eddie munson x plus size!fem!reader, 18+
a little drabble loosely based on this text post cause I was having a feeling-bad-about-my-body day and I know eddie would be having absolutely none of that ♡
---
Thick, ringed fingers holding you, pressing into where your tummy dips and fold and rolls. Your legs are spread wide, Eddie's thighs holding yours open, leaving you exposed, bared completely to the mirror in front of you. It's hard to look at first, your head turning into the soft curls at his neck, hiding from your reflection.
"Uh-uh. Look, baby. Look'it how she opens up for me."
It took a long time, learning how not to hate yourself. Learning that everything you hated about you was the opinion of someone who didn't love you, didn't care. It took a long time to look in the mirror and be okay, to accept. Not always celebrating, or loving, but sometimes admiring, appreciating. Understanding that your body didn't hold the entirety of your worth.
And Eddie did enough loving for the both of you anyway.
For a while you stayed away from skinny boys like him, afraid they'd do more damage to all that hard work. But Eddie... there was something different about him. You knew it right away. He wasn't ashamed to be seen with you, wasn't asking you to stay the night only to pretend like he didn't know who you were in front of his friends. He worshipped you, fully worshipped you properly. That can't keep his hands off you, needs you by his side 24/7, thinks you've hung the moon kind of worship.
It was intense at first. You thought he'd get tired of you, move on in a week or two have his fun until something better came along. But it's been months, years of him loving you like no one else has before and, no matter your own reservations about your body, you believe him when he tells you, when he shows you just how much.
His thick fingers delve into your core, a reward for finally looking back at your reflection. The sopping wet center of you wets his winding fingers, the sound obscene as he makes tight circles around your clit.
"The prettiest pussy I've ever seen."
You want to tease, to ask just how many he's seen to make that claim, but you can't form words with the way he's jackhammering his thick fingers in and out of your cunt.
"That's it, princess. Making such a mess for me."
Eddie presses kisses to your temple, down your soft jawline. You stare with rapt attention, jaw practically hanging to the floor and eyes glazed, hazy but laser focused on the ring of your creamy juices around Eddie's knuckles.
His fingers curl into the roof of your cunt, pushing, searching for your release like he needs it more than you do. He's begging in your ear for you to give it to him.
"Show me, princess. Shhhh, I got you," his other hand moves to your clit to work the aching nub when you whine, tears gathering at the corners of your eyes. "Give it to me. Want you to see yourself cum. You're so pretty when you cum on my cock."
Your thighs tense and shake at the mention of his cock and you're bombarded with images of him bending you over in front of this mirror, his fat cock stuffed in your cunt to the base and before you can catch your breath you're screaming, clenching down on his fingers and wailing like a cat in heat. Your eyes never leave your sweaty, heaving body in the mirror. Full breats shuddering, shaking as you gasp for air. Your tummy clenching against Eddie's arm pressed to your middle, holding you tight.
"That's it. Fuck, that's it, baby."
Eddie drags his fingers from your pussy, pulsing and grasping for his fingers, begging them not to leave.
He catches your gaze in the mirror, watching you watching him with his fingers in his mouth, sucking them clean.
"Did so good for me, princess. So good, so beautiful."

going to be terrifyingly sincere about greg for a moment here sorry but the dynamics between greg, logan & ewan are so fascinating to me and even if they can’t explicitly explore it anymore due to obvious reasons, this one short sequence from the funeral is soo catered to me specifically. even in death, logan overshadows ewan in greg’s eyes. and yet greg didn’t need to tell ewan that he gave a good speech. he could’ve given him the cold shoulder after he cost him his deal with roman. but he doesn’t. and either greg is in too deep that he doesn’t realize what ewan said about logan closing men’s hearts and feeding the dark, hard, mean, hard-relenting flame in them (that melts their wax wings in the end) was most likely pointedly directed at him (thus proving his point)—or maybe greg did a little bit. he still goes to mencken at the wake but he still tells his grandpa he did a good job. it was a good hard take that he gave.
i think of this a lot but something that truly sets him apart from everyone else is that HE’S at the intersection of the brothers’ decade old feud over family, betrayal, ambition, integrity, and greed—central themes of the show but also, crucially, to his arc over the last few seasons. he has that dual connection to the past that the others don’t. a past that has stayed nebulous for so long until ewan’s eulogy. in previous seasons, we’ve gotten some really interesting scenes with him in which ewan sees the danger of power and ambition for greg because he’s seen it in logan, but it would have been so interesting to explore it more between greg and logan too (like in 2x08 when greg tells logan ewan is cutting him out of the will. i like you greg). i do think that ewan’s point about logan and masculinity and meagerness in his eulogy is particularly relevant though. maybe ewan was saying “men” in the way old history books use “man” as the default, but the performance of masculinity at ATN is one best embodied by tom, which trickles down to greg, but is evidently shown in roman too. and he fed a certain kind of meagerness in men. perhaps he had to. because he had a meagerness about him. (and maybe i do about me too. i don’t know. i try. i try.) i selfishly wish greg and logan could have had more than just one scene together this season (even though logan attempting to emasculate greg by pointing out his lack of a traditionally masculine father figure as a final interaction is very funny). i don’t think my threshold for second-hand embarrassment could have survived an on-camera take of greg trying to explain the whole rummaging situation from ep.1 to logan but logan being oddly chill about it is. interesting???????? what greg wants, greg must have.
but before s4 at least, logan’s awareness of greg’s connection to ewan, his estranged brother, has informed their interactions and it’s always fascinated me because logan doesn’t quite treat greg like his own kid but he’s still a kid that he’s trying to win over by being “uncle fun” rather than “grandpa grumps.” logan last saw his mother at age 4 and greg has been on his own for some time now too. marianne made her first appearance since the PILOT in the before last episode of the fourth season. i’ve found his interactions with ewan reaaally interesting because the brothers didn’t come from wealth and, when compared to the siblings, greg didn’t either. the hirsch’s financial situation is never fully delved into but i’ve always found it a bit peculiar given greg’s inheritance is like. 250 mil he’s sleeping in a youth hostel and a chapel in s1 and tells his mom while on his flip phone that shiv took his last $20. at the beginning of s3 he’s helping his mom get a new credit card because she maxed out the last one. i feel like ewan did the celebrity parents thing where they don’t spoil their kids so they learn real world skills or something, which iirc is something logan regrets not doing. yet ewan also seems to regret his use of his wealth, which he voices in his eulogy when he states maybe he has a meagerness about himself too, but he tries, and is disappointed in men who do not try harder (and the camera pans to the siblings. ouch.) i sometimes wonder if ewan hadn’t withheld his wealth, would his daughter and grandson have become so desperate that they turned to his brother? or would they have turned out like the siblings too if they had enjoyed wealth since birth? are the throes of capitalism inevitable? marianne is the sibs’ first cousin but they never really acknowledge that. if anyone has thoughts on her absence and/or exclusion from the family tree, i’d love to hear them.
anyways. i could 100% be overanalyzing this but i do love how much information succession packs into each of their shots. greg will forever be seeking approval from both sides of a broken brotherhood and will never receive it from either. you beautiful ichabod crane fuck you. what greg wants, greg must have. i don’t want to see you hurt. one big happy family. “greg?” he’s an addendum of miscellaneous matters in pencil with a question mark.

Whenever I go to new regions, I always make sure to talk to the locals and get a read on the area. Indeed, bookstores sell all sorts of guides for new locales and exotic locations, but you will never get anything more reliable and informative than the word of those who live there. It is especially important to me, because my interests don't exactly fit in with the recommended restaurants or must-get souvenirs. I want animals, I want plants and I want weird locations and little known habitats for me to do my research. Most people don't care about that stuff, sometimes even the locals, but often they know enough about the lay of the land to point me in the right direction. It also helps because they can give me a heads up about any dangers I may encounter, be it aggressive animals or local laws that I am not fully aware of.
Like there was one time I was out studying Bladed Prowlers when some kind folk informed me of a nearby fellow who really didn't like people walking into his territory. They said he fancied himself a warlord and staked out a big chunk of land that he declared his kingdom. All who dare tread upon his rightful land would answer to him. So obviously they advised me to avoid this region, lest I get scooped up by his men and punished for my intrusion. This was awfully kind of them, as it let me know to be cautious where I studied and to be mindful of my surroundings! I trespassed on his land anyways, because that is where the Prowlers were nested, but I now I knew the importance of not being caught! It did work out in the end, as his troops never got a hold of me, but he did learn of my presence so I did kind of have the rest of my trip haunted by his search parties.
But as I was saying! Local information and knowledge is crucial for my work, and it helps me avoid real dangerous scenarios. I always ask about their legends and rumors, to see if there are any places one would consider "haunted" or "cursed." Now everyone knows I am not a real superstitious dryad, and I often hesitate to take fantastical tales of monsters and horror at face value. No doubt many of these stories have logical answers and real culprits, but that isn't to say they are all useless. By hearing these legends and learning how the stars of these tales perish horribly, I can get an idea of what is really out there. And sometimes what I learn is enough for me to steer clear of these places too! For example, when I am in arid rocky places, with plenty of canyons, crevices and caves, I keep an ear open for any stories of people who delve into these stony depths and never return. That or blackened figures are found burnt into the walls and floors, as if they turned to ash. While some claim ghosts and spirits are responsible for disappearances, I think more of Flayers and other such predators. But when I hear about scorched outlines in rock, I know what is responsible and I make sure to stay far away! A story like that means a Sulfrik is lurking in the darkness, and no living being should ever wish to cross paths with one!
The origins and nature of the Sulfrik can be summed up with two points. One, is that they are a True Dragon, not some regular beast given a fancy name. And the second point, to really drive that home, is that they are related to the Fuldruk, that terror of the volcanic deserts. If you have read my entry on them, then you should know exactly why I avoid Sulfriks! The two share many similarities with each other, like the serpentine bodies, reduced limbs, clawed tails and bulbous heads with slender jaws. The Sulfrik does have some key differences though. Their bodies are not so spiky and blue, instead with hardened bumps along their armor and a vibrant green to their form. Their tail pincer is more rounded and wide, with long hollow spikes that can easily drive into flesh when they grab hold. Their heads have less sharp bits and a more exposed cranium, one filled with a special fluid. Instead of hunting with electrical pulses like the Fuldruk, they use echolocation to navigate their surroundings. They send out clicks and whistles, then absorb the bouncing sound with that gelatinous dome. Their long snouts have noticeably less teeth than their cousins, and instead have large fangs that curve upwards and wrap around the jaws. Some would think that this would make it hard to open their mouths, and they are right! A full grown Sulfrik will have its jaws almost locked shut by their woven teeth, but it hardly causes them any issue. They don't need to open their mouths that wide to eat, as they prefer a squishier, more liquid diet.
The mention of it drinking its meals may cause some to breath a sigh of relief, as that must mean flesh is off the menu. May I remind you that many spiders have a liquid diet, and that is because their turn their prey's internal organs into soup. Just because you are currently not in a drinkable state, doesn't mean you can't be painfully processed into a gory slurry. The Sulfrik does exactly that for its prey, and my bark shivers to think what it must be like to fall victim to one. These dragons live in caves and deep crevices, hiding within darkness when the sun is out and hot. In shadowy canyons, they may still stir and slither during the day, but they seem to be in a more lax and sluggish state then. When night falls, however, they wake to their true potential and go out on the hunt.
They emerge from their lairs and burrows, and stalk the darkness for food. What they eat seems to be everything, as they don't hesitate to drop whatever they encounter. They silently slither through the blackness, keeping out of sight and using the cloak of night to their advantage. Sleeping prey is mostly targeted, but they will also go after those who aren't fully aware of their surroundings. When they strike, it isn't physically, rather they unleash their horrid breath weapon upon their victims. Stored within their bodies is a potent acid, one that is incredibly caustic and flammable. With their snouts forever sealed by their teeth, they have the perfect tube for spraying out this fluid, and that is what they do. It comes out in a pressurized spray, hosing down victims directly, or easing up the pressure to let out more of a caustic fog. With a scrape of their wrapped teeth, they can create a spark that ignites this acid and unleash something that can only be described as "acid flame." In this state, the burning fluid eats through armor and flesh in seconds, and prey are reduced to blackened puddles of goo. These are then eagerly slurped up by the Sulfrik's straw-like mouth, and then it slinks off for more food.
When they are hunting, Sulfriks appear to be ravenous, happily consuming anything they encounter. Perhaps because their prey is already pre liquefied and cooked it means that the digestion process happens quite quickly. They will melt anything they can, and take time to reestablish any territory markings they have put out, spraying their acid on notable rocks and walls to show that this land is theirs. Due to their size and appetite, only a single Sulfrik can live within a territory that is dozens of square miles. This is a good thing, because I can't imagine dealing with more than one! A single Sulfrik is usually enough to terrify an entire village into fleeing and I don't blame them!
Like many True Dragons, there is an intelligence to them. Unfortunately like their cousins, they don't seem to use it for meaningful conversation or curious discovery. Rather, they seek to entertain themselves and find ways to liven up their day (or night in this case). On the nicer side of things, they appear to have an artistic streak to them, using their acid to burn intricate patterns into stone. Or perhaps melt pieces of the landscape then mold their molten forms into something fun. The lair of a Sulfrik has many such art pieces, and it is clear they like to decorate their homes. I wish this is how they spent their time entirely, but unfortunately they do also find fun in playing with their food. If one isn't starving, they may take time to torment their prey, creating walls of acid flame or chasing them around tight canyons to extend the hunt and make their victim's struggle that much more entertaining. Their tail claws can be used to grab victims and sling them about like a doll, or inject acid directly into them so they can watch them flail and melt from within. Prey can also be used in their art, searing them into blackened patterns onto stone, or attempting to sculpt their molten bones and armor into a fun little art installation. I have heard many artists say that suffering, pain and little body fluids can make for interesting art pieces, but I sure hope this doesn't count. It seems a bit morbid, though I have heard wealthy collectors paying top coin for some collected Sulfrik sculptures. I wonder what they do about the smell....
It should seem obvious at this point that most people view Sulfriks as a scourge, a monstrous menace that will happily melt down herds of livestock and leave villages in ruin. While I feel it is a tad melodramatic when people claim this for every dragon, I do understand their terror when faced with these fellows. When Sulfriks come across towns, they tend to get a mischievous side to them and find people to be amusing play things. They may light buildings aflame, ambush people at night or cause random death and destruction before slinking off into their labyrinthine homes. It is like the species is well aware that folks have a real hard time slaying them, so that means they can get away with a whole lot.
The narrow crevices and maze-like canyons let them hide and lose their pursuers with ease, and their acid flame eats through all non-magic armors. Their hide is heavily armored with plates, and their serpentine bodies are fast and lethal. Their claw tails snare hunters and smash them against the stone walls, while their flame devours the entire battlefield, reducing everyone to screaming bubbling soup. The only real hope is rupturing their fluid filled craniums, which will destroy their ability to properly echolocate. This means they are blind, which is good for getting in a sneak attack, but it also means they will flail and fire with wild abandon. With all this in mind, Sulfrik bounties tend to fetch an exorbitant prize, but they are very rarely claimed. There are few in this world that will happily hunt one of these things. In most cases, people find the lair of the Sulfrik and then seal it up during the day when they are slumbering within. The hope is that it dooms the creature, leaving them to starve in this stony prison. Often, though it seems they find their way out through tunnels or and other cracks, resulting in their territory changing as they pop out in some new area. That will mean the menace is gone for our poor besieged town, but unfortunately that often means it is now someone else's problem.

"Sulfrik"
We got another dragon here, and one related to the Fuldruk! Couldn't let that concept just end at one! Especially with there being more weird cetacean skulls to base them on!

Here we find extremely curious natives with a desire and ease to obtain different types of knowledge. They stand out for their intelligence and enthusiasm when it comes to diving into topics that they are passionate about or like very much. They have an incomparable sense of humor that arises from their social charisma, they are very witty and are capable of lighting up the humor of a site. It is very important for them to project themselves as a capable and intelligent person and they do not like to be fooled. Their pride and self-esteem often lies in the level of intelligence they have or want to have. Something for which they are not usually given the credit they deserve is their unmatched creativity, bordering on genius, they can be people who have that facility to do things that others do something unique by putting their own touch on it. Many of them have a talent for languages, becoming bilingual or speaking more than two languages, this of course depends on many factors, but here is the potential. There is also a potential for esoteric abilities, they are people for whom their beliefs are important and can be very devoted to them, they can develop intuition and other abilities that help them delve into esotericism.
In them there is a desire to be able to enjoy life, either because they feel that they have not been able to fully enjoy it or simply to satisfy that curiosity. They are very interesting people, because they are the classic person who relates to others in an incredible way (perhaps not being very emotionally expressive, but being kind and friendly) easily captivating with their appeal and charm, however, they are also very important for them to have that time to themselves. Introspection is very important to them, as well as getting to know each other from head to toe. Many of them find it difficult to bring out this stereotypical adventurous and incredibly sociable side that is assigned to natives with this placement, but it is a matter of feeling that they are with the people and in the right place. Something that is very faithful to them and I already mentioned a little is their fascination for travel. They love the idea of seeing different places and exploring other things beyond what they are used to seeing. Your mind needs to be constantly stimulated, besides it seems to be a place that you will never finish visiting, and a place that keeps random data in every corner that you don't expect.
These natives are quite observant, becoming very capable of learning important lessons through contemplating the mistakes of others, they do not judge, rather they take what they see and learn. They possess a wisdom that makes them perfect candidates to be the counselors of their friends and acquaintances, who may see them as superior in some way. It is not surprising that they can mentor and guide others (the sign and the degree can give us more clues as to what they can guide others, along with conjunctions or other tight aspects). This placement shows that the natives can be very successful if they decide to complete their higher education, having enough prestige or at least a great reputation. It is likely that some teacher, tutor or guide has greatly impacted and influenced them. Another of the sectors in which they can be very lucky is travel, where fortune, good experiences and happiness augur them. The theme of the father can be quite varied, the native may have a foreign father who was born in another country than the native's place of origin. Other chances are that this is an academic, intelligent man or who works in the education or law sector. Or a father who does not usually see much physically.

Pedro Pascal: Life before and after Game of Thrones.
Until recently, people were still erroneously addressing Pedro Pascal as Pascal Pedro. But he didn’t mind. Years of struggle in New York’s theatre scene had taught him to take things in stride. Pascal had studied drama in NYU, with his appearances on television after that limited to bit parts in Buffy the Vampire Slayer and a few cop dramas. It took Game of Thrones, playing the part of Oberyn Martell, to make Pascal a household name – at the age of 37, no less.
Since that breakout role, Pascal has been busy. Among other works, he starred opposite Denzel Washington in The Equalizer 2, played a leading role in the Netflix biographical crime series Narcos, and acted as Agent Whiskey in Kingsman: The Golden Circle. There’s more to come, beginning with the titular character in The Mandalorian, which airs on Disney’s new streaming service Disney+ this November. In June next year, Pascal is slated to appear in the next Wonder Woman movie as the villain Maxwell Lord. Clearly, the man’s career has just properly started.
When did you first fall in love with acting?
At a very young age. My father used to take us to the movies three times a week. He’d come home from work and ask if we wanted to go see something, and we would, of course, want to go. I saw First Blood, The Big Chill, and so many other films. There was one summer when my mother would drop me off at the movie theatre as though it was daycare – times were different back then.
I’d watch a few screenings of movies like Poltergeist in one afternoon before she picked me up at six. This exposure to films led to a hobby in acting that my parents were happy I had – at least I wasn’t sitting around watching cable TV all day. It occupied so much of my time and eventually turned into serious training.
Why did you make the shift?
I had to take things more seriously if I wanted to stick with it. It wasn’t just being in love with the idea of appearing in movies and on stage any more – I needed to learn to analyse a story, delve deeper into the various aspects of acting, and learn the technical side of things. What came next was getting jobs to pay the bills. Surviving as an actor, basically.
You took some time to find mainstream success. Did you ever consider quitting?
The confidence definitely fluctuates. I didn’t develop other skills, so my familiar routine was to attend auditions for jobs. One would be enough to pay for rent and food for a while, or I had to wait tables to pay for my expenses. It felt completely desperate because I was really in love with the art of acting and the idea of being a working actor.
But I always got enough work to keep going. I don’t think I would have if I couldn’t get a job in three years or something like that, but such a thing never happened. I would get a role in a tiny little play outside of Boston, or a beer commercial, or an episode of a cop show in the city.
Do you appreciate your popularity more since it came later? How do you think this has influenced the way you approach your status as a celebrity now?
I was definitely more self-assured because my habits and routines were firmly in place and felt more important to me than my newfound success. I know it’s hard for me to describe this, but I just don’t feel famous. That wasn’t part of my development when I was younger, so I came into it “fully cooked”, or maybe even overdone. (laughs) As exciting and as strange as fame can be, it just doesn’t feel as real to me as my relationships, or the fact that my backaches, or how I panic in the morning if I don’t know exactly where I can get my coffee. Those things have much higher stakes to me than the public’s perception of who I am.
Can you identify a reason for your success? Did it make sense for to you when it “arrived”, perhaps because you thought you were becoming a better actor, or was it pure luck?
I oscillate between the two. It can seem totally random, which is terrifying because anything can happen, but the randomness of it all makes a little more sense to me. But I see some clearly predestined circumstances for other people, and you sometimes have these very clear realisations that an opportunity was kept from you a long time ago because it wasn’t the right place or the right time. I guess I probably lean more towards the randomness of it all, or the simple idea that if you keep at the same damn thing, you’re increasing your chances of it succeeding.
And how do you view your breakout role in Game of Thrones now?
It changed my life, but what’s interesting is how all the silly jobs that I’ve had before this one also felt like big breaks. I was a jobbing actor by my late 20s, and I was just as excited with some seventh-tier role on some network television show because it meant that I could pay some bills.
That felt like as big as a win as anything else. It’s the same with theatre. Because it’s so hard to go from the small plays to the medium-sized ones, getting a role in the latter feels like a miracle too. I was close to becoming homeless many times in the past, and was actually staying at an AirBnB before getting the role in Game Of Thrones, so I must really thank the showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss for taking that chance on me.
Has your experience in theatre helped your work in film? How do they compare?
Theatre work is like the building blocks of what I do now. From Shakespeare to something contemporary, and everything in between, I’ve done them all. When you perform the same thing eight times a week, you’re constantly reworking your role to keep it interesting, whether it’s discovering something new or discarding something that exists. It feels like training. The last time I took classes was in college – and that’s something I don’t recommend – but doing theatre work felt like staying in school, which helped. Plus, it provided medical insurance and a weekly paycheck.
Tell us more about the new Mandalorian series.
It’s taking things in a new direction. I think it’s amazing that Lucasfilm is letting Jon Favereau and Dave Felloni take Star Wars into new territories as far as style and tone are concerned, from using practical effects and digital special effects in tandem, to exploring characters out of the familiar Star Wars settings.
They’re also blurring the boundaries between the good guys and the bad guys, and I love the idea of having things in a grey area. We’re dealing with the outer reaches of the galaxy here, which means a lot of ambivalence around what is right and wrong, and the conflict between self-serving and self-sacrificial decisions and actions. It’s all very much a part of the Star Wars story. As for the character, the Mandalorian is a bounty hunter, and people pay him to do jobs. Let’s just leave it at that for now.
Christopher Nolan said he casted Tom Hardy as Bane because of how he acts through his eyes in the mask. What was it like to express everything you needed to in this role with a full-face helmet on?
Much of the work is already taken care of by the writing, which is great, as well as the visual experience that the show provides. But it was still important to me to live in the story as a person who does not show his face, so I worked a lot on the character’s body language. It feels almost like going back to theatre. I think that there’s a lot that can be told with stillness and very economical movements.
I hear that you’re a real movie nerd. Do you have recommendations for fairly unknown directors or movies that we should pay attention to?
I just saw this incredible movie called Monos by Alejandro Landes. It was amazing. And I’ve been floored by [director] Ari Aster. He’s an aesthetician that also brings out great performances, and the films Hereditary and Midsommar blew me away totally. There’s also someone who’s up and coming – Taika Waititi – who made Jojo Rabbit, that’s, in my opinion, the best movie of the year.

What was Micolash’s favorite type of book to read as a child?
Oh! I think he has been a more 'pragmatic' type of a bookworm from the beginning! An anon once suggested while Laurence or Maria would enjoy more fiction, Micolash targets not novels but docunented research, biographies, encyclopedias and other kind of non-fiction and I honestly believe it!
So yeah, he was a nerdy kid that unironically enjoyed reading textbooks and would even take a peek into those meant for older kids! Encyclopedias too, for sure. I owned a fun encyclopedia for elementary schoolers as a kid delving far into biomes of our planet. Loved it a lot, reread it many times. Micolash I feel would enjoy a similar encyclopedia! And also the ones about history... and whatever knowledge on evolution of life forms could be available in a fictional version of 19th century middle+Eastern Europe hgghgvhjfb He would not jump above the head level trying to read big books for grown, fully educated scientists as a little boy, but he had a spirit! Though all the scary realistic images in books on biology and medicine fascinated him. I actually could imagine him "always wanting to see the corpse" ever since childhood for this reason @_@" A more wholesome idea is him walking outside with a encyclopedia on herbs and other plants and trying to identify which ones he sees by it! <:3 And don't forget the biographies of great researchers of the past!
My Micolash and Rom grew up as orphans (and separated since birth), so Micolash could not have very luxurious collection of books! He probably never got his hands on half of the examples I've listed 😔 Not to mention the risk of some mean bully kids ruining his comfort book just because he was attached to it. :/ He'd early learn to read in solitude to not draw unwanted attention to his special interests, and learn to read at night in secrecy. I imagine his favorite book (that delved into history of lost arcane secrets of Pthumerians) was gifted to him by someone from Cainhurst upon seeing he was curious and capable... It slightly turned the angle of his lifelong pursuit towards more "occult" direction, but from what we've seen he'd still turn out messed up even if he stuck to "pure" medicine and biology :^)

OC Backstory:
Hiram Howell Hastings Hargrave of Holmwood Hall, Hell's Host (my username is hhhhhhhh and I had to figure out the character name from it)
31/10/1837: he's born from an upper middle class family of solicitors, and he inherits the family house and business.
1850s: he's an ambitious student and he soon manages to make contacts in the proper upper class, trying to consolidate the family's name. He travels around Europe for a while, in a mid-century railway fueled version of a Grand Tour.
14/02/1862: (25 yo) London Falls and he falls with it. The family's house gets destroyed and all their belongings are lost in the Fall. His parents and a good part of his family and friends don't survive. [Mask of the Rose plot ensues]
1860s: he tries to get back into the fancy life resuming the upper class contacts and establishing a criminal activity on the side to get a lot of other much more productive contacts around the city. After some years he gets arrested and ends up in New Newgate, losing everything again. [Fallen London game starting point]
He manages to escape from New Newgate and get all his fancy stuff back, including a brand new Handsome Townhouse. He doesn't care about the means he's using to fulfill his goals anymore, and he becomes a well respected citizen with his hands fully occupied by the criminal business. He gets into spirifage, smuggling souls across the underzee.
He starts investigating the Neath's secrets, studying the Correspondence and getting involved with Parabola and the War of Illusion, siding with The Glass. He focuses a bit too much on the Correspondence. He doesn't mind getting his hands dirty, some Laudanum might be needed to keep the nightmares at bay but he's doing mighty fine in the businesses of being a terrible person and a very successful citizen.
High society gets him more contacts within The Shuttered Palace and The Parthenaeum. Thanks to his business in Parabola he first hears of The Great Game. Some more Laudanum might still be needed to keep the nightmares at bay and his hands are not getting any cleaner but being a Person of Some Importance has it perks: the Masters are now close business contacts (shady business? solicitor advice? great game? 1000 bottles of wine? you name it).
He's always on the lookout for something more to find out and to collect around the city, and sometimes after the Campaign of '68, when the devils are integrated into the city life and part of his social circle too, he gets close with them. He first learns about the Marvelous and starts wondering about it.
1870: (33 yo) he partakes in an Abstraction and loses his soul, not very much feeling the need for it anyway.
1870s: doing mighty fine without a soul and with his emotions much less troublesome now, inconvenient things as they were, he manages to become a Midnighter with his very own agents. The criminal business is doing better than ever and the rumours about it are sedated with a good dose of mithridacy on his newspaper, The Soulless Spectator.
Still thinking about the Marvelous and wanting to find out his Heart's Desire he starts to gather informations and to find other players for the game from the late 1870s. The search for informations takes him all around the zee.
Being the proud owner of a well renown laboratory and teching Correspondence at the University, he delves into Red Science. Some copious quantities of Laudanum might now be needed to keep the nightmares at bay but his affairs have never been better.
14/04/1882: (45 yo) he wins the Marvelous, and confronted by the fact that he has to state his Heart's Desire and not just be handed whatever he was looking for, he realises that some skewed emotions and the relentless need to look for something more are in fact not enough to define what that something could even be. Somehow baffled and a little worried he asks for more Time, and the Masters, outraged and a little worried themselves, have to concede exactly that. A reckoning can indeed be postponed.
Thanks to a steady supply of Peach Brandy, courtesy of owning a Leasehold on All of London, and more Red Science his Time is not going anywhere and in the passing years life is just as interesting. Laudanum is actually something of an acquired taste.
1899 (the first, the second, and the current one):  Neath be damned, he's gonna build a railway to Hell and back.

That's my first time asking someone, it's embarrassing 😭
Maybe could you write about Habit with a s/o who's an evil entity that does crimes? Perhaps they have a thing for blood and pain. Basically they are something like Habit. (Nsfw and sfw if you can)
Thank youuuu😭😭 -🍷
Ofc! And don’t be embarrassed, i fully accommodate to first time askers! Also reader is a fox-esque bc i said so.
SFW
You weren’t part of known group of entities, Slenderman, The Administrator, The Collective, etc. but they all knew of you. They knew you liked to cause trouble, whether that be through stealing, arson, murder, but you always cleaned up after yourself, so you never had much trouble with anyone.
After HABIT took Evan as his vessel, you soon took over a human form as well, simply because as an ageless entity, you got bored often, and from what you knew of HABIT, he’d be a temporary fix.
You and HABIT got along nicely, always getting into trouble and running from the law.
HABIT finds you and your attention, practically preening whenever you proposed another one of your ‘impulsive’ ideas. Whether it be something small or something larger scaled, he’d be right there with you cackling.
I think HABIT doesn’t ‘love’ you necessarily, Entities like yourself didn't’ feel the humanized emotion called ‘love’. HABIT is more so infatuated with you; you give him attention and he keeps you from boredom.
HABIT sees you like a fucked up god, encroaching in his life and not leaving.
You and HABIT’s relationship is very affectionate and borderline animalistic. HABIT is very verbal, whether it be though growls or snarls. You however, communicate throw chirps and clicking.
HABIT loves being above you, it doesn’t matter if you’re taller than him, he will find a way to be above you. He likes the feeling of dominance.
NSFW
HABIT is a switch leaning dom, and he’s a pleaser. He can spend hours prepping you.
HABIT is a munch, like his stubble is turning red at this point. He can and will spend half the day between your thighs, reducing you to a begging, sobbing mess thats pulling at his hair.
Speaking of hair, please pull at his hair, he lives for the feeling of you tugging at his hair. Since inhabiting Evan’s body, his hair has grown significantly, so you can easily take a handful of it while HABIT’s fucking you into the mattress.
Edge him, he’s impatient and needy, but he’s learned to adore the feeling of anticipation, wanting to cum so badly but you taking that pleasure away when he’s so close? Gods he loves the feeling.
Both of you are very possessive of each other, so possessive/hateful fucking is a common theme with you two, sex filled with snarling and biting, fighting for dominance; it happens a lot.
HABIT came to notice you had a thing for blood and pain, something not unusual for murderous creatures like yourselves, but never something you brought up.
He delves into your masochism, biting and knife play are something more common in your sex lives.
Fucking in your actual forms >>>> (yall give your vessels a break man, they need sleep.)
HABIT is into is facefucking and cockwarming, he loves the feeling of your warm mouth on his cock.
Girthyyyyy
Lovemaking is reserved for down days and certain holidays.
That’s all i got for now TvT

This is about your 'Who's your least/favourite character and why' post. (P.S. this is a long one)
I'd have to say my least favorite is Uraraka. Now, I KNOW this is probably a common hot take, but she is just a COMPLETE and total waste of character and story-telling potential.
She seemed to have something going on there for a while, but a s many fans have pointed out, she kind of became a potato after the Sports Festival Arc. And that was a total shame because that arc opened up a bunch of cans of worms that could have been delved into. We got to see her interacting with her one of parents, we got to see her resourcefulness and her want to be independent. She tried her hardest and it wasn't enough, but you know what? She learned from it! She decided to focus on her lacking points (fighting) and it was nice to see her grow like that! She was also one of the few characters that wanted to be a rescue hero, so I was excited to see how her path to hero hood and her views on heroism differed from her classmates in that aspect. But nope! Hori threw all that out the window during their final exams, and let me clarify, I have no problem with romantic sub-plots. They can be interesting when it's NOT THE FOCUS.
Hori took a female character, made her seem like she was just going to be the bubbly love interest, turned her into a badass with her own goals and interesting characteristics, and then made her the bubbly love interest again. He had it going for awhile, but then he bombed! Uraraka has her moments where we see glimpses of her could-be self, but in the end she always comes back to Deku. She even promised to forget her crush for the sake of pursuing her dream during the licensing exam and SHE DIDN'T.
But okay, Deku left for awhile, Uraraka realized the kind of hero she wanted to be for the third time and I foolishly hoped this would be expanded upon more, her want to save heroes, but nope! She instead blames them for all the eff-up shit going down at the moment. Now, I'm not completely caught up with the manga at the moment, but from what I gather, she is still just Deku's love interest but is also used as a tool to further Toga now. I just, it baffles me. And like I said, I know I'm parroting a lot, but that is because it's true!
As for my favorite (and I know this will be predictable) it's Dabi. I'll get to the plot part of why I like him later. For now though, I'll say the real-world reason why I like him. As someone who has experienced abuse in multiple forms by multiple parents, I love the way he calls Endeavor out on it. He doesn't forgive him, he doesn't just forget about it. I have forgiven both my abusers, and while one was much worst than the other, I feel like I shouldn't have fully forgiven them. I want to call them out, I want to hate them, I want to stand way above them and laugh in their faces. I've never been assertive or great at expressing my feelings, but Dabi does. This is just my personal bias, on to the analysis.
For one thing, Dabi had a HUGE development from when we first saw him. Not just in his relationships, but his character as a whole. He was kind of flat in the beginning, a lone, smug villain who wanted to end hero society. And he stayed that way for awhile, but he started interacting with the other villains more. While I have no doubt his mind never drifted from his intention to use the league to get back at Endeavor, he seemed to think of them more as his team mates. And he obviously grew to care for them, he cried for Twice and attacked Hawks because he killed him (that was also because Hawks was a mole) and he burned Toga's house down for her, because he knew how hurt she was. Even with Hawks, he knew pretty much the whole time he was a double agent but he went out of the way to tell him more info then he needed too and they both seemed to spend more time together then what was necessary. He views Shigaraki as the leader and seems to have some (some) respect for him in that aspect.
We also get his backstory. We see how he came to be, we were let in on his motivations and that really helped him. Before he was just some joe who agreed with Stain but like Spinner, we saw why that was. And honestly, for someone who seemed to be so infatuated and agreeing with Stain, he hardly mentions Stain or his ideals, and you know, I kind of like that. He has moved on towards completely and realizing his own dreams instead of someone elses. His parts seemed to be well written and despite being a sociopath, he just seems so much more relatable and human compared to the 'good guys'. Hori has also spent more time flushing out character development for him instead of pointless fight scenes. At this point, I feel like Hori likes the villains more than the heroes.
This is just my opinion though! Thx for listening :)
With your points on Ochako, her character is something I wanna cover over on my other blog cause Hori’s done some great things with her and has dropped the ball in other areas.
With your points about Dabi, you actually bring up things I never considered. In terms of his relationship with his fellow villains, he’s definitely developed for the reasons you’ve mentioned.

this is going to be a little incomprehensible just a bit as most of my meta is . and im sure that this has already been said at least 5 times. but like. tbh i think that every element of adam's situation exemplifies the inherent flaws of john's ideologies and how he applies them.
one of the things that john very steadfastly sticks to is the idea that his traps have to be escapable. in the "making of saw" behind the scenes video, they emphasize that his main goal is not to punish people for their sins or make them feel regret or whatever, it's to motivate them and make them more grateful for their lives. it's to give their lives meaning. however, it's kind of arguable that john took the meaning away from adam's life by making him nothing more than a pawn to teach lawrence a lesson. lawrence was the one who was actually meant to learn something from the bathroom trap. he was the one who'd given john the cancer diagnosis, who'd tried to cheat on his wife and wasn't happy with his marriage, and the onus fell on HIM to kill adam. adam was never given explicit directions that he had to escape, only that he had to not be killed by lawrence. and ofc there's the line "the pawn has done what the knight couldn't do" directed towards adam, all coming together to indicate that adam was never the focus of the game. there was, of course, justification for putting adam into the trap: he didn't do much with his life, he did a shady job in order to get by, and in the og script he was clearly suicidal. however, in the larger context of it all, we know that he was not on equal grounds with lawrence in terms of who the trap was supposed to test, and this justification seems more like an excuse than an actual reason. more of a "let's find a reason to put him in this" you know?
there's also the fact that it's pretty probable that adam only got trapped w lawrence because he'd been taking pics of him- john had obviously already been targeting lawrence from the start, since his diagnosis was what sparked his ideology into action, so it's very possible that adam only got included because of this brief connection they shared.
and to be perfectly fair, adam did everything right by john's rules. he was told that he had to prevent lawrence from killing him, and he did; he was alive, albeit injured, by the time the events of the trap ended. the mechanism that prevented him from escaping doomed him from the beginning, and no amount of effort or desire to live would have stopped the key from going down the drain. so this definitely points to the fact that john's traps aren't always about giving people a fair chance and asking them to go to great lengths to preserve their lives, as he would claim they are.
finally, even after adam's been fully abandoned in the bathroom to die, his actual death exemplifies more flaws in jigsaw's ideology. when amanda comes back to kill him once and for all, she does so out of pity. because she has arguably been the biggest example of jigsaw's failures: she survived his games, she became an apprentice, she wanted so desperately to find the meaning and direction in life that he'd promised she'd find after all her labors. but she never ended up finding that fulfillment, only delving deeper into her regrets. she could've let him escape, but why would she, if he'd only emerge a more broken person? so she killed him in order to free him once and for all.
adam was never meant to get out of the bathroom alive, and he was never meant to be anything more than a tool to teach lawrence a lesson. as much as john preached about how he was doing good and teaching people to value their lives, he ultimately discarded the value of adam's life and reduced him to nothing more than a pawn.

Assuming it got the necessary episode numbers it needed, along with not being destroyed by disneys censors the way season 3's tone was(i will never understand why they let true colors air like it did, but then kill any plans the creators had to follow up on it), do you think Amphibia would have been better served by having the the story make all the subtext with Anne, Sasha and Marcy completely open from day one? Like it actually just came right out and told us Sasha was in love with Anne, Marcy was in love with Sasha and maybe Anne, and Anne clearly was interested in Sasha?
Have Anne's rejection of Sasha at the gatehouse also involve her confessing her that she had been in love with her all this time(Thus that Sasha's greatest desire had always been in reach at any point), but that they were completely, utterly DONE after her betrayal in the throne room.
That way you get all the delicious drama of Sasha's heart breaking into tiny, itty little pieces, while also her having to make the choice to stand against Anne anyway, and then setting up the two of them having to deal with the fallout in season 3(And again, this would need the actual episodes and care that actual season 3 didnt get), their reconciliation, and Sasha and Anne's mended relationship having the capstone of sasha telling Anne everything. Her backstory, the full deal with her parents, her revealing how she fell in love with her in the first place.
Lots of things to delve fully into before the two of them actually taking the final step, and giving an actual relationship a go.
Meanwhile, Marcy's entire storyline in season 2 leads up to her own confession, where she lays out her feelings for Anne and Sasha... Then gets rejected. Then have the trio still reeling from the aftermath of the rejected confession when true colors hits, and Anne and Sasha learn the truth... And Marcy's plan to have them spend the rest of their lives traveling the multiverse. Which puts the entire thing and all of marcy's actions in a completely different light, as she now comes across in large part as a stalker, someone who refuses to take no for an answer...
Then have Marcy's actual development, even inside her own skull during season 3, fully commit to this idea. That Marcy is a fully, all out terrible person who needs to learn to fully let go. Have her ultimately rejection of the fantasy sasha and anne be all about that, about realizing and coming to accept just how disgusting the entire thing is, that Anne and Sasha did not want her that way, and what a creep she's been refusing to accept it.
I'm sorry for my late reply, been very busy. I read the whole thing and I'll say it would be better if they would do things more openly from day one just the way you described. I also agree that it didn't make sense to force writers to tone things down after allowing the True Colors. They even show Marcy getting stabbed from another angle in Turning point but it would be wrong to show characters live normal emotions instead of going the " oh no! Anyway…" route. It didn't make a single sense. I'm not exactly sure if it was all Disney's limitations but Amphibia's writing was terrible in many ways, I don't even wanna talk about that nonsense ending.

Eee your Rufus head canons were so good! May i also request some headcanons for him? I understand that you haven’t delved into his character as much and you thought the last was too ooc (it wasn’t, they were wonderful <3) however your writing style is just so perfect! I loved the idea of him being betrothed and it sparked some hc ideas: what would his first (self chosen) relationship look like?
Tl;dr: I’m addicted to your writing pls pls pls can i get some sappy relationship hcs for Rufus 🥺 (mm tasty ‘i can help him’ vibes after the other anon’s hc requests)
I'm glad you like the last set! Honestly, I think he's really interesting.
-Relationships with Rufus are complicated. I think he pushes a LOT of people away and only really trusts a select few. On top of that, especially after the slaying of his father, he's pretty much silently paranoid he's always next to some degree. So for him to open up to anyone would be an interesting feat.
-Sooooo yeah. Rufus is gay. That's kind of the other issue. At least when you're essentially the heir to a family dynasty that lives on DIRECTLY in your name. Yet another one of the reasons why he always hated his father. His unrequited crush on Sephiroth was bad enough, and his stressful betrothal was more than enough to drive him as far back into the closet as possible just to keep all the tension out.
-Following the events of FF7, when Rufus is trying to actually shape up and change for the better, he does a lot of soul searching. For a while, he refuses to allow himself a relationship at all. Could it be disgust for his actions and lingering guilt. Noooo, of COURSE not! Definitely. Probably. Maybe.
-Okay, so maybe he's still a little guilty. Maybe he's still sort of learning how to be compassionate and gentle. Maybe he's still a LITTLE confused about what he wants. Maybe...maybe he...
-Rufus really doesn't know what to do. Where to turn. If he even really deserves anything anymore. What lies between pride and recovery? Where does redemption leave him? What is he really worthy of, if anything?
-Luckily, Rufus isn't as alone as he thinks he is. Through it all, love and hate, strain and failure, he finds that there was always one who remained faithful to him to the very end. Maybe he never really noticed before. Or maybe he had. But he knows that, even if he's unable to atone for the weight of his sins, he will always have someone at his side every step of the way. Tseng.
-It's a quiet, rather unspoken relationship. Neither really openly expresses their feelings. It's expressed in actions, tiny gestures. They always balance the fine line between professional and intimate, an iron-clad trust and fully aware of each other's vulnerabilities between the surface. But for Rufus, that is enough.

Dante and Vergil for the ask!
Dante:
do I like them:
Of course. I mean look at him. Look at the guy!
youtube
5 good qualities:
He's a great guitarist
youtube
A great actor
youtube
A great dancer
youtube
He can be really supportive of others when the situation calls for it, as seen with Lady during the end phases of DMC3, or even with Trish in the ending of DMC1. Hell he tries to look after Nero the best he can, even if he's sometimes insensitive about it
He's got a bigger heart than he lets on: in DMC3, even before he fully transitioned from "adrenaline junkie who doesn't care if the world goes to shit so long as he gets to have fun" to "more or less responsable adrenaline junkie who's willing to make tough choices for the good of everyone" he still tried to save Lady from a strike by Vergil when she interfered with their fight.
3 bad qualities:
He's a complete slob, who's always wasting around in his office not really taking care of himself, just stuffing his face with pizza, strawberry sundaes and alcohol
He's got a bad habit of getting into debts that he cannot repay, as Lady would likely confirm, since I believe he owes her a ton of cash in the anime
While he genuinely cares for Nero and wants him to stay out of harm's way it's pretty clear from his comments about him being a deadweight and "needing to sit this one out" that he doesn't fully understand or take seriously his insecurities
favourite episode/etc:
Well technically it's DMC3, for giving us the most dynamic, perhaps human and falliable Dante, though DMC5 is close for striking the best balance between being a goofball and a "I'm getting too old for this shit" 40 yo responsable adult
otp
I know everyone wants him to get into Lady's pants, but honestly aside from their interactions in DMC3 I just don't see enough chemistry and it often feels to me that fans like to pair them together mostly because she's the only available option that doesn't devolve into problematic territory
So I'm going with Dante/Pizza
brotp:
Well he's only got one bro so :P
ot3:
None
notp:
Pretty much everything involving incest, so anything with Vergil, Nero and unfortunately Trish as well
best quote
"Frankly, at first, I didn't give a damn... but because of you I know what's important now. I know what I need to do. That's what MY soul is telling me to do"
head canon
We know that for the longest time he didn't use to have the highest opinion of Sparda, but it's implied that over the years this changed. I like to imagine that, since he never learned much about his father's "adventures" when he was a kid he sometimes tries to research stories and old folk tales about him in order to learn more about him...when he can get his lazy ass off his office chair
Vergil:
do I like them
For all intents and purposes I shouldn't, since I don't have a huge liking for purely edgy characters, even if their edginess can lead to some unintentional hilarity (look: Infinite) but Vergil is helped by having a more or less convincing backstory for his edgy behaviour (a backstory that I would have liked explored DURING DMC3 not AFTER in supplemental materials, not to mention DMC5 not delving as deeply as I would have liked) while still being pretty hilarious in his stone faced edginess. Plus he's genuinely and consistently threatening, and his brand of edginess is more of the "stoic badass who commands respect with a simple stare but who gets punked on by goofy brother" rather than "dude's a pathetic loser who got a dose of raw power and thinks he's hot shit and so just spews out edgy catchphrases thinking he's cool". With the former it's someone who is equally powerful who humiliates him, with the latter he just inadvertedly humiliates himself and I don't think it was the actual intention
5 good qualities
He's very good at keeping himself neat and tidy for someone who's technically more of a hobo than his brother (I mean I don't think Vergil has a house no?)
He's very perceptive as to when somebody might just be trying to trick him (like when he attempted to kill Arkham because he rightly suspected he was trying to double cross him)
Has some fine taste in literature
The fact that his human side was able to see the consequences of his destructive behaviour, and the fact that he was willing to stop his fight with Dante and listen to Nero and try to cut down the Qliphoth before it was too late (though only after some hefty convincing and ass kicking) shows that there might still be some form of hope for him. Maybe not outright "redemption" (kinda hard to make up for killing an entire city's population), but he may one day stop being an evil douche
Truly motivated chad
3 bad qualities:
Well y'know the whole "gotta get more power even if it means destroying the world" mindset
Really shortsighted: yeah he wants to gain more power in response to his childhood trauma....but what then? What will he do after he gets what he wants? Will he ever be satisfied with the kind of power he can gain? I don't think Vergil has ever bothered making long term plans for his future
He should really work towards paying that due child support
favourite episode/etc
Technically DMC5 by virtue of being the only game that tried fleshing him out in any way. I guess there's also that Visions of V manga but I haven't read it fully
otp
Vergil/Plastic Chair
brotp
He's stuck in Hell with Dante of all people and that's comedy that writes itself
ot3
None
notp
Same as above
best quote
"You will not forget this Devil's power!"
headcanon
Dude probably kept going about displaying the "true power of a son of Sparda" while conceiving Nero

no because i wanna talk about nancy and how she’s literally such an interesting character but the duffer brothers are fucking it up so much by repeatedly giving her romantic arcs with jonathan and steve.
like if you watch the first three seasons, almost all of nancy’s storylines are at least partially dependent or centered around steve and/or jonathan and her relationship with them. none of them are just about nancy, you know? the duffer brothers never really let her be her own character outside of her relationships with them.
and what gets me about that is like. nancy was raised in a family that was the pinnacle of the american dream white picket fence type of family. she even says that to jonathan in season one. and it wasn’t until all of the upside down stuff happened that she ever started to be someone outside of that reality. she was following the same path as her parents up until that point.
but she never actually got the proper chance to learn about herself and what she actually wants for her future because she kept being in relationships where she (albeit unintentionally) conformed to what the other person was looking for. which isn’t the fault of either person, that’s always been something that teenagers—especially teenagers with identity issues of some kind—have experienced in their relationships. there’s actually a lot of parallels to steve there—which absolutely contributed to how dysfunctional their relationship was—however the duffer brothers actually gave steve storylines where he was able to develop as an individual, unlike they did with nancy.
season four was really the only season that gave us storylines centered around nancy. ignoring the handful of times her relationships with steve and jonathan were brought up, nancy’s storylines in season four were actually about nancy—what she’s capable of, how she acts, literally who she is as an individual character. in previous seasons we didn’t really get to see a whole lot of nancy’s interactions with people without steve or jonathan as a buffer of some kind. that’s one of the things i loved so much about her scenes with robin—they weren’t really familiar with each other beforehand and we were able to see both of them outside of previously established relationship dynamics (a similar concept to eddie and steve’s relationship but that’s a whole other can of worms for so many reasons). nancy and robin didn’t have any history and we got to see them build that friendship throughout the season without any real influence by other characters. it was just robin and nancy at the core of their characters—which gave us nancy more unmasked and unfiltered than she is with jonathan or steve.
the relationships between nancy and steve and nancy and jonathan were rooted in who nancy was when she had the least direction in her life, the least self-awareness and was the least cognizant about her wants and desires—especially in her relationship with steve. neither pairing was able to truly move past that foundation and they almost clung to those initial versions of nancy from seasons one and two, keeping nancy from fully being able to separate herself from that version of her that doesn’t really exist anymore.
those relationships are actively keeping nancy from becoming her own person. she isn’t able to delve into who she is as an individual because she’s still chained to those relationships—and that’s fully the fault of the duffer brothers. they haven’t let her truly exist as an individual, she’s always been shackled by other people and until the duffer brothers give her the chance to be free from that and look inwardly and introspect on herself as a person, her character will never reach her full potential in the series or have a fitting end to her character arc.

xyz genshin things that are stuck in my head.
Contains spoilers to sumeru if you consider the excerpts from artifact sets to be as such. (also like one rhukkadevata and nahida excerpt.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
These two panels wound up changing how I see so many of the stories so incredibly hard in Genshin. In a good way! For the longest time I always wondered what the 'flowery' way of describing things was needed for, as hard cut facts to learn truths would've been great.
To see them tailor purpose into that isn't only a neat concept, but now it makes me come to stare harder towards many events that happened back then.
So conjecture hour here but as I stare back at the Gnostic Chorus, this--

Make me think this particular scene here is an allegorical showing of Teyvat 'The Genesis pearl' and what Forbidden knowledge has supplemented into the world at large. That said however, it becomes a double edged sword to humanity.
That said. Why exactly would I think of this being Teyvat and the power of a knowledge from beyond seemingly infecting the pearl? It'd come from these tidbits.
One from before sun and moon.

Which I believe the clam shell represents within this piece, while the glimmering, shining pearl within being the Elementally rich world of Teyvat, a great source of power.
As for the snake? This 'poison' which has often been talked about being devoured by the world I believe has played a central and key role in the awakening of humanity's power over the course of Teyvat's history. The newest artifact set delves a bit into this.

Why this captures my attention the raw scale it does is how these gods cast from Celestia. King Deshret and the Goddess of Flowers (Who is heavily considered as one of the final survivors of the Seelie curse.) in particular were outcast, living steady in the lands of humanity and beginning to fashion a plan together due to the potential they saw within people. By no means was it a kind plan, it was a path rife with suffering, but also untold strength to be properly awakened as it always slept within people..
What I believe this darkness that saturates the world is an amplifier of igniting a key component of life within humanity. Desire.
This is ultimately would tear humanity away from the days similar to Sal Vindagnyr. Where humanity was instead upon a path where the Divine served as shepards while the humans below being the 'livestock' that only had to follow and obey, never to truly learn outside of what was ordered of them.
That brings in another question. With all of this said, how can Forbidden Knowledge be a positive? That's where the idea of a double edged sword comes in. Ultimately, falling into the midst of this without vastly gained spiritual centers would lead to doom and despair. Its more of a trigger to unlock certain aspects of humanity that were tucked in their deepest recesses.
For instance, we see how Rhukkadevata actually makes a confirmed conjecture that the power of human consciousness/dreams can actually defeat the worst aspects of that power. This was the purpose of the Akasha.

She managed to discover the hidden link of how if Teyvat's current structure can't handle this. People can, and it's through their hidden potential of their own brand of divinity, of consciousness, life, that it can actually be dismantled. The only reason she couldn't cleanse herself is due to being the Avatar of Irminsul. Unlike others who have their memories linked to it. Being a literal embodiment required her destruction.
In the end! I think the Second who Came might've been more of a positive force then what many thoughts and theories made them out to be. With this possibility, it also settles Phanes in a more pondering light as I don't want to play fully into sides just yet with my current perceptions. While I'm waiting for more information as many others--
What really just struck me on this path of thought is watching the progress of society.
How the Sal Vindagnyr era grew up, where this dependency upon the Divine Envoys and prayer ultimately led to them knowing so little if they were led to an answer.
Vs say modern day Liyue, where Rex Lapis's determination to have humanity govern their own future, and by granting them the wisdom, tools and means to handle the test of passing this dangerous mantle, we're coming to see how the current day society if thriving a LOT better I say in comparison.
While far from the most ideal, it's a road that is going somewhere.
