I am 🌟 COLLECTING 🌟 library cards
Reminder that the Libby App (library app - has books, audio, graphic novels) let's you add multiple libraries, you just need your card number and pin, and when you search for materials will search all of the data bases you have access to! Making the chances of you getting the book (and quickly for example if one library has a wait-list for the book, another might not) much better!!!
Don't buy books from Audible/Amazon when you can use free public resources even if you can't leave your house! You can even apply for library cards online without going in and usually get a 30 day grace period before having to go in with a license/id for a permanent library card 💖💖💖

Fuck audible. Go to your local library and see if they have Libby and Hoopla. Free ebooks and audiobooks.

Do any of you use book apps? For example: Goodreads, Story Graph, Bookmory, or Hoopla?
I’m sick of Goodreads, so I was looking through the App Store and it was surprising how many new apps there are for books.

i recommend looking at Hoopla for Harrow the Ninth. Its an app that also uses ur library card but for some reason has different titles sometimes and also no wait dates, just limited to a certain amount of borrows each month
I've looked through the hoopla app and for whatever reason, it doesn't accept my MELSA library card. In fact, none of the local libraries from that system that I *should* be able to borrow from show up in the search. :( If any other local MN peeps know a way around it, I'd be very grateful.

Very excited to have learned this weekend that Hoopla carries a lot of the titles distributed through Acorn in the US. Now I can watch 10 Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries a month if I want to, thanks to my local library!

Lady Killer by Joëlle Jones
"I'm sorry. Things got a little out of hand."
Fantastic. Just fantastic. I LOVED this book. The artwork is absolutely gorgeous! The story's a thrilling blend of violent action and dark humor. And Josie is an anti-heroine for the ages, beautifully embodying tropes as she gleefully dismembers dismantles them. I just had a ton of fun with this one, and if I had to be brutally murdered, there would certainly be worse ways to go than by the hands of Josie Schuller.
10/10

hi ! in your post on your favorite books about ancient Rome, you recommended Marcus Agrippa : Right-hand Man of Caesar Augustus, by Lindsay Powell. do you know where i could find a copy/pdf online ?
Get thee to Hoopla, my dear anon! You can borrow the book for free as long as you have a library membership and the library subscribes there. It's usually my go-to if my own library doesn't have a book available.
If your local library doesn't use Hoopla, you can probably buy a non-resident library membership that does, or get the book through interlibrary loan.
There are also less legal methods, and I'll admit to using them if I really can't get a book legally (or it's absurdly expensive)...but I do recommend supporting authors and libraries when you can. It helps the libraries stay open and funds the authors' hard work!
