Time to do another dramatic reading of our least favourite avatar.

Today, I will be subjecting myself and all of you to the vignette titled "space".

Unfortunately, it's not about the cool space. Which is a shame, because that would have less incest in it.

So we once again start off with a republic city tabloid making the Avatar upset.

That is twice that this framing device has been used, and while this vignette came first, I think Lily needs to come up with a better opener. We can only have Niva read so many tabloids, and getting upset by it, as a framing device so many times before I start to question why Niva keeps reading them.

And because the author has a barely disguised fetish, we get to jump right into the incest using the tabloids as an excuse:

If people are reading your behaviour as romantic, to the point that it's getting printed into tabloids, it really makes me question just what you were doing to give off that impression. (We get a good idea of this pretty fast in this vignette.)

If I didn't know they were sisters, I would think they are dating.

Because this is a couple spat.

As for the claim that people can't comprehend sincere devotion without sex, well, if the Avatar and her sister are always touching each other in public in the ways that lovers do, then it isn't the public who is misreading the situation.

Again, this isn't how SIBLING'S talk.

This is how romantic partners speak to each other.

If I can pull this lines out, and show them to a total normie, and they would think this is a couple, then you have written a romance, not a sisterly bond.

And I'm sorry, but if someone is always having their arms wrapped around each other in rather intimate ways, and talking about how devoted they are to said person, then people are going to make assumptions. It's not them misunderstanding what they're seeing or reading too much into it. It's them seeing how too people are acting, and making a conclusion.

Alright, moving on.

Here's a red flag for any relationship:

Our supposedly confident, self actualized Avatar needs an excuse to assert her boundaries.

So either the Avatar isn't actually a confident, self actualized badass like Lily claims, or, her sister has reacted negatively to demands for space in the past, making the avatar nervous about asking for said space without an excuse.

Either way, this is yikes behaviour, and something any other author would explore, but we all know Lily won't explore it.

We then get a little bit about how Niva hate's Republic City because it makes her feel overwhelmed and overstimulated, which if Niva is meant to be on the spectrum, is a nice bit of character building.

We then get them bashing the food in Republic City because it's "corporate" and then Lavi tells her to "just be honest about her need for space", they hug, and we end on this groaner:

Probably the most normal part of this relationship, and guess what?

It sucks.

I think it's the last two lines. They just scream "I need a witty closer".

And that was Space.

I think I need Space from it. 🤣😭

This was another episode in our growing series called "the author's barely disguised fetish". And while I'm certain Lily gets a lot of enjoyment out of subjecting people to it without their knowledge or consent, I do not.

And I went into this knowing exactly what it was going to contain.

To summarize my thoughts on this literal nothingburger of a story...

I don't have any.

Despite being gross because of the incest, it really doesn't actually tell you much about the characters outside Niva feeling like she can't even ask for space from her sister, which would be fine... if Niva wasn't supposed to be a self-confident badass. So now it just reads as problematic, but we all know this will never be addressed.

Honestly, the incest is the only thing that either of those characters have going for them, and that's both parts gross, tragic and hilarious.

Her real name is Miranda but everyone calls her Myssie. Only Hobie calls her Miranda and that's only when they about to start arguing.

She's 22, an exotic dancer, bud dealer, and credit-card scamming hacker.

HOWEVER

Not only is her faceclaim Rico Nasty but she's also his ex and I have no idea how to write her without ppl being like 'damn why she so mean to him 😐'

But uhh yeah they meet as civilians a couple years back but didn't get into it until Hobie was in a tight spot money wise and needed a place to stay - this was right after he got his powers and was patrolling 24/7 to the point it was wearing him down and he had no interest in making money.

And his friend Harry was like 'you can stay with my bud dealer but she might have you working for her'

Hobie ended up staying with her as her pseudo-body guard and blunt roller until he started hitting on her.

Which, she was like 'that's fucking bold of you. You sleeping in my crib, eating my food and now you wanna sleep in my bed? AND YOU'RE BROKE?'

But somehow it worked. He has the rizz. I'm serious.

He got a 'promotion'.

Though Myssie would never say they're dating or that she's his girlfriend.

She'd always say specifically "Hobie's my boyfriend."

And if you asked him, he'd specifically say "I'm her boyfriend."

ie, He's hers. Like not in a possessive way but in a 'She ain't his any-fucking-thing. She ain't nobodies nothing' kinda way - do that make sense 😭

They dated for about a year, with Myssie finding out he was Spider-Man on her own a couple months in.

She was not thrilled. She wasn't mad. She just -

That crawling on walls shit night be cute - but being out in them streets fighting some punk-ass cops talking about 'I'm an anarchist suicide-machine'?

No, no I think not.

Originally she was not into it. That righteous shit was not for her. Her and Hobie had been handling business smoothly, Myssie had moneying come in. The whole circle was eating good - why was he trying to be a hero?

She much preferred he did it on his own time like before. The webs can stay though, she likes the webs.

Hobie on the other hand was like 'okay fuck whatever'. It's not like he needed to be held and babied 24/7. And he knew how Black Cats were, but still - damn.

He'd come home after the shittiest patrol, and she'd act like it was a bad day at the office. A blunt can't fix everything.

Eventually as Myssie learned that Hobie being Spider-man didn't mean he was trying to force righteousness on her - or looked down on her for not seeking it, she got more comfortable with the idea.

And then she got her ass locked up.

All of a sudden she's like 'Hey Spidey come get me 🤣🤣🤣'

Of course he comes. But of course he's like

"I should leave you're arse here but I won't because I'm a good person."

And she's like "You won't because you know better - I'm just joking stop playing and get me out babes 😭😭'

So they had a few good months of crime and justice. Having government systems, stealing funds. Myssie dancing and dealing on the side while Hobie does shows.

They dated maybe a year, a little over that.

Eventually she broke up with him. It was a harsh one. Myssie has Borderline Personality Disorder and although she really loved Hobie, after finding out he was Spider-Man the concern and worry and stress it put on her was too much and she choose to look after her mental health instead.

She's not the type to patch him up when he comes home bloody. Waking up to that shit genuinely stresses her out.

Sitting around waiting not knowing if he would make it home really fucked with her head every night.

She's not trying to take down a system. She's trying to put food on her table and money in her account and live her life fucking quietly.

Eventually she was like 'I'm sorry. I love you, but you're driving me nuts.'

Hobie couldn't fault her. But damn it hurt. Especially because it wasn't like a 'oh btw maybe we should break up' kinda thing it was a 'i can't take this shit anymore' type thing.

He actually felt bad for putting her in the situation because she signed up to date him not Spider-man. And Myssie was never a hero to begin with, she doesn't have a righteous bone in her body.

And then it came to the topic of - UH OH you now live with your ex-boyfriend (plus he's broke and reckless)

Myssie offered to pay for a place for him but Hobie was like 'fuck no' and took off.

Eventually through Harry, Myssie learned that Hobie got a place - his boathouse - making a steady income on his band's mixtape and merch. She was happy for him, but she still kept her distance. Cause like, how do you even approach that?

After breaking up with a dude then low-key kicking him out your flat? It's not like she just stopped having feelings for him. So she kept her distance, for both of their sakes.

No hard feelings, but doing what she has to do.

So that was it. Until one day, Hobie shows up at her job.

Mind you, Myssie dances. So Hobies options were coming to her house unannounced, or show up to her strip club unannounced.

He meets her backstage but, she refuses to see him unless he pays like everyone else.

He can either buy a dance or buy some weed, but she'll only link with him as a customer. They can't just be hanging to hang, y'know?

So Hobie leaves and the next day, he turns up to her place early with the money - having gotten an early advance from a performance.

He buys a quarter of buds from her, and while he rolls a blunt he tells her that he needs her to hack an extremely sophisticated system.

One more complicated than anything they've ever seen.

He can't pay her for the job. He's asking her as a friend.

He tells her that if she takes it, she's going to have to learn a lot about him being Spider-man, and that it might change a lot of things for her, but it's something he can't do on his own.

Reluctantly, Myssie agrees.

He shows her is Spider Society watch - and tells her he needs help hacking the system and disabling the AI on it.

He wants to find the backdoor that leads to HQ's mainframes, and deconstruct it from there.

He tells her about what it can do, and the other Spider-people. Myssie agrees to do the job, but stops him from telling her more, because she'd rather live not knowing everything about the universe.

For a couple weeks they work on it together, and surprisingly they don't rip out each other's throats. In fact, it's kinda nice.

Then Diane enters the picture.

Myssie isn't jealous. She's just very confused.

For one, it's very obvious Diane is from a different planet. She acts like it. There's nothing punk or edgy about her. She's very clearly not from 138.

But she's Spiderwoman. The idea that there's more of them? A whole multiverse of them - a whole multiverse of Black Cats - Myssie... isn't with it.

And secondly, Diane is the opposite of Myssie. Myssie has never heard her say a joke that wasn't well-meaning.

The first time Diane heard Myssie tell Hobie 'Shut the fuck up' (within ten minutes of meeting her) Diane audibly gasped.

Myssie was like 'girl you too tf 🤨 shit both y'all pissin me off'

It's not that Myssie doesn't like Diane - it's just that half the time when Diane speaks Myssie is like

Diane is nice and all - but where the fuck did he find this chick? Why she always here?

Why does she like Hobie so much? He's a lame!! He's broke!! He tells wack ass jokes!!

Like yeah Myssie dated him and loves him but also ????? Groupie??? Girl get a grip!!!!!!

But anyway Myssie helped Hobie hack Spider Society's systems.

They're currently defined as 'Exes' in a nonexistent situationship. Diane has floated the idea with Hobie of them getting back together, now that Hobie has her to support him in the Spideystuff (they're polyam) but Hobie is like 'that ain't up to me'

What happens to them? Idk.

But they've started hanging out to hang out again, so that's a start.

And she's been flipping him off more, which is like her way of flirting.

But like.... That's cute and all - but in the moment she's so mean.

He says a stupid joke to mess with her and she's like ' shut the fuck up and roll the blunt bruv 😒🤨' even though she's stickering and cackling.

But I don't want y'all to think she's just being mean to him just to be mean 😭😭 noo

The way they talk to each other is mad aggressive

Like when he makes a bad joke and she calls him 'one daft bastard' she means he's funny and cheeky and being a silly little guy

My last take is the pride parade stuff which is just silly to get mad about?? As a person who has basically raised my siblings as my own children and wanting kids of my own some day, I can understand about the not wanting children to see half naked people and honestly who would? What I get is that it is a pride parade and they are mostly known for people doing that, they usually make a flyer or post saying if it's going to happen orr not so please look first. What pisses me off is when people defend that and call them something-phobic for not agreeing 😑 "Agree to disagree" is perfectly put for this, People can have opinions on this without being hateful. You guys come OOON

That is all I have to say for this, I would touch on the racism aspect but I must say out of that whole thing I could understand why people were mad/hurt and I am a pale ass white-irish person who has never experienced racism(only the "HA HA YOU'RE AN ALCOHOLIC" jokes due to me being irish 🤣)so I have no right to say anything in that.

I've had this idea in my head for a while now...

We all know how much Mac hates getting wet so how would he react when faced with the prospect of a "new" New Year's tradition introduced by his Scottish boss?

The original plan was screenshots, but I had to do a write up!...so maybe today I'll get some proper visuals...but for now I hope you enjoy this silly one shot! (And if anyone wants to do some drawings...I'd love to see some of this hilarity brought to life 🫶)

Here's to new Wasteland Traditions

"You can't be serious..." MacCready searched the boss' face. Shit-eating grin aside, there was not a single sign of a lie.

"I'm tellin' ye lad... every year without fail... rain or shine." Nate sat down on the couch beside his young companion. "Sometimes even snow." He added after a brief pause.

"So you're telling me you dressed up and—”

"Dressing up was optional... traditionally ye just shed to yer kegs and run right in."

"Run into water?"

"Cauld, sobering, icy waters."

"I guess you Scots really are crazy," MacCready chuckled to himself, "or you're full of Brahmin crap."

"Oi," Nate elbowed him. "It's real. On the day o' the new year, we'd head tae the shore, and strip to our undergarments and bolt intae the sea. 'Tis invigoratin', got the blood pumpin' in a way nothing else did. I dinnae even reckon bein' chased by a Deathclaw could get me heart goin' as fast as that did."

MacCready laughed at the mention of the oversized lizard. "Running from a deathclaw is different. You know you'll die if you lose, running into the ocean is just stupid."

"Hypothermia is nae joke, lad... and it didnae need to be an ocean... could be a river... ye know... like that one that runs aroon' Sanctuary..."

There was something in the way the Scot was talking that made MacCready nervous. That sparkle in his eye was never a good sign. "Not on your life!”

Nate's grin only grew wider. "Oh c'mon! Ye'd be the only one bein' a wee rad-chicken! Preston, Sturges, Codsworth, the settlers around Sanctuary…and even Dugmeat all want tae do it."

"Right... and Dogmeat told you that how, exactly? Did he write it out on the dirt using a stick?"

Nate gave a belly laugh at that. "Gave me a paw."

"You are full of it." MacCready shook his head. "No way in hell am I doing this."

"No even for five hundred caps?”

"Five hundr--" MacCready choked on his words.

"Counted them maself... put them in a nice big jar ...but there is a catch... last man standin' ...or lady... gets it!"

MacCready groaned. This was stupid, beyond stupid, but the caps..."Fine."

"Attaboy!”

Sanctuary Hills Annual Loony Dook.

MacCready stared at the painted ply board sign as if it was personally insulting him. Perhaps it was. If it hadn't existed, he wouldn't have been standing out in the rain.

He glanced at the plastic blue pins of Rad-X piled up in the little shed next to the sign, blankets too. Nate was prepared for everything.

MacCready's laugh was almost incredulous. "Is that why you've been hoarding all the supplies!? Because you were planning this stupid event!?"

Nate laughed in response. "Notice that did ye?"

MacCready sighed. "How can I not notice!?"

"I hardly want folks getting sick from radiation poisoning while they're havin' fun. Now, c'mon, come help me welcome our guests," Nate elbowed him in the ribs before gesturing to the rest of Sanctuary.

"Fine!”

"Let's get the show on the road," Nate smiled, marching off toward the gates where the majority of the settlers were gathered.

"Hey, Blue!” Piper called out to them as they approached.

"Ah, monsieur! It is quite the spectacle you are throwing here today," Curie said as the two came to a stop. "I must say, I am rather excited to try this 'dooken' as you call it. The effects of immersion in such cold temperatures will be most fascinating!"

"Ye'll love it, lass," Nate replied.

"Where the Frick did you get bathing suits?" MacCready asked her, noticing the bright pink ruffled one piece she was wearing.

"As it turns out," Piper began. "Curie has a remarkable sewing ability...she even made something for you..."

"You made me something...?"

MacCready would have blushed if it weren't for how cold he was, the likelihood of any color filling his cheeks was slim to none–even with all his layers!

Curie nodded enthusiastically. "Wi, Monsieur Nate provided me with a list of attendees!"

He did what?

"Here you go!" She handed him a bundle of striped green and white fabric.

"Thanks... I think." MacCready looked at it skeptically. It was a one-piece suit of sorts. Not unlike what the girl was wearing, but with longer legs.

"Deacon's is blue and white, Preston also, but different shades! They look most handsome!"

"Why thank you, ma'am," Deacon appeared behind the doctor. "I think you look very dashing yourself."

"Merci!"

He looked ridiculous, a similarly striped suit to the one in MacCready’s hands, he guessed the red cape was his own addition.

"This IS most invigorating," followed another voice, this time belonging to a smiling tin can.

"Danse...lad..." Nate paused. "Do ye no think that's cheatin', son?"

The ex-Brotherhood Paladin just shrugged. "On the contrary, General. Without the appropriate protective clothing, my Power Armor provides no protection from the elements."

"Without protective—are you telling me you're in your birthday suit under there!?" MacCready blurted out.

Danse simply nodded. "Affirmative."

"General, your friend from Concord has arrived...and he brought company," Preston joined the fold, Minutemen blue in his bathing suit, and still wearing his hat.

"Jacob is here!?" Nate sounded more excited than he intended.

The group glanced at each other.

"Who's Jacob?" Piper asked after him.

Nate just waved her off.

"Does our good General have a secret to share?" A gravelly voice asked from behind them.

"John," MacCready turned to face the ghoul and he couldn't help it. His eyes dropped lower.

What the actual fuck!? Could that even be considered clothes? Red leather Speedo, cowboy boots and his signature hat...that was all he was wearing.

"My eyes are up here, kid," Hancock grinned as the younger man realized what he was doing.

"Wha--I wasn't—"

"You were," Hancock's smile turned into a smirk.

"Well ain't this quite the gatherin' and you thought people would pass up the opportunity for tradition!" Another accent entered their midst.

"I'm only here for the caps...got my eye on a new mod for my rifle," another familiar face pushed through the throng of bodies.

"Aiden's here too?" MacCready muttered under his breath. The ex-minuteman Gunner hunter didn't seem to know where to look as he came to a stop.

"Gotta say, Slick, you got a lotta people who care about ya," Jake leaned against the wooden railings of the bridge.

"Well, ain't you a handsome one!"

MacCready's smile widened. Cait!?

"Uh...thanks..." Aiden mumbled, rubbing the back of his neck. "I uh...I'm just gonna..."

"Don't take it personally, darlin'," Jake smiled. "Aiden's not much for conversation."

"Who else are we expecting, Monsieur?” Curie asked.

"Nick's around, he's keepin' Dugmeat busy so folks can get ready and I do believe Strong is off huntin' fer our supper," Nate answered.

"Splendid! Would your boyfriend like a costume, Monsieur?”

"Boyfriend!? I—"

Nate cleared his throat.

"Thank ya, darlin'," Jake smiled at the doctor. "Much appreciated."

"Hey, Sharpshooter!"

MacCready froze. No...fuck no...he didn't hear that. He refused to turn around and look.

"Mac?"

No.

"MacCready!"

"Beau..." the mercenary reluctantly turned.

Fuck! Sturges was wearing one of those swimsuits too, and the size of him. It was...indecent.

"Howdy," Sturges tipped his head and smiled.

MacCready was dead, dying, or just having some incredibly vivid hallucination. No way. Just fucking no.

"What's wrong?"

"I'd harbor a guess our Merc here is wondering how you can fix his plumbing," Hancock chimed in.

"I—"

"Think he's wondering if your equipment is up to the task," Deacon added.

"That is most absurd," Curie commented. "Sturges is a mechanic, not a plumber."

"A certified handyman," Piper giggled.

"Shut the fu—uh heck up!"

Hancock snorted.

"That's enough...quit teasin' the poor lad." Jake stepped in to defend him.

"Yeah, lay off the kid." Nick Valentine decided to join them, standing by Nate's side, no swimsuit for him...it was almost like he was programmed to wear nothing but his detective gear. "You know how sensitive he is."

MacCready felt like he was about to spontaneously combust.

"I'm gonna go change before I get the urge to shoot someone." MacCready stormed off.

"Someone's touchy," Cait noted.

"More like he can't handle the heat," Hancock countered.

"You should probably change as well," Nick suggested to the newcomer. Knew the fella from all the times he stopped by that information broker who had taken up residence in Diamond City. "The Ron"? Or something like that.

"Right you are, Mister Valentine," Jake agreed. "I will be right back."

"So polite! Monsieur Jacob makes a most agreeable guest," Curie smiled.

"I know, right! He's a peach." Piper grinned. "Got yourself a good one there, Blue."

"No foolin' you lot, is there?” Nate just laughed. "C'mon, we might as well get a move on. It's comin' up to noon soon."

MacCready stood in front of the bathroom mirror. It took him a few minutes to figure out how to put the damned thing on. It was too tight in some places, yet hung awkwardly from his body.

At least his hat matched, because it was staying on.

A knock on the door snapped him out of his thoughts.

"You got lost in there?” Jake's voice carried through the wooden door.

"Just give me a second!"

"Alrighty..."

A few deep breaths, and MacCready was good to go.

"Not a word...not a single freaking word!"

Jake held his hands up and took a step back. "Wouldn't dream of it."

MacCready stomped past the engineer and back towards the group.

"Christ, and I thought I was pasty... lookin' at ye, it's like a white sheet slapped 'er a skeleton."

MacCready glared daggers at the smug looking bastard and wished he had his rifle. How is this bastard not shivering? MacCready could barely keep himself from trembling, and he's standing there, barefoot with no shirt on. Only thing he has on is a pair of red plaid trunks and his glasses.

"Har har... can we get this over with already?"

Nate grinned from ear to ear. "Ye sound like ye don't wanna do this."

"Oh? What gave it away?" MacCready crossed his arms across his chest, the cool air and heavy rainfall chilling his skin.

"All the shivering, mate," Nate gestured to him. "Ye need to move...maybe jog on the spot...keep the blood pumpin'...else ye won't make it tae the end."

MacCready growled at him. "Can you stop patronizing me and just start the damn thing already!?”

Nate looked around the group, taking stock of each person involved. There was a gathering now, a relatively small crowd, but the amount of people willing to participate was surprising.

"Sir..."

Nate near on jumped out of his skin. "Where the blasted hell did you come from!?"

X6-88 lowered his sunglasses and blinked at him. "I arrived via relay at 1200 hours, sir. I was ensuring the young sir was adequately prepared for the festivities."

"Dad?” Shaun emerged from behind the courser.

"Shaun?" Nate was utterly confused. "What are you doing here?"

"Father heard you were hosting an event and thought I should attend," Shaun smiled.

The sight of him. Pajamas, Welly boots and a rain hat, standing beside X6-88 in his ...everything black bathing suit. MacCready's sides ached. He was laughing, unable to control the burst of hysteria that bubbled within him.

"Escaped synths will be shaking in their boots," MacCready managed to wheeze out.

"I believe Ms Curie has made an adequate fit for me... sir," X6-88 said in reply.

It was the boots, the damned combat boots! MacCready laughed louder.

"I do not believe you are in a position to be mocking me, Sir. If my calculations are correct, you have a higher chance of being affected by hypothermia due to your lack of body fat and muscle mass. Perhaps you should reconsider abstaining from the use of cigarettes and alcohol, it would improve your health immeasurably."

MacCready stopped laughing. "Did you just..."

"I believe the term is 'kicking while he's down,' sir."

"A'right...enough eh that." Nate stepped in.

If MacCready didn't know better, he'd have thought the courser was smirking at him from beneath those glasses.

"First things first," Nate opened the shed. "Take a couple rad-x tabs each...Codsworth is gonnae countdown from ten and ring the bell...when he does, ye run in. Simple as that. The last person out wins the prize. We've got fires burning, food grilling and booze on tap...so enjoy yerselves, aye?"

MacCready pulled his cap lower over his brow. This was going to suck.

"Let the games begin," Hancock shouted.

"Okay!" Nate announced. "Everyone in their positions. Codsworth, get ready to count us down, son!"

"As you wish Master Nate!" The Mr. Handy spun in place.

MacCready rolled his shoulders, trying to get the stiffness out of them. He could do this. He had to win. Five hundred caps were on the line.

The merc watched the crowd gather around the water's edge, everyone ready to make a break for it as soon as the robot started counting.

"Are we ready to commence the New Year's celebrations, sir?"

"Aye Codsworth." Nate smiled.

"Very good, sir. I shall begin the countdown now…Ten!"

This was it.

"Nine!"

MacCready bent his knees, ready to sprint.

"Eight!"

A quick glance left and right, and he noticed all the other competitors were doing the same.

"Seven!"

His eyes locked with Nate's, and the bastard winked at him.

"Six!"

Was he planning something?

"Five!"

The sniper shook his head.

"Four!"

He could beat Nate. He's hardy...grew up in a cave!

"Three!"

Focus, Robert. Just focus.

"Two!"

He was doing this for Duncan.

"Happy New Year, everyone! GO!!!”

He couldn't do this.

MacCready darted in the opposite direction as the rest of them.

"Ye wee bastard!" Nate shouted after him.

Fuck you, old man! He was out of there.

"Not on ma watch, laddie," Nate's footsteps pounded after him.

Shit, shit, shit.

"Stay the heck away from me!”

"Och, quit bein' such a rad-chicken!" Nate sped up.

MacCready's heart was racing, and he wasn't sure if it was from running or the adrenaline pumping through his veins. Either way, he needed to outrun the bastard.

"Ye're slowin' down!"

"Like hell I am!" MacCready shouted back at him.

Suddenly, there were arms wrapped around him.

"Got ye! Now intae the drink we go!" Nate lifted him off the ground and over his shoulders.

MacCready struggled in vain. "Put me down!"

"Not a chance! Ye're goan in!”

The world moved in slow motion. He could see Nate's feet running over the grass and dirt as he neared the water's edge. People were cheering, and dogs were barking.

"HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!"

Nate dove forward, releasing his grip on the merc, and they plunged into the icy cold waters below.

For a moment, MacCready floated through the murky depths. Then, he kicked upwards, breaking the surface of the water with a gasp.

"Fuck! Fuck! Fuck!" Duncan forgive him! MacCready flailed as the frigid temperature of the water hit him. "It's freezing!"

"Aye, it's a wee bit nippy," Nate said calmly, swimming beside him. "Just breathe...in and oot."

"Breathe!?" MacCready screamed at him. "I'd rather—holy shi--"

"See, now ye're gettin' it," the older man was grinning like a madman.

"I'm going to kill you!"

"No if ye freeze...flap yer haunds aboot a bit..."

"C'mon, Mac! Dad knows what he's talking about!” Shaun called from the bankside.

"Your father is insane!" MacCready pointed at the boy.

"Our father!" Shaun smiled and gave him a double thumbs up.

What?

"Get it together, son!" Nate splashed water in his face. "Ye can do this."

MacCready growled and splashed him back. "I hate you."

Nate laughed. "C'mon...I can tell ye're getting used to it."

"I hate you so much," he swung his arms forward, moving them through the water.

"Nah, ye don't...if ye did, ye wouldn't be here now," Nate swam close to him. "It's just water...it cannae hurt ye."

MacCready glared at him. "I'm not..."

"Course not...yer the toughest son of a bitch I know..."

"Tougher than you?"

Nate's grin grew wider. "Guess we'll see."

"Bring it on, Old Man," MacCready's shivering subsided as he kept moving.

"Enough eh the "old" talk..."

"You're over 200...that's old..."

"That doesny count..."

"Says who?"

"Says me!" Nate ducked under the water, and MacCready braced himself for the inevitable.

A sudden tug on his foot, and the merc dropped beneath the surface. The shock of cold hit him once more, and he clawed his way to the top.

Nate surfaced and shook his head like a dog, somehow the glasses on his fat head still stayed on.

"Fun, ain't it?"

"How are you not frozen?" MacCready was panting now.

"Been dookin' since I was a wee lad," Nate answered. "The cauld...it's in ma blood."

MacCready cursed under his breath. "Sure, whatever you say."

Nate just laughed in response. "Another one down..."

"Huh?"

"Seems Piper's given up."

MacCready glanced around. Sure enough, the reporter was making her way back to shore.

"She's smart," the merc remarked.

"Ye did good, lass!” Nate shouted after her.

"Thanks, Blue," she waved before wrapping herself in the towel Codsworth had waiting for her.

"Woo...goddang I can't feel my digits!" Jake's voice cut through the chill in the air.

"Here's hoping your tongue is next..." Aiden drawled.

MacCready chuckled at the snide remark.

"Ma chère, this is most invigorating!" Curie was just... standing there in the water.

"That's one way of putting it," Piper pulled the blanket tighter around her shoulders.

"I can't...I'm out...ye are all mad!” Cait finally relented.

"I have to agree with you," Preston shivered, retreating.

"As long as I outlast the Brotherhood's cheer squad...I'm a winner..." Deacon chittered next to Danse.

"My training has prepared me to withstand all manner of conditions...you should consider admitting defeat while you still can."

"Nah-uh, Tin Can," the spy retorted. "I once disguised myself as a snowman for six hours...wait till you hear where I placed the carrot..."

Danse just grunted at him.

"This is a rush!" Hancock stretched his arms above his head.

"You say that until your bits fall off," MacCready jested.

"How do you know mine haven't already?" Hancock teased him back.

"Ugh...why the hell am I here..." Aiden grumbled.

"Because Slick asked us to be...so quit your complainin'..." Jake answered.

"Ye alright, sweetheart?"

MacCready nearly swallowed a mouthful of water when he heard that. Sturges was staring right at him.

"I'm fi--fine!" he stammered.

"Yer shakin' like a leaf," the mechanic continued, sweeping back his wet hair.

"I'm just...cold...nothing I can't handle," the merc replied, trying not to stare.

"Well good luck to ya...I need a beer." Sturges swam past him, heading toward the bank.

"I'm with him on that one," Aiden followed.

MacCready gazed longingly at the shoreline. It was tempting. He could just give up now.

Nate smirked at him. "Don't ye dare..."

"I wasn't..." the merc lied.

"Sure ye weren't–”

"It appears something has entered my armor! I appear to have been compromised!" Danse's booming voice rang through the air.

"Nothin' in this water but us, big guy," Hancock called out.

"I can assure you, I am not mistaken! There is something alive inside my suit!"

The spy swam closer to him. "Maybe it's a bloatfly larvae...they like to burrow in wet organic materials..."

Danse froze. "What?"

Deacon tried not to laugh.

"I must terminate this creature immediately!" Danse was starting to panic.

"I shall accompany Monsieur Danse in his endeavor," Curie volunteered.

"I'm out...I'm not missing this! Thanks for the swim, guys." And with that, Deacon climbed out of the water.

"Fascinating...perhaps I should join them," X6-88 followed suit.

"I ain't missing this... Tapping out," Hancock was next.

And then there were three.

"How're ye feelin'?”

"Fine..." MacCready answered.

"Naw really, how are ye feelin'?" Nate asked again.

"I feel...alive," the merc admitted.

"Ye still cold?"

"Too numb to tell..."

Nate let out a belly laugh at that. "That's the spirit."

"Slick?" Jake was shivering now. "I think I'm at my limit."

"Aye...let's get ye warmed up and some scran in ye," Nate agreed.

MacCready watched them climb out of the water. Nate gathered up a blanket from Codsworth and slung it over the pair of them.

"Ye coming, lad? Or do I need tae send Strong in tae get ye?"

MacCready watched them for a moment, Nate's arm resting protectively around the engineer's waist as they walked back toward the common area.

He...he won?

"Yeah...I'm coming..."

"Well done Master MacCready! A stupendous display!” Codsworth greeted him as he clambered out of the lake.

"Thanks, Codsworth," MacCready replied.

The Mr. Handy draped the blanket over his shoulders. "Come now, you must be famished after all that excitement."

"I'm starving..."

Nate rested his head on Jacob's shoulder, fresh clothes and a warm fire and an assortment of familiar faces, it was the perfect way to spend New Years.

"I hope everyone enjoyed themselves today," he said softly.

"You know I did, Blue," Piper replied as she sipped her hot chocolate.

"Me too!" Shaun sat cross-legged on the floor with Dogmeat's head in his lap. "This place is pretty great!”

"Indeed sir," X6-88 agreed. "The festivities were quite enjoyable."

"Oh it was most enjoyable indeed, Monsieur! Perhaps we could participate in this 'dooken' again next year." Curie leaned into Cait's side.

"Ye can count me in!" Cait kissed her on the forehead.

"What are you gonna call him?” Hancock asked, his chin propped up by his hand.

"Call who?" Nate frowned.

"His Stowaway," the ghoul said, nodding to the bundle in Danse's arms.

"My desire is to call him Cutler...but I fear I may not be able to adequately tame him..."

"Cutler is a fine name for a Mirelurk," Preston reassured him.

'I think so too," Hancock agreed.

"This is fascinating. I have never observed a juvenile hatchling in this state before," Curie commented as she peered over Danse's arm. "He is so well behaved!"

"These creatures are normally quite aggressive...but this one...I find it...endearing." Danse admitted.

"I know that feeling," Hancock smirked.

MacCready shifted in Beau's embrace, stretching his legs out in front of him before settling into the comfortable warmth surrounding him.

"Happy New Year," he yawned.

"Happy New Year," Sturges echoed, pulling him closer.

An array of voices replied with similar sentiments.

It made Nate proud. Somehow in the midst of chaos, they found each other, and despite the differences they once shared, the prejudices they had held, he brought them together. He only hoped it would be enough to see them through whatever the Wastes would throw at them next.

Nate leaned over and kissed Jake on the cheek. "Welcome tae the family."

Between Us Episode 11 Commentary and Review

Damn, but these boys are bringing me to my knees. So with the chaos of yesterday. I watched the show but didn't do a review. But I also didn't want to skip it totally. So here we go.

"You're such a good person. Too good and you make me afraid. I'm afraid that when you make me feel special...It is, in fact...you're just being like this to everyone." This fucking killed me, guys. Slayed me. I'm going to give you correct subs in this next bit because there are differences. "I'm afraid, Hia. I'm afraid that It's just all in my head. You know me better than anyone. You know what I like. And what I don't like. But I'm a piece of shit, I only know your coffee order." So Team is actually telling Hia why he can't be mad at him for not wanting to be his boyfriend. He is saying that he realizes he isn't good enough. Go sob, I know I am. That's when we see Win break down. Like fuck. These boys kill me!!! Also, when Team asks "can we at least try" That should have been subbed as "But whatever it is, if Hia, you think it isn't the right time yet, can I try first, Hia?" Finally, Finally! They are communicating. They both tell each other that they love each other. "You're crying like a baby." Um, Win. Have you seen your face? Then he goes on to raz each other about being off tune. Same Team, same.

Sexy time! Maybe it's the music, but there seems to be a gentleness that wasn't there before. It's in the way they stay close as they shed clothes. This is much more love making than just sex. There is still that Dominance from Win, but it's softer. If you're wondering in what way he is showing Dominance, just watch the hand placement. It's not about who is on top, it's about who is in control.

I love that they were holding hands where anyone could see until the friend group. Which all know about them. I'm not really sure what you are nervous about Team, but I like that Win is upset but not pushy.

This brat and Brat Tamer were made for each other. No joke. That parking lot argument was too cute. "Wait up boyfriend!" 🤣🤣🤣 This whole episode is nothing but mush, and I'm loving it!

I adore that we see several different couples. Those that really do up valentine, and then you have the crazy couple. Their love is just as solid, but they are more casual. Don't hate me, people, but the broccoli scene was just okay. It didn't hit the feels the way the original broccoli scene did.

I've started to like the brother and eyebrows. Bro, you got to forgive eyebrows. He's a good guy. Then we get more love and support from WinTeam in the hospital. I love how Team tells Win to take his time, that he is by his side. Then we flash to Win dropping Team off and Team pushes all anxiety aside to support his boyfriend. I love it! This is someone who really knows what's important.

The whole forgiveness scene makes me really uncomfortable. Like I was enjoying it until the kneeling point. I think it's because I feel like the father is more at fault? In a D/s relationship, a submissive would not kneel before their Dom if the Dom fucks up. So I think that's where my feelings are coming from.

you talk a lot about how tom and z have that glow with each other (or idk how you specifically put it into words, but just that you can really tell that they are meant to be together).

now that the topic is brought up with olivia and austin, ik you right them off as a fling and just costars. it could just be me, but the way they both just lit up with each other. some of their interviews will always be in my mind, like the way olivia was always so breathless near him or the way austins face would turn beat red after she would compliment him. they were always joking around taking the joke farther then it needed to be bc they wanted to see each other laugh.

ik he's with kaia now and they are so adorable, but i do miss whatever olivia and austin had! (hopefully this doesn't sound too weird or crazy haha)

Tomdaya definitely have a certain special SOMETHING that I don't see with most celebrity couples today (just being honest!).

Re: Austin/Olivia.... Auslivia?

I know some fans were really shipping them hard during the Elvis era when the film first came out and they were doing press with one another. But to me they have always just seemed more like friends? 🤷🏾‍♀️

I'll be honest, I never got any deep, strong chemistry btwn them. I didn't even really sense THAT much chemistry btwn them in the "Elvis" movie tbh. 🫣

Maybe it's just me? 🤷🏾‍♀️

I'm pretty sure they probably had some type of short-lived filming fling going on during "Elvis" (it WAS covid after all.... and we WERE in lock down for months going stir crazy rofl 🤣), but I never got the impression that they were anything serious or that Olivia was anything more than a rebound/ fling. We never even saw them hanging out with each other outside of filming/work reasons.

BTW, Austin's face turns beet red anytime anyone compliments him rofl 🤣 (he's more of a "Shy Guy"), so I'm not sure that's just due to Olivia lol. 😅

But it's not surprising if fans (like yourself) still ship them.... I think that's just par for the course when it comes to costars who play love interests sometimes. 🤷🏾‍♀️

I personally don't ship actors together if they're in serious rlshps with other ppl. I may say that two actors look "cute" together, or think that two actors have awesome "chemistry" with each other, but I'm not claiming that two actors are cheating on their SOs with each other, or getting busy combing the internet looking for "signs" ("Omg did you see the way they looked at each other for 2.5 seconds?!!?!??") that two costars are secretly madly in love with each other and their significant others are none the wiser lol. That's just weird to me. 🥴

I'm not much of a big "shipper" of relationships just in general though. 🤷🏾‍♀️ Tomdaya is a huge exception lol. 😅

(Posting this one here, ‘cause it has a few short OC trivia moments, if you're curious)

I was tagged by @eve-to-adam, so here we go! It might get long, so buckle up for the ride. 😂

1. How many works do you have?

I couldn't tell you a number, because I've had multiple stories over the years. Some were short comics for semester projects I had to do back in uni, others were WIPs I started and abandoned, others are ongoing personal storytelling projects I'm working on at the moment.

2. What fandoms do you write for?

I don’t really write for any fandom right now, I prefer to focus on my own, original stories and OCs. But I wouldn’t put that idea past me entirely, with the way my hyperfixations work, you just never know. 😂

3. What are your top 5 stories by kudos?

I don't really want to make a top, but some of my favorites include a few short stories I wrote for Project Paranormal, which is a shared universe I'm co-creating with Andreea (@eve-to-adam) and about which I'll be talking about at Question 9.

4. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

Absolutely I do! I even went to war with the “promote it on ->” bots on Instagram at one point, by replying with passive-aggressive comments, so. 🤣 Jokes aside, people who take their time to interact with my work and express their support mean the world to me, and I’m incredibly grateful to have them around. And those who even come back regularly? You deserve the world and I love ya 🥹✨

5. What’s the story you wrote with the angstiest ending?

Hmm… Depends what you'd consider “angsty”. I guess one that could count would be a short, horror graphic novel I've done for uni. One of the main characters dies, while the other ends up in a mental institution, unsure whether the previous events truly happened or not, but haunted by some… otherworldly things that tend to suggest everything has, in fact, happened. I wouldn't necessarily see it as angsty per se, because that was never the aim when I wrote that ending, but it’s the only one I could think of.

6. What’s the story you wrote with the happiest ending?

Do on-going storylines whose development I know, count? Whatever, I’ll pretend they count. 🤣

I would say one of the happiest ones would be Hubert and Dolly's relationship (two of my OCs from Project Paranormal). Even though they didn't start on the best of terms, they ended up progressively discovering they actually... enjoyed each other's company, once they started chatting like, you know, normal people who weren't looking for a silly argument just for the sake of it. Because that's what they were doing in the beginning; their personalities clashed in a way that turned all their encounters into a match of "who annoys who first". To the point where they couldn't even remember what was the precise starting point of that whole thing. 😂 But then, little by little, once they started opening up, they both fell for each other pretty damn hard. Their relationship was obviously not gonna be without any hardship, because they both had their own flaws and things to work through (especially Hubert), but they found a tremendous amount of love and support in each other. They realized they simply… get each other, you know, on a level they couldn’t have anticipated, but which was there to last for a lifetime! So yeah, they’re definitely getting their happy ending. :D

7. Do you get hate on stories?

Not that I’m aware of. And even if I did, I wouldn’t… really care that much? ‘Cause I’m not writing for them haters, lemme tell you. 😂

8. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

I like to depict sex and intimacy in my stories, so yeah, my writing kinda covers that stuff too. I usually prefer to go with the flow in those instances and see where the scene is taking me, in terms of description. Whether it’s gonna get more explicit or it’s gonna be a “fade to black” thing, depends entirely on the moment itself. I also like to be as character-centered as possible in my approach (which applies to every aspect of my storytelling, for that matter). I wanna take into consideration each character’s relationship with sex and intimacy, when I’m describing them; slight nuances to convey the moment in the same way each character is experiencing it, you know. What things they like, how they like them, how they communicate with partners etc. Like, take Delicia for example (my OC from Project Paranormal): she’s an experienced gal who likes to be creative in the bedroom (and outside) and is slightly more into the rough side of physical love, so depictions might get more blunt and slightly more explicit in her case. But at the same time, it wasn’t always like that, was it? Because she, like everyone else, had her own starting point, her own journey with intimacy and self discovery. And I want to capture that feeling as I’m writing her character. I want to capture that feeling with all of my OCs; I’m always trying my best to write as naturally as I can, to make the story really feel as if it’s a close look into one’s life and experiences. The spicy scenes are no exception to that! :D Now, whether I’m successful in this approach or not, is a completely different topic, but that’s beside the point. 😂

9. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?

Not necessarily, but I do have one ongoing storytelling project that could technically count. It's a shared universe I'm co-creating with my friend, Andreea (@eve-to-adam). For the sake of this post I code named it “Project Paranormal” because it pops up for some other questions.

It's basically a story that revolves around two main families (Marlowe, written and created by me, and Elkins, written and created by Andreea) and their lives, as well as extra folks like friends, lovers, their pets etc. It's a romance meets supernatural (there are ghosts, ghouls n’ curses) meets historical fiction (it spans over the entire 20th century and goes until present day) meets drama type of story, with slice of life sprinkled all over. The slice of life aspect is kinda my favourite, because I generally enjoy writing the everyday experiences of my characters, those that don't necessarily tie into a specific plot point; like some sort of a “fly on the wall” approach. The story has a main plot, of course, and a main timeline of events, but under that we're essentially having fun with all sorts of storylines and moments. Right now I would say it's an open format story/universe, meaning we're drawing/writing different out-of-order parts and tidbits, but ultimately they all tie into that main timeline and plot we've set. So, at the end of the day, the story can always be put together chronologically, into a graphic novel type of format.

Ah shit, I almost forgot. The “crazy” bit about it (Andreea mentioned it in her own post as well) is that it all kinda started from a bunch of sims we created in Sims 4 one day. We were simply chatting and having a laugh about it and then we went “🤨…🤔” and bam! here we are today, with a bunch of Marlowe and Elkins generations and their storylines. 😂 ❤️

10. Have you ever had a story stolen?

Either I haven't OR the thief is hiding exceptionally well, I can’t tell. 😂

11. Have you ever had a story translated?

Does self translation count? 😂 If so, then yeah. I usually write in my native language, but I translate into English once I decide to post some of it online. The funny thing is, the English translation actually improves the writing in some cases (specifically the dialogues!), because I have some English, Irish and Scottish peeps amongst my OCs, and in their case I can play with things like slang, accents, cussing etc, which gives a more natural vibe to their conversations (and is kinda fun to work on).

12. Have you ever co-written a story before?

I’m currently doing that with Project Paranormal (see Question 9)! :D

13. What’s your all-time favourite ship?

— Aragorn&Arwen from The Lord of The Rings, always! They're probably one of my oldest ships, too, and they will always hold that special place in my heart. Aaand they’re definitely the reason why, to this day, I have a big thing for elf+human couples in fiction. XD

— Bill&Frank from The Last Of Us (show version), because people finding their lil’ corner of love and happiness in a dying world?? Hell yes, all the yes! 🥺

14. What’s a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?

Hmm… There is this one fantasy story I've been trying to put together for the past 2 years or so, but at the moment I kind of lost my passion for it. I tried to rethink and revive it in 2023 and it worked for a while, but ultimately I put it back on the shelf again, at least for now. In a way I wish I will regain that passion to continue, because I have some characters there whose stories I'd still like to tell, but right now I don't see it happening. Besides, I have other story ideas I want to test (and possibly pursue) right now. But who knows? Maybe one day?

15. What are your writing strengths?

Okay I totally suck at identifying my own strengths, lmao. 😂 But let's give it a try. I would like to think I'm good at allowing my characters to shape the language I'm writing with, instead of me shaping the language for them. I always love when, in literature, dialogues sound like things people would say in real life, or when the writing imitates the manner of speech people use on a daily basis (one of the reasons why I like Stephen King’s writing style, for example). I strike to achieve the same in my stories, so I give my OCs the freedom of talking in their own, individual ways.

16. What are your writing weaknesses?

I tend to write too slowly for my own liking. I'm also a bit of a scatterbrained type of writer; let's say I write a certain scene, when suddenly I wanna jump to a totally different one. Nothing wrong with that, of course! But in my case, at the end of the day, I either end up in a writer’s void and I can't write for either scene anymore, OR I constantly switch back and forth between them and I can't concentrate on either one. Sucks to be me sometimes. 😅 But I'm trying to improve this in myself, so let's hope for the best!

17. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a story?

It’s a pretty cool thing and I like seeing it in stories. It's a concept I'd like to play with, too. For example, some of my characters from Project Paranormal have Portuguese ancestry and speak the language: Delicia was taught by her mum, Dolly, and by grandpa Thomas (Dolly's father). I'd like to think Dolly and her lil’ lass would frequently switch to chatting in Portuguese, during Delicia's formative years, which helped her learn the language and become fluent (and later on in life, Delicia will do the same with her own daughter). So, naturally, I'd love to have at least a glimpse of those conversations in the story as well! :D However, I will have to rely on the mighty internet to help me with that, because I don't know any Portuguese. XD

18. First fandom you wrote for?

Ooooh, you’re digging up very old memories with that one. I think the first fandom I ever attempted to write for was InuYasha, an anime I watched and enjoyed back in the day, when I was a bit more into the anime scene. But you can imagine how that went, considering I was like 12 years old or something like that. 😂

19. Favourite story you’ve ever written?

The most recent one I did. It's called “By The Alley” and it's a short story from Project Paranormal that features two of my OCs: Hubert and Paddy. I like the story flow I managed to capture there and I feel like I'm finally finding my writer voice, so to speak. I also had a lot of fun writing their dialogues! Both Hubert and Paddy were born and raised in Leeds, West Yorkshire (although Paddy has Irish heritage) and they are “raised by the streets” kinda guys. The way they speak reflects that pretty well, so I had fun trying to put some of those nuances in their speech. And the cussing, I loved writing the cussing. I discovered this to be a very odd pleasure of mine, writing people who curse. 😂 And Hubert's definitely the right person for that, because the man has no filter whatsoever (with Delicia being a close second – like father, like daughter, am I right?). 😂

Another week, another episode of unhinged silliness and kink! And judging by the preview I've seen, this episode is gonna get spicy~ ✨

And we're starting off with a barbecue, my German heart is happy (I really need to clean my grill for that Angrillen tradition!)

Yes, J'Belle, tell us all the gossip~ Oh, a new name! Poom it is? Well, he goes right onto my Love Syndrome/Unforgotten Night character chart. I'm making one rn, cause maybe maybe I'll be able to remember who is friends with whom and who is an ex-boyfriend and... let's just say, I've only started yesterday and it's already a mess lol

Jealous Itt is jealous and Day loves it! In fact, Day loves it so much, he's willing to make the ultimate sacrifice. Oh my... Day ate well that night

Barely 10 minutes into the episode and it's already sexy time again~ Yeah, this ep is giving. Imagine if all amnesia cases could be solved with some good old humping in the sheets. The doctors would be jobless lol

On a side note: Is that Frank's real tattoo or a sticker? Hmm... I think I need to take a closer look. For science (Update: Yep, it's a real tattoo ^^)

And suddenly we're in a serious conversation about love vs using someone to satisfy their needs. Well, it is an important question Itt is asking here

New drinking game just dropped: Every time someone eats cake, you have to drink a shot!

That fortune teller is my new spirit animal "Hit him with a stick and his memory will return" WHY?! 😂 (also, I have a feeling there was a raunchy joke in there that got lost in translation. Something something long hard sticks...)

Oh no! There is a lurking shadow behind Day and Itt that will cause trouble? Who is it? Who keeps calling Itt from an unknown number? I need to know!

Aha! So the creepy guy is actually Pee! But did they really name the kid "Pee"? Really? Or is this another translation error. For the actors and character's sake, I really hope it's an error...

Anyway... Suddenly there's a flashback and guns and drama! So Pee is mafia as well or had a crush on Itt and wanted to get rid of Day or? I'm confused 😅

Flashback time again~ This time it's Itt bike racing. He actually used to be a little badass. Now he's a softie who only eats cake. See kids, this is what love does to a man lol

Day really needs to learn how to chill. Maybe he should pick up yoga or makramee or something

Noooo! Itt don't run onto the race track! Don't be stupid now, boy! ...And of course he is stupid, ah... 🤦‍♀️ Tbh Itt kind of deserved that punch

Awkward silence while Itt storms off and everyone else just stands around. Yeah, I've been in that situation before. It's super uncomfortable when friends of yours are a couple and they fight in front of you. Best strategy in my opinion is to quietly escape to the loo (the bathroom, an introverts best friend 🤗)

Also, another drinking game just dropped: Every time a group of guys stands awkwardly around Day or Itt, you have to drink two shots! Bonus round, if there's cake involved

Omg is Day going to cry?! He totally looks like he's going to cry. Aww, poor baby... Nope, never mind. Day decided that he'd rather break his arm again than to shed a single manly tear. Oh my

Ohhhh! Night is back, my sweet boy 🥰 He's so cute

And Night and Gear are once again the ones who have to fix Itt's and Day's relationship *le sigh*

"If you feel tired, how about running away?" Oh Night, I like you! Yes, Itt should totally go on a vacation, that boy really needs a break. Day can deal with his anger issues alone for all I care

And Itt is gone~ Can I just say that I love how both Gear and Night are so angry at Day? You go tell him, boys! Hehe (even though it looks like Gear almost get's drowned by Day in the next ep, it's still worth it 😌)

Alright, that's it for this episode! Next episode we'll get a new love interest for Itt, Day will have another temper tantrum and almost kills his brother-in-law and Night will be a lil cutie as always. So stay tuned~

Because I want to make this list and it's my birthday (May 3rd) so I can do what I want!

I heard about the Donkey Spin off Dreamworks is thinking of making. Here's a list of characters that I would love to get their own spin-off, short film, or at the very least more screen time.

Characters I think would work for a short film.

Donkey🐴 Shrek

I don't mind the thought of his own film, but I feel like it would turn into another Cars 2 situation. The comedic side character that everyone thinks is dumb and useless. But the character is actually useful in their own way. There is nothing wrong with the comedic side character, as long as they have someone who can compliment that personality. Someone who can react to that characters comedic moments. Otherwise, it doesn't work. Think of every moment Donkey was funny. Why was it funny? Because their was always someone there to react. The boulder and waffle lines only worked because Shrek was there to compliment the joke. So, a stand-alone film with Donkey wouldn't work UNLESS he had other characters to compliment his jokes. If they're gonna go the prequel route, they're gonna have to add in new characters that'll help compliment Donkeys comedic side. Especially a serious character. Think of Jack Sparrow and Will Turner from Pirate's of the Caribbean. Jack's funny moments were balanced out by the rest of the casts reactions. Will is waiting for Jack and sees him running across the beach. His reaction, happiness. Then the army behind Jack appears, Wills reaction? Time to go. Same for Jack's grand first appearance. It was funny on its own and even funnier when the gaurds looked at him weird for it.

So I'm not against a Donkey film because it can work if you surround that character with the right characters. But it can go downhill if the chemistry between the characters doesn't work out.

Toothless🐉HTTYD

I would like a short film about him. Like, him learning how to be independent from Hiccup after How To Train Your Dragon 3. Starting his new life and adapting as the new leader. Plus, his new family. But in the style of Dreamworks Spirit. How Spirit had no dialog, but they did have a narration going on. And told a story through the animals' movements and facial expressions. I can't see this as a full-length film, though, so that's why I said short film. Like a documentary styled 30-minute film. The same way they gave Tigress a 30-minute film. Something like that, just to give us a little story of Toothless life after he left Hiccup.

Circus Trio 🎪Madagascar

Little short film for the cicus gang in the 3rd film, Vitaly, Stephano, and Gia. The thing is, they have a lot of chemistry together but not much screen time. And it's that chemistry that's intriguing me. You can tell the moment their introduced that they have a found family relationship. Vitaly is baiscally an older brother. The traditionalist, protective, suspicious of newcomers, and the one everyone looks up to. Stefano feels like the baby brother of the three. He's so bubbly, naive, and cheerful. The first to trust the zoo gang. Gia feels like a combination of the two, the middle child. Definitely has Vitalys skepticism and protectiveness while having Stephos bubbly and naive personality. The girl slammed herself against a pole on purpose! Because the guy she was skeptical of did it first! 😂 If they weren't different species, I would've thought they were blood related. 11 year old me was convinced they were brothers and sister despite being different species! 🤣 But why? Did the three grow up together in the circus? Were they born and raised there? Did they come into the circus one by one with different back stories, and if so, why and how? How did Vitaly even discover that he can go through tiny hoops? Was he being reckless as a kid and went through one on accident? And then their relationship with the rest of the circus. "Circus always sticks together." They care about the others, and it's that dynamic that I love. Maybe it's the theater kid in me because everyone in that class acted like siblings, and it's just beautiful.

The reason I say this would work as a short film is because of their story. Their story can work as a full-length film. A famous circus, exploring new places, meeting new people, winning competitions, and then meeting their downfall when their star gets to cocky. Sounds interesting and could work for a film. Seeing them slowly lose passion for their hobbies and going into a slump or a form of depression. But their story doesn't get resolved until the zoo gang come in. Meaning their story would have a tragic or the very least a bitter sweet ending. And that doesn't fit the Madagascar environment. Unless they take a Last Wish route. What I mean is, the Puss in Boots films feel very different than the Shrek films. Puss in Boots was much more mature and serious. Which made his films stand out and work. So yeah, short film unless they take a mature and serious path. Away from the usal Madagascar vibe.

Charaters that I feel can go either way. Short film or a full-length movie.

Death ☠️ The Last Wish

I feel like this can go either way, but he deserves the spotlight. I want to see his reactions to different deaths. Because being death can't be easy. He probably witnessed children die. Babies dying in their parents' arms, animals being killed, or innocent lives being unfairly taken away. And there's no way Puss was the only soul he wanted to take. I'm sure he's taken matters into his own hands and killed off other jerks. And he's probably seen souls beg him to stay alive, I mean, look at him here!

"Everyone thinks they'll be the one to defeat me. But no one has escaped me yet."

He says this in such a sad tone, and his expression matches just that. He probably has memories of souls struggling in his grasp. Souls that keep trying to escape and sob for mercy. Heck, maybe he's experienced children begging him to stay alive and return to their parents. But rules are rules. He has to take the souls to the afterlife no matter what. This can work as a short film, show us a day to day experience of what it's like to be death. How he treats each death differently depending on who's dying.

Or it could be a full-length film if done right. How was Death made? Was he just created when the universe was created? If so, it would be cute to see a more innocent Death trying to figure out his job. Experiencing his first death and realising what it means to be Death. Or maybe it's like a job. Think of Jack Frost from Legen of the Guardians. He was gifted his role by a greater entity. Maybe it's the same for Death. Maybe he was a mortal with a normal life, an accident happened, he died, and he was chosen to take over this role by Death before him. Maybe it's a job you pass down. That would make an interesting story. What makes someone worthy of being Death? As we know, Death in The Last Wish values life to the point where someone like Puss wasting multiple lives gets him aggravated. If we go this route, maybe when he was mortal, he experienced tons of deaths. So he grew up valuing his own life and others. Heck, give him a tragic back story! His whole village and family died from a natural disaster or an attack. And he values life more because of it! I feel like this would at least be an interesting film.

Perrito ⭐️The Last Wish

I can see him getting a short film. A small montage of his owners throwing him out and him returning. It can be a tragic comedy. Once his owners get tired of him, they try to drown him. He gets out and tries to find his way back to them. On his little journey, he can try to make friends on the streets, but they all reject him for being too annoying. He keeps searching for his owners until he lands at Mama Lunas. A little short story of how he ended up at Lunas.

Or a full-length film. Start it off when he's a puppy trying to play with his litter mates. Imagine how the drowing scene would play out, pretty tragic. And end it when he finds Mama Lunas home. It seems simple, yes, but if there's one thing many people love, it is dog stories about dogs trying to find their home. And many times, those stories make us cry. And I'm sure Perritos' story will have us crying. Why does he want to be a therapy dog? Getting into therapy isn't something someone picks just because. A lot of times, therapist have their own personal reasons to being therapists. And something I noticed about Perrito is that he isn't stupid. He recognizes a panic attack when he sees one. How? The way he helps Goldie realize she has a family. How? If he was oblivious to what his owners did, he would still consider them his family and still be searching for them. But he isn't looking for his old owners and recognizes a healthy family dynamic. Same for Kitty. He recognizes that she has trust issue's and helps her. HOW!?

How does this puppy know what panic attacks look like, when someone has trust issues and the difference between a toxic and healthy family? If he was oblivious to what happened to him, he wouldn't know any of these things! I'll tell you how, HE KNOWS!!! He clearly knows his "family" tried to kill him. He knows what being close to death is like and what trust issues are like. He most likely found a way to heal from these wounds by himself while he was alone on the streets. And now he wants to help others heal from their wounds. Hence why he wants to be a therapist.

You can't deny that a film about an abused puppy learning to heal from his emotional wounds while surviving on the streets would have people in a crying mess.

Characters that 100% deserve their own film! Telling you right now that these charaters are animated royalty, so bow down!!!

Diane Foxington 🦊 Bad Guys

Come on! The Crimson Paw!!! The world's most dangerous and #1 bad guy living in the shadows, retiring in favor for a redemption, using her skills to help her community by becoming the governor, all because she didn't want to land into societies stereotypes about her and do good for once. "I'm still me, just me on a better path."

I live by this line! I was raised in a sexist/racist/homophobic and even criminal household, so imagine how messed up I was in middle school and high school until I joined theater. After theater, I came onto a better path, and I still wonder if I'm still the same me I was in the past. Yes, I am still me, same personality, but on a better path.

Diane is 100% a role model and deserves a film of her own. How did she become The Crimson Paw? Did she also have criminal friends? Did they turn good like her or stay as criminals? The angst! What if she did leave her criminal friends behind in favor of a better life? The opposite of what Wolf experienced. At least for him, his friends turned good like him and are gonna fight crime from now on. But Diane looks like she's alone. No way she didn't have criminal friends, too, where are they? Did they refuse to turn good, and she had to leave them? Now, that would be tragic.

What was her path from bad to good like? Because you don't just decide to turn good on the spot. She must have experienced some things that led to her making that decision.

And I'm 100% sure with the message of this film, Diane faced a lot of backlash or "racist" comments as she ran for governor. (I just have to add in my head canon, I imagine her as a black woman because of this and her VA.) Especially in a society mostly made of humans. That would be an interesting moment in a film. Especially since this is an issue in real life. People of color who run for office have to face a lot of racism. It's just how it is. And I know Dreamworks would love to make fun of politics. They almost made Shrek 2 a political film about Pinocchio vs Gingy.

You have this badass character with a grand past that would make a great film. Just saying. It can be a prequel to Bad Guys or set after she met The Bad Guys. Like her past comes back to haunt her situation. I just need her to have her own film.

Kitty Soft Paws 🐾 Puss in Boots / The Last Wish

Same as Diane! Interesting past!! And not just that, there's the whole declawing incident. She's one of the best disabled characters on the list with Hiccup and Toph from The Last Air Bender. Her disability is a part of her, and she makes it work to her own advantage. And I just feel like that adds a lot to her character. So much that it can be its own scene in a film. About her past when she was born on the streets before being taken in by new parents. Only for them to disabled her later on, and she is left asking why. What did she do to deserve this? I'm 100% on board for a story about a disabled woman learning how to survive on her own in the streets. Especially since this is a form of animal abuse. Owners declaw their cats, leave them behind, and leave them defenseless. And around 90% of the time, those cats die. Which would be interesting to see in Kitty's story. What if she did see Death while she was alone on the streets? And lost one of her lives because of her disability? That's why she values her nine lives more than Puss. She knows how valuable they are.

Did she have friends on the streets? Or in that household she used to live in? I would love to see her have friend's on the streets only for them to betray her just like she says in The Last Wish. What if she was friends with that hamster, but she accidentally hurt them, and that's why she was declawed. What if her friends on the streets were the ones who led her into a life of crime? They taught her how to survive but later on sell her out and betray her. This can answer how she ends up in a life of loneliness and crime.

And that's all we know about her past. What about all the adventures she had before meeting Puss? Heck, she's Mexican, so how did she even end up from Mexico to Spain? Did her owners move? Did she travel herself? How did she end up working for Humpty Dumty? We can have a film about her that includes Puss too, it doesn't have to be a prequel. Or it can be a sequal to The Last Wish where she meets an ex freind or ex partner from her past.

And let's not forget that segregation also exists in her universe. Fairytale animals seem to get a lot of hate and face discrimination. As shown in the 1st Shrek film. So maybe that also plays a part in why she became a thief. Life just doesn't role her way. Like Wolf said in The Bad Guys.

"These were cards we were dealt with, so we might as well play them."

Goldielocks 🐻The Last Wish

The story of Goldielocks in The Last Wish is super cute and wholesome. Her relationship with the bears is too adorable, and I just want to join in their group hugs! But I need more!!! She's a run away orphan who became a criminal and joined a thieving family by breaking into their house, but they still adopted her!!! That format already sounds like a great story! It's just begging to be written!!! I want to see the adventures they went on, I want more cute family dynamics, I want more Baby vs Goldie sibling dynamics, I want more of everything!!! Her past would be so interesting. Why is she a perfectionist? Does it have to do with the orphanage she grew up in? Was her orphanage abusive and she had to escape it through imagination? Thinking about a family that would love and care for her? That be so interesting! Living in a poor orphanage that treats their kids harshly. Causing the kids to develop different traits like loneliness, attention seeking, or in Goldie's case, perfectionist. She could find comfort in fairytale books and dream about a family every night. Or maybe she was such a perfectionist because no one would adopt her. Thinking she's too demanding and needy. So she did everything in her power to be perfect for the best family. But no one would adopt her despite her efforts. So that's why she escaped, if no perfect family will adopte her, then she'll go find them herself. Because there has to be someone that'll love her for who she is, right? Now, the orphanage is searching for her, but Goldielocks is too slippery and learns how to survive the streets and develop thieving skills. Leading to her finding the bears.

I would also love to see a film about her adventures with her bear family set after The Last Wish. What kinds of adventures did they have?

Her concept just creates this blank page that is begging to be written on!!! Goldies personality just screams main character energy. Her confidence, her anger, her passion, her feistiness, she belongs in a main character role!

Tigress ☯️Kung Fu Panda

*Takes in deep breath!!!*

Yeah, I'm not retyping all that. 😅 The post is about how she's such a well written female character. And a character like her just deserves to have the spotlight.

But some things I haven't said! We already have her back story of how she came to the Jade Palace and met the five. But what if we go further back? Like where does her biological family come from? We don't see any other tigers around either. Why was she left at the orphanage? Was her biological family in trouble? Could they not take care of her, or did they really not want their daughter. The only way I could see a film about her happening is if we continue the story wherever Kung Fu Panda leaves off. Set if after Kung Fu Panda 4 and have Po and Tigress switch roles. What I mean is this. Po has been going on a self-discovery adventure, and by his side was Tigress. She was always there for him emotionally, physically, and even spiritually. Making sure he was ok and going through his troubles the best and healthiest way he could. Who says Po can't do the same for her? Tigress can have her own story, and Po can tag along the same way she did in his story. He can be there for her and make sure she's ok as well. They just work so well together! I mean, LOOK AT THEM!!!

Beautiful dynamic!!!

I just feel like a film focusing on her would be great and come on! She deserves it! She's not just a badass warrior. She's a badass warrior who's also shy and sweet towards the ones she loves. Especially towards Po.

And I feel like this would make such a great metaphor for the Yin and Yang. She was there for him, and now he can be there for her. They have similar pasts. They're both orphans who were left behind for an unknown reason, or at least to Tigress, it's unknown while Po already found the answer. They both have a bond with their father figuers and try to do everything to make them happy. Po got to deepen his relationship with his adoptive father, and I would love to see Tigress do the same with Shifu.

Again, this would add a lot to their yin and yang metaphor. Similar pasts, but they still have personalities that are as different as night and day. Yet, when you put the two together, they work in harmony and balance each other out. In other words, GIVE TIGRESS THE SPOT LIGHT SO SHE CAN SHINE JUST LIKE PO ALREADY!!!! Their relationship will not be 100% balanced until they both get equal treatment!!!

But yeah! This is my list of characters that I believe deserve their own film or at least a little more attention. Any final thoughts from me? Not really, just that this took me a whole day to write. 😅 What a way to spend my birthday. I didn't even get to finish this on my birthday. 🤣 May 3rd was my birthday.
