i have this distinct memory of a time my dad took me to one of those art district hipster cafes at like- 10pm when i was 12 and it was just such a vibe in there. so... au time yeah?
what if Shuichi is a writer trying to get a passion project mystery novel he's been working on done so he can try and publish it. he's kinda super tired of working on it at home alone, so he decides to check out this coffee shop he heard was great for artists of all kinds to chill out and work in.
Turns out that was a good idea because the coffee was great, despite the hour it was lively- but not too loud, and they had some really good music playing too. there were a few weirdos there, but it wasn't distracting so he let it be and started to come there to work more often.
One day while he was there, he felt like he was being watched, and he tried to ignore it because he was sure he was just being paranoid, but when it wouldn't let up he ended up giving in and looked around to try and find who it was.
The culprit was an artist Shuichi saw there a few times doodling, but never really talked to before like he had a few other regulars. Shuichi decided he might as well talk to him seeing as he was staring at him.
During the convorsarion Shuichi found out three notable things about this guy- 1; his name is Kokichi, 2; he was staring at him cause he was using him as a posing reference, and 3; he's both a huge flirt and a massive liar. Shuichi ended up having to take a break from his book to try and get a good read on this guy
