Act 10: -> Scene 2: "are you mad?"

WRITTEN PART -> (0.8k) -> ss after text

“you what..?”

“i invited my dad…”

a huge sigh of relief escaped jay's mouth, “oh thank god, you're not cheating on me”

“are you crazy?? why would i cheat on you?!?”

“hon you’re the crazy one, you. you invited your dad. i- how?-”

yin lays back down as she runs a hand through her hair, pulling at the knots, “i read mom’s diary, and there were three names.”

jay leans on his arm and raises an eyebrow, “three names? what like, your mom had three men?” he squints his eyes as he starts to think. “ohh she did… so how did you find your dad?”

his fiancé groans into her hands, “i didn’t.. all three of them are here, and they all think they’re walking me down the aisle.”

“no.” jay’s own face falls, and he rests his hand on yin’s for stability. “yin you actually invited all of them? ..why..?”

“i.. i thought that i would know who my dad was right away, but no. and even after getting to know all of them, i'm honestly not sure, even though i was sure it was juyeon for a bit but-”

“no yin, i mean why? why did you invite them? they've never been here, and you've lived your whole life without knowing who they are. i mean- does mom know?”

“no.. god, this is why i didn't tell you at first, i knew something like this would freak you out-”

“something like this? you invited three whole strangers to our wedding without telling me first. you didn't even tell your mom about this. they were a part of y/n's past, and considering you were never told about them, she probably wanted to keep it that way.”

the two sat in silence for a while, even with the loud footsteps of their friends passing by their room, the couple stay staring at the ceiling.

“are you mad?” yin broke the silence, her voice a silent whisper.

“not mad, just confused..” jay turns his head to glance at yin, her eyes fixated to the air. he makes a move and places his hand atop hers. “thank you for telling me, better late than never, right?”

“i'm sorry.”

“i'm not the one you should be apologizing to.” he sits up to grab the forgotten plate of food next to them. “once you finish your food, go ahead and see mom outside”

“alright..” yin hesitates before asking something, “do you maybe want to see our notes?”

“our?-” he was cut off when yin pulled out her phone and was scrolling through google docs. he notices the texts on the page with the ‘designated colors’ of each girl and sighs, knowing that he can't refuse now that he knows.

Meanwhile, outside back on the courtyard was Y/n. A huge mess was left as an aftermath of the bachelorette party turned bachelorette and bachelor party, and she took the duty of cleaning up the whole place.

A few of Jay's friends helped a bit but when it came to decorating the eventually dinning table she dismissed the boys to enjoy themselves. Good thinking as someone ended up sneaking up behind her.

“Y/n.”

Hands on her shoulders and the familiar tone of the voice calling her name startled Y/n. “Woah! Who—Younghoon?”

“There's something I need to tell you or ask you but—”

Y/n tries walking off, but the stubborn male trails right behind her. “Look, I can't talk long, no wait. I can't talk, period. My daughter's wedding is today—”

“This is what I wanted to talk about because, daughter? I thought you said she's some local girl.”

Y/n opens her mouth to answer but is cut off by Younghoon before a sound can even come out of her mouth. Deep eyebags under the man's eyes start becoming more prominent to Y/n now that the two are looking at each other under the bright sun.

“Why didn't you say she's your daughter at first?”

“Because Younghoon, it's none of your business.”

“Oh, but I think it's my business too.” The word ‘shit' runs through his mind as he thinks about how he's going to get himself out of this situation.

“What? I—What do you mean..?”

Younghoon's face runs cold, his eyebrows narrowed, and eyes narrowed onto Y/n's features. He wanted to keep his acknowledgement a secret and was searching her face for a reply to give.

“Because I'm still in love with you..”

Well, that's some answer he conjured up.

synopsis = a day before her wedding day, Yin decides to find her father so he can walk her down the isle, the problem? There's three candidates: Lee Juyeon, Kim Younghoon, and Lee Hyunjae.

Act 9: Voulez-Vous

WRITTEN PART -> (1.3k) -> no ss after text

“oh gosh, uhm okay yin. you got this.. it's just one simple question, and you can do this!”

yin was looking for juyeon in the crowd of people, her hands shaking as she lets her eyes look over for the tall man.

“juyeon! hey!” she runs over to him with a nervous smile, “oh wait, should i be calling you dad now? are you okay with that..?”

“Of course I am! Why don't you try it?”

“dad.. can i ask you a question?”

“Oh! See how naturally that came out? And yes, what's the question, Yin?”

“can you walk me down the isle tomorrow?”

Once again, a shocked expression is displayed across Juyeon’s face, “Me?? You want me to walk you down the aisle??”

“it's probably very sudden, especially after we just found out we're father and daughter but-”

“I'll be there Yin! Oh.. this is becoming one of the best days of my life. Wait we should really tell your mom-”

“no! i really think it should be our secret, until tomorrow.”

He nods at Yin's words, putting a finger in front of his mouth as a ‘shh’ gesture. “Okay okay, my first secret with my daughter oh my god!” Yin's dad places a hand on the small of her back, turning her back to the courtyard.

“You should head back, go enjoy yourself before your special day!”

as yin looks ahead, the view of a larger crowd confuses her. yuna beckons her over to the side where her and karina stand.

“yuna? did something happen?”

“remember your tweet? so uh.. the parties are merged now.”

the three merely blink at each other, internally sighing at the group of men.

“where’s jay?”

“on the dance floor.”

yin walks towards jay. her man runs straight to her as soon as he sees a slight glimpse of her. “oh there’s my pretty princess!” jay’s arms wrap around his soon to be wife’s body. quick kisses are planted across yin’s face.

“jay! did you really miss me so much you had to merge our two parties?”

“hey, you asked for me and now i'm here”

“i asked where my husband is, not where's my fiancé.”

“oh, so you were looking for seventeen's mingyu and not me?”

“sorry to announce this to you again, hon.. but he's calling for me” she sarcastically fans her face as jay softly looks at her.

yin pretends to turn away from jay but he holds onto her hand to regain her attention, “awe, too bad i can't give you this friendship bracelet then” jay pulls out a bracelet with mismatched beads and starts to wrap it around yin's wrist.

“jake joked around saying we should make friendship bracelets but jungwon actually brought the materials- mine is right here” he lifts up his wrist to show two bracelets, “one with the boys and one for us”

“for your bachelor party, you guys made friendship bracelets?”

“well thats one thing we did-” yin shushed him with a kiss, “glad that we're celebrating our friendship with this bracelet, princess.” yin says with a pat on jay's cheek.

Just then, the three older ladies finally come out from the inside. Y/n's face full of surprise and amusment at the larger amount of people outside. Juyeon takes notice of Y/n and starts to walk torwards her but Yin notices.

“go dance with mom!”

jay looks confused as yin pushes him torwards the direction of y/n but goes along with it as for some reason the music grows louder in the air.

yin starts to head to juyeon, but younghoon pulls her aside.

“Yin, come here. Why didn't Y/n tell me? How long have you known?”

“known what??”

“That I'm your father”

“WHAT?!?” yin looks around, making sure no one else heard. her eyes widen at the fact that she's back at stage one again. “not long at all! younghoon listen to me, mom doesn't know that i know. so can we wait till after my wedding..?”

“The boys said there's no one walking you down the aisle. Is that right?”

panic starts to settle in yin's head, “nobody is-”

“Wrong. I am! It'll be our secret till then” Younghoon has a bright smile as he pats Yin's shoulders and walks off as she's left with overwhelming thoughts in her head.

“Yin? Is everything alright?” said girl quickly turns around and makes eye contact with her mom and jay.

“mom! jay! yeah, i'm alright. It's just.. is the music getting loud for you guys, too?? my head is throbbing.”

the three look over at the sound system and notice jake, niki, and yuna playing around with it. “hold on, I'll go fix it for you hon” the trio notice jay walking towards them and started sprinting in three different directions.

“Baby, are you sure it's just the music that's wrong?” Y/n asks Yin after Jay left. Her hand stroked her daughter head. “It's looks like there's something else going on in your mind”

“what? huh? no mom i'm fine, i think i need some space right now.. but it's gonna hard because of all the people here.”

“Alright Yin, you're going to find a quiet place for yourself, and-” Y/n finds herself trailing away from her words as she makes eye contact with someone behind Yin.

“and take a break, mom?”

“Yes exactly that! Now I'm going to find your aunts to freak out about the fact that my baby is growing up too fast.” Y/n quickly parts away from Yin to avoid the person behind her.

“Boo!”

she looks behind her, more confused than startled at the suddenness. “hyunjae? hey!”

“So weird how a bunch more people suddenly appeared,”

“gotta blame my husband for that, or well soon-to-be husband, still have to wait a few hours for that title”

“Young love, so annoyingly sweet” Hyunjae pauses before saying his next words. It's a pause that piles onto Yin's shoulders. “Say, remember what you told me on the boat, Yin? I think.. No, I realized something.”

yin mumbles under her breath, “oh no..”

“I'm your dad, right? I mean, now it makes total sense why you invited a total ‘stranger’ to your wedding. You wanted your dad to walk you down the aisle! Don't worry, Yin, I'll be right next to you sending you off to your lovely fiancée!”

“i-” she can't even get a word out before hyunjae cheers, and a boost of adrenaline hits him as he heads to the dancefloor that he avoided earlier that night.

“oh you've got to be kidding me..” the throbbing in yin's head becomes stronger as she finally takes in her surroundings.

flashing lights in the air, music booming through speakers, people cheering and dancing. overwhelming surroundings mixed with overwhelming thoughts do not go well together for the young woman.

“yin!” a male voice startles her out of her thoughts, “mom told me you needed to go to a more quiet space”

“jay..”

“come on princess, just follow my lead” jay leans yin on himself, steadying her body as she starts to stumble in her place.

“is it just me, or are the lights dimming a little for you too..”

“what?” jay doesn't get an answer as yin goes fully limp in his arms, all the stress that built up finally reached her head as it goes blank..
