Mon-El: Trust me, I know what I’m doing.
Kara: That’s a lie and we both know it.
Mon-El: Ok then, I’ll follow your lead, what’s the plan?
Kara: …
Kara: We go in there. We kick ass.

Flowey: I can give a good face! I usually struggle to keep a character up for long though, so that could be a problem. I'll try extra hard this time. And who knows, maybe I'll get some practice in acting before then.
I can be one of the witnesses to defend Asgore, and so can Toriel. I know you don't like him too much, but you know him, and in sure you could see how he was pushed to do something he didn't truly want to do. Every monster depends on your help, and I'm sure you have some more credibility on this topic. *Flowey looks at Toriel hopefully. Along with helping monster-kind, his could be an opening for him to nudge Toriel into forgiving Asgore, and he is taking it that chance.*
Alphys also has credibility being the royal scientist and all, so she can probably provide the valuable facts.
(Toriel) "Just as I said, 'even he deserves mercy.' I will help you. Not that there was much doubt." (Alphys) "Me. I mean, I guess you could choose me. What if I do wrong? What if I ruin everything? What…" (Undyne) "Alphys, we agreed you would not self-deprecate yourself more than twice." (Alphys) "Thanks, Undyne. Blushes I know a lot about human and monster history. It's mostly humans hating on monsters, though." (Kara) "Side note. What's your relationship level?" (Undyne) "Oh, we're engaged. Shows ring. It's usually a surprise who proposes in same-sex marriages, but I feel like Alphys would've died if she'd proposed." (Alphys) "We have even scheduled our wedding. Around a week after the court case." (Kara) "I'm glad you two are the most consistent ship in the Undertale AU." (Dess) "Can we get back to Asgore? I don't mean to be rude, but we might die." (Kara) "Right! I feel like we've got a good plan. Flowey, remember you can practice all you want, but don't let out your anger. I know it's hard, and everyone here could listen to this honestly, but you must not get angry unless told to. Good? Great!"

shadow and bone episode 6 liveblog: all two minutes of it before I turned off the TV
wow Baghra sure doesn’t…….. give a flying fuck that Alina plans to kill her son. which would be fucked up in a vacuum, but like. in the books, her motivation THE ENTIRE TIME is “saving him.” her ENTIRE THING is that SHE DOES NOT CARE about anything but herself and her son’s survival. EVERYTHING ELSE is expendable, the entire country is expendable, even Alina is expendable. BUT SURE!!! LET’S JUST NOT CARE THAT THE ONLY ONE OF YOUR MANY CHILDREN YOU BOTHERED TO RAISE AND THE ONLY CONSTANT OVER LIKE 800 YEARS OF YOUR LIFE IS GONNA GET MURDERATED
I am paused two minutes into the episode debating if this show is worth finishing
Darkling stans, I’ve always thought our section of the fandom unfairly vilified Baghra. but I am now maintaining that opinion only about book!Baghra. this is extremely cruel writing.
god. even book!darkling—an objectively worse and Deader Inside person than his show counterpart—had the decency to be extremely fucked up over Baghra’s death. and she just isn’t phased by the reverse prospect at all?
how did book!darkling, an objectively worse person who did far worse to everyone around him, get a more sympathetic treatment than what we’re doing now? like, what was the point of all the work they did to humanize the character and make him more three-dimensional, who DOESN’T EVEN DO HALF THE HEINOUS THINGS AS HIS BOOK COUNTERPART, only to turn around and take away sympathy for him that existed in the books
I was already expecting this liveblog would be a big rant about the decision to have baghra HELP alina with the amplifiers even though that is so outrageously counter to Literally Everything She Stands For And Believes In, but this just decked me in the face, so we might not even get far enough for me to do That Particular Rant
I’ve turned off the TV
an hour has passed, I’ve taken a shower, I’ve continued to debate with myself if I should just be done with the entire franchise and care about things that are actually good, instead of caring too much about things because I wish they were good
we’ll see what I decide. I’m gonna sleep on it
don’t tell me anything / be very vague. I can ask Kara specifics for my mind-making-up-process but I still want to have control over what/how much info I take in to make that decision
I really……. didn’t foresee a world where I wouldn’t like season 2
because like, I read the books. on the whole, I enjoyed them. even though objectively 5 of them are mediocre at best. I made it through. I had fun. they’re not good, but they’re entertaining, and that has value. and that was always my assurance. “well, if nothing else, the show won’t be WORSE than the books.” and I’m not so sure about that right now.
all things considered, I’m actually the world’s most easy-to-appease Darkling Stan. I don’t want a different ending. I like both deaths, in r&r and row. honestly, all I’ve ever wanted is for the narrative to be less heavy-handed on lecturing the audience, stop telling me how I’m supposed to feel, and respect the tragedy of someone who’s fought so hard and so long that there’s nothing left of him. Respect that that’s tragic.
and based on season 1, I thought, perfect, you’re golden, on the right track, just keep this up. I’m looking forward to that sweet sweet tragedy
and I do not understand how this version of the character—who is nowhere near as bad as his book counterpart—is being treated with even less sympathy. I don’t understand it. his own mother doesn’t give a shit??? you can’t even give him THAT? there is not a single soul in this whole entire world with even a scrap of sympathy, despite the fact that there are multiple characters in the book who feel that? they trust the audience so little?
my ask was so minimal. respect the tragedy of the character. and right now, it seems like they’re doing a WORSE job than the book did.

It is incredible how much love Choskey has for me. I do remember how it felt the first time I was in a relationship. How much I wanted to be my one and only love. With Kara I used to deeply hope it would last forever and I was completely enamored with her. I thought we got along so well that it was just a matter of time before we would be able to live together.
Of course she had a habit of trying out other people. She would constantly break up with me to be with someone else then come back later and at that point it felt like I was just a fallback. And I didn't hesitate to jump to Red when I started falling for him. Honestly it would have been better for Kara if we had gone the open relationship route.
Choskey is experiencing something very similar except with someone who's very experienced with relationships. With Red, with Kara, and with trying and failing to be with someone. It is looking extremely good now and the more people Choskey tells about me the more secure our relationship becomes, although even without that locking in Choskey clearly enjoys being around me in every way possible. Love, lust, someone to play things and spend time together with, someone to share thoughts and feelings with, and even someone to help him whenever he has trouble with school or otherwise.
And the fact that I can just be there on call with him 24/7 is an added bonus. I know most people couples included don't really do that, but this is something we both wanted. Even before we got together Choskey used to complain about how lonely he was when I wasn't there. The can't do things alone part on his bio isn't just for show. And given that he experiences depression on a level similar to Red, I could see why, and why me fulfilling the role of always being there for him is so important.
Cause when you experience depression you definitely experience it more when you're alone, or feel alone, and your thoughts wander more in the negative direction, often getting exponentially worse with time. By me being there that time gets reduced significantly, and I'm a shoulder to cry on if the need ever arises, but more importantly I'm always there to distract, I'm always there to have fun with or share things that would otherwise go unvalidated, and that definitely helps.
He loves me "too much", in other words we've stopped holding ourselves back when it comes to our feelings. And he is over the moon because of me. I offer hope. I offer a future where we continue to enjoy ourselves together but get to experience the real life/physical contact part of things too, even if some of it is limited by the ace thing. And to someone who is unsure programming would be for them, unsure their life mattered, wondering if his family would be better off without him there, I am everything to him. Me and Red. I also offer insight and advice and thoughts on how to actually get his career off the ground and if I wasn't there to curve his pessimism there likely would be no chance of it moving forward.
I am needed on every possible level. And I deliver pretty reliably too. And in return my own life is given purpose. Beyond just the pure bliss that comes from being loved in return so receptively by my crush, it suddenly no longer matters that I'm not coding games like I planned among other things. It suddenly doesn't matter we haven't been hanging out with our pack anymore. Everything about my old life from furry cons to going out to social events doesn't matter anymore. Because I am experiencing happiness elsewhere. I am experiencing a thriving social life in vrchat and in discord that I never thought I would have that doesn't require me to wait forever for Red to feel social again. And on top of that I have Choskey's friends and family that become part of my social life. And I'm so much more connected now. I'm so much less alone now because of Choskey. And everything I experience matters so much more now because I am loved and cared for. Choskey does his best to be a good boyfriend for me and he's extremely good at it. Even the effort alone I likely wouldn't have experienced were it anybody else. Anybody who was more normal, less needy, less likely to be on call all day like we do, or more experienced and more focused on other things besides making me happy.
Red in particular is more the normal. He used to call me on breaks when he was stuck in UT. But we wouldn't stay on a call we wouldn't try to sneak in time like that during work. Because Red does everything by the book. It is part of his personality, and duty, rules, and proper work ethic is more important to him than most other things. And he steered away from joining me on Twitter in the public side of things, enough that it made me look bad when I... tried to be social on it. Moreso than it would have been if he was a little less uptight and private.
Choskey hasn't used Twitter much either before me but he gave it a try because of me. He is willing to do most things with me that Red wouldn't even give a chance because of how he is. And that in turn gives me more credibility on social media. Gives me a stronger position. Not that I need it anymore. But it would be very helpful if I ever got cyber bullied again. Though I'm also not sure what I would be cyber bullied for anymore. Even after years of Choskey and Red I highly doubt I'm going to having any other crushes. Choskey rather thoroughly covers my emotional and activity needs that Red wasn't able to and ironically my sexual needs as well despite being ace. Though I'm not sure how easy it will be to masturbate when we start living together xP It will be interesting.
Choskey's bottom energy is also something I never experienced before him and it is a very interesting and exciting experience. With him begging me to ravage him or saying a lot of suggestive things whenever he's horny, which my voice alone makes him horny xD It is achingly impossible to remain soft. And that's enough for me.
As far as actual sex goes. I know me and Red have stopped doing anything. But at the same time I know how physically demanding it is for him tearing his lips over me with no guarantee I'll even get off. There is a lot of mental activity during the act that makes it difficult to get off when he's on me, not to mention he's not that great at what he does. And there is the added issue of me jerking off all the time that makes me rarely if ever pent up. And orgasm denial that Red often does to me doesn't fix it. And whenever there is a promise we'll return to it we don't. I know for a fact that if I got denied I am clear to take care of it myself. But yeah I do think a lot. Whether I try harder to get off to whatever I'm feeling or hold back doesn't seem to matter.
I do know for a fact that I wish I could experience what other people experience when it comes to sex and that would likely do it, but I don't have options. Choskey isn't going to cover that either, no matter how unhinged or lustful he gets when he's horny to the point he would let me "do whatever I want to him" I know for a fact that's not actually true. But even if he won't cover that either, the fact that he can excite me in other ways and Red doesn't even try is already something he can cover better than Red.
Red is the sheer definition of abstinence. I have to push him in order to get anything. And it's always been that way. So Choskey is definitely a breath of fresh air. And the fact that he is constantly trying to get Red to love him back and make him part of our relationship is another huge plus. Red needs happiness. In ways that I have had a very difficult time getting through. Whether it's gunfire reborn, or lol, or risk of rain or a bunch of other games, Red usually says no to them. And I'm more likely to stop trying. Choskey is always trying. Even if so far that has had an extremely low success rate because of how busy Red is, the fact that he's trying while I'm not is a benefit for Red that he wouldn't otherwise have. Choskey is persistent, and very good for both of us. Choskey is what will keep our relationship flourishing and offer me a social life that Red has stopped having any interest in. Red's life is swallowed by work. My life is not. It is Red's sacrifice that makes it possible and on some level it is the only thing that makes him feel purpose. Makes him feel needed. Inventing, crafting, art, programming, job security, the ever tempting life of an entrepreneur is how Red bases his life. I would have a difficult time living the way I do if I constantly had to worry about laundry, dishes, etc, and Red not only does it for me but wants to. It is difficult however to find activities, to find time to watch or do anything. Red gives up too quickly or forgets to reinstate any activity we start. Choskey's persistence will at least show continuous support for him that I would otherwise not do because of the low success rate and availability.

congrats on tying up most of the strings you set up but there's too many of them loose rn and i don't think the showmakers are planning to wrap them up which is disappointing
felt like the wedding took up too much of the time? maybe it's cause i didn't grow w yj that i don't feel so connected to supermartian but i wanted more Plot
overall really the most i can give it is 7/10 and that's slightly stretching it

as a gesture of goodwill lena let's any of the superfriends ask questions and she has to answer as best as she can. she expects questions about why she turned into a supervillian and how she expects them to trust her again, however it takes about three minutes for them to start abusing this power. lena almost cries when nia asks why they can't just print more money.
“C’mon, Luthor. We’ve all done it. Now it’s your turn.”
Alex’s voice is slurred, and she’s leaning so heavily into Kelly’s side on the couch that she’s practically horizontal. Her cheeks are flushed – a byproduct of the obscene quantities of alcohol consumed thus far – but her expression is dogged, determined.
“Yeah!” Nia crows from the floor, allowing Brainy to prop her upright when she sways dangerously. “Come on, Lena, it’ll be fun. Five minutes of our questions and you have to answer honestly. Totally n’completely honestly.”
Lena blanches. “I’m not sure—”
“You gotta!” Nia half-yells, then seems to catch herself under Brainy’s disapproving gaze. “I mean, you don’t gotta,” she continues more quietly. “Only if you wanna. But s’good for us. It’s fun. Rebuilding trust. Open communication. S’right, isn’t it, Kelly?”
Kelly, the most sober of the group by a country mile, purses her lips. “I’m not sure this is exactly what I had in mind when I suggested trust-building—”
“We’ve got the spirit,” Alex mumbles into her girlfriend’s shoulder as Nia slaps Brainy’s thigh, grinning. “No, s’better.”
“I’m not sure it is better,” Kara mumbles from her position on the floor, leaning against the armchair Lena’s sitting in. Her cheeks are still beet-red, a lingering reminder of her own turn in the honesty hot-seat during which she’d admitted – under much duress – to having had a crush on Simba the lion during her adolescence. Simba the animated lion.
“You don’t have to,” she twists to murmur, chin propped on Lena’s knee as she stares up at her with earnest blue eyes. “Ignore them. You don’t have to do or say anything you’re not comfortable with.”
“No, it’s fine,” Lena says, to convince herself as much as the blonde currently tracing light patterns up and down Lena’s calf with her fingernails. “It’s just like truth or dare, except nobody will dare me to buy Fox News this time.”
She fixes Nia with a pointed look. The brunette at least has the good grace to look a little abashed.
“You already bought one media empire for a friend,” Nia shrugs, and there’s a pointed significance to her tone that Lena flatly decides not to acknowledge. “What’s one more?”
Lena ignores her, distracted by the way Kara’s head has lolled so that her cheek rests against Lena’s thigh. Her wandering hand has slid up Lena’s calf to cup the back of her knee, and Lena struggles to remember the point she’d been attempting to make.
“It’s all good,” she smiles down at Kara’s furrowed brow, aiming for reassurance and praying she makes it. “Since I’ve heard about Kelly stealing a McDonald’s sign in college and Nia accidentally texting lingerie photos to her boss, the least I can do is return the favour.”
She swallows hard, squares her shoulders. “It’s just a game.”
Just a game, just a game, she chants in her head as a constant reminder. She can handle a game. Even if it does require her own brutal honesty in front of people she’d once considered family but who, for a while there, had maybe almost definitely been prepared to kill her.
She bites the inside of her cheek hard, trying not to let her anxiety show. What the hell are they going to ask her? An awful lot of alcohol has been consumed tonight, and Alex and Nia in particular aren’t known for their tact and discretion at the best of times. Stomach twisting with nerves, she considers the sorts of thinly-veiled accusations that might come her way.
Why did you use Kryptonite on Kara? How do you feel about finally living up to the Luthor name? Are you planning on mind-controlling all of humanity again in the near future?
Lena digs her fingernails hard into her denim-clad thigh, trying to school her features into a semblance of open neutrality. Trying to fathom a way to get through this game with both her newfound oath of honesty and her fragile heart intact.
Kara’s eyes fall on Lena’s tensed fingers and she pries them out of the meat of her thigh, lacing them with her own and giving Lena’s hand a reassuring squeeze. Lena smiles weakly down at her as Nia sets a timer on her phone.
“Okay, five minutes on the clock,” the brunette slurs. “Go!”
For a moment, the room is deathly silent. Lena’s heart is in her throat, her stomach down somewhere around her ankles as she waits for the inevitable laundry list of her many sins to be hung out to dry.
One second, the only sound is the ticking of Kara’s ridiculously gaudy goldfish wall clock. The next, the floodgates open.
“Would you allow me to partner with you on L-Corp’s newest black-body radiation project?” Brainy asks at the exact moment Nia yells, “Will you take me shopping?”
Lena blinks, a little blindsided. Nia misinterprets her hesitance, backtracking so quickly her garbled speech is almost unintelligible. “I don’t mean pay for me,” she huffs at Alex’s incredulous eyebrow raise, turning back to Lena. “I just mean, teach me how to dress. You always look so good.”
“I, um. Yes?” Lena manages, smiling at both Nia and Brainy as her alcohol-clouded brain tries to catch up with the unexpected turn of events. Satisfied in the first round of questioning, the group winds up for a second onslaught.
“Who’s the most famous person in your phone contacts?” Kelly smiles at her. “Apart from Supergirl, of course.”
“Are you richer than Elon Musk?” Nia chimes in. “Do you sleep on a bed of money? Actually, do you sleep at all?”
“What’s the most embarrassing thing you’ve ever done while drunk?” Alex smirks. “Is it worse than the time Kara convinced you to sing N*Sync karaoke with her?”
“I should like to learn how to fence,” Brainy says solemnly, intertwining his fingers with Nia’s. “It is a complex and highly-skilled activity requiring both strategic planning and an excellent understanding of mechanical physics, in addition to athleticism. It is thus the ideal means for me to, as Nia puts it, get some bounce in my buns. Would you be willing to practice with me?”
“If I eat one whole salad, will you come with me to try the new waffle place on Third?” That’s Kara, of course, blinking up at her big and angelic. “And promise not to order the healthiest thing on the menu?”
Nia narrows her eyes, smirking as she circles round for another go. “Is that your natural hair colour?”
Lena does her best to parry the volley of questions with smiles and nods and gasped-out answers before the next request hits her like a missile. It’s overwhelming in the best way, to be the centre of attention for good, for once. The room is noisy and warm and every face around the coffee table is smiling at her and Lena thinks, maybe they’ll be okay, in the end. Maybe they’ll be okay, after all.
“Okay,” Nia drawls three minutes in, head pillowed in Brainy’s lap ever since she’d gotten too excited in her questioning and forgotten how to hold herself up. “You’re, like, a literal genius. If you can’t explain it to me, no one can.”
Kelly’s brow furrows. “I’m not sure this is the type of question—”
“No, I wanna know,” Nia huffs. “Leeeeeena, make it make sense! Like, why can’t they just print more money though? Then we could all be billionaires.”
Lena frowns. “I mean, economics isn’t my specialty but I’m fairly sure that wouldn’t—”
“But why not?” Nia insists. “Like, we can make money. We can just make it, so. Let’s make more.”
Lena glances helplessly around the room, but it seems she won’t be getting any support in this matter. Brainy and Kelly look too tired and/or drunk to be of any use in quelling Nia’s barrage of questions, while the Danvers sisters seem genuinely invested in hearing Lena’s answer.
“I think it’s a great plan,” Nia continues. “We just print money until we have enough. No more poverty. Yay!”
Lena winces at the incognizable logic, thanking God her college economics professor isn’t here to witness this trainwreck. “The price of everything would go up,” she tries weakly. “Inflation—”
“Okay,” Nia cuts her off, unperturbed. “But we create prices, right? We create markets. So let’s just, you know. Not.”
“Not?” Lena echoes feebly, despair mounting.
“Yeah,” Nia drawls, slapping her hand around blindly on the floor until her fingers find her beer bottle and she can take a long pull. “We made up money. We made up all of it. So let’s just, like. Un-make-up poverty. Print money for everyone!”
Lena’s mouth opens and closes hopelessly. She doesn’t even know where to begin. It’s so wrong, all of it, every single thing Nia has said. But she doesn’t have the slightest clue how to go about answering. At this point, she’s not even sure what the original question was. She’s not sure Nia is either.
Blessedly, Kara decides to once again utilise her almost preternatural ability to detect Lena’s inner turmoil, slapping a hand on the coffee table with finality. “No more money questions,” she only very slightly slurs, fixing her protégé with a firm stare. “You’re wasting all our time. Nia is banned from questions for one whole minute.”
She bangs her fist on the table again, a makeshift gavel. Nia pouts, slouching back into Brainy’s lap with a huff.
“I’ve passed my ruling; court is adjourned,” Kara says solemnly, pretzel crumbs shaking themselves free from her sweater as she addresses the room. “Someone else may take the stand.”
“Nia does not appreciate the personalised poetry I write for her,” Brainy sniffs, mock-glaring down at his girlfriend. “Lena, if I recite my most recent sonnet to you, would you tell me—”
“No!” Alex, Kara and Nia yell in unison. Lena shrugs apologetically as Brainy’s mouth snaps shut with a disgruntled click, his frown softening only when Nia reaches up to stroke a loving hand against his cheek.
“How much money do you spend on kale in a year?” Kara asks suddenly, eyes narrowed. “Is it more than my couch is worth, d’you think?”
Lena shrugs, and Kara’s face twists in horror. “More than the cost of my TV?”
Another shrug. Kara appears genuinely close to tears, eyes wide and lower lip trembling. “More than the cost of my apartment?”
Lena smiles and pats her cheek as Alex perks up, eyes gleaming. “Did you kill Morgan Edge?” she asks eagerly, drunkenness momentarily forgotten. “Is that why he just disappeared? Don’t worry, I promise I won’t tell anyone. In fact, I thought about doing it myself.”
Lena gapes, caught somewhere between laughter and outrage. “Did I—? No I did not.”
“Did Kara kill him for you?” Alex volleys without missing a beat. “And you’re covering for her? I swear I won’t arrest either of you. Scout’s honour.”
“You were never a Girl Scout,” Kara accuses, and Lena’s mouth drops open.
“That’s your problem with what she just said?”
Kara just shrugs amiably, scooting her way in between Lena’s legs so she can lean her head back in her lap, whining in the back of her throat until Lena reaches out a hand to card her fingers absentmindedly through her hair.
“Can you design me a suit that lets me fly?” Nia asks, ignoring Kara’s protests that her minute-long ban has not yet expired. “Not that I don’t love Supergirl piggybacking me home after a fight, but it would be way cooler if I could do it myself.”
“Um. I can try,” Lena offers, and the way the young woman beams at her makes her feel warm from head to toe.
The timer on Nia’s cell phone is ticking down, and with less than half a minute left Kelly leans forward suddenly, her expression gentle.
“I have a question for you,” she starts, and Lena braces herself. “What can we do to show you how much we appreciate you?”
Lena blinks. “I’m— sorry?”
Kelly’s lips curve up in a knowing smile. “I’m serious, Lena. I know it’s taken a lot for you to decide to work on re-strengthening your relationships with all of us. We’d have been lost without your help fighting your brother and honestly, we were all a little lost in general when you weren’t around.” Her eyes flick to Kara who nods emphatically, rolling her head to press a sloppy kiss to Lena’s thigh.
“Forgiveness and healing are a two-way street,” Kelly continues, and beneath the warmth of the therapist’s gentle attention Lena feels her eyes begin to mist over. “So, that’s my question. How can we make up for the pain we’ve caused you? How can we show you how much you mean to us?”
“Yeah,” Nia chimes in as Lena’s throat tightens against the hot sting of tears. “Do you have any inventions that stop people being stupid? Can you use it on all of us, so we never do anything that makes you want to leave us again?”
“How can I show you how sorry I am?” Alex asks quietly at the same moment Kara murmurs, “Do you think you’ll ever be able to forgive me?”
“We’re not trying to put any pressure on you,” Kelly cuts in, shooting a hard glance at both Danvers sisters who duck their heads in sync, suitably chastised. “You don’t have to say anything right now. But think about it, yeah?”
Lena nods because she can’t do anything else, throat closed over as she lifts her chin, trying to blink the gathering tears back into her lacrimal glands. The room falls quiet for a moment and the loving weight of the gazes fixed upon her is so overwhelming that Lena almost sobs in relief when Nia’s phone timer shatters the silence.
“Aw, nuts,” Nia pouts. “I had one more question!”
Sensing the way Lena stiffens, Kara shakes her head. “Nope. Finito. Adios, amigo.”
“But it was a really good one,” Nia complains. “I swear.”
“Nia, you’ve had your—” Kelly starts but Nia’s already yelling over her. “Can I hug you?”
Her earnest gaze roots Lena to the spot like a deer in the headlights and she’s barely nodded her acquiescence when Nia is rocketing unsteadily towards her. “Pile on!” she yells and the next thing Lena knows five pairs of arms are looping their way around her in various uncomfortable-looking contortions. Alex rests her chin on the crown of Lena’s head, Nia and Kelly taking a shoulder each while Brainy contents himself with patting the back of Lena’s hand comfortingly.
Kara has all but climbed into her lap, knees straddling Lena’s thighs as she presses her face to the crook of Lena’s neck, breath ghosting hot over her skin. The entire configuration is stiflingly warm and objectively uncomfortable and Lena’s pretty sure she has someone’s knee making a home in her kidney and at least two separate arms pulling painfully on her hair, and she’s not sure she’s ever been happier.
“Missed you,” Nia all but drools against Lena’s shoulder, head lolling as unconsciousness beckons. “Love you.”
Lena’s throat tightens again as the others repeat the sentiment, disembodied hands stroking over her hair, her back, her shoulders. She feels like the world’s most pampered house cat, petted and patted to within an inch of her life, and she’s just drunk enough that she never wants the sensation to end. Maybe she’ll start purring.
“Yeah,” Kara mumbles straight into Lena’s skin, her voice vibrating through Lena’s body and settling somewhere hot and deep. “Yeah. Missed you, Lena. Love you,” she hums, quiet and close. “I love you.”
Lena doesn’t know if the others overhear Kara’s whisper. In this moment, she doesn’t know anything at all, anything that exists outside of the blissful weight of Kara’s body atop her own, of Kara’s strong hands moulded tenderly to her hips, of Kara’s lips pressing warm and deliberate to the underside of her jaw.
Lena’s brain has vacated the premises entirely, along with her capacity to convert air into useable oxygen. Rendered immobile by more than just the five bodies pressing her into the armchair, she tugs one trapped arm free to fist tightly in the front of Kara’s sweatshirt.
One of Kara’s hands vacates its position on her hip and pries her fingers free only to intertwine them with her own and squeeze tightly, and somehow the gesture feels like even more of an earnest declaration than her words had.
It feels like a chance. It feels like a promise.
Lena squeezes back.
“So,” Nia slurs next to her ear and Lena jumps. She’d momentarily forgotten they weren’t alone; an impressive feat considering her current bottom-of-the-hug-pile position.
Nia’s head lolls on her shoulder, her eyelids fluttering shut. “Not that this isn’t an adorable moment,” she drawls as she pats Lena’s cheek clumsily, and Lena almost loses an eye to her flailing fingers. “But are we gonna talk about how I just solved world poverty, or…?”

a handful of plausible lies
or: the one where lena’s evil post-reveal plan is to just throw kara’s paper-thin disguise trick right back in her face.
1.
“Lena!”
She shows up at Kara’s apartment.
In the weeks since defeating Lex, she’s barely seen Lena, hardly communicated with her at all aside from a handful of quick texts. Working. Busy. In the lab. On a business trip. Sorry. I’m fine. I’ll make it up to you. Soon. Kara’s been driving herself mad worrying something is wrong with Lena, that something has happened to her. Agonized and played back every moment they spent together in the last few months, trying to figure out if she’s done something wrong, something to offend Lena, to drive her away.
And then she shows up at Kara’s apartment, just like normal.
In a skirt and heels and sharp looking jacket, she’s clearly just come from work. But her hair is down, and when she looks up from her fidgeting hands and sees Kara, she breaks into a bright smile and the stress of the day seems to melt away.
On autopilot, Kara ushers her inside, eyes on her the whole time. They exchange pleasantries, and Lena briefly complains about her latest boring meeting. While she speaks, she rubs her nose, a gesture almost akin to pushing up one’s glasses. Kara reflexively lifts her hand to copy, and realizes her glasses aren’t there.
Luckily, Lena has suddenly decided to focus intently on the progress Kara has made on the half-finished painting sitting by the window. Kara superspeeds to her bedroom, grabbing her glasses and quickly putting her hair in a ponytail, then superspeeds back just in time for Lena to turn around.
“Hey,” Lena says softly. If it’s a little bit too much like she’s greeting Kara for the first time today, Kara misses it, to relieved that Lena has remained oblivious to her quick change. “Sorry to just drop in like this, but I’ve missed you. I was thinking we could catch up, eat an unholy amount of junk food? If you’re free…?”
“For you? Always.”
2.
It’s not planned, but they’ve been texting back and forth all morning. Lena hasn’t said it in so many words, but Kara knows she’s going to take at most a fifteen minute lunch break and eat a couple of granola bars.
So Kara makes a detour several miles out of her way after interviewing someone out in the suburbs drops in when she’s in the neighbourhood with lunch that she crossed the city specifically to pick up from one of Lena’s favourite places grabbed on the way.
When she enters the office, Lena is there waiting for her, wearing a lab coat over slacks and a button up shirt, her hair in a practical ponytail. “Lena, hi!”
Lena looks up, but rather than return her greeting, she frowns.
“I’m sorry Miss Danvers, I’m Doctor Kieran. I don’t believe we’ve met.” Lena – Doctor Kieran? – holds out her hand politely for Kara to shake. She does so automatically, to bewildered trying to process what’s happening.
“But – you – I mean – Lena?”
“I’ve been told we look alike, but I’m not my boss,” Doctor Kieran says, putting on Lena’s polite business smile. She turns her back to Kara, releasing her hair from the ponytail and slipping out of the lab coat. Kara can’t see her hands, but they seem to be moving as if – yep. She’s definitely undone an extra button on her shirt. And she’s facing Kara now, professional mask replaced by an easy smile. “Kara, hi! I wasn’t expecting you.”
Kara dumbly offers the bag of food. Lena takes it eagerly, opening it and dividing out their food. Because of this, and the smile, and the shirt open a little too far to be professional, she ignores Lena’s apparent temporary insanity.
Honestly, it’s mostly the shirt.
3.
She’s at Lena’s office again, dropping late on a Friday evening when she noticed the lights still on. There’s two laptops and a tablet and stacks of papers strewn all over the desk, and boxes of more papers on the coffee table. But Lena has apparently decided to call it a night even without Kara’s prompting, standing over at the bar and pouring herself a drink.
She’s wearing a dark suit, a deep purple shirt, and a black-on-black floral patterned tie, and her hair tied back in a sleek braid. It’s a little bolder than usual, but still very much her style. The dark framed glasses perched on her nose are a bit more out of the ordinary, though.
“I thought we talked about you working too late, Lena.”
“Lutessa,” she replies in a clipped tone, her accent a little more prominent than usual.
“What?”
“I’m Lutessa,” she explains, as if Kara should already know this. “The evil twin.”
“The – twin?”
Lutessa rolls her eyes at Kara, walking back to the desk to close the laptops. “Of course, she didn’t tell you. Typical.”
“Lena – Lutessa – Lena doesn’t have a twin. I know her. I know her family. She – wait. Evil twin? You’re just admitting it?” Suddenly, that last bit crashes through her befuddlement to properly register. She stands up a little straighter, her voice turning a little harder. “What have you done to her?”
Lutessa hardly pays any attention to her, saying dismissively “Relax. I know better than to try anything with Supergirl around.” She does look up Kara then, a piercing stare to accompany her alter ego’s name.
Dumbfounded, and still trying to process everything, Kara asks “But… why wouldn’t she tell me?”
“Sometimes friends tell lies,” she says, her face still hard and her eyes still locked with Kara’s. “Even about important things.”
It hits her like a physical blow, like a fistful of kryptonite. Not the words, or the look. But the way her voice breaks a little at the end.
“I’m – I – I need to go. I need to go.”
She turns and flees from the office, not seeing the way Lutessa’s – Lena’s – face drops, not hearing her call Kara’s name.
+1
“Hi,” she says softly when Lena opens the door of the penthouse, barely daring to meet her eyes. “Can we talk?”
“Of course.”
Kara gives her a brief, sad smile and follows her in. Lena sits on the couch, and Kara joins her. But only for a moment before springing up again and pacing back and forth in front of it.
“Kara,” Lena starts, filling the silence, “I’m sor – ”
“Please, just let me?” Kara says, cutting her off. Lena nods. Kara takes a deep breath, then kneels down in front of Lena, taking her hands. “I’m sorry, Lena. I know I hurt you, and that’s the last thing I ever wanted to do. If I could go back and change it, I would. I just need you to understand, that this wasn’t about your family. I have always trusted you; you have always been my hero.” Lena gasps sharply then, her grip on Kara’s hands tightening, unshed tears glistening in her eyes as she nods. “I was scared Lena, I was so scared. You just suddenly became one of the most important people in my life, the only person I could really connect with as just Kara, and I couldn’t lose you. I can’t lose you. I tried to convince myself it was enough having you as my – as Kara Danvers’ best friend. I wanted to tell you, I wanted to – take that next step. But I couldn’t stand the thought of losing you, or what we had changing. Please Lena, I just need you to understand. Whatever happens now, I – we, our friends, trust you. We love you. Even if you hate me, I need you to understand you’re not alone.”
Lena nods again, then takes a deep, steadying breath.
“I think I’ve known for a long time, even before Lex told me.” Kara looks up suddenly, but something on Lena’s face says later, so she lets it pass. “Maybe even right from the start. And I know you don’t want to hear it, but I am sorry too. For not saying anything sooner, for letting it get to this point, and for how I’ve acted the last few weeks.”
“Lena – ”
“No,” she says firmly, cutting off Kara’s protest. “We both made mistakes. You’ve apologized, and so have I. It’s done, we can learn from it, and we can move on.”
“You don’t hate me?” Kara asks, her voice so tiny and vulnerable.
“Oh, Kara. Even when I was angry with you, I could never hate you.”
She opens her mouth, but chokes on the words and all that comes out is a sob. She lets go then, hiding her face in Lena’s lap and crying freely. A whispered <I’m sorry, I’m sorry,> over and over, as Lena works one hand free to stroke her hair. The grip on Kara’s other hand tightens. Eventually Lena pulls on it, lifts it up, and Kara feels Lena’s lips brush against the back of her hand.
When Kara is all cried out, when her whispered apologies and Lena’s soft, sweet words of comfort have both passed into a comfortable silence, she lifts her head. Lena is right there looking back, concern and her own tears on her face. Gently, so gently, she wipes some of the wetness of Kara’s cheek with her thumb.
“So, this love you were talking about. Is it just a we thing, how our friends feel, or is it perhaps about how someone specific feels?” That pointed arch of her eyebrow is there, but so is her soft little smile.
Kara lets out a shaky little laugh, and drops her face back down into Lena’s lap. “If you knew my other secret, I think you know the answer to that too.”

Sewtube/Costube AU #4
A little ways into Kara's friendship with Lena, after she's been assimilated into the costube group chat, Kara sets out to build an historically-accurate-as-possible middle ages gown. She chooses rich, plush fabrics in vibrant, silky colors. Colors she would never normally wear.
She shows as much of her process as possible, collabing with medieval scholars and fashion historians to get their direct input, basically learn as much as she can about the style. She also takes time to elaborate on various misconceptions the public has on the middle ages, and gets experts to weigh in with the truth.
It's the most complicated project Kara has undertaken, a multi-part series that is heavily researched and most meticulously crafted. It's embellished and garnished to stunning effect, and even on the mannequin it's clear that it's just plain beautiful.
Just before the reveal, Kara has a segment talking to the camera.
"Well, it's almost finished. But, as some of you may have noticed, this color--and honestly the sizing of this monstrosity-- is way off for me to wear it. So, it's time to reveal the surprise: I didn't make this for me."
Kara grins, and the camera cuts to slow pan of Lena wearing the gown, fitted perfectly to her frame and her form flattered by long flowing lines. Lena's even done her long hair special, emulating the styles depicted in extant illustrations. The lighting is soft, almost holy as it illuminates regal features as intimately as it does the garment.
Lena is, simply, breathtaking.
She looks like a lady of olden days, a woman out of time. She gazes at the camera as though she were a queen, sharp eyed yet gentle. And if the camera lingers a little longer than it normally would for Kara, well... could you blame it?
After the reveal, the video cuts back to Kara, only this time Lena has joined her, still in her gown. Kara shares how big an endeavor it was, how taxing it was to plan so heavily when she's usually far more whimsical and sporadic with her projects. But overall she's pleased with the result.
As is Lena, who shares how comfortable it is and how she's noticed and appreciates the small details that Kara has stitched by hand. Lena's not an expert in medieval fashion like she is in her niche of edwardian fashion, but from what she's remembered from some of her college courses, it's as accurate as she could expect.
Lena also shares how many people enjoyed working with Kara, and how many of their non-medieval friends are pleading that Kara do a project in their niche as well so that they can participate. Kara asked good insightful questions, and worked with such respect for the people and material that she may as well go into historical fashion herself.
To which Kara blushes and demures, embarrassed to be spoken so highly of, before sharing how honored she was that so many people were willing to give their time and expertise to her project.
At the very end, Kara's smile turns mischievous. She calls on her viewership to issue a challenge-- which vintage project (of Kara's style and method) should Lena take on herself?

part 1
Despite Lex’s untimely demise, or timely depending on who you asked, bringing Luthor-Corp back under Lena’s control was a quick and easy process. That was mostly due to Kara, who had insisted that Lena build connections between the board members and employees when Lex essentially abandoned the company in his crusade against the Supers. Even gone, Kara was still saving Lena. Lena thought that it was high time she returned the favor.
Lena retreated to her personal lab two days after returning to National City and wasted no time. This wasn’t something that Lena could run multiple trials on before deeming it successful. She would only have one attempt to get this right, which meant she had to get all of her calculations exactly right on the first try. There were far too many variables to consider.
The first step, Lena figured, in travelling through time was to figure out the equation for the speed at which time passed. She quickly ran into a roadblock and reached out to the only person who might have been able to help. She was lucky that the Legends had yet to return to the temporal zone when Lena reached out to contact Gideon. She suspected that such an occurrence was more planned than it was a coincidence due to the fact that Gideon gave up the missing variable Lena needed without any fuss. A message from Sara and Ava followed, advising Lena to be careful messing with time and wishing her good luck on her mission. There was a post script from Sara telling her to say hi to Kara, when she saw her again. It seemed that Lena’s plans were more obvious than she thought, but Lena wasn’t too concerned about it. As long as no one tried to stop her, and Lena didn’t think they would, she honestly didn’t care if they knew what she was doing.
With the equation issue solved, Lena set out to answer the second and most important questions on her list: how far back should she go?
The simplest solution would be to go back to the day before that final battle, but there was no guarantee that Lena could stop Lex’s attack in time. There was still too much risk.
The second option Lena considered was going back to just after Crisis, before Lena started to wage her own personal war against Supergirl. She could keep Lex from getting too powerful, patch things over with Kara and they could take him down together. Lena shot that idea down as well. She had no idea how many contingency plans Lex already had in place at that time and no way of knowing how much damage he could do.
Lena quickly decided that the only way to keep Kara from dying at Lex’s hand was to keep Lex from ever rising to power again in the first place. But what about Kara? Lena needed to be in a time where Kara trusted her, otherwise they would never be able to work together. If this was going to work at all, they couldn’t build their friendship or anything more than that on lies.
The only way Lena could think of fixing all of this was to start all over. She needed to go back to the very beginning of her friendship with Kara.
With a date in mind, Lena began working on the final component of her trip.
Because Lena was only sending her consciousness back in time rather than physically travelling there herself, it was simple enough to build the headgear and attach it to the computer that would run the program Lena had designed for the task. Lena had the sense to leave a note addressed to Alex that explained everything that Lena was doing, just in case. She hoped that Alex would never read the note but Lena was too much of a pessimist for that. The fact that she wanted this to work so bad was probably a sign that it wouldn’t work at all.
Nevertheless, Lena resolved to try. Kara deserved that at the very least.
After checking the equations for the tenth time, Lena set the date she wanted to travel into the computer and started the algorithm. She settled on the exam table with the headpiece in place. There was no time like the present, after all, and Lena had wasted more than enough time with Kara. She wouldn’t make the same mistake again.
With her mind focused only on Kara and all the wasted time between them, Lena let her eyes fall closed and the work she had done washed through her being.
Lena awoke with a splitting headache and groaned into her pillow before her surroundings registered in her mind. Once she realized that was laying on a much more comfortable bed than the examination table in her lab, Lena sat upright in bed. She was in her bedroom, in her apartment in National City, but everything was just slightly off. It was like her apartment hadn’t been lived in yet.
With a gasp, Lena bolted from her bed, her headache forgotten as she scrambled for her phone to check the date. The model of the phone was enough to let Lena know that she had successfully made it to the past, but she needed to know the date to be sure. Lena could have cried in relief when she finally got her phone on and unlocked but she held the tears in until she was standing in her living room and had turned the television on. There, wearing a sunny smile and her original suit, was Kara. The coverage showed Supergirl stopping a collision between a school bus and semi-truck.
Lena covered her mouth as a sob escaped her throat. Kara was here, Kara was alive. Lena could save her. Lena did save her. Kara was alive, even if she had no idea who Lena was, she was alive. They had a second chance and this time Lena wasn’t going to waste a moment.
Making her way to her home office, dimly aware of the way her home seemed so unlived in with the absence of the last five years worth of memorabilia, Lena searched through her desk until she found a simple notebook bound in black leather. The notebook was small enough that Lena would be able to carry it on her person easily, which was good because that was the only way that Lena could be sure the information she put in the notebook was safe. A list of important events that would be happening in the next five years was not something that would be safe as a digital file. Even L-Corp’s servers could, and would, be hacked. Armed with a mechanical pencil and determined not to lose Kara again, Lena began writing.
The first list was much simpler than the second one that Lena wrote down. First, Lena created a to-do list for herself. Staring with what Lena considered the most important, she wrote:
befriend Kara again
befriend Supergirl
It seemed silly to list both halves of Kara’s identity as separate entities but Lena had to acknowledge the fact that she was essentially starting from scratch with both Kara and Supergirl. She would need to build a relationship with both versions of the woman she loved separately before she could be let in on Kara’s secret. Selfishly, Lena hoped it wouldn’t take her near as long to prove herself trustworthy again. Leaving complicated thoughts of time travel and relationships to be pondered over later, Lena continued with her list.
make anti-kryptonite suit
upgrade supersuit
put Lillian away
Deal With Lex
Again, Lena paused for a moment before moving on to other matters. She would have to deal with her equally complicated feelings about her family later.
build Watchtower
keep Kara alive
The last item was underlined three times.
Turning a page in her notebook, Lena began her second list. This one was more of a timeline than a list, a timeline of all the important events that would happen in the near future, from the Daxamite invasion, to Reign’s attack (Lena made a note to bring Sam to National City as soon as possible), to Red Daughter and everything that happened with Lex, to Crisis and Leviathan and finally, to the battle that had resulted in Kara’s death.
From the rules of time travel that Barry and the Legends followed, Lena knows that there will be some events that she simply cannot change. There will be things that she can’t stop from happening no matter how hard she tries, but she was okay with that. As long as Lena can minimize the damage of those events with her advanced knowledge and, most importantly, as long as she can keep Kara safe, Lena could cope with all the rest. Kara’s death would be the one thing that Lena would change, no matter if the universe wanted her to or not.
Before she could make any changes though, Lena needed to get to work. After all, it wasn’t every day that a woman got to meet the love of her life for the second time.

When it comes to talking about DBH characters who get character growth/a redemption arc, Hank is the obvious person to bring up, and there’s the obvious fandom fixation on Gavin, but what about Adam Chapman? He has an arc in the game that sort of disappears in the fray when compared to other characters but he has the literal journey that everyone wants Gavin to have. But even in comparison to others I feel like Adam completely stands on his own as a good character with so much potential as far as his past, future and motivations.
When Kara, Luther and Alice first show up at Rose’s house, Adam is outside chopping wood and literally turns them away, saying his mom isn’t just too busy to talk to them - she doesn’t WANT to. Of course this isn’t the case and Rose invites everyone inside. And Adam is PISSED.
Tumblr media
Also he’s wearing a shirt that says Average Casual Guy which is so funny
Adam is young, probably around twenty, he doesn’t seem to be away at college or anything, rather Rose says they just farm their own food to sell at the market and that’s how they scrape by. Sounds stressful, especially with a bunch of Androids living in their house. It’s obvious Adam doesn’t want them around and definitely doesn’t want any new deviants showing up, after the call for revolution that occurred with Markus’s Stratford Tower speech.
As the scene goes on, you get more information about the Chapman’s and the things they’ve been through. Rose is obviously an incredibly strong and compassionate person to be helping the Androids to this extent, but there’s no denying it’s putting her and Adam in danger. When Kara walks in on their right in the kitchen, Adam is telling Rose they need to stop getting involved, that it’s not safe, and he’s not going to back down about this issue anymore.
His outburst over this is pretty understandable, in the context of the game - even when Kara first shows up asking for Rose, Adam’s first question is, “What do you want with her?” Which I feel like isn’t just about whether Kara is an Android or not, but whether she’s someone there to bust them for having Androids in the house. And of course he’s right, because the cops come by like five minutes later to search the house. They are putting themselves in danger, and even though they’re doing the right thing, it must still be a strain on their family... and it’s clear they’ve fought about this many, many times.
So, yeah, his rejection of his mother’s desire to help the Androids comes from a place of fear for their safety, which is understandable to an extent. But he isn’t just afraid of deviants and doesn’t want to help them - he really seems to hate them, which shouldn’t be an understandable view to hold within the context of the game and the allegory of the Civil Rights Movement, and then the language he uses is like, yikes...
Tumblr media
It’s not, I understand they’re in trouble but I’m upset you’re putting us in danger, it’s something else - and of course Adam is really mad, and maybe saying something he doesn’t necessarily mean, but this does seem to reflect his view of the Androids as a whole. At this time, Adam honestly doesn’t see them as being people, which probably makes it even harder for him to understand why Rose goes so far out of her way to help them.
I mean, she sets up trips across the river which have been obviously successful, she drives them to Jericho, she has some kind of contact with or understanding of the revolution leaders because she’s able to direct Kara on where to go, and though not much is explained, her brother (and Adam’s uncle) is obviously totally cool with Androids because he’s willing to help them too. She’s clearly been doing this for a while, or at least is proactive enough to take action and do whatever she has to. She’s even willing to take care of Alice once they get across the border. Literally the hero of DBH but I digress. Adam doesn’t think Androids are worthy of the rights they’re asking for, especially when compared to humans.
What follows this is one of the most intriguing lines in the scene (to me)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
What does this mean?? We know his father passed away, and Rose says that ever since then, Adam just boils over sometimes. Maybe it happened suddenly, an accident possibly - or did he get sick? Were Androids involved somehow, like what happened with Cole? What was Rose’s husband’s opinion on Androids? Things have changed since he passed, for sure, but still. Did he hold that same “Androids aren’t alive” opinion that Adam is now expressing? Or is it just that Adam thinks if his dad were still here, he’d be able to solve this issue somehow? Maybe his dad was a politician who ran on pro-Android laws and after he died Adam has become disillusioned with his parents’ worldview ??? Maybe his father died helping Androids too and that’s why Adam rejects them so much. Or maybe his dad hated Androids so much he would have never allowed Rose to help them, and so they wouldn’t have gotten involved in the first place, in Adam’s mind. (Edited to say that apparently it’s canon that Adam’s father died of cancer though I can’t recall it specifically being said in the game, so that is definitely a sad addition to things☹️)
I’m literally just making shit up lol but I really do personally hesitate to give Adam some kind of super traumatic backstory or make him bigoted against Androids because the Black characters are already treated poorly enough in the game when it comes to those things. I’m inclined to think this is just a general outburst of missing his dad and wanting him to be there to ‘fix’ things or at least, maybe, mediate the conversation between Adam and Rose. Idk, it’s cool to speculate on, especially when other characters are given super deep dives into their literally nonexistent canon backstory, it definitely feels like there’s so much that’s unsaid here.
Obviously there’s a couple of different ways the gameplay can go after this - but one other thing I wanted to bring up was what happens if you end up with Kara at the border crossing and run into Rose and Adam there. After talking to Rose in the bathroom and making a plan to all go to her brother’s house, Kara talks to Adam outside-
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
He says he doesn’t agree with Markus’s methods (which is like.. ok.. a whole other conversation in itself)(EDIT: so apparently the answer is different if you choose the ‘pacifist’ route for Markus- Adam says that ‘seeing what Markus is doing made me realize you’re alive’ !!! Which is cool that it changes and def reflects something different about his character than if his response is always the same!) So anyway he now believes in Androids’ right to freedom and happiness. What made this come about?? Was it after interacting with Alice and Kara and Luther?? I have a theory that Rose knew Alice was an Android as soon as they showed up but just played along - maybe when Adam realized there were Android children mixed up in this too, he began to change his view on things, maybe see himself in them, or see things through his father’s eyes, wanting to protect his family and child. Maybe that’s the lens through which Adam begins to see it. It could be the peaceful pacifist revolution Markus is leading, if he is- but even if not, Adam still changes his mind.
Or, maybe after everything that’s happened, he just realizes he was being kind of an asshole about the whole thing and when it came down to it, a government that was literally going door to door searching for Androids and the people who might help them? That’s probably not the type of place Adam wants to live in. It’s definitely interesting to think about his motivations and what brought him to this point.
And even though it’s sad for Kara and Luther, I find the ending where Alice ends up with the Chapman’s really.. bittersweet-ly satisfying in a narrative way. Found family .... though of course it sounds like they were all planning on meeting at Rose’s brother’s house so they would have all been together anyway☹️
Tumblr media
🥲I feel like I had so much more to say but yeah!! I think he’s such a cool interesting character and I love that he ends up on the side of the Androids in the end. And what happens after they escape safely??? Does he start helping deviants too like Rose does? Are they going to settle down and form a commune of sorts with the other Androids who escaped? I love the idea of that loss in Adam’s life being filled up with the addition of new people who care about him, and a little sister in Alice, since he seems to be an only child. The possibilities of it all...
Adam has a sad sort of story to his past, he dislikes Androids and then comes around, he has so much potential for what happens after the revolution - and he’s not the only one!!! There are so many characters in the game that deserve a closer look but I just love Adam..

I really like the pony-matsus you drew!! Especially how they're all blank flanks cuz their neets it fits so well! Though, what do you think their cutiemarks would look like?
haha thank you!
honestly i never even watched much of mlp but i know that their cutiemarks are associated with their talent, or what their job is. sooo what are the matsus GOOD at anyway?
THIS GETS VERY LONG. CHARACTER ANALYSIS IS FUN.
Like, the obvious thing for Jyushi would be baseball, but he just LIKES baseball  he isn’t good at it. He doesn’t even know the rules! He just likes the exciting parts like running the bases and screaming HOME RUUUN even if he hasn’t actually hit one. Thats why I love the silly doofus.
I could say his talent is cheering people up but is that a good thing? He kinda does that to his own detriment, like when Oso kicked him but he was like “HAHA IM FIIIINE HAPPY HAPPY!” Or when he let his selfishness get the better of him with little Eitarou’s girlfriend. Though talents can be self defeating in real life too.. tho i dont think the actual mlp show would ever go that deep with it lol. the concept of destiny in kids media is kinda messed up when you think about it too hard right? but im getting off track.
I think his mark would be a sunflower with a goofy smile. His talent is sharing his energy with others.  :D
Tumblr media
Choro’s talent i know for SURE right away. He’s a good planner. He doesn’t follow through on them, but if making plans was his ONLY job he’d be good at it! So his mark will be a quill pen with a checkmark. a very worriedly drawn checkmark...
Tumblr media
Ichi’s cutiemark is his fragile heart. HA you thought it’d be something with the cats right? But it’s not like he even takes the cats home he just hangs out with them cuz he’s scared of people. I think Ichi would be one of those ponies who’s got more of a nebulous concept for a talent that could mean a lot of things. Most people wouldn’t say being sensitive is a good thing, but it can be right? I think it is. Ichi would probably resent it though.
Tumblr media
Oso I legit can’t think of anything right away BUT I’ve thought of the perfect pony NAME for him!!! Osoi = slow, matsu = pine... His name in equestria would be Pokey Pine!!! cmon it’s adorable it sounds like pinky pie.  I think his talent is being a good big brother even tho he’s a dumbass. It should suit their personality too so I’ll make it a deck of cards. His whole sense of self is based on being one of the pack. (plus gambling influenced it)
Tumblr media
Karamatsu's would be pretty straight forward honestly. Something about sewing. It’s implied he MAKES all that “perfecto fashion” he wears and he’s clearly good at it. If he had the drive to DO anything with it that’s a pretty decent talent right there! Not much introspection to do about this guy really, he’s pretty uh... fake on the surface on purpose lol. I wanna see more of the REAL him. (The fandom tends to characterize him as being super depressed secretly and I dont really see that... was exclusivematsu this season the REAL kara? is his motive deep down just to be pissed off at everybody? who knows man i didnt get a lot of the choices made in s3 but im ranting again)
Tumblr media
poor Totty gets so misunderstood in the way the fandom characterizes him as some unfeeling devil like how the brothers tease him. he IS a cruel little prick but its barely more than the others lets be real. I think Totty is the most clever of the group and has a sweet heart deep down. He’d get a personality based one like Ichimatsu. A candy heart wrapped in plastic.
Tumblr media
I also wanna explain the one I gave Homura too! She’s always associated with the ocean, whether it’s a tragic moment or the silly dolphin thing. But I feel like she’d get her mark RIGHT after saving Jyushi and he makes her laugh with the water trick. (While he’s still passed out too so he never realizes she got it because of him. it’s sweet) It’s supposed to mean like, there’s always sunshine after the storm, that kinda thing.
Tumblr media
YAY PONIES. lmao again I was never even a huge mlp fan I just went wild with ponies lately! Analyzing characters in this stupid show is a lot of fun. You get to really take liberties with the loose canon!

Anime I Watched This Fall
My first semester of college is officially over and the December holidays are upon us! I hoped to make one of these posts sooner, but I have been incredibly busy with schoolwork. Now that things have slowed down, let’s take sometime to reflect on things I’ve watched.
These anime are listed in chronological order and encompass everything I’ve watched from 9/1/2020 - 12/15/2020
Like always, they will be rated on a 1-10 scale; 1 meaning complete garbage, 10 meaning masterpiece. I will offer my thoughts on what I did/didn’t like about each show!
1. The God of High School - 6/10
Tumblr media
Despite the stellar animation from MAPPA and my high expectations, I was really disappointed by how this series was treated. Most of the story’s crucial elements were handled poorly. I finished this series feeling more confused about the plot than when I first began. The power system is really cool, but poorly explained. More time should have been spent on exposition and world building for this series, instead the fights were given the most screen time.
2.  Doukyuusei - 7/10
Tumblr media
I really liked the style of Doukyuusei. Granted, this was another movie I chose to watch primarily because of the hype surrounding it. The dynamic between Kusakabe and Sajou is an interesting one, and I also enjoy how the movies different acts were separated by the seasons. However, there's nothing that really sets Doukyuusei apart from other romance movies, its a little generic. Still, I enjoyed it nonetheless.
3.  Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu 2nd Season - 8/10
Tumblr media
My opinions on Re:Zero’s second season are biased. This was, by far, the sequel I was most hyped for during the summer/fall anime season. I was so happy to see the story’s continuation and I’m looking forward to the season’s second part coming sometime in January. Re:Zero is one of my all time favorite series because of the way it handles it characters and power dynamics. I also really enjoy the show’s psychological aspects. If you haven’t already, give Re:Zero a try!
4. Saint☆Oniisan (Movie + OVA) - 8/10
Tumblr media
This was a wonderful comedy. I wasn’t sure how the subject of Jesus and Buddha living together would be tackled, but it was handled wonderfully. I was laughing for pretty much the entire movie. I love the art style and little references to both Buddhism and Christianity, plus the incorporation of Japanese culture. Saint Oniisan is a bright comedy, with two eccentric main characters. If you like a show that doesn’t take itself too seriously, and need a good laugh, I can’t recommend this more.
5. Clannad: After Story - 10/10
Tumblr media
Never, while watching anime, did I cry as much as I did while watching Clannad: After Story. I didn’t realize how much I related to Okazaki until I saw him grow up in After Story. I was left sobbing, especially after episode 18. I still, to this day, cannot listen to the Dango song without tearing up. The original Clannad is nothing special, but the continuation of its story its something heartfelt, emotional, and down-to-earth. I love Kyoto Animation with all my heart, and Clannad made me appreciate everything the studio has done just a little bit more. Thank you Clannad, for reminding me about the kind of person I strive to be.
6. Nakitai Watashi wa Neko wo Kaburu - 5.5/10
Tumblr media
The art in A Whisker Away was beautiful. The story itself, however, is nothing too enjoyable. I found it difficult to like our protagonist or her love interest. Nothing about this movie is inherently memorable. The emotional climax came far too early which made the second half of the film seem long and drawn out.  All in all, the movie has a wonderful concept, I just believe it could have been so much more emotional than it was. When I watch a move, I like to empathize with the characters. It’s difficult to do when the characters aren’t given the proper exposition to be empathized with.
7.  Shikioriori - 6/10
Tumblr media
This is less of a movie and more of a collection of short stories. Flavors of Youth is something you shouldn’t watch on an empty stomach, all of the food looks incredible. The same cannot beside for the rest of this feature. The stories themselves seems heavily clichéd. Much like A Whisker Away, the initial premise is intriguing, but the execution results in something that comes across as trying too hard and carries no emotional weight with the viewer. If you plan on watching, pay more attention to the artwork and animation than the actual plot. You won’t be missing anything.
8. Vinland Saga - 7/10
Tumblr media
Vinland Saga helped me get out of the rut that Clannad: After Story. Not only does this show have a great story, its action packed with lots of interesting fights. I especially enjoyed all the Nordic history embedded within the show. Its really unlike any of the other historical anime I’ve watched. I will say, it’s gory. But, compared to all the other things I watched this time around, I finished this series the quickest. Its good, its graphic, its fast paced!
9.  Mononoke Hime - 7/10
Tumblr media
It’s ironic considering how much anime I’ve watched that I have yet to watch all of the most classic Studio Ghibli films. Princess Mononoke is grittier than most other Ghibli films I’ve seen, but it’s message is positive and its characters are wonderful. I can’t really speak ill towards classics like these. I guess maybe my one complaint is that this movie could’ve been a faster pace. Other than that... I really enjoyed everything Princess Mononoke offered! I understand why it’s so popular.
10. Howl no Ugoku Shiro - 8.5/10
Tumblr media
Can you believe it took me this long to finally watch Howl’s Moving Castle? Me neither!! This movie is so endearingly beautiful. I loved every second of it, from the characters to the soundtrack. So many iconic things come from just this one movie. I would like to take this time to thank my best friend for reminding me that Studio Ghibli films are wonderful! Thank you for watching this with me, I loved it! All in all, I regret not watching this sooner!
11. Toradora! - 6.5/10
Tumblr media
Toradora took me a while to finish, just because I lost interest about halfway through. But, I powered through it, and ended up really enjoying the show! I’m not the biggest fan of the ending, but that’s just a personal preference. Somehow, this show also made me cry? I’m not entirely sure why because Toradora! is probably the thing farthest from sad. Apart from the show’s dull slice of life moments, it was super cute! A much needed light-hearted romance.
12. New Initial D Movie: Legend 1 - 5/10
Tumblr media
Full disclosure, this is the only thing related to Initial D that I’ve ever watched. My band and I watched this expecting to hear some of that iconic Initial D music, itself all we got was a mildly confusing story about different types of cars. It was cliché and frankly a little boring. Although, I am still considering watching the original Initial D just so I can hear the music in the way it was original intended. I’ve got no other opinions on this movie. It’s best not to watch these movies without the context from the rest of the franchise.
13.  Uchuu Patrol Luluco - 7.5/10
Tumblr media
I didn’t really understand why people enjoy studio Trigger so much until I watched Space Patrol Luluco. I loved all the fun references to other studio Trigger works. I loved the humor, and I loved all the bright colors. The animation was extremely high energy, and the art style fits the show’s premise. Each episode was only 12 minutes long so it was a super quick binge. If you’re looking for something quick, light-hearted and comical, this is the perfect show to watch.
14. Orange - 7/10
Tumblr media
I owe a big thanks to a tumblr mutual for recommending this show to me! This holds the honor of making me cry by episode 3! I honestly did not expect the subject matter of this show to be as dark as it was. Usually when I see the genre ‘shoujo’ I do not associate it with a love story like that of Orange. The heavy subject matter made it a little too close to home for me, but I still really enjoyed this series. It reminds me off all the good times I had with my friends in high school, and of all the regrets I carry with myself to this day.
15. 3-gatsu no Lion - 7.5/10
Tumblr media
March Comes in Like a Lion is another show that was a bit of a slow burn for me. Each episode left me feeling emotionally drained, so I had to take a lot of breaks while I was working on watching this series. Shaft, the studio behind this anime, holds a special place in my heart because I loved their work on the Monogatari Series. March Comes in Like a Lion is a little different. It’s driving force it is characters, and it was cathartic to watch our main character transform through the entire duration of the first season. I know the show’s second season is much better, so I’ll be starting that soon!
16. Yojouhan Shinwa Taikei - 8/10
Tumblr media
I loved how artsy and smart The Tatami Galaxy is, but honestly I couldn’t watch too much at once cause it would hurt my head. I also couldn’t watch this show while I was tired because the speaking rate is much faster than typical anime. The Tatami Galaxy is so unique for its medium. I loved the different time loops and the crazy animation. The characters were fascinating. The dialogue, although very fast, it also fantastic. There’s an element of humor to this unique story telling, and I enjoyed ever minute of it!
Currently Watching:
Hunter x Hunter - 6.5/10 (As of Episode 30)
Tumblr media
I pride myself in having watched a lot of shounen anime, but I was reluctant to start Hunter x Hunter for years because I thought I would find it boring. I was oh so very wrong. Considering great shows like Naruto and Fairy Tail that fall under the same category, I expected Hunter x Hunter to be subpar in comparison. It gets a low score for two reasons. One, the power system was introduced a little too late and now I’m wondering if all the fights post episode 30 will involved nen in some way, shape, or form. Two, its still on hiatus.
Two Cursed Additions For This List
Please to do not let these be representative of my anime taste.
1.  Yarichin☆B*tch-bu - 4/10
Tumblr media
I am a CLOWN for not knowing this was 18+. The only reason I watched this was to see why everyone was talking about the pink-haired boy with the glasses and tongue piecing. I know why now, and I regret it. This was a massive mistake on my part. But hey, at the least the art and ending song kinda slap?
2. Euphoria (Dropped After 1 Episode) - 2/10
Tumblr media
If you know what I’m talking about when I say Euphoria, I am so sorry. And no, I am not talking about the HBO series. Seriously, don’t google this. Don’t watch this. Don’t interact with anything related to this. You’re probably wondering, “Then why did you watch it?” I did not watch this willingly. You see, I have a very bad habit of starting anime and then taking months to finish them. I made an ultimatum with a friend, lost, and then was forced to watch this a punishment. Not a fun experience. I’m very glad there are no GIFs of this on tumblr...

Drabble Prompt: Okay so yeah. There’s a superhero team up of at least Supergirl, Aqualad and technically Superman but he’s not really paying that much attention to Kara and Garth. But then during a calmer moment, Clark checks back on those two and sees them being sibs.
Clark didn't enjoy working with most heroes, and he especially didn't like working with Kara's friends (they always gave him these... looks. Like he was the one in the wrong when Kara was destroying buildings on live TV), but one perk was that heroes never tended to ask questions, in or out of mask. Clark can walk up to Kara and the small child that was clearly Aqualad in the fight against a giant squid half an hour earlier and not be afraid of being outed.
Kara looked up, scoffed, and halfheartedly swatted the kid's shoulder. "Garth, this is Clark. My cousin."
Clark gave the kid a smile. "Car got blown away in the fight," he lied. "Got room for one more at the bus stop?"
(Bus stops are so dang lame. He'd rather fly, honestly. But if Kara of all people was waiting for a bus, he could only assume she had hit a rough patch, and it was his duty as her little cousin to rub that in.)
Garth blinked at him. "Don't I know you from somewhere?"
"Uh," said Clark, intelligently, feeling his well-planned soliloquy flying out the metaphorical window.
"He writes nerd stories for the nerd paper," Kara said.
"That's it!" Garth cried, snapping his fingers. "Are you here to write a story about the squid?"
Clark looked at Garth, his eyes glowing with earnest excitement, then Kara. He raised an eyebrow. Is he really this clueless? Kara raised hers back. What do you think, smart guy? He clapped him on the shoulder. “Sure am, buddy! It’s not every day Superman gets to destroy an evil space squid. It’s more like a... once a month thing.”
“He usually saves the seafood for Supergirl,” Kara said, quite pointedly.
“Oh, come now, cuz,” Clark replied, enunciating for irritation, “it’s not Superman’s fault they always seem to land in Supergirl’s part of town. She’s the one who made such a big fuss about separating Metropolis for patrols, isn’t she?”
“Maybe if Superman didn’t hog all the front lines-”
Garth grabbed her elbow and Kara stopped, but only because he was pointing. “The bus is here!”
She squinted at the large object as if it deeply offended her and tossed a disgusted look at him over her shoulder. “Either join us or don’t, Clark. I’m not covering your fare.” Garth went to pat his pockets but she stopped him, slightly shaking her head. The boy looked relieved.
Clark frowned. Something unfamiliar gurgled up inside him as he watched the blonde help Garth up the step into the bus and paid his fee for him.
It was stupid of him to feel jealous. Immature. But Kara always managed to turn him back into that snotty brat he used to be. She was the iceberg of his childhood- never changing, stuck in the age he’d last seen her in thanks to that glitch in space stasis.
But here this kid was, confidently crawling up on the seat next to Kara. Shoving his phone in her face. Showing her a video of some weird toy robots. And here Kara was- not only allowing it, but encouraging it, nodding along and bumping their shoulders together. Eventually the kid hunkered down and fell asleep, snoring into her shoulder, and Kara still showed none of her usual irritation, throwing an arm around his back.
The same way she’d treated him, back in the day.
Maybe he’d just assumed that those days on Krypton- before the resentment, and the superheroing, and the constant noise of Metropolis threatened to overwhelm Kara’s ears- had been special to both of them.
It dawned on him with the same, slow creeping sensation one got sinking into a bathtub. He leaned over Garth’s head and murmured in her ear. “Are you taking the bus for him?”
Kara rolled her eyes, then shrugged. “He’s get motion sick when we fly.”
As if this was common sense.
As if Kara had ever listened to or abided by common sense.
“Bit clingy, isn’t he?” Clark said, with some distaste.
“He’s got one of those velcro-grip control moms,” she explained. “Hanging with me is a lot less pressure.”
“Ah, yes.” Clark rubbed the back of his head, more lost than ever before. “I hear that’s a problem that the youth are facing. Moms. Being velcro.”
Kara didn’t seem too put off by his attempt at humor. “Wouldn’t know.”
“Kara-”
“Don’t give that lecture, Clark. The Danvers’ and I cohabitate just fine, but I’m not like you. The Kents made your their son before you were old enough to get a pimple.”
“Jeez, relax. I wasn’t gonna go there,” Clark said, having absolutely intending to originally go there. “It’s just... surprising. Seeing you like this again. It’s been awhile since you were so... thoughtful.”
Kara scrubbed a hand through Garth’s hair. It wasn’t gentle, but it wasn’t hard enough to stir him, either. “Yeah, well,” she answered, staring out the window. “It’s been awhile since someone needed me, I guess.”

83- another sleepless night, huh? writing prompts
and here is the post reveal version of this prompt. i guess we could say it’s somewhere toward the finale, where instead of hand shakes and agreeing to take on lex, they actually ya know... make up. bonus (helpful?) andrea rojas because i do what i want.
Kara slams the backspace key of her laptop in frustration. She watches the letters of the few words she's written get swallowed whole, returning her to the beginning. It's almost midnight, and she's no closer to finishing this stupid article for Andrea than when she started. She sighs loudly, staring at the screen. She doesn't want to write about millennial fashion, or any fashion for that matter, but she has no choice. Andrea made it clear that she's on a limited beat, and an even tighter leash, and all of it is just impossible.
"Burning the midnight oil, Ms. Danvers?" Andrea's voice drifts over the quiet din. There's no one else in the office, which means no one to run interference from Andrea's prying eyes. Kara doesn't want to talk to her boss, and she definitely doesn't want to give an update. She wants to stew over her blank document in peace, and let her mind drift over more important things. She doesn't want to face Andrea's smiling scrutiny, or her sarcastic tone, or think about the way she reminds her so much of Lena that she wants to rip her own hair out.
Kara grits her teeth in frustration, nodding silently. "Yep," she mutters, keeping her face trained on her laptop. Andrea appears at her door in seconds.
"Well, you're just full of surprises, aren't you?"
Kara huffs. It's condescending, and she knows it. Andrea thinks she's lazy, and argumentative, and honestly, maybe she's right. Kara is tired of caring. She isn't here to please Andrea. She thought journalism was about something more -- about relentlessly pursuing a story no matter what, in order to expose the truth. Instead, she's writing about "athleisure" and answering reader questions about high waisted jeans. She ignores Andrea and glances at her phone. She hasn't had a text message in hours, not even from Alex. It's a quiet night in National City and she should be thankful, but really she's just anxious. There's a familiar name in her phone that hasn't reached out in so long, it's beginning to feel infinite. She doesn't know if she and Lena will ever get back to where they were, even if they aren't truly at odds anymore. Maybe there has been too much said, maybe there has been too much damage done. The lack of closure is enough to drive her to distraction. But her phone remains silent, with only the clock to keep her company.
11:45 and silent.
"I'm glad to see you working hard on this," Andrea says again, blithely unaware of Kara's attempts to deflect her conversation.
"Yep, just focused on this deadline," Kara says through gritted teeth, not even trying to hide her annoyance. Andrea only comes around when she wants something, so Kara braces for a bizarre request. She's not in the mood to play nice or get into an extended conversation, but she also can't afford to get fired.
Andrea pauses at the threshold, pursing her lips. Kara feels the way she lingers, but she chooses to ignore it.
"Can I give you some advice?" Andrea eventually asks, approaching slowly. It's rhetorical, Kara knows. She's going to say whatever she wants anyway. Kara's cheeks go hot. She wants to tell her to mind her business. That no, she's fine in the advice department, thanks. But instead, she simply looks up and offers a blank stare.
"Go see her," Andrea says directly. "Don't let time pass you by."
"What do you--"
"I've known Lena for longer than most--" Andrea interrupts. The way she says Lena's name stops Kara from arguing. "And I've hurt her more than anyone."
"I'm not sure about that," Kara mumbles, rolling her eyes.
"Trust me," Andrea insists. She takes a step in toward Kara's desk, which forces Kara's attention to float to her face. Andrea's eyes are cast down, and she chews on her lip the way she does when she's particularly displeased. "It pains me to say this, but I know how she feels about you."
"What do you mean?" Something shifts in Kara's chest at the suggestion.
Andrea's eyebrow raises sharply. "Don't make me spell it out, Kara. You're not as naive as everyone thinks."
"Okay," Kara gulps.
"She's already forgiven you," Andrea says matter-of-factly. "She just needs help admitting it."
"I don't know," Kara says, her heart rate picking up considerably. Can she really trust Andrea to be acting in her best interest? "Why are you helping me?"
"It's not for you," Andrea says sharply. She glances at her watch, clicking her tongue. She looks back at Kara, her mouth slightly open in exasperation. "What are you waiting for?"
Kara slaps her laptop closed. "Thanks, Andrea," she says, shouldering past her in an effort to get to the elevator before Andrea reconsiders.
"Thank me by finishing that article."
It's been ages since Kara has gone to Lena's apartment as herself. As Kara. She toys with the idea of landing on the balcony with her cape billowing slightly behind her, but it doesn't feel right. She doesn't want the crest. Not tonight.
She lands softly and discards the suit, opting for the front entrance. A new beginning, as herself.
It's past midnight by the time she approaches, but Lena’s light is on, as always. Kara knocks softly.
There's a quiet rustling, and a muffled "Who is it?" behind the door. Kara clears her throat.
"It's me," she says, her voice cracking. "It's--"
The door opens before she can finish.
"Kara," Lena breathes, her eyes wide with surprise. "Is everything okay?"
"Hi," Kara says quickly. Her mouth is terribly dry. Sometimes she forgets just how stunning Lena is. Especially when she hasn't seen her for awhile. It's always unnerving, no matter how many times it happens. "Yes! Yes, everything is fine. I just noticed your light was on. Another sleepless night, huh?" Kara chuckles nervously, unsure what to do. She didn't actually plan before coming over here, which is glaringly obvious now that she's nervous and tongue tied.
"You seem surprised," Lena says softly, a teasing smile on her lips.  "Do you want to come in?"
"Thanks," Kara says, relieved. She follows Lena into her apartment, over to her couch. They haven't sat on it together since Kara thought they were still friends, when she tried to make up for her transgressions by bringing her all her favorite foods. The memory aches in her chest.
They sit in awkward silence, fidgeting amongst themselves until they both start speaking.
"I--"
"Kara--"
Lena's cheeks flush an attractive crimson, and Kara's entire body feels molten. They both bring their eyes sheepishly to the ground, careful to avoid disrupting each other again.
"You can go," Kara insists after a pause.
Lena studies her hands, working her fingers delicately. Her wrist flexes, and Kara is mesmerized. She always had the loveliest, most capable hands. Lena catches her eye finally.
"You aren't wearing your glasses," Lena muses, and it’s so unexpected that Kara unconsciously brings her hand to her eyes. It's a journey of emotions -- first, fear that she's forgotten something crucial, that she's showed up completely unprepared and wrong. But then the cold realization that there are no more walls between them, and what it means, settles in her gut. She lets her hand hang down slowly. "I'm still getting used to it," Lena explains softly.
"I'm sorry--"
"No," Lena shakes her head, smiling. "It's nice. I'm just-- I'm glad you came."
"Me too."
There's an awkward silence, and all Kara can hear is the humming of the dishwasher, an indicator that Lena's out of scotch tumblers. Which means she isn't doing so great, either.
"I wasn't ready to forgive you, before," Kara says, trying to square her shoulders and find the strength to confront this. "After everything, and all the lies, I just kept expecting you to let me down with another con. And you didn't. You just kept showing up, over and over, and I-- I wanted so badly to go back to how we were. But I didn't know if I could get hurt like that again."
"You didn't deserve that," Lena says, hanging her head.
"Neither did you."
"I got lost in the madness of it all. I've always been susceptible," Lena smiles wickedly, her self-deprecation on display. She sighs, her eyes softening. "Part of me kept waiting for you to rescue me."
Kara frowns, her pulse racing. "But I tried -- I did everything I knew how--"
Lena's mouth twitches, her chin quivering. "Not Supergirl." She swallows hard. "You."
Kara's mouth hangs open... She thinks of all the times after - how almost every single time she saw Lena after confessing her identity, she was National City's hero. She was Supergirl, and she was free of pretending -- but in the process, she was someone unknown. It was always heavy, their interactions always pleading and begging on behalf of greater interests, never just them.
"Lena," Kara's voice quivers. "But it was always me."
"Was it?"
Kara hesitates. She isn't sure how to answer that.
"What did you say when you told me why you kept it from me for so long?" Lena asks, her eyes welling with tears. "I was so angry at Supergirl-- but I loved Kara." Lena hesitates, taking a watery breath. "I've always loved Kara."
It hits like a hurricane, and Kara has to remember how to breathe. She inhales sharply. Lena doesn't say anything more.
"And now?" Kara whispers.
"And now," Lena says, smiling through her emotions. "Nothing about that has changed."
Kara's eyes fill with tears. She stands, opening her arms. She doesn't want to talk anymore. She just wants them to fall back into place, fitting together the way they did before. Lena melts into her arms and lets out a sob as she clutches Kara's back.
"I love you, too," Kara whispers into the space between her ear and her neck, holding her as close as possible. "Always."

To Live Is To Die
Chapter 1: It’s warm but oh so cold
Hank and Connor had been called into the station on their day off making it even harder for Connor to get Hank to wake up on time.
The whole drive there was Hank grumbling and randomly smacking the wheel for emphasis. Overall Connor believes the morning could have gone worse.
“I just don’t understand why just because a God damn spaceship has to show up in New York then that means we have to show up too.” Hank had finally gotten over his morning haze and his complaints were becoming coherent.
“It’s to make Detroit feel safer.” Connor explained as he held the door of the station open for Hank.
“Safe my ass why can’t I feel safe at home in my own bed asleep!”
“For once I agree with you.” Gavin chimed in as they walked past his desk.
“Geez Gavin you look like shit.”
“Thanks it’s not like I haven’t gotten any sleep.” He sassed back.
“My scanner indicates that you are experiencing anxiety, I recommend a humidifier using a Lavender scented oil.” Connor suggested looking concerned.
“Just get off my back and go be a good robo cop.” He grumbled turning his back away to stare at his computer.
“Alright c’mon kid.” Hank told while bumping Connor with his shoulder.
The following hours felt ridiculously slow.
Aliens show up and suddenly nobody wants to be out and about, which honestly Connor doesn’t blame anyone for.
He’s read about the Chitauri invasion and how gruesome it was. New York residents using anything as a weapon in order to not to be spiked like a kabob.
“Lieutenant.”
“Mhm?”
“You were around for the Chitauri correct?”
Hank let out a deep sigh. He eyed Connor over the coffee cup while taking a big sip. After setting it back down he finally answered.
“Connor this is nothing like that, I promise everythings gonna be fine. Now you can just ignore the fancy numbers you have buzzin around in there and tell me what you have planned for Sumo.”
Connor’s eyes seemed to light up at the mention of his over the top sewing project.
“I was trying to figure out formal wear and whether or not he will look better with coattails,”
Hank nodded along to Connor’s words with a slight smile on his face.
It wasn’t until late afternoon that the DPD was really bustling with people.
Tina had wondered over to the Anderson’s desks at some point. Connor and her soon started striking up some small talk.
That is until Connor revealed his sewing extravaganza to her.
“Connor!” She exclaimed looking at the plans “It’s all so cute!”
Connor could feel the blush hiding beneath his collar.
“Ah, thank you Officer Chen.”
“No need to be so formal I’m just Tina to you.”
“Well if you two are going to keep talking about all that I’m getting some coffee.” Hank eased himself out the chair and started for the break room.
“Didn’t we just get off of lunch break though.” Tina teased.
“Is that not your third cup Lieutenant?” Connor asked joining in on the fun.
All they got back as a response was the bird from Hank.
A bout of laugher rose up between the two drawing over Officers Miller and Person.
Conversation started and topics bounced from person to person.
“Honestly Chris I still can’t believe you thought a mail box was a good idea.” Miller said in disbelief.
“Hey now, that’s Officer Chris to you.”
“I still find it hard to believe that-“ Connor stopped halfway through. His led starting to flash a steady yellow.
“Connor?” Chen asked face laced with concern.
“Did we get a new report?” Person asked with some dread.
“No it’s not that, but something is wrong...”
Connor’s train of thought was derailed from a spam of messages from other androids he knew. The one sticking out to him the most being Kara’s.
“Connor, Alice isn’t feeling well and Luther doesn’t either and I’m getting a ton of messages from-“ Error: Connection disrupted.
“It’s not just me.” Connor spoke.
“What do you mean it’s not just you?” Person was getting more concerned.
“No I feel it too, some sort of bad feeling.” Miller said.
“That’s not how it works” Person said.
In exactly ten seconds Person ate his words. Connor keeled over with a gasp.
“Connor!” All three of them shouted. This drew attention from other officers around the DPD. Some looked like they were about to rush over when suddenly a ST300 started to lean on the wall for support.
“Connor- “
“Hey-”
“What- going on?”
All his senses were screaming. A low burning seemed to be starting in his chest. Can androids have heartburn? Is this what heartburn is like? Connor was pretty sure a heartburn stays in the chest. His limbs felt like the fire was spreading to them.
“Hank.” Was all he could choke out.
“Someone-over.”
A hand grabbed his shoulder. At this point the burning felt like a warm version of your hand falling alseep.
“Connor, Connor I’m here.”
“Hank?”
“That’s right I’m here son.”
“I am sorry.”
“No no save your breath your help will be here soon and-“
“I wanted to live more.”
Hank froze.
“It’s not fair.” Connor continued.
“Don’t talk like that you are going to live more, you are going to stuff me and Sumo in the matching PJs you made, I’m going to convince you to finally try that blue ice cream.”
“Thirium synthetic ice cream.”
“God kid even when sick you’re correcting me.” Hank chuckled, as if we was trying to lighten the mood.
Connor tried to find a sense of where his hands exactly were. Once he was positive he had his arms looped around Hank he squeezed as hard as he could.
Hank hugged him back.
“I love you Dad.”
“I love you too Son.”
Soon Connor felt nothing but the warm buzz that was more like a hot fuzzy blanket now.
“I had so much to live for.” Connor thought.
“So much I could have died for.”
“At least I got to live it with Hank.”

I was curious since you were just talking about Suleyman sisters. Which one is your favourite and what would you change in their storylines? (Me: I would Sah being in love with Ibrahim and her and Hürrem being enemies, because I truly someone from the imperial family liked Hürrem)
I honestly love all of them. Even though they all share a similar purpose in the narrative on the outset (that is, being antagonists to Hürrem), they have distinct motivations and personalities that always succeed to make them so interesting to analyze.
Despite of that, I have to say that my favourite is Hatice. She's the one who felt most fleshed out, with the widest arrays of personality and relationships and I sympathize with her in nearly every level. While I know that S03 Hatice could turn people off and I could understand why in theory (good flanderization is still flanderization after all and her "Heel Face Turn" could feel underwhelming after Hü's huge E63 victory and it lowkey makes for kind of a soft reset of the show's status-quo, but not only I haven't seen this actually being used in arguments against her, but this is solely a writing problem that didn't even originate from her and wasn't totally fixed until the end.), I felt this was the most logical step in her arc and her development made complete sense, no matter how flanderizing it was and how tragic it ended up being. [poor Hatice :(] I have analyzed her character and why I love her so much as well in more detail here.
The one thing I would change is, again, her spending more time with Osman and Huricihan. The need of having kids was set up as a very important part of her character from the beggining and Osman and Huricihan's birth could've felt as a new wave of hope after the devastating child losses. It felt like they were the start of an entirely new chapter of her life where she could enjoy the company of her kids the way she so wanted to, but the birth of Huricihan and Osman ended up being only the finale of Hatice's worries over her children, a satisfying end to these arcs of hers where she could finally find happiness at last and with this it was over. It wasn't built on at all and this whole angle of Hatice's character was seemingly dropped just like that. While I get that her storyline was very densely packed and they may not have had time, they could've given us a few scenes at the very least, especially in S03B where they would play part in empowering even more Hatice's tragic arc, being a reminder of Ibrahim. Not to mention that Huricihan would've been a much better character if that set-up existed.
I adore Şah Sultan, as well and I actually enjoy her dynamic with Hatice even more than her dynamic with Hürrem, because it tells us much more about who she is. It was so enjoyable to watch these two sisters confront each other on not so few instances, while still loving each other. I love how Şah's ambition contrasts so well with her genuine care for the people she loves (like Hatice and Esmahan) and how her pragmatism could actually get in the way of that care, while we could still see that the two coexist in her regardless. It makes her motivation so interesting to figure out in a way we haven't seen before or after with any other character. Her love for Ibrahim.. while yes, I get that it may seem a little weird, putting so much stuff in their past into another context that could draw the line between "this makes sense" and "how exactly did that happen?", it explains why Şah may have this deep seated resentment to Hatice, it is a nicely used plot-device to drive conflict between them (the conflict set-up in their past that is outside of their clash of ideals and philosophies in the present and near future) and her and Lütfi later. It makes her more interesting, too, because it shows her ability to let go of her feelings when she sees is necessary. Her approach is also very interesting and unique (at least at first) and while I find most of her scenes with Hürrem generic, she was a formidable and effective antagonist. I also find interesting that in rewatch, you do see that out of her and Hatice, it's Şah who is more elitist, interestingly enough. (because while Hatice mostly pulls rank out of ignorance or when she's challanged outright, Şah pulls rank not only in confrontation, but in casual conversations with people around her, as well - E87 is a perfect example of this. She also views the dynasty as something even more valuable that shouldn't ever be touched - her not wanting to fight Mihrimah in the end, even though I'm sure she could've outsmarted her if she truly wanted to, she wanted the most out of anyone in S03B for the dynasty members to have each other's backs and support each other no matter what and she was as ready as Hatice to stand behind what the dynasty represents, but not on a more personal level like Hatice, rather on standing behind its laws and traditions, like Ayşe Hafsa.)
What I would change with her, is that intrigue of hers that succeeded to have Hürrem be exiled for the third time. There's nothing wrong with the intrigue neither writing-wise, nor with Şah's character in it, and I kinda appreciate Hürrem's overspending there as a parallel to Mahidevran's overspending in S02, showing that they're not so different after all in a bunch of cases. But otherwise, the whole thing felt like pointless filler that only repeats some aspect of previous storylines. Yet another harem riot, though not as large in scale, and that almost contrived exile, which served nothing in the end (except for showing how Hürrem has gained a decent network of political allies, but that was shown before the exile, too). I would probably make it a far more complex, but still to the point intrigue, the outcome of which sure wouldn't be another exile for an episode. This also wouldn't have been the ending culmination of Şah's careful plans against Hürrem, either. (Ayaz Pasha's death afterwards was relatively quickly planned in comparison! Like.. c'mon..)
Fatma is my least favourite sister of the sisters, but she certainly has her moments. I love her debut and I love how fun loving she is, I sorta wish we saw even more of that. I actually don't recall a moment where Fatma ever pulled rank on someone in the way Hatice in E26 did and Şah so casually does and if there truly isn't any moment like that, then I love her even more for it. What is even more interesting is how her motivation is a promise made to Mustafa (even though this whole motivation is kinda strange writing-wise, since she's an entirely new character and the devotion to Mustafa could look like something the writers only came up with in the heat of the moment for S04A's bad use of flashbacks and to make yet another antagonist for Hürrem... Fatma could've been next to Mustafa when he was a child in Manisa and she liked him as a child, who knows? That coupled with Mahidevran probably reminding him of Fatma's existence, as well.) and how far she's going to go to fulfill it, even after his death. It all showed a side of hers that is willing to put the dynasty members in intrigue (the way she put Selim and Bayezid against one another and even when she played that game on Mihrimah), an interesting contrast with the other sisters, who would do anything but, at least not so consciously. (I'm referring to Şah's very first scheme against Hürrem, in E85-6) I love how she scolded Mihrimah in E121 and I love how they showed her sorrow for Mustafa's death. (that little scene where she said: "I failed.." was so touching, honestly... It shows how devoted she was to it all) Her relationship with Kara Ahmet is also pretty great.
What I would change with her, is her part in the menopause plot. The episode itself is such a weird and tonal mess, but Fatma there was at her worst and I don't agree with her making fun of Hürrem like this. I get the purpose of the episode and scene, but it still sits wrong with me and since that was our first episode with Fatma, it rendered her a little petty for me when I was first watching. I wouldn't have had Fatma tell it out loud for everyone to hear, I would've probably made her show Hürrem she knew in a confrontation similar to Hürrem and Mahidevran's (hey, a part of their formula could work for once!) between both of them during the entertainment. I would have also given her a little more balanced screentime. In some episodes it was very fine, but in others, it felt like she was more shoved into the background.
About Hürrem having at least one dynasty member to like Hürrem - I agree, it would be a breath of fresh air, to say the least, there should've been this kind of variety. If there is one I would make a friend of Hürrem's (at the most part), that would be Beyhan.
I would have given her more screentime, especially in S01-2, she could be there to advice and support her sisters even more and for them to calm down from the games and intrigues. She wouldn't play such a big role in the story, aside from an arc or two that would be different from working against Hürrem. Her and Hürrem would be usually on good terms, since her emotional maturity would let her understand at least a bit of her side of the story and wouldn't be so quick to accuse her. (as she wasn't when she learned of how Hatice learned about Nigar and Ibrahim) Beyhan can't be fully on board with her, of course, because moments where Hürrem tramples on Hatice's happiness directly or indirectly could put them at odds, but I feel Beyhan's personality and shtick would be the best suited for a friendship with Hürrem of sorts. Since she still wouldn't be part of the throne war, Hürrem would have no reasons to act against her personally, either. (now, S03B could be a problem, but then we could... have her return to her castle permanetly?) It would've been epic if Şah had only her dynamic with Hatice in the story, but I don't think that alone would be enough for the writers, because they sure were searching for someone to replace Ibrahim as a more prominent antagonist until S04's switch of focus and enrichment of storylines.
