#how Kote becomes Cody

My two favourite HCs for how Kote becomes Cody that I use in my stories and bounce between…
1) Rex loses some teeth either in training or because he’s that age and can’t pronounce Kote with the lisp and everyone just jumps on that and it sticks but it was Rex’ika so Cody doesn’t mind.
2) Jango names him Kote out of love but when the Kaminoans realised Jango was too attached to the clones and reconned him, Cody was furious. As the weight of now being the eldest and having to look after his batch who are all also grieving losing their Buir piles up he just refuses to be that liars glory. He’s so betrayed because Buir said he loved them and nothing could stop that but the Kaminoans and Tyranus did and now he’s gone and Cody had to keep everyone on track.
Or 3) both. He doesn’t want to be Kote anymore and then Rex says Cody and that replaces it.

Watch "Time lapse Dandelion flower to seed head" on YouTube
youtube
Watching this time lapse of of a dandelion and thinking about Cody and this post from @existentialscientist .
Imagining Cody stuck in service to the Empire after Order 66 -- slowly shrinking in on himself and becoming bitter over the years.
Swiftly growing bristled and gray from the accelerated aging.
Finally getting fed up with the Empire's osik and ready to scatter seeds of rebellion.
@whymylifewrites Thank you for the tag on the Cody and Dandelions post. In return, come get some "Sad Cody Headcannon". I'm so sorry. T-T

He remembers the day he was first called Kote.
The pride had swelled in his chest so much he smiled, a real smile as vod alike hugged him after they were allowed to rest after a brutal day of training. Sure, his nose was broken and still bloodied, but the adrenaline of being named was enough to drown out the pain as he and his brothers celebrated with stolen rations and a drink of unspoken origin.
Kote remembers the day his name changes to Cody, hidden under the title of Commander as the war begins.
He's not sure why it has to change, but figures the Jetti they now finally serve don't understand the name. The one called Kenobi hadn't had trouble with it after he had chased Jango and his kih'vod off and away from Komino, but the longnecks say he is Cody, so now he is. Commander Cody's reputation spreads from the beginning of the war with both how quickly he takes to leadership and with the particular Jetti he serves, his yellow armor a beacon for most when he and the 212th charge across the battlefield. He's the first of 4 to be promoted to Marshal Commander, Cody grinning underneath his bucket at the cheers from his men, and the joy radiating from his General as he pins the commendation on his armor.
Cody remembers the day Obi-Wan said his name softly, walking beside the commander toward whatever they had been doing.
They never did make it to their final destination, instead, Cody nearly kicks down the door to an empty room and drags the Jetti inside. Lips meet before their brains catch up, and that damn cloak he's always dropping on the battlefield is now in the way as he aches to hold Obi-Wan close. He can't remember when he started wanting Obi-Wan, the man who understood his normally neutral mannerisms without the need to ask, and completed him in a way he never knew he was incomplete. Cody could melt when Obi-Wan cups his face, saying something but going unheard as he drank in those dazzling eyes and reddened cheeks, smiling for the first time in a long while. He's never been a selfish man, but Cody can't help but think that Obi-Wan is the first thing he's ever wanted for his own, and hopes that it will be easy to make this clear. Of course, Cody doesn't have to try, Obi-Wan always knows, calling him dear and darling after they eventually leave their little spot away from the world.
Cody remembers the first day he was just Cody to those he loves, Commander by day to clean up the corruption and devastation from a war finally ended.
It was a long process, just because the Sith behind it all was gone did not mean his collaborators were just going to stop, but it was fulfilling. Clankers were cut down with ease now they didn't have the drop on the clone troopers, and the rapidly dwindling numbers meant more time away from the front lines. More time to see worlds he had only seen in snippets or brief times on the surface, time to see survivors they'd help save, time to sit in the Temple on Coruscant and listen to Obi-Wan be a leading force towards a better Republic. Cody still finds it strange that most natborns were less hostile as the days pressed on, and sometimes sits with Fox to wonder if the Sith could control so many people on the neverending planet, to which they both shrug and agree that the Force was too weird to try and figure out.
Cody remembers the first time little Luke and Leia called him Ori'vod Kote, the little tubies scooped up into his arms with matching giggles.
Kote enjoys living on Naboo whenever he can drag Obi-Wan away from his work, chuckling when Luke usually traces his many scars while Leia asks for stories with an intense look on her face. He wonders how quickly a tubie can become a Senator, a question that causes Padme to launch into laughter and Skywalker to cover his face with his hands, which in turn makes their children laugh. Kote sometimes thinks of having his own tubies when he and Obi-Wan leave the planet after their visits but knows that their work needs to be finished before that can be allowed, as none of his will live in such a dangerous universe. Still, his (slightly still dangerous) life that Kote has is as perfect as it can be for now, and that's all he really needs.
---------
Happy 2/2/24 day to my favorite Marshal Commander!

helloo! i love your writing so much and i wonder would you like to write commander cody with padawan reader, it's after order 66. and as we know in bad batch s2 he's gone to AWOL right? so what if he go to other planets anywhere and meet reader again (let's pretend he already removed his chip lol) imagine how he feels guilt meeting his little padawan after trying to kill her and her master (obi-wan) and how the reader react meeting him again especially looking at her cody sun armor become gray like shadow unlike him.
(sorry if my english kinda messed up, and have a great day!! <3)

Cody’s head hurt again.
But it wasn’t like last time, he was in control now and always will be.
“How are you feeling Kotes?” Rex came around the tables and laid a hand on Cody’s shoulder.
To be honest Cody wasn’t sure what he was feeling, if anything. Nausea sat in the pit of his stomach but he feared that it wasn’t just from the procedure he went through.
A hand reached up to the side of his head, the fresh bandage felt course under his hand- the all to familiar feeling of before.
“I’m fine.” Cody’s voice was raspy and burned his throat- Rex picked up on this and quickly went to get him a drink of water.
There he sat alone.
He was alone for a while now, but nothing like this. If you went back a few week you would see the small spark of hope illuminating in his eyes.
Cody wasn’t sure of a lot of things since the war ended but maybe it was the illusion of hope that he and Crosshair could escape together.
“Good soldiers follow orders.”
Then Cody went AWOL. Finally it seemed that he got his mind right- the headaches and the dreams that plagued him however said otherwise.
Rex walked back in. Cody’s eyes were clouded in thought as he sat unmoving on the table.
Placing a ginger hand on his knee Rex has never seen is brother in such a state. But the way he felt in this moment- finally getting his free will totally returned to him was something he would never forget.
“Hey Kotes,” Rex helped him to his feet and lend him out into the halls. “We found something you might need to take a look at.”
Cody almost instantly snapped back to attention as the pair of brothers made their way back to the ship they arrived on.
“A few radars picked up on some chatter from the bounty hunters guild.” Rex returned to the Captain Cody knows and loves, things were going back to how they use to be.
“Why would your crew have any interest in the guilds?” Cody questioned, a little slow to connect the dots. “Your fighting an empire here.”
Rex stared at him for a moment, his try at a sarcastic tone clearly flew over Rex’s head.
It was one of the only times Cody has ever seen Rex so unsure about what he was about to say. “We picked up Y/N’s location. The bounty for Jedi are unbelievably high and I’m worried if one of us doesn’t get there in time it might go sour.”
Cody froze in his seat, the end of Rex’s sentence seemed to go blurry. The moment replayed every hour of the day, awake or asleep. He memorized the moment when he watched Obi-wan fall from that terrible hight.
He remembered the look you gave him as he turned to you, your lightsaber coming up in your shaky hands staring at him.
“Cody what’s going on?”
“I- they made it?” Cody looked at Rex, the dark thought that he was playing a terrible joke on him.
Rex only nodded his confirmation. Waiting for Cody to see just want he would do.
You wouldn’t want to see him. Cody didn’t even want to see himself. The terrors he’s created would never wash off no matter how hard he scrubbed.
The armor that surrounded him all his life was striped away, just like everything he has ever known. His sunshine was stripped away as well.
Taking a shaky breath in Cody whispered. “Take me to them.”
•••
Your head hurt again.
It was just like the last time, the moment you realized nobody was on your side anymore.
The purge left you stranded by yourself, unsure of what to do you fled as far as you could.
The outer rim served its purpose for now but the empire was expanding, and the hunters became bolder with their search.
Against your better judgment you tried to reach Ahsoka, Hunter even but it was no use.
Maybe now you were by yourself. Cutoff.
You sat up straight in your makeshift bed. The sheets bawled into your fist as your chest heaved and sweet ran down your back.
You weren’t safe even in your own mind.
You watched him fall. The scream you let out as you lost him over the edge. Everyone around you went off.
Cody. Your Cody turned to you next- all around you heard the all too familiar sound of blasters raising. Cody aimed for you as you brought your weapon up, the thought of hurting any of them never crossed your mind before.
“Cody.” You had tried. “Cody what’s going on?”
The blaster that was shot at you was the moment you woke this time. Other times you weren’t as lucky to be spared with the memory.
The sky was masked with the darkness of the night, your clock told you at you barely sleep 2 hours since you tried to go to sleep.
You gathered yourself as practically dragged yourself to the only window in your “home”
This wasn’t home. Nothing would come close to what the word use to mean to you, but it was soemthing keeping you mildly safe.
The sky above never really changed, it was the only constant you found after the end of the war. The only thing you could depend on that would never harm you.
Your head buzzed again, for a split second you turned to your hidden saber, the weapon you couldn’t pick up since you arrived on this rock. The crystal within buzzed constantly in your ear, begging to be picked up once again.
It use to be a background noise that grounded you, but things have changed.
You stared into the darkness for a moment, the lightsaber wasn’t it. Turning your attention back to the outside world the familiar feeling felt crooked in your chest.
It wasn’t really right, but it was something you recognized none the less.
A cloak that you threw around yourself countless times before made its way to your shoulders- masking you from others and you left closing your door silently behind you.
For a moment you thought maybe, just maybe it was your master heat to tell you everything would be ok, to help you just as he had countless times before.
But you couldn’t think like that, like you use too. Hope burned within you as you followed the force you tried desperately to get rid of.
•••
Cody tried the comm channel he used countless times before, he could practically put it in with his eyes closed.
But of course no answer.
He did try once before- the first night he ran from the empire, alone in the back of a transport ship he tried to reach the Jedi he grew fond of.
It was one of the only instants the commanders eyes watered slightly and his nose ran.
Rex was waiting near by with the ship as he walked the streets of this planet alone. His armor was covered with a poncho Rex lent him and frankly it was the best he could do.
He hoped that you weren’t here, the disgusting streets and inhabitants made him sick. But what if this was better than see him again?
Cody shook that last thought. His hand shook slightly at his side which was a nervous habit he picked up a long time ago.
His eyes scanned the dark scenery for any sign that you might have been here, a sign Cody hoped nobody else could pick up on.
On instinct he turned down an alley to his left, this was definitely not the place to be at this time.
His eyes squinted trying to pin point a figure towards the end. This was the only time he wished for his helmet that didn’t seem his own.
Something ate at the inside of him again. His breath was sparse wondering if his eyes were playing tricks on him. If his mind was no longer his own.
The figure took a few steps from the shadows that engulfed them. The moon illuminated someone that haunted every minute of his life.
You held a blaster out in front of you, but this time you didn’t shake.
Cody didn’t dare take another step. His eyes were firmly planted on the ground as he kneeled down dropping his blaster in front of him.
“Cody?”
He could only nod, afraid that his voice would highlight just how vulnerable he felt in this very moment.
But he had to say something, he couldn’t leave you again.
“I’m- I’m so sorry kid.” His voice broke through his words. This uncertain feeling engulfed him like a flame showing no mercy. “Sorry, I’m sorry.”
You stared at him for a moment. Taking in the sight- clearly things were different. The sunshine was stripped from him. His eyes, though they tried to avoid you, seemed hollow.
You thought of two things in this moment.
You wanted to run, run from someone that could hurt you all over again, someone that you weren’t even sure you could trust.
Or
You could try to hang onto one of the only things that you so desperately needed. You needed someone.
The blaster clanked to the ground as you walked to Cody. Your guard was up but the tears betrayed what you were really hoping for.
You hoped that Cody was himself again.
Cody looked up, your familiar eyes caught his own. The tears that he dried so many times fell across your cheeks, and he only wished to dry them one more time.
“I’m sorry.” He didn’t know what else to say, his mind left him and he could only mutter the only words that went through his head, as if they could make everything better.
You kneeled down with him. For a second Cody thought this might be a dream of his own and this was the moment that he would loose you once again.
But you stayed.
Quickly you wrapped your arms around his neck, pulling him flushed against you.
Cody wasted no time crushing you into him. You cling to him as he continued to whisper small apologies into your hair.
Through the muffled sniffles you voiced. “I liked your other armor kot’ika.”
For the first time in a while Cody found himself giving an actual laugh.
He nodded as he griped you even tighter as if he was afraid that if he let go you would leave.
“I think I could use some help painting it again.” He spoke a little louder. The emotions still sounded in his voice.
It was your turn to nod into his chest. For the first time in a while You found yourself crying tears of relief that finally someone was here for you again.
This time you weren’t going to let him go again.

How Cody got his name ~ a headcanon
Kote should have been able to dodge it! The cracking of his little brother’s nose rings in his head.
<WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?!>
Fox can’t hold back his own growing anger. He grabs Kote by the collar of his blacks and raises him a little up. Hate-Anger-Pain, the air around his brother becomes thicker, heavier.
<KOTE!>
He flinches. His little brother flinches at his own name, the anger spiking up, his so caring, warm eyes fill with dread.
Fox understands now. Fox understands him so well. Kote hates his name. He resents it. The responsibility, all the expectations on his shoulders becoming too difficult to bear. He doesn’t see himself as someone glorious but rather as someone who just fulfills his duty, someone who loves and cares about his brothers and would do anything for them.
He sees himself as someone who has failed and disappointed his brothers. A perfectionist who now seeks punishment.
Fox won’t do that. He loves his brother. The vod'ika who rises like the sun, painting everything in warm golden light. Kote is his sun on Kamino. He gives hope and warmth on bad days and Fox will always be thankful for it.
He drops on his own knees and let’s go of his brother’s collar. His hand moves towards the back of Kote's head instead, pulling him closer to rest their foreheads together.
His brother seems irritated and at the same time almost furious, but he doesn’t move away from it, he just quietly boils inside.
<Breathe. It is alright. Today is a bad day. You will be alright. >
But Kote shakes his head. No word leaves his mouth, not trusting the stability of his voice. Fox smiles gently.
<Cody.>
And Cody looks up. Anger disappearing as if it was never there to begin with. Warm, brown eyes, look into his brother’s blood red ones, searching for an answer.
<Cody…>
The younger repeats quietly immediately settling in the feeling of safety, normality.
All the time he had worn the name Kote, that Prime personally had given him. At first he had prided himself in it but with time he started to see it as a burden for himself. He feels that he couldn’t keep up with it, despite everyone telling him otherwise.
<Cody. Let’s get some bacta for your nose. I will beat you up tomorrow again.>
Fox smirks at his brother who let’s his shoulders relax and chuckle. It melts Fox's heart. To see his little brother finally relax a little bit .
He shakes his head and helps him back up.
Cody.
The rising sun of Kamino, now shining brighter, warmer and even more glorious as the shackles of Kote could ever have let him.

Hello there 👋🏻 for the WIP Title Game, I'd love to know a little something about: "Mand’alor haar Eyayah’ad, Mand’alor haar Kote (Cody/Obi-Wan/Jango.)" 👀👀👀👌🏻😏 Oooo, love that pairing (throuple?! 🤭)
Thank you!
This fic started as a Codywan fic wearing a Jangobi trench coat. Where the premise was Cody goes back in time, abducts Jango and replaces him. But thanks to RealJango eyeing up FakeJango’s Jetii, it got a whole lot more complicated to write 😂 and now we just have to be thankful Obi-Wan has two hands and can multitask.
- - -
(WIP snippet from Chapter One)
He closes his eyes and prays to the manda, to the force, to whatever god that may be listening to a soulless being like the one he’s become, that he can be with his vode again, wherever it is they may go. If they’re marching on, or finding peace in the force like the Jedi would speak of, he wants to be with them.
The Jedi.
CC-2224–Cody, hates himself in those final moments where he remembers. Loathes what he was forced to become, what he did. What they all did to the only people who treated them like humans, the people who fought alongside them, as forced into the manufactured war as the clones themselves were.
He regrets the things he did for the Empire, wondering why he suddenly lost all that he was and finally became the flesh droid he and his vode had long despised being called. He sees all the faces of those he killed. Human. Alien. Man. Woman. Child. Jedi. Brother. He’d shot at his own vode, the ones that hadn’t been with the Empire, the ones who rebelled. But how had they resisted what he’d fallen to? How had they remained whole while he’d become a shadow of himself? He'd been a weapon, and not a man for far too long.
It doesn’t matter now, though. Darkness is creeping into his mind as everything else falls away. It doesn’t even hurt anymore.
His final thought is of his former General, and the smile he’d given him moments before Cody had ordered his death and watched him fall over the cliff’s edge. Of the screaming pain that had come from the small part of himself still remaining, buried way down under the Emperor’s control. And he hopes that wherever he’s going, Obi-Wan is there, too. Even if he doesn’t deserve him.

Cody-Centric Fic Recs
Name of the Game - esama
There's a new Dark Sider on the battlefield, one who has it out for Cody's General.
-----
Codywan; pre-slash, sith!Obi-Wan
Of Warnings (Ignored) - Trixree
“Listen to me, Kote. Are you listening? Because it is very fucking important that you listen to me right now,” 17 says. He would seize Kote by the chin and make him pay attention, if 17 was looking to get bit on top of all the other pain his body is gifting him with.
----
Codywan; Cody is a little shit; Alpha is longsuffering
Bonding Rituals - blackkat
Cody smirks, tilting his head. “Sounds like Fox has a date,” he says, and Rex is suddenly, vividly reminded of the fact that Cody and Fox are batchmates. Something must have gone wrong with the cloning process there, because that much asshole in one batch should be physically improbable. For a moment, he almost feels sorry for Fox.
Then he remembers that Fox yelled at Fives last time they ran into each other during an escort mission on the front, and decides that he actually doesn’t.
-----
Fox/Obi-Wan, Rex & Cody, Pranks and Practical jokes
sunshine and the shade of poetry - Petrichordiam
"Sorry sir, but I don't think we've met," Cody said, turning up the friendly customer service representative levels by two points.
To his delight, there wasn't really any visible change in his general's expression. "Have I neglected to leave an impression on you over the last several years?"
"I'm not sure you want an honest answer to that question, sir."
===== The war comes to an abrupt end, and everyone around him begins the long road to recovery and discovery. Cody, on the other hand, just needs to find a new job.
Unfortunately, he has no idea what to do next.
-----
Codywan; Rex & Cody, Coruscant Art Scene, Romance-writer Cody
*And because I am shameless, some of my own fics:
girlboss, gatekeep - deniigiq
Captain Gregor immediately leans his chin on his palm and smiles at Fives. Fives smiles back. He does not perceive this action to be the threat that it truly is.
“That man’s going to kill him,” Jesse says with his neck craned as far as it will go.
“Yep,” Kix agrees solemnly.
“You never know,” Echo says. “He’s squeezed better outcomes out of worse odds.”
(Fives decides that he's going to join the illustrious, mysterious, and oh-so exclusive Commanders Batch, and he's going to start by becoming besties with Commander Cody. Rex cannot stop this trainwreck but he can certainly watch it happen in slow motion - and occasionally he can offer a word or two of advice.)
-----
background Codywan; Fives & Cody; Rex & Cody, Cody & Command Batch; hijinks and shenanigans
they're neutral - deniigiq
Retired Commander Cody moves into a new neighborhood and becomes furious at the way a nearby roundabout is treated as a dumpsite. He installs a giant Jedi Crest fountain dead in the center of it and accidentally creates a safe place for the diasporic Jedi community to worship.
-----
light codywan; Cody & Wolffe, Cody & Rex, Home Improvement; Community Development
the time when stars align - qigiined
Lord Vader stands before Cody with a ruined body and asks him between puffing, hissing breaths, how he has found the latest therapy.
Cody explodes.
Never before did he realize how hopeful he was that he would soon die. Never before has he felt so helpless. The only natural process he could depend on has been snatched from his fingers. He is again a young man. His accelerated aging factor has been ‘cured.’
-----
Codywan; Force-Ghost Obi-Wan; De-aging; Treason

I saw your reply to a post where you mention how fanon has fucked over many character in dw including Fives. And holy shit im so glad someone finally said it. His fanon depictions have become so widely accepeted and annoying, i'd love to see a post actually call them out for once.
Yeah, I agree with you.
I don't know what fanon ideas you are thinking of about Fives, but for me, it is the idea that Fives is an insubordinate chaos child, and sometimes as far as being portrayed as ditsy. He isn't. He is actually quite intelligent, but that part is easy to get the fandom to come to an agreement.
The part that is the most side-eye from me is the idea that he is insubordinate. We see him on Rishi Moon reading the regulations.
Fives is, in all honesty, a very responsible, and respectable soldier. Sorry to say, but you don't become an ARC Trooper unless you are. They are the elite of the elite. They have to be smart, well-disciplined, and also have the capacity to understand when and how to act in defiance.
The idea that Fives causes so many problems for his superior, like Rex, is absurd, and just a self-projected wish that Fives be the chaos child others want him to be. Fox and Cody suffer similarly. On the flip-side, Echo and Rex suffer in contrast; they were the boring ones.
Fives didn't try to reveal the chips out of defiance of the military, but in compliance of his overruling operative. He uncovered a mechanism by which the Jedi could be slaughtered, in mass. To him, it looked like a means of treason, at the expense of the only friends the Clones had, the Jedi. Which, it ultimately was.
This does fundamentally come down to, again, a lack of understanding of how the military operates.
More to the relevant point, it shows a lack of emphasis on what facts and details we are given about the characters.
Another aspect of Fives's character that I do not agree with is one he has in common with Obi-Wan. I personally do not agree that sexual-liberation means what feels to me to be hypersexualization. To me, the opposite of slut-shaming isn't making someone a slut.
I understand that, ultimately, people have different priorities in what they want to get out of their engagement with a franchise and fandom. For some, it is just... what would make them laugh, or tickle their proverbial boner. People are in it for the deep-dive examination, and others are in it for world-building.
My biggest issue is, and remains, when the fanon ideas are perpetuated to the point that it becomes the presumptive norm.
Too many times I've had people assume that I headcanon Cody's name originating from Kote, that I ship or DON'T ship the same things they do, or that I participate in a specific trope.
All this being said, the problem with "calling out" the fandom is it makes people feel like they are being attacked, that their favorite toys are being taken away. They won't listen, and instead, will get on the defensive... and often, they can get nasty. Hell, I've had people try to start a riot because I voiced that I wished more people would research the military.
No one is obligated to interpret things the same way as others. If others want to write PWP for the sake of it, they can. I would, personally, be exhausted trying to pretend my position because I can already hear the reply that no one is required to do— Yes, I know. No one is required to do anything. No one is required to watch all of TCW, do the research into the military, perceive the dynamics of the Clones with the Mandalorians the same way. I get it. I know that. It feels a lot like the, "Pineapple is good for you, eat more Pineapple," followed up with, "I'm allergic to Pineapple" or "I don't like Pineapple." Because obviously the only answer is, "Then, don't eat Pineapple."
At this point, everything feels like YKINMK: Your kink is not my kink, except, instead of kink, it is fandom tropes and characterizations.
No matter how good of an argument I have against the fanon tropes characters like Fives, Fox, Cody, Obi-Wan, and others are subjected to, no one is obligated to alter how they engage. If they want to continue under those tropes, I cannot stop them, nor would I do so even if I possessed the power.
But yeah, fanon and fandom ruin more characters than even the IP holders do.

Nothing More Beautiful
Pairings || Cody X Obi-Wan Kenobi Warnings || Angst / PTSD / Survivors Guilt Song Inspiration || Night Argent - Nothing more beautiful  Synopsis || Cody tries to comfort his traumatised husband
The soft embrace of dreams pulled away from him, his eyes fluttering as the pale sunlight assaulted them.
It was still early, the heat of the day not yet oppressive enough to quieten the calls of far away bantha, and yet despite the hour the bed was empty, the spot usually occupied by his riduur cold beneath questing fingers. Kote knew where he would find Obi-Wan if he where to look, his tortured soul drawn to the wide open plains that dipped away from their mountain home. He would sit there for hours sometimes, lost in his memories of the past, blame and guilt heavy on his shoulders as he watched his oblivious charge become a boy.
He sighed as he pulled himself upright, his old bones and battered muscles complaining from a night spent on little more than a thin mattress, and yet he would suffer it - because it was where he would wrap his arms around his beloved. Each night he would whisper gratitude into his ear, telling him how lost he would be without him. Each night he would press a kiss to his glistening brow, listening to heart breaking wishes to be the man he’d fallen in love with all those years before, and nothing could reassure the Jetii that he was as he ever had been. A kind man whom Kote could be proud to call his cyare.
The chill of night still lingered in the cave as he made his way through it, flipping on the stove as he observed the straight-backed figure sat on the outcropping. The dusty blue of his blanket complimented the auburn of his hair, the first grays softening the edges of a man who’d seen too much and blamed himself for even more, as does the tan of the desert beyond, the lighter hues showing that his general was not yet as old as his soul suggested. He greets him with a soft hum once he finally dares to break his riduur’s contemplation of the world, two cups of freshly brewed caff in hand as he lowers himself to the unforgiving stone beside him. It’s still chilled from the night before, causing a slow shiver to traverse his aged spine as he presses a faded orange mug into Obi-Wan’s hands.
“You had that dream again didn’t you”
He hums, non-committal as he takes his cup into rough hands.
“I’ve not had a night free of it, not since ...”
Obi-Wan trails off, his emotions thickening his accented voice as he heaves a sigh. Kote has long suspected the dreams to be a manifestation of his grief, the weight of everything they’d been through stuttering his own heart as his memories ebb and flow within him. A panicked run to escape people who’d once been family, their armor glowing in the ghostly light of an Utapau sunset. Three months holed up in the dingiest hole the galaxy had to offer, too afraid of everyone and anything to move from it, and then his eventual reunion with a man who’d been his everything - his eyes watery as he asked if he was a ghost.
Kote had been by his side ever since, guiding him through the good days and the bad, finding comfort in the fact that the dark side of the force dared not touch his luminous soul. He reaches over to place a gentle touch to his riduur’s knee, one the jetii grips too as the dawn chorus of metal creaks and lizard croaks drifted into a hushed silence. Out in the distance he could still hear the bantha, their low bellows carrying for miles and miles, and he wondered if his old friend Ur’uurranuurr was out there, their tall frame swaying back and forth as they guided their tribe to their next camp. He breathes deep, full of content for his life as he lets his calm drift into Obi-Wan, the softness of his voice coaxing him back from the edge as he asks the question he always asks his riduur on days like this.
“Take a look inside your heart, what do you see?”
Kenobi exhales, holding tight to the mug in his hands. At first Kote thinks he won't respond, his posture rigid as he stares out into the desert, but then he breaks, his throat bobbing as his voice cracks around his tongue.
“It’s -- torn apart.”
A brief pause, the force crackling in complaint against his skin as he battles against his emotions - his whole soul ripe for the reaping as he turns tear stained eyes to Kote
“Why do you stay Kote? I’m nothing but a broken man with nothing to give.”
“Sweetheart, you know that’s not true”
“But it is, isn’t it? Look around you! There’s nothing but misery and despair here!”
Kote follows his extended hand as it indicated first to the featureless desert, then to the cave beyond. It was true that there was little joy to be found here, his whole existence narrowed down to four walls of wind smoothed sandstone, and yet he felt like he’d never been richer in his life. Kote could go where he wanted so long as he stayed away from the main settlements, and he could do what he wanted so long as it didn’t reveal he was a clone. Sure his job at the nearby vaporator farm was far from mentally stimulating, but it was far more freeing then his life as Marshall-Commander of the 212th had ever been!
“You know what I see? I see life.”
Obi-Wan balks but otherwise says nothing, the wrinkles around his eyes deepening as he stares into the depths of his cup.
“It’s all around us, dancing and swaying in the force as it finds a way to survive. Sure it’s not the nicest place in the galaxy, but it has you, and that’s all I’ve ever needed - just you.”
Kote reaches over as Obi-Wan tries to look away from him, his fingers carding into his beard as he turns his face back to his soft amber meeting pale hazel. Today Obi-Wan’s eyes lean more toward brown, taking on the hues of the walls around him as he turns toward the one being who’d kept him sane - his Adam's apple bobbing as Kote continues to infuse his being with much needed light.
“Want to know what I see when I look at you? I see a beautiful soul, one that’s given so much of himself to help those in desperate need. Every time I look into your eyes I see the light of those stars - of the souls you've saved - and not one of them knows your worth! But if you look hard enough you will find one amongst them who cares, one who’d give anything to see you put the past behind you. Will it hurt? Yes, yes it will, but you can’t help Luke if you are sitting here letting the past consume you.”
“He doesn’t need me either ...”
“Yes he does. Who else is going to give him lovingly repaired spaceship models? Owen? Pah, I don’t think so! He’d have the kid fixing vaporators all day long, and we both know the kid isn’t into that kind of osik -- he’s too much like this father.”
“That’s what I’m worried about. What if I fail him like I failed ...”
“You didn’t fail him sweetheart. You tried your best to be a good master to him, taught him everything you knew about the living force, but there isn’t much you can do when a teen has decided they’ve learned everything they need to know about life. Will Luke go through that phase? Most likely, but you are better prepared to help him deal with that should he ever come looking for such guidance. You know to meet resistance with gentle patience, know to listen with an open heart if he has something he needs to say, and most importantly you know better then to meet a student’s ego with your own.”
“I don’t have a ...”
“Yes you do Mr. Negotiator.”
Obi-Wan chuckles, giving into the wise observation of his lover. He’d taunted and teased, pushed and pulled, constantly meeting Anakin’s boyish energy with his own, and he wondered how Anakin might have turned out if he’d been a little older - a little more rounded - before he took him on as an apprentice? The warmth of the desert air lingers in his throat as he takes a breath, the taste of baked soil threatening to drag him back to Mustafar, but as always Kote’s hand on his knee holds him steady.
“I suppose you're right.”
“Of course I am! Remember what Rex always used to say?”
“Your marshal-commander is always right, even when he’s wrong.”
A hesitant smile crosses Kenobi’s lips, the ambient light of the sun bleaching his eyes blue.
“I -- I wish I did more for him, for them all.”
The silence stretches into the horizon line, thick with the loss of ages as Obi-Wan exhales a shaky breath - letting free at least some of the guilt that had haunted him for so long as he breathed his desires to the binary suns.
“You did what you could cyare, which was far more than any other being in this galaxy”
“It wasn’t enough ... still isn’t ...”
Kote follows his riduur’s gaze as his pain buffets around him, his head bowed as he cards his fingers into his graying curls.
“You were forced into a situation beyond your control, just as I was. Do you know how many of my men I had to kill just to escape Utapau? Dozens. But I know they would have preferred to die by my hand then suffer the alternative ...”
The 212th had been full of honorable men. They wouldn’t have wanted to be part of the empire, wouldn’t have wanted to cause pain to a people they had once defended with pride. No, they would rather die than that. Did it hurt? Without a doubt. But what more could he have done for them? He’d been on the run, couldn’t have taken even one vod for fear of being spotted, let alone get said soldier off planet. Not only that but he hadn’t known why his vode turned on the jetii, had lived in fear that any vod he tried to save might turn on him for disobeying orders. He trails his eyes down to his hands, trying not to see the blood that stained his soul - wishing - and hoping that his vode had finally found the rest they deserved in the Manda
“We’re both broken, have both done things we’d rather have not done. Yet those broken halves, they make a whole, a unique and beautiful whole.”
Obi-Wan shifts closer, leaning into the soft warmth of his riduurs side with a slow sigh, one that only grows deeper as he loops a cautious arm around his waist.
“Thank you Kote -- for everything”
“You don’t have to thank me cyar’ika.”
“I know, but I want to thank you regardless. There are not many men who’d stick with their riduur through something like this.”
Kote wants to scoff, wants to shout to the blazing suns that people like that had no right to the title, but he holds it in. Not everyone is as tenacious as he is. Some would balk at the idea of living in the desert for the rest of their lives, others would find the lack of true friends alienating and depressing, whilst others still would turn their nose at the idea of living with a wanted criminal. Kote hated that word. Criminal. It was the furthest thing from the truth when it came to Kenobi, and yet he saw it everywhere - emblazoned on wanted posters as if it would gain some kind of truth if enough people saw it.
“I’m not a man sir, at least not as far as the empire is concerned”
It was a bad joke. He knew it, Obi-Wan knew it, and yet it made them laugh - the cave echoing with it as they eased back into old familiarity.
“Then it’s a good thing the empire isn’t here, isn’t it”
The laughter stutters, turns into a hesitant sound full of concern that speaking such things aloud might break the luck they had found. They were safe here, as safe as two wanted men could be on a backwater planet full of criminals, and the last thing Kote wanted was to shatter the fragile peace he had found here. He takes a breath, prays to the Manda for continued luck to smile upon them, then exhales - settling his head to Obi-Wan's shoulder.
“Yeah, it is, and long may it stay away”
The quiet hush that settles upon him soothes as much as it pains, the dawn chorus of animal sounds fading to nothingness as the heat of the day works its way into the cave. It’s going to be another hot day, he can feel it - the ache already settling into his bad knee. Young him would have scoffed if one of his vode told him spin kicking droids was a bad idea, whilst present him wishes he could go back and tell himself to stop being such a showoff - it simply wasn’t worth it. Another sigh, this one deeper as he extends his leg over the side of the outcropping, the muscles complaining every step of the way as he nudges into his companion.
“Want me to come into town with you today?”
At first Kote thinks Obi-Wan might say no, might say the two of them in one place was too big of a risk to take, but he doesn’t - his smile warming as he allows himself a rare indulgence.
“I’d like that Kot'ika”
It was the first of many indulgences, the first of many smiles, and Kote can’t help but bask in the knowledge that the worst was finally behind them

I read somewhere that Cody was the most similar to Jango personality wise (it's Canon for me now). That would probably yank some heart strings if Jango was dead... And be cosmic karma if Jango was alive, maybe a little taste of his own medicine ;)
t H o t s ?
thankfully jango in my "jaster lives" au is *not* dead but it definitely does tug on jaster's heartstrings all the same
It's interesting, I'd never really considered jango and cody to be similar, but now that you've got me thinking about it..... hmmmm... I vibe with it. Cody is hidden under about seventeen layers of professionalism but I always think of him as just having a little bit of Simmering Rage underneath it all LMAO, which is very Jango. I always think of them as butting heads bc of their similarities and the little differences - Cody see's Jango as both a terror and an oathbreaker, while also being the reason he Exists, and Jango see's Cody as everything he was meant to be and failed to (re: leadership, caring, etc).
this seems like a good time to bring up the little headcanon @ujalayi and i talked about, how cody got his scar and name (it involves Dred Priest's Battle Circle from the republic commando novels if you are not familiar kljskdljfas tldr asshole trainer beats up cadet clones for fun, makes them fight etc).
Cody (or rather, 2224) wasn't yoinked out of his bed into a battle circle like the others (priest knows 24's inserted himself into Jango's line of sight, which means he can't touch him) Priest did however, yoink 24's batch's adopted CT, 67 (rex!). 24 marches himself down to the battle circle, fights priest to buy time until the rest of his batch can get Prime or Tervho or whoever the hell they think can help. Priest gives 24 the wound that becomes the iconic scar before Jango breaks this up.
24 wakes up in medbay, Prime standing over him (!?!?!). Jango just sighs and says: "You're going to get yourself killed one day, sticking your neck out for your brothers like that, Kot'ika."
24 asks him what Kot'ika means. He says it's short for Kote, for Glory. Kot'ika is 'Little Glory".
24 becomes Kote. But only for his brothers.
this got out of hand but lmao enjoy my little novel. It sounds all very nice but cody is also doped up on painkillers and starts mouthing off to jango as soon as the tender moment is over

Forgive me, but I'm going to take the opportunity to shamelessly plug an in universe headcannon for Rex’ name that I've adopted from an author on Ao3 independent_variables (formerly known as whymylife) because I love it. The idea is that "Rex" is short for/adapted from "Rexutu" based on the Taung warrior "Rexutu the Unconquerable" from the Mando'a epic the Dha Werda Verda
Just imagine little 7567 hearing/reading this:
"With death upon him Rexutu the Unconquerable prepared to be stripped of all by his enemy, but vowed that his honor would be the last to be torn away. And so the Unconquerable gathered his kinsmen and his oath girdlings alike. They polished their fearsome helms, that they might flash even in the weak sun of Notron. They rewrapped the hilts of their weapons and pounded straight the shafts, that they might slake their thirst in Zhell ichor a final time."
And it just really resonates with him. Especially "Rexutu the Unconquerable prepared to be stripped of all by his enemy, but vowed that his honor would be the last to be torn away."
And can you IMAGINE Rex during the war thinking about this scene from the epic as he and the last remnants of Torrent Company are preparing to make their last stand at Teth?
Because I can and it haunts me.

So I'm sitting at work and I just had this random thought:
What if at some point, the Darksaber is destroyed. Then Grogu retrieves the Kyber crystal  from among the scattered Darksaber hilt bits and reforms it into his own Yoda-kind sized Darksaber?
Probably not the first person to think of this, but now I can't STOP thinking about it.

@whymylifewrites I may be a fully grown adult, but typically my art skills are on level with a five year old. (In natborn years, not accelerated clone years.)
Every now and then, though, I try to convince myself I can draw. 😅
And well -- you already know how I feel about your story "Butterfly" . 🥺

My #1 post of 2022
So yesterday I had the immense pleasure of meeting an adorable little boy, maybe 4 years old. He had a fistful of bright yellow dandelions he had picked for his teacher. His name was Cody.
Now I am picturing a world were tiny Kote was able to live a relatively carefree life and spend his free time picking dandelion bouquets for his ori'vod Alpha. 🥺
# @whymylife-cordelia this is your fault. (Thank you.)

I was talking about this in a couple of servers last night but i maintain that Anakin is like, one of the funniest Jedi to Accidentally Acquire a Baby. Like i genuinely do think that Anakin would be good with kids but he also would panic HARDCORE First.
Especially bc lbr he's most likely to steal a baby that he thought was in danger too. Like he's on Kamino for st maybe picking up new shinies and he sees a tuby that isn't being treated well by the Kaminoans and he just takes them and runs. Shows up back on the Resolute with a baby hidden under his cloak and a guilty expression on his face.
Cue ridiculous shenanigans where Anakin and the 501st not only have to hide the fact that they have a baby on board from the council, but you now also have a bunch of college aged kids who blow robots up for a living raising a baby. (@ann-i-inthestars mentioned that it was "Next level Three Men and a Baby".)
They'd fight over who got to babysit the baby constantly, and the baby would definitely have makeshift armor but also someone definitely made the tuby a onesie that looks like 501st armor. The hood probably even has rex's jaig eyes on it, which yes technically you have to earn but Rex wouldn't even care he would just melt to the floor bc lil tuby is wearing his armor. (Onesie with a baby kama onesie with a baby kama.)
(this idea was originally intended as rexwalker if you couldn't tell, because Rex going mushy over Anakin doting on clone kiddos is becoming a trademark for me, for those who know about my unpublished wips, but also just Anakin with a baby he suddenly finds in his care is hilarious on its own)
Like someone pointed out it'd be hard to hide it from Obi-Wan and Cody at the very least but like... Anakin would put the baby in Obi-Wan's arms, say here's your nibling/grandchild, and Obi Want would be reduced to tears while trying to lecture Anakin about attachment because this is the tiniest clone he has ever seen goodness. Cody is judging him for folding so fast but as soon as Rex calls him ba'vodu Kote he folds too.
Meanwhile Ahsoka isn't even mad about no longer being an only child she is going to be the best ori'vod/auntie you've ever seen, and they are frequently seen taking naps together (especially bc her growth spurts are making her as tired as the baby so might as well). When tuby starts learning to crawl and walk she starts teaching them how to stalk and pounce. Cuteness is a great weapon against the clones anyway ☺️
But back to Anakin specifically, he would definitely impulsively steal/rescue this baby, no thoughts to the consequences, and then double down hard about keeping/adopting this baby, even though he is panicking out the wazoo about how he's supposed to take care of them and oh force the baby is so tiny he's definitely going to break this baby. But he would also be within minutes the "if anything happened to them i would kill everyone in this room and myself", like he is ENTHRALLED by the little one. And he'd be so soft with them! He'd be fixing his ship while tuby is in their chair, rambling on to the baby about hydraulics and hyperdrive cores and quantum mechanics and the baby is just babbling back like they're listening.
Just, Anakin Skywalker accidental baby acquisition PLEASE

Okay so AU where Obi-Wan and Cody are trying to date post-clone wars but things are awkward cause even tho they’re like BFFs and soulmates there’s still the lingering effects of them being different ranks (but it’s not too bad cause they were VERY close in rank in comparison to their Jedi/clone status) but Obi-Wan is also having issues with people recognizing him after the war and making things awkward, so one day they’re on a date and Obi-Wan makes the reservations under Ben instead of Obi-Wan and Cody is all ‘?????!!! Can I call you that? Not that I don’t like Obi-Wan just that I called you that while you were still my general and I think it might make things a lil less awkward while we adjust and-‘ and Obi-Wan obviously says yes cause he likes that and Ben is actually what he wishes his name was sometimes when he remembers what Obi-Wan Kenobi means (Child of Noone, House of Nothing) and it kinda makes him excited to have someone call him that, so they get into the whole name change thing (Obi-Wan and Cody becomes Ben and Kote so it’s sorta soft on both ends) and one day Cody is talking about how amazing Ben is to his brothers who are all ‘oh no oh no, things must have fallen to pieces with the General and Cody got a rebound, okay, let’s be supportive and cheer him on while trying to figure out what went wrong with Obi-Wan… unless it was mutual then we will support them both and maybe get Obi-Wan a rebound too’ and it’s all sweet and everyone thinks Cody has this mysterious beau named Ben who Cody GUSHES over which he never did with Obi-Wan (cause war and rank) and one day Cody shyly asks if Ben can join them all for a night out (a bar, not 79s cause crowded lol) and they all say yes all excited to meet this nice man who’s got Cody wrapped around his fingers and!!!!! The general????????? Okay let’s just say none of them expected that one.

I am BEGGING you to write some continuation of the snippet where sith senator kenobi gets arrested by the jedi, and then has to get released because the jedi Do Not Understand PR. do they expect him to disappear, and then Mace runs into him in the senate and has to stop himself from attacking on instinct? do any of the jedi mention it to their troops who get huffy because HEY, I heard from my batchmate's sergeant's friend Rex that Kenobi stopped CC-2224 from being decommissioned and hired him!(1
2) and just - imagine Kenobi being a point of contention between some clones and Jedi? he helps pass some clone rights bills, not because he cares but because he chooses some that will actually make it JUUUUST a bit harder for the GAR to be trusted (because we want public perception against the GAR, and they're the actual faces of the army) ((the clones are only. one face.)) Everyone knew Kote on Kamino, and this one senator actually saved his life and - our Jedi hate him? Commander Tano says 2)
3) he's WEIRD, but she's also spent some time with him, whenever there's a required protection detail he's cold but he treats the clones as much as people as everyone else around him (PSYCH, it's because he doesn't think of ANYONE as deserving basic respect so he just doesn't change his attitude but it's SO MUCH MORE than the clones are used to, ESPECIALLY from senators) and also it's just. it's so funny. Sith Obi Wan becoming a favorite of the troopers? SENATOR Obi Wan? SITH SENATOR Obi Wan?
(also, obi-wan hears about this through anakin who hears it from rex (who is a HUGE kenobi apologist because THE MAN KEPT CODY FROM DYING, GENERAL) and thinks it's the funniest shit he's ever heard (ashoka's wondering how her life turned out this way. she meets with subira "I'm not hallucinating most of the time, right? Kenobi is an asshole?" subira pours her a drink even though Ahsoka's fifteen "he is an asshole. and you will never be able to convince them otherwise if he doesn't want that."))
(SSK being arrested by the Jedi and still wiggling his way out of it)
...........................you know you're really making me want to write Mace Windu walking in the senate building at 8am to plead his case against Obi-Wan and running completely by chance into Senator 'Sith Lord confirmed' Kenobi and Cody his bodyguard (who's following him around only to show how very attentive to the clones Obi-Wan is! so dedicated to the cause! so committed! a real inspiration!) while he turns up the shit-eating grin to 120% while saying "oh Master Windu! what a delight to see you so early! how are you today? I know we had our differences in the past--" "48 hours." Mace Windu says through gritted teeth. "--But I'm sure we can grow past our disagreements and learn to work amicably together in the future! After all, you only called me, a... what was it, Cody?" "The root of all evil, sir." "Yes, that. A bit hurtful, but I'm sure you didn't mean it! After all, you Jedi can be so sensitive about certain subjects!"

Can I give hot take that Fox was the feral one and not Wolffe when it comes to biting things? Because statistics state that foxes have a higher chance of rabies compared to wolves and I think it will be funny that tired stressed Commander Fox on the battlefield just takes off his helmet, showing off his beautiful red hair and just flips and kicks Black Widow style droids and then just body slams BBG (Big Bad Guy) while Wolffe is just running after him. - *^*
You absolutely may give this hot take! I hope this is what you were looking for!
He’d always been stunning, Wolffe knew. Ever since they were cadets back on that miserable, waterlogged hellhole, Fox was stunning. His red hair, shinier than the newest shinies, has always been a sight to behold— but Fox is, and always has been, a kriffing ass.
They were gifted their names for a reason, of course; Fox and himself are no different. Wolffe remembers the look on Alpha-17’s face, begging any higher being who would listen for the strength to deal with the lovingly named squad shebs. He may actually feel a bit of pity for Alpha, after all, he can’t imagine what the clone could have done to get stuck with the sheb’se.
Back then, his ori’vod had a habit of sneaking through the ventilation system to get his paws on “the good stuff,” whatever that meant. All it did was encourage young Kote’s behavior, really.
But, that didn’t stop Fox. His brother was slyer than anyone ever gave him credit for, which is why he, innocent Wolffe, ended up with the reputation for biting people. Oh yes, of course Wolffe may have bit one or two others, but c’mon, who hadn’t? Fox, on the other hand, incorporated that into his fighting style. Just like how Kote would throw himself on top of his opponent, Fox would bite them. But, unlike Kote, he made sure no one saw. Instead, Fox let others see his grace, how he could make a fight look like a finely choreographed dance. How, even though they were made from the same DNA, Fox seemed to be able to make falling look like flying and dismantling the training droids seem like art. But, the trainers could never explain the biting. It only happened in fights where tensions were high and a brother was hurt. No one ever saw it happen, nor even when, but they knew a member of the sheb’se was prone to chomp. Somehow, shut up Bly I have amazing people skills, it always ended up being blamed on him. Which is fine, really, because all it meant was he didn’t even have to work for a reputation, but his brother is still a kriffing ass.
Now, as commanders, his brother has only become more chaotic. It was a foolish dream, Wolffe realizes, to hope that Kote would be his only brother running for the title of chaos incarnate. Fox now has forgotten what sleep means, hides his prematurely graying hair under his bucket, and runs on so much caf his CMO has begun to plan his day around organizing groups of shinies to steal his stash.
As head of the Guard, he knows Fox doesn’t fight like the rest of the sheb’se do. Instead, his brother has been chained to a desk to forge the chancellor’s signature and play babysitter to the senators. When the clankers came to Coruscant, he should have known Fox would be out in the fray.
By a stroke of luck, a force blessing as Plo would say, they had all managed to be on Coruscant at the same time. Even the blonde baby got away from his general and commander to get here, though they all knew Skywalker had a poorly hidden rendezvous with a certain senator anyway. That’s how, should anyone ask, some of the highest ranking clones in the GAR ended up dirty fighting a dozen separatist hired bounty hunters and battalions of battle droids.
The Coruscant Guard shinies were having the time of their life, between facing a threat they could actually see and watching the legendary Marshal Commander Cody go apeshit on some droids, but Wolffe was watching Fox. Fox, dancing through rows of droids to get to the bounty hunters. Fox, the commander who gets pushed closer and closer to the metaphorical edge every time a shiny goes down. Fox, who’s taking off his helmet—?
“Fox don’t-” There he goes. It’s just like the good old days, watching his ori’vod rip off his helmet, red hair ruffling in the breeze, and chomping down on the bounty hunter unfortunate enough to take this job. Behind him, the shinies stop everything and just stare as their commander lets up and body slams the man into the ground. Then, like a blaster bolt, he’s gone. This, too, is just like the good old days, taking off after his brother and playing cleanup. Wolffe wouldn’t trade it for the world.

Codywan Medival AU Part 1
"Hello there" an unfamiliar voice spoke up. As he turns to the voice, he sees a smiling man. "I presume you are Kote?" the unknown man looks him up and down "My my, you sure are a glory"
"Just call me Cody" he looks at the man warily "And you are?"
"Oh my, how can I forget to introduce myself?" the man bows "Lord Obi-Wan Kenobi, at your service" he winks at Cody. Cody has to stop himself from rolling his eyes. He takes an closer look at Kenobi. He sees a rapier at the mans side, the symbol of the jedi order on his light armor. He looks back into Kenobis face "You're a Jedi?"
"Yes, I am" Kenobi sits down across from Cody "And I have an offer to make, that you'll surely find interesting"
Cody just looks at the man, waiting. Kenobi smiles "Your a hard one to get aren't you? Good for me, that's exactly my type" he laughs. Cody has to restrain the urge to just stand up and leave. The jedi becomes serious "Back to business. I need someone to accompany me on my way to the Naboo Kingdom. I have to meet there with another Jedi and Queen Amidala"
"You're a Jedi, why can't you go alone?"
Kenobi sighs "My order won't let me. They are to afraid I'll get myself into serious trouble. But with an strong and dutiful Mandalorian at my side, it sure won't be a problem. So, what do you say Cody? Will you accompany me? Don't worry you will be payed generously"
