

Zuo Ran: …

MC: …

A sound like an air-leaking tire came from above our heads. Immediately after, the file room’s door automatically closed.

White mist spread over very quickly, and the air in the entire file room became incredibly pungent.

Zuo Ran took out a handkerchief and blocked my mouth and nose, but this was already a useless act.

MC: (Zuo Ran…)

My sight gradually became blurry, but I could still see Zuo Ran’s tall, upright body in front of me, exerting himself to prop himself up, refusing to topple down.

I used the very last bits of strength in my body and pressed the NXX emergency help signal.

A few seconds later, I fell with Zuo Ran into the darkness.

Plotting (Chapter 15.5?)

Canon!

Crow opened his eyes to see a pair of boots. He rolled onto his back and rubbed his head.

“Hey, mate. You’ve got to move. You can’t sleep here.”

He looked up to see a man staring at him with a look of slight annoyance. Crow got to his feet and leaned on the cinder lock wall behind him.

“Sorry, I’m leaving,” Crow mumbled.

“Must’ve been a hell of a night,” the man said, “Need me to call you a cab?”

“Could... could I call my mate, actually?” Crow asked.

The man pulled out his cell phone and handed it to him. Crow dialed Deke’s number and looked around as it rang. They had dropped him off, unconscious from the drugs they had given him, in some alley.

“Hello?”

“Deke, hey,” Crow said.

“Crow?! Holy shit, where are you?” Deke practically yelled into the phone. Adrian and Ethan began talking in the background.

“I’m, uh- hey, where are we?” Crow asked the man.

“7th and Polar,” the man replied.

“7th and Polar,” Crow repeated into the phone.

“That’s uh... right, okay. We’re coming. Is Charlie with you?”

“No,” Crow mumbled.

“Okay. Shit, okay. We’re coming. Hang tight.”

Crow handed the phone back to the man after hanging up.

“Thanks,” he said.

“Don’t mention it. This is my restaurant right here, why don’t you come inside and have some tea while you wait? It’s about to rain,” the man said.

Crow followed him around to the front. He sat at a table near the window, watching as raindrops began to trickle down the glass. The man soon brought a cup of tea and set it in front of him.

“My name’s Beck, by the way,” he said.

“Crow,” he replied, extending his hand, “Nice place you’ve got here.”

“Thanks, it’s been in our family for years. It’s usually pretty busy, but as you can see, there’s not a lot of business at midnight on a Wednesday,” Beck laughed.

“Why stay open so late, then?” Crow asked.

“I get the occasional drunk crowd that orders enough to make it worth it,” Beck said.

Crow sipped on the tea. His head was pounding, but the hot liquid helped a bit. He noticed Beck was staring at the bandage on his arm, and rolled his sleeve down.

“I’ve got to finish cleaning the back,” Beck said, “but feel free to grab a newspaper from the rack to keep yourself occupied.”

After he was out of sight, Crow took him up on the offer and took a newspaper. He made it about halfway through the second page before he fell asleep with his head on the table.

“Hey, I think your mates are here,” Beck said.

Crow startled awake and looked out the window. The jeep was parked out front, and the three of them were piling out of it. He stood and walked outside to meet them.

“Crow,” Adrian said, walking up to him with a slight limp.

“Your leg,” Crow said.

“It’s fine. Are you okay?”

“I’m fine.”

Crow reached into Adrian’s shirt pocket and took his wallet. He pulled out a £10 note and turned back to hand it to Beck.

“Thank you for your help,” he said.

“Anytime. Be safe,” Beck said, smiling.

Crow climbed into the passenger seat. Deke was driving, and Adrian and Ethan were in the back.

“So, what the hell happened? How’d you get out? Where’s Charlie?” Deke asked.

“Long story short, Mallory took Charlie to his house, and I was brought there a few days later. He made this mind control drug, and he almost made me shoot myself. From what I understand, he didn’t intend the gun to actually be loaded. So, for some reason, he let me go. I don’t know if it was to somehow apologize, or what, but I wouldn’t have gone if I wasn’t under that damn drug.”

It was silent for a moment as the group considered what he said. Crow’s chest began to ache as he remembered Charlie’s reaction in that moment.

“That seems... unlike him,” Adrian spoke.

“I know, I don’t understand it,” Crow said.

“We’re going back for Charlie, right?” Ethan asked.

“Of course we are,” Crow replied, “Even though he begged me not to. Once we get home, I’m doing everything I can to figure out that bastard’s address.”

The rest of the drive was talk of miscellaneous details, intel, and ideas. Deke parked the Jeep in front of the house, and they soon went inside. Crow went straight to the shower. He was careful with the cut on his arm, and knew Ethan needed to look at it. He put on clean clothes and went out to the dining table, where the others were waiting. Without saying anything, Ethan went to retrieve his kit and started inspecting his arm.

“I was drugged during the trips to and from his house. I don’t remember how far it was from the compound. I do know that you only need a car to get there,” Crow said.

Ethan put some antibiotic cream on his arm before wrapping it in a new bandage. He didn’t seem too concerned about it, for which Crow was relieved.

“I’ll talk to command. They should be able to find us an address,” Adrian said.

“I hope so. Command doesn’t seem too interested in helping us with this,” Crow replied.

“It’s shite. It’s like they’re acting as if this is no big deal. I had a meeting with them yesterday, and they want this entire mission dropped,” Adrian said, voice slightly raised.

“They’re probably the ones investing in this, especially the Americans. I mean, think about it. What he’s creating would be invaluable to our militaries. Maybe they sent us out there to save face,” Deke said.

Crow stared at him for a moment before sighing. He couldn’t entertain the idea, as much sense as it made. Ethan handed him a couple of paracetamol tablets and a glass of water.

“We all need to get some rest,” Crow said, “we can discuss this more in the morning.”

He took the pills and drank the rest of the water. They said their goodnights and filed into their rooms, while Deke got comfortable on the couch. Crow crawled under his sheets. The relief his muscles felt from the plush bed was immense. He stared at the ceiling for a while, mind racing as he tried to come up with a plan. He ended up falling asleep eventually, but woke from every small noise.

Giffing Tutorial for Beginners

Hello fellow pals on Tumblr, I write this as I’ve been asked to do a giffing tutorial a few times before, thus, here I am making one for you guys. I would like to mention that I have been giffing this way since 2016, so I’m sure people have come up with better ways to do this, I’m merely showing how I go about things. I would also like to mention that everyone finds their own ways to gif, and one way is not right or wrong. This tutorial is targeted towards people who have never made a gif before or have struggled to in the past. I hope this is helpful!

Things you need before hand:

Photoshop CS5

KMPlayer

STEP ONE: CAPPING

I’m not going to go over how to download and/or find movies/tv shows in this tutorial, but as you can assume, you’re going to need a video you want to gif downloaded before you begin. I’d recommend searching for 1080p clips, or if unavailable 720p. The first step in creating a gif is to screen capture said video. To do this, I use an older version of KMPlayer, but any version should work just the same. I know many people find KMPlayer confusing or have found different programs to use now, but for me it has always worked fine.

Before you begin screen capturing, you need to make sure you have the right settings selected. If you capture the video incorrectly, it won’t matter what you do in Photoshop the gif will always appear low quality. For instances, most people prefer gifs that do not skip frames. To change your settings, use ctrl+G once KMPlayer is open. A box should open up, below is a screenshot of my settings. Make sure to change the “Extract to” folder to where ever you’d like to find the screen captures later on.

After you’ve fixed your settings, you’re going to right click and open up your movie/tv show. Tumblr’s gif limit is now 8MB so I usually cap around 150 frames or stop when the scene ends. Below is an example of me screen capturing.

Once you’ve finished screen capturing the scene, go to the folder you selected earlier and place all the captures in one folder. If you’re making a gifset, make sure to place the screen captures in new folders; one for every gif. So, if you’re making 7 gifs, you should have 7 folders.

STEP TWO: MAKING THE GIF

Once you’ve placed the screen captures into a folder, you’re done with KMPlayer and can now open Photoshop. On the top left hand corner, you’re going to go under the “File” tab and go down to Scripts > Load Multiple DICOM Files

Photoshop is then going to prompt you to select a folder. This is where you’re going to select the folder you moved your screen captures to. Once you select the folder, it should open up in a canvas and look like this.

Next you’re going to crop your gif. Look on the left hand side in your tool bar and search for the rectangular marquee tool (below is a picture of how the icon looks).

Next underneath the tool bar you’re going to see the tools option. Change the style to “Fixed Ratio.” Now, I will preference that I do this step a little weird but nonetheless, it’s how I’ve always done it. I go ahead and add 3 pixels to the dimensions I want my finished gif to end up with. So for example, the gif we’re making today, I want the finished result to be 268x200, which I added 3 pixels to and ended up with 271x203. You can now use the tool to drag over the canvas however you’d like to crop the gif. It should look like this.

Once you’ve decided where you’d like to crop the gif, you’re going to go under the “Image” tab on the top left hand corner. You’re going to the select “Crop.” You’re canvas should then look like mine does below.

After the gif is cropped you’re going to return to the “Image” tab that you were just previously under. The next step is to select “Image Size.” Photoshop is then going to prompt you to change the image’s size. This is where you enter the same sizes you used for your fixed ratio.

Now, in order to get rid of the 3 extra pixels I added onto the gif, you’re going to return once more to the “Image” tab and select “Canvas Size.” Now set the canvas to the dimensions you’d like the finished gif to be. Note: Canvas size does not resize, it merely deletes what you take away. (Again, this is something I have always done but I’m sure you could skip this step and make the image the size you originally wanted to begin with.)

Now we’re going to focus on sharpening and finishing up the gif. You’re going to look down towards the bottom of the screen to the animation bar. The first step is going to be creating frames from the layers.

Once you see the layers turned into frames, you’re going to look just below the icon you just used and select “Convert to Timeline Animation.”

Next you’re going to look to the bottom right hand side of the screen to the layers tab. You’re going to select every layer, right click, and then select “Convert to Smart Object.” Below is an example of me doing this.

This is where you’re going to sharpen your gif. Now if you wanted to use an action, this is where you’d apply said action. I personally do not like the look of using actions so I’m going to simple use smart sharpen. Below are my settings.

Once the gif is sharpened and looks how you’d like, you’re going to flattened the frames into layers. You do this almost the same way as you made the layers into frames!

Your layers panel should show all the layers again, with the smart object located at the bottom. Delete the smart object only before continuing.

Just as before you’re going to select this icon again to convert back to frame animation.

And again, just like before, select “Make Frames From Layers.” The layers should then appear as they did before we sharpened them. Next, we’re going to change the speed of the gif. First you’re going to “Select All Frames.”

Then, on any of the frames in the animation tab, you’re going to select the speed and change them all. I recommend using .04 through .06. I personally always use .05. Below is an example of me doing this. If you’re speed is too slow, the gif will appear choppy!

STEP THREE: COLORING + SAVING

This is the part where you would color your gif. I’m not going to get into that with this tutorial but just remember to place the adjustment layer on top of all your other layers so they show up on every frame.

Once you’ve finished coloring your gif, it’s time to save it! Go back under the “File” tab and select “Save for Web & Devices.”

Below are my settings for saving my gifs. Many different gif makers have different preferences with this step, so I would play around with it and figure out what you personally prefer. And remember, regardless of what anyone says, no way is right or wrong.

And there ya go! That’s the basics for making a gif. I hope this tutorial was clear enough for anyone reading and if you have any questions, feel free to message me anytime. It’s really a simple process and I’m certain making gifs is something anyone can do, so if you’re having trouble, keep trying!

Not A Shrine

Eyyy Ohh! First fic for Mr. Marcus Magnet Hands Moreno! I’m excited to jump into this universe because there are just so many ways to go! This fic is mainly banter between (Y/N) and Miracle Guy (Whom I’ve decided to name Murphy Jones). Hope You enjoy! Also this is probably my last fic for the next week as I will be out of state for my birthday!!

Summary:

You’re a huge fan of Marcus Moreno: leader of the Heroics, sword fighting, ass kicking extraordinaire. You got to see him once after he and Miracle Guy completed a tough mission, capturing your favorite moment between the two. But that was a long time ago when you were just an intern, now you’re part of the team that helps Heroics transition from the spotlight to civilian life. Miracle Guy happens to be on your list, and when your work partner points out your collection of Marcus photos and memorabilia to him, he’s dead set on embarrassing you just a little.

P.S. I think this might will get a part 2, because there’s just not enough Marcus tbh 💙

“Shannon, I bought coffee, lord knows we’re going to need it.” You set her coffee on the desk, sitting across from her. She squeals in delight, taking a big gulp. She’s not going to tell you she’s already had a red bull, because coffee is just so good. She claps her hands together and takes a deep breath, practically vibrating.

“WOO! Well I’m going over the roster of Heroics, and it looks like a lot of them are ready to start planning, but most are not ready to actually retire.” She hands you a print out of the current full time Heroics. You scan the list, which she has already split between you and her, when you see-

“Miracle Guy?” you sigh, squeezing your eyes shut.

“I knnnoooow. I tried already to bring up the planning phase and he’s not budging. I thought you could take a crack at it?” She begs.

“Fine. On one condition.”

“I already assigned Marcus to you.” She shrugs playfully. Marcus… assigned… to...you? Your mouth goes dry as you gape like a fish.

“(Y/N)... You can do this!” Shannon pounds the table. You’ve had a crush on him longer then Shannon has known you. And he’s been single for a long time, you’ve been single for a long time, you’re both amazing, you just need a nudge.

“The job ya, but… how am I supposed to focus if he’s so close.”

“You don’t have to be nervous, I promise to be nice.”

You turn to see the one and only Miracle Guy himself, one Murphy Jones. He’s got his signature smirk on his face, but otherwise he’s out of costume for once.

“Miracle Guy! What a surprise.” Shannon bubbles, shuffling some papers away.

“Shannon, lovely as always. Ms. (Y/L/N), I’m ready to talk retirement.” He gestures widely with his arms, as if he’s Jesus. You roll your eyes and lead him back to your office, gesturing for him to take a seat as you organize your desk.

“Ok so what exactly did you want to start talking about?” You turn to him, notebook at the ready.

“That I’m not ready to retire, and never will be.” He smiles like he just told you you won the lottery.

“Murphy, Wheels is ready to start taking over the family business. Which means you need to get ready to let go.” You laugh.

His smile falters a little. Being a Heroic, and in front of the camera, is what he’s always wanted to do. He’s done a lot of amazing work that he’s immensely proud of. And the people of the world love him, he can’t abandon his fans. Although it would be nice to have time to teach Wheels new things, and actually do stuff with his wife.

“This is what I know how to do.” He states, looking at the floor.

“Yes, but now we can move those skills into other areas. Take Marcus for example.” You ignore the eye roll from him, “He’s technically retired from the Heroics central team. But he still works here, using his skills to help the team in the field. Teach, train, and coach from a distance.”

“Well, hooray for him.”

“Murphy, You can’t physically fight monsters forever. Unless you want Wheels to have one parent. Why don’t we explore options. Marcus chose to observe from the main office, to use his highly trained mind to anticipate and analyze attacks. We could do the same for you.”

“I don’t do behind the scenes.” He growls. This face? Meant to be in front of a camera, meant to be saving the world crowds at a time.

You hold your hands up in mock surrender.

“Hear me out. Maybe we can have you as a spokesperson. You love doing all the ribbon cuttings, first pitches at baseball games, kissing babies and hugging old people. Work with the image side of the Heroics, the press. You’re a fan favorite! That’s not going to stop anytime soon, and an easy way to do the parts of the job you love, and to lower the chance of immediate death.”

You take a sip of your coffee as you watch him. He’s twiddling his thumbs, trying to nitpick your proposal apart. What he doesn’t know is you’ve been researching possible jobs for him ever since he stormed out of Shannon’s office a month ago. You had talked to the press team, the board and Ms. Granada; everyone thought it was brilliant.

“Hypothetically, if I agree to this plan, when does it start?”

“It’s just planning for a while. We have to go through everything with a fine tooth comb. There’s no shortcuts, once we establish a plan you are 100 % satisfied with, then the actual transition will start. But since the new generation are still very young, it’ll be a while.” You smile, trying not to look like you won the war.

It’s been about two months since Murphy agreed to your retirement plan. And he’s been in your office at least twice a week, which makes you think he’s just coming to annoy you. Both you and Shannon have a bigger case load than normal, most of the new generation is the same age, so quite a few of the current team are ready to let them take the reins. You’re in the middle of Shark Boy and Lava Girl’s files when Murphy knocks on the door. You open your mouth to tell him to come in but he’s already plopped into the chair across from you.

“Moreno said he’s doing all of his planning via email.” Murphy states, slightly annoyed.

“Well good afternoon to you too.” You raise your eyebrow at him.

“I never got that option.”

“Like you would give up the opportunity to harass me in person.” You laugh, turning back to your paperwork. He frowns at you as your reach to grab something from your bookshelf. He wouldn’t say harass… more like friendly banter. That’s what you two were by now right? Friends?

“Well you’re never going to get him to notice you if you don’t actually meet in person.” He smirks, that should get your full attention.

You read the same line about Shark Boy’s request to be able to swim at the aquarium three times before your brain processes what Murphy just said.

“What.” You blink, slowly looking up at him.

“You, Moreno, meet.” He claps his hands together, a cheshire grin spreading across his face.

“You talked to Shannon.” You grit your teeth.

“That, and when she mentioned your shrine...”

“It’s not a shrine.” You clench your jaw. You want to punch Miracle Guy in his miracle face, but it would only hurt you and make him laugh.

“You have a collection of photos, limited edition merch and even a few newspaper clippings about the guy. It’s a shrine.”

“Not a shrine!”

“Anyways, I noticed you didn’t have anything signed by him. So, get him in your office!” Murphy throws his hands in the air, exasperated. You mentioned Marcus constantly, and Murphy can’t stand the guy on a good day. But oh man when the shire was mentioned, that meant he could tease the heck out of you.

“I’m going to kill both of you.” You put your head in your hands, taking a deep breath. You can’t hurt him, it’ll only end badly for you.

“Well that’s a bit harsh. I thought I was an excellent retired Heroic.”

You can hear the smile, but it’s not Murphy talking. You peak from behind your fingers to see Marcus Moreno standing in your doorway. You shift your eyes to Murphy, his stupid smirk on his stupid face.

“Mr. Moreno, I didn’t realize you were coming by.” You smile, sitting up straight. You hope he can’t hear how fast your heart is beating.

“Since when do you call him mister? How come you don’t call me mister?” Murphy says, feigning outrage. He can see the steam shooting out of your ears. Perfect, his suspicions that you had a Class A crush were correct.

“Mr. Jones, our meeting is over.” You answer. He grumbles while he stands; as he passes Marcus you swear you hear him say, she’s a very big fan.

“Mr. Moreno-”

“Marcus, please.” He smiles, sitting in the chair Murphy just vacated. God, his smile… you could stare at him all day.

“Ok. Marcus, what can I help you with today?” You bring out his file, everything neatly organized and prepared. Unlike all the other files you’re working through, which have sticky notes and scraps of paper that you scrawled on sticking out from every angle.

“I just wanted to make sure everything was still going ok; since I was switched from Shannon’s roster to yours.” Not that he minded. Shannon is great, but something about the way you talk to him over email and the phone is... different. He always wants to keep talking to you, but he’s not sure how to jump from retirement talk to more personal stuff. And then Murphy showed him a super cute picture of you and he felt things he hasn’t felt in a long time.

“Oh, uh, ya everything is still on track. Shannon just had some… other cases that became more complex than we originally thought. Plus she’s making me deal with Miracle Guy, so my reward is you.” And you immediately regret the last part. Oh god, now he thinks you’re weird.

“I mean... your plan is pretty much done, so simple case.”

“Good. I guess it helps to get a head start.” He laughs.

“That it does. I’m also handling Missy’s transition into fill time Heroic, which is also very much on track. Father like daughter.”

He smiles, a far away look in his eyes. He's so proud of her. She’s strong, brave and every bit just like her mother, and him. He’s glad you're helping her, you’ve already helped him so much.

“I’m glad to hear that. Well, I don’t have anything new to add, so...” He stands from his seat, as do you. He wishes he would have stayed seated, asked you about your day or if you wanted to take a walk with him.

“Uh ya, I’ll let you know if there’s any changes or if I have questions...” You look just past his arm to see both Murphy and Shannon waving their arms like idiots. Shannon is gesturing writing on a piece of paper, and then pointing at Marcus. Murphy is mouthing ‘ask for his number’ while folding his hand into a telephone shape and holding it to his ear.

“Is there something on my arm?” Marcus looks down, moving his gaze to try and look behind. You quickly grab his bicep, which is very firm, and you both freeze.

“No, just looked like there was a hair, but I don’t think it’s there anymore.” You stammer. He gives you a look, and you realize your hand is still touching him; you quickly let go and gesture to the door. When his back is turned you swat your hand at your friends, telling them to go away.

“I’ll tell Missy you said hello?” He smiles at you.

“Ya, that would be great.” You smile back. He waves and walks down the hall to the elevator. You let out a long breath, going back into your office and collapsing into your chair. “Did you have him sign anything?!” Shannon squeals as Murphy asks “Did you ask for his number?”

“You two need to stop.” You mumble, rubbing your eyes.

“You literally had him in the palm of your hand.” Murphy snickers as Shannon nods furiously.

“Look, I’m his retirement planner. And he’s probably not looking to date anyone. I’m here to do my job, as a retirement planner.” You shake your head at them both.

They share a look and Shannon goes back to her office. Murphy stays seated, watching you put your belongings in your purse. He was so sure you two would get talking, you drool over Marcus all the time and Marcus actually mentions you a lot. You tend to be the center of conversation between them, which oddly enough has reduced the friction.

You stand, opening the door and gesturing from him to get out. He gets up, silently walking with you until you get to your car.

“I think you two would be good together.” Murphy says to the floor.

Two Weeks Later

“Alright. Shark Boy and Lava Girl are about a quarter of the way through their plan. Which is major progress. You said Blinding Fast is still slow going, ha, but that-”

“OOHHH MY GOOODD” Shannon squeals.

“What?” You ask, your blood pressure skyrocketing.

“I am SO PROUD of yooouuu! You finally asked him!” She squeals, clapping her hands together.

“Asked who what?” You scream back. She gives you a look, gesturing to your wall of Marcus behind you.

“See I told you it would be fine! He probably thinks you’re a bit fangirl-ish, but that’s fine, you are working with him now...” She continues to ramble as you turn around. You scan the wall, your eyes landing on your favorite photo of Marcus and Murphy. It now has the two very recognizable signatures.

“So congrats” she claps again.

“Oo, what are we congratulating (Y/N) on.” Murphy walks in, throwing a smirk at you.

“She finally asked Marcus to sign her favorite picture!” Shannon claps again, her glee very overwhelming at this point.

“I didn’t.” You look between her and Murphy. Shannon frowns, now just as confused as you.

“I did.” Murphy shrugs. Your jaw drops to the floor, you look over at Shannon to see her face mirrors yours.

“I didn’t hear about any fights amongst the Heroics.” You sass. Murphy mocks you in response.

“Well, I guess I should congratulate you then.” Shannon laughs.

“You should.” He winks at Shannon before turning to you, “ I don’t remember that picture being taken. It’s after the spiro monster attack according to our suits.”

“OMG! You never told him the backstory that you repeat all the time?” Shannon howls. You roll your eyes, glancing back at the picture.

“It was my first day as an intern here. I was an intern for the director’s assistant so after the spiro monster mission I was allowed to be in the debrief. You two had taken the mission together, fighting back to back; it was incredible. But you two had sat on the platform while the director was saying what a fine job you two did. I thought to myself fine? They did a kick ass job! Except I said it out loud instead of in my head.”

“I remember that actually.” Murray laughs.

“The whole day was amazing, filled with moments like that. Back when the team acted like a team.” You smile at the signatures that now decorate the picture, reminding you that friends always have your back.

“How did you even get it out of my office?” You frown, spinning to look at your friends. Shannon immediately drops her gaze, mashing her lips together.

“I had no part, and the piles of paperwork are calling me.” She bows out of the room, leaving you and Murphy alone.

“It did leave its place in the shrine briefly… but I wasn’t sure you would want the original print signed on the front.”

“That’s why Wheels asked for the digital file.” You laugh, he said he needed it for a project the kids were putting together.

“Yes. So That is technically one of three prints.” He takes a folder out of his bag, opening it to reveal a second copy. “I was hoping the artist would sign this one.” He smiles. You grab a marker from your desk, and take the print. You hesitate, you’ve signed plenty of your own art, but Murphy went through the trouble of printing these, just so you could have a signed one. You smile and sign it in a flourish.

“Will it hang in your house now?” You smirk.

“Actually, ya. And if Marcus is a smart man, it’ll hang in his too.”

“What?”

“I got three printed you dork, one for you, one for me and one for-”

“Marcus.” You smile and shake your head.

Paperwork, it just never ends. You’re up to your eyeballs in it, and you’re not sure when, if, you’ll ever get out. You’re ready to shove all of it into the trash and set it on fire when a gentle knock pulls you out of the stress spiral.

“Hi.” Marcus gives you that super adorable smile.

“Hi.” You smile back.

“I was wondering if I could entice you to dinner.” He nods behind him. Your brain comes to a halt, did he just? He frowns a little when you don’t answer right away, making you realize the screaming yes over and over is only in your head.

“Yes, that would be great.” You laugh, his smile returning. You gently scoop everything back into the folders, and let him guide you to his car.

“Welcome to… I would say the best restaurant around but that’s not true.” He laughs as you pull into his driveway.

“Missy?”

“Is at camp for the week.” He slides out of the drivers side and runs to open your door.

“So what brought this on?” You ask as you reach to take your stuff from him. He waves you off, gesturing for you to walk up the pathway.

“Just decided to branch out my circle of friends, retirement leaves a lot of free time.” He unlocks the door, shuffling you inside. It’s been cleaned, like deep cleaned. There’s not one hint that a tween girl lives here.

“I can see you’ve already utilized the time, pre retirement.”

He shrugs in response, setting your things down and walking into the kitchen.

“Before you get to watch the master chef cook, I wanted to ask you something.” He leans on the counter across from where you sit. You nod for him to continue. “Will you tell me the story of this picture?” He brings out a folder identical to Murphy’s, opening it to reveal the picture.

“Of course.”

“And will you sign it for me?” He holds out a marker to you. You take it and quickly sign the photo. He smiles and leans it against the fruit bowl, the two of you looking at it as you recount the story that goes with it.

And of course you don’t notice, but he’s looking at you, not the picture. If it weren’t for Murphy, out of all people, he wouldn’t have given a thought about anything romantic with you. Granted he’s not sure how ready he is for something romantic. But Missy is gone for a whole week, plenty of time to figure out if his stomach fluttering every time you look his way or say his name is something that is more than a day dream.
