Doyle Legacy 1890s - 1900s LOOKBOOK
Tumblr media
Helena Doyle Harrington 1890s - 1900s
Babies first Lookbook!😀
Helena's upbringing was marked by poverty, stemming from the loss of her mother. This hardship led her to turn to prostitution for survival. However, her future husband Eddy, rescued her from a dangerous encounter with a violent client, allowing her to leave that life behind.
Together, they transformed an abandoned hunting shed into a functioning farm for their family.
Known affectionately as "Dove," Which is a pet name given to her since she worked as a painted lady. The color red became symbol for Helena since she adopted it as her signature, using the color to accentuate her vibrant hair and attract clientele during her time in the sex work industry.
Even after transitioning from a sex worker to a devoted wife I kept that color in mind each time she got an updated wardrobe.
The Harringtons lived poorly which is also why some of Helena's outfits seem out of date for time, she utilized her knowledge of previous decades sewing patterns to make clothes for herself.
I used up every outfit slot in CAS and I'd rather not overwhelm myself so instead I chose my favorites to share!

I genuinely believe the live action Cinderella is not only the best live action Disney has made but also it's one of the best films of the last 20 years period!
Tumblr media
Gif credit: @omniavincitamor
Now there's many reasons for this but on my latest rewatch I was struck by how perfectly it balances between being a children's movie for little girls to watch at their pajama parties with friends and being the kind of movie like Pride and Prejudice that grown women sit together and drink wine while they watch and swoon over the hero and the dresses and cry at the emotional parts.
It is simultaneously a film any adult can appreciate while still capturing all of that wholesome childhood joy and Innocence. And Ella perfectly captured those two things too. She keeps her child's heart that believes in goodness and magic but also she's growing up. Lily played the part perfectly, all those little moments where she's kinda astonished by her proximity to the prince and what that's making her feel. She calls herself "just a girl" but she's also feeling woman feelings and her portrayal of growing up is really beautiful because it doesn't make it seem like a bad thing. So much media makes the end of childhood seem sad but Ella brings the best of childhood with her into her unfolding adulthood as we watch her grow up.
Also the foley artists/sound editing also did a MAGNIFICENT job with the sound effects. Because while they could have just had the sweeping score for the waltz with none of the ambient sound, instead you get all those swishes of the skirt and caught breaths which adds so much texture and intimacy to the dance. Like the sexual tension between Ella and Kit is at 11 in all the scenes at the ball and afterwards (Richard's blue eyes doing 80% of the work there) but it's still innocent. This isn't a children's film trying to "get away" with mature themes. It's the kind of film you could use to explain adult feelings to children coming up on puberty in a way that wouldn't make them feel shameful or dirty. It's Wholesome Sexual Tension. Which is something there is far too little of in modern cinema.
It's both a film for grown ups and a film for children and it didn't cut corners to accomplish both. It's equally both and they didn't kiddie-ify the adult parts like the abuse or the grown-up feelings Ella and Kit have for each other but nor did they try to make it an adult themed film. It is still a princess movie but it's one for grown ups as much or more than it is for little girls and that's beautiful. I for one find it deeply healing for my inner child and my adult self and I feel I'm not the only one.
Also the costuming is immaculate even on background characters with no speaking roles. Literally could not get better costumes. I could talk about this movie forever but I'll stop now and probably make more posts about it in future

Annie Besant: 'I will speak for all the despairing silent ones'
SUNDAY SUPPLEMENT: Last month, the Phoenix Retirement Association in Crystal Palace hosted one of its regular talks, this time about the Victorian radical Annie Besant, a woman who led the matchgirls’ strike, popularised the cause of birth control, was courted by George Bernard Shaw, admired by Sir Arthur Conan-Doyle, and visited by Gandhi, and who played an important part in Indian independence.…

Eudoria the mother of the 'three' Holmes children in Enola Holmes leaving her daughter to become a proponent for equal rights for women is rather interesting considering Sherlock's own views on women as a whole.

Get Secret Doctrine'd lol.
This is my copy of Mme. Helena Blavatsky's The Secret Doctrine. This particular version is a two-volume 1977 reprint. This is the first of the two volumes.
A cornerstone of western Esotericism. Blavatsky lays out a sweeping, evocative pseudohistory in an attempt to syncretize and unify all human spirituality. Everything from holy texts to archeological evidence to folk tales are treated as evidence of a hidden true religion from which all spirituality branched.
It is difficult to describe the impact this text had on the English speaking world. In 1888, this was many readers first and only exposure to Buddhism and Hinduism. The theory that all religions shared a common "true" ancestor was not a new idea. What made Balavatsky unique was that she had actually been to southeast Asia, and she made clever use of ideas from popular contemporary novels to help sell her ideas. This text was an absolute bombshell for a certain type of guy in 1888.
It's influence on western history is bizarre and --in my opinion-- under-discussed. It's shadow can be seen in everything from authors like Arthur Conan Doyle, and Lovecraft, to painters like Kandinsky and Mondrian, to the early Nazi party.
The text did not spark interest in eastern religion, but it was gasoline for the fire. It set up Theosophy to be an umbrella mythology, which combined several disparate popular myths and ideas into a single, cohesive system.

Silly lil' OC Tag Game?
Tagged by the magnanimous @fablewritesnonsense
Link for the picrew
Tagging (as always no pressure): @helena-bug @meteoratheopposed
Like Fable was lamenting, this Picrew is woefully bereft of facial hair and POC features (and I am choosing to lament the lack of stereotypical masculine features). I chose to do all my AFAB Fallout characters as much justice as I could. So without further ado, meet the family!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
In order of appearance:
Blaise Tricoli - Ex Railroad Operative, Genderqueer Lesbian (she/they), Sole Survivor
Laaj "Lark" Parish - Brotherhood of Steel Elder (ooohhh spoilers~), Cis Pansexual (she/her), Sole Survivor
Amara Perry - General of the Minutemen, Cis Straight (she/her), Sole Survivor
Francesca "Phasma" Shipp - Institute Codename "Mother", Cis Asexual (she/her), Sole Survivor
Reyes "Spartan" Aritza - NCR Ambassador, Nonbinary Queer (they/them), Courier Six
Hannah Doyle - Star Paladin of the Brotherhood of Steel, Agender Aro/Ace (any pronouns), Lone Wanderer
All these babes are a part of my clusterfuck of a retelling of Fallout 4. @fablewritesnonsense 's wonderful fic Nuclear Family is very similar in it's premise though Fable isn't crazy enough to have 7 Sole Survivors. They are normal and went with only 2. I, on the other hand, seem to be a masochist when it comes to my writing and like juggling 20+ people right off the bat and then only adding to that number as time goes on (I've been working on an "intimate" christmas oneshot for YEARS and this close family gathering has 50 fucking people. DON'T YOU JUST LOVE ENSEMBLE FICTION SO MUCH???)
Anyways, the three Sole Survivors missing are Louis DeSalva, Atticus Bruley, and Zebediah Kahan. All three are Cis (He/him) and varying levels of queer. Louis and Zeb work with the Railroad, Atticus is a Paladin with the BoS.
As with my BG3 stuff, there is no promise of a fanfiction ever coming to fruition. These blorbos live rent free in the mind palace and occasionally get their world shaken around like a snow globe to see if any new ideas shake out of it. There are a few more OCs connected to these characters (A few blasts from the past to rock the foundations) but I am going to preserve a level of mystery to the story still lmao. One day I'll write up a ridiculously long summary of the story. One day lmao
Goodnight, Good luck, Godspeed, Gangnam Style, And All That ✨Jazz✨

I think I should also note that Helena and Holmes each injure/lose an arm, (left and right), and the left side is commonly associated with worldly matters the presence of heart and emotions, while the right side is associated with reason, higher thought and spirituality.
Tumblr media
Somehow, I begin to associate those aspects with what they leave behind when they let go. Helena leaves behind worldly matters for the sake of the truth she seeks, and Holmes lets go of the reason that would compell him to uncover his own mystery, just so that he can spend more time with Chaldea.
Regarding the spirituality thing though, I want to go on a tangent. Holmes says he cares not for Helena's work in his line for her which makes sense for his character. But that contrasts with the short story which was adapted into his interlude wherein he rants to Helena about her contributions to the world of esotericism and the occult. Why would Holmes care about such a topic obviously beyond his interests? That is something that his creator, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle would be more invested in.
Hmm...

Farewell The Doyle Legacy!
A small compilation dedicated to Eddy & Helena Harrington the founders of my Doyle Legacy♥
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Helena Doyle Harrington was a woman of unwavering strength and resilience, She endured hardships from a young age, losing her mother to illness and began selling herself in Finchwick to survive. Yet, she never lost her spirit or her drive to make a better life for herself.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
She squatted in a abandoned hunters cabin in the Bramblewoods which ultimately would lead her to meet the owner & her future husband Edward Harrington who had lost everything in the 1893 Silver Panic along with his entire family to Illness.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Helena was a victim of sexual & physical abuse, she was often afraid but Eddy despite coping with the loss of his family prioritized caring for Helena.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Even with Helena's negative reputation while working as a prostitute Eddy showered her with gentle care.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
They quickly went from Roommates to lovers and with an unexpected baby on the way they became husband and wife. The pregnancy forced the couple to dive head first into working hard to turn the property into a functioning farm so their family could survive.
Tumblr media
the couples wedding was simple and very private.
Tumblr media
The couple Maxed out their gardening skills as they raised their children & sold the produce for profit.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Eddy and Helena always wanted the best for their kids and raised them strictly on the life of farming & teaching skills they deemed important for men & women to learn!
Being self sufficient was very important to them & they were confident their children would have a place to raise their own children on the property in the future.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
But, as Eddy and Helena's children grew older they found it more difficult each day to keep their goals aligned with their own.
This left a lot of unresolved around the house and ultimately resulted in Eddy & Helena making major life decisions for their children in order to force their lives into the way they thought was best.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Silas was forced into a arranged marriage via ultimatum to ensure he'd take control of the family farm and Lucile was left to hurt own devices with the impression she would be always be taken care of. Lucile was often left alone and her goals were put on the back burner since Silas was the first born meant to shoulder ownership of the property.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
After Eddy fell Ill Helena heavily devoted all her time to caring for him which lead to her getting the illness herself.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Eddy and Helena both started to deteriorate from tuberculosis and their care fell heavily upon their children's shoulders.
At this point I could no longer continue playing the save but eventually Helena and Eddy would've passed along side each other as the era entered the 1910's. Eddy and Helena were devoted to one another and worked hard their whole lives to turn an abandoned property far from town into a livable space their children could inherit.
Several times Eddy & Helena went hungry so their children did not.
Tumblr media
Farewell Eddy and Helena you will be greatly missed!

THE LONDON LIBRARY ANNOUNCES HELENA BONHAM CARTER CBE AS PRESIDENT The London Library is delighted to announce Helena Bonham Carter CBE as its first female President. Proposed by the Library’s Trustees, the appointment was formally confirmed by members at the Annual General Meeting on 15 November 2022, also marking the end of incumbent President, Sir Tim Rice’s five-year term.  The new President has been a Library member since 1986 and has been chosen for her creativity and connections with literature and stories, her high profile and potential to advocate among new audiences.   Bonham Carter has a passion for books and deeply appreciates the importance of writers to the acting profession. Much of her own career links with London Library members who have drawn on the Library’s rich cultural heritage, extensive resources and unparalleled atmosphere. She rose to prominence by playing Lucy Honeychurch in the film adaptation of the novel A Room with a View (1985), written by former Library Vice President E.M. Forster. Later, she played Miss Havisham in Great Expectations (2012), Charles Dickens was a founding member of the Library, and more recently Eudoria Holmes in the Enola Holmes films based on characters created by Library member Arthur Conan Doyle.  Open to all, the Library has had innumerable female artists, writers and thinkers in membership throughout its 181-year history. Early members included pioneering women such as social theorist, Harriet Martineau, suffragette, Christabel Pankhurst and the first woman to qualifiy in Britain and a physician and surgeon, Elizabeth Garrett Anderson. Great writers in membership have included Virginia Woolf, Angela Carter, Daphne du Maurier, Muriel Spark and Beryl Bainbridge, and other creatives such as actress, Diana Rigg, and artist, Vanessa Bell.   The Library Presidency is an honorary position with fundraising and advocacy at its core; the Library is a charity that receives no regular public funding. Bonham Carter’s first major duty will be to host The Library’s Christmas Party but she is particularly interested in the Library’s highly regarded Emerging Writers Programme, its growing schools programme, and the Library’s various types of supported membership for those unable to meet the full annual fee.   The Library is a world-class centre of creativity and inspiration. Around 700 books are published each year by Library members, and over 460 film scripts, TV screenplays or theatre scripts are also produced by Library members annually, estimating an annual value of £21.3m generated for the UK economy (Nordicity and Chartered Accountants Saffrey Champness Impact Report, 2020).   Helena Bonham Carter CBE, said: “I am delighted to become The London Library’s first female President and to champion an institution that is open to all. The Library is truly a place like no other, inspiring and supporting writers for over 180 years, many of whom have in some way informed my own career and those of actors everywhere. The Library’s unique resources, history and membership help to connect the literary greats of the past with those of the future, and I am proud to support this incredible and vital establishment.”   Philip Marshall, Director of The London Library said: ‘We are all thrilled to welcome Helena Bonham Carter as our new President. With a passion for books and stories, and a long-standing love of the Library, Helena is ideally placed to promote this tremendous resource for the creative and curious.’  Photo credit: Sane Seven

What’s the Irish Magnus Institute equivalent like?
Fun fact Montpelier Hill is also known as the Hellfire Club…
Tumblr media
An Cumann Taighde Asarlaíochta (or the CTA) in County Dublin was known to most as simply a group of ghost-hunting and heretical lunatics who were at best mocked and at worst demonised by the Church to a point that baffled anyone who wasn’t a strict Catholic. There were no churches within a 1.26 Square mile of the place, this was managed by it being at the top of Montpelier Hill. It was a lovely hike, and a lot of supernatural and ghost tours would take you there, officially it was a branch of Trinity College Dublin. Some argued that only because back when Ireland was still under British Colonialism Queen Victoria like most Victorians was fascinated by occultism. Supposedly she publicly wanted the CTA to prove that the Pagan religion was dangerous and satanic, and secretly she believed in the work of the founder of the CTA - Herbert Brennan. Famous friends, researchers, and those who have funded the CTA through out the years include Arthur Conan Doyle, James Wright, Oscar Wilde, Elias Bouchard, W.B. Yeats, Peter Lukas, William Butler, and the like.
It functions in a similar way to the Magnus Archives, which makes sense as some of the researchers would tell you it was originally built with Jonah Magnus intentions in mind. Whether this is true or not has been lost to history but it was hardly a secret that Magnus was a tyrannical colonialist who wished to have as much control over the world as physically possible. The main difference is that the CTA whilst once founded by an avatar for the Eye - Brennan’s alliance and probably romantic attachments to Jonah Magnus was well known, in the first decade of the twentieth century it was shortly in the possession of the Slaughter - an English woman named Helena Asquith, she was killed by Constance Lynch a devotee of the Hunt, who held it for decades until 1999 when it fell into those most called the Unseelie court but those in the know knew to be the Stranger. This very avatar is currently sitting in the head office and is known as Diarmuid Quan.
The building itself is fairly unremarkable, whilst it’s surrounded by beautiful countryside, the most interesting and unique forms of fungi that people come from miles around to see, the building itself looks just like an old Victorian education institute. Some say it used to be where suspected Changelings were taken, records back this claim up as many children were taken there and whilst they were never seen again it does seem that a lot of later researchers appeared as if from no where. If spoken to they would have had perfectly explainable childhoods, maybe they’d even seem charming, if somewhat thin and sickly. The jobs of the researchers is similar to that of the Magnus Archive, to collect statements - but where as the institute collect them on tapes and file them away the CTA likes to dig their claws into the people themselves. People who give statements to the CTA talk about how affable and warm they are, and it takes them along time to realise that every single one of them will soon became more and more distant to their families and friends until a local circus comes to town and for some bizarre reason they are compelled to join them. Of course no one would connect a circus from mainland Europe with the CTA, what a bizarre connection to make.
The people (or Avatars, if you wish to be pedantic) who work with those who submit statements to the CTA are split between those who want answers or power. They are:
The previously introduced Diarmuid Quan, a spindly man who was half Chinese half Irish. His father’s family were wealthy back in Shanghai as the owners of the country’s biggest theatres. They have a contract which every acrobat in China has to sign to be able to perform in order to perform at an officially licensed theatre, one that is terrifyingly binding. He sits in an enormous lavish office. It seems just like it was originally crafted and designed by a friend of the then British Queen. The main input in the decor is the amount of toys, dolls, and wooden figures he has dotted about the place. He’s a small, unassuming man, until that is you realise his smile never cracks, and that the puppets he keeps seem to always be in a different place every time you look.
Domhnall Stoker is officially the head researcher and Quan’s closest confidant. his relation to Timothy Stoker of the Magnus Institute is unknown to himself - but he is a second cousin on his father’s side. Some might think the link to the Stranger is hereditary but that is simply not the case. Domhnall is much more aware of Quan’s actions and works very closely with him. The rumours say that they are in a relationship, but the nature of it is unclear.
Niamh Mohan, a researcher and a Mincéir (usually known as an Irish Traveller but she would never describe herself that way) who lost her family in an arson attack on their homes. Or that was the official story, and it made sense she thought since hate attacks against her community were common. That wasn’t how she remembered it though, but when she told the police about a strange cult who worshipped the Light who moved in nearby they wouldn’t hear a word of it.
Otylia Soltys, a research who as a child she was runaway who was taken in by the Circus of the Other, not that she knew what it was then. She was trained as an acrobat and they took advantage of her hypermobile joints to train her into being a unique and beautiful performer. Of course, the circus’s grip was tight and painful, any attempt to run away resulted in her being dragged back. Even when she ran to Ireland she found herself unable to escape the grip of the CTA.
Ravi Nayar was taken from their family at the age of six, their strict Hindu parents definitely did not think they were a changeling but enough of their neighbours did that they were taken from their home in the middle of the night. What exactly happened between then and the present day Ravi has no idea, their earliest memory is waking up in a warm, comfortable bed at the CTA and being told they’ve always worked there. They have always been loved and cared for by the Stranger, this has always been their home.

Review: Enola Holmes 2 (Netflix)
Tumblr media
Several weeks ago, my family sat down to watch Netflix's Enola Holmes 2. For those who may not have heard of the Enola Holmes franchise, the films are based on a series of young adult novels by Nancy Springer, which feature a young protagonist named Enola Holmes, the younger sister of Sherlock and Mycroft Holmes. Enola's name, as the reader may already suspect, is the word "alone" spelled backwards. In the films, Enola is played by the excellent British actress, Millie Bobby Brown, who became famous due to her role as Eleven in the very popular Netflix series, Stranger Things. We had all watched the first Enola Holmes film, and we had all thoroughly enjoyed it, so our expectations for the second film were quite high. I am pleased to report that our expectations were absolutely met!
First of all, Millie Bobby Brown continues to be a delight in her role as the title character. She's an intelligent, feisty young woman, with deductive capabilities that rival those of her big brother, Sherlock (played in the films by British actor Henry Cavill). One fun little convention in the films is Enola's penchant for "breaking the fourth wall" and addressing the camera (and thus, the viewer) directly from time to time. As the father of two daughters, both of whom are loving this series of films, I am especially pleased to see a young female character being portrayed as strong and intelligent. Enola displays those qualities in spades.
Although the films tend to play a bit fast and loose with the historical period surrounding the plot, I don't think they are much different from Arthur Conan Doyle's stories in that respect. Viewers will almost certainly be aware of more multiculturalism (particularly in the casting), but from my point of view, this enhances the world of the film, even if it's not strictly historically accurate. One prominent plot thread in Enola Holmes 2 deals with feminism and union organization among workers in a match factory, which I'm fairly certain was more or less unknown during the Victorian period. (However, if anyone knows of any feminist or unionist movements in the period of which I'm unaware, I'd love to hear from you!)
I should say a word about Henry Cavill's portrayal of Sherlock Holmes. If you watch the films, you will see a Holmes who is supposed to be a bit younger than he is when Conan Doyle introduces him in A Study in Scarlet. Thus, Cavill plays Holmes as a bit more "human" than we often see him in other adaptations. He is not overly emotional, but he is also not quite the calculating deductive machine who is often presented. Moreover, keeping in mind that Enola is the main character, and Sherlock is a supporting role, I found Cavill's portrayal to be quite effective. Some Sherlockian "purists" may find the revision of Sherlock's back story disappointing, especially at the end of this film (which I will not spoil here). I found it entertaining.
I would be remiss if I failed to mention the performance of Helena Bonham Carter as Eudoria Holmes, mother to  Sherlock and Enola (Mycroft does not appear in this film, although he did appear in the first one, as a rather unpleasant character). As in the first film, she turned in what I found to be a wonderful performance. I had read shortly after the first film came out that some significantly more conservative viewers were outraged by Eudoria Holmes shirking what they saw as her duties and responsibilities as a mother. (One Roman Catholic priest apparently found the first Enola Holmes film to be one of the most "evil" films he'd seen.) I, personally, do not share that outrage. Indeed, Eudoria Holmes's strengths (and weaknesses) as a mother contribute to her progeny's unique talents in the deductive arena.
Finally, as the second Enola Holmes film did not have to concern itself with quite as much exposition as the first film did, I feel like the main plot, and the mystery contained therein, was a bit better than the first film. Indeed, when the film was over, we all felt that we had enjoyed this installment even more than its predecessor! I would certainly recommend the movie to all fans of Sherlock Holmes, as well as anyone who enjoys a good, entertaining action/mystery story.

Theory: Garnok and Love
gotcha with that strange title didn't I
and no this isn't a Sands love story get outta here
The importance of love in our beloved Jorvik universe is an idea that has been stressed throughout the storyline and canon Soul Riders book trilogy (god im dying for the rest of Helena's books to be released in english, my brain is lore starved). We see this especially through the Catherine's Memories quests and generally sprinkled throughout characters' dialogues. This heavy focus on the idea of love is formed from the 'magical' qualities that Jorvegians place on the bond between horse and rider; a bond that their goddess and creator shared with her steed which ultimately led to the creation of Jorvik. Yes I am going to continue referencing the memories quests in many of my theories because good god they were filled with so much information.
This idea was expanded on in Catherine's memories, as in the last scene we have with her, Justin, and Linda at Doyle's Abbey, she describes her love for the island and her family living on, a powerful force that cannot be swayed by darkness; this was akined to Aideen's love due to Catherine's connection with the goddess. As a matter of fact, that great love that Aideen had for her creation was what led her magic to still exist and be carried on through two other girls. As was also mentioned in these quests, even the Wild Warden trees on Jorvik know the importance of love; the love that the tree in the Forgotten Fields had for the other Wild Warden was enough to keep them connected by their roots even after the trees had passed, hence why Thomas and Catherine chose to marry under it (someone in sse was feelin real angsty when they wrote that questline).
Lovebird trees and goddesses aside, love (or a bond) is known to be a very powerful force in Jorvik and is held very highly by Jorvegians, whether they label themselves as 'religious' or not. This led me to think about Garnok, who is essentially an anti-love being; instead of spreading love and life, he feeds on the loss of love - this is his main power source. I've listed a few evidence points below:
John Sands and Rosalinda (Soul Riders: The Legend Awakens) - This is a perfect example of Garnok taking advantage of those who have an absence of love in their lives. When John lost Rosalinda, he lost the woman he had felt the greatest love for in his entire life. As far as we know, he had no other family to turn to after her death. In his journal entries, he describes hearing a dark voice at Rosalinda's funeral, a voice that told him that he could get revenge on mankind, the one's who had hurt her. This 'break' of love in John's life essentially opened a gateway for Garnok - Sands was rendered defenseless against Garnok's tainted promises in his weakened state. This is where my theory of a possible Sands' redemption arc comes into play, as he was seen to display some regret as Justin flew away with MC and their horse, stating "...now that HE has seen you, you will never be safe on this island." So is Sands finally realizing his mistake, the love that he has for his grandson (however twisted) making him partially 'wake up' from Garnok's trance? Who knows, but now I'm rambling and getting way off topic per usual.
The Dark Riders - We can guess that the Dark Riders each have their own 'coming to evil' tragic stories similar to Katja's (the ice witch, possibly being put through a form of the witch trials), since sse is tending to move away from the whole 'alien' idea. In Katja's case in particular, so much hatred was directed toward her after she was found to be dabbling in witchcraft, whether with evil intent or not. Hatred - the exact opposite of love. This again created that void that allowed Garnok to seep in, whispering promises of revenge and power over the ones who had caused so much damage.
Shari (from Soul Riders: Shari's Mask) - Shari, who Alex once thought was a legend, was a young girl who lost her beloved horse. Overcome by grief (and potentially Garnok's influence), she became a sort of pandoric-corrupted creature who's face consisted of a wooden mask with purple slits for eyes. It's never explicitly stated in the book that she is working for Garnok or has any ties to him, but the 'needing Alex and the others (Soul Riders)' lines and the general creepy vibe gives me the sense that there is some form of connection there - the loss of her horse left a deep wound that Garnok was once again able to infect, corrupting the grieving individual. Whoa I'm finally done rambling - hoping I'll eventually have more to add on to this theory once we get more Dark Rider content (..plz..).

Cookie Run: Kingdom
my original stuff but I don't know if you can follow that
I'm open to pretty much anything, but I'll let you know if you hit on a NoTP or a squick or something, or if I don't know the fandom. This list will change as I think of different things or my interests change, but you're still welcome to ask me about any of it. Or anything else I've written about. Or haven't written about.
Lately I've been writing 1-2k in response to ideas usually. I'm trying to get myself to write drabbles and flashes but it's not working so likely if you ask you'll get something fairly long.
Anyone's welcome to ask for a fic even if we've never interacted before. Both specific and general prompts are welcome, and I like writing Gen content of all kinds as well as ship content, character studies, and worldbuilding.
You're also welcome to just ask me questions about my fandoms (or my original fiction).
